Oh my God YES (Mostly Reed900 and Simarkus :D)

The first fic I'll always recommend to everyone is Leading By Example by Kurana. It's hands down the best Simarkus fic I've ever read, and one of the best fics I've ever read in general. It's got fake relationship to lovers, mutual pining, sharing a bed, emotional intimacy, good North content, dad Carl, even some minor dad Hank in the background, and a cool plot with Kamski that interprets his character a bit differently than I would but is just as fascinating and intriguing. I love it so much and it makes me feel emotions I didn't know I had. I still cry everytime I read it.

White Lilac by WritingIsMyCoffee - This has LOTS of Dad Hank/Anderson Fam content, which is why I read it in the first place. It's kinda Chloe x Connor centric, which I don't ship but I didn't mind it, and it was cute for the story. There's background Simarkus and developing Reed900. Very angsty, but has a happy ending.

From now on forever by KaterinaSentByCyberLife, if you like wedding fluff (I usually don’t, but this one is so good). Reed900, background Simarkus, and Dad Hank, it’s beautiful I love it a lot

Interstellar Methods of Love and Murder by wordscavenger. It's Simarkus and Reed900, and an AU fic. idk what the AU is exactly but they're gay and in space, shit goes down, and they have to stop it. It's got a super cool plot and the pining is real. I love it. Also has funny RK bros shenanigans.

and the secret garden bloomed and bloomed by farouche. It's a beautiful modern AU Simarkus fic and also Simon works in a flower shop and Markus is an artist who's drawn to him. There's also some funny Daniel and Simon being brothers content.

Heavenly Bodies by raphae11e - Simarkus canon compliant AU, everything's the same except the revolution lasts several months rather than a week, and there's so much mutual pining.

welcome to hell by honeybvnches. It’s like a texting fic and it is hilarious, it’s Simarkus with background Chloenorth and Reed900

Turning the Tide by LupoLight and He's My Partner by LupoLight. They’re not related fics but I like them both a lot.

Nines is Nefarious by AndroidTrash800. It's a Reed900 Dexter AU (basically, serial killer with morals) and it's amazing. It's also funny and angsty but with a beautiful happy ending. Also Dad Hank <3

Time in a Tree and The Last Romance by SunshineHead. It's a two part series and it's so sad and sweet and ofc it has a happy ending bc I can't do angst without a happy ending but it def made me tear up. More Dad Hank <3 (Nines is called Conan in this series but I just downloaded it as an epub, opened it through the Calibre e-book editor, and used the find and replace feature to replace every instance of "Conan" with "Nines" bc I can't read him with a different name djfhsj)

GRIND ME DOWN by @texssins (texs_sins on ao3). I was expecting smut with casual plot and got blindsided by some excellent angst. There's also a twist that I SHOULD have seen coming but definitely didn't and it was awesome.

And of course, last but certainly not least, I have to recommend Adapt and Endure (the fic and the comic) by @aydaptic. It's a staple Reed900 fic. The second part - Liberosis - is great as well.

My DBH headcanon(s)

So I recently received DBH as a gift, after years of being obsessed with this game, lol AND, so I thought, why not share my post game headcanon(s) here. Just to be clear, I will base my head cannon after the peaceful revolution ending.

This is a(n incomplete) list of all of my HCs !

1st HC : Connor’s siblings

I like to think that after the revolution, Connor will go back to the cyberlife tower and then discover several things: first off, in a rush, most remaining androids were destroyed, including all of his “replacements”. But, in one way or another, he will find an abandoned android that look like him. A forgotten project, if you will: RK900. The project wasn’t 100% finished, resulting in RK900 having issues; mostly sort of seizures and other problems in direct or indirect links. (I still hesitate to HC him as mute, not sure, though it is a nice concept)

In my head cannon, RK900 is like we see in the Machine Connor ending, where he replaces Connor. His name is Nines (given by Gavin, though people always call him Niles instead, assuming a typo or mispronunciation). Though, they can be differenced, especially because their personalities are very different. Connor is a puppy. Nines is a raven.

Another surprise, Connor find Connor-60 still alive. Hank had sloppily shot him right in the right-eye, effectively knocking him out for quite a long time. Maybe another bio-component was broken that led him to be knocked out for so long. Any way, he’s alive and not deviated yet, but luckily, Connor does that for him.

At first, everybody at the DPD had a hard time differentiating the two Connor, if they weren’t face to face with them. The only different was Connor-60 had a quite big scar from the bullet wound, and a permanent decolourized pupil/optical bio-component. Connor-60 slowly started to hate his name and thus opted for being called Conan (and it’s easier to know which is being called). Hank and him still have an iffy relationship, and he prefers Sumo’s company. He also joined the SWAT team. IDK, it just suits him (Captain Allen is sceptical at first, though he sees how Conan has potential) Of course, their personality is quite different. Thanks, deviancy. While Connor is a puppy as previously stated, Conan is very cold and quiet. He’s still very much like Connor’s initial personality when he hasn’t deviated yet.

They all live in Hank’s house, but it’s quite small for 4 people and a dog. That’s why Hank is secretly searching for a bigger house. Nines wants to get his own house, though, but Conan wants to stay. Who’s going to rightfully spoil Sumo if he isn’t here, after all?

Also, Hank is 100% their dad now. Go away hankcon shipper cuz this relationship is 100% father & son(s).

On a (not so) unrelated, note, Hank’s mental health also improved, as his sons really do take care of him. He still does get drunk from time to time, especially after a hard day, but it happens less and less.

2nd HC : The C-bling’s (pun intended) fashion senses.

Connor’s fashion sense:

He got that fashion sense from Hank’s own wardrobe, but with his own twist. Colourful opened flannel with usual neutral shirt under it, dress pants & shoes. Though, he recently developed a taste for ripped jeans. If he doesn’t wear his colourful flannels, then patterned sweatshirts are his must-go. Music band names? Sure. Sweatshirts with dumb jokes like: “Who needs hair on a body like this?” ? Yes. Prints like houndstooth, waves, or simply bicolour? Why not !

Conan’s fashion sense:

He doesn’t really care for such things. He’d happily keep the clothes provided by Cyberlife if it wasn’t ruined by his Thirium and very taboo for free androids!! To keep wearing such garments. So, he’d resort to any shirt found and pants, though he usually has jeans. He also has grown attached to his SWAT sweatshirt and can often be seen around the DPD wearing it. The colours are kept neutral: different shades of grey and black, very little white.

Nines’ fashion sense:

Having been deviated recently with no memory beforehand, Nines hasn’t got the chance to really explore himself. Perhaps he’s too scared for that, perhaps he’s too busy for that. So, his usual go-tos are buttoned-up shirts, or turtlenecks. He does appreciate long coats to go with everything. Like Connor, he prefers wearing dress pants. His palette is still neutral, but perhaps a bit more colourful than Conan’s: white (esp for coats. It reminds him of his Cyberlife jacket), black, grey, and if he’s feeling like it, deep blue, emerald or dark green, crimson or dark brown.

3rd HC : Nines and Gavin

Yes, I ship them. Yes, Gavin is an asshole. Yes, it is because he has issues. Luckily, Nines also has issues and is having none of his partner’s shit. Their relation get better with time passing, and their “I’m going to kill you before you kill me” slowly morphs into playful banter and inside jokes.

That’s all i can think of for now.

a little!!! i want to write more but i lost my confidence lol. i mostly have a bunch of unposted snippets on various devices of stories i wanted to do.

"W-what...?" [Name] had quietly muttered to himself as he looked at the scene in front of him. The [Hair color] haired male then inhaled and closed his eyes, opening them as he then let out a deep sigh. "Okay, Conan, my love?" [Name] had started with a sickly sweet smile that immediately turned into a deadpanned expression. "What the fuck did you do?" The android merely dropped a certain brunet detective on the floor and fixed himself up. Dusting imaginary dust off of his white and black uniform and then walked towards his [Hair color] haired partner, purposely stepping on the beaten detective's body in the process which made Gavin let out a grunt of pain.

As the android stood next to his [Hair color] haired partner, [Name] still continued to look at the brunet android blankly. He would briefly look at Gavin's beat up body on the floor from time to time but his blank gaze would often land at the android who didn't seemed faze on what he had done.

After awhile, the [Hair color] haired male asked again. "Conan, I'm going to ask you again, okay?" [Name] had said as the android nodded his head. A bit confused on [Name]'s odd behavior as his LED flashed yellow for a second then back to its original blue hue. Already gotten a signal to continue, [Name] breathed in and out as he closed his eyes to calm himself. He forced a smile on his face as he then opened his eyes again, his [Eye color] eyes held annoyance on them.

"WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU DO THAT TO REED?!?" The [Hair color] haired male had asked, a bit frustration and annoyance can be detected on his tone as he pointed at the unconscious detective at the floor. Conan took a moment to process what his partner had said, but as soon as he had processed it, he immediately answered while directing his grey colored eyes blankly at [Name], that made the [Hair color] haired male more annoyed. "Pure spite."

"Spite?!? Conan that isn't a valid reason to beat the shit outta the guy!" [Name] had said as he slammed the palm of his hand on his forehead, he then began to rubbed his temple as he could already feel the headache of Fowler screaming at him again. Letting out a deep sigh as he looked at Gavin then a Conan. Muttering curses underneathe his breathe as he then raised both of his arms up in a sutrender manner.

"You know what? Fuck it." [Name] said in defeat as he turned around and began walking away from the break room of the precinct, grey colored eye following his movements. "I'm too fucking tired for this shit right now." The [Hair color] haired male had said as he fully exited the room, leaving the android and a beaten up detective.

Conan stood stiffly on where he was as he stared at the direction his [Hair color] haired partner exited. The brunet android then turned his gaze towards the beaten up detective who was still on the floor, passed out. An annoyed sigh left the android lips as he was about to walk towards the coffee machine to make his partner a cup of warm coffee that the brunet android knew the [Hair color] haited male was about to make before he abruptly left minuted ago. As Conan was about to make the [Hair color] haired male's coffee, he had paused when the android had heard someone coming into the break room.

"Conan, may I ask on why was [Name] looked so ann--" The older android model's sentence slowly died down as his brown eyes fixated at the knocked out body of Gavin on the floor. "Oh..." Connor muttered to himself as he had came to a realization on why the [Hair color] haired male looked absolutely annoyed and so done. More so than usual. "I... I see now..." Connor had said to himself as he stared at the brunet detective's body then at his brother.

At first, the older android thought it was because the [Hair color] was too tired and didn't have gotten his coffee, the male was always grumpy without his coffee every morning. But then, Connor had remembered Gavin was inside the break room aswell when he had passed by, then he theorized that maybe Gavin had annoyed [Name] again as it was no surprising in the precinct that the two males were at each others throats despite being friends for years, but finding out [Name]'s annoyance was because of his little brother who beat the shit outta the brunet detective and just shrugged it off, Connor finally gotten why [Name]'s words the detective had told the android a few days ago. "No wonder he's always tired..." Connor had muttered as he watched Conan made the [Hair color] haired male his coffee.

It was quiet for awhile until the older android awkwardly cleared his throat, gaining the attention to the younger one. "So... Why did you beat Detective Reed up?" Connor had questioned as he briefly looked at Gavin's unconscious body then back towards the grey eyed android. "In pure spite." Conan had said as he saw the older android frowned. Eyebrows furrowed as Connor's LED swirled to yellow. "But that is not a valid reason to beat anyone..." Connor had said with confusion evident on his tone.

"That was what Detective [Last name] had said aswell." Conan had piped as he waited for the machine to finish heating the coffee he brewed. "Although he had said it a bit more vulgarly." The grey eyed android had continued as he momentarily looked at the older android then back to the coffee machine. "That's Mr. [Last name], I suppose..." Connor had muttered as he walked towards the younger android, avoiding on stepping at Gavin's unconscious form as he did.

"So, how's your day so far, Conan?" Connor had started as he waited patiently for Conan to finish making his partner's coffee, wanting to have some small talk with his younger brother who was still new to deviancy and emotions. The younger android briefly looked at the older android then went back to pouring the steaming brewed coffee on two of the many styro cups provided by the precinct, answering Connor's question. "It is pleasant, so far." The grey eyed android had said as he put the pot back and then looked at Connor. "How about your--"

"Alright, who the fuck pissed Mr. Sunshine and where's my coffee Conn-- what the fuck happened here???" Hank, who had abruptly went inside the break room and cut off Conan questioned as he looked at the unconscious body of Gavin's then at the two android who was having a conversation with each other like this shit was normal to them. The older male took a full minute to gather his head on what might have happened until it clicked to him and he began to laughed. "Who was the one Reed had pissed to get him a full on make out with the floor?" The older man had questioned as he looked amused at the scene in front of him.

The two androids looked at each other for a second until Conan had answered Hank's question. "It was me. Although Detective Reed is not "making out" with the floor." The younger android had blankly said as Hank hummed at his answer. "So why beat him up?" Hank had said as he continued, not bothering to explain on the "making out with floor" part to the android as he knows fully well it would only lead to nothing but more pain to explain it to them. "I know the guy's an asshole but why knock the shut outta him out?" The older male had said as he looked at the androids. He cackled when he heard the younger android's answer. "Oh Lord-- Conan please never change!" Hank had said through his laughs. The android's answer really made his day. Just like what Conan had said to his partner and Connor, "Pure spite."

Tears brimmed on the older male's eyes as he wiped them, still laughing as he nodded his head. "That's a valid reason there." Hank had praised the younger android's reason that caused both the android's LED to flashed yellow. One showed concern and confusion while the other showed a hint of happiness. Connor furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at Hank with confusion written on his face. "But Hank, beating someone up in pure spite is not a va--" Connor was cut off by the younger android's voice.

"Thank you, Lieutenant Anderson." Conan had said towards the older male who grunted yet nodded his head. Not minding on cutting of his older brother as he took both of the warm styro cup, handing one of the cups to the older android who took it and sent the younger a grateful smile, and two small packets of sugar to give it to his [Hair color] haired partner and a teaspoon.

Conan sent both males a nod as he began walking towards the exit of the break room. "Now, if you both excuse me but I must get back to my partner now." The younger android had said as he walked away, carrying the coffee, packet and a teaspoon.

The older android slowly walked towards the older male as both Hank and Connor followed the grey eyed android's form until he was out of their sight. Connor stopped beside Hank as he handed the older male the styro cup filled with warm coffee the younger android had made. "Thanks." Hank had said as he took the cup and raised it towards his mouth, blowing at it for a few seconds until he drank the coffee. Letting out a small hum as drank the coffee. Hank looked back to see Gavin's body was still on the floor, knocked out. The older male let out another laugh as he muttered his amusement.

"Um..." The two turned to the entrance of the break room to see an android that looked like the android beside the older male. Confusion written on his face as the android had noticed the brunet detective's body behind them. "Why's Detective Reed on the floor... Knocked out?" Connil asked as he furrowed his eyebrows. "Your little brother knocked the shit outta him with a clever reason." Hank had said as he sipped on his coffee again.

"Hank?" The other android called out as the older male had stopped muttering and turned to look at brunet android, the older male immediately noticed Connor's LED was glowing yellow. Connor's eyebrows furrowed at he had briefly looked at the brunet detective's knock out body then back to the older male. "But knocking someone out in "pure spite" isn't a valid reason..." Connor had said as the other android seemed to be quite surprised at what the other had said. Quietly questioning what had happened and what he had missed.

The older male merely rolled his eyes at what Connor had said as he drank his coffee again. Hank looked directly at the android in the eye as he answered him. "If it's Gavin, it is." Hank had said as he watched both the androids LED switched to yellow and red.

I needed to write this. I really need to work on my essay though...

It was an old song. A few decades old, but it still held praise among the admirers for the classics. The 90’s beat definitely caught (Y/N) and had her move to the rhythm without a lick of shame.

Hank found some old albums, in boxes that were sitting around in his basement, and offered them up to (Y/N). She’d been a fan of R&B for three years, a former co-worker from her Chicago Precinct introduced her to the genre. And she was hooked ever since.

Hank’s ex-wife was a fan too, and he was eager to get rid of the albums.

“Are you sure I can have these…?”

“Only time I’m offerin’. Either you take ‘em or I can find some schmuck to buy ‘em off me.”

Of course she’d take them! How could she refuse? That evening, (Y/N) and Nines headed back home with her lovely prize tucked in her bag. And that same night she discovered her obsession for the next week. Not that Nines was complaining, it improved her general mood for a long while. She was running on a musical high and kept riding it with a grin on her face. Day and Night.

She had a bounce in her step, humming along to the lyrics whether it was through earphones or in her head. Nines had heard it enough in one hour to know the lyrics by heart-of course, he already knew them when he searched the song beforehand but...

When I'm walkin' with you I watch the whole room change

He could hear the words coming from (Y/N)’s earphones, while she sat at her desk. There was a smile on her face as her head bobbed to the beat, she finished up her paperwork in record time and jumped up from her seat. Hank and Connor glanced up from their own desktops when she stopped by.

“Yo, I got my part finished. I already sent it, so you can look it over you want.”

(Y/N) blushed, but instead of shrinking in embarrassment her smile brightened even more. She scratched the back of her head with a chuckle.

“I can’t help it, surprised I didn’t find this myself sooner.”

Later that night when they got home, (Y/N) hooked her phone up to her stereo and played the song throughout their apartment. After her shower, she got into the kitchen and cooked dinner while Nines tried to work on his laptop.

His eyes drifted from the screen to her vibrant form, dancing around and her hips swerve. He smirked at (Y/N)’s brazen moves and abandoned his work, deciding to enjoy the show.

Her dance was abruptly interrupted as she slipped, she latched onto the counter and leaned against it relieved. (Y/N) glanced over at Nines, knowing he was in the kitchen with her and froze under his gaze that looked her up and down. His eyes locked with hers and a grin decorated his features.

She averted her eyes for a split second before beaming confidently, disregarding her rosy cheeks.
