Your hair looks so so gorgeous! May I ask what it was like before? I'm trying to get the curl more pronounced in my own hair, but it is more Gríma Wormtongue in the rain than it is Robert Plant in '71, and I don't know how much of that is my hair type and how much is the wrong product/method.

Photo on the left was cute in a ‘runner up in the young Hugh Grant lookalike contest’ kind of way, but this is the longest it’s been in like seven years so I had no idea how to style it besides just slapping some mousse on there and hoping for the best.

Bear in mind I’ve only just started this curly girl thing, and I’m usually pretty skeptical when it comes to my hair bc traditionally it never does as it’s told, but you can see the curls on the right are looking a lot more defined.

Different hair types are gonna vibe better with certain products than others, but I have pretty fine wavy hair and this is what worked for me:

Gro Healthy clarifying shampoo - I’m not going to use this every time I wash it, just every month-ish to get rid of the product build up.

Garnier Hair Foods banana hair mask - left this on for 20 mins. again, not going to use this every time, just whenever I clarify. this one is rlly sexy bc you can also use it as a leave-in conditioner & it smells like bananas.

Cantu Shea Butter Define & Shine Custard - put this on after you get out of the shower, scrunch it into your hair, smells tasty but do not eat.

Umberto Giannini Scrunching Jelly - just scrunch this into your hair after the custard and blow-dry upside down with a diffuser (that massive hairdryer attachment that looks like an evil satellite dish - I did not know what this was lmao but it’s groovy). It’ll form this hard gel that looks gross but leave it for a wee bit and then scrunch it with your fingers again and bam you got these magical soft curls baby!!

I also got As I Am Coconut Co-wash Conditioner, which I’m going to use instead of shampoo whenever I wash my hair in future. (Everybody kept saying ‘cowash’ and I thought this meant like…cows. One braincell, as you can see. But no, it just means washing with conditioner instead of shampoo.)

I’m still a bit dubious about how well this is going to hold up, but I’m already really impressed with how much curlier my hair looks + it feels really soft and bouncy?? which is definitely new. I hope some of that is helpful, good luck with your curls!
