President Joe Biden unleashed on Donald Trump during a fundraiser in Nevada on Sunday, indicating he's considered punching his Republican rival and noting he has to 'hold his Irish temper' around him.
The fighting words came as Biden talked about Trump's reported comments that fallen American soldiers were 'suckers' and 'losers,' growing angry as he brought up his late son Beau, who served in the Delaware National Guard in Iraq, before he died in 2015.
Democrats and Biden will make shit up to try and make others look bad. Biden is a real piece of shit. The American people are not fooled.

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
September 24, 2024
Heather Cox Richardson
Sep 25, 2024
This morning, President Joe Biden spoke to the United Nations General Assembly in New York City. Earlier in the day, Secretary General António Guterres of Portugal warned that “our world is in a whirlwind” and, having lost the “hot lines, red lines and guard rails” of the Cold War, is dangerous and adrift. In contrast, Biden in his final speech before the body offered optimism.
The president noted that when he first was elected U.S. senator in 1972, the world was also in a time of “tension and uncertainty.” The Cold War simmered, the Middle East was headed toward war, and the U.S. was in one in Vietnam. The United States was “divided and angry, and there were questions about our staying power and our future.” The U.S. and the world made it through that moment, he recalled, but it “wasn’t easy or simple or without significant setbacks.” Nonetheless, the world went on to reduce the threat of nuclear weapons, end the Cold War, forge a historic peace between Israel and Egypt, and end the war in Vietnam.
Last year, Biden noted, the U.S. and Vietnam elevated their partnership to the highest level, “a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity for reconciliation…proof that even from the horrors of war there is a way forward,” he said.
Biden’s message continued to be one of optimism as he recalled the world history he has seen. In the 1980s, he said, the racist regime of apartheid in South Africa fell; in the 1990s, Serbian president Slobodan Milošević was prosecuted for war crimes after presiding over chaos and mass murder in southeastern Europe. At home, Biden recalled, although there is more to do, he “wrote and passed the Violence Against Women Act to end the scourge of violence against women and girls not only in America but across the world.” Then, after the attacks of September 11, 2001, the U.S. brought the attack’s mastermind, Osama bin Laden, to justice.
Turning to his own presidency, Biden noted that it, too, began in “crisis and uncertainty.” Afghanistan had replaced Vietnam as America’s longest war, and after four American presidents had had to decide whether to withdraw, Biden “was determined not to leave it to the fifth.” Biden said he thinks every day of the 13 Americans who lost their lives along with hundreds of Afghans in a suicide bombing, the 2,461 U.S. military deaths and 20,744 American personnel wounded over the 20 years of that war, and the service personnel of other countries who died there.
Biden said that he came to office determined to rebuild the alliances and partnerships of the U.S. He worked to rebuild the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and NATO allies and partners in more than 50 nations supported Ukraine’s resistance to Russia’s February 2022 invasion. Now NATO is “bigger, stronger, and more united than ever with two new members, Finland and Sweden,” he noted. Biden also worked to strengthen new partnerships like the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, known as the Quad, which brings together the U.S., Japan, Australia, and India, and whose leaders met last weekend in Delaware to affirm their commitment to the partnership.
Biden listed the many crises around the world today. “[F]rom Ukraine to Gaza to Sudan and beyond,” he said, we see “war, hunger, terrorism, brutality, record displacement of people, a climate crisis, democracy at risk, strains within our societies, the promise of artificial intelligence and its significant risks.”
In 1919, Biden recalled, Irish poet William Butler Yeats described a world where “Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.” But, Biden said, “[i]n our time, the center has held.” Leaders and people around the world have stood together to turn the page on Covid, defend the charter of the United Nations, and ensure the survival of Ukraine in the face of the 2022 Russian invasion.
“There will always be forces that pull our countries apart and the world apart: aggression, extremism, chaos, and cynicism, a desire to retreat from the world and go it alone,” Biden said. “Our task, our test, is to make sure that the forces holding us together are stronger than those that are pulling us apart, that the principles of partnership that we came here each year to uphold can withstand the challenges, that the center holds once again.”
Biden reiterated the themes of his administration’s foreign policy, urging the countries in the United Nations to continue to stand with Ukraine and to manage competition with China responsibly so that competition does not become conflict. He noted that the U.S. and China are working together to combat the flow of deadly synthetic narcotics around the world, but said the U.S. will continue to push back against unfair economic competition and the military coercion of other nations in the South China Sea, while strengthening a network of alliances and partnerships across the Indo-Pacific.
Turning to the Middle East, Biden reiterated the horrors of October 7, 2023, when Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and killed more than 1,200 people—including 46 Americans—and pointed out that “[i]nnocent civilians in Gaza are also going through hell. Thousands and thousands killed, including aid workers. Too many families dislocated, crowding into tents, facing a dire humanitarian situation. They didn’t ask for this war that Hamas started.”
Biden noted that the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt have put forward a ceasefire and hostage deal that was endorsed by the U.N. Security Council, and urged Israel and Hamas to finalize it. “Even as the situation has escalated,” Biden said, “a diplomatic solution is still possible.” Indeed, he said, “a two-state solution…where Israel enjoys security and peace and full recognition and normalized relations with all its neighbors, where Palestinians live in security, dignity, and self-determination in a state of their own,” remains “the only path to lasting security.”
Progress toward peace in the Middle East will put countries “in a stronger position to deal with the ongoing threat posed by Iran,” Biden said, to deny oxygen to the terrorists Iran supports and to “ensure that Iran will never, ever obtain a nuclear weapon.”
“Gaza is not the only conflict that deserves our outrage,” Biden said. In Sudan, a bloody civil war has put eight million people on the brink of famine, and caused death and atrocities. The U.S. has led the world in providing humanitarian aid, Biden said, and is leading diplomatic talks to avert a wider famine.
The U.S. stands behind the idea that people “need the chance to live in dignity,... protected from the ravages of climate change, hunger, and disease,” Biden said, and he noted that during his presidency the U.S. has invested more than $150 billion in sustainable development—including $20 billion for food security and more than $50 billion for global health—and has mobilized billions in private-sector investment. These principles were laid down in the 1950s by Republican president Dwight D. Eisenhower, who feared that impoverished populations would be easy prey for religious or political demagogues who could use them to start wars. Biden did not acknowledge that a Trump presidency, devoted to isolationism, would almost certainly abandon them.
Biden did note that the U.S. worked to repair the damage of Trump’s administration by rejoining the Paris Agreement on climate change. It also passed the most ambitious climate legislation in history, is on track to cut emission in half by 2030, and has promised to quadruple climate financing to developing nations, investing $11 billion so far this year. The U.S. also rejoined the World Health Organization and donated almost 700 million doses of Covid vaccine to 117 countries. Biden vowed to address the outbreak of mpox in Africa and urged other countries to join the effort. He noted that the U.S., the Group of Seven industrialized democracies (G7), and partners have launched an initiative to finance infrastructure in the developing world.
Biden took office warning that the international institutions set up after World War II had concentrated wealth and power among the hands of a few and thus people left behind around the globe were losing faith in democracy. That sentiment is shared at the U.N, and today he sided with those countries calling for an expanded U.N. Security Council, greater youth engagement, and stronger measures against climate change.
At length, Biden urged the U.N to take advantage of the possibilities and manage the risks of artificial intelligence (AI), which can both usher in scientific progress and push disinformation and create bioweapons. “We must make certain that the awesome capabilities of AI will be used to uplift and empower everyday people, not to give dictators more powerful shackles on…the human spirit,” he said.
So far, Biden’s speech was a retrospective of the changes he had seen in the world in more than 50 years in public service, and how he had tried to approach present-day changes by reinforcing and expanding America’s engagement with the world. But in his last address to the United Nations, he also had something personal to say.
“Even as we navigate so much change,” he said, “[w]e must never forget who we’re here to represent.”
“‘We the People,’” he said, the first words of the U.S. Constitution, and the words that inspired the opening words of the U.N. Charter, which begins: “We the peoples of the United Nations determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war….”
Biden noted that he “made the preservation of democracy the central cause of my presidency.” He recalled the difficulty of deciding to step away, concluding that “as much as I love the job, I love my country more.”
“My fellow leaders, let us never forget, some things are more important than staying in power. It’s your people…that matter the most. Never forget, we are here to serve the people, not the other way around. Because the future will be…won by those who unleash the full potential of their people to breathe free, to think freely, to innovate, to educate, to live and love openly without fear. That’s the soul of democracy. It does not belong to any one country.”
It lives in “the brave men and women who ended apartheid, brought down the Berlin Wall, fight today for freedom and justice and dignity,” he said. It’s in Venezuela, where millions voted for change; in Uganda, where LGBTQ activists demand safety and recognition of their humanity; in citizens from Ghana to India to South Korea peacefully choosing their leaders.
“Every age faces its challenges,” Biden said. “I saw it as a young man. I see it today. But we are stronger than we think. We’re stronger together than alone. And what the people call ‘impossible’ is just an illusion. [As] Nelson Mandela taught us…: ‘It always seems impossible until it’s done.’”

do you have any Maryland headcanons?? I absolutely adore him so so much
Hii! I adore Maryland as well, and yes I do have a few headcanons for him :)
-He's good friends with Florida and Louisiana but doesn't do the crazy stuff that they do. He just watches the Chaos duo when they're doing their usual chaos.
-He, Virginia, and Delaware occasionally race on the busy streets of DC to truly test who the worst driver is. Gov and DC can't tell if they're annoyed by it or concerned for the three. New Jersey on the other hand who likes to ride his motorcycle on the busiest roads of DC (another hc of mine), loves them for it and even joins them sometimes. Maryland and New Jersey are friends because of it.
-Maryland is also friends with Michigan because Michigan's the one who gives him, Virginia, and Delaware the cars they use to race. They once had a competition where they had to indulge as much of the other's favorite food or drink for a whole minute, Maryland drinking Vernors and Michigan eating Old Bay. They couldn't attend the meeting the next day because they ended up getting sick, but hey, at least they had fun :)
-He's one friendly fella. He wouldn't hesitate to help you up when you're feeling down. And social anxiety? he doesn't have it. He has no problem introducing himself to you and making you feel welcomed :)
-Him, DC, and Gov have this love-hate relationship where Maryland likes to point out how DC and Gov (not the government itself, but the government buildings) would be nonexistent without him, but also makes sure they're both okay. Maryland likes to say that he'd kick both DC and Gov out if they annoy him too much, but they all know he would never.
-Surprisingly, he and New York get along. They bond over art, sometimes talk about congressional districts, and eat seafood together. Nobody really knows how Maryland gets New York to eat food that's basically 70% Old Bay, but he does. They also talk fashion where New York criticizes Maryland's choice to wear his state flag all the time, but Maryland laughs it off and ignores NY's remarks because he knows he looks good 💅 New York's simultaneously annoyed and impressed by Maryland's confidence
-He can sing his heart out. You can find him outside of the statehouse with a guitar singing some Johnny Cash or slow ballads. The couples in the Statehouse have danced to Maryland's serenades before, and no doubt he'll be the wedding singer if the couples decide to marry. He and Louisiana sing together, and their favorite type of music to sing to are Disney classics, which appeases Florida of course.
-He and National Guard are protective over each other. No doubt National Guard can defend himself just fine, but there's also no doubt that Maryland would take the nearest weapon and beat the crap out of somebody who threatened to hurt his boyfriend. National Guard, undeniably, would do the same. They also act like a cute married couple. This fic called "Did You Lock the Front Door" by @abcwordsurge is one of the best examples of these 2's married couple vibe if you'd like to read one :D
That's all I have for Maryland right now. Thank you so much for your ask!

Remember that time Doctor DOOM achieved world peace?
In Emperor DOOM, he captured the Purple Man, Zebediah Kilgrave (a real scumbag,) a villain who has the power of mind control. DOOM recruited Namor to neutralize The Vision and others who'd be able to resist Purple power, and stuck Kilgrave in a doohickey to amplify his ability. Kilgrave objected.
The Purple Man says KYS, but DOOM's will is formidable.
DOOM heads down to the United Nations and puts himself forward as ruler of Earth. Naturally, everyone says yes.
He ends the Soviet-Afghan war, ends famine in Ethiopia, ends Apartheid in South Africa, and the world economy booms (he left capitalism in place? Huge L but it's only been a day IG.) No more wars full-stop. Authoritarian rule sucks, but it's hard to argue with the results. He hasn't killed or even physically harmed anyone.
Hey, it's Luke Cage and The Hulk - guarding The White House. DOOM is taking his job seriously but he craves challenge. Clearly administrating the entire planet is trivial, lol. He gets his wish - The Avengers mostly slipped free of the mind control and are coming to end world peace!
DOOM is delighted to have a rebellion to crush. This is kinda the core of DOOM's character. He's a master of science and sorcery, incredibly educated and competent, but he's incapable of being happy and loves conflict of any kind. So the Avengers and the Emperor race to DOOM island.
Though the Avengers are having second thoughts about the whole thing. Little bit heavy handed there, folks. Terrible analogy, Hawkeye. Philosophers, The Avengers are not. He crushes them pretty easily tbh. He could wipe them out or take over their minds again with the press of a button, but he decides not to. He's having second thoughts about this whole thing. He's bored.
Delaware seceding from the Union? Interesting development, though not plot relevant. In the end the minutiae leads DOOM to let The Avengers win, and Namor kills the Purple Man. Just kills the fuck out of him. He's a r*pist asshole so no one cares, plus he'll be back obviously.
Russia and Afghanistan go at it immediately, Apartheid is back (good job idiots,) and the US rearms missiles. Hawk is back on the menu and the good guys won, right? On the plus side, graffiti is back! Why would Doom bother with that? You can really feel the liberal bias at times like this.
Yeah the world immediately returns to its usual garbage fire state. Seems like a terrible mistake to me. Maybe a compromise might have yielded better results than 6 Americans who are unaffected by the wars and inequality making unilateral decisions. They never think about it again. It's hard to view Marvel as more than neoliberal brainrot at times, especially when a 'victory' is the world burning with the USA pointing missiles at everyone.
Oh, and Namor is pissed off at the surface dwellers, but that's business as usual. This is the DOOM I hope the MCU is able to capture - the dog forever chasing the car and his own worst enemy. A man that could bring so much good to the world if he weren't so petty, and, you know, a fascist. Not sure I'd be able to take it seriously with RDJ's dumb face, but we shall see. Emperor Doom is great and you should read it!

US launches dozens of retaliatory attacks in Iraq and Syria for deadly attack
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 02/03/2024 - 00:13in Military, War Zones
The U.S. launched dozens of airstrikes against the Quds Force of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran-aligned groups in Iraq and Syria on February 2, in retaliation after a drone attack killed three U.S. military personnel in Jordan earlier this week.
The January 28 attack on Tower 22, a small outpost in northeastern Jordan, also injured dozens of U.S. military personnel and marked a major escalation amid growing unrest in the Middle East.
Three U.S. soldiers were killed and more than 40 wounded in a drone attack on Tower 22 in Jordan.
Immediately after the attack, President Joe Biden said the U.S. would respond, but offered no details. Days later, the counterattacks began hours after Biden participated in a dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Base, Delaware, when the remains of the three dead soldiers were returned to the United States.

In a statement, the Secretary of Defense, Lloyd J. Austin III, said the attacks reached 85 targets in seven facilities. In a subsequent briefing with reporters, the spokesman of the National Security Council, John F. Kirby said that four of the facilities were in Syria and three in Iraq.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin says in new statement that strikes tonight are “the start of our response” to the killing of three US soldiers on Sunday.

Breaking: The US has begun conducting strikes on targets in Iraq and Syria, the start of what will likely be a series of larger scale US strikes on Iranian-backed militias who have carried out attacks on US troops in the Middle East, according to two US officials.

Lieutenant General Douglas A. Sims II, director of operations of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that U.S. Central Command combat planes and B-1 bombers flying from the U.S. continental territory conducted the attacks, mobilizing more than 125 accurately guided ammunition.

“The facilities that were hit included command and control operations centers, intelligence centers, rockets and missiles, and storage of unmanned aerial vehicles, and logistics and ammunition supply chain facilities of militia groups and their IRGC sponsors that facilitated attacks against U.S. and Coalition forces,” added a statement from CENTCOM.

Sims said that the attacks seemed to have been successful and that all U.S. aircraft were safe.

Sims and Kirby said that the decision to attack on February 2 was motivated by the weather and the desire to avoid unnecessary victims. Sims said, however, that the authorities expected there to be victims of militants on the premises.

In a statement from the U.S. Air Forces Central, Lieutenant General Commander Alexus Grynkewich said he was “extremely proud of the discipline and professionalism with which our aviators carried out tonight's mission. These defensive attacks highlight America's commitment to defending our troops anytime and anywhere."

More attacks will come, Austin said, following up on previous comments suggesting that the United States would not be a passive witness to Iran-sponsored violence.
“This is the beginning of our response,” Austin said. "The President directed additional actions to hold the IRGC and the affiliated militias accountable for their attacks on the U.S. and the Coalition Forces. These will happen at times and places of our choice. We do not look for conflicts in the Middle East or anywhere else, but the President and I will not tolerate attacks on American forces."
Kirby repeatedly refused to say when and where more attacks would be launched.

Since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, leading Israel to declare war on the group in Gaza, Iranian-backed militia groups throughout the region have used ballistic missiles and drones to attack U.S. forces countless times. This includes groups in Iraq and Syria, as well as Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthi rebels in Yemen, who launched dozens of attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea.

However, it was only on January 28 that some of the attacks killed the American military. The only previous death in the U.S. during the current wave of violence was that of a contractor who died of cardiac arrest while protecting himself from an attack.

The U.S. responded to these attacks with waves of targeted attacks, most recently hitting sites on January 11 “associated with the Houthis' unmanned aerial vehicle, ballistic and cruise missiles, and coastal radar and air surveillance capabilities,” the Pentagon said at the time.
The U.S. attacked and killed an important figure in the Iraqi militia who was involved in the planning and execution of attacks against the U.S. military on January 4. American forces also launched attacks in response to direct threats to personnel.
A senior administration official confirm to CNN that the US will not strike inside #Iran - only focusing on targets outside of Iran.
Striking inside Iran would have been a huge escalation, and officials have telegraphed that that was unlikely to happen. #Syria#Iraq
— Hamdi (@HamdiAlkhshali) February 2, 2024
The February 2 attacks did not even attack Iran itself, a measure that some Republican lawmakers have called for as a way to hold Iran responsible for the actions of its representatives and partner forces. Pentagon officials said they hold Iran responsible for the attack on Tower 22, because Iran provided weapons and training to the groups.

The morning of February 7th, 2017 began as a normal morning for Marilyn Scott. The 28-year-old woke up, got ready for the day, and then exited her Bel Air, Maryland apartment to head to work. Marilyn was a staff sergeant for the Air National Guard, and she worked at their offices in New Castle, Delaware. It was an approximate 50-minute drive from her home in Maryland to her place of employment. Marilyn was used this commute; but on this particular morning, she never ended up making it to work.
Neighbors called police that morning after hearing at least four gunshots in the parking lot of Marilyn's apartment building. When police arrived on the scene, they found Marilyn slumped over in her Honda Accord. She had suffered several gunshot wounds, and it was immediately clear that she had been murdered.
Police noted that nothing appeared to be missing or stolen from Marilyn's car or apartment, so a robbery was quickly ruled out as a motive. It was immediately believed that she was targeted - but it was difficult to come up with a suspect. Marilyn's loved ones described her as a private person, so even those closest to her were unaware of who she was interacting with prior to her murder. In fact, Marilyn was actually three months pregnant at the time of her death, but her family members did not know about the pregnancy until after she was killed.
Investigators have revealed very little about the investigation into Marilyn's murder, However, an article from 2018 states that detectives "narrowed down their search on who they think killed her. But they don't have enough to link who they think did it the morning of the crime." Investigators have not publicly named this person. However, Marilyn's sister Paris Scott stated that it's possibly the father of Marilyn's unborn child. Paris is quoted in the same article saying, "My sister was pregnant when she was murdered and the number one suspect matches that DNA."
Years have passed since that report, but an arrest has still not been made in Marilyn's case. As of today, her case remains unsolved. Detectives are still hoping to find that key piece of evidence that will allow them to finally move forward with the case. If you have any information that could help the investigation, please submit a tip to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP.

To paraphrase Buffalo Springfield: There’s something happening here … what it is ain’t exactly UNclear, however.
Earlier today, Beege beat me to the Axios story based on leaks from current and former White House aides about Biden’s lack of self-awareness about his age. Supposedly these aides feel that Biden’s problem is that he’s trying to do too much, even while claiming that the 81-year-old Dotard in Chief is “extraordinarily energetic for his age.” That falls into the realm of gaslighting, as anyone who’s watched Joe Biden in public can attest.
And this part made me almost drench my computer screen with the coffee I sipped while reading it:
Why it matters: Current and former aides say Biden is extraordinarily energetic for his age. But his repeated insistence that he feels so young can draw eye rolls: Some current and former aides believe Biden doesn’t realize how old he can come across. … Current and former Biden aides say he often pushes to do more travel and events than they think he should. Biden pushing up against his limits sometimes creates a cycle in which he wears himself out, then appears fatigued during public events — which can increase concerns about his age, even when he’s taking on a rigorous schedule.
Ahem. What “rigorous schedule” might that be? Biden’s taking more vacation than any other president, spending almost as much time in Delaware as in Washington DC. This comes after a presidential campaign that barely put Biden on the trail at all, followed by almost two years of pandemic restrictions that overshadowed his lack of physical stamina for the job. These days, Biden can barely finish an extemporaneous thought on stage, and frequently looks lost when it comes time to leave it.
If Jill Biden wants Joe to have a less-rigorous schedule as President, he’d have to set up his beach chair at Rehoboth as the new Situation Room.
But the timing of this story, especially with its sourcing from “some current and former aides,” seems rather suspicious. Suddenly, everyone wants to talk about Biden’s age, a subject that the national media more or less declared taboo during the 2020 cycle even while Biden barely came out of his basement for the campaign. They’re currently obsessing over Biden’s cratering poll numbers too, without the usual caveats of poll coverage.
And that’s not all. Andy McCarthy noted last night with amazement at NRO that the Washington Post has taken a sudden interest in dot-connecting in the Biden Inc scandals. Their 4000-word deep dive into Biden family corruption ties comes at a time when both the media and the bureaucratic state seem suddenly animated when it comes to the Bidens, but the Post’s sharp turn is especially ominous for Old Joe:
Sunday’s eye-popping 4,000-word Washington Post report on Biden corruption ties is, to my mind, more indication that a serious move is under way within the top ranks of the Democratic Party establishment to nudge President Joe Biden into bowing out of the 2024 presidential race. … The timing of the Post’s report is thus intriguing. For the president, it will sting for several reasons. First, it’s the Post, a pillar of the Democratic administration’s Praetorian Guard — this is not just more brickbats hurled by House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R., Ky.) and the other Republicans investigating Biden-family influence-peddling. Second, the subject matter of the report goes back to the start of Joe Biden’s Senate career in the early Seventies (yes, the family business goes back decades), meaning the Post has intentionally dredged up unseemly details about Biden’s past that have been vaguely known for decades but that Biden must have figured were long forgotten. Third, the length of the report shows that the Post had to have spent weeks reporting its story; the paper could have dropped this report at any time, but it chose to do so now, when the president and his campaign are reeling.
A vile demented Thief in the White House??
Great Job Democrats !!!!
The democrats have sold off everything including our kid's future. When it gets bad here they'll simple disappear (Tropics???) and leave us to clean up their colossal mess.

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
May 19, 2024
HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
MAY 20, 2024
Delivering the commencement address to the graduating seniors at Morehouse College today, President Joe Biden addressed the nation. After thanking the mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, and all the people who helped the graduates get to the chairs in front of the stage, Biden recalled Morehouse’s history. The school was founded in 1867 by civil rights leader Reverend William Jefferson White with the help of two other Baptist ministers, the Reverend Richard C. Coulter and the Reverend Edmund Turney, to educate formerly enslaved men. They believed “education would be the great equalizer from slavery to freedom,” Biden said, and they created an institution that would make the term “Morehouse man” continue to stand as a symbol of excellence 157 years later.
Then Biden turned to a speech that centered on faith. Churches talk a lot about Jesus being buried on Friday and rising from the dead on Sunday, he said, “but we don’t talk enough about Saturday, when… his disciples felt all hope was lost. In our lives and the lives of the nation, we have those Saturdays—to bear witness the day before glory, seeing people’s pain and not looking away. But what work is done on Saturday to move pain to purpose? How can faith get a man, get a nation through what was to come?”
It’s a truism that anything that happens before we are born is equidistant from our personal experience, mixing the recent past and the ancient past together in a similar vaguely imagined “before” time. Most of today’s college graduates were not born until about 2002 and likely did not pay a great deal of attention to politics until about five years ago. Biden took the opportunity to explain to them what it meant to live through the 1960s.
He noted that he was the first in his family to graduate from college, paid for with loans. He fell in love, got a law degree, got married and took a job at a “fancy law firm.”
But his world changed when an assassin murdered the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King—a Morehouse man—and the segregated city of Wilmington, Delaware, erupted with fires, looting, fights, and occasional gunfire. For nine months, the National Guard patrolled the city in combat gear, “the longest stretch in any American city since the Civil War,” Biden recalled.
“Dr. King’s legacy had a profound impact on me and my generation, whether you’re Black or white,” Biden explained. He left the law firm to become first a public defender and then a county councilman, “working to change our state’s politics to embrace the cause of civil rights.”
The Democratic Party had historically championed white supremacy, but that alignment was in the process of changing as Democrats had swung behind civil rights and the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Biden and his cohort hoped to turn the Delaware Democratic Party toward the new focus on civil rights, he said. In 1972, Biden ran for the Senate and won…barely, in a state Republican president Richard Nixon won with 60% of the vote.
Biden recalled how, newly elected and hiring staff in Washington, D.C., he got the call telling him that his wife and daughter had been killed in a car accident and that his two sons were gravely injured. The pain of that day hit again 43 years later, he said, when his son Beau died of cancer after living for a year next to a burn pit in Iraq. And he talked of meeting First Lady Jill Biden, “who healed the family in all the broken places. Our family became my redemption,” he said.
His focus on family and community offered a strong contrast to the Republican emphasis on individualism. “On this walk of life...you come to understand that we don’t know where or what fate will bring you or when,” Biden said. “But we also know we don’t walk alone. When you’ve been a beneficiary of the compassion of your family, your friends, even strangers, you know how much the compassion matters,” he said. “I’ve learned there is no easy optimism, but by faith—by faith, we can find redemption.”
For the graduates, Biden noted, four years ago “felt like one of those Saturdays. The pandemic robbed you of so much. Some of you lost loved ones—mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, who…aren’t able to be here to celebrate with you today…. You missed your high school graduation. You started college just as George Floyd was murdered and there was a reckoning on race.
“It’s natural to wonder if democracy you hear about actually works for you.
“What is democracy if Black men are being killed in the street?
“What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leave[s]…Black communities behind?
“What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot?
“And most of all, what does it mean, as we’ve heard before, to be a Black man who loves his country even if it doesn’t love him back in equal measure?”
The crowd applauded.
Biden explained that across the Oval Office from his seat behind the Resolute Desk are busts of Dr. King and Senator Robert Kennedy, challenging Biden: “Are we living up to what we say we are as a nation, to end racism and poverty, to deliver jobs and justice, to restore our leadership in the world?” He wears a rosary on his wrist made of Beau’s rosary as a reminder that faith asks us “to hold on to hope, to move heaven and earth to make better days.”
“[T]hat’s my commitment to you,” he said. “[T]o show you democracy, democracy, democracy is still the way.”
Biden pledged to “call out the poison of white supremacy” and noted that he “stood up…with George Floyd’s family to help create a country where you don’t need to have that talk with your son or grandson as they get pulled over.” The administration is investing in Black communities and reconnecting neighborhoods cut apart by highways decades ago. It has reduced Black child poverty to the lowest rate in history. It is removing lead pipes across the nation to provide clean drinking water to everyone, and investing in high-speed internet to bring all households into the modern era.
The administration is creating opportunities, Biden said, bringing “good-paying jobs…; capital to start small businesses and loans to buy homes; health insurance, [prescription] drugs, housing that’s more affordable and accessible.” Biden reminded the audience that he had joined workers on a picket line. To applause, he noted that when the Supreme Court blocked his attempt to relieve student debt, he found two other ways to do it. He noted the administration’s historic investment in historically black colleges and universities.
“We’re opening doors so you can walk into a life of generational wealth, to be providers and leaders for your families and communities. Today, record numbers of Black Americans have jobs, health insurance, and more [wealth] than ever.”
Then Biden directly addressed the student protests over the Israeli government’s strikes on Gaza. At Morehouse today, one graduate stood with his back to Biden and his fist raised during the president’s speech, and the class valedictorian, DeAngelo Jeremiah Fletcher, who spoke before the president, wore a picture of a Palestinian flag on his mortarboard and called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, at which Biden applauded.
“In a democracy, we debate and dissent about America’s role in the world,” Biden said. “I want to say this very clearly. I support peaceful, nonviolent protest. Your voices should be heard, and I promise you I hear them.”
“What’s happening in Gaza…is heartbreaking,” he said, with “[i]nnocent Palestinians caught in the middle” of a fight between Hamas and Israel. He reminded them that he has called “for an immediate ceasefire…to stop the fighting [and] bring the hostages home.” His administration has been working for a deal, as well as to get more aid into Gaza and to rebuild it. Crucially, he added, there is more at stake than “just one ceasefire.” He wants “to build a lasting, durable peace. Because the question is…: What after? What after Hamas? What happens then? What happens in Gaza? What rights do the Palestinian people have?” To applause, he said, “I’m working to make sure we finally get a two-state solution—the only solution—for two people to live in peace, security, and dignity.”
“This is one of the hardest, most complicated problems in the world,” he said. “I know it angered and frustrates many of you, including my family. But most of all, I know it breaks your heart. It breaks mine as well. Leadership is about fighting through the most intractable problems. It’s about challenging anger, frustration, and heartbreak to find a solution. It’s about doing what you believe is right, even when it’s hard and lonely. You’re all future leaders, every one of you graduating today…. You’ll face complicated, tough moments. In these moments, you’ll listen to others, but you’ll have to decide, guided by knowledge, conviction, principle, and your own moral compass.”
Turning back to the United States, Biden urged the graduates to examine “what happens to you and your family when old ghosts in new garments seize power, extremists come for the freedoms you thought belonged to you and everyone.” He noted attacks on equality in America, and that extremist forces were peddling “a fiction, a caricature [of] what being a man is about—tough talk, abusing power, bigotry. Their idea of being a man is toxic.”
“But that’s not you,” he continued. “It’s not us. You all know and demonstrate what it really means to be a man. Being a man is about the strength of respect and dignity. It’s about showing up because it’s too late if you have to ask. It’s about giving hate no safe harbor and leaving no one behind and defending freedoms. It’s about standing up to the abuse of power, whether physical, economic, or psychological.” To applause, he added: “It’s about knowing faith without works is dead.”
“The strength and wisdom of faith endures,” Biden said. “And I hope—my hope for you is—my challenge to you is that you still keep the faith so long as you can.”
“Together, we’re capable of building a democracy worthy of our dreams…a bigger, brighter future that proves the American Dream is big enough for everyone to succeed.”
“Class of 2024, four years ago, it felt probably like Saturday,” Biden concluded. “Four years later, you made it to Sunday, to commencement, to the beginning. And with faith and determination, you can push the sun above the horizon once more….”
“God bless you all,” he said. “We’re expecting a lot from you.”

Notice who’s doing the talking 👉🏻Delaware Adjutant General Major General Michael Berry.
In every single article where the National Guard are deploying 👉🏻 zero Commander-in-Chief or President or “Biden” mentioned.
Well, that’s what they do in a Military Operation and Continuation of Government ✅
Who gave the Orders to the General?
Well, who’s above the General?
👉🏻 Commander-in-Chief ✅
“Biden’s” NEVER mentioned the words Space Force.
His new Press Secretary recently on video said, “if the Space Force personnel would like to come get to know us, we would welcome that.”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For those who have no clue what’s going on…THAT is how sleepy Americans are to hear such a thing and that not make ‘em go 🧐🤔
Space Force is a Department of the Air Force. The Air Force did not give the Air Force One Presidential ride for “Biden” on January 20, 2021.
The Coast Guard is a Department of Homeland Security during Peacetime, they operate UNDER the NAVY during TIMES of WAR.
There’s 2 Helicopter Strike Maritime Squadrons from the United States Navy out of San Diego, California, stationed at Coast Guard Bases in Mobile, Alabama, (major Port) and Miami, Florida, and have been for over two years.
The Marines are a Department of the Navy… the “Men’s Department” as they joke 🤭
The Army and the Navy transferred ALL Communications to the Space Force in August and December 2022 to be under ONE Command.
Who created the Space Force, December 20, 2019?
👉🏻 Donald John Trump.
Who’s the ONLY person who can Federalize the National Guard to Active Duty?
👉🏻 The President.
10 US Code 12406
Who Federalized the National Guard?
👉🏻 Donald John Trump.
In Executive Order 13912 and 10 US Code 1209, in March 2020.
“Biden” extended that EO twice putting the NG Federalized aka Activated until 2024…
👉🏻 Continuity of Government.
They were Federalized because Congress did not have a Resolution for all 9 National Emergencies declared by DJT.
👉🏻 Military Operation to expose RINOS
The ONLY person who can terminate a National Emergency…
👉🏻 President.
All in 50 US Code 34.
Who declared the National Emergencies?
👉🏻 Donald John Trump.
Who gets to terminate those and address the Nation?
👉🏻 Donald John Trump.
That’s ALL Branches not recognizing “Biden” as CIC or President.
Well, that’s because my simple Blueprint formula shows the Laws and Orders that outline the Military Operation and Continuity of Government. 🤓
Too many are still making this way too complicated when our Founders created a Military first…
Might want to listen to the Veterans who know our History plus Military Laws, Orders, Regulations, Codes, and how they pair with Federal Laws, Orders, and Codes.
It’s very FEW of us, but History proves only 8.3% of Population during the whole 9 year Revolutionary War fought… 1.7% a year… that means the other 91.7% were whining, complaining, griping, fussing, arguing, debating, and hiding while a small minority were doing something about it.
As one of the pieces of the Blueprint explains… the Military Justice Act of 2016… Military Laws and Orders and Personnel supersedes ALL things Civil, Laws and Courts.
All it takes is a little reading. It’s very unfortunate certain people still choose Politics over Military Personnel explaining Laws, Orders, Regulations.
But that’s what I’m here for. An appointed time such as this. 🇺🇸
