The one downside of no longer being at war, and therefore no longer in constant danger, is simply that you are not allowed a violent outlet anymore.

If you keep things locked inside for long enough, eventually they all get to their boiling point— and usually, you’d put the fire out before the pot overflows.

Rodimus’ outlet had been much the same as anyone else’s. He’d killed his entire life, he’d known violence to be a nice way to let things out, and he had never truly expected to live past the point where killing is no longer acceptable.

There had been an attempt at adapting. Rodimus would say he’s good at that, adapting to his surroundings, allowing himself to bend to the mold, or force the mold to bend to him. It’s only due to unfortunate circumstances that Rodimus had never sticked around enough to watch the mold tear apart and break.

Deep breath in, hold, deep breath out. The ceiling to his hab is colored in yellows and oranges and pinks, like a sunset. He had tried to take up painting. He’d enjoyed it. He’d painted every single thing he could, tried to learn everything there was to learn, and when he realized he quite enjoyed the abstract, he tried to paint his whole hab, every time he burned it. There are parts missing to the paint: a cyberbird’s wings he couldn’t remember how they bent, a shape near the Rust Sea that looked too similar to a roommate he’d had in Nyon.

When burnout took him, he found it amazing to tear it all apart. To watch the dry paint crumble when he passed a knife through, to peel it all off with his fingers, to burn it and watch it melt.

Then, when that was done, he’d regret it. He’d curl up and curse, because he’d enjoyed painting this, or because now the memory of the roommate is forever engrained in the walls, Nyon’s buildings are once again burnt to nothing, the bird’s wings will never set flight again. Rodimus will think about Cybertron, and he will think about people who are gone, and of things he never got to see and closure he never quite got to have.

Rodimus will look for his bucket of paint, dig his hands in, and imagine that it is blood.

AU Incoming!

Oh oh oh I'm so excited to introduce this AU to yall! It came to me after reading some Au fanfiction where Branch is taken care of by one of his brothers wether they be with him wherever they are at or whether they go back home to care for him.

It occurred to me that I have yet(at least I haven't found any yet) to see any au's where Bruce is the caretaker and once that idea started I spiraled from there.

SO in this Au (officially titled Runaway!Au) Branch, having lasted 6 years (timeline later) with the pop trolls after escaping the troll tree, one night after an devastating incident, realized just how unwanted and unloved he was by the entire village(with the exception of a very very small few)(more on that later) and decided to runaway and find a new home a home where someone unwanted by everyone can live in peace.

He struggled through the forest for three years before an incident causes him to get washed away by a heavy lake current which knocks him unconscious, leaving him to drift through the waters.

The lake eventually leads to the ocean where he then drifts for days until he drfts close enough to vacay island to be found by some surfing Vacaytioners who take him onto the island to medical assistance.

Bruce is notified since he's like the only troll on the island right now and doesn't immediately recognize him(since he's gray and dirty af) with the aide of Bruce they care for Branch and eventually he wakes up, recognizes Bruce(calls him spruce tho), which causes it to click for Bruce who this trolling is and is distraught to see his baby brother in such horrible conditions and just like yall, is wondering what happened.

This leads to him eventually taking Branch in. 11 years after that we have reached the 1st movie and I'm gonna stop there. There's so much to tell before the 1st movie even happens and I'll share it all with yall!

So yea fun AU that I can't wait to develop more! If u have any questions about the AU feel free to ask me! I may or may not answer depending on what it is :3

While Robert Kirkman and friends have made it clear they have no immediate plans for characters outside of US G1 for now, I'm once again pondering what might be done in the near or far future with certain characters. Admittedly some of this is also because I know there are certain characters Earthspark won't touch for anything, even if they might have some use there, because Mae Catt was told she couldn't make them gay couples.

Anyway, my rambling will start with one character that was screwed over hard in IDW and really deserves more of a chance to shine, especially given how nice his Haslab and third-party figures are. I'll probably do this for other characters later. So let's start with the biggest victim of IDW's writing - Star Saber.

Star Saber is someone who got a REALLY bad look in IDW thanks to his characterization being based on the one from James Roberts's shitty fanfic, to the point Hasbro has essentially done an about-face with him everywhere else. Knowing that Hasbro won't return to the insane religious fundamentalist that he was mutilated into is already a relief. Still, there is something to the idea that if Optimus and presumably Rodimus aren't going to be gone for volumes at a time as the leader of the Autobots, there may be another role Star Saber can fit into in the Energon Universe.

Swordsman/Master of Metallikato -

One of the ideas in Transformers lore that has existed since the Furman run of the 1980s but has surprisingly never been elaborated on, even in IDW, was the idea of Metallikato. Metallikato is supposed to be a mysterious Cybertronian martial art thought lost to the ages, until the Decepticon Bludgeon began bragging to everyone within earshot that he was a master of the art, a combination of bare-handed fighting techniques and swordplay. While on occasion you get a Bot or Con who claims training in it, like Drft for example, it rarely gets elaborated on in any meaningful way.

Maybe it's my love of martial arts movies talking, but the idea of an ancient martial art in the tradition of kung fu movies being used to turn the tide of a civil war has a lot of potential. Star Saber being a master of Metallikato along with others, wondering if he should lend his blade to a partisan cause, only to find that bots like Bludgeon and Drift have made that choice for him. From there there's a ton of ideas that could sprawl from that, both sides wanting to train new Metallikato practitioners, the philosophical issues with lending a blade to a partisan cause, or the idea that a master would want power for themselves.

As an aside, if he were to show up in Earthspark, Saber training one of the Terrans in the mastery of Metallikato seems like it would be a pretty natural fit. Then again, considering what the rejected script with Drift looked like, I doubt they were entertaining such a notion.

The Single Dad in the galaxy -

While Star Wars may have abused the utter hell out of the framework of Lone Wolf and Cub since The Mandalorian became a hit (Bad Batch and Obi-Wan both try to replicate the core idea to much less success) one of the bigger parts of Star Saber's original characterization (which was ignored by IDW like everything else) was that he was essentially a father with an adopted child. A human child, named Jan.

The second episode of Transformers Victory actually has Star Saber doing paperwork to get Jan into a private school.

While, as noted before, the idea of a lone warrior traveling with a kid has been used a lot in recent years, there are definitely a lot of ways this could be taken that would be new to Transformers. The human element (or another alien if the EU goes that route) forcing Star Saber to interact with other people a lot more than he would have to otherwise. Hard to be the straight-laced, serious sword guy when you're worrying about your adopted kid being able to socialize with others and get an education. At the same time, there's definitely a lot of comedy to be milked out of such a setup. You just know the other Bots would groan whenever Saber shows pictures of his son.

The Super Robot Parody/Reconstruction -

Simon Furman, the quintessential Transformers writer guy, has been writing a lot of stuff for the mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars (and he also helped to write the script for the Earthspark game). In it, he has Star Saber as an active character, but as something of a worrywart/blowhard whose speeches about JUSTICE and other platitudes oftentimes rub his Autobot compatriots the wrong way. Then he fights and everyone is quickly reminded why he's the head instructor of the Autobot's War Academy.

As I mentioned in another post, the idea of a super robot parody is not one that Transformers has ever really dealt with despite having super robot elements in past shows, and Bang Brave Bang Bravern showing the potential of such a concept. Granted, I don't see Star Saber being nearly as...affectionate as Bravern can be, but the fact that Transformers hasn't played around with this parody concept outside of some flavor text in a mobile game few want to whale for is something that you think would have potential. Is he genuine about it or is this something he thinks is cool? How do the other Bots and Cons react? How do the humans? And what happens when they underestimate him and the end result has them lose to the weirdo?

Like I said before, I get not wanting to have the straight leader archetype if you're not planning to get rid of Optimus or Rodimus. But with the religious extremist angle having been rejected by just about everybody, there are ways to make Star Saber work in the Energon Universe and other animated material.

Well anyways.

The apocalypse began right when Sunny was about to move out of Faraway town but due to the roads being total CHAOS he wasn't able to get out, the virus apparently originated in a lab after a failed experiment.

A few days later, Sunny and everyone else in the gang (except Mari ofc) survived in Kel's house until they eventually find a safe place to be with other people.

Meanwhile, Hero visited Mari's grave to make sure she was still there and spend some time with her, until a zombie decided to attack him from behind, he shot it but it's blood spilled all over Mari's grave.

He cleaned the blood off and went home.

After a few weeks, they find a human resistance and they all decide to abandon the house.

Sunny gets distracted and separates from the group, going to a desolate mall where he'd eat pizzas with Kel before the end of the world.

After getting lost, a familiar face appears in the distance, skinny, pale and rotten, on it's feet.

It's limbs cracked each time it moved and it was moving towards Sunny.

It was indeed Mari, zombified, trying to get to her "son" after her memory got all messed up from the maggots eating her brain (doesn't really make sense but fuck it).

Sunny was frozen on the spot, looking at her until she got close to him and instead of harming him, she proceeds to hug him.

Sunny didn't know what to do but didn't do anything at all, he let her hug him and even felt some comfort in it, so he accepts it and feels happy that Mari knows who he is.

Sunny repressed everything that told him that Mari was dead, Mari even began to "teach" him how to communicate with zombies (xd) and even defend him from threats.

Aubrey then finds out about what was going on with Sunny and Mari also thought she was her daughter, Aubrey felt the same way Sunny did when she hugged her except she did know she was dead.

Happened the same thing to Basil and Kel after it was time for Hero to know about it, but he was already 20 years old and the others knew that he wasn't gonna react the same when he sees Mari standing before him after so long, and he was always carrying a shotgun with him.

Sunny is the one that spends most time with Mari, Mari even found him a hoodie that he never takes off.

Hero noticed how they were acting strange, looking behind them as if there was someone following them and he eventually asked what was going on, which would lead to more and more questions after Mari saw Hero, who Mari thought was her husband (so yeah she just thought she had a whole ass family already).

After Hero got all anxious because of her, Hero has a depressive episode again, confused and having a little bit of PTSD after seeing her, his mind flashed the same image of Mari hanging from the tree over and over again.

Mari wouldn't leave them alone so they couldn't get in the resistance bc ofc who would let a zombie in in a place made for keeping zombies away.

Idk what else to add, maybe I'll work on it later and do the designs and shit but eh have this.
