the truth is that I could never understand why the Doctor's eleventh incarnation was the one Clara might crush on. if she was going to pursue a romantic relationship with any of his faces, his tenth is more her type. and they would destroy each other-

The Birthday Countdown so far:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's the weekend and I'm still ill. This dodgy cough will not leave and it's very annoying. These are the art work for the Fifteen, Fourteen and Thirteen.
The theme of Halloween was accidental but considering my Birthday is on the 10th of October I think it suits.
More is on the way I've just got to work out what to do for today's (Twelfth Doctor).
That and because it's the weekend I'm going to try to fix my stories so that their at least readable.
Starting to think that giving myself a challenge on creating a piece of artwork and write a short story, on the same time, around the same timeframe was probably a stupid idea...😬
Ah well...
Hope you enjoy and I appreciate any comments.
1st October Update: I logged myself out of Tumblr oops.
BUT I MADE MORE!
28th September '24 (Twelve days)
Tumblr media
29th September '24 (Eleven Days)
Tumblr media
30th September '24 (Ten Days)
Tumblr media
Now onto to today as in 9 days.
There's only one story that resonates horror with me...stay tuned.
1st October '24 (9 Days) [Finished a minute before Midnight - ugh]
Have to say there wasn't a lot to use from this episode image wise so I had to wing it.
Tumblr media
I'm out of sync now. Oops.
Finished off the piece for Eight but I'm not happy about it...
Curses!
It looks so bad.
For 2nd October.
Tumblr media
Sylvester and Colin are on the way tomorrow.
man I need sleep...
Tumblr media
Like a proper big nap.
I'm so tired man...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Did I mention how tired I am yet?
I shouldn't complain. I have a week off work and my Birthday's on the Thursday. 4 day *checks computer clock* THREE DAYS LEFT!!! D:
Tumblr media
God I hate this one...ugh. Don't look at it.

Eleventh Doctor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have a hot take, I think Eleven is better than Ten.
Reason?.......I'm not telling you guys the reason because it's just my opinion, and everyone is allowed opinions, so please just be respectful.
Also, just to clarify, I don't hate Ten at all. I love the Tenth Doctor era so much because Ten is my first Doctor, and he introduced me to Doctor who. but Eleven is the reason why I'm still obsessed with Doctor who.
#eleventh doctor#doctor who#matt smith#tenth doctor#david tennent#i just think Ten is a Doctor people always watch first because hes pretty so that means people always end up missing out on nine#then because they like ten so much they sometimes become very closed minded and have to much high expectations#yes its okay to have expectations but people wanting David Tennant back permanently as the doctor because they don't like the writing#or casting is a bit stupid. just enjoy the show mate#and if you dont like the new writing or casting just switch it off stop bloody moaning#Doctor who is for everyone and not everyone is going to like the same thing#and certainly not everyone wants to have david back just becuse youre feeling nostalgic and cant handle change#just accept that#i love eleven because hes the kind of doctor that acts happy but really hes just really good and putting on a face#hes super dark and his stories are absolutely amazing#some are scarily underrated like why is no one talking about these more#even though there was some romace in elevens run it wasn't constantly and i actually liked river#i cant stand s2 rose#she became so boring in s2 which sucked because i loved s1 rose she was so sassy and spunky#in s2 she just becomes......idk theres nothing she just becomes annoying#i used to love tens era as a kid but as ive gotten older the more ive actually gone......ughh cant be arsed to watch#and thats because its just....it takes a lot of effort for me to watch ten#and almost every person ive met saying ten is their favorite#doesn't helo at all especially when they say they only watch ten and completely ignore the others#it just makes me so bloody annoyed like if youre gonna watch it WATCH THE OTEHRS TOO AND DONT SKIP NINE#im so sorry for that rant im just so tired of hearing about ten#i just wanna hear people talk about 9#11#12#and 13

There's a poll going around on which Nuwho Doctor you could take in a fight and I don't wanna limit it to just choosing one so here's my very official and correct ranking of in Doctor vs Me who would win:
Twelve: Twelve straight up can and probably will beat me to death. Please do not make me fight Doctor Disco she has a guitar and he WILL use it like a steel chair against me. Also there's a decent chance I deserved it.
Nine: Can beat me to death but I'm PRETTY sure I could talk her out of it. For as much as Nine is a Bitch TM (EXTREMELY complimentary) I think I COULD be like "cmon man you don't wanna kill me :( aren't you tired of going apeshit?? don't you just want to be nice??" and he'd be like yeah okay :/
Fifteen: The only nuwho Doctor that I know actually goes to the gym and has a consistent workout. They would absolutely beat me in a fight but I think it'd be like a bar fight where we would go out for drinks and become best friends afterwards. I have a broken nose and I'm just like "oh yeah that came from my good buddy The Doctor :)!"
Thirteen: This is the most even match I'm not sure either one of us would win as much as we'd both be walking away with some serious wounds. We are both short kings and both of us would fight absolutely NASTY. There is a LOT of biting and hair pulling and scratching and kicking involved. One of us is leaving with a torn off earlobe and I genuinely do not know which one of us it is.
Ten: King of having a glass jaw. This Doctor gets knocked tf out SO many times. Like sure he's scrappy and Much taller than me but also every time I see David Tennant I'm like. Yeah I could probably pick that man up and throw him a good few feet. She gets a few good hits in but ultimately I am winning this fight.
Eleven: I am so sorry to both the Eleventh Doctor and to Matt Smith but they are EASILY the most punchable doctor. His face and clothes and demeanor all add up to an extremely specific type of like male computer science/physics double major that brings out the fucking worst in me. I am turning into a chimpazee that you made eye contact with. There is a 75% chance I'm straight up killing that man. I want cool house mother Doctor Disco and that regeneration is happening MUCH sooner.
Fourteen: From a physical standpoint? The Doctor I straight up could win in a fight easiest. As i stated with Ten I'm pretty sure I could pick him up and throw him but Fourteen wouldn't fight back. She is NOT scrappy her rage is burning out in seconds he is so so sad and wet. Wet paper towel of a man. I could take 'em down. I would feel so so so bad about it though.

hello!! sorry, i just finished watching new who and i am DYING for more thoschei content. i know classic who has more obviously but i heard there are like also books and audio dramas and comics and infinite other stuff (?) and i was wondering if you could recommend like a list of things to stream in order to get to know more of these two idiots (affectionate) as i am a bit lost in between all the content. or if you could point out a source where i can look that up for myself, it would be great as well! thank you so much in advance <3 and sorry if this seems silly i am v new to the fandom rip
hey anon!! no need to apologize, i'm honored this ask ended up in my inbox! :) and it's not silly at all, there's a LOT of stuff out there. which is wonderful! but can def be a bit bewildering, too.
i'd definitely recommend classic who as a place to start! don't feel like you need to go in headfirst w/ s1e1 tho. just jump in wherever interests you! if you'd like a slightly more curated d/m list:
terror of the autons/the mind of evil/the claws of axos: okay, so it was almost impossible for me not to just rec “all the three & delgado eps,” so have the first three & feel free to continue on if you find yourself loving them (you will)
the keeper of traken/logopolis/castrovalva: a proper lil trilogy of stories that gives us four -> five & beevers -> ainley
survival: the final dw ep! seven & ainley 😼
for some not-really-classic but still on-screen essentials:
the tv movie: aka “the enemy within.” eight & roberts 🐍
scream of the shalka: an animated webcast that at one point rly was the canonical ninth doctor. shalka!doctor (r. e. grant) & shalka!master (jacobi. yes, again. or previously, rather.)
the curse of fatal death: a comic relief sketch written by moffat which features a het version of d/m getting together romantically (now why does that sound familiar?)
for audios, here's a couple that are both standalone & very d/m-focused:
master: seven & beevers. a great audio ft. an origin story that is probably one of the most talked abt things on tumblr, so def check this one out!!
the last line: ten & jacobi. when you're on trial, who do you call for help? your best enemy, of course
blood of the time lords: four & dreyfus. a must-include for me personally bc it has one of my fave d/m concepts ever :)
for books, once you're in the deep end all the novelizations of the classic d/m eps can have great tidbits. some original story recs:
the dark path: two & “koschei.” another origin story that gave us that name for a pre-master master, written by our d/m comrade-in-arms david mcintee
harvest of time: three & delgado working together & confronting the past w/ a lovely dose of master angst
the infinity doctors: infinity & the magistrate <3. don't let these names or its timeline placement intimidate you, just go into it with the idea that this is an au (ish) where the doctor & the master both returned to gallifrey & you'll enjoy yourself!
and finally some comics:
flashback: another origin story which i've uploaded here :)
the eleventh doctor year two: the eleventh doctor confronts the time war ft. my fave lil guy the war child master!
doctor who: missy: aka “the master plan.” missy breaks delgado out of stormcage while pretending to be a version of the doctor he hasn't met yet
hopefully these will get you started! for even more, the main resource i use when looking for d/m stuff is the theory timelines for the master & the master's incarnations on the wiki! i just poke around & click links until i find something that sounds interesting! enjoy!!! :)

Hello again, thank you very much for your story, you did a great job, keep it up! 👍
As for the request, can I please ask you to write a story about how the reader fell in love with Susan Foreman (the Doctor's granddaughter), about how inseparable they were until one day she just disappeared for no reason.
About how the reader searched for her all over London but without results.
And about how he stayed waiting for her for years at the very dump where he last saw her.
So far, one day the Doctor (his eleventh incarnation), walking around London with Amy and Rory, notices an already aged reader and remembers that he forgot to tell him that there is no point in waiting for Susan's return.
Hi i am so sorry this took so long.
An old friend
masterlist
dr who masterlist
The doctor froze mid-step his gaze locked on an older man sitting at a small cafe on the corner of the street they were on.
"doctor why are you staring at that poor man?" Amy's voice broke him out of his trance his hair blowing back from his face due to the wind.
"come along ponds i'v got to see an old friend" the doctor smiled leaving Amy and Rory confused as they watched the time lord walk over to the cafe where the man was sitting.
"Hello, are you {Y/N} by any chance" The doctor made you jump from your seat a little.
"I am indeed {y/n} young man do you need something?" you asked setting down your book.
it was one of her favours. the doctor thought looking at the book.
"Doctor what are we doing"Amy asked looking between the two men.
"doctor I know a man called the doctor back in my day grumpy old man with a kind heart" you chuckled at the memory of the doctor.
"yes I know I am that doctor unless there is some other creature running around pretending to be me again, "the doctor said a looped-sided grin pulled at his face.
"haha I'm sorry young man but my doctor is probably dead by now talking 1963" you said lifting up your mug and taking a sip of the hot liquid.
"yes, and I had to get Ian to drag you kicking and screaming when Suzan left us for David" You froze your eyes wide.
"I how do you know Susan and what did to you to my doctor," you said your voice a little louder now than before.
The ponds watched in confusion.
"doctor come on i think you have the wrong man sorry sir let's go back to the TARDIS yeah" Rory asked hoping the time lord would leave you alone.
"TARDIS like the blue box TARDIS?" you questioned making the man nod.
"So that means "you stopped when you saw the look on the doctor's face.
"I'm so sorry {y/n} but I don't even know if she is still alive" the doctor's voice dropped his eyes were glossy.
"I understand you did what you had to back them and I get that thank you I know we never got along back then but those were some of the best days of my life."

'You might expect a season finale to be shrouded in secrecy, with plot points and even the full cast list concealed so as to not to spoil viewers' enjoyment of the climax, but in fact it's the middle instalment of Doctor Who's "mini-season" of 60th anniversary specials that's proving to be the most mysterious.
Even before it aired on Saturday (25th November), we were familiar with the broad strokes of opening episode The Star Beast – an adaptation of the 1980 comic strip of the same name, featuring the cute but not so cuddly Beep the Meep, and reuniting the Doctor (David Tennant) with former companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate).
We've also seen a fair amount come out around the trilogy closer, The Giggle – it'll feature the return of the villainous Toymaker, last seen on television way back in 1966 and now played by Emmy-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris.
Though not officially announced, trailer footage and interview teases have also pointed to appearances from UNIT, their leader Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) and their scientist advisor Shirley Anne Bingham (Ruth Madeley).
But we know next to nothing about episode two, Wild Blue Yonder, which airs this Saturday (2nd December) – showrunner Russell T Davies has called it "weird" and "scary", but the brief plot synopsis that's been released is impressively vague: "The TARDIS takes the Doctor and Donna to the furthest edge of adventure. To escape, they must face the most desperate fight of their lives, with the fate of the universe at stake."
Besides Tennant and Tate, only one additional cast member has been confirmed – Susan Twist, who'll play a character named "Mrs Merridew".
The key art for the episode (see above) suggests the inclusion of a robot, though it's unclear whether it'll be friend and foe.
The trailer released shortly after broadcast of The Star Beast, meanwhile, also seems to delight in keeping things ambiguous, revealing only that the Doctor and Donna have landed in a mysterious space-age location, where they encounter "life signs" and are menaced by an unseen threat...
Doctor Who fans, of course, abhor a vacuum, so the lack of information about Wild Blue Yonder has sparked rampant speculation. Why the secrecy? What's being hidden?
Fan theories have included suggestions that the episode is set entirely within a TARDIS – with the Doctor's ship landing inside another time/space machine – or that all this cloak and dagger is concealing a huge surprise return, with names put forth including Carole Ann Ford as the Doctor's granddaughter Susan and Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor.
There's also a school of thought that the episode will feature an early appearance from Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor, and even Millie Gibson's new companion Ruby Sunday.
We know for a fact that the events of Flux, the Doctor Who series arc aired in 2021, will be dealt with "very slightly" in the episode, which has led fans to guess at everything from some involvement from The Division to a story set during "the Dark Times" (an age of chaos and monsters that predated the Doctor's reality).
To be clear, all of this is just guesswork at this point. In fact, Tom Kingsley, director on Wild Blue Yonder, has sought to play down the rumours while acknowledging that the plot is "a TOTAL SECRET".
Describing the episode as "weird and exciting", he added: "Fan PSA: the story of Wild Blue Yonder isn’t a secret because there are any surprise returning actors or villains. It’s just because we thought you might find it fun to watch it without knowing what’s going to happen next. Promise!"
Couldn't that rationale apply to any other episode, though? Adventures that weren't/aren't being kept under wraps to the same degree?
Perhaps the biggest clue we have to latch on to comes via David Tennant. Speaking to Total TV Guide, he said: "The second script is unlike any Doctor Who I’ve ever seen.
"I don’t want to give too much away, but I was always aware of the casting that was going to be part of the episode. That was something that Russell was very specific about. I just didn’t imagine it would… manifest itself in the way that it does..."
Could this piece of casting be the cause of all the covertness? If we take director Kingsley at his word that Tennant and Tate will be the only series veterans appearing, then perhaps it's not a returnee we should be expecting but some other familiar face – a big name actor whose casting is yet to be announced? Or just a particular type of performer?
Clearly, whoever it is, or whoever they are, said casting has a significant impact on the plot...
"I love humans," the Eighth Doctor once commented. "Always seeing patterns in things that aren't there," - it does feel, however, as though something is definitely afoot here.
Just three days to wait until the exact nature of that secret is revealed...'

Watching Doctor Who: The Eleventh Hour - it's my first not-David-Tennant DW episode so we'll see how it goes
The intro is awful, the previous one was way better
Loving the level of unhingedness
These two are a great team, the girl's scared of nothing!
The only-liking-very-specific-food is so real of him
Did the Prisoner do something to little Amelia? I hope it didn't
Thought the police officer was grown Amelia at first
That girl's dumb. And that snake's disgusting.
IT IS AMELIA
"I'm the Doctor. I'm worse than everybody's aunt." is the most iconic introduction.
Floating spiky eyes. Very normal occurrence.
"believe me for 20 minutes"😭
This creature is creepy. I don't like it.
Her watching him undress unashamedly 🤩 I'm loving this girl
Also cute new outfit Doctor, you slayyy
Didn't know TARDIS could repair itself, it's prettyyy
Why can't he just come back on time?! It's not that hard when you've got a time machine!
Oh he's so madman with a box
All the figures and drawings she did over the years 😭
A WEDDING DRESS. AND SHE'S GINGER. She's gonna be important.
Conclusion: I like 11th Doctor

sorry if you’ve been asked this already but out of the doctor who’s you’ve watched how would you rate them best to worst?
hello!! purely subjective based on which doctors I enjoy the most from best to worst:
Eleventh/Twelfth Doctors - honestly these guys are just My Doctors™. I watched them at very formative times in my life and borrowed bits and pieces of them for my personality and gender
Ninth Doctor - Christopher Eccleston is owed for Doctor Who being EVERYTHING it is now. No exaggeration!
14th Doctor - this doctor is like "what if the 10th doctor wasn't a cunt and also had all of 11/12's Big Heart Behaviours™?" delightful! way too much nostalgia bait in his eps tho so...
8th Doctor - Paul Mcgann is so underrated honestly. My man set the TONE for modern doctor incarnations. Does he get any flowers for that? No. Also campy as shit.
3rd, 4th, 5th Doctors - I grew up watching these guys on VHS with my dad. I've honestly never revisited but remember them mostly fondly.
1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th Doctors - honestly just haven't had access to enough of their episodes to have an opinion on them!
10th Doctor - I love David Tennant in ways detrimental to multiple social movements, but I've also never encountered a character so Infuriating. I just hated all this Doctor's relationships and emotional immaturity. sure it's an intentional part of the character I still hate it tho lol. the racism, especially.
13th Doctor - I wrote a whole article on why I hated 13's era and meant every word. Whatever the a over Doctor's faults, at least they weren't doing Nazism and character revisionism with zero personality. White feminism in the most offensive way possible.
hope this makes sense <3

reading your posts about your time watching doctor who reminded me of the first time i discovered doctor who, mainly, the eleventh doctor. i was going through such a tough time, and one day i just decided to watch doctor who to see what all of the fuss was about and started 'the eleventh hour.' it was pure magic to me. everyone has their doctor, and matt smith will always be mine. he was great! i loved how eccentric and warm he could be. i loved how he was just so sweet and kind to all of his companions, and i loved that undercurrent of darkness that was always bubbling under the surface of his character. matt smith was brilliant and i really, really wish they'd bring him back as the doctor in some way. i miss him so.
I so enjoy your blog and I was delighted to get this in my inbox. I loved reading this and picturing how you discovered the show; if anyone else wants to share their own DW experience with me, please take this as a sign! Commiserating over loving and missing the Doctor, feeling like he really is your friend (silly but true), is very cathartic to me. Nine was my first, and so was Rose. I didn't know anything about the show at all when I started in that basement bedroom, went in completely blind. I know what you mean by pure magic! I thought Christopher Eccleston would be the Doctor forever, and I was totally in love with him. I thought he was the reason everyone loved the show (I hadn't even seen Matt Smith's face yet, that's how in the dark I was at the time!). When he changed into David Tennant, I'll never forget how strong my feelings were. The revulsion and despair were huge. I was a lil teenager wrapped up in a zebra-patterned blanket downstairs, outraged that the 40-something with the big ears had transformed into hot young hair man. When Harriet Jones pleaded for the Doctor's help and Rose started crying in the kitchen, I was a mess. No television show that I can recall inspired in me such realistic emotions before Doctor Who, not like that! It took me so long to get used to Ten, and even now I still look at him and remember how hard it was to get used to him. Felt like someone had forced me to move homes or something. And when I finally got caught up to the show on live television, Matt Smith was finishing off his first season, and oh, he was so easy to love. Even as an adult now, his variation feels so safe. I love everything about him, the childish energy, the old man movement, the rhyming way he talks, and when he's angry, he reminds me of Eccleston. I'm like, That's him! That's the Doctor! I rewatch that era for Matt alone. When Clara looks at him regenerating and whispers "Please don't change," I cry every time. She's right. We were all saying it. Also reading your I miss him so totally made me stop and actually get emotional too - that says it all about the Doctor, about that time in my life (yours too, sounds like!) Eccleston to Smith. I miss him so.

What’s your ranking of the doctors
it's very basic due to my very disjointed and lacking exposure to showa dr who which i must fix soon. so:-
9 and 10 are what i grew up with so between the insane nostalgia and the actually insane quality of the writing (not biased not biased) they are my favourites. it's really hard to go wrong with an ageless god who lost his people rediscovering the beauty of the universe through the eyes of ordinary people
11 much like his seasons i'm very mixed on; i like a lot of his series 5 stuff where there was a fairytale theming going on and they started to make him much more genuinely alien and detached from humanity compared to how 9 and 10 could literally just feel like dudes (not a bad thing either way, either option is an interesting portrayal for different reasons) and they started to confront his morality and influence in series 6 and 7, but a fair bit of it falls flat for me. series 7 eleventh doctor in particular i really dislike i found him annoying to watch
12 is slowly becoming my favourite. everything i just said about 11's best traits being when he's written as truly alien and engaging with the ideas of his influence on the universe and the morality involved? 12 is all that in fucking HYPERDRIVE and it has a lot of charm and a much higher feeling of genuine honesty to it when he is portrayed as an actual old man with a lot of anger and sarcasm to how he does things; which of course also harkens back to doctor who's beginnings and provides a very sharp contrast to the other 3 main doctors since the revival. Very strong case for being my favourite
13. sigh. oh 13. where did it all go wrong girl. it's difficult to say anything about her because i don't think they ever truly landed on a solid characterisation or vision for her; and much of it feels like nostalgia-pandering David Tennant tablescraps and the most severe militant inaction ever put to television, with a very lacking performance which i absolutely cannot blame Jodie for because I don't know what the hell I'd do with those scripts either. I REALLY wish I could say something like "even if I didn't like this era I at least have fond memories of 13 herself" but tragically I think she's the worst doctor there's ever been and it's absolutely criminal
Fugitive/Ruth, conversely, I actually really liked what was shown of her and like many at the time I felt she was a far more compelling Doctor than 13 and the one I'd rather be following! It's a bit harder to go back to her now you know it's setting up the timeless child nonsense but for a single episode, wow; I really do wish this is what we got
War I really liked; I think if you are genuinely going to show the time war and do a story about it this was the best path to go and is a great transition between classic and modern doctors. Really solid bash at it
7 I really love what I've seen of. Token classic doctor mention here but I have seen a fair bit of him and I really am in love with his whole mysterious gait and have been for over a decade
I generally like all the others but haven't seen enough to really say anything on (i have seen the TV movie but ages ago). I really like 3's vibes!
14 is a fascinating decision and I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with him
15 IS GOING FUCKING CRAZY RN I NEED HIS RUN TO BE SO REAL YOU HAVE NO IDEA

I’m a casual Doctor Who fan. I’m not too deep into the lore, I never watched Classic Who, I don’t watch interviews or bts footage and I only watched the entire series one single time. Therefore it is quite possible that the answer to my question is common knowledge among the fans and I just missed or forgot it.
Time and again I read about the Doctor being asexual, and sure you can conclude that from the things the series shows or rather not shows. So my question is: was it ever directly stated at any point that he, that time lords in general, are asexual? Because frankly speaking when I first read this notion somewhere online I was a bit surprised, especially because of the many flirty innuendos made by River Song. Besides I ascribed the fact that we never saw anything explicit to the show’s wish to appeal to a wide demographic.
Hello kind Anon
Ah, I can understand your confusion, because some things need to be defined properly, rather than you having to find out purely due to reading some obscure book or other.
Now, I may have watched Doctor Who from the very start, but I never read any of the books (I never felt they were aimed at me, nor appeared in the local library), heard the audios, or touched fanfiction until 15 years ago. But some things were always implied by the programme.
One of these was that Time Lords were asexual because they didn't need or use sex to reproduce. Probably too high and mighty for all that. I've no idea when I first heard about them using looms instead; it's just been there in my mind.
It was R.T. Davies and Steven Moffat who decided to 'sex up' Doctor Who by introducing love interests for the Doctor. Reinette and River Song being Moffat's creations, of course. It was also Moffat who decided that any child conceived in the Tardis is a Time Lord, not a topic that had ever arose before so it was never pondered. He also did horrendous things to that pregnancy which we are all meant to skip over and ignore (he must have been lovely to his wife when his kids were born *snorts my scorn* and yes, as a person who has given birth, I really resent the way he treated Amy's abduction) so have never properly considered what practicalities that meant. Apart from limited, finite lives. And don't get me started on the BS about River only being born to love the Doctor! Is that how Moffat truly sees women? What a prat.
But I digress. The 50th anniversary interviews with the old Doctors was funny because Colin Baker in particular was disgusted by the idea of the Doctor being in love with a human; a lower species. "Why?!" he demanded to know.
When the topic of a love interest for the Doctor was brought up in an interview with David Tennant, he stated that the Doctor is asexual. So it sort of became fact after that.
By being asexual, the Doctor is never a threat to children, the original target audience (despite loads of middle-aged men claiming it's all for them). they can trust his care and follow his instructions without fear. He's always been like a friendly onscreen uncle, and is a powerful role model. I suppose that's why it's always been implied rather than stated that the Doctor is asexual.
Well, it was, until River Song entered The Library and flirted with the Doctor as though we were expecting it. I personally was not. And she later snogged the Eleventh Doctor, as well as boasted she'd snogged a few other people. Fortunately, it never got more explicit than that.
River's flirtiness brings up more questions than answers. As you say, she represents diversity to appeal to a wider demographic; a space formerly occupied by Captain Jack Harkness.
But is this Time Lord behaviour? Hmm. I'm inclined to say: no.

Doctor Who: At The Proms (2010)
Tumblr media
So I don't often watch The Proms, but there are Doctor Who episodes, so naturally I am going to watch. (Warning, I'm typing as I'm watching so this could be rambly) Also this is just the Highlights I'm watching!
So this one starts with a small making of, which is fun. Karen Gillan is presenting, which is perfect, because I am in love with Karen Gillan.
I'm really excited for this Prom, because I love this series, Matt Smith's first series, its utter perfection.
Gosh, that first piece of music introducing the 11th Doctor is just amazing, it feels new, does that make sense, I always felt like going from David Tennant to Matt Smith was a big change and this music describes it perfectly.
I love the piece of music that plays at the end of Matt Smith's first episode it's literal magic. And you know it's for the eleventh doctor. Oooo they have silurians running round the hall, and Judoons! The Judoons look a little silly not gonna lie. And the not vampires from Vampires in Venice, they are creepy, aren't they.
More Cybermen, yay! They look wicked.
Oooo one of the Daleks are here, one of the Ironside ones! And a white Dalek! Love those colourful ones.
Ooo the Doctor's here! On the screen. Wibbly Wobbly ExplodyWoddey <- Genuine Quote.
Oh! The Doctor's actually here, love that. He climbed out from the floor. I really love his Doctor.
Oooo Arthur Darvill is here, I love him, love Rory. Lovely Rory.
I love Amy's theme, it's one of my favourites. Its genuinely one of the most beautiful pieces of musics I heard and it feels like the Doctor and Amy's friendship.
Oh we get to see all the Doctor's on the screen! Not me crying. I get tingles every time I see the second doctor, is that weird, he is just my favourite.
Matt Smith's back! Suited up (insert heart eyes) He seems like a very nice man.
They're playing music from The Big Bang and the Pandorica opens now, its very nice, very relaxing. And seeing the montage of the series on the screen is very cool.
And getting to hear theme, eleventh doctor style is brilliant, alongside with all the monsters coming out again!
