Can I know more about Ur DA AU? Just the general story or something. Maybe even some basics like when it takes place or like, Frisk's past or something. Hehe. please if it's not too much.

So! Let's start with basics...

This is the "MONSTER valley", a valley created by the once active volcano, Mt Ebott. Monster's call the mountain Sunpeak cuz at high noon the sun sits ontop of it.

The general layout of the "Underground" is changed since it's above ground (it's like but also not like overtale), so snowdin is a lot closer to new home than waterfall (around a two hour walk from snowdin to hotlands). Now, I know what you're thinking "WHERE'S WATERFALL?!?!???" chillax broski

it's the ✨️river✨️

But since the name doesn't make sense anymore there's uhh like, a big waterfall somewhere along the way to hotlands? I haven't placed it yet.

The core basically half revived the unactive volcano and turned it into a power source for monsters AND the barrier.

Barrier?! Wha‽ That's right, there's a migical barrier that an unknown scientist made to protect the monsters from human hunters ever since the war.

What war? THE GREAT HUMAN MONSTER WAR. "Where the angel fell from the sky and lead monsters to the safety of the valley." More like: before they were sealed underground an unknown monster transported them all to the valley.

The barrier essencially just turns humans around so they can't enter the valley, but since it's spread over such a wide area there's a few weak spots. Mainly around the ruins and new home. This reason is why the royal guard was founded: to kill any humans within the valley.

It wasn't until the death of the royal's children did the guard be put into practice and start collecting souls. The reason got collecting souls is so the king can absorb them all and become god (rip the human race ✌️😔)

No, flowey is not a rose, he's a poppy. Poppy's are usually considered weeds except in places like australia //me home :)// where they hold a cultural significance. They say poppies used to be white until the blood of soldiers forever stained them red. (Wink wink nudge nudge 😏)

Red poppies were usually only found in the ruins but have since spread along the river in a mass bloom. It's a crime to disturb them, a law that was founded by the Queen before she went missing. Monster's generally think it's stupid but the king upholds that law so they follow begrudgingly.

Papyrus is a little more snarky, but pokes fun at people within reason. He's also ACTUALLY in the royal guard due to his strength and not training to be in it. Also, I thought it would be funny is sans gave more "literally just a guy" energy

probably final ask for today but opinion on Gaster and what kind d of relationship he would have had with the murder time trio.

Like the mere mention of Gaster brought feeling to Killer where he started to freak out while saying he isn't real while Gaster looks sad behind him trying to talk to him, reassure him. I'm thinking he was there dad only cause of some other comics they made for like undertale and stuff have him as their dad.

Horror i remember when you ask him in game his smile becomes unhinged and basically instant kills you. Which honestly still leaves things for interpretation he could he family, a mentor, a good person, a bad person like da hard to tell.

Dust i don't know if anyones ever asked about Gaster I can think maybe like once but I can't remember what exactly was said other then it being about if Dust could like kill him. Personally I've always loved the Interpretation of Dusttale being a future handplates timeline but that's a personal want then anything really to do with dusttale canon

Either way I think all Sanses have complicated relationships with their Gasters remembered or not

I don’t really think about Gaster too much. Particularly because Killer himself hardly seems to think about him, he hallucinates grillby more than he has Gaster, besides that one instance where sans killed Alphys ofc.

As for Horror and Dust, I don’t know. Someone more knowledgeable and obsessed with them than I can probably chime in with some thoughts.

Planning

First thing I usually do is - I plan a lot beforehand

Especially if it’s a drawing with existing characters

Ironically TSP/STP drawings were easier to do for me

Even though bear megadrawings look simpler (I think?)

Basically when you already have a list of character you want to include - you just need to think where to locate them

When you just draw a lot of random characters - you need to design every single one

Which is kinda a nightmare on your brain 💥

The second type is a lot more flexible tho (you can add or remove characters at will, no count needed)

Project stages

I will use TSP + Undertale reblog chain drawing as an example

1) Collecting references - if you plan to draw existing characters, it’s better to gather all the references

Making an additional list of all characters helps too (this way you can track which character you already drawn)

2) Planning the area

Photobashing or finding a good location reference really helps here

Sadly don’t have a photobash I did for this, I deleted everything 💥

This is just an example to demonstrate things 👆

I usually just do a rough sketch on a small piece of paper

You don’t have to have it 100% planned, if characters don’t fit, you can just extend/edit the area

3) Character planning

You have to determine where your characters will be located

The common mistake I see when ppl draw detailed drawings: they draw a singular character and move on to add others

If you’re doing it digitally, this may not be a problem for you (ya know just make a character smaller or move them, problem solved)

But what I recommend doing:

Is drawing shapes where you plan to put characters in

This will help you plan out the composition more and regulate the character amount in different parts of the drawing

Also keep in mind the size of you character

I struggle with it to this day tbh

Usually the characters on the foreground are bigger then the ones on the background (this is one of the art principles used to showcase distance)

But an interesting thing you may notice when looking at illustrations like “Where’s Waldo” series

This principle often may be ignored

It’s still kinda present, but you can pretty much say many characters are -+ the same size

My theory is that it’s done to make every character equal, so the purpose to find Waldo is still challenging

+ I think to keep the whole picture harmonious

I may not know certain principles (the nitty-gritty of detailed art like this)

So keep in mind this is just my experience, do your research too >:D

4) Key characters

This one is a bit vague, but I will try to explain it the best I can

When you have a specific character, who, for example, is way bigger or has brighter colours then the rest

You need to give them more attention

Let’s see an example

- Big creatures on da background - they were drafted first, bc they required a lot place

- Spider Barry - a special area for spider characters

- Thierry - active action, running, led to a chain of characters interacting

- Narry Grilby’s, Bearline, Pixel Alphys - themed areas for certain characters

(my apologies if I made a mistake in any character name here, let me know, I will fix it)

+ Advice for colour: try to keep them the similar saturation, so the image looks harmonious

You don’t really have to have key characters, it’s just my method that makes the process easier to plan out

5) Art part let’s gooo

This part is up to you obviously, different ppl draw differently

For me it’s usually > small draft > sketch > line art > scan > colour

Advice for my traditional artist - ya’ll need a big paper sheet

I usually work on A3 format, bc it’s easier to scan

But the bigger the paper the more detailed characters you can draw

Bc rookie mistake

Too many characters, not enough paper

I used A3, but looking back A2 would work way better here

I used a really thin line pen (005) and didn’t realise the consequences of that 💥

As a result scan turned out not the best quality (+ if you zoom in on the faces 🐻‍❄️🔫)

It was impressive at the time, but rrrr I wish I just bought a bigger piece of paper back then 💥

Just to illustrate the issue

On the top are pens I usually use for comics lineart, the bottom one is 005

And my finger as an obscure reference lmao 💥

As you can see the lines are REALLY DAMN THIN and everything is smol, tiny even

So just keep that in mind 👍

And for my digital fellas

How much time it takes

Practicing concentration and patience is important 💥

This may sound silly, but it does help with finishing stuff

Projects like those require a ton of patience and focus

So just mentally prepare yourself for sitting on your desk for hours™️

From my experience I would recommend to start with small drawings with a small amount of characters

And then gradually build up to bigger amounts and more details

My first ever megadrawing was this piece

Line art took 2 weeks, colouring -+ a week I believe

This was exhausting the first time 💥

After practicing the process became faster and less tiring

The TSP x Undertale took about 4 days (but like full 4 days)

Remember doing lineart in 1 day, taking breaks just to like eat

I have a tendency to concentrate on things for a really long periods of time, so it’s not a “🔥I WILL BURN MYSELF OUT WITH THIS PROJECT LET’S GO🔥” type of deal, this is pretty much how I am

If I enjoy a specific process I can spend an entire day doing just that, without getting tired (the only problem could be not enough movement and eye pain, my eternal enemy 👿)

But 🫵 don’t expect yourself to do the same 🫵

Start small, practice, don’t push your limits right away

Take breaks and care about yourself fellas 👏

Eu já tinha falado da dimensão das papoulas onde o M!XChara foi selado e agora trago uma Comic de como foi ficar preso após o que aconteceu em OuterTale, eu fiz uma hq também do M!XFrisk do lado de fora e agora da pra ver a perspectiva do irmão dele do lado de dentro

Ter sido aprisionado por quatro anos naquela dimensão fez M!XChara desenvolver autofobia quando liberto, mesmo que na maior parte do tempo aquelas flores o faziam dormir quando ele acordava ele estava preso naquele mundo sozinho e trouxe sequelas nele adulto

I had already talked about the poppy dimension where M!XChara was sealed and now I bring a Comic about what it was like to be trapped after what happened in OuterTale, I also did a comic about M!XFrisk outside and now you can see his brother's perspective from the inside

Being imprisoned for four years in that dimension made M!XChara develop autophobia when he was released, even though most of the time those flowers made him sleep when he woke up he was trapped in that world alone and it had consequences for him as an adult.

Fox clover au were chujin save clover life by turning them into a fox monster/kitsune.

Clover soul. It a monster soul like the ketsukane family or the boss monster soul

Chujin was only able to do this once by mixing his and Ceroba magic together and just winging it as they just dump a bunch if monster magic that turn clover human soul into a monster soul. In witch turn clover into a fox monster/kitsune like the ketsukane family.

Clover soul das has a faint yellow glow like if you made a yellow to light in color it comfused for white (( hit if undyen show off with there magic she just see a journal monster soul instead of a human on )).

What chujin didn't expect from the experiment was that clover is now there own kin or blood in a magic way sinch he he used his and Ceroba magic in the experiment.

(( just imagine after monster are free from the underground and say that dr alphys found out that chujin sum how successfully turn clover into a monster or in words a human into a monster by using his and Ceroba magic. ))

Ah, got it. Clover's Soul turns completely into a Monster's Soul, but still has their human soul lingering with the faint yellow glow.

For someone to see that Yellow glow around Clover's now monster soul, they'd have to be really observant. And even if then, they'd probably guess it's something to do with being a Boss Monster.

I managed to do a page, but I kinda rushed it as I had a bad pain episode on Friday so I had to do all the digital lineart, coloring, and lettering in like… 3 or 4 hours. 

Anyway, Undyne asks Alphys if she wants to be a mom. Mobile Sprout Flowey and his cohort flee in response. 

Gotta say, after drawing nothing but Rito in my spare time for so long, anatomy has gotten way harder. I haven’t shared any of that art, but the way Rito wing-arms work has made it hard to go back to normal arms. This is what I meant in the last page’s description when I said “will she get distracted by birds.”

Random's Lore Drops - underfalling fish lady REAL!!!-

Howdy hey, fellas, i'm back, and i've got more LORE for you gremlins. this time, it's... dun da dun... UNDERFELL'S UNDYNE! (warning image is goofy because it's from the same drawing as the one I used for frisk)

Ahem. For starters, undyne is still captain of the royal guard, blah blah blah, y'know the shtick. EXCEPT, she's already dating Alphys before the events of Underfell (as in frisk falling) happen. Now then, lets hope the canonfell wiki doesnt fail me... or you... or us. Undyne has two separate outfits, the old one being an alt outfit. It LOOKS relatively the same... HOWEVER, she wears latex boots, similar to Papyrus's, in the alt outfit. Also the red is really fucking bright. She's almost as merciless as King Asgore (the fell one because, we're, we're talking about uf), and acts extremely condescending, specifically towards Papyrus, though (apparently) also occasionally doing the same towards Sans. Also, Papyrus challenges her a lot, and 99% of the time, she wins (he only won once). Undyne is the one to swear the MOST out of the entire cast, and the art to show this... Is Undyne burning herself from trying to grab a food that Papyrus was cooking that was STILL on the grill. Truly, a genius. Honestly, there isn't a lot here... I think we're currently suffering from Sans and Papyrus lore syndrome, where only sans and papyrus have the most lore. so I'll say the rest that we've got. Despite being almost as merciless as Asgore, she does care for other characters, such as obviously, Alphys, because the two are... Well, dating. As for Papyrus... According to my singular source, in the... not Betrayal i think the wiki got this wrong, but in one of the routes, when Papyrus tries to defend Frisk, Undyne HAS to kill him, though she absolutely despises what she has to do in order to kill Frisk. Well, that's all the lore the wiki has fed me and that i will feed you. See you in the next one (I MIGHT work on a filler post though not sure which character should get the post)
