what kind of conditioner do you use? I'm trying to grow my hair out and i miss bleaching/dying it colors but i know if the texture gets too crunchy it'll drive me nuts and i'll end up shaving it all off again
So I do things a bit differently after a fresh bleach.
I used this for 20 minutes post bleaching yesterday:
Tumblr media
And that was after about three hours with Arctic Fox dyes sitting in it. My hair currently feels super soft but a bit dry.
For at least two months after a bleach I'll use some variety or other of intense moisture masque regularly. I generally like Palmer's Deep Conditioning mask but I just picked up some new stuff to try so I'll report back on those once I've tried them.
Day-to-Day in the shower I use Trader Joe's Shea Butter and Coconut Oil Hair Mask. Day-to-Day *after* a shower I use Cantu leave-in conditioning cream with shea butter and argan oil (any kind of argan oil, there's no brand in particular that I use).
I don't shampoo often, but when I do I use Love Beauty and Planet Mumuru Butter and Rose and I will sometimes use that conditioner as well.
If you're worried about your hair getting fried by bleaching you can also work on your bleaching process. You can get bleach with a bond repairing compound in it (Blonde Me is one brand that does this) or get a separate bond repairing serum (Olaplex is the one that everyone talks about but I think Sally Beauty has a house brand of bond repair product). You can also use a lower volume developer and a slower bleaching process to prevent damage. The photos I posted the other day are from about 45 minutes with a 20-volume developer instead of 20 minutes with a 30-volume developer and my hair feels much better than it normally does after bleaching (I have been using QuickBlue bleaching powder and it is *effective* and inexpensive, but bad for your hair - if you can afford something like Blonde Me or another system with bonding elements that will have less crunch than quickblue or prismalites or any of the cheaper brands out there).

that may be a niche question, but what do you put in your hair (if anything) to make those curls so perfect?
I use Cantu Shea Butter Shampoo & Conditioner, lightly dry my hair with a microfiber towel (scrunching only, no rubbing), then apply Miss Jessie's Multicultural Curls Curling Cream followed by Frizz Ease Dream Curls mousse (both applied while dangling my hair upside-down).
Thanks for asking!! 💖😘

Curly Hair Product Recommendations ✨
A few brands of shampoo that are sulfate-free that I personally recommend are:
Cantu Sulfate-Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo. The consistency is a little bit more on the thicker side, but it's really easy to lather. It foams up easily and feels like it's really getting into your scalp.
Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo. This has a very runny consistency, but feels light on the head. A little definitely goes a long way with this shampoo.
Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Moisturizing Shampoo. This shampoo will leave your curls feeling fresh and light. Perfect for fast-moving wash days.
Of course, these are just the brands that have worked for me personally, and your hair is almost definitely different from mine. The same shampoo can have different effects on different people. Don't be afraid to experiment with brands to see which ones work for you! Some stores, like Target, offer miniature sample-sized bottles of hair care and skincare products that you can buy to test something out before purchasing the real deal.

Thank you ♡
4. "Which cryptid do you believe in?"
Well, there's this one locally here in south appalachia, on the border of Tennessee and Georgia called, "Green Eyes." It's more a ghost tale kinda a cryptid. It lives in one of the remaining towers on the battlefield, and they say that you can see its glowing green eyes from the top of the tower. We were all told as kids that it's the spirit of a soldier that got pushed (rightly so he was a confederate) off the tower and died.
18. "What hair products do you use?"
I take great pride in maintaining/caring for my curls :') I use, "OGX Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen Shampoo." In the shower, outside the shower, I brush my hair with, "Cantu Shea butter for Natural Hair Comeback Curl." And a bit of sea salt water.
26. "A scenario you've replayed multiple times?"
I think just driving down a long stretch of highway, not may other cars around, not a solid destination in mind, but that the destination will be nature. Just enjoying myself, and being relaxed.
42. "An app you frequently use besides this godforsaken site?"
I'm not really on social media a lot besides here. I update my Instagram, maybe once or twice a month. Youtube definitely, I'm always watchin some kinda video. But I suppose other than that, Firefox, I tend to go on websites independently than use apps.

Finding the Perfect Deep Shampoo for Natural Hair
Caring for natural hair can often feel like a quest for a hidden treasure, especially when it comes to choosing the right shampoo. Natural hair has distinct texture and moisture requirements, and not every shampoo fits the bill. To keep your natural hair healthy, vibrant, and shiny, you need a deep shampoo that addresses your specific needs—whether they involve growth, scalp What Is A Good Deep Shampoo For Natural Hair health, or moisture retention. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you find the best deep shampoo for your natural hair.
Best Shampoos for Natural Hair Growth
For those prioritizing hair growth, especially when wearing protective styles, shampoos enriched with biotin, castor oil, vitamin E, and rosemary are ideal. These ingredients help stimulate the scalp, support healthy follicles, and improve circulation, all crucial for hair growth. Look for a deep shampoo that combines biotin and peppermint oil to invigorate the scalp while cleaning and refreshing your hair. Opt for sulfate-free formulas to avoid harsh chemicals that can strip natural oils and hinder growth.
Top Sulfate-Free Shampoos for Natural Hair
Sulfates, common in many shampoos, can leave natural hair dry and frizzy, making them a poor choice for curly or coiled textures. Sulfate-free shampoos, on the other hand, clean without removing essential moisture, resulting in softer, more manageable hair. Brands such as SheaMoisture, Mielle Organics, and As I Am offer sulfate-free options that cleanse deeply while maintaining hydration. These shampoos often contain natural oils and butters like coconut oil, shea butter, and argan oil to replenish moisture and keep your hair hydrated.
How to Deep Wash Natural Hair
Deep washing is essential for a thorough clean, especially after heavy product use or exposure to environmental stressors. Here’s how to deep wash natural hair effectively:
Pre-Treatment: Apply a natural oil or pre-poo treatment to protect your hair during washing.
Saturate Hair: Wet your hair thoroughly to help the shampoo spread easily.
Shampoo Application: Apply shampoo to your scalp and roots, massaging gently with your fingertips to remove dirt and buildup.
Detangle: Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to detangle your hair while the shampoo is in, reducing breakage.
Rinse and Repeat: If necessary, repeat the shampooing process to ensure all buildup is removed.
Natural Shampoos for Dandruff
Dandruff can be troublesome, but natural shampoos with ingredients like tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, and salicylic acid can help. These ingredients soothe the scalp and tackle flakes without irritation. A great choice is Briogeo’s Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo, which detoxifies with charcoal and nourishes with coconut oil.
Best Drugstore Deep Shampoos for Natural Hair
Quality deep shampoos don’t have to be expensive. Affordable options from drugstore brands like Cantu, Aussie Moist, and OGX offer excellent hydration and cleansing properties for natural hair. For instance, Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo, enriched with avocado and jojoba oil, delivers nourishment without a hefty price tag. Cantu Shea Butter for Natural Hair Sulfate-Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo is another great drugstore pick known for its gentle cleansing and deep moisturizing qualities.
Top Shampoos for 4C Hair
4C hair, known for its tight coils and tendency to dry out, benefits from thick, creamy shampoos packed with emollients. Look for products containing coconut oil, shea butter, and olive oil to lock in moisture and prevent breakage. Mielle Organics Babassu Oil Conditioning Shampoo is ideal for 4C hair as it moisturizes while cleansing. Pair it with a deep conditioning treatment to keep your hair soft and manageable.
Best Shampoos for Hair Growth and Thickness Without Chemicals
If you’re aiming for hair growth and thickness without harmful chemicals, choose shampoos free from parabens, sulfates, silicones, and artificial fragrances. NatureLab Tokyo’s Perfect Volume Shampoo, with rice protein and apple stem cells, promotes natural growth and thickness. Another excellent option is Pura D’or Anti-Hair Thinning Shampoo, rich in biotin and argan oil, which strengthens and supports hair growth.
Top Shampoos and Conditioners for Natural Hair Growth
For optimal hair growth, use a shampoo and conditioner duo that strengthens and hydrates. TGIN’s Moisture Rich Sulfate-Free Shampoo and Conditioner Duo is an excellent choice, offering cleansing without stripping and deep moisture replenishment. Alternatively, SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Shampoo and Conditioner provide reparative ingredients that support growth and thickness.

Discover the Benefits of Cantu Body Lotion: Nourish Your Skin with Every Application
When it comes to body care, finding a lotion that deeply nourishes your skin without leaving it greasy can be a challenge. Enter Cantu Body Lotion, a product that has gained popularity for its rich, moisturizing formula and ability to cater to various skin types. Whether you have dry, sensitive, or normal skin, Cantu Body Lotion is designed to provide long-lasting hydration and a soft, smooth finish. In this article, we’ll explore the benefits of Cantu Body Lotion and why it might be the perfect addition to your skincare routine.
Tumblr media
Hydration for All Skin Types
One of the standout features of Cantu Body Lotion is its ability to deeply hydrate the skin. Formulated with a blend of shea butter, cocoa butter, and vitamin E, this lotion is designed to penetrate the skin's surface, delivering moisture where it’s needed most. These ingredients are known for their nourishing properties, making the lotion ideal for those with dry or rough skin.
For those with sensitive skin, Cantu Body Lotion is free from harsh chemicals and parabens, making it gentle enough for daily use. Its non-greasy formula ensures that your skin feels soft and smooth without any heavy residue, making it a great choice for all skin types.
Rich, Natural Ingredients
Cantu is renowned for using high-quality, natural ingredients in their products, and their body lotion is no exception. The inclusion of shea butter, a key ingredient, provides intense moisture while helping to improve the skin's elasticity. Shea butter is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which can help soothe irritated skin.
Cocoa butter, another essential ingredient, is rich in fatty acids, which help to lock in moisture and protect the skin from environmental damage. Combined with vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant, Cantu Body Lotion not only moisturizes but also helps to protect your skin from the signs of aging.
Lightweight and Fast-Absorbing
One of the common issues with many body lotions is that they can feel heavy or take a long time to absorb into the skin. Cantu Body Lotion stands out in this regard with its lightweight, fast-absorbing formula. This makes it perfect for morning routines when you need to get dressed quickly without waiting for your lotion to sink in.
The lotion leaves a subtle, pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering, making it suitable for everyday use. Whether you’re applying it after a shower or before heading out, Cantu Body Lotion ensures your skin stays hydrated and comfortable throughout the day.
Perfect for Daily Use
Daily use of Cantu Body Lotion can significantly improve the texture and appearance of your skin. Its rich, emollient formula helps to smooth out rough patches, such as elbows and knees, and keeps your skin looking healthy and radiant. Regular application can also help maintain your skin's natural moisture barrier, preventing dryness and irritation.
For best results, apply the lotion immediately after showering or bathing when your skin is still slightly damp. This helps to lock in moisture and ensures that your skin stays soft and hydrated for longer.

Natural curly hair care - The Curl Nation Article Submission
Natural Curly Hair Care: A Comprehensive Guide
Introduction
Natural curly hair is a unique and beautiful hair type that requires specialized care to maintain its health and manageability. Unlike straight or wavy hair, curly hair has its own set of challenges, from managing frizz to ensuring adequate moisture. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of natural curly hair care, covering everything from understanding your curl type to developing a personalized hair care routine.
Understanding Your Curl Type
Curly hair comes in various types, ranging from loose waves to tight coils. Natural Curly hair are categorized  into four main types:
Wavy
Curly
Coily/Kinky
Understanding your curl type is essential for selecting the right products and techniques to care for your hair.
The Science Behind Curly Hair
The structure of curly hair differs significantly from straight hair. Curly hair follicles are oval or asymmetrical, which causes the hair to grow in a spiral pattern. This unique structure makes it more difficult for the natural oils produced by the scalp to travel down the hair shaft, leading to dryness and frizz. Additionally, curly hair is more prone to breakage due to its twists and turns.
Developing a Curly Hair Care Routine
1. Cleansing
Cleansing is the first step in any hair care routine. For curly hair, it's essential to use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo that won't strip the hair of its natural oils. Over-washing can lead to dryness, so aim to wash your hair no more than 1-2 times a week.
Recommended Products:
SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo
DevaCurl No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser
2. Conditioning
Conditioning is crucial for curly hair as it helps to restore moisture and detangle the hair. Use a rich, moisturizing conditioner and consider incorporating a deep conditioning treatment once a week.
Recommended Products:
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner
Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Conditioner
3. Detangling
Detangling curly hair should be done with care to prevent breakage. Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to gently detangle your hair while it's wet and coated with conditioner.
Detangling Tips:
Start from the ends and work your way up.
Use a leave-in conditioner or detangling spray for added slip.
4. Moisturizing
Curly hair needs constant moisture to stay healthy and manageable. After washing and conditioning, apply a leave-in conditioner or a moisturizing cream to damp hair. This helps to lock in moisture and define your curls.
Recommended Products:
Kinky-Curly Knot Today Leave-In Conditioner
Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream
Styling Techniques for Curly Hair
1. Air Drying vs. Diffusing
Air drying is the gentlest method for drying curly hair, as it helps to maintain the natural curl pattern without causing frizz. However, if you prefer to use a hairdryer, always use a diffuser attachment to distribute the heat evenly and minimize frizz.
2. Curl Defining
Curl defining products, such as gels, creams, and mousses, help to enhance and hold your natural curl pattern. Apply these products to damp hair, scrunching your curls from the ends upwards to encourage curl formation.
Recommended Products:
Eco Styler Professional Styling Gel
Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls
3. Protective Hairstyles
Protective hairstyles, such as braids, twists, and buns, help to minimize manipulation and reduce the risk of breakage. These styles also protect your hair from environmental stressors.
Common Curly Hair Challenges and Solutions
1. Frizz Control
Frizz is a common issue for curly hair, caused by a lack of moisture and humidity. To combat frizz, use anti-frizz serums or oils, and avoid touching your hair too much throughout the day.
Recommended Products:
Moroccanoil Treatment
John Frieda Frizz Ease Extra Strength Serum
2. Shrinkage
Shrinkage occurs when curly hair appears shorter than it actually is due to the tight curl pattern. While shrinkage is natural, you can reduce its impact by stretching your curls with techniques such as banding or twist-outs.
3. Breakage
Curly hair is more susceptible to breakage due to its twists and turns. To prevent breakage, handle your hair gently, avoid excessive heat styling, and get regular trims to keep your ends healthy.
Nighttime Hair Care
Proper nighttime hair care is essential for maintaining healthy curls. Use a satin or silk pillowcase to reduce friction and prevent frizz. Alternatively, wrap your hair in a satin or silk scarf or use a bonnet to protect your curls while you sleep.
Embracing Your Natural Curls
Embracing your natural curls is all about understanding and working with your hair's unique texture. Experiment with different products and techniques to find what works best for you. Remember that healthy hair is beautiful hair, so prioritize the health of your curls over everything else.
Conclusion
Natural curly hair care requires a thoughtful approach and the right products to maintain its health and beauty. By understanding your curl type, developing a personalized hair care routine, and addressing common challenges, you can embrace your natural curls and enjoy their unique beauty. Whether you're new to curly hair care or looking to improve your routine, this guide provides a comprehensive roadmap to mastering your curls.
