6: We have lots of in system couples. Our old host was really uncomfortable with them but since they split it’s been a lot easier. Mitch and Rose were the first but there’s lots of others. Beau and Billy, Nate and Bonez, Clover and Kc, the list goes on. Since realizing we could date each other, it’s kinda been going ham 😅

If you've ever told a person who's had to be bedbound for a period of time that you wish you could "just stay in bed", DO IT.

Stay in bed. For days. But don't get up if someone needs you to, or you get bored, or you get antsy. Don't do anything other than rest. Just lie in your bed, whether you need to get stuff done around the house or socialize or anything else "productive". You'll have to cancel on people, you'll disappoint them, they won't understand.

And if you're thinking, "well, i CAN'T just be in bed. There's stuff that has to be done - I have plans", maybe ask yourself why you assumed a disabled person doesn't have plans or things to do or desires.

It's like we all collectively forgot as a society that friendship and just connection in general takes effort. Even if you meet someone you immediately click with, it takes hanging out about 20 times (!) to become friends. And guess what, some of those 20 meetings might be awkward or unimpressive.

We all want to reap the benefits (having a friend circle, having a partner, getting married) without doing the work (going to events, interacting with people, learning to handle conflict maturely, dating). Myself included. If I could, I'd never leave the house or go on another mediocre date again... except, that's part of the process.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, the cure to the loneliness epidemic is touching some grass and building tolerance for tedious in-person interactions.

💙 - do you switch frequently or do you go longer periods between switching?

We switch a lot, and often struggle with documenting our front switches day-to-day but numerous headmates switch in daily to interact, though there's usually a specific fronter designated as a main fronter each day.

🎙️ - does the taste in music vary a lot between different alters?

The music taste fluctuates a decent amount. We have some mutual songs but they're different enough that the old host and I have entirely separate vent playlists and our youtube has dozens of general playlists with all sorts of different genres.

🍡 - are different alters part of different subcultures? which ones? (we are!)

I'm going to be totally honest in saying that subculture is a new term for me, but I'm going to give the answer like it says subsystem because I'm not exactly sure what a subculture in DID would look like. None of this is meant to be sarcastic, and I'm happy if I have it wrong to corrected and own that.

And as far as subsystems go, we do! We're only recently learning a number of the subsystems we have, but we have 5 Lucifer based alters in a subsystem. They're more individual than some of our other subsystems. That group is Patch, Lou, Bash, Erin, and a token just Lucifer in pop culture fictives.

And then we have the 20-something different varieties of Steve Rogers fictives (fragments?) just to name a couple.

Most of the fronting alters are really fixated on our job (barista) and The Magnus Archives, especially now that The Magnus Protocol is being made (with 3 new seasons!!!!)

frankly, the people whose kneejerk reaction to bisan asking for a global strike form the 21st-28th is to say that it takes years to organize a general strike are really unhelpful! no one is saying otherwise, but palestine will be a smoking crater if we all wait for years to do anything - bisan is asking us to do something now. Like are we only supposed to do something if we can do it perfectly??? At some point it’s a valid critique about the work that goes into social movement, and at another point I feel like some people are just trying to absolve themselves from not putting any effort into observing a week of economic inaction.

like idk! I get it, okay! People have bills to pay that don’t magically go away for a strike, we don’t have nearly enough social infrastructure in place to support people to fully stop going to work for a week. But fuck, dude! Stop immediately responding in such a defeatist way! Cut out unnecessary purchases! Try to shop local! Put more effort into promoting Palestinian voices online! Attend a protest, call a local rep, do something!
