In what universe can someone fall 3 floors and hit his head, remain unconscious for 20 plus minutes, finally wake up with a bleeding head wound and an obvious significant concussion since he can’t walk straight and STILL not be taken to a medical facility for some aftercare? His subconscious wants someone to notice he’s not ok and to intervene do something about it (“I’m worried he’s having a psychotic break.”) This poor, beautiful, broken baby. I refuse to believe that he didn’t go to a hospital to get checked out. I mean, it had to happen somewhere between the arrest of the old dude and the scene in the precinct. But, like all the OTHER episodes this season, it just happened off camera and we didn’t get to see it.

Which is my main complaint with this season. I mean, COME ON. Anybody can see this show has attracted a metric ton of whumpers. We like whump. We like aftercare. We like rescues and concerned loved ones and realistic after effects. We’re not getting ANY of that this season. They’re like “we can leave out Bright almost dying of asphyxiation right in front of Dani and Gil” and “we can just... let the audience assume things turned out okay here” and “we can just allude to three days locked in a closet and not really show much of it, right?” and I just don’t even understand why they’re making these decisions when the fans they’ve attracted are basically sitting here like “actually you could make an entire episode of JUST those things and we’d love it”.

AND DON’T GET ME STARTED ON THE WAY THEY’VE COMPLETELY ABANDONED THE ADORABLE “WHAT DOES JT STAND FOR” TROPE THEY STARTED AND KEPT GOING ALL THROUGH SEASON 1.

I’M SO FUCKING MAD.

But that said, Brightwell is alive and well. Malcolm Bright loves Dani Powell and wants to be with her and wants to marry her and wants to be the best person she knows and wake up with her in the morning and have sweet couch cuddles and kisses with her and I’m alive, so that’s good.
