Purple panne coat, draped by an "art nouveau" buckle surrounded by small purple velvets. The bottom and the facings are with an iris design in crumpled taffeta, natural tones.

Manteau en hermine et zibeline. L’hermine cesse sous une guirlande de roses incrustée en taffetas et panne peints. Volants de mousseline de soie blanche semée de roses et pétales incrustés en taffetas et panne, avec çà et là, du strass en gouttes de rosée. Col, revers et bandes de zibeline à l intérieur du vêtement.

Coat in ermine and sable. The ermine ends under a garland of roses inlaid in painted taffeta and panne. Ruffles of white silk muslin sown with roses and petals inlaid in taffeta and panne, with here and there, rhinestones in dewdrops. Collar, lapels and bands of sable inside the garment.

Amethyst velvet coat, with ermine collar and lapels. The top embroidered with gold braid and guipure forming a bolero. Same gold braid on the sleeves. Inner sleeves in mauve chiffon. Gold and opal clasp.

James held Regulus against him as the other boy fell asleep. He kept stroking Regulus’s hair as he thought about what Regulus had said. ‘Give me a second, and I’ll repay the debt.’ It wasn’t just the words but the way he’d said them. Had Regulus’s past partners demanded he reciprocate? James was sure Regulus had had previous sexual encounters, he was far too comfortable not to be. But still, the thought that Regulus felt he had to niggled away at him until he began to doze off. The warmth of the body snuggled into his side, and the comfy bed lulled him to sleep. 

When he woke, Regulus was shuffling beside him. It was only when a whimper escaped his lips that James realised he was having a nightmare. 

“No… Please… Mother, I’m sorry…NOOOOO!!!!” Regulus screamed and James pulled him onto his lap, holding him tight and cooing soft words into his ear. 

“Come on, love, wake up, you’re safe. Shhh, wake up, sweetheart,” These nightmares were nothing new to James. He’d been rocking Sirius through them since they were eleven. They’d lessened some since he’d run away from Grimmauld Place, but James suspected they would be a permanent part of both Black brothers’s lives. James was determined to help them the best he could. The best they would allow him to.

Regulus’s eyelids fluttered open. His eyes darted around the unfamiliar room. James felt him relax when his eyes settled on James, and it made his heart squeeze almost painfully.

“James?” Regulus rasped. 

“It's alright, love,” James murmured gently, bushing sweat-drenched curls off Regulus’s face. “It was just a nightmare, I’ve got you,” Regulus let out a shuddering sigh and buried his face in James’s shoulder, pressing sweet, little, barely there kisses to his skin. 

James shifted them so they were lying down again and gathered Regulus as close to his body as possible. “Sleep, love, I’ll keep those nightmares at bay,” He pressed a kiss to Regulus’s forehead as the Slytherin drifted back off to sleep, nestled safely in James’s arms.

In consequence of a Donation given unto us

prisoners confined in [illegible] prison by the citizens

of St. Louis Dec. 25, 1864, we the prisoners of said

prison Do this 26th Dec 1864, Think that it is

our duty as a grateful people to hold a meeting

for the purpose of showing our gratitude unto the

Donors, and all those that have used their efforts

in distributing the same. On motion of J. C. Couzins

Mr. T. M. Northcutt was called to the chair. The

chairman was requested to state the object of the

meeting which was made known by a few

brief remarks. On motion of Mr. T. H. Beckett,

Mr. John C. F[illegible] was appointed Secretary, on motion

of J. E. E[illegible] a committee of 20 was appointed

to draft resolutions expressive of the sense of the

[illegible]ing. Thereupon the Chair appointed the following

named persons: J. C. Couzins, D Howe, T. H.

Beckett, Dr. John Hart, John Moffitt, J. Hoggs, David

Hampton, R. E. Wild, John Lowry, O. R. Horn, [Y?]. J.

Wright, [S. J.?] McLain, John Hall, J. M. L[illegible],

M. M. Harrington, George [Bobhill?], John Brewer,

R. G. [Mercer?], W. H. L[illeible]berry, Frank Dodd.

The Committee made following Report:

Whereas we the Committee in behalf of the Prisoners

of Gratiot would Respectfully Report as follows.

That having been the recipient of a most magnificent

Christmas Dinner, Donated to us by the citizens

of St. Louis. Therefore Be it Resolved 1st That we tender

our thanks unto the Donors of this Christmas

repast of which we the prisoners of Gratiot have

been the Recipients.

2nd Resolved! That we also tender Our sincere

thanks unto Maj Genl Dodge Commanding

the Dept of the Mo. Col W. C. Davis Provost Mar

Genl of the same and Lieut Col Hendricks

Inspector Genl and Superintendent of Military

prisons for permitting us to be the recipient

of this most magnificent repast.

3rd Resolved! That we return respectfully our kindest

regards unto Capt Allen and all of his

subordinate officers for the amble facilites which

were afforded us in enjoying this with luxury.

4th Resolved! That we return our most sincere and

heartfelt thanks to the Sisters of Charity and

Mercy for their uniform kindness and generosity

toward the prisoners of Gratiot, And more especially

for their liberal exertions in distributing

the same unto us on the day above named.

5th Resolved! That the City papers be requested

to publish the forgoing preamble and resolutions.

On motion the meeting adjourned.

Brant (Branta bernicla)

Conservation Status- Least Concern

Habitat- Canada; Alaska; Eastern Siberia

Size (Weight/Length)- 2 kg; 65 cm; 120 cm wingspan

Diet- Eel-grass; Seaweed; Sea lettuce

Cool Facts- While lesser known than the Canada goose, the brant deserves just as much love. These geese never leave their coastal home, sticking to the saltwater. Brant feast on aquatic plants, using salt glands in their nares to excrete excess salt through their boogers. Brant used to exclusively feast on eel-grass, until 1931 when eel-grass almost went extinct due to a slime mold infesting the waters. The brant population dropped massively, at least until they learned that sea lettuce and seaweed made a great diet substitute. Today, they number half a million individuals.
