I made a little edit for Richter belmont with his DXC design. I want to say i don't hate the nocturne design (maybe the hair only) but this is just a "fanart" (if we can say that) for only fun purpose.

The train is pictured in the Arnold Valley heading towards Stillwater and journey's end. I had chased the train up from Moana (mostly because we were travelling on the return, rather than to photograph it) under cloud cover, but having got ahead, wanted to try this view from the Arnold Valley Rd. I though it could be imposing whatever the weather, but things were starting to look a little less dull as we headed north. Miraculously a little patch of sunshine opened up as the train approached and disappeared soon after it. This was the only patch of light we had seen all morning, and there would be no more until later on the train when we emerged from the Otira tunnel at Arthur's Pass.

Dae usually doesn't say or do anything when someone's bothering them ONLY bc he knows when Carmen can handle the situation on her own. She doesn't like feeling reliant on anyone n he doesn't want to accidentally demean her in a situation she can handle

The only times when Dae will do something is if she asks him to step in or if he feels like something bad will happen if he doesn't

Also, while Annette didn't have much character in the games, there is one scene from Rondo of Blood where Annette tells Dracula that she'd rather slit her throat than join him. She's defiant.

And that is a trait that Nocturne's Annette possesses in spades. She says, "I could not be caged. No matter how many times they tried to take me."

Also, a little detail I love is that they kept her RoB outfit's colors (yellow & white) in her design.

(Also, Tera wasn't blonde or green-eyed in RoB or DxC, but was there an uproar about inaccuracy for her? No, which perfectly illustrates that they don't actually care about accuracy, they're just racist.)

(Disclaimer: I am not saying they should have gone ballistic about that change, because while that wouldn't be racist, it would still be a stupid thing to bitch about.)

LOYALLY HOW? SHE ISN'T EVEN A FUCKING PERSON? SHE'S JUST RICHTER'S SATELLITE LOVE INTEREST WHO NEEDS TO BE SAVED. SHE GETS TURNED INTO A VAMPIRE, THE ONE INTERESTING THING THAT HAPPENS TO HER, AND SHE'S THERE TO BE SEXY FOR RICHTER.

Annette's biggest plot line is that:

A.) She gets kidnapped by Dracula and Richter saves her.

B.) She gets turned into a vampire and obsesses over Richter.

There is nothing to adapt loyally because she's not a character!

Castlevania games have always been light on plot. The same goes for their characters.

Yeah, no. I'd rather take the one that actually feels like a real character, with real motivations and a rich backstory. I'll take the one who can stand side by side with Richter in battle. The one who is both wonderful independent and connected with Richter.

She's flawed and angry. Filled with pride of her history and ancestry. Who is starting to realize that she might like this Richter Belmont fellow, despite his abrasive attitude. She sees herself in this handsome, arrogant, loyal vampire hunter. In him she sees a reflection of her fears and insecurities. In him she can see a way to beating back the threats that plague the land.

In each other, they see hope.

Richter's abilities return to him because he needs to protect her, along with Tera and Maria. In turn, Annette isn't alone in this fight. She is a woman of color, finding herself in a strange land with people who despise her just for her skin. But with Richter, Tera and Maria? She's not alone.

They see something in one another that is worth admiring.

And one day, perhaps, something worth loving.

The script for DXC varies a lot from RoB and while you can't really beat the anime charm of the latter, there's things I like from this iteration's dialogues too. This one in particular is a favorite of mine, I think it's silly in a cute sorta way.

(I especially love the delivery in Richter's correction of his name.)
