DMC4! Dante x Fem!Reader Childbirth comfort headcannons

-Dante's there for you the minute you announce the baby's coming. Instead of panicking, he gets excited, so much so that he starts shaking.

-The car ride to the hospital was just about as safe and steady as his usual driving, which is to say, not very.

-He wants to help you through your pain, but doesn't know how, so he rubs your thigh comfortingly, swerving through traffic as he encourages you that everything will be alright.

-When you do get to the hospital, he refuses to leave your side for any reason, going so far as to force his way into the operating room.

-Holds your hand and massages your arm (the one he has access to) in an attempt to distract you.

-Also tries to help the doctors, even though he has no idea what's going on.

-Eventually, he resigns himself to just sitting by your side and talking to you to take your mind off the pain.

-He'll offer his hand up for you to squeeze if you need it, and genuinely is shocked by your strength if you do. Turns out pain brings out one's true power...

-Dante stays by your side from the moment the doctors get to work to the moment the baby is born and beyond. What a boss.

For a very long time I could not understand what the problem was in identifying Nero’s father: almost everyone knows that he has the blood of Sparda, Sparda has two sons, if Dante did not copulate, then Vergil did - the issue is resolved. And then I read the novella on DMC4 and found out that it turns out that there was an option where Sparda himself, with whom no one knows what happened, could sculpt another child.

And still, this did not stop Dante from immediately understanding that Nero was Virgil’s child. Although he didn’t immediately believe it myself.
