It occurred to me that Bradford Buzzard, Zan Owlson and Donald Duck all have one thing in common. They all hated adventuring and believed it was too dangerous. The difference between the 3 of them is how they chose to express that and handle it. Bradford chose to follow the path of the dark side and destroy anyone who loves adventuring by, as shown in the episode ‘The First Adventure!’, starting an evil organization known as FOWL in order to do just that even though he refused to admit it. Zan Owlson chose to follow the path of the light side and wanted to improve as many peoples’ lives as possible through normal means by, as shown in the episode ‘The Ballad Of Duke Baloney!’, helping people through charities and putting people above profit but she is, as shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, also willing to accept from adventurous people like Darkwing Duck when there doesn’t seem to be any other options left. And Donald Duck wanted to follow his own path and settle down from it all by, as shown in the episode ‘Woo-oo!’, trying to live a normal life to support his nephews but, as shown in the episode ‘What Ever Happened To Donald Duck?!’, is willing to go on an adventure himself if that’s what it takes to help his family.

Why I Think It Would Be Fitting If Zan Owlson And Shere Khan Became Arch Enemies

Ok. Here I’ll be going over why I think it would be fitting if Zan Owlson from the DuckTales (2017) TV series and Shere Khan from the TaleSpin (1990) TV series met and became arch enemies by going over their similarities and differences. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.

Both of them can be quite honorable. As shown in the episode ‘The Ballad Of Duke Baloney!’, Zan Owlson helped fund the Duckburg Children’s Hospital and wants to put people above profit. And, as shown in the episode ‘Save The Tiger’, Shere Khan was willing to do Baloo some favors to repay him for saving his life. The difference between them here, though, is that Zan Owlson actually wants to help people since, as already pointed out, she wants to put people above profit whereas Shere Khan mainly wants money and power as stated in the episode ‘Citizen Khan’, the reason why he didn’t want Cleghorn and Wendell to use and mistreat his miners is because that wouldn’t provide him with money nor power. And all this would surely put Shere Khan and Zan Owlson at odds.

Both of them had to deal with idiots who got in their way. As shown in the episode ‘Raiders Of The Doomsday Vault!’, Zan Owlson had to put up with Flintheart Glomgold who let his cockamamie schemes undermined her efforts to get a contract with the Von Drake Doomsday Vault. And, as shown in the episode ‘Louie’s Last Stand’, Shere Khan had to put up with Douglas who got his pilots injured and forged his name to try to take over Louie’s island. The difference between them there, though, is that, as also shown in the episode ‘Raiders Of The Doomsday Vault!’, poor Zan Owlson didn’t seem to have the necessary authority to fire Glomgold whereas, as also shown in the episode ‘Louie’s Last Stand’, Shere Khan was able to fire Douglas.

Both of them encountered someone who wanted to be a superhero. As shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 1: The St. Canardian Guardian!’, Zan Owlson encountered Drake Mallard who wanted to be a superhero called Darkwing Duck. And, as shown in the episode ‘Bullethead Baloo’, Shere Khan encountered Baloo who wanted to be a superhero called Bullethead. The difference between them there is how long Drake’s and Baloo’s times superheroes lasted. As shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Drake chose to stay a superhero indefinitely whereas, as also shown in the episode ‘Bullethead Baloo!’, Baloo’s time as Bullethead was just a one-time thing.

Both of their cities were attacked by a group of villains and they needed someone’s help to stop it. As shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Zan Owlson needed Darkwing Duck to help save St. Canard from the Fearsome Four and, as shown in the episode ‘Plunder & Lightning Part 4’, Shere Khan needed Baloo to help save Cape Suzette from Don Karnage and his crew. The difference between them there is whether or not they asked for their help. As also shown in the episode ‘Let’s Get Dangerous! Part 2: A Case Of Mistaken Reality!’, Zan Owlson did ask Darkwing Duck for help to save St. Canard whereas, as also shown in the episode ‘Plunder & Lightning Part 4’, Shere Khan didn’t ask for Baloo’s help albeit was still grateful for it.

Ducktales: Duke for a Day

During what was supposed to be a routine adventure, the treasure of the day-the fabled Tibetan Amulet of Aggression-ends up stuck around Huey’s neck. As the name implies, the Amulet is cursed, locking whoever wears it in a permanent state of pure rage. This would be a problem for anyone, but in Huey’s case especially it’s an absolute disaster, since he’s stuck as the Duke of Making a Mess until someone can figure out how to get the stupid necklace off, which means everyone not working on that solution is either trying to keep the Duke from doing something Huey will regret or trying to stay out of the blast zone.

Meanwhile, Steelbeak has just managed to get FOWL back into some form of order, now under his command since every other lead agent is either dead, in prison, a traitor, or a dumb bird. And unlike Bradford, he’s decided to make the organization’s presence in St. Canard and Duckburg known, and what better way than by challenging the two people who’ve managed to beat him on three separate occasions, only now without any brain boosts, metal armor, or time-stopping buddies to help them?

...A lot. there’s a lot of better ways to establish yourself as a villain than picking a fight you’ve lost before, but Steelbeak is doing this anyway..

And surprisingly, it actually does start working, at least once he makes a substantial enough threat to Duckburg to both lure in Launchpad and Huey and keep the other heroes at bay, and the fight starts out in his favor, since he’s about even with LP, just more vicious and with a dangerous weapon on hand, and the Duke really isn’t equipped to be a team player, so he and LP are sort of getting in each other’s way. At least, until Launchpad gets seriously hurt. That’s when things get interesting.

Apparently the Duke isn’t the limit of Huey’s anger. There’s a deeper, darker, hotter, more protective anger deep below the surface. One that brings the darkness and flames it hides in up with it when it bubbles to the surface, turning Huey’s feathers pitch black and his eyes a solid glowing red, and the Amulet shattering from sheer force of will. This is the true essence of the Black Rage of Clan McDuck, and he absolutely hands Steelbeak his ass, doing significant damage to his deadly namesake in the process.

After the adrenaline wears off, Huey goes back to normal and passes out, and when he eventually wakes up again he discovers he can access his new Blackrage form more-or-less at will, though he’ll need help from Donald and the rest of the family to properly harness it. Also Launchpad’s gonna be fine, don’t worry.

I’m not much of a DC fan, I’ll admit, but I did some research into the characters and from what I could gather:

My first thought before researching was to just give Batman and -woman (or Batgirl? Either her or Catwoman) the Night Fury. One each. This isn’t entirely canon to HTTYD so you can have two Night Furies if you really wanted and just make the second one like the “female Night Fury” edits you would have seen back in the mid-2010s. (Maybe I’m thinking about LEGO Batman gloating he has one? Who knows.)

That being said, if you didn’t want two Night Furies, the immediate thought I got for Batwoman was a Devilish Dervish (a dragon mostly just in the games), but then maybe a Deathgripper instead because of the red and black suit?

I know this sounds indecisive, but maybe the Deathgripper should actually go to Catwoman? I only think because of the massive venomous tusks she could use to poison her enemies with.

Actually a Cavern Crasher should actually work for Catwoman too… maybe…

That also being said, a Titan Wing Monstrous Nightmare like the one we see in RTTE could also work for Barb- I mean Kate.

So could a Night Terror if it didn’t have to be a rideable dragon.

Alfred would probably have a Snaptrapper that he keeps in the greenhouse. I don’t know why that’s such a vivid image for me… I don’t even know if they have one of those.

Or maybe some Terrible Terrors he likes to let flock like birds? I imagine they have at least one of those to send Terror Mails back and forth around the house and on missions.

Oracle Barbara would probably have a Night Terror (the colours match). Or, if it has to be rideable, then a Changewing or Hobblegrunt.

Darkwing… hmm, I contemplated a Flightmare, but I’d say either that, a Changewing (if it sticks through the Robin-thing, too) or a Hobblegrunt. Probably a Changewing.

Red Hood gets a grandly wingspanned dragon… either one that he got as a baby as Robin that then grew massive like a Typhoomerang or more preferably a Timberjack, or something like a Stormcutter. I imagine him making grand entrances like Valka.

As for Cassandra… a Timberjack maybe? Or, as much as I don’t like the dragon very much, a Triple Stryke.

Stephanie… oh, yes, that’s a purple-eyed Razorwhip job. Or a Skrill? If Joker doesn’t get the Skrill then she could. I’d recommend the Light Fury, too, but she seems too dark for that — the vibe doesn’t match as well. Go for the Razorwhip. Or the Skrill. Probably the Razorwhip.

Tim… I don’t know for him. Maybe he’d inherit that Night Fury or Titan Wing Monstrous Nightmare if they outlive their own riders? Or he could just have his own Nightmare. Or, if he just wants a Lil Guy, then a Fire Terror.

Duke is definitely a Cavern Crasher job. Or maybe a Devilish Dervish if he wanted to fly, but Cavern Crasher is my main bet.

Maybe Blue Bird has a couple dozen Seashockers… maybe a blue Thunderdrum… yeah, I can see that.

We’re talking about Cullen Row, right? A few Cullens came up. I don’t think he’d have one of his own except maybe a blue Terrible Terror or a soft spot for his sister’s Thunderdrum or one of her Seashockers. Maybe he gets cursed by a Hobgobbler at some point, though.

The same unfortunately goes for Damian as it did Tim. He’d either inherit a dragon or get a species that matches another.

Oh, wow. Yeah. A green Terrible Terror for Carrie. I can imagine it perching on her shoulder a lot.

Jarro… how does he get a dragon without being eaten?

Beauty and The Beast AU

Once upon a time, there was a very, very rich lord, perhaps the richest lord who ever lived, and because of that, he had made many enemies.

Despite loving his immense trove of gold, the lord's greatest treasure was his family, and his enemies knew it.

One of those enemies was a witch and one day she cast a wicked spell on the lord's family, cursing not only him, but the firstborn son of each generation after him, and the only way to undo the spell was for one of the cursed to find true love outside of the family bond.

But who could ever love the monsters that the curse made them, inside and out?

Baby Tirabassi's Christening

This morning at a private service held at the Holy Church of Saint Cecilia, Princess Lucrezia and Duke Leo Rose held a Christening service for their newborn son.

Many were wondering how a Christening would be pulled off for the notably religious Royal Family of Newcrest, since they are all currently unable to hold the service in the traditional Crescent Cathedral in Newcrest. But it seems it's all worked out! Sources say it was Crown Princess Ophelia who tracked down an ordained priest of the Newcrest Church (the Archbishop still under house arrest in Newcrest, ordered by Emperor Victor) and convinced the elders of the Church of St. Cecilia to hold a Newcrest service in their Simsdom Church. There was reportedly a little push-back from the Archbishop of Simsdom, but one word from his patron, and the little boy's Great Grandmother, Dowager Tsarina Nadia, and everything seemed to fall into place.

The Baby's godparents were no surprise to most people, though there was some confusion about church affiliations. According to Newcrest Church law, at least one set of godparents has to be baptised into the Newcrest Church, the other sets can be from any religion. Baby's first godmother is Crown Princess Ophelia herself, who's housed the Princess and the Duke throughout the exile, and was there the night baby was born. Second godmother went to Princess Lucrezia's closest sister- Princess Emilia. Some were wondering why her other sisters- Princesses Adriana and Francesca- weren't asked to be godparents.

The godfathers asked were Prince Benedict, who also has lived with the exiled Princess and Duke at Darkwing House, and Petty Officer Gabriel Micheletti, Princess Emilia's Fiance. Many more questioned these two appointments for godparents. Why wasn't Princess Lucrezia's brother-in-law, Major General Samson Glenn asked? Petty Officer Micheletti isn't officially a member of the royal family yet, a risky move on the Princess' part. Or even her own younger brother, Crown Prince Dante? Perhaps a remark on Lucrezia's lack of faith in her partying little brother?

Despite all the questions about the godparents, the ceremony went off without a hitch, and we're very excited to welcome to the world:
