Are alts usually taken from previous recordings or do they get re-recorded. I always assumed the former, but Tsukasa's Neo alt was so obviously different I started wondering if I just had undiscerning ears and missed the differences in other alts

So when comms and covers are recorded, they are recorded in full individually, then mixed together (and cut down for the game). In most instances, alts are literally just the full uncut audio from whoever is singing. Aside from two instances afaik. Tsukasa's NEO is notably pitched lower than the normal version to account for it being out of Daichan's range (im guessing he only recorded the parts Tsukasa sung in for the full version). The Tsukasa/Nene 88☆彡 another vocal also uses a different recording for Tsukasa. I genuinely do not know why. There wasn't really any reason for it be rerecorded especially since Nene keeps all the high notes so it's not like any of that had to be done in a second take. Honestly the rerecording sounds pretty rough so I wonder if might not be rerecorded at all and actually be a scrapped take that was accidentally reused? No clue.

Additionally, Akito's parts were rerecorded for the 2024 April Fools version of Akuma no Odorikata but that's not an alt so you don't have to count it.

in some ways i think kohane going from having a soft and shy singing voice to having Akina's normal voice is a good way to show her development, but i also don't like that she's just akina now. what happened to Kohane.

i cant stop thinking about the hinata family dog which is a golden retriever :D his name is diamond, he's aki's dog first and foremost but he's also the family doggo hehe ><

i just wanted to say that aki babytalks to his dog. almost all the time, so does kai but every now and then she pulls out the serious voice and talks to the dog like he could understand what she was saying

"daichan, i'm going to leave and buy some food. you watch over hina and don't—don't let him play the episode without me, okay?" daichan barks, a cute affirmative noise and sat beside aki the entire time.

the cousins call daichan with all the petnames that people actually mistake daichan (when he is not in frame) for a child or their lover.

aki loves calling him "baby" and kai goes the extra mile and calls him "my love"

note: daichan is short for Diamond. Note note: Aki was young when they got the dog. Cut him some slack.

Momoe was nothing like her sisters think of her. To Jun, she's a very caring and gentle person. She wouldn't say that because of being Momoe's best friend, she would say it even if she weren't that close to each other.

She wouldn't have to seek someone like that for that longer, right? Because... Isn't this person just Momoe after all?

But then, bossy and snotty? Those didn't match at all! Oh boy, Momoe wouldn't like her in the romantic way, right?

Her sweet, innocent Jun-chan didn't notice. Momoe could always trust her on giving her the time she needed, even if unknowingly.

"Who says Chizuru and Miyako are nice to me? Chizuru keeps playing pranks on me and all Miyako does is complain after all I do for her. Mom and dad trust me with basically raising them since I was small and they still think I'm controlling!"

"My little sisters are ungrateful too, Jun-chan. The only difference is that they're not as brash as Daisuke-kun. But that's just who he is, don't take it personally. You're so much more than what your little brother says to get on your nerves."

So there are actually quite a few age gap romances in BL but hmmm this one is a little difficult for me because there are a couple that I really really love. I like the idea of the May/Decmber trope being not only a significant age gap but also two people in very different stages of their lives, so as much as I love Wataru and Daichan I feel like they are both settled, domestic, and while generationally different, they are both working adults. 

I think I want to actually throw this to 

Fan Ze Rui and Bai Zong Yi, Kiseki: Dear to Me 

What I appreciate with their relationship is that unlike some of the other May/December relationships, they meet when they are relatively older. What I mean by this is that Lian and Kuea from Cutie Pie grew up together, Wataru has known Daichan since he was twelve. Bai Zong Yi meets Fan Ze Rui when he is 17, in what I would call a truly unhinged first contact. I loved watching their relationship develop from utter annoyance to tolerance to friendship and then to love. I think what I love about this relationship is that there is a clear attraction between them for awhile, but Fan Rui is trying to be responsible. He knows Bai Zong Yi is a minor, he has a dangerous lifestyle, sure he definitely wants to be with Bai Zong Yi but he is not trying to encourage Bai Zong Yi’s feelings for him, even if they are reciprocated. 

Part of why I am choosing these two is a) because the tension in Fan Rui knowing that this relationship is not responsible and Bai Zong Yi’s clear and obvious interest in him creates one of my favorite first kiss acting moments and b) because I think Kiseki actually managed to handle this relationship responsibly by having Bai Zong Yi be the pursuer, by having Fan Rui try to distance, by having Bai Zong Yi initiate. 

Their reunion scene was beautiful and that lap sit during their first kiss was smooth as butter.

IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT. IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT. IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT, AND I FEEL FINE. 

What an incredible example of a forced proximity second chance romance with such fucked up relation dynamics that I absolutely got to obsessed over. I mean, be honest, how many shows do you see where your characters are forced together on a road trip to try to get their recently acquired, superhero seventeen year old child back to his family before the world is destroyed by a giant meteor? This plot sounds ridiculous, and it is, and yet the character dynamics are so compelling, and there is an incredible emotional core that operates throughout. Good job!
