#Danny watches The Man From Uncle

I JUST SAW THESE POSTS OF DANNY BEING RAS AL GHUL CHILD LIKE THE FIRST THAT IS LIKE 25-30 YEARS OLDER THAN TALIA AND MAKE MY BRAIN WORKS FUCKING WIGGLE!?!?!??
anyway
Danny established the status quo and the disappeared for 20-60 years and the is summoned by Ra where he’s like “Dad you could’ve have called my personal phone you know that right?” And Ra’s like “YOU WENT OFF THE GRID FOR YEARS AND NEVER TOOD ME-!!??!? Now do you look different? Are you eating? What’s with comingoutthesummoningcirclefortheghostking? HMMM???”
“Ah- I knew I forgot something! Let me tell you all about it! I see you brought the whole fam and in laws let’s have dinner and discuss it- AWWWW THATS BABIES!!!” *Damian, Jason, Tim, and Dick being referred to as “babies”*
“Excuse me.” Danny then fucking tackles them in hugs and loves while dodging and/or holding their punches and kicks
"My maternal uncle is coming for a visit and likely evaluate my living arrangements.. We must be at our absolute best when he is here. " Damian announces one evening right as the family is finishing preparing for a night of crime fighting.
Everyone freezes from their respective stations, twisting around to stare at the young Robin in confusion. He doesn't notice; he is too busy making sure his katana is sharpened to perfection and balancing it on his fingertips.
"Baby Bat?" Dick calls, "What do you mean by that?"
Damian pauses in his prep work, approaching the eldest with a pretty impressive scowl. " Mother sent a messenger a few days ago about Uncle's plan audit. Should we fail it, I shall be removed into a different household."
"An audit? Removed?" Steph repeats, confused, but Damian has no idea why. He thought it was pretty apparent that Uncle Daniel would be scoring them, which would determine if Damian would be allowed to continue living within them. He has done so to all of Ra Al Ghul's offspring, and nothing his Grandfather has done has been able to stop him.
How could they think they would have more power than his grandfather?
"When shall Dusan be here?" Father asks, quickly switching on the home security. "What kind of attack should we expect?"
Damian scoffs, "Not the White Ghost. Uncle Dusan is on the other side of the world on a mission for Grandfather. No, Uncle Daniel will be the one conducting the suit. He is the eldest, after all."
Father's eyes narrow behind the white lenses of his masks. "I was unaware your mother had more siblings."
Damian considers the words, wondering how he could politely- at least he shames Alfred- remind his father that his grandfather has been around for hundreds of years. Staying at his peak through the usage of the Lazarus Pit, he has never been short of lovers.
And sometimes those lovers have given him children, many who aged and died naturally, as none has deemed worthy of the Lazarus. All except for one, the First Son, who has never needed the Pits but remained youthful and powerful on his own.
The perfect heir.
It's too bad he had abdicated long before Damian was even a thought.
"Grandfather has had many children, but Uncle Daniel is different. Special. He is the First Son."
"Capital letters," Todd cuts in, shaking his head. "It's never good when the League of Assiasans assigns capital letters. How strong is he?"
"He could easily best Grandfather and all under Grandfather's command," Damian replies, watching as the rest of the vigilantes grew uneasy by the information. It's good that they are wear of Uncle Daniel's power but they have nothing to fear of his wrath. "Uncle Daniel is a pacifist. He carries a protective core."
"A Al Ghul that a pacifist? I'll believe it when I see it." Drake droned as he was clipping on his utility belt. At once, Damian felt his body grew hot with rage. No matter what, it seemed Drake would always curse his family.
The way he says the family name drips with disrespect as if the other teen was saying a swear.
"My Uncle Daniel is a great man!" He shouts, gripping his sword so har his knuckles ache. Drake's face twists as if though he smelled something foul and the rage burning in Damian's chest spreads to his whole body.
He is just about to reach for his throwing knives when a familiar cold hand settles into his hair. "Aw thank you Little One. I love you too."
"Uncle Daniel!" Damian shouts excitably, forgetting the fool he was about to run his blades through. His uncle stands before him, the same darl night hair, warm blue eyes, and a crooked smile that had secretly comforted him in his youth.
"Where in the world did he come from!?" Damian hears one of Father's adopted brutes gasp but does not care to see who as his uncle quickly reels him in for a hug.
Hugging Uncle Daniel was like being wrapped in warm blankets in winter. He always ran rather cold, but it was lovely to be wrapped in his arms and surrounded by his protection.
It felt like nothing in the world could harm him from here.
"You seem well, Little One. Are you happy?" His uncle says. The delict of their native tongue is another comfort Damian can sink into.
"I am." He allows, snuggling his face against his stomach, as childish as it is. If only he could grow taller like his father.
"Wonderful. I'm so glad." His uncle then switches to English, ignoring all the weapons drawn and pointing at him from the Bats. Damian steps back to admire the man he wishes to grow into. "I'm terribly sorry for arriving so late, nephew. You must be tired. When is your bed time?"
"I do not have a bedtime." Damian scoffs. Uncle Daniel frowns, reaching into his chest to pull out a clipboard and a pen- he'll never get used to his uncle storing things within himself no matter how often he sees it. Damian is pretty sure he heard someone gag.
A soft click is heard as his uncle opens the pen and quickly scribbles something down. He is not tall enough to see what is written, but he can see clearly as day that his uncle selected the red ink of the muli-color pen he is using.
He only uses red when he is doing bad things. Damian breaks into a sweat. "What was that? Uncle what did you just write?"
"No bedtime. Tsk tsk." Uncle Daniel mutters, looking around the cave with disapproval. "No proper heating living space."
"Oh no! I do not live down here. This is merely the training grounds. We live upstairs" Damian quickly says, waving his hands frantically in the air as his uncle's unimpressed look. Curses, the auduit just began and already he got bad markings.
"Would you care for a tour? I shall not be going on patrol-"
"He forces you to fight crime? At your age?" Uncle barks, throwing a look of utter disgust at Father. It's the same one he gives Grandfather whenever the older man tries to raise child soldiers.
Even Damian had not been sent on any missions. His childhood had been intense training but nothing that was life-threatening.
"I volunteered to go!" He tries to defend Father, but his uncle only clicks his pen and scrambles more red ink on his paper.
Drat and Damian were actually enjoying living at the manor. He will likely have to say goodbye to it all and be moved to some house Uncle deemed more child-friendly.
"What is your diet here? Have you been taken to the doctor? Any form of therapy?" His uncle fires each question quickly, walking through Todd and Cain when they try to apprehend him without a glance.
His uncle is, and not to sound like the fools of his school, so cool.
#dcxdpdabbles#dc x dp crossover#The Audit#Damian's cool uncle Danny#In which Danny was reborn as Daniel Al Ghul four hundred and ten years ago as Ra's first born son#Then went all Ghost King on him#and now travels the world making sure kid's safety laws are followed#Sorry I know it's not what you were picturing but it's all I could think of.

"Danny was born a Wayne" AU except he's Bruce's grand uncle. The result of a one time drunken affair, shortly before Kenneth Wayne's death, to a young unmarried woman who gave the baby up for adoption.
(Whether the Fenton's, and therefore Amity, were just ahead of their times or the DC timeline is shifted a bit so that DP happens in its cannon era is up to you. Dealers choice, though now that i know about her i just love badass widowed prohibition leader Laura Elizabeth Wayne)
Danny grows up knowing hes adopted and loved by the Fentons but something (dealer's choice) happens and he loses his family and friends (maybe the whole town goes too?). In an attempt to avoid a Dan situation he flees into the Infinite Realm and doesn't stop.
He just wanders, time passes in its weird Realms way, not that Danny truly notices. A protector spirit thats lossed everything it protected. Its a wonder he doesn't fade and he actually might've if it wasn't for his human side.
But its a tug at his core that brings him from his near catatonic wandering. Gone before he can even understand it but enough to shake him back to himself. Enough to know that hes nowhere near ready to go anywhere familiar so he continues on, his wandering no less pointless but at least he's aware again.
What feels like a relatively short time later he gets another tug, and this time he manages to follow it.
He follows it invisibly through a natural portal that drops him somewhere in New Jersey and all the way to a fancy hospital room in the gloomiest city he's ever seen.
In there he sees his half brother Patrick Wayne, though he wont figure out their connection for a few more years, holding little Agatha. She's adorable in her little dress and pigtails and her sweet face causes that familiar tug he recognizes from what must have been six years ago given the girls age.
Then a nurse comes in and hands a little bundle to what must be the mother (whos name i cant find) and Danny takes one look at the little core tugger who brought him here and just melts. Even without knowing yet that this is his last remaining family, his instincts latch on and he vows to protect and care for the Waynes.
And he does.
He finds his forgetful brother's documents and keeps Aggy company when everyone else is busy and soothes baby Thomas so his poor sister-in-law can get some more sleep. He ices fevers and bruised knees and helps on later games of hide and seek.
He very rarely becomes visible and only to the children. His grief over the Fenton's convinces him its better to protect his new family from the shadows.
Danny explores every inch of the manor, including secret passages and an underground cave system. He claims a forgotten room in the back of the attic as his own, which over the years fill up with knickknacks, heirlooms, and pictures of the family. Even a gift or two from Agatha, who hadn't stopped believing in their shadowy guardian like her brother did when Danny felt they were too old to see him without drawing suspicion.
The manor becomes his haunt and he always knows where each family member is within it. And when any guests have some no good intentions.
And when baby Bruce is born tugging at his core and with the bluest little eyes, he welcomes the fussy little thing. And makes sure dear Martha never knows just how fussy baby Bruce really is, otherwise she might've never had a full nights sleep.
Danny blames himself for not being there when Thomas and Martha die, and promises to never leave Bruces side, practically becoming the boy's living shadow. Watching over him as he gets older, secretly aiding him in his training. Danny feels a bit of pride when Bruce takes some inspiration from the old stories Thomas told him of the shadowy Wayne family protector when creating his Batman identity, glad his nephew still remembers him even if he hasn't shown himself since the now young man was six.
Danny continues to protect and care for the family in a variety of ways over the years even as the family grows.
Lightening Alfred's workload, softening Dick's falls, calming Jason's temper both pre and post pit, hiding Tim's coffee when the boy hasn't slept in far too long, providing plenty of shadows and hiding nooks for Cass, helping Damian hide the litter of kittens he found.
And no one seems to know he's there, except maybe Cass and he's pretty sure Alfred has been know since he first started working for the family. No one knows, that is, until Duke Thomas moves in and lookes right at him watching invisibly from the sidelines.
(@omnicrafts @dcxdpdabbles @hdgnj @ailithnight @nelkcats @im-totally-not-an-alien-2 i dont know, the main point of all this is that Danny's been protecting the Wayne family for decades and no one, except maybe Alfred, knew until Duke moved in)
#dpxdc#danny is a Wayne#danny is the wayne family protector spirit#duke can see ghosts#an alternative of this could be the same background but Danny decides to come in as the preCrisis “Uncle Philip” that initially raised Bruc#if so Agatha would definitely vouch for Danny#there's not much on Agatha Wayne but she seems fun

Danny is the rightful Ghost King, but since he's not of age he needs a regent who is a) his species, b) his family, and c) an adult. The only adult haftas are Vlad or this Red Hood guy from Gotham that he's never heard of. Since Vlad is not going to happen looks like it's Red Hood, now how to make the guy count as family...
Jason has had a lot of weird shit happen to him over the years but a woman tracking him down as Red Hood to propose a temporary political marriage so he can be regent of a death dimension until her brother is old enough to rule in his own name is a new one for him. Of course he accepted. The only other option was apparently a creepy uncle figure. He's read enough romance to know a forced marriage of a woman to her creepy uncle never ends well. A forced marriage of a woman to a crime lord doesn't usually end much better, but he's ignoring that for now. He's going to woo and romance his spit fire of a wife with respect, spontaneous poetry, his damn good cooking, and by not being a Darcy. And he is going to rock not just this whole regent thing, but also and more importantly the mentoring her brother and his new ward on how to rule this dimension. Competence is always attractive. He runs a tight ship in his crime empire, surely running a dimension can't be that much harder.
He actually already has a plan on how he's going to handle the whole 'The USA declared war on the dimension he's regent of' thing. It's simple really he goes to the next family dinner and causes chaos. The faces everyone will make will be glorious when he drops that he's lord regent of a dimension, the USA is at war with his dimension, and it's such a shame that no one can meet Jason's wife or ward till there is a peace treaty. Then he just needs to sit back and watch the entertainment as his siblings realize he has forever won the position of favorite child by being the first married and first to give Bruce a grandkid. Also you know the chaos of Bruce willing to wage a one man war if necessary so he can meet his grandson. Jason figures it will take at most a month for the government to cave.
And like a cherry on top he's going to get on a medical treatment plan for the pit. Everything is looking great for him.
#submission by sarahlikesbugs-blog#this has been sitting in my inbox forever im so sorry#i was waiting to have something smart to add but guess what burnout is a bitch#anyway king regent Jason and his lovely go getter wife#he really said 'im going to make the most of this and take advantage as i can'#also making Bruce fix things for him? cherry on top#petty jason is so fun#jazz/jason#anger management ship#hardcover ship#jazz x jason#dpxdc

Dp x Dc AU: Danny and Tim are twins- And Vlad is the first to figure this out in his attempts to get DavlCo a new investor.
---
Tim was getting the creeps from this guy. It was as if the room got colder, the seconds got longer and the room's shadows moved to their own volition. He stared Tim down less like 'You punk kid' and more like 'You'll be mine' in a way that Tim didn't appreciate. At all.
The guy kept setting meetings up despite Tim's direct insistance that Wayne Enterprises would never touch DalvCo- not with a ten foot pole or for all the money in the world. Some how Tim's board of directors kept getting swindled by the guy and... therefore more meetings. More looks from this guy that made him want to crawl out of his skin.
Vlad asked him if he ever went by Timothy- Tim couldn't reply "that's not my name" fast enough. It apparently inspired the guy somehow. More meetings that Tim can't reject because of board members pop up.
It's been long determined that Jason doesn't get involved with Wayne Enterprises, but after the Uncle and a few other paid-actor solutions go up in flames- Tim decides to call up his older brother to act as a bodyguard and tell this guy to fuck off for the final time.
Jason apparently also gets the Heebee-jeebies from this asshole but his message is loud and clear to Vlad. There's a flash of green and then all of sudden it's just Tim and Jason in the room... Only Jason isn't acting like himself.
Putting it together- Tim reaches for his contingency F stash of Knock out gas and doses Jason. Vlad doesn't re-appear so Tim assumes that to mean that he'll be trapped in Jason's person until Jason wakes up.
Walking out of the meeting room with his bus of a brother over his shoulders- Tim quickly asks Tam to reach out to Vlad's Emergency contact. Surely there is someone in this man's company willing to explain what the fuck Vlad was trying to pull. Tim theoretically can keep Jason drugged asleep for a long time- surely that threat can get him somewhere.
The day drags on as Tim continues to keep Jason unconscious and eventually Tam lets him know that someone is here for Vlad. She says it with the addition of one of their codes- He mentally prepares himself for the worst and then... His doppleganger walks through the door? What the fuck?
Tim and Danny puzzle about one another for a little too long and Jason wakes up- Vlad pops out immediately. A shouting match between Danny and Vlad commences and...
"Man I knew our family had unresolved issues but seriously what the fuck has your clone dealing with?" Jason asks, as though he could watch this all day with pop corn.
"You made more clones?!" Danny screamed at Vlad who's only response is "Not this one! This one is actually polite!"
"Fuck you!" Tim and Danny reply in tandem.

DP x DC: Ghost x Family
So, back on my cute romcom BS
So the premise. Dani, as Danny's speed grown clone, wasn't the most physically stable. Turns out, it's really hard to speed grow a clone, and even harder when ectoplasm is involved. There's not enough time for the structures to properly stabilize and that leaves the cellular structure pretty weak and prone to breaking down into goo. The ecto dejecto was just a temporary solution and other measures were needed
aka Dani had to essentially grow a body from scratch the old fashion way, so she's now physically her actual age minus a couple months
So Danny, at the age of 20, is the father of a 4 year old Dani and is trying to keep a low profile in Gotham. His and his daughter's existence is still illegal, and being the single father of a 4 year old ghost girl isn't exactly easy. Now Danny has to deal with the very real threat of CPS being called on him by a neighbor, and trying to get Dani into school without either of them having papers for their assumed identity of Danny and Dani Nightingale and money to by fake documents. He'd ask Tucker, but that requires braking radio silence and potentially putting a target on all three of their backs.
Danny, desperate, asks his neighbor Jason to pose as his significant other for a meeting. Jason agrees, but things escalated and frankly he's now emotionally invested and committing to the bit
So now he and Danny have legally been married for about 4 months according to the papers Babs made them. The fake ID, birth certificates, SSNs, and high school diploma for the Nightingales were simple enough for her to do, but man Jason is going to owe her a BIG favor for this.
They move in together, Dani goes to a good private school, Jason is effectively Danny's sugar daddy paying for a sizable chunk of all this, and they are committing to the loving married couple bit, which is hard to do when the new in-laws are detectives
The best part?
Danny has not figured out Jason is the Red Hood, and Jason doesn't know about the ghost stuff. The only one that does? Dani, and she is physically and mentally 4 and watching Jason and Danny fall in love
oh the shenanigans
OR
I've been watching SPY x FAMILY and just need the fake relationship/family turns into a real relationship/found family dynamic. Jason is basically Loid, Danny is pretty much Yor, Dani fills the role of Anya, and uncle Dick is Yuri, except he's doting on Dani.
Dick is a smart man, but I love the headcanon that Jason is his emotional blindspot. Jason? MY Littlewing? He couldn't possibly.
#danny phantom#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dp x dc prompt#writing prompt#writing#dpxdc#found family and fake relationship rolled into one#dani has two loving dads#plus she can be friends with Lian#Roy and Jason organizing little play dates#part because the girls are best friends but also because it is a convenient cover for Red hood and arsenal teamups

Hooked On A Feeling
Chapter Six - Danny Goes Racing
Daniel is a Formula One driver, but, more importantly, he was a single dad to a wonderful little girl. He wants her to be a normal little girl, to have a normal social life, so he sends her to daycare. That was where she met Milo, her future best friend.
Milo's mother was incredibly stressed. She worked so hard to provide a good life for her son. But then he makes a new friend, a friend who has a hot dad (ofc they fall in love)
1.2K
Single Dad!Daniel x Single Mum!Reader
Series Masterlist
Y/N picked Olivia up from her mother’s house on Sunday. She left Milo in the car as she ran up to the front door of the incredibly nice house and knocked. Patiently she waited for Olivia’s mother to open the door.
It took a good few minutes before the door opened. Olivia stood at the door, a bag on her back and a child size AlphaTauri hat on her head. “Hi, miss L/N!” She called, beaming wide. She looked back into the house and shouted a loud ‘goodbye’ before shutting the door. It was something Y/N would have done as a teenager, not a five year old.
“Olivia, are you sure your momma is okay with you just leaving like that?” She asked and Olivia nodded her head, quickly taking her hand.
Y/N walked Olivia back to the car. She climbed, sitting on the cushion’s Y/N had put down (because she didn’t have a spare car seat) and secured the buckle of the seat belt. Immediately Milo began talking to her as Y/N walked to the front seat and climbed in. She shot Daniel a quick text before driving the children back to her house.
The kids were excited, that was clear. They unbuckled themselves and jumped out of the car as soon as Y/N opened the door. Milo led Olivia up the path and the two of them waited by the front door. Y/N locked the car and followed the kids, unlocking the front door and letting them in.
Olivia and Milo ran into the living room and jumped onto the sofa. “Put on the race, momma!” Milo shouted as they settled back against the sofa cushions.
Y/N did just that. She turned on the TV and put on the race, allowing the kids to watch the last of the F2 race before the interviews for the F1 race began. She left them there while she got them both something to drink and put some snacks in a bowl for the both of them.
Before she left the kitchen, she pulled her phone out of her pocket and texted Daniel once again. He hadn’t responded to her previous message, but he was busy, he was about to complete a Formula One race. Still, she sent him a good luck text and brought a drink in for the kids.
When Y/N returned with the snacks, the interviews before the race had already started. “That’s my uncle Christian,” said Olivia as an older man in a Red Bull shirt spoke to the camera. “My daddy used to work for him but then he moved to Renault and then McLaren and now he’s in AlphaTauri,” she said and Y/N found herself nodding along.
All she knew about Daniels career was that he was a Formula One driver. She didn’t know anything about teams and how it worked, so she hadn’t thought to ask. But Olivia wasn’t explaining it well. She wasn’t explaining in in great detail, but Y/N was still learning something.
Suddenly she shrieked. “Uncle Lando!” She shouted, pointing at the screen.
Olivia considered almost every driver that her dad had been teammates with to be her uncle. Her favourite uncle was her uncle Max, but she’d never tell the others that. She had her Uncle Max, Uncle Checo, Uncle Lando, Uncle Hulk (Nico Hukenberg), and Uncle Yuki as her dad’s current and ex teammates. But she also had her Uncle Christian, Uncle Zac and Andrea, uncle Pierre, Uncle Charles, Uncle Lewis, Uncle Nando and more. The entire grid was a family to her.
She told Milo and his momma all about her Uncle Lando as they interviewed him. They couldn’t hear what the man on the television was saying, but they happily listened to Olivia as she spoke. “He came to visit us once and took me to play crazy golf because my uncle Lando loves golf.”
And then Lance Stroll appeared on the screen. Olivia launched into a full on explanation into her Uncle Scotty and how he married her Uncle Lance’s sister, and then about how her Uncle Lance bought her a playhouse for their garden when she turned five.
For any driver that appeared on the screen Olivia told Y/N and Milo everything about them.
And then her father appeared on the screen. Milo and Olivia were both shouting, until Daniel started talking. He answered all of the interviewers’ questions, always wearing a smile on his face. He looked so damn happy to be there, Y/N realised as she watched him.
The interviewer went to move on, but Daniel stopped him. “Can I say something?” He asked, his eyes wide and that typical Daniel grin on his face, microphone still in his hands.
“Go for it,” the interviewer replied.
Daniel held his microphone up to his lips. “Hi Livvy, hi Milo!” He said and waved to the camera.
Y/N’s heart thudded in her chest as the kids both shrieked, the two of them excited as ever. That was maybe the sweetest thing anybody had ever done for her son. She couldn’t believe it, couldn’t believe he’d just said hello to him over the television. F
Daniel left the interview, seemingly skipping off. It wasn’t long before the race began and he was already in his AlphaTauri racing suit.
As the interviewer moved onto one last driver, Y/N’s phone buzzed in her pocket. She pulled it out and looked at the message
daniel riiiiiciaaaardoooo
thank you, milo's momma
She smiled down at her phone, threw it to the side, and watched as the adverts before the race started up.
The race began. Y/N and Milo had no idea what was was going on, but Olivia was more than happy to explain it to them. They didn't even have to ask and Olivia was telling them everything there was to know.
Y/N learnt that her eyes should have been following the number 3 car. She felt an immense amount of panic whenever two of the cars nearly collided.
Daniel spent the entire race in the midfield. When the two cars in front of him touched wheels and two of them went off the track, Y/N held onto her chest. Holy cow, how did anybody do this for a Jon? It was insane just how anxious she was feeling. The poor mothers of the drivers.
Milo was loving it. His eyes were glued to the screen for the entirety of the race.
As soon as the race was over, Y/N couldn't stop herself from texting Daniel about just how terrifying that race was to watch.
y/n (milo's momma)
Milo loved it, though
As soon as the text was sent Y/N got up to make the kids some dinner. Sausage and mash potato. It was a safe bet, something she hoped Olivia would enjoy.
After Dinner Y/N had to take Plivia back home. She didn't want to go, tried to hold onto the banisters to stop Y/N from taking her.
But she took her home, stood with her at the doors while she waited for her mother to open the door. "By Livvy," she said before she left. Olivia threw her arms around her before she trudged into her mothers house.

Revelations - part 2
Pairing: Daniel Ricciardo x Reader
Summary: bringing the kids to a gp
A/n: whoooo double drop day! Enjoy!!!!
requests open masterlist part one
——————————————
“You know the drill, stay with me or your dad,” you remind your son and daughter as Daniel parks. Oscar immediately came to visit your home when you got back to Australia, wanting to catch up on the hidden parts of his fellow Aussies lives. The exchange? Free babysitting.
Daniel is such a girl dad, it almost pains you that your daughter likes him more than you, but your son is a mama’s boy so it balances out.
“Florence, keep a tight hold of me,” Daniel says, carrying the four year old on his him. She dozes on his shoulder halfway to the paddock entrance. Your son, Sidney, had a tight grip of your hand. You decided to get here early, before media, so there was a less stressful entrance. Even the video that Red Bull posts of Daniel walking through the paddock blurs out your children’s faces.
“Uncle Maxie,” your daughter stretches her arms out to the Dutchman. He carefully takes her and walks off, chatting away. If it were anyone but Max, you might be concerned.
“Hi Uncle Christian,” Sidney greets his godfather excitedly, the older man equally happy to see his godson. Christian gives you and Daniel the go ahead to walk away and grab breakfast at Hospitality.
“Will you be okay watching them the whole race while being my engineer?” Daniel asks as you both pick at your plates.
“Kelly is going to keep an eye on them, they will be with her in the garage. I think your Mom is coming in for the race tomorrow,” you tell Daniel. You decided to test out their F1 tolerance during FP3 and Qualis instead of just the race.
They do well enough that you feel comfortable with having them in the garage for the race. You do your race engineer work from the garage instead of the pit wall, preferring to be closer with the mechanics and other engineers. Halfway through the race, your mother-in-law carefully hands you a fussy and tired Florence. You let her sit on your lap as you work, holding her close, something that F1TV caught. She notices you talking to her father.
Daniel, overtake is available at the next DRS
Copy, DRS is enabled
Nice overtake, continue to defend. Daddy?
Is that Flo? Tell her I said hi and to let you work.
Copy, focus on your race, please.
Florence is happy to know her dad heard her and quickly falls asleep on your shoulder.
Daniel, box, fresh set of hards are ready for you.
Copy. How are the kids?
Flo is sleeping and Sid is watching with P. Please focus on the race, Danny. Box, box.
Alright Mrs Ricciardo, I see how it is, all business no fun
Someone has to keep you focused, Daniel.
You honestly don’t know how no one had picked up on Daniel’s radio messages to you before your relationship was revealed. He does focus on the race, it’s his job, but every once in a while he does make comments that aren’t racing related. As the last few laps are underway, Florence wakes up from her nap. You point out her dad on one of the screens and decide to surprise him by letting her talk to him.
“Okay Flo, just like I told you,” you gently remove the headphones covering her ears and put the far too big headset on her. Christian is the one who suggested that you do that.
Great race Daddy, P5
Hi Baby Girl, did you help your mama out this race?
I did, just like you told me to.
Good job, I’m so proud of you. Now, let me talk to your mama, she has some special things to tell me. I’ll see you soon sweetheart.
Hey Daniel, great race. Team’s proud of you. Pull in for weigh ins and media. We will have a quick debrief but we are happy with the race.
Copy. Couldn’t have done it without you and the team. Thanks guys.
Kelly and Daniel’s mom entertain the kids while you and Daniel have post-race meetings, but when you get to his drivers room after your last meeting with the engineers, you find him passed out on the couch with your kids sleeping on him. You snap a picture, sending it to one of your Red Bull group chats as well as directly to Max and Oscar.
Social media was loving the radio clips of you and Daniel talking, as well as Florence congratulating her father. Pair that with the videos of her sleeping on your shoulder mid race and every other clip of you and Daniel with the kids, it’s no wonder why your family is trending.
“Dan,” you whisper, gently shaking your husband’s shoulder.
“Hm? Have I been asleep long?” He whispers, trying not to disturb the kids.
“Probably not. Let’s get back to the hotel,” you smile softly, gently picking up Florence so he can get up. He carries Sidney, who is still asleep, while you carry Florence. Thankfully for the both of you, you were ready to leave.
“No more races for them until they are older,” Daniel proposes.
“Unless it’s here, I think I will agree to that,” you nod, brushing hair off of Florence’s head. You realistically know Daniel only has a couple seasons left in him, and that Florence wants to race just like her dad, so it might be better to wait until one of you is available to be with them the whole time. Sidney stirs as you get closer to your car.
“That was fun, when are we going again?”

Cassiopea and Orion #2
Previous Part
A/N: I probably shouldn't be thinking up so many different story lines. But my mind won't let me focuse on something else in peace unless I write these snippets and parts out. So here have another part XD I still have a whole Danny and Bruce backstory conversation in my head that I will probably write out at some point too.
"Really B, another one?" A red helmet wearing guy huffed the moment he spotted her, the little black haired blue eyed girl, sitting on a railing by a huge computer set up Ellie was sure Uncle Tuck would have drooled over.
She blinked at the new arrival before her eyes went over to the man. The one she had told that Phantom lost his haunt. When she had spoken these words the air around the man had changed. Before Ellie even really knew what was happening, the man had turned away from her, talking to the still tense boy before whisking the both of them away to a cave. The place she was now, and one after another more and more of the weirdly dressed people showed up. Each of them appeared to feel the need to comment on something, Ellie heavily believed to be an inside joke.
She let her eyes wander over all the arrivals, her fingers nervously drumming on the metal of the railing she was sitting on. Watching them carefully, despite what Danny had told her, she would bold at the first sight of danger from them. They didn't appear to have any ecto-weapons but that could be false impression. Like the GIW. They had appeared so incompetent only to do a 180 decades later.
"So what is going on? Is B printing adoption papers already?" The red and black one appeared to joke and Ellie tilted her head. There definitely was a insider joke she was not aware of. It would be weird to ask them about it wouldn't it? It would also be rude and tactless. Danny and Aunt Jazz had tried to teach her to not always blurt out every question that pops up in her head. Key words, not always.
"Why would the furry need adoption papers?"
She blinked at how a couple of the people broke out laughing while the kid, who had been watching her like a hawk, was now full on shooting daggers at her. She was pretty sure the kid would have thrown a literal one at her, but something as keeping them from doing so. She heard a grunt, and her eyes went back to the man that had brought her here.
"Not necessary." The man muttered as he turned to face them, clicking a key on the keyboard of the computer, and Ellie blinked as an image of Phantom popped up on screen. The people laughing appeared to quiet down now. "She already has a father."
"Mom." Ellie automatically corrected, shrugging when they looked at her. Before everything had gone to shits and Danny's capture, he had become quiet the mother hen, especially with Dan's and her de-aging. The constant mothering and worry about their well-being had caused Dan to joke that Danny was acting like a mother and she had continued to run with that joke. Even after they had to put Dan into a frozen state under Frostbites care in Far Frozen. The two had silently agreed on that Danny was their mom. The past didn't matter and she would honour their silent sibling agreement.
She didn't elaborate any further and they seemed to get that as they turned back to the man by the computer, putting their attention on that. Though she did noticed that the other kids eyes lingered on her longer.
"This is Phantom. A ghost hero stationed at Amity Park. Code: Rho, one of Cassiopea's dying stars." The man paused, and Ellie swore he had looked at her under his cowl. "And this girl's, Elliza Danielle Phantom Nightingale's, mother. Code: Jupiter, the wandering star."
"How do you know my full name?! Plus, my only recently added ones! They are like only a month old! And what about these weird Codes?" She blurred out wide-eyed, staring at the man in bat costume.
"Even if sparse Phantom and I stayed in contact using these codes." And Ellie narrowed her eyes at him. "Doesn't answer my question."
"Actually, B we would also like to know more." One of the onlookers, that's what Ellie decided they were for now, piped up.
Bat guy grunted, staring them down but not answering. The onlooker in blue sighed but Ellie wasn't giving in. She crossed her arms, keeping her balance by floating slightly on the railing.
"Look, you big bad bee, if you can't tell me that, then how am I supposed to trust you to help me, let alone the rescue of Da- Phantom!"
The onlookers snickered as she held her little staring contest with the big bad bee. Jokes on that guy she had held staring contests with Frighty before and he doesn't even remember how to blink at times.
"Phantom and I correspond about various topics since our teen years." The bat guy finally admitted. "One of which was about... our children."
Ellie blinked several times. Until her eyes widened in realization and she pointed an accusing finger at bat guy. "You're the one that kept calling Danny about parent advice! Like how he got me to go to online school and prevented me from sneaking out or how he handled Dan's anger tantrums!"
"Wait... B went to someone other than Agent A for parent advice?" The red and black onlooker questioned and Ellie shrugged. Danny had always been sort of parenting her since he was 16 and Dan once they learned he was aging lower and then the de-aging happened. She did remember that Danny got his first phone call about parent advice when he was around 24.
Now that Ellie thought about it. That was also around the time he took her aside to tell her about the emergency code.
"Which one of us do you guys think was the cause?"
"Wing."
"Hood."
"Demon Brat."
Ellie blinked once more, her attention turning back to the onlookers as thet started to argue among themselves. She tilted her head, watching them. Looks like she accidentally got them off topic. Though now she really wanted to get the story out of Danny once they rescued him. For years she had caught snippets of Danny's phone calls, to think that the guy on the other end was a armored spandex wearing furry. She couldn't wait to tell Dan about that.
Well, once their mom was saved and her brother stabilized again.

~~~~
Jason looked at the phone screen and didn’t believe Danny has really decided to entrust his safety in the haunted lair to one drunk and unrequited Phantom.
He had enough. Jason jumped up and grabbed his helmet off the table.
‘Where do you think you’re going? Patrol’s coming soon.’ Tim took his eyes off the documents.
‘None of your business.’ Red Hood quickly found keys to a jet and ran for an exit. ‘Cass, while I’m gone, you’re in charge of the alley.’
~~~~
Demons, spirits, and ghosts swung around as if in a dance. And Danny, whom Jason easily spotted entering The Gambler’s Den, did not seem foreign at this festival of death. The red light gently illuminated his pale skin, which almost fused with color of his white kimono. The flowing fabric made his silhouette as blurry and elusive as most visitors.
One second without looking at the boy, and he was in the opposite corner, where the crowd were much smaller. VIP zone? Otherworldly creatures, deserving special treatment, were rarely friendly to humans. And Jason was tense about it for a moment. But after noticing waving with enthusiasm teenager, a man in white clothes rushed to respond to the gesture and a ghost with an eye patch sitting in the chair nodded to him, ringing with silver earrings.
Jason let his guard down a bit.
Another man in the black robe was not distracted by Danny. He threw the bones and glanced at them in disappointment. Then ghoul banged the table with fist. He rose, grabbed from a nearby bowl a mantou and bit. The next second his face was distorted by awareness and disgust.
He abruptly removed the triangle-shaped headband from Danny’s head and spat out a bite into it. Then ghoul fell to a floor. Well, nice carpets have softened it.
Jason shook his head, trying not to laugh at the strange situation.
At the same time, Danny boldly stepped over the fallen player and sat in a chair in front of the ghost in black and red clothes. The man began to demonstrate a technique of throwing bones, with continuous ringing after moving of his hands. Danny seemed passionate about this.
Constantine, who did not come with the Red Hood voluntarily, decides for the first time in the evening to speak out.
‘That’s weird.’ Constantine said with an intonation that spoke of his distrust of the situation.
‘What is it now?’ Jason took his eyes off the object of interest.
Fenton must be watched for his safety. Why did the warlock distract him? Jason completely distrusted Danny’s promise not to use his body parts as a bet.
‘His clothes.’ Constantine looked at the boy with discomfort. ‘Boy, are you sure your lover is alive?’
‘Don’t be rude. He looks great,’ said Jason ‘Maybe Danny wanted to dress up in a traditional costume. And it's not polite to ask people if they are alive. He’s always pale in all the photos. ’
Jason didn’t think costume selection was such a big deal.
‘No.’ Warlock shook his head ‘Kimono is Japanese national costume, not Chinese at all. And it’s on the left side which means your boyf..’
Unfamiliar to Jason spirit came up and patted Danny on the shoulder. The spirit and the boy bowed to each other.
‘I see.’ The puzzled expression on the warlock’s face is gone. ‘Your lover has interesting friends, Hood.’
‘Who is this guy? Explanation. Now.’ Jason barked irritably. Why did he always have to pull every word out of John?
‘Nurarihyon. Don’t be so nervous, he’s not dangerous to people. I just realized your boy here after a walk with Hyakki Yakko. Which explains the clothes.’ Сonstantine exhaled cigarette smoke and continued. ‘Your love doesn’t waste any time. In one evening, he met three ghost kings.’
‘Hyakki Yakko?’ Jason asked a lot calmer.
‘The night parade of one hundred demons when all of the yōkai, oni, ghosts parade through the streets.’ John shrugged his shoulders and shook the ashes off the cigarette into the nearest ashtray. It was also red and black. Warlock winced. ‘But your boyfriend feels like a fish in the water. Whoever his protector is, he is respected enough here. Let the guy have a drink and have some fun, he’ll be fine.’
‘God. Danny’s like a sheep in wolf’s clothing’ Jason sighed anxiously. ‘His parents are ghost hunters but he’s here as a plus one for Phantom, a ghost from Amity Park.’
‘More like a wolf in sheep’s clothing.’ Constantine muttered to himself. But when he saw a silver butterfly nearby, he decided that revealing other people’s secrets was not his problem. ‘I know who the Phantom is. Everyone has heard about Pariah Dark.’
Jason has not heard about him, but decided to keep quiet so as not to make a fool of himself. He will ask Danny about it.
Constantine took a brandy from the bartender. Then he took a big sip and looked at Jason. ‘You know, I always thought Little Red Riding Hood was incredibly stupid to let a wolf eat herself.’
‘What’s this about, Constantine?’ Hood rolled his eyes under the helmet.
And immediately he was glad that John did not see it. In the end, he helped him a lot not to scare Danny. Without the old man’s comments, he could have easily carried the boy away from the local ghosts on his shoulder like a caveman.
Jay didn’t want to spoil a first impression of a face-to-face meeting because of a kidnapping. Although, looking at how comfortable Fenton was among the nonhuman creatures, Jason doubted that Danny would have been screaming and panicking. But he wouldn’t be happy about being distracted from the fun. Hood shook his head in disappointment.
‘Nothing important.’ John brushed the silver butterfly off his shoulder. ‘You know, I’m in debt to the owner, so..If you don’t need my favors anymore, I’m leaving.’
‘Wait. Help me find Phantom.’ Сrime lord stopped him. ‘I need to make sure he doesn’t leave Danny here alone.’
John turned and looked at him as if he were terminally ill. ‘Phantom is in this room now. Only an idiot would have missed him.’ John spoke slowly and clearly, raising one eyebrow. ‘A conference of four kings. No joke. Stop poking around and messing up international relations, kid.’
Jason looked around the room again. ‘I don’t see him.’
‘Because you’re an idiot, kid’ John patted Jay on the shoulder and left. ‘Good luck explaining to Batman why you stole his jet.’
‘Heck.’

(Cute Fenton!Damian and Big Bro Danny moment)
"Danny! Look!" Damian said proudly holding up a test paper, almost rubbing it on her brother's face, much to Danny's annoyance. "I passed the test! I got 87! It's all thanks to you, big bro! Tee-hee!"
Damian continued to giggle while he cradled the piece of paper on his hands.
(I'm going to change that grade, bc in NO universe would Damian get an 87 😭 my boy is an overachiever)
Danny plucked the paper from his grasp and looked at the red ink marking the page with an A+. "Wow! This is amazing! Did you show Jazz yet?"
Damian nodded eagerly as he took the test back. "Yep! Mom said to show you! Look, this is the question that you taught me!" He flipped the test to point at the extra credit question that Danny had indeed taught him the other day, answered perfectly with the method that Danny had shown him.
Danny beamed. "I'm so proud of you, Dami!"
Damian grinned and happily hid his pink cheeks behind his test. Then he declared, "I'm going to show Grandma and Grandpa! See ya! Also, Mom wants me to tell you that dinner is ready in five minutes." He turned his head and beckoned to his shadow protector. "C'mon, Shadow! We have to find Grandpa and Grandma!"
Then he scampered away, his lab coat swishing behind him with Shadow quickly following.
Danny watched him go with a smile before he settled back into his seat with his phone again.
Man, it was certainly hard to be an uncle.

Heya! I love your works! You always manage to turn tropes on their heads and make them anew! I was wondering, are you going to continue The Audit? I loved the dynamics of the Bats interacting with Danny, and Damian and Danny's relationship was downright delightful!
Damian rarely got nervous because of the tension in the room. It wasn't in his nature, having been born with Father's ability to keep a cool head.
But watching the stare-down between his Father and Uncle Daniel was very nerve-wracking. He was still determining who was winning at this point. Father had retreated fully into Batman, locking away all and any emotions behind his persona, which was bizarre to see on his maskless face.
Meanwhile, Uncle Daniel's emotions are displayed for the world to see in the heavy set of his jaw, the down pull of his lips, and the ice in his gaze.
Between the two men sat a pile of paper with various red markings. Damian hadn't gotten the chance to review the documents, but he knew there was a lot, and most of it had not been good. He likely failed the audit.
His uncle had stayed at Wayne Manor for three days, despite the many attempts by the Bats besides Damian to get him out. He had been silently observing everything that happened within the manor's walls. Uncle Daniel took his position as an observer in the literal sense.
He did not speak or interact with anyone besides Damian and often ended up scaring his adoptive siblings since they didn't notice him in the room. Damian personally thinks it was their own fault for being frightened. Obviously, they needed more training if they were unable to detect his uncle.
It's not like the man was hiding; he is good at entering rooms as silent as a ghost. Damian knew all other league-raised children could sense when Uncle Daniel was about, so really, people trained by Batman should have caught him miles away.
Todd and Cain were an honest disgrace for failing to notice Uncle Daniel until his pen clicked to write down what he observed. Damian attempted to improve things by presenting the best of Wayne Manor, but he knew the more he tried, the more Uncle Daniel used the red pen.
He only thought he did well on the audit by showing off his various animal friends. Uncle Daniel seemed very taken with Batcow the most, and after helping Damian milk her, he had finally switched the color on his multi-pen to green.
"I will not repeat myself again, Mr. Wayne," Uncle Daniel hissed, snapping Damian from his thoughts. Father's eyes narrowed.
"You deemed me unfit for my son."
"I deem you unfit for all your children."
Father's face remained impassive, but Damian knew him well enough to see the displeasure rolling off his body in waves. "I try my best for my children."
"Not nearly enough." Uncle Daniel reached for the papers, flipping through the handwritten notes to a page, taking on three lines. When Damian leaned over to read, Uncle Daniel's hand shot out and he pushed his head away.
"No, Little One. These are your sibling's personal files. You can not read them." It's mostly because he respects his uncle greatly that he did not throw a fit for being excluded from the conversation. And the fact that his uncle switched over to their native tongue.
It had been startling to realize how much he missed hearing his language. And how warm it made him feel to use it here in Gotham.
Father pulled the paperwork to him. His blue eyes rapidly moved over the words before he flipped to the next page, the next, and the next. Each time, his actions became more frantic until he reached the end.
Then he just stared at the audit his uncle had written with a strange blank look in his eyes. Damian felt very unnerved.
"Damian, go wait in your room," Father said softly, gaze still not lifting from the report.
"What? Father-"
"Now, Damian."
The boy turned to his uncle for help, but the other man merely smiled. "It's alright, Little One. Your father and I will settle this."
It was ludicrous to remove him from the room to discuss his future. Still, Damian knew he would not be able to convince the two most important men in his life of this, and while Uncle Daniel was a pacifist, it didn't mean he was weak in any way.
He would have Damian removed, and walking out with dignity was better. The young ninja huffed, strutting out of the room, down the hall, and up the main stairway to his bedroom. He ignored the various Wayne-adopted dolts that were trying to eavesdrop on the conversation.
None of them had learned that if Uncle Daniel did not want anyone hearing his conversations, then no one would hear a thing. This was one of the many mysteries surrounding Uncle Daniel.
No one in the current League of Assiaians knew much about the First Son, mainly because no one had lived as long as he and Grandfather, but they all knew he had extraordinary powers.
Drake is a fool who thinks he can record all of Uncle's abilities when he hasn't even scraped the suffering of everything Uncle Daniel could do.
And he never will. A nasty voice whispers in his mind. Damian opens his bedroom door, taking one final look around, trying to fight off the wave of sadness. He can not say his stay here had been easy, but he had grown attached to his life at Wayne Manor.
It's a foolish attachment. It didn't matter.
He had failed the audit, and Uncle Daniel would have him moved. Damian's eyes burned slightly, making him blink rapidly as he began packing his room.
He had been able to adjust to the sudden move from the league to Gotham; Damian could do it again. He was halfway done getting everything of value stored in his suitcases when his Father appeared at his door.
"Damian? What are you doing?" The man's voice sounds crushed, and Damian refuses to meet his gaze. He needs to leave through the Wayne Manor doors with his dignity.
"I am sure it's quite clear what I am doing, Father." He says, folding his shirts in the military style Pennyworth had shown him. It saved the most space, and the idea that he will never learn more little tricks from the age bullet makes the burn in his eyes stronger.
A few traitorous tears fall, landing on his blue-gry shirt and turning a few spots into a dark blue.
"I won't let him take you," Father promises, strutting towards Damian and hugging him. The child stiffens at once before more tears silently fall down his face.
"You can not stop Uncle. He can take all of us away."
"I know," Father admits. "That's why I have agreed to his terms."
"Terms?"
"Mr. Wayne and I have agreed on a trial period. He will go to therapy to improve his behavior and communication skills with his children. I will be living here and monitoring the progress. It will be one year." Uncle Daniel says suddenly, right next to their hug, his cold arms warping around Damian and overlapping Father's.
Father's face was spammed at the contact, but Damian had never felt so warm or protected.
He sinks into the hug, watching Uncle Daniel's warm, soft gaze stare down at him. Then, his gaze hardens into disgust as Father leans on Damian's hair. Uncle Daniel quickly leans onto the other side of Damian's skull, trying to comfort him.
Relief crashes into Damian. The audit was not over; he still had a year to prove to Uncle that he should live here with Father. He will not be moved.
But it will take a miracle for his father to change that drastically. His uncle would remove him unless Damian could show him that there was something here worth staying for.
He needed a plan, a goal, an appeal to Uncle Daniel's more gentle, idealistic views. But what? He could try to become more brotherly with his adoptive siblings. That could buy him a few more months.
I need something more. Something more binding. Damian thinks, pressing his face into the two men's arms. He does not need comfort like a child, but being held like this is.... pleasant.
"Oh! Family Group Hug!" Richard screams from the hallway before the man is sprinting into the room. Father makes a face but Uncle Daniel opens the hug, leaving a gap for Richard.
The man barrels in with a shout of glee, squeezing the three almost desperately. Damian would make a face, but he understands just how great Uncle Daniel's hugs can be, and added to the fact Father is not one to show displays of affection, this is Richard's best chance to-.
Wait.
That's it! Uncle's one weakness is being there for children who need him. Damian realizes, a plan forming in his mind, as Brown, Drake, and Cain run into the room. They pause at the sight before all three are invited into Uncle's hug. Brown leaps in for her hug, and Cain hesitantly approaches while Drake stays safely away, eyeing the group with distaste.
Uncle Daniel locks eyes with the teenager by the door, offering a sad smile, and Damian can see that he genuinely wants Drake in this hug but will not force him.
He respects Drake's boundaries because, to Uncle Daniel, adoption means family. He considers Drake to be Damian's brother, so he would treat him with the same care and love as he does for Damian.
Usually, that would bother him greatly, but Damian is too proud of himself for thinking of such a great plan.
There was no way Father would change enough in one year to satisfy Uncle into thinking he was a good fit for raising children. That's fine.
All Damian had to do in that year was convince Uncle to stay at Wayne Manor to do the child-raising himself. This way Damian could remain in Gotham, no matter the audit's results.
How does one trap a man in child-raising when none of the children are his biological? Simple. They get them married to someone with children, and Father just so happens to be without a paramour.
Damian has to get two men to fall in love in one year. It should be simple. With Uncle Daniel's protective core and Father's determination to save Gotham, there may be enough common ground between them to spark romance!
"I love you guys!" Richard crows, squeezing everyone he can reach.
"Hn," Father grunts, while Brown and Cain both inform Richard they care for him as well. Damian softly mutters, "I care for you too," which is much better than Father's.
Uncle's snaps.
"Your son said he loves you, but you don't even respond? You are a brute, Mr. Wayne."
"And you are a leech." Father hisses.
Damian winces. This will take a lot of work. Good thing he's never cowered from a challenge.

Batclan and Catband (part 2)
> previous part
> next part
.・゜-: ✧ :-
Dinner ended up a relatively calm affair, or as calm as it can be with the batclan and the cat catband in one place.
"Where is elle actually?" Selina asks, leaning on the table with a grin.
"With her aunty harley and pam," he answers, phone in hand. "They're bringing her over soon, tho."
Dick, sitting opposite of Danny, perks up at that. "Your daughter, right? How old is she?"
The teen practically glows at the question, proud and not far from showing it.
"Become 2 recently! A gremlin in sheep clothes, truly. She knows how to get what she wants, a habit learned from her glam glam." At the last words, he gives catwoman the stink eye, huffing when she laughs at him.
"I have been wondering, how old are you, danny? If you don't mind." Bruce has an easygoing smile on, but Danny knows that glint in his eyes.
"Also freshly turned 18."
Both Selina and Danny watch the other man carefully, one hiding her sharp stare, the other openly showing it.
"Isn't that a bit young to become a single parent?" The man asks in concern, no matter he should be with emotions, mother and son recognise the tone of worry and relax slightly.
"Her circumstances of appearing in our life is not much to be desired. However, we are very happy with her joining our little family at that time."
Danny speaks fondly, smiling as he recalls the moments. "Selina helped immensely when needed and didn't shy from showering the little gremlin in love"
While the batclan would have loved to continue the conversation, Alfred appeared with a gentle smile.
"Master Danny, there is a guest waiting patiently at the front door for you, I'm afraid she might just run off with no one watching." He gives a very amused look at the members of the table.
He shoots out of his chair, letting the butler lead him out and about.
Once the teen is gone, does Bruce straighten his form and look at selina.
"What about the mother? Is there anything—"
"I'll stop you right there, bat dear." She holds up her hand, giving a sharp smile.
"While I'd rather not talk behind Danny's back like this," she gives the table a look, noting that every member seems to be in their vigilante persona.
"Elle doesn't have a mother, I won't explain any details without Danny's consent, but this is more of a Kon-El situation."
(Bruce, in particular, doesn't like how that info makes everything else snap into place, and the final picture isn't much better.)
"Kon-El situation– isn't she a toddler??"
"Why would anyone go for danny??"
"Was it Lex Luthor–?!"
Their questions were silenced by the sound of tiny footsteps running to the door and swinging it open with no grace.
The tiny being runs around the table, peeks over it to see where a certain woman is located at and sprint to her lap.
The father of said being isn't far from her, making sure she doesn't trip nor fall. Alfred closes the doors and flawlessly slips next to Bruce, the amused smile very much still present.
"Glam glam!" The tiny girl squeals excited, getting pulled up and seated, just in sight of everyone else.
She is like a carbon copy of her father, minus the gender, but at the stares she becomes quite shy, very endearing.
Danny sits next to them, grin on his face and gesturing to the batclan.
"Wanna meet your uncles and aunts, elle darling?"

Benny x Reader Pt 3
A/N: not going to lie, this didnt turn out as good as I had hoped. But it helps progress the story haha.
Tag List (I forgot last part)
@mrsalwayswrite
If you want to be added to the tag list, just have to comment so.
“What was it like the first time you went to a Vandals picnic?” Danny asked, sitting at the counter in your kitchen, recorder resting before him.
You were cutting up vegetables for a stew you were cooking. “It was like a big family reunion. Good food, good drink, good fun”.
“Big family reunion, huh?” Danny chuckled.
You laughed. “Yeah. You have the men gathering together or small groups, drinking and talking shop. While the women gather and swap stories and looking after the little ones”.
“How did that day go for you?” Danny asked with genuine interest.
~~~
When Lilly had called you that morning to ask if you wanted to go to a Vandals picnic, you had been a tad hesitant. But after some reassurance and a few stories, along with mention of racing and Andy taking part, you gave in. So here you were, at a Vandals picnic. You’d dressed for the occasion, light three-quarter sleeved sweater, dark slacks and tennis shoes. From how muddy the location got; you thought best to not wear anything too good.
Getting out of Lilly’s car you noticed a group of women a few meters away. And then Lilly came over, linking arms pulling you over to them. She greeted them warmly and introduced you, to which they greeted back, as well as introduced themselves. Most of them seemed nice, while a few looked you up and down. None the less you fell into this group, talking and drinking, their little ones playing or running around you all.
You looked around, taking in the groups of men. Some were just drinking and talking, others were by some bikes checking them out, and a few were play jostling each other while laughing, no doubt on the drunk side. Watching two of them topple over each other, falling ungracefully onto the grass, you laughed at them with a few of the women.
Benny had noticed you as soon as you got out of Lilly’s car. He’d been anticipating you to show up, as Lilly never missed a picnic, and your brother was racing. So he figured you would show up. Benny thought you looked better then when he last saw you, though he had secretly hoped you’d worn another dress. He would have loved to see those bare legs again. Which then led him to some scandals thoughts, such as you in a dress and straddling his lap. But he could wait, there would be another time to see you in a cute dress.
You finally landed on Benny, who was standing around with Johnny and another man, beer in hand and his eyes on you. Like a moth to a flame. A look crossed his face when he realized you had noticed him staring, and it made your heart skip a beat. What was it about Benny that drew you in? Sure, he was good looking, looked amazing on a bike, and there was this air about it that was exciting but comforting.
Lilly nudged your side, a small smirk on her face. “You good?”
You turned from Benny, though could feel his eyes still on you. “Yeah, I’m good”.
“You sure?” She asked, still smirking but a little bigger. “You wouldn’t want to go over to some guys and chat?”
You shook your head, feeling your cheeks warm up.
“Come on” Lilly giggled, linking arms and dragging you over to the three men you’d just been looking at. And to one of them in particular.
All three males looked up when Lilly came bouncing over, you trying to dig your feet into the ground to stop her, failing terribly. If you weren’t sure how to act before, you didn’t know now. This time you would have to speak in front of him or to him, and he to you. What would he say? What would you say? Your heart felt like it was going to beat out of your chest, your mind running wild.
“Uncle Johnny, Brucie and Benny, I’d like you to meet my good friend (Y/N), well officially introduce you, Uncle Johnny and Benny” Lilly said letting go of your arm.
“Hello. Nice to officially meet ya” said Johnny with a small smile. “Was an interesting way to find out about ya the other week”.
You felt your face heat up in embarrassment, wishing you could forget how both men had seen you. “Ah, yeah...not how I usually make an entrance”.
Lilly laughed at your words.
“What entrance did you make?” Brucie asked confused on what he missed out on.
You were about to explain before someone beat you to it.
“Angel here was riding Andy’s racer before he fixed out the issues with it. She came flying towards Fred, Johnny and me, but managed to pull off a slide stop without crashing” came Benny’s gravelly voice. His baby blues – which you now know – trained on you, watching you closely.
How was this man even real? It should be illegal for him to look and sound the way he does. Benny was a walking, talking temptation.
Brucie whistled. “Guess you take after your brother”.
You turned back to Brucie. “I guess so, though we worked and rode bikes together when I was a teenager”.
Brucie nodded. “Of course. You looking forward to seeing him race?”
You smiled. “Yeah, I am”.
After that small talk was made, which put you at ease. Though Benny was still watching you, you could see him from the corner of your eye. Soon a few of the guys came walking past, telling you all that the races were starting. Upon hearing Andy’s name, you and Lilly took off to find a spot to watch the races. The distance you put between yourself and Benny allowed you to relax, the air returning to your lungs.
Picking to stand on a small hill that overlooked a quarter of the track, you and Lilly looked at each other before laughing with excitement. When the three riders lined up, you saw Andy was in the middle. Lilly called out ‘go Andy’, which he turned seeing you both and waved. With the drop of a bandanna they were off, you bouncing on the spot hoping and praying Andy won and was in one piece.
For most of the race you could only hear the bikes, but when they came back into view you and Lilly were chatting ‘come on!’ and holding on to each other’s arms. The last few turns were on the sloshy side, making it great to slide but also dangerous. But eventually Andy crossed the line first, you both cheering and jumping up and down. You both decided to hang around and watch more races. Over time more Vandals and women came to watch. Including the one person who had a way of putting you in a choke hold with a look: Benny.
Benny had finally got away from Johnny and Brucie, making his way over to the race area, and you. He didn’t hide anything, just casually walked up to where you both were standing. Smoke in hand, Benny took the place next to you. You didn’t notice till after the current race of a presences next to you. When you turned and looked at him, Benny watched as your eyes widened before turning back to the racetrack. He smiled to himself at your reaction.
Lilly, sensing a change in you, turned to find you both had a new companion. “Well, nice of you to join us” she said with a smile.
Benny nodded, taking a drag from his smoke, holding it for a few seconds before realizing it. He didn’t say anything, just stood there. He was watching the race that just started. But every now and then he’d look at you from the corner of his eye. He studied your profile; the slope of your cute nose and how your lips were slightly full. Every now and then you looked down before back up, no doubt your mind running with thoughts.
You felt nervous being so close to Benny. You were trying to not let his close proximity effect you. Taking a deep breath, you slowly released it, hoping it would calm your racing heart. It only worked a small bit, if even that. You lowered your eyes, looking to Benny from under eyelashes. He looked to be watching the race, but you had a feeling he was watching you. You felt like there were eyes on you. Looking back to the race you lift your gaze to watch the racers come into view before coming to the finish line.
“Hmm” mused Lilly, watching you and Benny. “I’m going to get a drink, you both want one?”
You shot her a look that said don’t leave me. But she just smiled at you. Benny just nodded his head. “Alright, I’ll get us drinks. Be back soon~” Lilly finished with a bit of a sing-song tone.
You watched her skip off toward the group of women, before turning your gaze back to the racetrack, moving to cross your arms over your chest. Now what? It was just you and Benny, who was once again looking at you. What could you say? Would he talk? Just then Benny finished his smoke, tossing it to the ground and stomping it out.
For Benny, he was trying to work out what to say. In this situation it was the females that would talk to him, but you were different. Maybe you both were similar like that, that silence spoke more then actual words. But how long could it go on for? He wanted to hear you speak, he wanted to hear your sweet voice.
“I gotta say...” Benny began, trying to choose his next words. “You can handle a racer pretty good”.
His gravelly voice hit your ears and sent a shiver down your spine. You didn’t expect him to break the silence. Words stuck in your throat, not being able to get out.
“It was like seeing an Angel on wheels” he added, hoping to get anything out of you.
That snapped you out of your silence. “Ha. The saying is Devil on wheels” you scoffed. Before feeling a little embarrassed by your brazen words.
Benny chuckled with that gravelly voice of his. “I know the sayin’ Angel” – Benny lent in towards you – “but when a gorgeous girl comes sliding on a bike before me, it was like seeing an Angel on wheels”, he then winked.
You could have swallowed your tongue. You could feel your face heating up, and no doubt your were going pink. The way he just complimented you set your stomach a flutter. No guy had ever said anything like that before. Sure a few small compliments, but mostly men told you – in various ways – a woman didn’t belong on a bike. You’d been cursed and ridiculed, shunned by some people too. Yet here was a biker giving you a compliment.
Finally you felt your tongue loosen, even with his heated gaze on you. “It was just a racer” you spoke softly, “nothing like your bike. It was light and easy to handle”.
Benny nodded. “That’s true, but you still handled it good. I know a few racers that would crack up in that situation”. Again he gave you praise, which only embarrassed you further, yet it also seemed to calm you.
“Maybe...” was all you reply with.
“If you want...I could teach you to ride my bike” He stated, feeling self-conscious, something that rarely happens to Benny. “It might be heavier but I think you could handle it”.
His words took a moment to sink in, when they did all you could do was slowly nod your head. After that silence fell between you too, while turning back to the racetrack and riders before you. Though every now and then you would steal glances at the other, seeming more comfortable after talking to each other.
A few minutes later Lilly came bouncing back, two beers and a pop in hand. She past you the pop before handing Benny a beer. He didn’t waste time taking a swig while looking at the riders on the track.
Lilly nudged your shoulder, leaning in to whisper, “what happened!?”
You hit her arm, glancing at Benny to make sure he hadn’t herd. And you didn’t think he did. “I’ll tell you later” you whispered back, which Lilly pouted at.
The rest of the afternoon you spent hanging out with the women and kids, talking and laughing. Benny was always with some of the guys, but would keep an eye on you, just like you would him. A few women noticed, making some comments that embarrassed you. One even tried to warn you about him, but Lilly said to not pay her any mind. Sure Benny wasn’t perfect, but he was a good guy.
As the sun began to set, that was when you and Lilly decided to make tracks. A few of the Vandals protested but Lilly said you both were expected back at hers for dinner with her parents. And her mum wasn’t a women to keep waiting. So off you both went. An eventful day that was the start of something to come.
~~~
“Over all it was a good day” you smiled to yourself.
Danny chuckled. “Seems like it. What happened next with you and Benny?”
You smiled wider at his question, knowing you’d tell him everything.

Library
(An excerpt from the prequel to Gotham Rogue Vlad Masters. Vlad is 29, Jazz is 6, Danny is 4)
Masterlist
Vlad was still a weak man, no matter how much he tried not to be.
He sat in the castle library, knees pulled to his chest and eyes trained on the cassette player sitting on the oak coffee table. The library was one of his favorite parts of the castle and one of the reasons he’d fallen in love with the place. Most of the books had been about cheese, its history and the many ways to make it, but he was slowly replacing them with his own collection. Currently it was mostly the well loved science textbooks he’d obsessed over in his teens, but he had several boxes of the classical literature he’d started reading in his free time. He’d despised fiction for most of his life, but he could appreciate it now.
Vlad leaned forward and pressed the rewind button.
“Hey Vladdy!” The tinny voice of Jack filtered through the speaker of the cassette player. “Remember how Maddie was pregnant? Not anymore! We have a daughter Vladdy! Can you believe it?”
Vlad stared at the black plastic speaker, a mask of emotionless on his face even as every emotion rushed through him.
“She’s beautiful V-man! Has her mother’s hair! She’s six pounds, did you know how tiny babies are? She’ll need to do a lot of catching up to me!” Jack laughed boisterously, air whooshing through the speaker as the phone was moved.
“Say hi to Vlad!”
There was a crackling sigh, tired but fond, and then she spoke.
“Jack, I’m feeding the baby. Hi Vlad, hope you’re well.” Vlad took a shuddering breath, mouth tasting like bile. She sounded so serene, so alive.
“Can’t wait for you to meet her Vladdy!” Jack yelled as he took the phone back, a little baby crying briefly before Maddie’s cooing quieted them. “We should all get together soon, the four of us! Jazzy is going to love her uncle, I just know it!”
The last day he saw Jack and Maddie in person was the lab accident. He’d obsessed over pictures and recordings, over website updates and phone calls, but he hadn’t seen them once since he died. Ten years, in a few months it would be ten years since the accident, and nine since he died.
“Is that my dad?”
Vlad jumped, the leather in his armchair tearing as his claws slipped out.
He fought the urge to walk away, to continue putting on a strong facade and not caring about Jack and Maddie’s deaths. To not acknowledge it, maybe for the kids sake and maybe for his.
“Yes.”
Jasmine hesitated in the doorway, hands tucked away in the sleeves of her pajamas. She had plenty of nightgowns, but she loved keeping her arms and hands covered as much as possible. After a long moment Vlad motioned her to come in and watched her slink around the edge of the room until she stood at his side.
“I recorded these a long time ago. This was when you were born.” He reached down and pressed the rewind button, the mechanical wirr filling the room at the tape rewinded.
“Hey Vladdy!”
They listened to Jack’s boisterous voice together.
“Why…” Jazz sniffled, trying to hide her tears with her sleeves. “Why didn’t you ever come? Dad always called you, and he’d get sad, and mom would say you’re busy. Why didn’t you wanna see us?”
“Oh Jasmine, it wasn’t anything you and Daniel did.” It wasn’t. It was the idea of them, the idea of the perfect happy family of his enemy and first love while he learned to puppet his own corpse. He couldn’t face that until he was forced to.
Jazz set on the edge of the leather ottoman, eyes drawn to the tape as it ended with a click. She watched him silently as he opened the shoebox and placed the ejected tape inside.
“…can I pick one?” Vlad hesitated. Nobody had ever seen his tapes, let alone touched them. They were precious to him, the only weakness he had allowed himself, but Jack and Maddie were gone now. These memories weren’t ones he could selfishly hide, they belonged to Jazz and Daniel now as well.
He pushed the box towards her, watching her fingers peek from beneath the fabric of her sleeves and run along the cassette labels. She pulled out a tape labeled for Daniel’s birth, handing it to her godfather. She continued to look through the tapes as he placed the cassette inside and started it.
“V-man! I bet I just missed ya! I come with big news, you’re an uncle! Again!” Jack laughed loudly, probably throwing his head back and screwing up his eyes the way he always did, with his cheeks and nose flushed from joy and his eyes bright. Vlad’s chest ached.
“His name is Daniel James Fenton and he’s a chip off the old block! Still small, but he’ll be just like his dad, I know it! Jazzy is so excited to be a big sister!” The audio crackled before a small child was heard.
“Hello!” A two year old Jazz yelled.
“It’s Uncle Vlad!“
“Vlad! Unk Vlad! Hello!”
“He’s not actually on the line dear.” Maddie could be heard in the background. She sounded exhausted, but fond of her husband and daughter.
“Oh. Bye-bye.”
Jack laughed again, so uncaring and free and infuriating.
“I’ll call back later since you’re busy, V-man. Love you!”
“Jack, it’s talk later, not I Love You.” Maddie corrected.
“But I love him?” Jack sounded confused as the line clicked and the tape reached its end.
Jazz was trying hard to keep her composure, but there were tears in her eyes.
“Jasmi-“
“When I was little, I thought you were like Santa.” Her voice was wavering, eyes wide as she tried not to blink and let tears fall. Vlad didn’t correct her that she was still little.
“I thought all kids had an Uncle Vlad that their dad made up to make them feel better. But you were real, you were real and you still didn’t come see us. Not until mom and dad died and you had to!”
Vlad didn’t know what to say as angry tears spilled over against the six year olds best efforts, hands flying up to hastily scrub away the evidence.
“Why do you keep pretending you want us? I don’t wanna go back to the hospital and I don wanna lose Danny but you didn’t want us!”
Vlad hadn’t wanted to suddenly have his former friend’s children in his home, but he couldn’t fathom them being with anyone else. He dug to the bottom of the tape box to find the only college photo he hadn’t torn up or defaced. They all looked so young, all wearing lab coats and hanging off each other. No one was looking at the camera and Jack had pulled both Vlad’s and Maddie’s feet off the ground from how hard he hugged.
“I loved your parents.” He handed her the most precious thing he had, even more than his signed football that he’d viscously outbid a children’s hospital for. Though, maybe it wasn’t anymore.
She took it gently, scarred fingers peeking out and running over her parents faces.
“Then why?” She whispered, lip quivering as she brushed her knuckle down her mom’s curls.
Why indeed.
“I got hurt, and I had to get better.” Her father had caused it, had killed him, and he’d suffered, but she didn’t need to know that. As much as he hated Jack he wouldn’t corrupt her memories of her father. “I was hurt for a long time, and when I finally was better I realized how much I missed, and it was far too late.”
“Dad used to say you were busy, when I was little it was because you were sick, but last time he said you had a company now, and you were a business man. He was really happy.”
Vlad bit his tongue until he tasted blood, setting down the tape he was holding before he crushed it. How did Jack have the right to be happy for him after ruining his life?!
“I see.”
“Uncle Vlad?” Jazz brushed hair from her eyes, looking so much like her mom aside from the light streak. Maddie always had naturally straight hair despite the hours spent making it curly each morning.
“Yes dear?”
“You promise you won’t make us leave when you don’t want us anymore?”
Vlad’s core twinged as white hot pain shot through it. It was still healing after his obsession break, but it had been doing much better lately. Henry played off the pain without showing it, huffing a puff of smoke out his nostrils and leveling her with a serious look.
“Jasmine.” He offered his hands palms up, and she slowly reached out to touch the very tips of her fingers to them.
“I am never going to not want you and your brother. In fact, I will commit crimes against humanity before I let either of you be taken from me.”
Jazz considered that for a moment.
“What if you die?” She whispered, betraying her worries.
“Oh Jasmine.” He grinned, perhaps with too many teeth. “I’m a very hard man to kill.”
They listened to a few more tapes until Jazz was fast asleep curled under his arm, finally relaxed in the presence of her parent’s voices. She was easy to carry back to bed, but he took his time crossing the house to the kid’s room.

Halloween Traditions Tim/Danny
Danny smiled to himself as he watched Violet run across the room doing flips and cartwheels excitedly. He glanced over at his husband and snorted.
“Are you seriously still pouting?” He asked, arching an eyebrow at the vigilante. Tim let out a huff and crossed his arms over his chest.
“I wanted her to be like a princess or I dunno like a robot or a zombie!” He grumbled angrily, still watching their daughter dressed in her gaudy and obnoxious costume. When the lights of their home hit it just right, the sequins seemed to shine right in Danny’s eyes. Silently, he agreed with his husband. Out of all the costumes in the world, Violet really had to pick this one for what she wanted to be for Halloween. But they were encouraging parents, they had to let their daughter choose what she wanted to make her happy. And apparently, this costume made her happy.
“I understand but we should have known better than to show her the costume with the sequins,” Danny said with a wince as Violet giggled and flew around their heads. The four-year-old was beyond happy to go trick or treating tonight with her uncles. The four men were going to be there any minute now and Danny had a feeling that Violet would get quite the reaction from her costume once they got here.
Truly, Dick had outdone himself this year.
It had turned into a tradition for the Wayne family upon the birth of their first niece. Each one would gift the Nightingales a costume of their vigilante personas for Violet to dress up as. On her first Halloween, she was only one month old and Danny and Tim had decided to ignore all of the costumes gifted to them and dress her as her namesake. She had worn a beautiful little violet flower costume.
The next year Violet was one and the couple had again vetoed all of the vigilante costumes and instead dressed her up as a potato. Something that no one found funny but Tim and Danny but it was fine, they thought it was genius.
When she was two the couple had dressed her up as a ghost, again no one was amused but the couple, but they were thriving with getting to choose their baby’s Halloween costumes and ignore all of the horrible vigilante costumes thrust at them by their family.
Her fourth Halloween Violet had gotten old enough to actually make her own decisions for her costumes and had declared happily to her parents that she wanted to dress up like a unicorn which of course her parents happily obliged.
This year, though, Dick was a traitor. He was a horrible scumbag of a man and Danny knew that Tim would never forgive his eldest brother for this slight against their family. He had managed to worm his way into becoming Violet’s favorite uncle and not only that, but he had shown her the wonders of Discowing.
And somehow that had been all Violet was able to talk about this year was her desire to be sparkly like her Uncle Nightwing. And that was the biggest kick in the teeth for the couple.
Danny had taken one look at the costume and he had been horrified. Tim had nearly sobbed in horror upon seeing the atrocious get-up. And what was worse was the fact that Dick brought his old Discowing costume out of retirement to match.
“People are going to see Dick as Discowing and they’re going to immediately make the connection that he’s Nightwing,” Tim said with a sigh.
“I doubt it, Jason said he’s going as a zombie, Duke is going as the sun, and Damian said he’s going to be dressed up as a pirate,” Danny said with a soft laugh. “I think it’ll be enough to keep people from thinking that Dickie Grayson is Nightwing. Not everyone is as smart as you are Dear,” he said, pressing a kiss to Tim’s temple. Violet dropped from the air and landed in Tim’s lap just as the doorbell rang and the front door burst open just a moment later, the four brothers barging in without a care in the world.
“Daddy you caught me!” Violet giggled, staring up at Tim with her beautiful blue eyes. Danny just smiled down at her for a moment. The two had discussed having their little ball of ghostly joy for nearly a year before Danny had decided to get off of testosterone to have her. They had weighed out all of the pros and cons of raising a daughter and had found themselves wanting a child more than anything in the world and a year later, the twenty-two-year-olds had found themselves with the most perfect ball of joy.
“Violet!” A voice screeched, shaking Danny from his reverie and he groaned as soon as he looked up to find Dick bounding towards them to grab the four-year-old and pull her into his arms. He looked just as obnoxious as Danny was suspecting he would.
“Are you seriously going to go out in that?” Danny asked staring at the get-up in absolute horror.
Dick grinned and stuck his tongue out at Danny for just a moment before he turned his attention to the little girl in a matching costume.
“Is there anything we need to know before we take Violet out for trick or treating?” Damian asked, ever the most mature out of the Wayne boys.
Danny smiled. “Just keep her safe at all costs and make sure her grandpa remembers that she’s staying the night tonight,” he said softly, carefully wrapping his arm around Tim’s shoulders. He was sad that he was missing out on Halloween, just as he was every year since they had their daughter. But it was unfortunately unavoidable.
This was the time of the year when the veil was at its thinnest and therefore Danny was at his most unstable. He could barely keep his human form together the week of Samhain and Tim was stuck on guard duty to keep Danny from losing control. He was armed with an improved Fenton Thermos and was given strict rules to soup Danny if his powers started to fritz out even a smidgen.
“And what about you Ghostie?” Jason asked, walking over. Danny took a moment to take in his brother-in-law's costumes and couldn’t help the snicker that came from him.
Jason was covered in green paint and fake blood, spirit gum covered his face like rotting skin, and his clothes were ripped and raggedy. Duke was dressed in a bright yellow jumpsuit, a headband covered his head in bright yellow that looked like sun rays. Beside him, Damian was wearing the fanciest pirate costume that Danny had ever seen and he was pretty sure that his sword was real.
“Please don’t let Vi get close to the sword,” Danny said with a sigh before he looked back at Jason. “I’m fine, as soon as you all leave Tim is going to throw up the ghost shield and we’re probably going to watch some movies or something,” he said just as the room covered itself in a thin layer of frost and Danny winced. “My powers are a little on the fritz but hopefully we don’t have a repeat of what happened last year.”
Everyone winced at that and Danny had enough decency to look slightly embarrassed. The year before he and Tim had been having a rather quiet night when Tim had accidentally scared Danny and his ghostly wail was heard around the world. Tim had gone deaf for a good three hours before the ringing stopped and his hearing slowly came back to him.
“I can tell,” Jason said wryly. “We’ll keep the squirt safe for ya and B knows that she’s his responsibility tonight. He and Alfie are already Violet-proofing her room and the playroom,” he said.
“You all are going to be there too, right?” Tim asked hesitantly, watching as Dick threw Violet in the air and she flipped a few times before floating back into his arms. Their daughter was a bit ghostly like Danny, not enough for this time of year to truly incapacitate her the way it did Danny but enough that she had some fun powers in her arsenal. The girl could walk through walls and fly like her father but she didn’t have a ghost form and thank the ancients she didn’t have any of Danny’s other powers it seemed. She was mostly human with just enough ghost in her to make things fun and stressful for her parents.
“We will be,” Damian said seriously with a nod. “Do not worry, Father will not accidentally traumatize her like he did on her birthday.”
Everyone shuddered at the memory.
“Let me get her overnight bag,” Tim said, standing up. He pressed a kiss to Danny’s forehead before he left the room to get Vi’s things for the night.
Soon the brothers and Violet were on their way and Danny found himself curled up on the couch with his husband, a soft smile on his face.
“Think they’re going to be okay?” Danny asked nervously. “This is her first year going with her powers and I don’t know how prepared the guys are for it.”
Tim laughed and wrapped his arm around Danny’s shoulders as he reclined back in the couch. “They’re going to be fine Babe. How much trouble can four vigilantes and a meta kid get into?” He asked before slowly trailing off at the end. “What have we done?”
“They’ve taken her trick or treating every year,” Danny reasoned. “Surely it won’t be worse this year. Besides she only has the intangibility and the flying,” he said carefully. “They wouldn’t lose her.”
“They won’t lose her,” Tim said but Danny could tell just from looking at his husband that he believed the words just as much as Danny did. Tim was quiet for a moment as he contemplated it for a moment. “If I left the ghost shield up would you be fine on your own while I stalk them?”
Danny sighed and looked around the frost that covered their house and let out a breath. “Just soup me and take me with you. That way if something happens I can help you out at least a little bit.”
“Are you sure you want me to soup you?” Tim asked hesitantly, his hand already reaching for the thermos tucked underneath the couch.
Danny let out a huff and nodded his head. “Just don’t drop me again,” he said before Tim leaned forward, gave him a kiss before opening the thermos and sucking Danny into it.
Tim quickly set to work. He first changed from his pajamas to his Red Robin gear and quickly locked up the house before he went off to track his family.
“ It can’t be that bad, could it?” Danny asked through the comms device. The new thermos was upgraded so that if Danny was ever souped in it for whatever reason he was still able to communicate with the Bats. It was primarily made because of Halloween and when Danny lost control of his powers but they had used it other times as well whenever Danny was hurt on patrol and needed to be taken back to the cave or if he had to be hidden away from Amateaur ghost hunters who didn’t know when to quit.
“Knowing those idiots? Definitely,” Tim ground out before he climbed to the top of a building and tracked the movements of his family.
.....
“Violet, honey, don’t forget that you’re supposed to hold our hand the entire time,” Jason reminded as Violet phased her hand from Dick’s grip and tried to run ahead only for Duke to grab her and pull her back. Somehow, they weren’t sure how yet, but his powers made it where Violet’s intangibility didn’t work on her which meant he was on ghost duty for the night.
“But you’re being so slow,” she groaned, stomping her foot.
“We’re being slow because there’s a bunch of people who are out and we don’t want to lose you,” Dick said, looking down at the girl. “Besides, I’m pretty sure your dads gave you very strict rules about when you’re allowed to use your powers. Right?”
Violet grumbled under her breath and attempted to tug her hand away from Duke who only held on tighter.
“Violet, mumbling is unbecoming,” Damian chided. “And if you behave during our trick-or-treat session then I will allow you to play with my sword upon our arrival at the manor.”
Violet perked up at that and looked up at her uncle. “Can I stab Grandpa Bruce with it?” She asked, her blue eyes twinkling with mischief.
“Absolutely,” Jason said at the same time the other Duke and Dick let out a loud no.
Damian hummed. “If you manage to do it without using your powers then yes,” he said.
“Damian!” Dick gasped out. “Tim said no weapons.”
“What Dad doesn’t know won’t hurt him,” Violet said and Jason chuckled in response, he taught his niece so well.
“No, absolutely not,” Dick declared. “You are not stabbing your Grandpa Bruce with a sword. You can stab Jason instead, or a training dummy.”
“I guess,” Violet said with a huff as she leaned into Duke’s side, the man simply chuckled and ruffled her hair with his free hand.
“When did you get to be so stabby Baby Ghost?” Duke asked him curiously. The girl merely shrugged her shoulders in response.
“I dunno, Youngblood, and I like to play pirates a lot,” she said with a small smile, referring to her cousin.
The group of five made it to the next door on the block and Duke led the little girl up to the door as the other three stood back.
“You can come out now Tim,” Jason said lazily. Tim huffed and slipped out of the shadows of the house he had been hiding in.
“You told her she could stab Bruce!” He exclaimed. “You can’t just encourage violence like that! She’s supposed to be acting like an ordinary girl not–”
“You let her play with ghosts,” Dick pointed out. “Not only that but both of her parents and all of her aunts and uncles are vigilantes and she has powers. The only normal person in her family is Jazz and she’s scarier than all of us combined,” he said with a shudder, thinking back on the time the redhead had been the defense attorney on a case that Dick had to be a witness for. She was a force to be reckoned with and Dick was terrified of the woman.
“Danny said that his side of the family doesn’t let Vi play with knives.”
“Remind Danny that his parents are in Blackgate,” Damian said with a huff.
“He resents that,” Tim said, repeating his husband's response.
“Oh my god, is he souped right now?” Jason asked, reaching over and grabbing the thermos from Tim. “How’s it feel to be souped up like a little bitch?” he whispered into the mic attached to the thermos.
“Danny said he has no problem sharing the space with your smell Revenant ass,” Tim said with a snicker just as Duke started back towards them with Violet in tow. He narrowed his eyes at his brothers before snatching Danny away from Jason. “No weapons, no stabbings. I’ve got my eyes on you dumbasses and I will release my ridiculously overpowered husband to torment you all if you lose my baby.”
Dick rolled his eyes. “Calm down Baby Bat. This is our fifth Halloween with Violet, we won’t let anything happen to her,” he said. “Powers or no powers,” he said before he eyed the thermos that Danny was sitting in.
“Don’t even think about souping my child,” Tim hissed before he disappeared into the shadows once more.
The rest of the night blessedly went off without a hitch. Tim and his souped-up husband kept an eye on Tim’s brothers for the rest of the night until he saw the ghost shield go up around Wayne Manor and felt just a little bit better.
He soon found himself back in his own home with Danny curled up next to him as he let out a breath of air. “The new thermos is roomier but man it’s still so uncomfortable,” Danny said with a whine as Tim ran his fingers through his husband’s hair.
“We can go back to the lab and figure it out later,” Tim hummed. “How are you feeling?”
“Sleepy. But also like I could destroy the entire world if I hiccuped,” Danny said with a chuckle before he let out a yawn. Before Tim could respond his cell phone went off.
“It’s Duke,” Tim said before he answered.
“Tim, we have a bit of a problem. Not sure if we need Danny to get her down or if you have any tips or tricks. But Violet is on one of the chandeliers and the only one who can get to her is Dick but she goes intangible every time he gets close to her,” Duke rushed out, his words smashing together.
“Danny would likely destroy the entire manor if he even tried to get her down. She’ll tire herself out eventually just get her when she does,” Tim said with a sigh.
“You got it, have fun you two,” Duke said before hanging up the phone.
“How did we have a daughter who acts just like Dick of all people?” Tim asked as he tossed his phone onto the coffee table.
“I couldn’t tell you,” Danny said with a sigh as he flicked through the movies on their television. “How does Nightmare Before Christmas sound?”
“That’s a Christmas movie,” Tim said, crinkling his nose.
“It’s a Halloween movie too,” Danny huffed out. “It’s both.”
“No, it isn’t. It’s not even about Halloween, it’s literally about Christmas.”
“It’s about Halloween too!” Danny argued before turning the movie on. “I’m right and you’re wrong so we’re watching it so I can prove it to you.”
“I can’t believe you’re making me watch a Christmas movie on Halloween,” Tim complained. Danny just chuckled and leaned up to give his husband a soft kiss.
“I love you,” he murmured.
“I love you too,” Tim said with a small smile as the beginning of the movie started up. Sure their Halloween traditions were a little strange but Tim had to admit, he wouldn’t have them any other way.

Mending a Family 54/54
Prev | Mending a Family Master Post
A family is forgiven, goodbyes are given, and promises are made
Well, here it is, the final chapter
Dick was not jealous. He wasn’t! Just because Danny greeted Lian as his cousin, Roy as Uncle Roy, and Raven as Auntie Raven doesn’t mean Dick was jealous.
Is that the truth? Are those your genuine emotions? Dinah’s voice echoed in Dick’s head.
Okay, maybe he was jealous. But it wasn’t fair! He had his first nephew, and Danny was avoiding him, and when he wasn’t avoiding him, he was glaring at him with glowing green eyes.
Why isn’t it fair? Didn’t you do the same with Mar’i?
Ugh, being self-aware was annoying.
Jason laughed loudly with his whole body at something Roy had said. Even Danny smiled at whatever Roy had said. Dick gritted his teeth. Jason had never laughed with him like that. Well, it’s not as if Dick had given him many opportunities to laugh with Dick when he was younger. Dick regrets not getting closer to Jason when he was younger. Things might have been different if he hadn’t been so angry and jealous. By the time their relationship had started to get better, Jason had died. When he returned, well, there was no relationship to be had.
Dick’s phone beeped again with a notification. He had been receiving messages from his siblings who wanted to know how Jason and their newfound niblings were or from Mar’i wanting to know when she would see her new cousins and uncle.
Dick ignored them. He didn’t know what else to tell them. He had already updated them that Danny and Jason were fine.
Bruce walked up to Dick.
“He seems happy,” Bruce said in a neutral tone. Dick had been around the man long enough to know it was probably eating him inside. Like a typical rich kid, Bruce wasn’t used to sharing.
“Yeah, he does. I’m…happy for him.”
Even to Dick, his tone sounded insincere.
“Do you think he would want us in his life again? I’m glad to see him alive and well, but I want my son to at least speak to me. To us.”
“I don’t know, Bruce, I don’t know.”
“I will grant his wish if he doesn’t want to talk to us again, but it’ll hurt,” Bruce said. Dick stayed silent. He honestly didn’t know what to do. On the one hand, Jason was entitled to his boundaries. On the other, Dick wanted to beg his younger brother to let them back in.
Let him come to you first, Dinah’s voice sounded in his head.
“Did Talia leave already?”
“Yeah, she gave her final goodbyes to Danny, Jazz, and Jason and left.”
“Huh,” Dick was glad. He understood he was both Damian’s and, ugh, Jason’s mother, but he couldn’t stand the woman.
Danny suddenly turned to them and glared with his eerie green eyes. Every time he saw those Lazarus green eyes, Dick felt uneasy. Dick felt the sudden paranoia that Danny could read his thoughts. After all, he didn’t know what powers Danny had.
Danny snarled silently, showing tiny fangs.
“Children hold a lot of sway with their parents,” Dick said, “If Danny wants nothing to do with us, Jason is most likely to follow his son’s wishes.”
Bruce said nothing. Eventually, he left Dick and walked up to Roy and Jason.
Dick watched as Danny’s scowl deepened. The little boy left the group when Bruce started talking with Jason. Roy crossed his arms and glared at Bruce, not hiding it from Bruce.
Danny walked toward Lian and started talking to her. The little girl laughed at whatever Danny said. Dick smiled weakly. It was their fault that Jason had left. After all, they abandoned him first. They had no right to feel saddened.
It didn’t mean he didn’t feel it.
____
Danny didn’t like Bruce or Dick. They had been the cause of his dad’s suffering, Them and the whole so-called Batfamily.
Yes, even Alfred and Barbara, though dad always talked about them fondly.
After all, Alfred could have easily visited dad when he was feeling down, Bruce’s rules be damned. And Barbara’s crumbs of talking to dad occasionally probably caused him to feel more acutely alone. Barbara could’ve easily fought harder for his dad instead of just talking to him occasionally.
Danny sighed. He stared at his daddy, talking to both Dick and Bruce.
His dad always had an air of melancholy surrounding him, no matter how much Danny and Jazz tried to help. There were times when he would be happy, and then out of nowhere, bam, depression would hit.
Danny didn’t feel even a hint of it now. His dad still missed his old family, even though they had hurt him.
Danny wished he could say he didn’t understand, but he did. Because even though his parents had hurt him, a part of him still wanted their love and acceptance, even though it was too late now.
So, why not allow his dad to reconnect with his old family? They seemed to be trying, and dad looked more at peace. Even though Danny hated it, he would give that stupid family a chance.
He glared at Bruce and Dick, but if they hurt his dad in any way, well, he was half-ghost. He smiled chillingly. His smile widened when he saw Bruce tense, and Dick rub the back of his neck uneasily.
They would get their chance, but it would only be one.
____
Jason gave Bruce his phone number. Logically, he knew Bruce had it from his call for help, but this made it more official.
“Call or text me, but for the love of God, don’t be like Tim texting me at two in the morning telling me he figured out who stole the left socks. As interesting as the dog/human hybrid was, I just wanted to sleep.”
Dick flinched.
“Yeah, sorry about that. He was obsessed. He didn’t sleep for a week straight until he caught him. And that’s why you don’t play with genetics, boys and girls.”
“Alfred and I tried,” Bruce tried to defend himself, “God, did we try.”
Jason snorted, “Timmy needs to learn to let it go and sleep, and you need to learn to put your foot down. Besides, it’s Gotham. It’s not the strangest thing I’ve seen.”
After all, they had a bat-themed villain and a bat-themed hero.
Dick looked as if he was about to say something. He looked uncomfortable.
“I know about Mar’i. Roy told me.”
“I’m sorry, Little Wing.”
Jason shrugged, trying not to show his hurt, “I understand. I wasn’t exactly in the best state of mind when I returned.”
“Still,” Dick said and left it at that.
“I missed you, Jason.”
“We all have,” Bruce added, “Do you think you’ll ever find it in you to forgive us? Maybe to visit?”
Jason tackled Bruce in a hug. Both Bruce and Dick were surprised when they heard a chirp leave Jason’s lips.
“Little wing, did you just chirp like a bird,” Dick asked. His grin said everything: he had found blackmail material. He was still an older brother, after all.
“Ghost children chirp at their parents and family,” Danny came up to them, “it’s a privilege to have a ghost chirping at family.”
Danny glared at Dick, daring him to make fun of his father. Jason felt grateful to Danny. He didn’t think he’d be able to take any of Dick’s ribbing at the moment. He still felt too raw.
“Sorry, guys, it won’t happen again.”
“No, Jason, it’s cute! I promise I won’t say anything, but don’t deny something that’s a part of you,” Dick said.
Bruce was silent, but his eyes were loud with questions. Jason appreciated that Bruce had kept all the questions to himself so far. He didn’t know where he would even begin to explain his powers and half-life.
“Thanks for helping me and Danny. I can’t tell you how grateful I am.”
Bruce put his hand on Jason’s shoulder.
“Always, Jay lad, always.”
Jason hugged his dad again.
Things weren’t perfect, but they were better.
____
Bruce didn’t want to leave. Neither did Dick, but they had responsibilities. Gotham had been without Batman for three days, and Blüdhaven without Nightwing. Besides, they both had children they also had to care for.
As much as Bruce wanted to be with Jason and his family for a while longer, it wasn’t in the cards.
Raven was waiting to the side, giving the family a bit of privacy before she teleported them back.
“You’ll come and visit? Alfred really misses you, and everyone else wants to get to know you and your little family.”
“Yeah, Bruce, we’ll visit. I don’t know when, but we will.”
Bruce rubbed Jason’s hair, “Are you going to let it grow back to your regular hair color? You’re not hiding from us anymore.”
“I don’t know. I’ve kind of grown fond of it. Besides, it matches Jazz’s hair color.”
Bruce nodded. He gave Jason one last hug.
“I miss you, son. I’m sorry for everything.”
“Me too,” Jason said, “me too.”
With a heavy heart, Bruce smiled at Jason and turned toward Raven. It was time to go home, but he would do better for his son and all his children this time.
Jason watched as a white light overtook Dick, Bruce, and Raven.
They were gone.
“Good riddance,” Danny said.
“Danny lad,” Jason said in a warning voice.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. You forgave them, and we all are going to play happy family now. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t getting too crowded. I want to spend time with my family after…after what happened.”
Jason hugged his son.
“Don’t worry, son, we’re here now, and nothing will happen to us anymore.”
Jazz walked up with Ellie and stood by Danny and Jason. They smiled at each other, comfortable in the knowledge that, no matter what, they would always have each other.
I want to thank everyone who has been with me until the end. Thank you to those who have been here from the beginning to those who came halfway through or toward the end. I couldn't have done it without your support and encouragement.
Endings are hard, but hopefully, this one leaves you satisfied. I do plan to write one last one-shot of the family visiting Gotham and Wayne Manor, but that's a future project, and then I'll be done with this series.
Once again, thank you!
