December Writing Prompts
November didn't go as planned but whatever. It's Christmas time now. The following are a list of Winter/Christmas-themed prompts.
Going camping at a cabin in the winter // Snuggling up at a cabin for a weekend // Staying at a ski resort
INSPIRED THE PLOT: A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
Watching the Christmas classics together
Making Christmas cookies and/or desserts
Character accidentally wishes for it to be Christmas every day and it comes true
Decorating the house for Christmas // Buying/Bringing home/Putting up the Christmas tree
Sharing/Remembering Christmas memories
Christmas morning
Listening to Christmas music // Child has a Christmas concert/pageant
Christmas shopping
The smell of Christmas trees/cinnamon/any scent that makes you think of Christmas
Christmas wishes (normal ones, not like prompt 5)
Character A has cold hands/feet and Character B warms them up
Falling in love throughout the month of December
Being with family/Having, and making, a family dinner on Christmas Eve or Christmas night
Getting cozy by the fireplace
Experiencing the first snow of the season
Character A notices Character B is cold and gives them their coat
Getting snowed in
Making gingerbread men and/or a gingerbread house
Hot cocoa
Going ice skating
It's Christmas Eve and the snowstorm outside caused a complete blackout for the whole night
Writing a letter to Santa // Visiting and getting pictures taken with Santa
Sharing a moment at midnight on Christmas Eve/Day or New Years Eve/Day
The Most Magical Time of the Year
Naughty/Nice OPTION 1: Much like the Trick-or-Treat game from my Halloween prompts, it's a Truth or Dare-ish type of game
Naughty/Nice OPTION 2: Write a Nice story (G-rated, wholesome content), then rewrite it as a Naughty story (explicit and definitely not wholesome content)
Office Christmas parties don't have to be boring
Wrapping presents late at night on Christmas Eve
Red & Green
Silver & Gold
Character dresses up as Santa Claus for an event/family gathering/for Character B's kid(s)
Characters A & B have to play Santa & Mrs. Claus for a night. Perk: They do not like each other and are forced to play nice for the kids ... but, as the night goes on, their feelings for each other change
Santa Claus is real
Candles and a character's love of/obsession with them
Sharing a blanket on a cold night
Going sledding
Riding in a sleigh
SNOW DAY FUN
Warming up in a big bathtub
A couple gets cozy underneath the lit up Christmas tree
Two people (friends/lovers/enemies-to-lovers) in a store/mall over Christmas (just ignore the fact that everyone has phones, and stores and malls have security cameras or guards and the situation would, in reality, get resolved quickly)
'Twas the Night Before Christmas ...
They nearly burn the house down (baking goes awry/fireplace/candles [way too many candles in such a small space]/decorations can be a fire hazard)
Getting stranded on Christmas Eve (in a stalled or stuck car/at the airport/at someone else's home/in an elevator/at a hotel or motel, without their luggage or with less luggage than they'd brought with them)
Mistletoe (meeting someone for the first time under one/potential couple meeting under one, accidentally or intentionally/accidentally meeting under one with someone they don't like/doing something other than kissing under one)
A Hallmark-style fic

Jse ego winter prompts-Days 15/16= dance with me+snowed in.
he lulu i heard you wanted some comedyduo c!jack and anti some i wrote some.
It was a cold dreary winter in Brighton for Jack seeing as how the sky was a dark grey with snow coming down like thunder and man was he depressed because he had plans to see some friends he hasn't seen for a long time. Man it sure is depressing outside. Hm maybe i can find a way to entertain myself somehow. Hmm oh I know that's a perfect idea so jack ran to the living room setting up the game console. It had been a couple of hours since anti had heard anything from jack so he went to investigate where jack even was and was met with the sight of jack playing just dance. It was a funny sight that made anti start hysterical laughing out loud. Jack was taken back by the laughter but turned around and offer anti if he wanted to play. Oh hey ant come dance with me, it's great exercise. Heh no hell no even, i'd rather stand on legos that dance and get all sweaty. Ack just do it it’ll be fun grumpy pants. Fine but im gonna beat you in everyone and so anti and jack had a ball of laughs and passed out on the couch.

December Writing... Journey? Writemas? I Don't Know What To Call This - Day 1
Divider
I found a list of prompts for seasonal writing, and I wrote the first one and decided it would be more fun to connect all of the prompts together in a short story. (The list was made by somebody else for their own writing but I lifted it I'm sorry 😔)
I'm not going to give a number I'm aiming for because I don't want to feel guilty for not reaching it. It's a short story that takes place around the 3/4 mark of Blue Cataclysm, during the timeline of events but separated from the main plot.
Summary:
Wrote 735 words, nothing exciting just a morning routine and setting up the main oddity (?) of the story. I realised at the end of the day that I was going to need to go back to the beginning and add some setup, but I'll do that when I feel like it...
I want to try hard to not feel pressured to do this during December because god knows I'm busy enough, and focusing on word count has never been good for me.

Day 7: Fresh Baked Cookies
There are countless joys in this job—the happiness I bring to children all over the world, the breathtaking sights I see on my journey. Every year, I marvel at landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, the Great Sphinx, the Space Needle, and the Grand Canyon. And, of course, there’s the companionship of my trusty, magical reindeer. But if I’m being honest, the best part of the night? The fresh baked cookies
It’s a tradition, after all, to leave milk and cookies for jolly ole Saint Nick—a small thank-you for the presents I leave under the tree. There’s nothing quite like the crispy outside, the warm gooey center, and a cold glass of milk to wash it all down. I work up quite the appetite going from house to house, and those treats keep me going. A little secret: with a pinch of North Pole snow, a dash of reindeer shed, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic, I can whip up one mean traveling spell. It lets me transform into a winter breeze, slipping from house to house in the blink of an eye. For longer distances, I rely on the sleigh and my loyal team. This year was just like any other. Magical, of course, but predictable in all the best ways. Or so I thought. My route took me to a trailer park deep in Alabama. I don’t hold it against anyone if they don’t leave cookies out—times are tough, and not everyone can spare the ingredients. So, imagine my surprise when I spotted one of the finest plates of cookies I’d ever seen. Thick chunks of chocolate, edges just shy of burnt, and the aroma still hanging in the air like they’d come straight out of the oven. These weren’t just cookies; they were masterpieces. I couldn’t help myself. I was going to savor one or two, leave a few crumbs as evidence, and let the family keep the rest. But as I took my first bite, sharp pain shot up from my knee, and a deafening crack echoed through the trailer. Before I could even process what happened, I hit the ground hard. Blows rained down on me, one after another, relentless and unforgiving. I raised my arms to shield myself, my mind racing to make sense of the chaos. And then I saw him. A young boy, gripping a baseball bat like a weapon, was swinging at me with everything he had. He wasn’t just swinging. He was aiming.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the blows stopped. I lay on the ground, aching and gasping for breath. The boy loomed over me, his chest puffed out with pride, a mix of disgust and triumph on his face. He jabbed a finger toward me. “Don’t you dare steal our cookies! Those are our cookies!” I tried to respond, maybe say something like, This is all a misunderstanding or I’m so sorry, but before I could get a word out, a voice thundered from the doorway. “Yeah, you show him, boy! Get ‘em! Get ‘em good!” The boy’s father, a shadowy figure in the dimly lit trailer, was cheering him on. His voice carried a strange mix of encouragement and rage, and it made my heart sink. Before I could act, the boy tightened his grip on the bat and started swinging again. He was relentless, every blow more ferocious than the last. I reached for my pocket, desperate to grab some snow and reindeer fur, but the pain was unbearable. The bat connected with my ribs—crack!—and I felt something give way inside me. I coughed violently, tasting blood as it filled my mouth. My arms, already weak, were shaking uncontrollably. I tried to shield my head, but it only made the agony worse. Every swing left me more battered, more broken. And then, just as suddenly as before, he stopped. .
The boy grabbed one of the cookies from the plate, took a massive bite, and glared down at me. His voice was muffled through the mouthful of cookie. “Yeah, think twice before robbing us!” From the doorway, his father hollered again, stepping closer. “You tell him, boy! Don’t steal from us!” I could barely move. My arms were useless, my body screaming in pain. But somehow, through sheer terror and adrenaline, my trembling hand found my pocket. With the last of my strength, I grasped the snow and fur. Woosh! In an instant, I was gone, swept up in a winter breeze and carried back to my sleigh. I collapsed into the driver’s seat, my red suit tattered and stained with blood. My chest heaved, every breath a struggle. The reindeer glanced back at me, their glowing eyes full of concern, but I couldn’t muster the strength to reassure them. I didn’t finish my route that night. Let’s just say I’ll be a little more cautious about fresh-baked cookies from now on.

December Writing Prompts
Things are going to be a bit different this month. This seems like a very bad idea for me because I haven't really been accomplishing everything every month this year, but let's go with it.
Now, there are two main writing themes this month, because I couldn't narrow things down to just 12.
December's main writing prompts are:
Blast from the Fanfiction Past. The idea is to go back and rewrite a very old fic of yours, from when you first started writing fanfiction, whether or not you ever posted it. :::OR::: Go back and watch a show you loved watching long time ago and go write a fic for it.
It's the Most Magical Time of the Year. A holiday/winter-themed story, or stories. (see the optional prompts below for ideas).
The optional prompts are categorized because there are a lot of them.
OTP HOLIDAY:
Cuddling, wrapped in soft blankets in front of a fireplace.
Warming up in a big bathtub/hot tub.
Getting snowed in.
It's Christmas Eve and the storm outside caused a complete blackout for the whole night.
We just wanted to make some cookies but now we are lying on the floor, panting and completely covered in flour.
HOLIDAY PROMPTS:
Christmas Classic (Rudolph, Frosty, etc.)
Snowman
Santa Claus
Tree
The Christmas Carol
Cabin in Winter
Wishes
Christmas Shopping
Family
Christmas Music
Naughty/Nice
Red & Green
SONG FICS:
I'll Be Home for Christmas
Blue Christmas
White Christmas
Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
This Christmas
The Twelve Days of Christmas
All I Want for Christmas is You (Mariah Carey)
Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
Winter Wonderland
Sleigh Ride
Please Come Home for Christmas
Santa Baby
Mistletoe (Colbie Caillat)
Baby, It's Cold Outside (a non-predatory version because it probably can be done so as not to sound like SVU needs to be called in)
No quotes this month. Just an overwhelming amount of prompts I may not get to, but here's hoping.

Jse ego winter prompt-Day 8- baby it’s cold outside.
Leobashi winter AU enough said.
It was a cold winter night and Chase just got the kids to bed and was ready to get to bed himself when he noticed a figure coming towards the house. Hm strange why would anyone be out in this kind of weather, maybe they're lost and need help so Chase got back up and headed back out to meet said person but when Chase opened the door there wasn't a person in sight. Hm strange could of thought i saw someone, must be my imagination or the lack of sleep finally getting to me. Well don't tread on it for too long so Chase turned around and went to bed dreaming of some of the stories his mother used to tell about monsters in the woods and especially about the embodiments of the four seasons, Chase wishing he could meet them in person. Chase woke early in the morning making breakfast for the kids, come on you two, you don't wanna be late to see your grandma and grandpa do you. No but dad why do we have to go, why can't we stay here with you all year round. Well your education for one thing plus you've both got friends that will miss you if you stay here. Well yes but wont you get lonely. Na your old man can handle himself. Alright if you say so. Good now you two eat your oatmeal and get dressed. We'll be leaving soon. Okay but can we visit mom’s grave before we get dropped off. Alright we’ll visit before dropping you off so chase and his kids went to the cemetery, prayed for a bit, then chase dropped the kids off with their grandparents for the new year, then trekked back to the cabin.
By the time chase got half way there it was already sometime in the evening. Hm got to start dinner then chop some wood for the fire better hurry up before something out here has ME for dinner so chase picked up the pace to get home quicker when he noticed he passed a certain tree twice already. Strange I passed this tree already must be in one of those fae traps I kept hearing from Angus. Now what did he tell me if i was ever in one, hm lets see he said if i ever got caught in one all i have to do is turn back right? No ive gotta find it and kill, right?Eh i cant remember what to do and mom never told me about fairies before. I guess I could walk back and find a different route so Chase turned around and went back to a half way point when he noticed he felt like he was being watch but Chase looked around and couldn’t find anyone around. Hm must be paranoia getting to me but then Chase felt a heavy weight on his shoulders and collapsed into the snow but he tried getting up and failed miserably what with this weight I feel so heavy and tired, like I can’t keep my eyes open Chase started to panic but couldn’t find the strength so he quickly passed out and when he woke up he was back at his cabin under the blankets. What? How’d I’d end up back here? But Chase couldn’t find the source of his questions till he heard a bang from his kitchen so Chase quickly got up to investigate the noise and was met with the sight of a man with snow white hair. Verdammt blöder Herd(god damn stupid stove.) The sight was hilarious seeing as how whoever this was didn't know how to use a stove that chased let out a laugh that startled the strange man. Gah-your still supposed to be asleep human-this is a dream I'm not real but that just made chase laugh harder till finally chase composed himself. Hah ah sorry dude for laughing but the sight just tickled me fun is all, anyways who are you? My name is Hendrick. Hm it's nice to meet you Hendrick and thanks for saving me from a cold death. Um you're welcome chase now if you'll excuse me i should be going, um human you should be more careful from now on. Hm alright thanks for the advice winter spirit. WHAT HOW DID-the hair it gave you away-N-no it's a fashion choice. Right fashion choice we’ll go with that anyways thanks again for that and be safe my dude. Hm right and with that the spirit vanished into a flurry of white and left. Hm so that was the winter spirit, he’s cute.
