Collision Course by lovetincture: one of the most believable first time stories i've read, spot on characterization and raw descriptions. didn't shy away from the ugly side of incest.

You can run away with me any time you want by Trojie: sam leaving for stanford fic! oh this one hurts like a motherfucker. there's a line in here that's so beautiful, it lives in my brain.

Az-M0D3u5 - (They/Them/Any) A snake themed heretek, I decided perhaps a Techpriest from a forgotten forge world, originally started near the sort of outskirts of its galaxy only to find it was much too unstable to be a viable forge world and thus abandoned. Most of the elites and those important got out fast leaving those who couldn’t scramble together as quickly if they had means to leave at all to fend for themselves.

Feeling abandoned by the Omnissiah and the closest thing to family they have ever known? They turn to forbidden teachings and seek to survive in the desolate wasteland of a planet they’re forced to call home. Using various xeno’s technologies to try their very hardest to stabilize their own little corner on this forgotten hellscape. They aren’t doing half bad tho!

Some inspirations for the imagination are definitely mad max meet fallout meet 40k (obvi) this barren wasteland filled with people chomping at the bit to use what little resources they have left to survive while blowing eachother to bits 🥰

A Necron Reading Guide

For anyone who wants to experience the wonders of Warhammer 40K's incredibly dramatic undead robots from space, here are basically all the published books/stories, ranked into tiers:

Must Read:

The Infinite & The Divine- You've already read this one. If not, your friends and family and the whole internet have recommended it to you. Go read it. A skeleton robot archaeologist throat-punches a dinosaur in like...chapter 2. This is worth your time.

Twice Dead King: Ruin & Reign- duology, so read both books. Wonderfully tragic, all the epic Greek poetry vibes, necrons who need therapy but will never get it. Bring tissues.

Severed- Somehow the most wholesome relationship in all of 40K, plus some fun lore, but mostly we are here for feelings. Also bring tissues but for happy tears this time.

Once you are done and need more (aka the good short stories):

War in the Museum- More of Trazyn being Trazyn, what more can you want?

The Bleeding Stars- See above.

The Word of the Silent King- Szarekh is a weird dude, but it's definitely fun watching him screw with some space marines

Once you really need a fix and realize there's basically nothing else:

The Lords of Borsis- fun scheming political short story, but it misses some of the little touches that make a necron story feel like necrons to me. Not the author's fault, pretty sure at that point GW didn't know the necrons' lore either.

The Devourer- decent little novella featuring Anrakyr the Traveler, but he has to share a lot of page time with some random Blood Angels and a cryptek who does not matter. Not the most compelling of the bunch, but there are worse ways to spend an afternoon.

Don't bother even once your get desperate:

The Everliving Legion- short story anthology. Has Word of the Silent King and Lords of Borsis, so you can get it for those, but the rest of the stories are just humans fighting necrons or being scared of necrons and that is not really what I'm after. Let my necron books be about necrons pls.

Indomitus- don't. Just don't. The book is bad, even by GW standards. They will never explain what the Pariah Nexus thing was about and I have given up hope of ever getting answers.

very excited for these upcoming two commander decks specifically! the left one is a gruul deck from bloomburrow with the tagline "make trash" which almost assuredly means junk tokens, my absolute favorite kind of artifact token! i like junk tokens so much i've incorporated a black and red faction of junkers in the fan plane/set ive been designing that uses junks and other artifact tokens as their archetypal gimmick! we've only seen a few junk makers in their debut set, fallout, so i'm very very excited to see new cards that could go in a cube, or my rocco list, or as inspiration for new cards in my set!

the right one has aminatou as the commander, which will be really cool to see again! aminatou is definitely one of the all-time coolest planewalker cards and she fits the vibe of the duskmourn light-in-the-darkness well :) i also just have a soft spot in my heart for anything esper. the taglines for this one are "see the future" / "cast miracles" which seems awful on its surface, right? and dont get me wrong, im sure some of the annoying miracle cards will be there. but if you look at the more recent miracle cards they created, especially from warhammer 40k, they're trending toward much tamer and more interesting miracle designs than blowing your opponents' boards out for one mana-- Zephyrim is a personal favorite. while wotc certainly isnt known right now for keeping new cards tame, i have faith they understand miracle's past frustrating design elements and will give us new, valuable, and interesting miracle cards more in-line with 40K than AVR.

Which Persona characters do you think would be the most invested in Warhammer lore?

(Fuuka is one of the obvious answers, and I know she would’ve had a blast killing things in Space Marines 1 & 2)

Considering Mitsuru is ridiculously rich, she’d probably play a 2,000+ point Sisters of Battle army & have the Adeptus Custode’s as her secondary 40k army. If she played Warhammer Fantasy she’d likely have the High Elves as her main army.

Before his untimely passing, Shinjiro once played the Imperial Guard (40k) & the Empire of Man (Fantasy). I abide to the headcanon that Fuuka plays the Tau, that or the Ultramarines. She is unfortunately not interested in Fantasy as she’s a diehard Sci Fi nerd.

Most of the Persona characters aren’t rich (Or crazy) enough to buy Warhammer miniatures due to the sheer expense. However, I can see a good few who’d buy those overpriced plastic/metal soldiers.

Yosuke has enough money to buy multiple large-scale armies for not only him but for the rest of the investigation team, and he'd definitely play the Adeptus Mechanicus (If you know you know). He isn’t interested in Fantasy unfortunately.

Chie is definitely a diehard Ork(c) player, that is an objective fact for both settings. She’s also the type of person to scream “WAAAGH!!!” whenever her Boyz win.

Chie would introduce Yukiko to Warhammer, and she’d grow a deep interest & investment for Fantasy (And be livid about the End Times) instead of 40k. Being an appreciator of horror, she’d vibe far more with the Skaven & Beastmen of Chaos.

Teddie was banned from the GW stores due to him eating some of the miniatures.

Naoto would at first show disinterest & even be baffled by the prices of the models, but they would eventually find interest after learning about the lore, particular Necromunda. Becoming one of the few to take deeper interest in the specialist games over the main ones, Naoto primarily plays House Delaque due to their mystique.

For Persona 5, Makoto & Haru play Warhammer 40k, and they play Tau & World Eaters respectively. Yusuke also buys many of the miniatures (Primarily those from Age of Sigmar), but this is literally just because he likes painting the miniatures, and he never actually plays the tabletop game.

Since Futaba is not good at talking to strangers (And Sojiro would have a heart attack if she ever decided to but the miniatures), she only plays the videogames as they’re far less expensive. Her favorite is the Space Marine duology & Vermintide.

As for the protags, Makoto’s the kind of edgy boi to play Dark Eldar (After actually getting enough money to buy the army), while his counterpart Kotone plays the High Elves from Warhammer Fantasy. Yu Chadkami plays Imperial Knights (40k) or the Beastclaw Raiders (AoS), and Ren plays the Chaos Warriors (Fantasy) & the Thousand Sons (40k).

These are just my opinions though.

Wing Tier List - Primarch Version

So, because my partners encouraged me to write this and there seems to be a few mutuals who are interested, I’ve compiled my Wing Tier List for the Primarchs. This is inspired by this post about an exchange between Jaghatai Khan and Mortarion shortly after Mortarion ascended to be a Daemon Primarch. I am in no way an expert in 40k tabletop rules or lore - these rulings were made mostly off of Vibes with a dash of the lore that I know - or of wings on fictional characters. I’m just someone who has spent way too much time thinking about this.

I should also mention that, while it is impossible for me to be Normal about liking Sanguinius, this did not influence the actual rankings.

(I’m going to try to use official art as best I can.)

So, let’s get to it!

Contender: Sanguinius of the Blood Angels

Because to start off with anyone else would be heresy. His wings are so well-known that he carries the nickname “the Angel” among his brothers as well as the other Legions. Jokingly and lovingly called Hawk-Boy by fandom. Commonly-known in canon as one of the two most prettiest primarchs. Wings so significant that when I went to google “which primarchs have wings” to make sure I wasn’t missing someone Obvious, I got this:

Yeah, I didn’t even say Sanguinius in my search, but Google just Knew. (And also, thank you so much to @plagueplanethq​ for helping me fact-check how many Primarchs actually have wings.)

Anyways. Sanguinius is first to be evaluated because he’s the OG winged-primarch. He’s also happens to be the only Loyalist on this list.

Analysis: When setting out to do the look for Sanguinius, the original artists leaned in super hard to the “Angel” keyword and not so much the “vampire” part. If you showed me a picture of Sanguinius before I was into 40k and asked me what he is, I would have never guessed “vampire.” I have seen these sorts of wings hundreds of times. Are they nicely done? Oh definitely. Does he make it look good? Absolutely. How unique is it? ...not really? He’s an angel, and has white wings. The artists understood the assignment and did a great job, but this isn’t exactly new:

Contender: Angron of the World Eaters

Analysis: When a dude has a nickname like “the Red Angel,” well, of course he’ll eventually get wings. I was a little worried at first that this was going to be too much “traditional demon or devil” wings, but I do like some of the detail on the model! Doing skin and/or scales for the wings also feels more practical for someone pledged to Khorne, because it feels like a chance of less maintenance than if feathers get all messy. (IRL birds will go take baths and such when they need it, but is Angron going to bother? That’s up for debate.) The spikes are very nice, and the few holes in the wings add some personality. It’s also a good reminder that they’re flying because magic and because the Warp laughs in the face of science. Consider me pleasantly surprised:

Contender: Magnus the Red of the Thousand Sons

Analysis: Feathers make sense for the guy pledged to a god who has birb motifs going on. I really appreciate the fact that these feathers are distinct, and have a bit of character. Also, honorable mention to hexygoblin‘s paint job here, which is stunning. He’s definitely got the best feathers on wings. I also feel like Tzeentch would appreciate a bit of style:

Contender: Fulgrim of the Emperor’s Children

Analysis: It is truly a shame that we don’t have a more current model for Daemon Primarch Fulgrim. I am forced to go off of the vibe of the model and that first image of him screaming to try to make a wing assessment. This looks fairly standard for what one might think of demons or devils, and I gotta say, I’m not impressed? The second drawing suggests feathers, which would make sense for the Phoenix. Mostly, I would expect the primarch who pledged themself to the Lord of Excess to be more... excessive? I’ve seen some cool fanart for different wing interpretations for Fulgrim, but I’m trying to go off of ‘canon’ as much as I can here:

Contender: Mortarion of the Death Guard

Analysis: I’m definitely getting moth vibes from the way the wings are done on the model. This model was also designed a bit more naturally to look like he’s flying. Artist took the prompt of “decay, so probably flies” and gave him flies on the model, which means bonus wings. But this isn’t a “how many wings” contest, this is for “coolest wings.” (Mortarion would win for sheer quantity of wings because of all of the flies.) There’s no way he’s flying with those wings without Warp Shenanigans. I feel like these are the most unique out of all of them. The paint job and also how the wings looks like they’re trying to be tatters also suggests the futile fight against entropy, which is the Lord of Decay’s bag:

How would a 40k interaction between Thavu and Umami go? Does Thavu have any sort of unwind/relaxing activities on the morningstar? (Besides hot pants footlooseing)

I wanted to try and draw something for this but it's coming very slowly to me, SO. FOR THE FIRST ONE: Honestly I'm not sure! Unless my characters are in their premade sets I dont often have a very easy idea for how they'd interact....I think thavu would set of umami's "sopping wet kitten" energy tho and she would want to feed this tiny bedraggled thing. no cost, just have soup, enjoy. Thavu would find this Suspicious. As for Thavu unwinding activities...I think when not doing chores or training or meditation and all that, her go to activity is probably...Quilting! Or as close as she can get. i think she would collect scraps of fabric from clothes and such that is damaged, or has to be resized, or has been deemed set for recycling bc it's outlived its usefulness. Maybe buys some gaudy trash from hallowette that she can repurpose on occasion. probably does collage form, small squares and rectangles... none large enough to be actual Quilts if she finishes...though she might have an actual blanket in the works. very very very slowly. not for her though, she's chronically quite warm and all her shitty blankets have been donated to the Squad Nest Side note: thavus usual designs would likely be of suns, sun dogs, Eyes, tundra vibes, so on so forth (though her fabric options are so very limited). some of them are definitely Wards, bc psykers seem drawn to making those.

It's another Saturday morning in a blanket with new music. Truly all I could ever need to write.

Here's what I've been working on...

Modern/band AU is fit and ready to start posting this upcoming week. Chapter [redacted] is complete, and I'm now far enough ahead that even a few weeks of busy life won't stop a regular posting schedule. And if I keep up writing then I'll be able to post around Xmas without needing a break!

Chapter [redacted+1] has an opening sentence, which is often the hardest part.

The outline for the AU has been modified a little. Combined three chapters into one, split out another chapter into two. Probably lots of consolidation to be done otherwise. There's a weird bit in the outline that's kinda fuzzy, but I'm sure I'll knuckle my way through it since it's not thematically deep. Might even be another chapter consolidation. This fic is definitely going to be longer than the 40k I was hoping it would top out at...

Editing the previous chapters has been a fun exercise in trimming the fat! I still want there to be scenes that are just ~vibes~ but I axed 1k words and the whole thing is cleaner for it.

More Minthara/Lae'zel is in the works, but it's mostly only the skeleton of an idea as I've had to rework it multiple times. I've a little under 1k actually written, and I'm not too convinced of what it is at the moment either. Quite frustrating.

Another seedling of an idea for non-smutty Asheera/Shadowheart fics. But it's really just "Shadowheart meets Asheera's parents" and boy I'm not ready for the mixed emotions Shadowheart's going to feel in that one. You know it's not just going to be fluff.

The Gauntlet/Nightsong segment for my core Shadowheart/Asheera series has a skeleton of an outline now. The POVs have been picked, the core beats are there, and I know it's going to hurt like a motherfucker to write some of this.

hii ! for the fic ask game 8, 7, and 11 <3

Ooooooo thank you for the ask, I’m very happy to answer these!!!

8. Which three fics were the easiest to write? Why?

• It Had To Be You: this was the first real fic I ever wrote and I honestly don’t know what possessed me to write it as quickly as I did. I was deep in my haikyuu phase and didn’t have a job at the time so I started and finished it within 5-6 days (which is CRAZY to me as it’s like +40k). I also had the movie When Harry Met Sally to base it off so that gave me a good outline to work with without needing to change much.

• the only hoax i believe in: had a sudden craving for stsg angst and I cracked it out an a day. It’s one of my shortest fics so it didn’t take an especially long time to write, but I remember being super in the zone for this one

• you’ll always know me: this one had more of my usual update schedule of once/twice a month but it’s still one of my faster fics. I think I was able to finish it so quickly because the story was so important to me and it’s extremely easy writing from Oikawa’s perspective, especially as a closeted bisexual when it comes to family. I just needed to get this story out so chapters took about a week to finish.

7. Pick three fics that were a struggle to finish. Why was it so difficult to write?

• and i’ve been tryin’ not to feel it: honestly i think it’s because this is the first long form fic I’ve written that doesn’t have an exhaustively detailed outline. My outline for this is more of a basic plot point structure, but I’ve had to go back and rearrange a lot of the ideas I had for specific chapters which means writing those chapters takes longer. I also get distracted fairly easily from this fic (ie: vamp au and post canon fics) which is such a bummer because it’s easily my most popular fic. I’ve also really been feeling the burnout when I finish and post a chapter, so I’d rather give myself time away from this fic and enjoy it later instead of forcing myself and hating it.

• i guess this is the end: this was a part 2 to my stsg angst oneshot but gd did I drag my feet writing it. I thought I was gonna pop this sucker out like three days after the original fic but instead it took me at least a month to actually sit down and write it. The vibe just wasn’t right whenever I tried to take a go at it and I’d write a sentence before moving onto something else. I did finally finish it though lol.

• things i would miss from the other side: this fic isn’t even technically done yet but MAN have i struggled at times. I was really good about writing it for the first week but now it’s really slowed down to where I’m writing like a quarter to a half a scene each night where I used to be able to finish the entire scene. This is another fic where I didn’t write detailed outline but I didn’t even USE an outline for it, just a vague bullet point list of things I wanted to put into it.

11. Which three fics of yours are under-appreciated (whatever that means to you)? Write something lovely about each of them!

• washing what you know out to sea: I always talk about this fic when I mention underrated fics of mine, but it’s true!!! I think my prose in this fic was some of my best and it leaves the relationship between the main pairing in such an undefinable state that I love. I’m hoping it gets more traction once the chainsaw man movie and season 2 come out.

• kiss me once, then kiss me twice, then kiss me once again: honestly this fic has gotten a surprising amount of love. It’s one that will randomly get a bunch of kudos and bookmarks even though it’s a Christmas fic, but I did really like how I wrote bokuaka’s relationship. It’s definitely a pure fluff fic and honestly it’s one of my fics that I reread pretty often!

• the only hoax i believe in: I think my use of prose and angst really popped off with this one. I felt very emotional writing it and I think I thought it would get more love than it did, but I’m still very pleased with it! I think I wrote Gojo with some good complexity.

Warhammer 40K: Boltgun - Forges of Corruption DLC

Developer: Auroch Digital Steam Deck Compatibility?: Verified Rrp: £4.99 (Gog.com, Steam and Epic)

What do I say about this DLC? This is just MORE Boltgun, if you liked the base game you’ll probably like this DLC too (or should I call it an expansion? More on that later).

The Forges of Corruption campaign ups the difficulty significantly from the base game, yes it does this by throwing even more enemies at you at once but it also introduces a few new enemy types for you to contend with. Thankfully, to go with these new enemies are a couple of powerful new weapons that will really add some oomph to your arsenal.

So here’s a question, why did the developers call this an ‘expansion’ specifically rather than a DLC (despite the fact that it is definitely a DLC)? I think the reasoning is rooted with the general ‘vibe’ of this game. You see, back before DLC’s were a thing, when the internet was just making its first steps into the public, some games (such as Starcraft and Quake)  became so popular that the developers would release new content for it in the form of expansion packs. In the case of Quake, these expansions often added a short campaign, some new weapons and a few new enemies to kill… does that sound familiar? Boltgun very much has the same kind of vibe as those games which is why I think this is called an expansion.

If I have a gripe about this expansion it’s that it feels like the devs missed an opportunity to expand the enemy variety by including the forces of Khorne. Perhaps they’re saving that for the sequel (I hope) but I still feel that this was a perfect opportunity to include them. I would have loved to have fought a Bloodthirster (and yes I know there are canon reasons why Khone and Tzeench wouldn’t work together etc and I don’t give a damn, it would be fun). Anyway, if you enjoyed the base game this expansion is well worth it.

From what I know and feel of their vibes:

Bain - We haven't seen any proof of him doing it, and I'm kind of torn on it. 'Cause that could be a potential security risk for him, depending on how he gets the nail polish and what kind he uses being turned into some way of tracking him. But, I can also see him sitting at his computer, painting his nails blue to pass the time while something compiles on his desktop or the guys are stealthing a heist. I dunno. Your Mileage May Vary.

Dallas - He wouldn't and never has. If anyone pestered him about painting his nails for him, he would complain and leave the Safe House with the excuse of 'needing to buy more cigarettes'. Even if he bought a pack just that morning.

Chains - He doesn't paint his nails, but he wouldn't be bothered if someone asked to paint them for him. He'd just remove it later if he needed to go on a heist or something like that. He probably wouldn't care which color they gave him, but he'd ask for purple if they gave him a choice.

Wolf - He was a dad in his old life, so he wouldn't care if someone painted his nails. Otherwise, he doesn't go out of his way for it. Another 'doesn't care what color' kind of guy, and I don't think he'd ask for a specific one, unless he wanted it to match something of his for some reason. Like, if he wanted his nails to match his 40K army he was running at the time. (After much thinking on it, I think he would field Tyranids and Genestealers as his main [either Pauper Princes or Rusted Claw], Khorne Daemons with corrupted Astra Militarum as his secondary, and Necron Flayed Ones as his third. Fight me.)

Hoxton - Dude's from the British Punk scene, so he definitely paints his nails whenever he's not on a heist. Lots of blacks and reds. I bet you $20USD that he freehanded the anarchy symbol on his thumbs more than once. The one on his right thumb always looks better, southpaw that he is.

Houston - YMMV again, but I don't think he does. Houston is very particular and works with his hands a lot--especially when it comes to the van. He's probably washing his hands constantly. Also, since some of his behaviors come off as Autistic Spectrum tics, he probably doesn't like the feel of nail polish on his nails. I, personally, despise the feel of nail polish. My fingers feel like they're suffocating under thick mud, and so I reflexively scrape it off to get rid of the feeling. He might do the same.

John Wick - Unless he did it while he was with the Ruska Roma family for any plays or ballet they made him do, he doesn't and he won't let anyone paint his nails for him. If anyone would ask to do it for him, he'd just give them that mildly annoyed glare that he has, say "No," and walk away.

Dragan - Playful as he is, he wouldn't--either on his own or if someone offered. Dude's still too wrapped up in being an enforcer for the Butcher and a gym rat in his off-hours. He's got no time for it, and it's 'just not his thing.'

Jacket - He probably wouldn't do it on his own, but he would sit there while someone else did it (so long as it is Sydney or Wolf painting them). His recorder would be peppy in its responses, even though his facial expression wouldn't change from his usual dead-eyed stare during the process. But, overall, I think he would be happy with some bright, neon colors on his nails.

Sokol - He wouldn't do it on his own, and he'd be insulted by someone else offering to do it. But, eventually, he'd thaw to it and the curiosity would get to him until he'd finally ask if someone would paint his nails for him. YMMV on whether or not he would like it or figure out that it's not his thing, but at least he'd move past a minor part of a learned stigma after the experience.

Jiro - He wouldn't. He's an old-time yakuza, so that would be a no-go with him.

Bodhi - He's all sports and bravado-focused, so I don't think he would. But, I dunno. It depends on how easy going y'all think he is with the rest of the Crew, and whether or not y'all think he would agree to sit there and let someone else do it, so YMMV here as well.

Jimmy - He would if someone else painted his nails for him, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he 'woke up' in his clone to find his nails already done up in a rainbow of colors and lil' designs. 'Cause, his uninhabited, motionless clone would be the perfect subject to paint, after all.

Rust - He wouldn't. Ever. If anyone asked if they could paint his nails for him, he would sling A LOT of slurs and just tell them to 'shoot him instead.'

Scarface - He wouldn't. Male bravado once again, except his ego is a 'different kind of inflated' compared to the other guys. Depending on if he took any yayo, he might even pull a gun or a knife on whoever offered to do his nails.

Sangres - He's similar to Scarface in the machismo department, but in a Mexican ganger kind of way, instead of 'a kingpin with something to prove.' So, he wouldn't paint his nails on his own, no. But, he's also mostly easy going with the rest of the Crew, if a bit abrasive in his approach, meaning that he might let someone else do it for him, even if he just removes it right after. Then again, he might tell them to fuck off before they even finish asking. It just depends.

Duke - He wouldn't, as the chemicals in the nail polish could potentially damage any of the artifacts he messes with.

Gage - He would do it to throw off people, but he tends to pretend to be a homeless veteran, so he doesn't need to, normally. Otherwise, he doesn't do it for any personal reasons.

Vlad - He would let someone paint his nails, especially if it would confuse others. Also, the thought of beating someone who owed him money while his nails were painted pink with red and white hearts would be hilarious to him.

Locke - He wouldn't, and he'd say British-specific slurs in response to being asked. I can actually see Hoxton getting mad at him and stomping over in a huff just to fire back, even if he only managed to overhear part of the conversation from a different room. 'Talk shit, get hit,' as they say.

OOOOOH anon you have no idea how excited I was to see this ask in my inbox!! We are truly blessed in this fandom with soooo many talented smut writers, and I feel like I still haven't even read enough to be qualified to give a complete answer, but I will do my best with what I've read so far!

P.S. There are so many stories I adore that have AMAZING smut, but since you specifically asked for the smuttiest, I'm only going to include stories where sex is the main focus of the story. Also, so as to not make this too long, I tried to limit myself to only 5 stories per category, and only one per author (with one exception).

Lesson by @akitokihojo - (AU. Light BDSM) Akitoki's summary: "After a long night out, tensions begin to build. I actually had little to no interest in smut before joining this fandom, but then I decided to read this and it was SO HOT that it unlocked a slutty side of myself I wasn't even aware I had. The One With the Fantasy Type Thing by @shinidamachu - (Canon) Inuyasha and Kagome share their sexual fantasies with each other (and then act on them, of course😏). Words can't describe how much I love this. Sid's writing is phenomenal and I can 100% see this happening in a post-canon world. 100/10 HOT AF 🔥

Heavy Petting by @intoevernightfanfic - (Canon) Kagome discovers that Inuyasha's ears are an erogenous zone. This story was nominated for FC a few quarters back, and I remember being blown away when I read it because of how well written and in-character everything is, and of course how incredible the smut is!

Make Me by @keichanz - (AU) It's extremely hard to pick just one of Heather's stories, because she has SO MANY amazingly smutty fics (she's called the Smut Queen for a reason!!). This is just the most recent one I'd bookmarked, and it is (as usual) stunningly written and sexy as all fuck. But be sure to check out her other NSFW InuKag stories because there is SO much gold there!

Underneath It All by @superpixie42 - (AU) A wonderfully fun and sexy story that also features some incredible NSFW art by @kalcia!! Pixie has a way with words that is just so freaking enjoyable and makes me smile every time I read one of her fics. You'll also definitely be fanning yourself after this one! Again, be sure to check out her other NSFW InuKag stories as well. You won't regret it 😉

Thirst Impressions by @fandomobsessions016 - (College AU) I finally read this the other day and now I am wholeheartedly OBSESSED with this story. The writing is flawless and there's so much fun flirting and sexual tension buildup between Inuyasha and Kagome that progresses so enjoyably and has a very satisfying conclusion 😏. Plus the entire premise is Kagome finding Inuyasha to be ridiculously attractive, which, I mean...same.

Three's Company by @anisaanisa - (AU. Poly InuKagSan at first) If you like the idea of adding Sango into the mix with InuKag (TANDEM👏🏻BLOWJOB👏🏻) then you'll definitely enjoy this story (with endgame InuKag!). The perfect mix of porn and plot, sweet and sexy, this is such an enjoyable read from start to finish. I said I was going to limit myself to one story per author, but I had to make an exception here because a list of the smuttiest fics just wouldn't be complete without this story!! I'd had this on my Marked for Later for a while, and made a point to finally read it specifically for compiling this list and I am SO glad I did. SO. MUCH. MAGNIFICENT. SMUT. With a side of adorable feelings. 100/10 🔥

A Worthy Sacrifice by @lemonlushff - (AU. In progress) Lemon's summary: “They call me the ‘Goddess of Death’...but you may call me ‘Mistress’.” This is definitely another one that earns its spot on this list! I just LOVE this story and am so excited to see where it ends up going. Such a cool, creative plot with so much wonderful wonderful smut it's just...*chef's kiss*

Hit the Like Button by @omgitscharlie - (AU. BDSM. In progress) Kagome is an influencer coming out of a painful breakup and Inuyasha is a mechanic who rubs her the wrong way at first. The plot in this is fantastic, and once the smut begins there is plenty of it and it is all wonderfully filthy in the best way! Please heed the tags, as there are heavy BDSM elements and kinks in this story in case that's not your thing. If you're good with that, you will certainly enjoy! This author also has all kinds of insanely hot InuKag stories/one shots (some within this universe, some other AUs, and some canon-based) that will definitely satisfy your smut craving!

Mating Fever by @clearwillow - (Canon divergent. Complete) Carra's summary: "Inuyasha has a problem - it's mating season for youkai - and he's doing everything in his power to ignore the call. When the new moon comes and goes, Inuyasha is faced with two more problems, and they're both eyeing Kagome." An absolute classic in the Inuyasha fandom that I finally read in preparation for compiling this list! Such a fun scenario to imagine (that Carra absolutely knocks out of the park), and the smut is plentiful and incredible (Kagome getting to enjoy sexy times with three versions of Inuyasha...at one point even all at once?!?! HELL👏🏻YES👏🏻)

The Real Me by @fawn-eyed-girl - (AU. In progress) Sexy tatted rockstar Inuyasha finds his mate in equally sexy journalist Kagome. There is sooo much more to this story than just the smut, but since there is an abundance of it and it is all amazing, I had to include it here!! There is something I have been wondering for some days now regarding this blog, and to make it short it is related to 40k and the focus on it. League fandom for quite some while has been... not exactly making me creative and productive really. Which is quite a statement given the absurd amount of fanfic I wrote back in the day (and that luckily no one ever will identify as mine now) and how absurdly hard I vibed with the setting even in the IoW days.

This whole blog essentially started when I kicked my OC blog made too many enemies (you would be amazed how much rabid-hatemob-mobilisation-potential even a mediocre self-proclaimed "professional artist" has, especially when there is a whole group of them), at the same time when I hit Diamond with Soraka while also being a whole lot into the "I am a healer, BUT..." Meme.

That weird humor and a way to express my (now officially diagnosed) weird brain through the lense of an obvious alien character(all immortals/extradimensionals are not exactly neurotypical at least not by human standards), kept things going for a while and I have grown quite fond of this blog and the amount of people who barely ever talk to me but are here just vibing nonetheless, but I just feel like it draws me away, to lands both grim and dark (and dank).

The thing is however, I could NEVER. EVER. Run multiple blogs. This is my shitpost space it is my unified kaleidoscope of moronity that is the reflection of my mind, and I REFUSE to compromise on this one bit by trying to cut it into clean and simple sections. It just kills all the authenticity you know? The vibe. The mojo. If I wanted a clean and functional site where I would pretend to be any sort of actual person or a functioning member of society in general I definitely would not use this site to begin with just saying.

So I still want to be a Soraka blog, but the league setting just holds no appeal right now. The solution: rebrand to "Soraka-in-Warhammer40K" or something like that sounds absurdly dumb and yet my brain that has now been awake for 34 hours straight by the making if this posts really sees an appeal in it.

Man it sure was such a hard choice too! One hobby within days taught me about stuff I never thought I could do and create, while the other for the last ten years mostly thaught me how to apply the most disgusting psychological cuts while going around a text-censor-filter as some minor challenge to it.

I just feel so more creative, even if all I do is painting tiny plastic figures purple and gold in a really noob way. Turns out the bleak and hopeless future of the 42th millennium still look better than tour average game Ranked SoloQ.

Will this blog still occasionally post about League? Probably. When a big release like Arcane or a new story is going around you can be sure to have me rambling about it. Probably. But for now 40k is where it is at. Maybe I will even get back to writing who knows? Write my own little story for my tiny plastic aliens and robots. That sure sounds nice.

So if you have any opinion on this shift of themes feel free to voice it. I am genuinely confused to why people are following at all, but if you are just here for the vibing that's fine too.

So, I definitely think a few things are going on here. First, I think there is an association here with like, As stated above, this is a time which is so distant it feels like an entirely unrelated era rather than being the start of the modern era. The early 1900s are now very distant, no longer in living memory, and this has reached a point where it has passed firmly into The Past and has that slightly exotic quality. And, as mentioned, there is the whole aspect of it very much having some of the worst things humanity has ever seen. These things already lead to a certain... Vibe. Something about it all is a very different world. Yet... It’s also this aspect of like, culture building on culture. The World Wars were, obviously, absolutely defining for several generations. And so there is this uhh... Rather understated impact it has had on fantasy, which emerged in it’s own during a time when the memory of these wars were fresh and a lot of the authors of it served Tolkien had been long speculated to have been influenced heavily by his life in writing Lord of the Rings, and it’s themes. The Orcs are a war machine which brings horror and destruction, and the adventure changes those on it and the hobbits return to a changed world; this was resonate with many people of the era. More directly, you have cases like Three Hearts and Three Lions - one of the sources for D&D’s alignment system - literally set alongside a battle in WWII in order to draw comparisons between the main character’s journeys and what happens in the real world. Ralph Bakshi’s Wizards made this association explicit. Over in Japan, we have fantasy like Nausicca and Castle in the Sky which are hugely influential and are about how those who cannot allow the wars of the past to die will repeat the mistakes of those generations. Now, these are more about World War II than I, but you get an association built up where war imagery and concepts are intermingling with fantasy, essentially as a way to process and speak about it all. So you get an association there, perhaps a little niche, of war imagery and fantasy emerging - and that eventually emerges into, say, the Death Corps of Krieg from Warhammer 40k, decades down the line of it being established. And all the other kind of “World War”-inspired genre fiction, which eventually forms in the zeitgeist. Then, you also have stories from the wars themselves. World War 1 is especially notable for being hellish in a sometimes impossibly horrifying way - Just read up on the Attack of the Dead Men. You also have the very explicit, actual supernatural magic/psychic stuff used with basically all sides of WWII which serve as inspiration for things like Hellboy and Indiana Jones - The US was investigating psychic powers, the SS had this state psuedo-religion investigating magic, Scotland is said to have blessed some pilots with fragments of a flag given to them by the fairies, etc. This no doubt adds a Supernatural aspect to the world wars in a lot of popular culture. Again, more in the era of WWII for obvious reasons, but it further establishes this idea of like, that early era and the supernatural. I’m mentioning WWII a lot, but the two wars are... Connected, in people’s minds? Like, if one gets a lot of supernatural crossover and mysticism about it, the other will be a little associated as well, you know? And, of course, you start to see how the unique qualities of each shine through. So with all the backing, why specifically is WWI great for supernatural horror? With World War I, I feel like the general view is that it is a conflict where people were uprooted from their homes and forced to go into some of the most hellish battles in mankind’s history for the purpose of uncaring world powers with motives difficult to understand. It was a war without a higher purposes, in a lot of people’s minds. It’s a dirty war, an unglamorous war, and amid it was a horrific plague and terrible conditions which was leading to more people dying out of battle than in it. It’s also far enough out of memory that it’s not like, disrespectful, to play around with it. That’s... Well, QUITE a backdrop. So it’s pretty easy to make that leap, thematically, from war as Hellish to war as a literal Hell. And it’s easy to look at the idea that people are being pushed into these battlefields with terrible conditions surrounded by death, for the powers-that-be for their own purposes, and apply that kind of scenario onto supernatural elements which do very much the same. Even the general settings here - of war, bloodshed, and trench warfare - seems like a natural fit for horror given the claustrophobia and background anxiety.  And then I think these ideas all merge together and ferment over many pieces of media until you get stuff which now utilizes WWI iconography not for direct commentary, but as a sort of striking visual when painting a larger horror concept. Like, for example:

...Which has nothing to do with WWI. But the guy the film follows for the first chunk sure has that kind of -vibe-

I do wonder though: why does World War 1 work so well with supernatural horror?

I usually don’t like having more than one multi chapter fic going at a time, but this month I messed with that by starting some on my typewriter. Gonna try really hard to finish off all those before starting anything new - I usually don’t really get ‘shiny new idea’ syndrome so this is definitely new for me lol

Miraculous Ladybug:

The Pirate AU is continuing this month, and I’m posting that weekly on Sundays. With the number of chapters, it should extend into July as well.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure:

I didn’t anticipate this, but I had so much fun writing the 3 R’s last month - specifically outsider POV. I was like damn what else can I do with it? So of course I started another oneshot. This one has Dio, Erina, some OCs and some Bluebeard vibes. Current word count is 2k and...uh nothing much has happened yet, so final will definitely be over 5k.

Naruto:

We got a few of these this time around. First one is a SasuSaku longfic that..really got away from me. It was supposed to be a oneshot but now I’m at 40k with absolutely no end in sight. I wanna say it’ll end up around 50-60k? But in all honesty I have no idea. It started out as a Scheherazade type piece, and now I guess it’s some type of political/assassins thriller? Idk they’re royalty, stuff happens

The second is one that I just recently started playing with the idea of, so it’s barely written. It’s like...idk, some Naruto, some Greek mythology I guess. I have no idea if this is even a coherent piece together or if it’s like a series of interconnected oneshots. Everything for this has been written on my typewriter so far, but I’d estimate it at like 1500 words? Not a ton so far, but we’ll see where this goes I guess.

The last one is just another fluffy Kiba/Hinata oneshot I wrote to get out of writer’s block. Just needs to be edited and posted, so mayhaps I will be doing that soon.

Subnautica:

We’re doing it, boys. The Degasi found family fic is fucking happening (why are there like none already???). This is also currently being written on my typewriter. Don’t have a ton yet (maybe 1k?) but this feels like a fun one so far. Also feels like nothing I have written yet so hopefully it’ll be a good time.
