Major Arcana Development Questions - Open!

Angela's inner voice is a fairly easy one to decipher, although it's based a lot on what point in the timeline she's at. Anything before the ending of Library of Ruina, the closest approximation of an inner voice she has is her memories of Carmen, and Carmen's guidance. She herself is incapable of truly having an "inner" voice, but the voice she does hear guides her. The voice of the person that she failed to be, that she could never have been - ever supportive, ever guiding her toward the "One True Book."

Once the Library is outcast, however, the inner voice that takes Carmen's place is... Roland. Most of the time. A sign of the fact that she's come to stand as her own person, relying on the people around her - as opposed to leaning on the false pieces of her past that were used to judge her for what she isn't.

Rarely however... She hears the voice she wanted so desperately to acknowledge her for who she really was, as opposed to who she wasn't. The voice that, on that last day of the light spreading, she recalls hearing say...

"...Good job."

For Daemon, their inner voice is... Hard to parse. For a long time, it was still "Seth" that was their inner voice, a piece of their previous self still trying to guide them into doing what they would have once called the "correct" decision.

By the later days of Lobotomy Corporation, their inner voice was much closer to X/A's voice, haunting them in every action they did, casting judgement on every action. Criticizing their every hypocrisy - like blaming Gebura for losing control, when they them self snapped in a very similar fit of anger.

But now, as the Patron of Dimensional Sciences, one of the small handful of survivors from their original world with all that guilt weighing on them?

The inner voice they hear is their own, and it's the most crushing thing they can feel or hear. Every time they do something cruel or unkind, their voice inside questions why they did that - why they still behave in the way that they do, despite knowing that everyone around them has no idea of their history. It's the self that knows and recognizes their perceptions of relationships is heavily one-sided; a voice that questions why, after everything they've been through, they cannot act in the way that they think others should.

It's the voice that asks why they are cruel to Malkuth, when she has no idea what happened to make them that way. These people have no history with them, so why is it fair for them to force their history on them?

The voice asking the question is tired.

The voice asks why they even keep going.

The voice that knows it's their own self-loathing that drives them.

Dae usually doesn't say or do anything when someone's bothering them ONLY bc he knows when Carmen can handle the situation on her own. She doesn't like feeling reliant on anyone n he doesn't want to accidentally demean her in a situation she can handle

The only times when Dae will do something is if she asks him to step in or if he feels like something bad will happen if he doesn't
