These silver earrings with a pink stone was first worn by Mahidevran Sultan in the twenty-third episode of the second season of Magnificent Century. Two episodes later, they appeared again on Aybige Hatun. The earrings can then be seen on Gülfem Hatun in the thirty-sixth episode of the same season. They were also worn by Mihrimah Sultan in the fourth episode of the third season as well as by an older Mihrimah in promotional material of the same season.
The earrings become part of the plot in the thirty-seventh episode when they are used to identify Nigar Hatun as the kidnapper. However, Nigar does not wear them in the thirty-sixth episode when the viewer saw her commit the crime.
The earrings appear three times in the fourth season, first on Nurbanu Sultan in the eighth episode, then on Defne Sultan in the twenty-eighth episode and lastly on Hümaşah Sultan in the final episode.

"The color purple’s ties to kings and queens date back to ancient world, where it was prized for its bold hues and often reserved for the upper crust. The Persian king Cyrus adopted a purple tunic as his royal uniform, and some Roman emperors forbid their citizens from wearing purple clothing under penalty of death. Purple was especially revered in the Byzantine Empire. Its rulers wore flowing purple robes and signed their edicts in purple ink, and their children were described as being “born in the purple.”
"Clothes made from the dye were exorbitantly expensive—a pound of purple wool cost more than most people earned in a year—so they naturally became the calling card of the rich and powerful. It also didn’t hurt that Tyrian purple was said to resemble the color of clotted blood—a shade that supposedly carried divine connotations. The royal class’ purple monopoly finally waned after the fall of the Byzantine empire in the 15th century, but the color didn’t become more widely available until the 1850s, when the first synthetic dyes hit the market."

This brown and golden kaftan is first worn by Hürrem Sultan in the third season of Magnificent Century. It is briefly seen again on Defne Sultan in the fourth season.
Magnificent Century: Kösem used the kaftan on Handan Sultan in its first season.
The kaftan appears again on Nergis Hatun in the fifth episode of the first season of Golden Apple: The Grand Conquest.

Who are the female characters in MC that you don’t like besides Hürrem?
Gülşah -all I can say... so happy Mahi finally threw her out, but her still keeping Gülşah despite her shit harming also her showed an important aspect of Mahi - she gets truly attached, sometimes too attached, back in S1 she begged Ibrahim to keep Gülşah because otherwise she would feel lonely.
Fatma Hatun - So aggressive and sadistic and vulgar. Plus being so eager to burn someone’s face? Just no.
Huricihan - Such wasted potential.. I liked her at first, but later she was just sheer annoyance. She became so Bayezid obsessed too, it blinded her too much. Not only she betrayed her cousin in such an awful way, she seemed to have no clue why Bayezid is so mad and only seemed sorry because of his reaction and how she ruined their relationship. Then after Mustafa and Cihangir (her good friend) died, she like did not seem to even register it? Only came to palace and was all ‘Bayezid Bayezid Bayezid’ and ‘Nurbanu you r a slave lol’. Plus her saying she liked Rüstem (aka person who contributed to her father’s death) because he “supported Bayezid” (not like everyone with a brain would not question loyalty of someone like that.. he is loyal only to his own interests).. wtf is this thinking even. Good the writers realized she became just an annoyance and she got replaced with Defne.
Isabella - Do not get me wrong, she was not some bad person and did not deserve to die in this way (this is for toxic Hurremists who of course dehumanize her to remove Hürrem's culpability for shit), but as character she was the biggest waste of space. And had worst plots and worst arc in the show. And could truly big annoying. Not fan of the acting as well.
Rümeysa - again Plami once wrote comprehensively about her.. so annoying and her obsession with Mustafa was kinda creepy. Hated how she used Nergissah to get into her Daddy’s pants. In Ayse’s place, I would lose my patience as well.
Dilşah - Kinda didn’t want to write it because she was not even a remotely fleshed character, just a piece of cardboard, but she killed a puppy and I can never let it slide.
Actually a bunch of randoms and not important characters.. Hürrem is special case, but I get why she is interesting as character... it’s simply not my type of character at all.

After discussing it in the youtube comments months ago, I'm still trying to figure out Gülfem's rank in the harem in Magnificent Century (not history, just the show).
At the top are Hürrem and any of the Sultan's sisters since around Hafsa's death. Since I read in Peirce' book about the historical harem that age was also important in ranking people of the same rank, Mihrimah would come after her aunts and after her all of her female paternal cousins. Then there is Mahidevran, and now the show confuses me.
Is Gülfem above or below Nurbanu/Defne/Mihrünnisa/etc.? I would argue she is above them as long as they don't have a son and about equal to the mother of a prince's son.
She is a concubine of the reigning Sultan himself. Valeria Hatun who was a concubine of Süleyman outranked Nurbanu as a concubine of Selim.
She gave birth to dynastic children and I think even a prince. Even though they're dead by the beginning of the show, it should give her a special standing from all that I gathered.
She is older than the princes' concubines.
She is sometimes even referred to as a Sultana (e.g. Bayezid in season 04). But they call her Hatun way more often.
