Not Coming
“Bruce! They’re not coming!”
Bruce Wayne’s newest adoptive son shouts at him with worrying certainty, especially considering the turn this kidnapping incident has turned into. What, with the falling burning plane all around them.
“Superman can hear-“
“No, Bruce. That’s just some stupid marketing ploy the Justice league uses to deter crime.” Danny sighs bitterly, (tiredly, hopelessly) as his shoulders slump slightly.

For consideration—
Danny is many things. Student, hero, teenager, tired. Teenager and tired are shared, student is what he wants, and hero is what he has to be.
So when he’s fighting Val—Red Huntress, as dubbed by the general populace—and they get interrupted from their highly dangerous not-quite game of hide and seek by the Justice League offering her all of the training and support any hero could ever want… well.
It’s a good thing he’s already hidden, because he has no idea what to feel and ghost faces are significantly more stretchy and allow for frankly horrifying face journeys. He could just be a kid. He wanted to have mentorship. He wanted Valerie to be a great hero. He hopes she’s not getting dragged into it. He’s been given an out, possibly.
Or at the least, as Jazz would put in during the video call later that night, he could take a vacation.
Her reasons were fairly pure. He overworked himself by necessity, and he deserved time and rest and the ability to go for his own hobbies.
Danny’s were very much in the petty revenge territory. Blob ghost populations would be outright swarms in about two weeks, and that’s if the ectopi didn’t start hunting them as prey, sending them into a tizzy. Any bigger threats—well. Red Huntress was the hero, the only hero, as Superman said in his little ‘join us’ speech. Clearly, she’d been handling it so far. She’d be fine. There was even Justice League backing and support for her.
He still hid during ghost attacks. Everyone always thought he was scared of ghosts anyways and the rogue gallery had no qualms about kidnapping or otherwise targeting him as a regular teen.
Things… quickly spiral.
For Red Huntress, that is.
Suddenly, her new ghost alarm system that Batman helped her build is going off constantly. She expected an uptick, but she’s gotten maybe five hours of sleep in about as many days. It was a good thing that one of the support benefits was a paycheck, because if she hadn’t quit Nasty Burger they certainly would have fired her by then. Her grades were slipping, even with her best efforts, and her mentors who were supposed to help weren’t listening to her.
It wasn’t them ‘challenging her beliefs’ and asking her to ‘really consider if ghosts are always your enemy’ that made her fights suddenly harder. It wasn’t some adjustment period to her new training. There was just ghosts, all the time, constantly, and she didn’t even know what to do with all of them. She always just ran them off, and she had assumed they went home. She hadn’t realized the reason Phantom always captured them was because otherwise they just would not leave.
And Phantom. He was one of her rogues, play acting as hero for people he’d just put into danger. Sometimes he did—kind of—help, but it seemed more coincidental. A giant bobcat in the yard keeping the bears away sort of situation. Still dangerous, still unknown, no matter how similar he looked to something or someone friendly.
But. He’d been MIA since their last fight. And she didn’t know why.
Sure, she could guess that maybe he had heard the whole acceptance into the Junior League, or whatever it was called, that had happened. And with his whole ‘hero’ shtick, he’d maybe be a little weird about it. Not emotional, ghosts didn’t have true emotions. No matter what Black Canary was currently researching on the topic, Valerie was sure of it.
Just like she’d been sure that she was actually helping Amity Park.
If she heard one more property damage assessment, she’d strap one of her ecto guns to the lecturer and let them have a crack at it. Ghosts didn’t care about material things that mattered to other people. They might have attachments to certain types of objects or things they considered ‘theirs’, but if that thing was a living human’s… it didn’t matter, it’d be taken or broken just the same.
Sam was, of course, leading a small protest asking for Phantom’s return. She and Danny had at least three fights about it, and it wasn’t pretty.
Paulina had a different approach to the same issue, asking for recognition of her ghost boy.
Tucker was egging both on, mostly to distract Sam from actually bothering Danny, but also because he loved a good cat fight.
Danny was getting so much sleep, and he’s getting caught up in school. Sure, the school is usually at least a little on fire these days, but he actually read the assignment book for Lancer’s class. That hadn’t happened like, ever! And his Doom stats were getting pretty high, since the only grinding he had to do now was against virtual enemies that didn’t try to snap his spine… Technus notwithstanding.
As these things usually happen, Valerie blames Phantom for all of her woes, again. The Fenton Parents, being thoroughly exhausted at this point as well, completely back her.
And Danny has had a lot of time to rest and think on the actions of himself and others.
He’s been declared a menace, again. And he’s kind of tired of people not realizing that if he WANTED to be a villain, he could be. He wanted his town safe, and honestly, the ghost populace explosion was getting annoying. Red Huntress’s last “big fight” had nearly killed someone.
… He wouldn’t be Dan, oh no. He wouldn’t cause damage, he’d prevent those from being hurt, and he would generally look at the Hero Guideline Handbook he had… temporarily borrowed and copied from Val’s backpack. He’d be campy and totally not serious to anyone who didn’t realize he actually was just playing around. And him actually taking on ‘big fish’ persona in Amity Park’s ‘little pond’ should help get rid of at least some of the lower level guys.
It’s not like it’s be hard, honestly. He’d get to make his own hours, at least. And since Valerie saw Fenton as someone to protect, someone that he well knew she broke up with to ‘keep him safe’, she wouldn’t think of him twice as being Phantom. Danny wouldn’t use their friendship against her, but he could easily admit that it was a little scummy to do. But. Well. He’d always fought a bit dirty, and she had literally tried to kill him. Multiple times.
If Red Huntress was going to be a villain-like Hero, then it was simple.
Phantom just had to be a hero-like Villain.
Prompt
The justice league FINALLY investigates Amity, and realizes that they’ve made a grave mistake by letting a burgeoning hero shoulder a large problem without any training or support. They rectify this immediately by offering a position in the JL along with an assortment of mentors and other teen heroes to bond with.
Red Huntress receives this invitation in front of Phantom, while actively trying to hunt him down.
#it’s like 1 am idk if this even made SENSE#but I kinda wanted to bridge a bit between the crack fic vibes and the straight up ANGST#he won’t be Dan. he won’t destroy the timeline.#whether that’s because he has morals or because he knows that if he does he’ll be STOPPED is up to you#will he be campy? will he be serious? will there be a cape?#up to you!#although I argue for cape. like. fuck it right#Sam is. mm. mixed feelings on this#Tucker is going with the flow because welp. he never wanted to be a super villain so like Danny can have this#Paulina’s mildly obsessed with her ghost boy’s dark era and absolutely does not take his supposed threat seriously.#to be fair his rates are great lol#low property damage except maybe against things he actually doesn’t care about. fuck Dalv Co.#no one gets hurt and he actively guides the fights to less populated areas#he protects the children#think redeemed villain is now a hero but it’s backwards and also a fucking seesaw#will he help? will he hinder? will the Justice league loose their minds? probably#Danny buys off Constantine as his first villain act to not fucking rat him out#Constantine now has One Good Summon Circle for a#… extremely OP get of jail free card a la Phantom#he should probably save that for a world ending threat just saying#they LITERALLY made him a villain so Danny went lol bet#Jazz is loosing her mind but is stuck at college#and honestly? still beats some of the stupider things he’s done#Vlad is like. probably scheming. is maybe mad that HE didn’t cause the turncoat and that Danny is objectively Bad At Villainy#he hasn’t even robbed a bank or overshadowed someone to gain all their business assets!! the nerve!!#so yeah lol Phantom’s fights with Plasmius are basically the same but Plasmius is poutier about it

DPXDC prompt. Family? Assemble!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Reporter: Gotham News, and we have a new supervillain on the line. Mr Phantom, what are your demands at the moment? Phantom with lack of sleep and with tears: I..I want a titanium model of a spaceship! And to get a good night’s sleep and to go to the local school…and some fudge and.. Reporter: Oh, my bad. Just one question for clarification, are you by any chance an orphan or are your parents villains? Phantom: I prefer the term mad scientists Reporter: Okay. So, Gotham news! And with me on the line is the new potential child of Wayne or Batman. Want to know how two serial adopters will share a child leading a double life? Stay with us and find out. Now let's check in with Jessie for our weather report. Phantom: Wait, what?
~~~~~
Danny spends the night running from the Red Hood with a bag of fudge, Red Robin with a pot of coffee, Batman with the adoption papers and, for some reason, Brucie Wayne with an idea of internship at a space station. Ha! The Justice League will never let a ghost into orbit. Not that Wayne can blackmail superheroes or smth. Danny: Fuck you all! I’m done with vigilante activity, I’m not your competitor! What do you want from me? And I’m done with crazy billionaires too. I swear, I’d rather be adopted by a local mob boss just to piss you off! ~Later~ Danny *sees peering out of the corner Matches Malone*: Are you kidding me?! Robbie *jumps off the roof and lands right behind Danny*: Stop running, lil brother, No one’s left the family yet. Minnie: What about Neal? Robbie *shakes a knife with a bow on the handle negatively*: He’s on sabbatical, that doesn’t count. Anyway, it’s a gift for you, cub. Danny: Um, thank you, but my lab scalpels are definitely sterile, and your blade was in who knows who before you brought it here. Robbie: It’s brand-new! And Archie decorated it with a ghost on the handle. Look! It's cute! With a smile and… Dick: Hands up! You’re under arrest for trying to steal our new member! Minnie: Why is he yours, damn cop? Selina: Boys, don’t fight. He’s mine. Schrodinger’s cat is still a kitten. Killer Croc: No way, my niece is staying with me. Danny: Uncle Waylon? Long time no see. Ra's: My grandson needs steady access to ectoplasm. Danyal, come with me. Danny: Over my dead body! Oh shiii…I mean no. Anyway, don’t you think the alley’s getting a little crowded?
~~~~
Killer Croc: Is he still mad at me? RR: Danny doesn’t talk to uncles who tried to eat his beloved brother Red Robin. Killer Croc: He wasn’t even your brother then. What do you want? An apology from me? RR: That would be nice.
~~~~
Danny: I didn’t think the GIW agents would really fear the reputation of Gotham and not follow me. What a relief! Jason *quickly throws the knife into the sink*: Wow, you got lucky. Alfred: Master Jones, why don’t you eat your steak? I thought last week you were complaining to Batman that 'cause of him you got not many prey. Croc *pulls a piece of white robe from the teeth*: Well, now there is a lot of it. Bruce *gives Jason and Croc the side-eye*.
~~~~
Ra's: You do realize that Malone, Wayne and Batman are the same person, right? Boy, you were born into a family of geniuses, don’t disappoint Grandpa. Danny: Triple pocket money, triple gifts for the holidays, the opportunity to complain about the same family member three times. No, Grandpa, I definitely don’t understand. Ra's: Smart little weasel.
~~~~
Selina: Okay. Purely theoretical. Do you like to steal? Danny: I wouldn’t say that. But somehow I stole the sword from the fright knight. And also stole few jewels but then I was under the mind control. I returned them. Well, the crown and ring of the king of the ghost zone I also took without permission. Oh, and the answers to the test once. And I’m really sorry about the last one. Neal: I feel the story behind it but I prefer to know nothing about it.
Yall don’t understand how obsessed I am with Danny messing with the Justice League. Like just pranking them mad wild. Or “haunting” them.
Maybe it starts as a mistake. Someone was getting close to him and he just vanished. Maybe he was walking around one of their cities cause he wanted to “see how a real hero does it” but tried to stay out of the way.
Hes following Superman and doesn’t realise hes been had. Superman keeps seeing this odd child on the edge of his vision. It’s only weird because of how quickly he is traveling. He should be followed like this. So he tests it out and flys off to somewhere far off, but secluded. Edge of some farm land would work. Trying to not give it away he doesn’t make a show of looking for the boy. He then spots him. His eyes slightly glowing as he stands in the edge of the woods. Clark focused on the boy and hears slight breaths but nothing else. Which he should have realised sooner was wrong.
He returned to the team to report this odd being following him. To also warn everyone else to be on look out just incase.
Weirdly enough it was the Flash who noticed him next. Even weirder was that he could never get close. Even with his speed which was alarming.
Cyborg started seeing the kid too. He tried using cameras to get a better look at him but nothing ever showed up. Always missing was the boy from the video. Sometimes the whole video would get distort.
Wonder Woman probably got the closest as she used a fight to get “thrown” in his direction. She got close enough to see worry about her. He seemed so concerned and like he was going to step in until he met her gaze. A whole new kind of fear crossed his features. Then he was gone.
Everyone of the main team (and even some not) reporting in of spotting the kid except for Batman. And he looked. He tried everything to see if he was being followed like the rest but nothing. He read their reports on their encounters and tried to emulate it but never saw the boy. Maybe it was all a big prank being pulled on him? He couldn’t rule it out. Still he kept up constant watch.
Then one night he was out and got into a fight. Distracted by looking for the kid he got messy. Or maybe the criminals got desperate but he didn’t notice the rocket launcher being targeted on him in time and it fired. Only then did he notice it. No time to fully get out of the way he braced for the worst. When all of a sudden a body slammed into him shoving him out of the way of the blast. They rolled onto the ground. Bruce quickly recovered and looked for his saviour. On the ground, blown slightly to his left by the explosion was a black haired teen in a white t-shirt. Before he could move the boy groaned and looked right at Bruce. The haunting blue eyes meeting his even with the mask in the way the boy knew just where to look. He was about to speak when the boys eyes went wide with fear and then nothing. The boy just vanished into this air. Bruce didn’t have much time to be stunned by this as the thugs before started to cheer, thinking they had finished off the Bat. So he went to make quick work of them before any could get away. Well now he knows hes being followed too
Danny just freaking out about Batman seeing his face. Turns out he never followed Batman unless fully invisible. All he wanted was to see how “real” heros did it. And it had been helping him with his fighting. To see how the pros are. He was always worried the “worlds greatest detective” would figure him out though so he stayed hidden. Also maybe hes a bit of a fan. I made Wonder Woman get the closest cause shes his fav probably.
You Stay Away From Her (part 11)
Previous | Masterpost | Next
It was decided that the Justice League’s official channel would work on the governmental side of the GIW, laws, and PR, leaving it to the less official channels like the younger group, and Hood and Hyena to raid the bases. It wouldn’t be the best look but they couldn’t leave them any longer knowing there might be other sentient beings suffering in there. As long as the JL’s core members tacitly condemned their actions and the teams involved were sneaky it shouldn’t hinder the repeal efforts too much. Besides, constantly having to repair damaged infrastructure and replace dead staff would make keeping the GIW running very expensive.
Danny felt much better by the end of the talk. The JL was taking this much more seriously then he had feared, and they hadn’t once brought up that he might technically be a villain since his panic attack. He felt better but he was still exhausted, and he leaned against Jason’s shoulder, taking strength from his partner as the meeting wound down. Things seemed settled and he was looking forward to going home, hopefully getting some junk food and candy, and maybe some alcohol because he needed a Drink.
“Alright, with that settled there is one more thing I’d like to discuss before we adjourn the meeting,” Batman said, leaning his elbows on the table and steepling his fingers.
Danny bit back a groan. What more could Bruce possibly want to talk about? Danny wanted to go hooome.
“I am under the impression that Phantasm is in need of a guardian-”
“No I’m not!” Phantasm interrupted Batman, glaring at him fiercely.
“She’s not, not really,” Hyena chuckled, shaking his head and resting a hand on her shoulder. “She’s been on her own since just a few months after her creation.”
“And it’s not like Vlad was a good guardian before that,” Ellie added. Danny nodded.
“But needing one or not, having one might be good for you.” Danny told her, squeezing her shoulder gently. “After everything you’ve been through, having a good guardian to help take care of you while you work through it?” She hesitated, but then she nodded, Danny was grateful for her trust.
“I would be willing too-” Batman started before Hyena interrupted him.
“No! Not you, and not Superman!” Hyena insisted, pointing an accusing finger at their end of the table.
“It’s not up to you-” Superman started this time, sounding offended.
“He’s my template! My only family, I trust him and I’m not going with anyone he doesn’t like,” Ellie growled at the two of them.
Reminded of how much he loved her, Danny gave her a one armed hug. He'd forgotten how ride or die she could be. “If they’d be willing, Martian Manhunter or Wonder Woman would be best. You both have powers, and experiences in common with her. But I don’t trust you with a clone,” He said, glaring at Superman. “I speak Kryptonian, I know what Kon-El means. You’re a piece of shit!” At least he had the decency to look chagrined. “And you!” Hyena pointed at Batman. “I know how you fuck up your kids. I’m dating one of your fucked up kids! You stay the hell away from her.”
Danny saw a flicker of movement out of the corner of his eye. Nightwing had rested a hand on Jason’s arm and Robin and Superboy were behind them now, Tim supporting Jason and Danny, Kon supporting him and Ellie. It took Danny a moment to realize how heavy the silence had suddenly become and process what he had just said. He looked at Jason with regret and horror, seeing Jason shake his head subtly and grab Danny’s hand. At least he wasn’t mad.
“What do you mean you're dating one of Batman’s sons?” Wonder Woman asked, soft and dangerous.
“Oh, he didn’t tell you?” Jason was either genuinely startled or doing a good job faking it. Then he scoffed and shook his head. “What am I talking about, of course he didn’t. If he didn’t tell Nightwing I was back he wasn’t going to tell any of you.
“Yes, I was the second Robin. About six months after Joker killed me some sort of reality altering event resurrected me and I woke up in my coffin. I dug myself out, calling for my father,” Jason said, glaring across the table at Batman from behind his mask. “But because he buried me on the other side of Gotham instead of with our family I never made it home. The league of Assassins found me first.
“It took me years to make it back, but because bty then I was already a killer, and my own person instead of an obedient soldier, he wants nothing to do with me,” Red Hood scoffed with a dismissive motion.
“Don’t misconstrue the facts. You returned as a crime lord! You took over the drug trade in Gotham and had a body count in the dozens before you revealed to me who you were. Which you did by demanding I let you kill the Joker,” Batman said, and yikes this meeting was now a family fight.
“Ya? And how did you respond to that B? Did you respond well OR! Did you slit your own sons throat to save a fucked up clown?” Nightwing demanded of their father. B just barely fidgeted under their stare.
“Besides I’m making Crime Alley a better place in a way you never even tried to. Even if you love Gotham more than any of us you’d basically given up on Crime Alley because of how deep the roots of organized crime go there, and don't you try to claim otherwise! But I’m an Ally kid, was before you pulled me out of there, will be till I die. So I’m making it safer in the way that works for them! Setting up safe injection sites and rehabs, making it against the rules to sell to, or use kids, setting up safe houses for the working girls. I’m making it a safer place for the people who have always lived there. Not trying to make it the sort of place people will set up fancy coffee shops.”
“It’s against the law. You are not above the law,” Batman hissed at him.
Jason clearly telegraphed rolling his eyes at B. “Then stop being a vigilante, because what you’re doing is against the law too.”
“We’ve gotten off topic again,” Martian Manhunter butted in again, giving Batman a warning look. “I will take on the role of mentoring Phantasm. It’s been a while since I took a young hero under my wing. It will be refreshing to do it again.”
“Thank you,” Hyena said genuinely, smiling at Martian Manhunter from behind his mask.
“Ya I bet you like that,” Ellie said, lightening the mood with her teasing tone. “MM has been your favourite hero since you were a kid, and now you have an excuse to talk to him more.”
Hyena blushed and hissed at her only for her to laugh in his face. If they weren’t in public he would have tackled her and started play-fighting. As it was he resigned himself to letting her get away with embarrassing him for now.
Manhunter chuckled gently and give Danny a very small smile. “I’m flattered to have been your favourite hero. It is a rarer honour for me then some of the others.”
“Ya…” Danny breathed, a little starstruck before he shook himself out of it and stood up. “Well, if that’s all I think Hood and I are ready to go home,” He said, giving Jason a slightly pleading look. He nodded and stood up as well, wrapping an arm around Danny’s waist.
“That was a good meeting. Remember, if you need help with anything from the Realms, call us. Or any apocalyptic threats I guess, call us,” He reminded before ushering Danny out. The Teen Titans and the present members of the Bat-family sort of formed ranks around Jason, Danny, and Ellie and escorted them out of the room.
The adults were quiet as they left, but as soon as the door closed behind them Danny heard a cacophony of voices, and had to duck his head to hide a grin. It seemed like what Jason had said had managed to start a fight, good, B deserved it!
Danny snuggled against Jason’s side as Tim put in coordinates and verification in the Zeta-tube to get Jason and Danny back to the Bat Cave. Before they left Danny turned and hugged Ellie tightly again. “Go back with the Teen Titans okay? And come visit me.”
“You have to come visit me too!” Ellie insisted, his voice muffled as she pressed her face into Danny’s chest.
Danny glanced a little nervously at the assembled members of Teen Titans, “Starlight I’m not sure that they’d want me to-”
“No, it’s alright. Unless anyone objects?” Tim asked, glancing over at his team, Cassie shrugged, Bart gave him a thumbs up and a grin, and Kon nodded. “You invited me into your home, you’re welcome in mine. Especially since it’ll be hers now too. Come whenever you want,” Tim promised. “Just give us a heads up first.”
“Thank you. In that case, yes I will visit you. I promise,” He swore to her. She sniffled and nodded, pulling away from him and wiping her eyes.
“Good, I’ll hold you to it.” She grumbled at him.
Danny bit back a laugh and nodded before finally letting Nightwing and Hood guide him into the portal. It was less scary the second time at least, even though Danny was completely exhausted.
“I’m going to take him home,” Jason told Dick as Danny leaned more heavily against him. Now that they were alone he was done holding it together.
“Of course. Is there anything I can do?” Dick asked worriedly. Danny closed his eyes tightly and resisted the urge to cover his ears too.
“No. You can order takeout to our place if you want to, but right now he just needs space. We both do,” Jason told Dick before gently pushing Danny over to his bike and on. Danny clung to Jason, hiding against his back as he drove them home, weaving in and out of traffic and pulled up to the curb, practically carrying Danny back inside.
“I’m so sorry,” Danny muttered, his arms wrapped tightly around Jason’s shoulders, his face pressed against Jason’s chest. “I shouldn’t have brought up B adopting you, I shouldn’t have surprised you with the powerpoint, I’m sorry I had a panic attack there. I’m sorry, I’m sorry-”
“Shhh, shh shh, it’s okay Danny, it’s okay Love. It was actually kind of fun getting to throw B under the bus like that. It’s not your fault for having a panic attack either. But yes, you should have warned me about the power-point. What do you want to do about it?” Jason asked softly, not because he was actually upset, but because the quickest way to snap Danny out of a self hating spiral like this was to ‘punish him for it’, and then talk about it after.
“Whatever you want, whatever will make it right,” Danny mumbled again, he sounded distracted and vague. Jason knew that tone of voice, Danny was having another panic attack, just a dissociative one this time.
“Danny, none of that! You have to tell me,” Jason told him firmly.
“Take me to bed, be rough with me,” Danny mumbled.
“Only if you use the safe word,” Jason told Danny, even though he was already carrying Danny towards the bedroom.
“I will if I need to,” Danny promised, and Jason sighed. He knew that meant Danny wouldn’t use it, but all he could do was insist Danny could and should. Trying to force Danny to would be counterproductive.
---------
The meeting had taken hours for Batman to get back under control as the rest of the Justice league went back and forth between berating him for the way he’d treated Jason and offering him parenting advice. He didn’t want any of it! They hadn’t read Jason’s file, they didn’t know just how high of a body count he had now, just how brutal he could be now. He didn’t want any of their advice, or any of their ridicule, it was ridiculous!
Constantine had tried to sneak out but Batman pinned him to his seat with a look, muttering to him that he needed to stay, Bruce wanted to talk to him alone after the meeting. Finally he managed to regain control enough to end the meeting, ‘at least till tempers had cooled and they could revisit this problem.’ He was planning to avoid that follow up meeting as long as humanly possible.
He convinced everyone else to leave and grabbed Constantine by the scruff when he tried to leave again too. Bruce had seen the look of realization on Constantine’s face while he was watching Danny before he could wipe it away. He had controlled it quickly, but not so quickly that Batman hadn’t noticed it.
“You know what he is now don’t you?” Batman growled at Constantine once they were alone.
“What’re you talkin about?” Constantine deflected.
Batman was not impressed.
“Hyena. What is he?” Batman demanded, glaring at the magician.
Constantine hesitated, glancing around them and biting his lip, as if he was afraid Hyena might pop out from the shadows again. “I think so, but it’s weird and… Well, he’s right that if he had told me I wouldn’t have believed him.”
“Fine. Tell me,” Batman demanded again, he was getting impatient.
“I think he’s a-” And then he made a series of sounds that made no sense to Batman. “It’s a bit clumsy to translate into English. Halfa, or ‘the perfect balance’, something like that. They’re… well they’re a fucking myth is what they are! The legend is that they were an immortal race of beings who were completely alive, and completely dead. Perfectly balanced between the two, incredibly powerful and almost indestructible. There were only ever a couple hundred because they had to be made not born and the way they’re made is very rare. But they were the keepers of the balance, ambassadors between worlds.
“Everyone respected them. But that was before the king went mad, and there was this prophecy was discovered, that the True King of the Infinite Realms would be a halfa or somethin. He killed the entire race, complete genocide and no one’s heard anything from a halfa in… I genuinely don’t know, thousands of years probably,” Constantine shrugged again. “I’d heard about them. Ancient beings sometimes lament their loss, that things were better when they were around to keep the balance, but I thought it was just Boomer talk! Back in my day Bullshit! I didn’t think they were TRUE!” Constantine sounded almost hysterical.
“If they’re keepers of the balance what’s one doing in Crime Alley serving Red Hood?” Batman said skeptically.
“Fuck if I know mate!” Constantine said. “He said he was fully human not that long ago so I’m guessing he’s a new halfa. Which… I guess it makes sense, just because all the previous were gone, the way they’re made can technically be naturally occurring. But he probably won’t have any idea about that cultural heritage, there’s no one left to teach him.
“With what the GIW did, and he mentioned his haunt being taken, and no one to fall back on, he was a lost spirit. He probably would have latched on to anyone who gave him kindness and purpose,” Constantine explained to Batman with exaggerated patience. “It seems to have worked out pretty well for them, if not for you.
“And Bats, I know you’re not thrilled about this, but think about it. What if Hyena had latched on to someone else? Even a normal person given access to the sort of power Hyena offers, what would most people do with it? Or what if he had latched onto someone like Penguin, anyone without a good heart deep down. It could have gone a hell of a lot worse! And as it is, as long as you don’t piss them off too badly we have a powerful new alley and a counter to a type of threat the League wasn’t well set up to deal with.
“Maybe try untwisting those panties of yours about him dating your son,” Constantine accused, rolling his eyes. This time when he stormed out Batman didn’t stop him. He wasn’t sure how helpful the information Constantine had given him was, but he knew he’d gotten everything he was going to get out of the magician.
He had his own research to do.
Danny Fenton assistant to the stars (dp x dc fanfic prompt)
After leaving Amity with little to nothing to his name and refusing any help from Vlad, Danny knows he needs a job, a home, and maybe some health insurance that would be really cool. So Danny applies to as many places as he can, barely looking at the job listing, just putting out as many resumes as possible. And just before he gives up entirely, he gets a callback! Who cares if it's from some shady place called Lex Corp? At this point, a job is a job; all he has to do is work as some weird rich guy's assistant. Great, he can do this; no one is worse than Vlad, and hey, the chances of another billionaire being a supervillain are like super low……. Right?
So Lex has a problem, and that problem is PR; with all the trouble with superman and the justice league, his public perception has been in the toilet lately, and well, he needs to do something before his stock prices fall even more. After looking at different ways to endear himself to the public, he looks to his neighbors across the bay in Gotham. Bruce when from the front page of every trashy tabloid to the face of parenting with his numerous adoptions. And well, he doesn't necessarily want to adopt a whole child but an intern that could work. So he puts a listing up looking for high school to college-age individuals who want experience in business management. Most of what he gets back is worthless until he gets a resume from one  Daniel 'Danny' Fenton. Not only is he the son of two mad scientists, he had an early entry into the junior NASA program, but he's also the godson of one of his supervillain colleagues, Vlad Plasmius. So if he does hire him, he wouldn't have to hide any of his supervillain activities the lad may even be able to contribute to them.
However, in the background, Clack has been monitoring Luther's activity, and once he sees the innocent young man that he has coned into letting him parade around, he becomes concerned. And well, the daily planet has been looking for some new interns. Maybe he can convince the kid to work there instead. It would be for the best anyway, and it has nothing to do with the kid's incredibly slow heartbeat or may or may not have lifted some concrete off of someone during one of superman's battles. Ok, maybe it has something to do with the fact might be another surviving Krypton who was being taken advantage of by Luther. Or he might be a clone, but who knows? Either way, he's going to try to help the kid if only he would stop running away from him.
Cain and Abel Wept 16/?
Prev | Next
Gasp, two chapters in less than 24 hours! Wow, don't get used to that lol
Bruce liked to pride himself on his self-control.
Right now, his self-control was seconds away from snapping. (Talia seemed to have that effect on him.)
“What are you doing here, Talia,” he asked as he led her away from his children. He didn’t want the woman anywhere near Jason, Danny, or Damian. (His three children that had a history with her and the League.)
“What does it look like, beloved? I’m here to make sure my children are safe. You didn’t notice that these cretins were in your city. What if they attacked Danny? Or one of our other two boys?”
Bruce frowned before what Talia said hit him, “Jason isn’t your son,” he growled.
“Really? Last I checked, I nursed him back to health and gave him back his mind. I taught him and gave him what he needed and then some.”
“You mean you kept him away from his family, brainwashed him, and used him as your weapon while turning him into a killer,” Bruce countered, “Just like you did Damian like you did Danny.  Make no mistake, Talia, I will do everything in my power to keep you away from my children.”
Talia sneered before composing herself, “I’m not here to fight, Bruce. I want to make sure my children are safe. Under these so-called laws, all our children would be considered ecto-entities, and they’re here. What are you doing to keep them safe?”
“Keeping Danny off your property isn’t keeping him safe. Jason is still doing patrols, and Damian left the manor with little protection. So, Bruce, why shouldn’t I take our children from this forsaken country and put them somewhere safe?”
“They won’t go with, and you know that. Do you think I don’t want to keep my children safe? Don’t you think I want to wrap them in bubble wrap and keep them in the manor? I do, but I don’t want to alienate them, either.”
“Grow up, Bruce. Being a parent means making decisions that make your children mad at you. They’ll get over it.”
“The way Damian has gotten over it? Or Danny? Jason? I don’t claim to be perfect, but at least I haven’t turned my children against me permanently, Talia. Last I checked, none of the boys want to talk to you, let alone love you.”
Everyone turned to look at the sound of the slap Talia gave Bruce.
“I have done everything in my power to keep my children safe; I regret many things, Bruce, but do not take that away from me. Keep our children safe, or I will.”
Bruce watched as Talia left with her assassins.
“Bruce, what did Talia say,” Jason asked as he approached him.
“Hm,” he said before turning to the Fentons, “I need to talk to Danny and the Fentons.”
____
Danny didn’t like his choices, but he wanted to keep his family safe. It was either moving to the manor until his parents could meet with the UN in a few days or moving to another country and letting the Justice League take care of the GIW.
“Dann-o, whatever you want, we’ll follow. As long as we’re together, it doesn’t matter. Right now, we have to think about the bigger picture, not just us.”
Danny bit his bottom lip. At this point, it wasn’t about being selfish; it was about the pros and cons.
Cons if they stayed: his family would be in danger, he would have to stay with the Waynes, and Danny’s life would be in danger.
Pros: Danny could control the narrative of the Anti-Ecto Act laws, and Danny would be in familiar territory. Danny would be able to protect any ghost that accidentally got in the clutches of the GIW…and he could stay closer to Damian.
Ultimately, the pros outweighed the cons.
“It’d be better if I stay here, even if it means moving to Wayne Manor, but only if it’s okay with you guys. And not because you think it’s what I want; you have to be fine with this. Also,” Danny took a deep breath, “I need to be there during the UN meeting. At this point, it would be better if the King of the Infinite Realms were there to assure the people of Earth that there would come no harm from the inhabitants of the realms.”
His parents looked at each other.
“Danny, we are so proud of the young man you have become. If you think this is the best course of action, then we will follow you,” his mom said.
“Yeah, Dann-o, we don’t want you there in the UN meeting; it’d be dangerous, but if you think this is what you have to do, we’ll be there to back you up.”
Danny smiled; he was glad he had his family behind him.
____
Wayne Manor is huge, was Danny’s first thought.
My family will be safe here, was his second.
His league training and living with the Fentons had taught Danny to see security measures that would otherwise be well hidden. Wayne Manor had top-notch security. Danny was already thinking of ways to make it better. He wondered if he could convince Bruce to add ghost shields. One could never be too careful, even if Danny were the Ghost King…
Danny and his family left the GAV just in time to see Jason stalk out of the Batmobile, looking angry.
“Is everything okay,” Danny asked Damian once he got close to his brother.
“Tt, yes. Todd is being difficult. Father told him that until we can chase out the GIW, it would be better if he were to stay at the Manor and not do patrols. He didn’t take it well.”
“Huh,” Danny said. He could see why Bruce did it, but he also knew how annoying it must be to be essentially grounded as a grown adult.
“He told me the same thing.”
“And you just accepted without complaint,” Danny asked incredulously.
Damian shrugged, “Father knows what he is doing. I trust him to know what’s best for me.”
Danny’s incredulity grew until he thought of something.
“This lax and accommodating attitude has nothing to do with the fact that I’ll be here at the manor, does it?”
Damian blushed deeply and said, “Aw, Danny, this is Pennyworth.”
“Nice to meet you, Master Danny. Miss Jazz, Mr., and Mrs. Fenton. My name is Alfred Pennyworth. I am the butler of the Wayne Estate.”
Before them stood a balding British gentleman wearing a suit. There were ghosts following him around. Huh, this man had killed many people before. Best not to mess with him, considering he had raised the Batman…
“Hello, Alfie,” Jack said boisterously, “Please, call me Jack!”
“Hello, call me Maddie, please,” his mom said.
“Uh, hello. Can you drop the miss, please,” Jazz asked.
“Hmm, unfortunately, I cannot do something so uncouth. You are Master Bruce’s guests and son; what kind of butler would I be if I disrespected you by calling you without your proper titles?”
Even as he said that Danny got the distinct feeling that Alfred Pennyworth was making fun of them.
Alfred and Damian took them to the west wing, where they would stay. Thankfully, it wasn’t with the rest of the family. (That would’ve been too soon, too fast.)
Danny gave Damian permission to stay while Danny packed out his little bit of belongings. Eventually, Dami had to leave to feed his animals, including a cow.
“I saved her from a slaughterhouse,” he told Danny, proud, “I’ve been a vegetarian ever since.”
“That’s awesome, Dami. You would get along with my friend, Sam. She’s a vegetarian, too, and a proud animal activist. She’s one of the reasons I found out about one of the last purple-back gorillas being female.”
“Wait, that was you? I always wondered how zookeepers could be so incompetent that they missed that?”
“Right, it’s literally their job to know what the gender of the animals under their care is!”
Danny had decided to take a nap while he waited for dinner. He knew his family was doing the same thing.
(Fighting took a lot out of them.)
Not even an hour later, his parents and Bruce entered his room. Bruce looked frantic.
“Jason is missing.”
Danny felt his stomach drop.
Not proud of the second half, but I needed to leave you at that cliffhanger mwahahahaha. See you Thursday
The Big Problem in Dutch Football
_______________________________________
Thank you Tifo. You reminded me of a horrible incident that happened to me the other day. (Trigger Warning: it's long)
Last Week, this one customer ranted to me how he's moving to the Amsterdam from Boston. I'm trying to be happy for him, saying "Oh the Dutch have a great soccer league!" and then he went ballistic on me. I get he's upset, I'm reticent around college sports myself ever since my guidance counselor said no on my desire to go to a four year; but nobody wants to see a wrinkly douchebag berate a cashier in public for talking about sports. (I'm happy my co-workers find college sports entertaining, they are emotionally stronger than I am who demands academic loyalty). Like I get we Boston sports fans are nuts compared to the rest of the US since I am one of those meat headed Boston sports lovers who goes to duck boat championship parades; but get a grip, this isn't Danny Phantom. We didn't resort to throwing flares yet. We don't wear that antisocial hooligan badge with pride.
I look back on this, and I deduced he was on drugs or something since he was wrinkly, pallid, and the pupils of his blue eyes were dilated. He's like 170cm and has a shitty accent and will go ballistic if he sees a sports jersey that says "Boston." He has white hair so you can't confuse him for your run of the mill leftist or your average Andrew Tate fan. He doesn't even deserve to be called an incel or Karen. Even social justice warriors love sports enough to protest over sport washing and major sports bodies holding major tournaments in places with oppressive regimes like a lot of Ultras are already doing. Don't get me wrong, I might not be surprised that the 2026 Men's World Cup could be protested here but then again if people don't want to see games in the US they can go to Canada or Mexico. But nobody wants to see that wrinkly bastard go on a nerd rant over people who like to seeing muscle men play kick balls with mad skills.
 He was one of those stupid people that thinks Europe doesn't have sports culture. Which is false. I wish I could tell him clearly that there are hooligans in Western Europe that are more frenzied than your average American fan but no he makes it hard for me to speak properly like I am getting lectured. I couldn't defend myself. We just got a new Department Manager and I don't think she's ready to deal with our town's level of Karen-hood yet because I don't want to see her sad. My last Manager left because of this. I could not finish my shift on time as I broke down started crying for hours, and it involved several meetings with the bosses chastising me for the remainder of the week after he fucked off. Even threatening to discuss this with my mother. This was the third March that involves me having me cry loudly at work and almost getting fired over something stupid. It’s pointless to defend yourself when you work retail. Like I don't give a damn what you like and what you hate about my special interests. If your bullshit rant sessions, scream fests, and arguments threaten my sense of security, school records, and puts my career in jeopardy, I will not be happy with you in the near future. I don't like being yelled at.
AND YOU PROVED ME RIGHT.  Even the Red Sox and Yankees rivalry is less frenzied than whatever the hell Feyenoord or Ajax fans are doing. Heck Honduras and El Salvador started to war with each other in the 80s because of the events unfolding during a soccer/football match. I even watch ultras burn their own tifos or banners with flares over YouTube for fun. To them, Americans act way too detached and wholesome for their liking and protests made by fans are usually rare.
Selling your souls comes with consequences.
John never really cared. Easy enough to find loopholes and screw the other party. Easy to get away with it, for the most part. Every now and then it bites him in the arse.
This is one of those bloody times.
Of course he felt the pull. Someone in possession of a soul fragment was in danger. One the cusp of dying.
Bollocks.
He would only be able to ignore it for so long. Bloody hell why did it happen in the middle of. Meeting. This is why he hated these things.
He’d have to summon the entity.
Ain’t the first time. He’d already found a loophole. Summon the thing and send it right to its home realm. Ain’t his problem then.
Following the pull.
The bloody ghost king.
The one who had been sealed away.
Who released him and what in bloody name could do that much damage to pariah dark.
Summon the mad tyrant and shoot him back to the infinite realm. Get him out of here as soon as possible. That thing would ravage this world.
John with the help of several JLD members sets up a summoning circle. One equipped to contain, re send and hide the signature of said being. He doesn’t want whatever can hurt the ghost king finding their way to the watch tower.
Because yet again. He was in a bloody meeting. Now all the oh so helpful non magical hero’s are on standby. As if they could touch a ghost.
As long as they didn’t touch the circle. Whatever.
Now as he activated it, the circle blowing brighter and green.
There was no bloody way.
That was a human. One absolutely saturated in ectoplasm. But still alive. How did a bloody human beat pariah dark.
Who the f was cutting the kid open?
This was bad.
The minute the kid set his eyes on Superman. Kid was cussing up a storm, just like he was. About how they bloody stay away from him.
Zatanna had already broke the circle. She wasn’t sending the kid back to the realm.
Superman was approaching the bleeding out king while the king? Was shouting at him. Batman calling for medical.
It was a mess and no one was happy.
He didn’t know if it was a blessing or not when the kid passed out. Meant the kid for patched up.
No one mentioned how the kid was muttering about how he was Danny. Begging for his mom to stop while knocked out receiving treatment for his wounds.
He needed a drink.
**
Last thing Danny could remember was talking to his parents. Then the pain.
Wait.
They experimented on him. Cut him open.
Where was he?!?
A quick check, cuffs preventing his powers still on but no straps. We’re his wounds treated? Who stitched him up?
He was in a room. A view of space??
Superman.
Oh no.
No no no.
He saw Superman
A member of the justice league. Did his parents hand him off to the league? We’re they working for the Giw?
How did he get here? What was going on?
Superman was opening the door. His hands held up.
Superman: we mean you no harm. We want to help.
Danny: bill shit. You’ll just turn me over back to my parents or the guys in white.
Superman: we won’t
Danny wasn’t listening just screaming at the man to go away. If that was true the cuffs wouldn’t be on him. They were clearly lying. Playing with the un-sentient thing before them.
It looked as if Superman was about to say something. Then stopped himself. Only leaving the room and Danny alone.
DPXDC Prompt #5
Danny finally told his parents about his ghost half and they didn’t take it well… he found himself strapped to a table as they did horrific experiments on him. He couldn’t escape to the zone when he gets out no if the observants or his council found what humans did to their king it wouldn’t end well.
His ex mother stood over him as he struggled and begged, didn’t they love him? I guess they loved their work more. Maddie finally uncovered his core and Danny knew he was screwed… until he felt a pull, the pull of a summoning, well anywheres better than here he’d just have to hope for the best
He finds himself on the floor of the watchtower… shit, the universe really did hate him didn’t it?
John Constantine’s soul is partially owned by the Ghost King so when he felt one of his ‘masters’ in trouble he had no other choice but to summon him, he feared whatever hurt the King knowing how all powerful he was but he wasn’t expecting the kid bleeding out from what looked like a fucking vivisection being preformed on him…
no one’s happy…
Ghosts in Gotham
Tumblr media
Danny Phantom / DC Comics
Dedicated To: @psychovigilantewrites
Description: The Batfamily has been through their fair share of the supernatural. That’s why they originally weren’t worried whenever ghosts started showing up in Gotham City. Until one day, something happens; Batman is captured and taken into the Ghost Zone. With no way to go in there themselves, with no way to fight the ghosts inside, the bats decide to call the person who can; Danny Phantom. Together, Danny takes Tim Drake, Stephanie Brown and Damian Wayne into the Ghost Zone before the Batman is lost forever.
Word Count: 3523
Ch 1 Ch 2 Masterlist
Chapter 3:
_
Danny could deal with a lot.
He'd dealt with dying. He'd dealt with becoming a ghost. He'd dealt with ghosts trying to kill him. He'd dealt with finding out that his dad's best friend wasn't only a halfa like him, but that he wanted to get with his mom. He'd dealt with ghost prison. He'd dealt with finding out he'd been cloned. He'd dealt with finding a future in which everyone he loved was dead and he himself was evil. He'd even dealt with girls.
He thought he could deal with anything.
But being stuck a small space with Damian Wayne and Tim Drake?
He wasn't so sure he could deal with that.
"You incompetent creature, why on earth are you listening to a C-average oaf instead of me?"
"Because the 'oaf' has been here before. We haven't."
"I possessed more intelligence than you and Fenton combined whenever I was four years old, and I have memorized the Infi-map. I am completely capable of commanding this voyage."
Danny's eye twitched at the arguing. It was worse than he and Jasmine. "Does it ever end?" he asked Stephanie through gritted teeth. The blonde sighed.
"Damian feels like he has to prove that he's superior to Tim," she explained. "It's not my place to tell you exactly why, but it's true. And he knows exactly how to get under Tim's skin."
"So.. no?"
"No."
Danny groaned. "It's giving me a headache." He perked up as he saw the island in front of him. "Hey, guys," he said, "We're here."
They had reached the lair of Clockwork. Clockwork was the master of time and could see into any timeline and all of the possible outcomes. Danny had the idea of asking him if he could show them the moment in which Bruce Wayne had disappeared, in the hopes that they could see which ghost it was.
It was a long shot, but it was the only idea Danny could think of.
Tim and Damian had stopped their arguing, unbuckling their seat belts as Danny landed the Speeder on the grounds of the lair.
"So this guy can tell us who took Bruce?" Stephanie asked as she opened the door, stepping on to the ground. Danny nodded.
"Yeah. I can't promise he'll help, but it's our best bet."
The foursome walked towards the massive clocktower, Damian walking in step with Danny as he gripped his sword. Danny knocked on the door, and it opened with a creak.
"Hello, Danny," a voice said. "And hello, Bats." Clockwork floated down. He was a small ghost, purple in color with a darker purple cloak.
"Whaddup, Clockwork," Danny greeted. "Long time no see." He heard Stephanie laugh at the pun behind him and then heard her grunt as Damian elbowed her.
"It has not been long to me, Danny," Clockwork replied. His eyes drifted over the group. "What do you want?"
"I assume that you know, Time Master," Damian answered before Danny could open his mouth, stepping forward until he was right beside a swirling vortex, although his eyes remained on the ghost. "We are looking for my Father, and Phantom says you can help."
"Damian Wayne," Clockwork said curtly. "Son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al’ Ghul. I understand that you are worried about your father, but I would suggest you step back before you see something you don't want to."
Danny was surprised to see that Damian obeyed. He narrowed his eyes. Clockwork almost seemed... nervous? "What aren't you telling us?"
"You are indeed a smart boy," Clockwork chuckled, "I hope you also can deduce that you were not brought here on accident. I was originally going to go and tell you myself, however, I have seen that it would be better for you to have Stephanie Brown, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne at your side."
"What's wrong?"
"Something has happened," Clockwork turned around, clasping his hands behind on his back as he floated further off. "The Observants have underestimated your power," he turned back around, locking his gaze with Danny's. "The power you have not yet gained."
Danny's face paled. "You don't mean-"
"That is all I can say," the ghost interrupted. "Leave now. I have work to do. I have to stop a little boy with a powerful watch from destroying his timeline."
Danny, however, couldn't move. He was frozen, his eyes wide. There was no way. He was locked in a thermos, with no possible way for a ghost to escape.
Although, that ghost wasn't just any ghost.
"What do you mean by that?" Damian demanded. "Tell us more. Now."
Clockwork looked at the boy with humor in his eyes. "Mr. Wayne, you should not threaten me." He waved his hand. "Now go. You do not have much... time."
Danny shook his head and turned around, walking towards the exit in a trance-like state. With a glance at Clockwork, the others followed, with Damian at the rear. Before he could leave, Clockwork called his name.
"Damian, listen closely," he said, shifting into an older ghost as he spoke. "You will one day get an offer. It will be a tempting offer, one that you will not want to refuse," his eyes darkened. "Do not accept it."
Damian blinked, before strutting outside to follow the others, not responding to Clockwork's warning.
Tim, Stephanie, and Danny were already on the ship as Damian walked out. As he opened the door to step in, he tuned into the conversation.
"So, you're telling us that an evil version of you exists outside of time, and it has Bruce," Tim said slowly. Danny nodded.
"We call him Dark Danny. In the alternate timeline, he- or, I, I guess -watched our family die. He couldn't handle the pain and guilt, so he had Vlad Masters- bad guy, by the way, deck him if you ever see him at a rich-person party -turn him into a full ghost, getting rid of the human side completely. It drove him mad, and without his human side, he was the most powerful ghost in the Ghost Zone. He destroyed the world."
"How did you defeat him?" Damian asked, pulling a capri-sun out of his cooler as he listened. Danny ran a hand through his hair.
"I don't know. Dumb luck, honestly. I guess I have a power that he didn't get until years later, and it knocked him off his game so I could take him down." He grimaced. "I probably wouldn't have beat him if I hadn't surprised him. He took down all of the other ghosts in the Ghost Zone by that point,"
"He must've taken out the Justice League, too," Stephanie mused, crossing her arms. "You said you didn't see them anywhere, right? The only reason they wouldn't have been fighting him is if..." she trailed off.
"We can defeat him," Damian said, crushing the capri-sun in his hand as he finished. "If Phantom can defeat him, then with our help, we can, too."
"Yeah, but like I said, it was only because I surprised him," Danny pointed out.
"Then let's surprise him again," Tim said. He took out the Infi-map. "Danny, who's your worst enemy here? If we can get them to help, and that might knock Dark Danny off his game."
"Pariah Dark," Danny answered instantly. "But that's a terrible idea, trust me," he paused, thinking. "We do need backup, and I know of at least two who could help." He turned his body intangible before Tim could respond, and flew out of the Speeder. He landed in front of it, and putting both of his fingers in his mouth, he whistled. "Come here, Cujo!"
It took a few seconds, but a small green dog zipped in front of Danny, jumping in his arms and knocking him over. Danny smiled widely as he scratched behind Cujo's ears.
"Hey, little guy!" he laughed as the dog licked his face. "I missed you too! You down for an adventure?" Cujo barked, wagging his tail. "I'll take that as a yes," Danny said, phasing back into the Speeder.
"Guys," he said, setting the dog down. "I'd like you to meet Cujo, the best boy in the entire Ghost Zone."
Damian's eyes lit up behind his mask, kneeling down and hugging Cujo as the dog barreled into him, not paying attention as Tim spoke.
"Don't get me wrong, he's adorable, but he doesn't look like he can pack a punch," he said, watching the dog fondly.
"Trust me, he's a fighter," Danny assured him. Tim nodded.
"If you say so, but man, I wish I had a dog," He walked over to where Damian was, scratching Cujo's back. Damian scowled, pulling the dog closer.
"Get back, Drake, Cujo clearly prefers me over you."
"Damian, come on, you have so many pets and I don't have any-"
"You have Bart."
"Bart is not my pet-"
"He is the human version of an Australian Shepherd minus the intelligence-"
As the two bickered, Danny looked at Stephanie. "Damian likes animals?" Stephanie laughed.
"Oh you have no idea, he has a dog, a cat, a cow-"
"A cow?"
"His name is Bat-Cow!" Damian snapped from where he had begrudgingly let Tim hold the dog.
"I love everything about that," Danny laughed. "That's the best name." Damian looked at Tim with a smug look on his face.
"See, Drake? Bat-Cow is a great name."
"I never said it wasn't!"
Danny started to ask Stephanie a question before he heard a crash and the Speeder lurched to the side.
"We've been hit!" Tim yelled, jumping off of the floor and grabbing the Speeder's controls, trying to steady the craft. Danny merged out of the Speeder and narrowed his eyes as he saw the culprit.
A gray ghost in black armor with flaming hair sneered, his arm smoking from where he had shot the Speeder. "Whelp," he growled.
"Nice to see you too, Shorty!" Danny said in a mock-cheerful tone. "Here to kill me? Because you didn't have to shoot the ship, you could've just yelled 'I am Skulker, and you are my prey! Prepare to die!'" he lowered his voice as he imitated the bounty hunter. "And then I would say something witty back, and I would pound you into the ground."
"You aren't the only prey this time, Ghost Child." Skulker answered with a menacing grin.
"You after the Bats?" Danny asked with a raised eyebrow. "If you were trying to kill them, you did a crappy job of it. That blast didn't kill anyone."
"That's the point. I think it'd be fun to beat the proteges of Batman, so they need to be alive and able to fight." he pointed downwards, and Danny followed his gaze, before swooping down to follow.
Somehow, he hadn't noticed that the Speeder was plummeting down to the island below. While the Specter Speeder was durable enough to keep from dying on impact, he didn't want them to crash.
He hurled himself in front of the Speeder, and crossing his arms, made a force  field that surrounding the Speeder. Danny grunted at the exertion, gritting his teeth as he tried to keep the force field surrounding the heavy ship.
The ship still crashed with a loud bang, leaving a large crater around it, but the ship itself was intact. Danny dropped his arms and fell to his knees, exhausted.
The door opened, and his three companions stepped out. "Nice one!" Stephanie praised, and Danny gave her a thumbs-up as he tried to catch his breath. He felt somebody nudge his shoulder, and he saw Damian standing above him with a capri-sun in his hand.
"Drink this," he said, handing Danny the drink. "Do not waste it. I can destroy you."
"Thanks," Danny panted as he poked the straw into the pouch. Damian nodded stiffly.
"Hate to interrupt," Tim said, helping Danny to his feet. "But that that Iron Man wannabe is headed this way."
Danny finished his drink and threw it over his shoulder as his fists lit up with a green aura, ignoring Damian's huff of protest at the littering.
Skulker chuckled as he cracked his knuckles. "Well, look at that," he sneered, "Not a scratch on you! I'm impressed."
"You? Impressed? Who would've thought," Danny said, narrowing his eyes.
Tim pulled out a bo-staff, twirling it around as Damian unsheathed his sword. Stephanie moved to stand beside Danny as she gripped her eskrima sticks.
"Oh, you will soon be impressed yourself," Skulker said as his arms morphed into guns. "You see, I-" he was cut off with a grunt as Danny rushed forward and sent a strong right-hook into his face.
Skulker flew back a few yards before finding his feet again. He glared at Danny. "That was low even for you Ghost Boy. Interrupting me I monologue."
Danny shrugged. "What can I say? It’s the same reason why I’m failing Chemistry; I have a short attention span.” He grinned. "But he doesn't!"
While they had been talking, Damian had managed to get behind Skulker. He jumped into the air, drop-kicking the ghost, sending him to the ground with a thud. Danny picked Skulker up and gave him an uppercut, launching him into the sky.
Skulker shook his head, steadying himself, and shot a barrage of ectoblasts at the four heroes below. Danny made his body intangible while the others, used to being shot at, dodged the blasts with ease. Tim shot his grappling hook at Skulker, wrapping the cord around his leg and pulling him back to the ground.
Tim swung the cord, launching Skulker to the side where his body was met by two hits of Stephanie's eskrima sticks. Skulker merged through the cord and landed on the ground, his teeth grinding together in fury.
"Enough!" he shouted, and sent a shock wave from his arms that blew them back. "I am sick of your pathetic attempts at besting me, whelp! When will you learn that you cannot best the Ghost Hunter!"
"Uh, kind of hard to learn that after I've beaten you, like, every single time we've fought," Danny retorted, putting his hands on his hips with a smirk.
Skulker's eye twitched. "My employer said to bring you in alive, but I don't think he'd mind you all missing a few limbs." His arms morphed into missile launchers, and he held them out at the four.
"Phantom, you possess electrokinesis, correct?" Damian asked quietly, tensing his muscles. Danny nodded.
"Yeah." He met Damian's eyes and smirked as he realized what the younger boy had in mind.
Damian grabbed on to Danny's arm, and, turning them both intangible and invisible, Danny carried Damian into the air, right above Skulker. One of Danny's hands crackled with electricity, and the tip of his fingers brushed against Damian's sword. The blade lit up like a taser. Damian and Danny exchanged a glance and, using Danny's shoulder for leverage, Damian jumped, free-falling towards Skulker.
By the time Skulker saw Damian, it was too late. Damian jabbed his electrified sword into Skulker's armor.
"Oh, crud," Skulker muttered as his armor crackled with electricity, before short-circuiting and launching him into the sky and out of sight.
"Nice one, Damian!" Danny floated to the ground, a wide smile on his face. He raised his hand for a high five. "Up top!"
"Tt. The act of high-fiving is such a ridiculous notion," Damian muttered, but he smacked his hand against the other's anyways. "You did quite well yourself."
"That guy-" Tim popped his shoulder back into place, wincing. "-does not pass the vibe check."
Stephanie snorted. "That guy is the vibe check, Timbers."
Damian sheathed his sword. "I assume that we all have gathered that his employer was Dark Danny?" It was more a statement than a question.
"Oh, for sure," Danny said, before stumbling as Cujo barreled into him. Danny huffed as he lifted the dog to his face. "Where were you, big guy?"
"Are you sure this dog can help us take Future-You down?" Stephanie asked with a raised eyebrow. "A fat lot of help he just was."
"I think he was just sleeping," Danny said as he sat the dog down. "I promise he'll be useful."
"Ship looks pretty good, considering," Tim said from where he was looking at the Specter Speeder. "I think whatever he hit us with just killed the engine. It should start back up."
Danny frowned, a finger on his chin as he pondered aloud. "So if Future-Me has employed Skulker, then he's gotta be somewhere that Skulker has access to. His lair, maybe? But I doubt it. They'd need to be somewhere with some pretty high-tech stuff if they're keeping Batman hostage."
"Are there any technology-related ghosts?" Stephanie asked. Danny didn't answer at first as he watched Tim switch the Speeder on.
"Yes," Danny finally answered. "There is, but I doubt he knows who he's working for. Skulker probably doesn't know either." Danny paused, and the smallest hint of a smile ghosted across his face as another thought struck him. "And I bet Skulker's girlfriend knows even less than that."
_
"So you're tellin' me Skulker's working for Future You? Who took away my voice and my beauty?" A ghost with pink, flaming hair in a high ponytail asked. "Now why the heck would you do that for? I thought we were cool."
"We are. This guy is me from another timeline. He isn't me." Danny explained to Skulker's girlfriend. Ember McLain, the Ghost of Song, crossed her arms, her lips turning into a frown.
"No way he would work with someone who wronged me like that. He would never."
"He doesn't know," Tim spoke up. "He probably just offered him money, or whatever currency you use, in exchange for taking Danny and us."
The Infi-map had taken the four to Ember's lair. If anybody could convince Skulker to stop, Danny had reasoned, it would be her.
"With you, Skulker, Cujo and Wulf on our side, we can beat him," Danny said. "Seeing Skulker and I work together might trip him up," he paused. "You do want to beat this guy, right? I mean, he will end up destroying your voice." Even though Ember might not care about the human world being obliterated, she would definitely care about the same thing happening to her voice.
Stephanie and Damian had stayed in the Speeder with Damian. Stephanie's eyes were wide behind her cowl. "Damian, that's Ember McLain," she whispered. "Remember that song Remember from a couple of years ago? The one Jason wouldn't stop singing on patrol? She sang it! And she's a ghost!"
"Of course she is a supernatural being, Brown, I told you she had the voice of a siren," Damian whispered back.
"I'll talk to him," Ember agreed. "He'll listen to me. You guys go find Wulf, and we'll meet you at Technus' place."
"Great." Danny smiled. "Thanks, Ember. I owe you one."
"Well, I might just take you up on that sometime, Ghost Kid."
"So, Wulf," Tim began as the two walked back towards the ship. "He's like a werewolf? You said?"
"He isn't a werewolf, but he looks like what you'd expect a werewolf to look like," Danny explained. "He's a beast, literally and figuratively. And his claws can tear open a portal to our world, so once we get Batman, we can get out of the Ghost Zone fast."
"Great. Where is he?"
"That's the fun part," Danny replied as he got into the Specter Speeder. "We have to break him out of prison. And the people who own it do not like me.”
If I Go Back In Time Part 2
I realized that were I to actually pitch the movie, the executives and producers would probably ask about more movies going forward. After all, this is supposed to be a cinematic universe to compete with Marvel. I've given it some thought- firstly, the casting of the heroes will be the same, because as far as I'm concerned they all did okay. Secondly, here's a list of possible films in my version of the DCEU:
Man of Steel 2
Plot: See the old post.
To Be Released: Given I said I'd go back to 2012, earliest release would probably be mid 2014
Marketing Notes: Keep it to a minimum. Maybe 2 trailers and a handful of tv spots. Around 4 minutes of footage total, all of it from the first half of the movie. Lower people's expectations a little so they can be surprised if it's any good.
Wonder Woman
Plot: Mostly the same as the one we got for real, but a few significant changes...
Lois Lane is the one conversing with Diana about the photograph, not Batman.
Ares did not kill all of the gods, they simply withdrew from the world of man once humans got too violent. They're in some pocket dimension version of Mount Olympus, waiting for future movies.
Diana does not think that Danny Houston's character is Ares. But she does think he knows where Ares is, because she has a very black-and-white view of the world right now, and Steve told her that Britain and their allies were the good guys. So obviously Ares is on the side of the 'bad' guys, the Germans.
Towards the middle of the movie, when Charlie the sniper is having his breakdown, Diana takes him aside and tells him that the older Amazons still have nightmares about battles from thousands of years ago. It's nothing to be ashamed of. It tends to help them when their friends are nearby. Now, they're not going to force him to fight, but they do want him to come with them. After all, if he stays, who will sing for them? I just think that having that conversation beforehand would be a bit more respectful of his condition. Also it comes back in the climax, Diana at one point has a gun to the back of her head in the middle of a fight, and Charlie shoots the guy first.
When Ares shows up towards the climax, he's actually a good guy who's been trying to end the war peacefully. Turns out, the mythology Diana was taught was wrong. The gods withdrew towards the end of the reign of the first Amazon queen, Otrera. Otrera according to the real world myths had a fling with Ares, which probably ended badly. Here, she would have lied about the reason for the gods' leaving just because she doesn't like Ares. And turns out, mankind really are just a bunch of warmongering assholes. Sometimes.
The real big bad is Doctor Poison. She uses Diana's discarded sword to stab Ares in the back, poisons Diana to weaken her, then huffs some of her own super-serum gas to make the boss battle a fair(-ish) fight.
When Steve comes up to Diana to tell her about his plan to destroy the plane, she can hear him and actually gives him her blessing. So no more 'hung up on her ex' version! It's just not possible if she told him to do it.
There are a couple bits of set up for the next film. First, at some point underwater ruins are mentioned, and Diana asks if Atlantis has fallen in the war. Steve asks if it actually exists, to which Diana replies, “Last time I knew...” The second part is a mid-credits scene where Lois sends Diana another message, asking her to look at a video. The video is exactly the same as the one we got in BvS, of Aquaman underwater stabbing the camera with his trident. During the clip, we hear a part of what will be Aquaman's theme, same as how WW's theme played in her pre-credits scene.
To Be Released: Probably late 2015, early 2016
Marketing Notes: Nothing is released or announced regarding this film until after MoS 2 has been in theaters for a week. I want people to go absolutely fucking apeshit in theaters when they realize that Wonder Woman of all characters will be the next film. Considering how she'd been regarded by Warner Bros. in the past.
The Aquaman
Plot: It's like a crazy Star Wars/Black Panther/Moana fusion. An Operatic Superhero Political-and-Family Drama based out of a futuristic Polynesian magitek version of Atlantis, with only a few scenes above the water.
To Be Released: Mid to late 2017.
Marketing Notes: Don't have a lot of action in the trailers. There will be action in the movie, including a badass final fight, but it'll be less than most superhero films. Focus on the drama in the trailers to accurately represent the movie.
Knight of Gotham
Plot: This movie will be the smallest scale movie in the franchise. It'll focus in on Batman's detective skills more than anything (though he'll still kick major ass).When the movie begins, all of Batman's more famous foes are locked up in Arkham Asylum. He hasn't been seen much lately. So smaller criminals are starting to think it's safe to operate in Gotham again. Mob boss Don Carmine Falcone wants in on it. So he puts out a hit on Commissioner Gordon, the only non-corrupt official in the city. The first taker is Deadshot (setting him up for you-know-what, but a better version). After that a couple of small-time killers. Then Ra's Al-Ghul shows up and tells Batman that every assassin not a part of the League will likely be heading to Gotham to try and kill James Gordon. However, there's only one to really be concerned about: a man named Victor Zsasz. The rest of the film is a cat-and-mouse game between Batman (plus Jim and Batgirl) and Zsasz, culminating in a boss fight that would rival both John Wick movies put together. At the end, Zsasz is a sore loser and blows up Arkham, releasing the villains for future films. At some point, Batman talked to Deadshot in prison and got him to give up Falcone as the one who put out the hit, so Falcone goes to jail and Deadshot is placed in lesser security, with his name marked under the Task Force X label.
To Be Released: Early to mid 2018.
Marketing Notes: Give a significant amount of focus to Batgirl's involvement. People will love that, so long as there's no hint of anything between her and Bruce (there won't be).
Justice League
Plot: We introduce The Flash and Cyborg as a comedic duo of superheroes from STAR Labs, with a dynamic not too dissimilar from Deadpool and Cable, or maybe Hawkeye and Scarlet Witch. The villain of the film is Abra Kadabra, a Flash villain from the distant future who uses nanomachines to do... a lot of different things. He styles himself after a stage magician. As a character in the film, he wants to shunt the Earth into a pocket dimension (make the whole world... disappear!) in order to save it from future disasters. However, the process would kill most of humanity, which is why the League have to stop him. It takes all five powered heroes to hold him down, while Batman delivers the disabling blow using one of his gadgets.
To Be Released: Day after New Year's, 2019.
Marketing Notes: In the film, Abra Kadabra will use his powers to shape shift into the heroes at multiple points. We can use this to run a “Who can you trust?” tagline, with emphasis on the fights, because this movie is spectacle incarnate. With a simple plot.
Man of Steel 3
Plot: This is the one where Lex Luthor reveals his true nature. The big fight will be Warsuit Lex vs Superman. Kryptonite will be introduced here. Other than that, I'm not sure.
To Be Released: Fall 2019.
Marketing Notes: Fake anti-Superman propaganda clips put out by Lex Corp.
Wonder Woman 2
Plot: Villain will probably be Cheetah, since she's the one of the most popular. Might be good to have Diana team up with Flash, just to bring that fun element in, and maybe some time travel stuff. Possibly bringing Steve Trevor back.
To Be Released: Late spring 2020.
Marketing Notes: If Flash is involved, focus on his and Diana's dynamic.
Gotham Sirens
Plot: Catwoman and Lady Shiva have been partners in thievery for a while now. They're hired by Silver St Cloud to steal a sacred amulet (it's actually magic), and they decide to team up with Arkham escapees Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn for the extra muscle. Ivy has her own plans, however, and it involves using the amulet to turn the whole city into a jungle.The reason they needed the extra muscle to steal the amulet is because it was guarded by a private security firm named Grayson and Sons. One guess to who the survivor of the Siren's attack is. Yeah, this movie introduces Nightwing (he skips the Robin identity). He teams up with Batman, Batgirl, and most likely our two thieves to stop Poison Ivy.
To Be Released: Mid fall 2020. Hitting a rhythm now.
Marketing Notes: One half of the material is about the all-girl villain team, the other half is about the growing Bat Family.
Fall of Justice: Tower of Babel
Plot: After Abra Kadabra's tricks, Batman realized how dangerous the rest of the League were and created weapons to stop them if they ever went bad. Unfortunately, someone (maybe Joker? Who would not be played by Jared Leto- I'm thinking Nicholas Hoult, considering his performance as Nux in Mad Max Fury Road) has stolen those weapons and the League is in genuine danger. If not the Joker, perhaps The Rogues came over from Central City and this is Leonard Snart's origin as Captain Cold (the cold gun is in the weapon cache).
To Be Released: Spring 2021.
Marketing Notes: This'll be the darkest entry in the canon so far. Someone will probably die, though who I don't know. Probably a supporting character, but an important one.
There will of course be more movies, but I'm not sure of the order or most of the details. Here's a really quick list:
Constantine (introduce the weird mythos of Dream and the Endless)
Dark Justice (aka, Justice League Dark- the villain will be Enchantress)
Titans (a second superhero team is started by Nightwing and includes Beast Boy, Starfire, and a couple others, and Deathstroke is the villain)
Crisis on Infinite Earths (eventually)
Fall of Justice: The Crime Syndicate (evil versions of our heroes from another Earth)
Flashpoint (without the major reboot aspect)
An Untitled Green Lantern Film (used to introduce planets like Thanagar and Tamaran, as well as the Manhunters)
Identity Crisis (without the “Doctor Light is a serial rapist” part)
Final Crisis (not the last movie)
Suicide Squad (alternately titled “Task Force X”, with a different villain)
Untitled Justice League Sequel (with the Legion of Doom as the bad guys)
Untitled Titans Sequel (with Brother Blood as the villain)
New Gods (I don't know enough about them to even speculate, but this oughta be cool)
Untitled Man of Steel Sequel (uses “Death of Superman” plot)
The Dark Knight Lives (at some point, probably in a League film, Bruce Wayne retired and Batman was believed to be dead. Now he comes back, because Gotham City truly does need him)
Batman Beyond (so it turns out Bruce needs to retire, too, so he finds a protege to take his place)
Justice League Kingdom Come
Man of Steel: Rising Son (deals with the “multiple heroes trying to be Superman” scenario from the comics, before bringing Kal-El himself back)
Shazam
Green Arrow
Untitled Flash Movie
Untitled Green Lantern Sequel
Untitled Justice League Dark Sequel
Blue and Gold (Blue Beetle and Booster Gold buddy comedy film)
All Female Justice League Film
The final film in the entire universe would be titled Fall of Justice: Blackest Night (the “FoJ” title is applied to all the truly dark entries). This is the finale because it would include every character ever introduced in all the films, at least as a cameo; even the dead ones would return as Black Lanterns.
 POWER
Red form of matter Makayla calls “Plasma Fire” (Obviously not its real name, but nobody else knows what it is)
The “Plasma fire” can be emitted from Makayla’s hands, these blasts are kind of unpredictable, she is not entirely sure how to control them yet, but the blasts can Vary in the amount of damage they can do. So far, she has determined that the angrier she is, the more destructive her plasma fire is.
She’s not indestructible, but not completely vulnerable. She has tough skin and bones so she can take a lot of pain before she’s down for the count.
She can fly! But when she does, a red haze forms around her called a “Coma” (The atmosphere of the comet) This leaves a bright red Comet tail trailing after her whenever she flies
She has super strength, not nearly to the extent of Superman, but still pretty strong
Ability to survive Space’s atmosphere, or rather, the lack of atmosphere there, her powers are actually reversed when in space, instead of her plasma blasts, she can only produce some sort of red ice.
Sirius Vance (secretly of course)
Bonfire
DISLIKES
Hospitals
Overly Crowded areas
Emotions
Sirius Vance (Doesn’t like that she likes him)
Batman
Superman
Most of the Justice League in general
Romance Novels
STRENGTHS (Mental)
Her friends
Her stubbornness
STRENGTHS (Physical)
Drinking lots and lots of water
Being in a colder climate
WEAKNESSES (Mental)
Her anger often causes her to hit first, ask questions later
Although her friends can be one of her greatest strengths, they are also her greatest weakness. If they are in trouble, she loses all sense of reason and will do anything to protect them.
She thinks she can beat anything if she hits it hard enough
Her inability to hare her emotions
WEAKNESSES (Physical)
Her powers; Since her DNA structure has changed, her body is a lot like that of a comet (which is essential a big dirty snowball) so the more she uses her powers in earth’s atmosphere, the more she deteriorates. Which is why she need to drink LOTS of water.
Her natural body temperature, which is about 115-120 Degrees Fahrenheit. Even if she’s lucky enough to not use her powers, her constant warm temperature causes her to be in a constant state of deteriation. So, needless to say, she drinks a lot of water throughout the day.
Water, this time I’m not referring to drinking water. If she is completely submerged, she is not only unable to use her plasma fire, but the water around her will eventually start boiling, and Heat + Red Comet = Not good
Hot climates
FEARS
 The Dark
Hospitals
Abandonment
Being alone (which is ironic, because she distances herself from others)
OTHER FACTS
Makayla’s dad left her family to run away with some young beauty soon after she was born, so Makayla doesn’t miss him at all
She is mad him though; she sometimes wonders if things would have turned out differently if he stayed
Her mom left when she was 3, she hated the idea of having a metahuman for a daughter.
She doesn’t miss her mom either, she doesn’t remember much about her mom, even the stuff she does remember is not good, for example, she remembers her mother calling her a freak on more than one occasion
Makayla’s brother Danny took care of her for two years before he died at the age of 18. He was mugged on his way to pick Makayla up from school and left for dead.
Danny was the only one in her family that loved and took care of her
 Makayla was and is still heartbroken about Danny’s passing
Her eyes were originally green
Was known as Little Leaguer when she was young
Trained by individual members of the justice league
Loved hanging out with a lot of the hero’s sidekicks, especially the robins
 Dick and Jason were her robins
She was kidnapped before Jason was killed, so to her, he was never Dead.
 She was kidnapped at the age of 11 by mercenaries (for “Little Leaguer,” not Makayla) and was tortured for the names of the Justice league.
 This went on for a year
She never broke.
 When the mercenaries gave up, she was sold to a Race of alien that was known for their scientific research and testing. They were called the Prale.
For 7 years, she was tested on, pinched and prodded. Two years into their various testing, they decided to test an incredibly old and unknown substance on her called “Red Comet.” Remainder of her 5 years there, they injected her with the unknown chemical.
This is how she got her new powers
Had issues with the league after she got back
 They think she might be a clone (especially Batman) so they don’t trust her much and have been keeping an eye on her.
Her, Jason, and Dick are still buddies
 She had a huge crush on Jason when she was younger
 Still kind of does, she just thinks he’s pretty good looking
Has a bad habit of popping into Dick’s and Jason’s house unannounced
Met Sirius Vance about 4 or 5 months after she got back.
She didn’t really care for him at first, with his consistent flirting, but began to have feelings for him.
She cares for Sirius, but never shows it. She’s afraid that if she grows to attached, he will leave her like everyone else did.
She also thinks that he deserves better than her.
Her first kiss was with Sirius
She isn’t the brightest, she’s not stupid! She just didn’t go to school in the 7 years that she was missing, so she had a 4th grade education
Newer references fly right over her head, along with any sexual references.
When it comes to small food that needs to warmed up, she often just holds them for a minute to warm them. (She especially likes doing this with popcorn)
doesn’t bother putting oven mitts when taking stuff out of the oven
Okay brainworms mean I have more to add to this:
Bruce got shot with his parents while trying to run, he fell into an open sewer drain and because this is Gotham there was a puddle of ectoplasm there, saving him as he died, Danny (who got sent here by Clockwork) freaks out and uses his own ecto to save Bruce, this doesn’t do anything except for making Bruce a proper halfa who Danny promptly becomes the adoptive ghost father of.
The Wayne death happened a long time ago, by the time the Justice league shows up Bruce Wayne is old enough that it’s completely reasonable to assume he’s dying happily in retirement.
Gotham is his haunt, the Batcave is his nest. Much like how Amity Park is Dannys haunt but (depending on your head canons) he has a nest or a home. This is why Batman hates leaving Gotham, everything in his core cries out to him, screaming to go back and protect his haunt.
Batman joined the league because he sees this group of ghostlings dealing with what he dealt with only with way less power and/or back up and freaks out, quickly making sure the League takes care of their mental and physical needs because these are babies! Bruce waited until he was at least a toddler and these guys are newborns (by ghost standards) not to mention he had the help of Danny, Dan, Dani, Jazz, Frostbite, and Clockwork.
Dan and Dani are Bruces siblings and Bruce often purposely annoys or insults Dan if he wants bad weather because when Dan gets mad thunderstorms happen (have you watched Ultimate Enemy? There’s no way that weather stayed like that the whole time, Dans dramatic ass did that on purpose)
Batman is the ghost of reality, like how Danny is the ghost of space, also like how Danny also has ice powers Batman can control the shadows
Bruces hair does in fact turn white like Dannys does, but because he got a little ecto and then a lot more it kind of messes this up and he has black tips. (Search up platinum hair with black tips and then imagine that on Bruce, most of the results will be what I mean)
Batman doesn’t (and can’t due to him being considered so old he should probably be dead by now) legally adopt the rest of the Batfam, but he ghost adopts them, one look at their cores and you can tell they’re his, Clockwork loves having so many grand-grand babies. Eventually Bruce realises these guys are technically homeless so shows up as Brucie Wayne (yes that is his legal name) the secret son of Bruce Wayne claiming his father just died and having legal evidence (what he wrote in his own will) to show that he is in fact the legal hair to Wayne enterprises, everyone is unnerved by how similar he and Bruce are.
Dick Grayson nearly dies, he comes so close to death as he was about to jump and grab his fathers hands but Bruce screamed out in ghost speak and warned him not to because Bruce (being the ghost of all versions of reality and having this as a side power) can sense when someone’s about to die. While Dick couldn’t understand ghost speak Bruce is powerful enough that he froze, Dick Grayson becomes death-touched and Bruce takes the not-quite halfa in.
Jason Todd was the exact same age when he tried to steal Batman’s tires, Joker found him first though and kidnapped him, Bruce couldn’t get there fast enough but him being around means there’s enough ambient ecto to make Jason Todd into a ghost powerful enough to live on instead of the ghost zone, Bruce takes him in too. He gets revived by Talia which is a bad thing, Jason was at peace as a ghost and as Robin, he had a hidden grave next to Bruces and it was well maintained, ripping him back from death was wrong and it took years to get the corrupted ecto out of his blood but they had to replace it with normal a to making him a halfa, he misses being a ghost often but is okay with being a halfa like Bruce.
Tim spends enough time stalking the batfam he becomes a liminal, his abilities (as well as the basic, can float a few inches off the floor, eyes reflect light in a way no humans should, not quite human/right) are being a mild technopath and also has the ability to go longer without sleep, he only likes the taste of coffee.
-Adding more-
Time, Space, and Reality
Clockwork, Phantom, and Batman
Grandfather, father, and son
Stream Danny Elfman’s ‘Justice League’ Score
“Justice League” doesn’t land in cinemas until next week, but if you feel like getting into the superhero spirit a little early, you can now sit back and stream Danny Elfman‘s score to the blockbuster.
The composer — who has put his touch on other spandex features like  “Avengers: Age Of Ultron,” “Hulk,” “Spider-Man,” “Spider-Man 2,” “Batman,” and “Batman Returns” — replaces Junkie XL (“Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice,” “Mad Max: Fury Road“) who was originally tasked for the gig.
“When Tony Stark jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor, the Incredible Hulk and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron, a technological terror hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.”
You can find all of the reviews for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the link here. At that link, you can also find the dates that the other reviews for the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be posted. My plan is to release one every single day, and because I’ve already reviewed Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 here, and Spider – Man: Homecoming here, they will not be included in the two weeks leading up to Thor Ragnarok.
As such, I will now move onto the actual review of the film, and I hope you enjoy!
The Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer – Source: Marvel Studios
Cast and Crew
This film was written and directed by Joss Whedon, returning for the last time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after he was ‘absolutely drained and exhausted after this film.’ Now, I’ve already mentioned his previous work in the review for ‘Marvel’s The Avengers’, however, I will do a quick recap of it here. Before joining the MCU, he was known for directing and writing hit television shows including ‘Firefly’, ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and Dollhouse. He has since worked on writing and directing portions of the ‘Justice League’ movie that is coming to theatres on November 17, 2017, and is currently working on ‘Batgirl’ for Warner Brothers as well.
This slideshow requires JavaScript.
The cast for the ever expanding Avengers: Age of Ultron includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, James Spader, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Anthony Mackie, Hayley Atwell, Idris Elba, Linda Cardellini, Claudia Kim, Andy Serkis, Stellan Skarsgård, Thomas Kretschmann, Kerry Condon, Josh Brolin and Stan Lee
Review
The opening sequence of this film is straight out of a comic book onto the big screen, and it was beautiful. The scene featured the Avengers all working together, having been clearing out the remnants of Hydra and going after Loki’s Scepter to finally get rid of the threats left behind by the Chitauri. It was exciting, and fun, and even has Cap telling people to watch their language. We are also briefly introduced to two new characters in Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, who use their powers to mess with the Avengers a bit.
The one thing that I had a problem with at the beginning of this film was the lullaby, that was used by Black Widow to soothe the Hulk, and to calm him down enough to get him to revert back to Banner. While that is something that they would have obviously tried to figure out as a team, I didn’t like the execution of it, nor the implications that would later be revealed between the two characters.
Dr. Helen Cho, developed a machine that is able to create and synthesise quick healing of flesh wounds, and perhaps more (never explored further). It’s a quick and easy explanation that can be used if ever the Avengers are scene injured in one scene, and ‘fine’ the next. I enjoyed that little scene where Barton was getting fixed up, as it displayed the camaraderie that the Avengers had with one another.
With the Scepter back in the Avengers hands, the mad scientist, Banner and Stark (mostly Stark), decide that it would be a good idea to use the scepter that they’ve been studying to help them in creating Ultron, the peace program that would be able to protect the planet. As everything Stark does with good intentions, it doesn’t really go all that well.
The celebration scene where we get to see the Avengers all relax and have fun, is somethign that the movie did extremely well. They managed to make these superheroes extremely relatable, especially in the Mjolnir scene, where all the men try and take turns in lifting the hammer. The best part of that scene was when Rogers made it budge, and the priceless look on Thor’s face was extremely satisfying and hilarious.
Ultron as a character in this film starts off really terrifying as he has no control over the emotions that he has, and translates the phrase ‘peace in our time’ into meaning that to have peace, humanity must be extinct, as they are the ones fighting one another, and destroying the planet. It’s not a wrong analogy that Ultron comes up with, but the execution of the idea of manufacturing peace is not humane.
Over the course of the movie, he becomes more obsessed with destroying the Avengers in a grand and theatrical way (something he got from his creator (Stark), that he comes off as weak.
The music in Avengers: Age of Ultron was done by Brian Tyler & Danny Elfman. I feel that they both delivered great scores and themes for the heroes, while also being consistent throughout their differences. Before writing this review, I was under the impression that it was only Elfman who had worked on the score, not realising that they worked together and separately on this film.
The cinematography of Avengers: Age of Ultron was done by director of photography Ben Davis. This film featured really somber framing, as well as gorgeous shots. I enjoyed and am surprised by how many characters he was able to fit into a single frame, as the group is only getting bigger. I really enjoyed the action scenes, and appreciated the one shot scene in the church with the Avengers fighting the Ultrons.
The character of Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the ultimate android, using the Mind Stone as some sort of super battery. To Ultron, Vision is the perfect being, and as displayed when he picks up Mjolnir, he is worthy of that ability. I feel like they might be backing themselves into a corner with this character whenever the character meets Thanos. Once Vision loses the Mind Stone, will he be finished, or will he somehow live. Infinity War will answer a lot of questions, and will probably feature a lot of deaths. I hope that one of them isn’t Vision just to be able to see people’s reactions if ever Marvel Studios decides to further explore the love interest between himself and Scarlet Witch as implied in Captain America: Civil War.
The Maximoff twins, without the use of Mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they have been named ‘miracles’, given their enhancements via the Mind Stone that was in Loki’s Scepter. Wanda / Scarlet Witch was portrayed wonderfully and creepily by Elizabeth Olsen. I really loved what they did with the character, even showing glimpses of the potential of her power after her brother’s death. I am happy that they chose to keep Wanda, and ‘let Fox have Pietro’, however I wish we could have had both.
Pietro Maximoff, Marvel’s ‘answer’ to the Flash from DC. He is able to run extremely fast without getting tired, however they chose to add that limitation in the movie so that he would not be overpowered. I feel like the back and forth that he and Clint Barton had throughout the film was fun and enjoyable, and I was happy to see that he will be remembered in the MCU through Nathaniel Pietro Barton, Clint’s third child, after Quicksilver sacrificed himself to save Clint and the child that he had gone to get.
Scarlet Witch got to mess with everyone’s minds, and show them visions of either their worst memory or their worst fear? It wasn’t very clear on that, one thing I truly enjoyed of that was Clint Barton’s response in not wanting to be mind controlled again, and decided to electrocute her with one of his non-lethal arrows.
Tony’s vision showed him the death of the Avengers, and the gaping wormhole that the Chitauri were coming through in New York, it leads him to really go after the Ultron project as wants to prevent that from ever happening, and continues the journey that he was on in Iron Man 3, with wanting to protect those that he cares about.
Natasha’s vision was a memory of her training that she went through in the Red Room, forcing her to remember the horrors that she experienced, including the graduation ceremony where she was sterilised, which influences her to taking the path towards Banner, especially because he doesn’t want to fight, and she just wants to escape, as he once did.
Steve’s vision included him back in the 40s, after the end of the war, where he survived and got to have that dance with Peggy Carter. It was a touching scene, where you realise that his worst memory / fear? is that he couldn’t grow old with the person he loved, and that everyone that he cared about is now long gone. I was surprised that we didn’t see Barnes in that scene of his, even if it was only a glimpse.
Scarlet Witch had one more victim in mind for her mind games, and unfortunately we don’t get to see what caused the Hulk to change, but it’s easy to figure out, most likely the hulk is his worst memory / fear, and in that becomes self explanatory. The good thing about that scene, is that it displays to the world what the Hulk is capable of, and we also got to see the Hulkbuster armour go toe to toe with the Hulk. They caused so much destruction, and the fight was so intense and fun to watch, that you can understand that the Hulk is something to be afraid of, especially if he loses control as he was forced into doing.
Avengers: Age of Ultron is also the start of the rift that will grow to cause the Civil War between the Avengers, with Tony wanting to protect the planet at any cost, while Rogers wants to have the power of free will, and be able to save who he wants and when he wants. The scene between the two chopping wood really shows the tension between the ‘two leaders’, and I feel like it was brilliantly acted by Evans and Downey Jr..
The part of the movie that I feel was the most forced thing out of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe was the whole Banner / Romanoff ‘relationship’ throughout the movie. It wasn’t needed, it was awkward, boring and just plain weird. Natasha must know that there could be no sex life with Banner, as evidence from ‘The Incredible Hulk’, where Banner can’t sleep with Betty Ross because he can’t even get a ‘little bit excited.’ I feel like it was forced, as I’ve already mentioned, and I still don’t know why Marvel thought it would have been a good idea.
The final confrontation between the Avengers and Ultron felt weak, and copies the same third act formula from the first Avengers film. A shit ton of robots (Chitauri) that are extremely expendable and able to be taken down with ease, versus the Avengers team, with two new heroes added, after an inspiring speech from Hawkeye to Scarlet Witch.
That is one of the greatest problems with the film, was that it felt very much like a carbon copy of the first one, while also throwing in Deus Ex Machina of a Heli Carrier with the help from Maria Hill and Nick Fury. It felt like they just didn’t know how to properly do a third act of the film on this one, and that’s a shame because the first act was fantastic, the second one was good, but the third one was weak.
I really enjoyed that Clint Barton had a secret family that Natasha of all people knew about. It was a little convenient in that Ultron had access to everything on the internet, but wouldn’t have known that Barton was married and had 2 kids. I found it really touching, as it gave a reason for Barton to be a part of the team, he is the most human out of them all, and he is doing the superhero act because it’s his job, and he wants to protect his family. I thought it was touching to see the Avengers reactions upon finding out.
At the time, I thought that Thor’s vision that Scarlet Witch had given him was kind of lame, and took him out of the story and it added a storyline that wasn’t needed in that movie. I still believe some of that, as it doesn’t add anything whatsoever in the film, but it does set up the next movie that he is set to appear in, Thor: Ragnarok. He sees the infinity stones that have been seen in the MCU thus far, and he knows that it’s not a coincidence, so he decides that the best thing to do, is electrocute the cradle to bring Vision to life with the Mind Stone. One thing that doesn’t really make sense is how would he know about the Power Stone being in the MCU?
His vision also hints at the whereabouts of the last Infinity Stone, the Soul Stone, when he questions Heimdall about what happened to his eyes, which were white in this scene, but are usually orange, the colour of the Soul Stone).
The Hulk, after being tricked and forced to turn by the Black Widow, decides to leave the Avengers after the events in Sokovia, and ends up disappearing. We will hopefully find out exactly what happened in Thor: Ragnarok, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they just gloss over that little detail.
The Avengers end up getting a new facility, courtesy of Stark using one of his father’s old warehouse in upstate New York to avoid a confrontation where civilians can be hurt near their base of operations. We also get to meet the new Avengers, which include Black Widow, Vision, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, Falcon and Captain America.
We get a fun little chat between Thor, Steve Rogers and Tony Stark where the ‘humans’ debate whether Vision being able to lift Mjolnir counts, as he’s an android. Thor finally leaves, running Stark’s lawn, and heads off towards Ragnarok.
There was only one post credit scene in this film, and that was of Thanos grabbing a gauntlet and saying that he’s going to have to do it himself, leading into Avengers: Infinity War.
Overall, I feel like this movie could have been a lot better in terms of how the villain was used, the manipulation / release of the Maximoff twins, the lullaby, the hinted relationship between Banner and Romanoff, and being too much like the first Avengers film. There was a lot of good moments, which is why the score might be higher than people think. I really enjoyed the opening sequence of the film as well as the after party that followed. I feel like it made the Avengers relatable and fun to see them interacting as the friends that they’ve become since their first mission in New York.
The twin’s ability was visually well done, except I had problems with Quicksilver being tired. I loved the realization that Barton was hiding a whole life from his friends, having his family off the books at S.H.I.E.L.D. which was really convenient but held true to the character. This film also helps in setting up a lot of films from Phase III of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with; Ulysses Klaue for Black Panther, Stark and Rogers starting to have more friction due to their beliefs for Captain America: Civil War, Thor on his side mission & Hulk disappearing for Thor: Ragnarok, and Thanos in the post credit scene for Avengers: Infinity War.
At the end of the day, this movie had a lot of shortcomings, and was extremely noticeable after coming off two very great movies in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy. I have to give this film a score, and that score is 7/10.
What did you think of the film? Are you excited for Thor: Ragnarok? Let me know in the comments below!
Thanks for reading,
The dimension with the GIW taking out Danny is in dc. The justice league has likely just been being formed or being formed so at the time there they had no help. Or maybe jack and Maddie didn’t reach out and thought they could save their Danny themselves.
Once the league got settled and figured stuff out or just found out about it. They then launched a campaign against the Giw. It looses any good pr and had to be shut down. (Maybe it only pretends and goes into hiding. Just maybe the reappearance of a new phantom will bring them out of hiding) Now it didn’t save Danny. All it did was prevent it from happening to any other member of the realm.
The good jack and Maddie couldn’t stand the thought of any version of Danny be hunted by a version of themselves. So of course they welcome Danny into the fold.
Imagine at first they were hesitant about everything. How they would feel seeing there dead son alive from a different universe. They failed him in their dimension. But Danny’s own parents are actively hurting him and they can’t stand it.
Perhaps he visits frequently for a while. This world has hero’s. He doesn’t need to do anything unless he wants to. Just a nice spot to relax.
Once Danny’s true parents get trigger happy. It’s where he takes refuge in that dimension anytime he gets horribly hurt. Bad burns from blasters, gashes and bruises. At first it didn’t have anything to do with that dimensions jack and Maddie. He just wanted a place to heal. The ghost security system just kept going off on him at home.
But then the two are nice to him. Offer him help. Slowly the good Fenton parents worm there way into his heart just as Danny is working into there’s. He didn’t come looking for new parents at all. But they are horrified of what’s happening in Danny’s own dimension. Slowly the bond builds.
The good dimension jack and Maddie have kept the league up to date. As not too crazy mad scientist they had a decent standing with them with them on ghost shields. So the league is aware of the intersimensional jumps.
So when Danny shows up in the good dimension injured and hurt from a reveal gone wrong. They know it’s time for a permanent shift. Danny was already in that dimension for the bulk of the week by now.
It was easy to convince him.
I think it would be fun to explore a fic where:
Danny explores an alternate universe where his parents accept him but mourn his loss (They know he's Phantom but lost him to the GIW).
In is Original Universe his parents get trigger happy with him. So he decides to leave.
Eventually, he moves to the new universe and lives with his new parents and ... brother.
Vlad is still a fruitloop, but is this time obsessed with his Dad.
*I cant tie this to a DC universe but I really want to*
