How I imagine Maul acts when someone flirts with his girlfriend:

When someone starts flirting with his girlfriend, Maul initially observes in silence. His piercing gaze becomes darker, as if he's analyzing the rival's every move. A clenched jaw, fists subtly tightening—these are signs he's controlling his anger. He trusts his partner, but that doesn't mean he'll let the situation slide easily.

Maul isn't the type to yell or make a scene. His mere presence is enough to make anyone think twice. He would remain silent, but his posture would shift. He’d move closer, standing just behind his girlfriend without even touching her, which already creates a psychological barrier. His horns, cold stare, and menacing stance would give a clear warning: "Back off."

If the flirting continued, Maul would make a simple, but deliberate move. Perhaps placing a hand on the rival's shoulder with light pressure, but enough to make him feel Maul’s power. "You're in the wrong place," he would say in a low, almost whispering voice, but loaded with threat. His controlled yet dangerous tone would be more frightening than any shout.

If the man insisted, Maul wouldn't hesitate to escalate. He might grab the rival by the collar, pulling him close enough for him to feel Maul's golden eyes glaring into him. "You have no idea who you're dealing with," he'd say, letting his simmering anger show. Even without using the Force, the rival would feel the imminent danger. Maul rarely needed to actually fight; the mere sense of his wrath would be enough to intimidate.

After dealing with the rival, Maul would approach his girlfriend, still in silence. He wouldn’t directly ask if she was okay, but his gaze would show a mix of concern and possessiveness. There would be a brief moment where he tries to control his remaining anger. He might even circle around her protectively, as if still ready to strike should anyone else dare to try something.

If his girlfriend brought up Maul’s jealousy, he would subtly deny it. "I was just protecting you," he'd say, trying to hide any signs of vulnerability. However, if she pressed the issue, he might admit, with a hint of frustration in his voice, that he doesn’t like seeing other men approach her. "They have no right to talk to you like that," he’d say, clearly uncomfortable with the idea of someone trying to win her over.

88 out of the 116 fics on my Ao3 are Star Wars related. I was balls deep in the Star Wars fandom most of last year.

But yes, I think it's safe to say I had a Star Wars phase. Multiple, actually, throughout my life.

Another Spooky Month Husbando of the day goes to Darth Maul from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace and The Clone Wars!

I had the biggest crush on Darth Maul the first time I saw him. I was sad he didn’t have more appearances in the movies, but I did get to enjoy him in some of the cartoon versions and comics.

It’s so sad how his father died after his conception and his mom tried her best to keep him safe. She trusted Darth Sidious to take care of him and get him away from their home world so he wouldn’t be a slave to the Nightsisters. Darth Sidious never really cared about him, neither did Plagueis, they just thought of him as expendable.

I feel so sorry for him. He never had love growing up after he left his mom…I just want to hug him, I want to tell him it’s ok and he matters…the sad part is, I don’t even think it would matter to him…

So the whole "The Phantom Menace" 25th Anniversary

Went to go see "The Phantom Menace" for the whole "May the 4th" day since I've never seen a Star Wars film in cinema before. I vaguely remembered people complaining over it when it first premiered in cinemas due to how politically heavy/kind of dull it was for a Star Wars film (think there's even a Simpsons episode roasting it) and honestly? I can see why but it's still a really good film even without foresight of where the prequels were going to go.

I mean sound-wise? Really cool to hear the sounds of the ships and blasters around you in the cinema and seeing the tanks and droid army be deployed on a big screen does wonders for the sense of scale. Naboo and the underwater city? Absolutely beautiful and illuminative on screen. The costumes? Oh my goodness, the outfits for Queen Amidala alone are gorgeous.

The CGI for Jar-Jar in particular? Actually, Jar-Jar in general? Eh.... can't all be winners.

I can only imagine being a Star Wars fan and seeing little Ani for the first time, maybe not even fully remembering where you heard the name before, and then having it click partway through the movie. Love the misdirect with Padmé's identity as everyone assumes she must be the one in the elaborate costumes, alongside the small hints it's not always her. The main ones I caught were when Anakin tries to say goodbye to her when she isn't there as a handmaiden and when Qui-gon states that the queen trusts him and his judgement and she rebukes that he doesn't know what she wants.

Haven't seen the original trilogy in a while but I don't think the name 'Palpatine' is used for him, think it was only The Emperor or Darth Sidious. Then there's the whole conspiracy with Darth Sidious being responsible for the blockade and the implication from Sidious's dialogue he has some form of control over the senate.

The track during the fight with Darth Maul being called "Duel of the Fates" is amazing considering it essentially changed who would be mentoring Anakin going forward. It's also forever hilarious to me that they brought back Darth Maul because people thought he was too cool and wanted to hang onto him lol. Not to mention the reveal of the lightsaber flickering to display a second half.

Honestly one of my favourite parts about the ending was the shot at the end of Qui-Gon's funeral. When discussing Darth Maul's death and stating there's always two Sith; a master and an apprentice, the scene ends with a lingering shot on Chancellor Palpatine. Behold, the 'Phantom Menace', he was going to succeed whether Naboo was forced into the treaty or if he was elected the new Chancellor. "Every way makes my gain".

Overall I really enjoyed the small little bits and nuances with it, and I can also see why people may have been disappointed seeing it compared to the original trilogy. It was quite dull at points but it does have a lot of detail for what it is.

Headcanon: Darth Maul reading Y/N’s thoughts imagining herself with him and Savage

Maul didn’t usually pry into others’ minds without reason, but this time, curiosity got the better of him. While meditating in the quiet of their shared space, he reached out through the Force to sense Y/N’s thoughts, trying to understand her mood and emotions more clearly. What he didn’t expect was to stumble upon a vivid, private fantasy that left him momentarily speechless.

The images in her mind were intense, filled with the heat of desire as she imagined herself entangled with both him and Savage at the same time. He could almost feel her heartbeat quicken, her pulse racing as she thought of both brothers with her, their hands and bodies moving in unison. It was raw, passionate, and completely unexpected.

As the days passed, Maul’s behavior toward Y/N subtly changed. He became more intense in his interactions with her, his touch lingering longer, his voice dropping to a low, almost dangerous tone when they were alone. There was a possessive edge to his gestures, a dark promise in every brush of his fingers against her skin. He never mentioned Savage’s part in her thoughts, never confronted her directly. Instead, he took every opportunity to remind her who truly dominated her mind, who owned her desire.

But then, one evening, when the quiet between them was thick and their eyes were locked in a charged silence, Maul couldn’t resist any longer. He leaned in close, his breath warm against her ear, and in a voice that was equally teasing and threatening, he whispered, “Tell me, Y/N… when you dream of us, do you really think Savage could satisfy you the way I do?”

Her shocked expression made his smirk grow ever so slightly, a rare flicker of amusement crossing his otherwise stoic face. He didn’t need to hear her answer; he could already sense the turmoil in her thoughts through the Force, the way her heartbeat faltered in response to his words. It was then that Maul realized something: he didn’t just want her to desire him—he wanted her to crave him more than anyone.

From that moment on, whenever they were together, he made sure to be the center of her attention, doing everything he could to draw out her need for him alone. And every time her gaze flickered away, as if thinking of that forbidden fantasy once more, Maul’s grip on her waist would tighten, his eyes narrowing, reminding her who would always hold the upper hand in her thoughts and desires.
