Jack's list of Various Omega Red Media

Beneath all the murder, the bloodshed, the Soviet State intervention, and the medical malpractice, I really like Omega Red and I find him to be such and intriguing character; if not, in the least, quite the illusive one.
Marvel has never really given him a proper origin story, nor have they fleshed out his background like they have for other villains (like our boy Sabretooth). We don't really know all too much about him and his past apart from the few bits and pieces dropped here and there throughout his very scattered appearances. Even then, there are still some contradictions in the little we do have about him, so good luck with piecing together his past lol.
Regardless, I hope this list can at least give a glimpse into Arkady Rossovich as a character, and how he has been written and portrayed by the various writer throughout his 30 years of existence :)
— Comics —
So! We start with the comics! I'm going to try and place these in a roughly chronological order, but some of it gets a little hard to place timeline wise. This is also by no means a wholly comprehensive list, but I thought I'd highlight some of the more prominent ones I like and let you go from there!
X-Men (1991) #4-#7 Omega Red makes his first ever comic book appearance, yippee! These comics officially introduced Omega Red and his powerset, a well as his history with Wolverine, Sabretooth, and Maverick during their time as CIA operatives.
X-Men (1991) #17-19 Enter, the Soul Skinner! This little ark isn't too widely talked about (at least where I am), but I find this to be an intriguing one nevertheless, especially in it's regards to Omega Red. With a mutant that is terrorizing an isolated Siberian town, the Russian Government sends Omega Red to investigate. Turns out Omega is just as vulnerable to his psychic powers as the rest of the village, and he Soul Skinner ends up mind-controlling and manipulating Arkady into fighting the X-Men when they arrive to help.
Maverick: In the Shadow of Death (1997) This little one-shot is about as close to a 90’s followup to Omega Red’s debut as you can get. Focusing almost entirely on Maverick, Omega Red, and John Wraith, this little comic does a decent job at trying to explain his mutant death factor and his motivations for all of his killings, as well as using the words “carbonadium synthesizer” and “mutant death factor” more that was probably necessary. (also John Wraith gets to use a bazooka and i think that's fun. they need to let him do that more often lol)
*Iron Man (1968) #295-#297 Another one of his earliest appearances. Being such a new character, there is, sadly, not too much to him here. BUT it does establish the character of Olinka Barankova, Arkady's creator and someone who remains an important figure to his history.
*Cable (1993) #9-#11 This ark gives us some very good insight on how Arkady views himself, especially during the early period after which he was unfrozen in the modern day.
*Generation X (1994) #10 and #11 Arkady attacks Emma and Banshee’s little team in the present, while Banshee has flashbacks to his time as an Interpol agent, when he chased down and arrested Arkady BEFORE he went through the Carbonadium bonding process.
Wolverine (1988) #170, #173-#175 Here he shows up, working alongside Lady Deathstrike for Sabretooth.
Wolverine: Origins (2006) #6-#10, and #36-#40 I have not read all of this run yet, so I cannot speak too much on it. Only that showing up briefly in issues #6-10, Omega is mostly there as a back ground antagonist. And, come issues #36-#40, he reappears to be killed off.
X-Men Gold (2017) #9-#11 To Quote the Stone Roses, "I am the resurrection and I am the life". The ones in which Arkady gets his ass resurrected, yay! Can't say much on the run itself, but I'm mainly mentioning it to help place the status of Omega Red, so that you are not left questioning why on earth he's suddenly alive the next time he appears :/
Weapon X (2017) #17-#27 With Sabretooth newly leading Weapon X, he ends up being lured and dragged away by Omega Red during a mission. After a good amount of back and forth and a lot of bloodshed, Creed ends up offering Arkady a chance at redemption from all of the Soviet medical malpractice and lack of autonomy he's been put through at the hands of S.I.C.K.L.E. Accepting the offer, Arkady ends up joining Creed's X-Force in defeating S.I.C.K.L.E.'s Director, Vassily Rossovich.
Now I feel like I need that Gordon Ramsey meme with the "finally some good fucking food" text. These issues, especially #17-#21, are some of the best for Omega red and his characterization. Hands down. As well, this is technically the first time we every get to see him be a “good guy” of sorts, and joining Sabretooth’s version of Weapon X/X-Force for the rest of the comics' run.
Now, this brings us to the Krakoa era! There is quite a bit, so bare with me. Outside of his prominent presence in the X-Lives of Wolverine special, his appearances are very sporadic and a little hard to follow, though you'll usually find him kicking around in both Wolverine or X-Force. I will also admit that I am NOT up to date with all of the krakoa era stuff, so there may have been a good few comics in which I've missed.
His Krakoa appearances, in order (that I can remember) are:
Wolverine #1, Wolverine #4, X-Force #12, X-Force #15, Wolverine #8, Wolverine #11-#12, all five issues of X-Lives of Wolverine, X-Force #27-Present, and Wolverine #26-#27
* Lastly, there is also this website you can check out for finding all of Omega Red's comic book appearances in chronological order. I will admit, I found this a hard list to start with because it can very easily get overwhelming from the sheer amount of stuff to it. But then again, I'm not your boss, and if you want to got combing through every last little bit of Arkady's appearances, then by all means go hog wild and check it out! for yourself :)
— The Animated Series —
I thought I would add Arkady's appearances in the Animated series for the sole purpose of verity. He is in no way a major occurrence, but when he gets his spot light, I feel that he shines like like hell.
"Red Dawn" S2 Ep.4 Outside of a very brief flash of his face seen in Sabertooth's flashbacks during the S1 Ep.4 "Deadly Reunions", this episode is Omega's first real and proper appearance, as well as his introduction into the animated show. Having been resurrected by some radical Generals looking to reclaim and reform the Soviet Union, Arkady wrecks havoc on the Republic's capital and ultimately tuns on the Generals to try overthrowing the Russian Parliament and take control of the Soviet Union for himself.
"A Deal With the Devil" S4 Ep.2 Arkady gets his ass unfrozen by the American government to clean up the remains of a Soviet submarine filled with nuclear war heads off the Hawaii coast. This episode really showcases his cunning and his drive for self determination, even as he drags Wolverine and Storm kicking and screaming into his evil plot to nuke the world.
"Weapon X, Lies and Video Tapes" S4 Ep.16 Not much to mention of Arkady here, but he does shows up in flash backs to the Weapon X Mission where they were tasked with retrieving the C-Synth.
— Fanfiction —
Yes, I am recommending fanfiction, sue me. But honestly, although fanfiction is fanfiction and "rrraaagh Not Canon Material™!!! >:(", I still wanted to honourably mention the work of Soviet_Supersoldier's Living Weapon, Living Computer and a touch of Luck on ao3. It is, as they describe, "A behind-the-scenes journey through the 2019 X-Force and Wolverine series."
With passionate dedication to weaving together the gaps of the sporadic appearances of Omega Red through the Krakoa Era, and to giving characters outside of Wolverine their due, I find this work to be a lovingly crafted case study of Arkady, Sage, Neena, and other non-titular characters we see in the Krakoa Era. I will happily pour my heart out for this work, even if it one day bleeds me dry.

Disney emphasizes visually impaired character’s blindness is from internalized ableism
Despite Jace's projections of his internal ableism on people during a fire drill, when Jace is struggling, John (a jock he previously antagonized) guides him out of school during a fire drill after he has lost his cane and begs for help. It is emotional because it shows how his disability affects everyday tasks. This demonstrates Jace's need for support, whether he wants it or not. He is not the visually impaired superhuman. He is a typical flawed, stubborn teenager.
The internal ableism Jace is projecting onto wrestling culminates after Jace angrily insists he's not a "charity case" and shouldn't be kept around for the "freak factor" on the team. The coach says,
"Now you listen, and you listen good. If you wanna think of yourself as a freak, go ahead. What I see  is a kid who's worked his tail off and earned his spot." 
Next, the coach confronts Jace's projection that he is treated "special" because of his disability. He lacks faith in other people to believe he is like everyone else. Again a projection of himself. That characterization is subtle and pleasing.  
Jace's character moves quickly from stubborn and self-centered to sensitive and romantic toward Mary Beth.
No film about a blind person is complete without a face-touching scene. 
This sudden romance is unexpected, given how much of a jerk Jace is to everyone. "Authors go so far as to convert the sense of touch into that of sight, for the blind stripling has "fingers" that "must almost see" (Joyce, 1922/1998, p. 173). This fixation on the sense of touch leads to the stereotype of touching faces. Audio descriptions of people are more useful and only sometimes necessary. 
The touching of faces trope depends on sighted people's want to fulfill the sense they would be missing and accustomed to. 
Disabled people adapt to their circumstances individually and cannot be so easily categorized. There is a scene where John reveals wrestling is "all his identity." Unlike Jace, he doesn't "have music." This reminds the audience that 
Jace joined the wrestling team to be like everyone else, not because he is passionate about it. 
He could pursue a musical passion that coincided with a stereotype or "fit in." By becoming a jock. He chooses the latter, which reinforces his belief he's not like other blind people. Comparing the stereotypes of visually impaired people to reality, Bolt concludes, "People with Impaired Vision is no better than the overtly negative formation, for either way an object position is being defined, the subject position is necessarily held by someone with unimpaired vision. Indeed,  beneficial blindness only benefits prejudiced people who wish to maintain the binary logic of 'the blind' and 'the sighted,' them and us." (Bolt, 27)

MUĞLA (İGFA) – Bu yıl da “Avrupa’nın en seçkin festivalleri EFFE2025” ödüllüne layık görülen Gümüşlük Müzik Festivali, Macar – Türk ikilisinin açılış konseriyle kapılarını müzikseverlere açtı. Bu yıl 21. yılını kutlayan festivalin açılış törenine ve hemen ardından gerçekleşen Baráti & Bilgin ikilisinin konserine, Bodrum’un tanınmış simaları ve sanatseverler katıldı.

KRİSTÓF BARÁTİ VE TUNA BİLGİN KONSERİNE YOĞUN İLGİ 
25 asırlık Antik Taş Ocağı’nda “Taşta” başlığı ile düzenlenen konserlerin ilkinde, Macar kemancı Kristóf Baráti ve Türk piyanist Tuna Bilgin, izleyiciye unutulmaz bir gece yaşattı. Dünya çapında olağanüstü nitelikte bir müzisyen olarak ilgiyi üstünde toplayan keman virtüözü Kristóf Baráti, festivalin yurtdışı eğitim bursuyla desteklenen, son iki yıldır ise festival kapsamında verdiği konserlerle dikkat çeken genç piyanist Tuna Bilgin, Romantik Dönem bestecilerden Beethoven, Brahms ve Franck’ın sonatlarıyla izleyici karşısına çıktı.  
Kusursuz tekniği, geniş ifade yelpazesi ve kemanına kattığı şiirselliği, genç piyanistimiz Tuna Bilgin’in mükemmel performansı eşliğinde sergileyen Kristóf Baráti, açılış konserinde programa L.V. Beethoven’ın, “Keman ve Piyano Sonatı No. 5 Fa Majör, Op. 24 “Bahar Sonatı” ile başladı. Kristóf Baráti & Tuna Bilgin ikilisi, daha sonra J. Brahms’ın, “Keman Sonatı No. 2 La Majör, Op. 100” adlı yapıtını seslendirerek büyük alkış aldı. Programda son eser, C. Franck’ın, “Keman Sonatı, La Majör” başlığını taşıyordu. İzleyicinin yoğun alkışlarıyla tekrar sahneye gelen ikili bis yaparak geceyi sonlandırdı.
H4NDS DUO: DÖRT EL PİYANO PERFORMANSI BÜYÜK BEĞENİ TOPLADI
21. Gümüşlük Müzik Festivali, Portekizli piyanistler António Silva & Tiago Nunes’un 14 Temmuz Pazar akşamı verdiği konserle devam etti. Klasik müzikseverleri Bitez Aktur’daki Zefirya Kültür ve Sanat Merkezi’nde buluşturan
Portekizli piyano ikilisi Silva ve Nunes, konser sonunda ayakta alkışlandı. İkili, 2019 pandemi döneminde geliştirdikleri eserlerinden oluşan dört el piyano ‘H4NDS DUO’ projeleriyle beğeni topladı.
Farklı coğrafyalardan bestecilerin eserlerini içeren ve sınırları müzikle kaldırma fikrine odaklanan H4NDS DUO projesi ve aynı adlı albüm; Schubert, Grieg, Dvořák ve Gluck gibi bestecilerin eserlerinden oluşuyordu. Coğrafi çeşitliliğe ve özgürlükleri kısıtlananların dayanıklılığına övgü niteliğine sahip olan proje dışında İkili, List, Debussy, M. Tokuyama ve A. Piazzolla’dan eserler de seslendirdi.
Zefirya Kültür ve Sanat Merkezi’nde gerçekleşen “Dört El” piyano ziyafetinde Portekizli ikili ilk olarak; F. Schubert’ten, “Fantezi Fa minör, D.940” adlı eseri seslendirdi. Sanatçılar bu eserin ardından E. Grieg’den, “Norveç Dansları, Op. 35; A. Dvořák’tan, “Slav Dansları: No.2, Op. 72 “Dumka” No.8, Op. 46 “Furiant” ve F. Liszt’ten, “Funérailles – Harmonies poétiques et religieuses, S.173, No. 7” adlı yapılarla izleyiciden alkış aldı.. Program ikinci yarısında C. Debussy’nin, “L’isle Joyeuse, L. 106” başlıklı eseri ile açıldı. Daha sonra M. Tokuyama’nın, “Musica Nara op.25” adlı eseri izleyici ile buluştu. Gece A. Piazzolla’nın, “Invierno Porteño”, “Nightclub 1960” ve “Libertango” başlıklı yapıtlarıyla son buldu.
‘KUMDA KEMAN’- GENÇ KEMANCILARA ÖVGÜ YAĞDI
Gümüşlük Festival Akademisi (GFA) tarafından 2006’dan beri düzenli olarak gerçekleştirilen masterclasslar kapsamında bu yıl ilk sınıf mezunlarını verdi. 2024’ün ilk ustalık sınıfına katılan Keman Masterclass öğrencileri, keman sanatçıları Kristóf Barati ve Erkin Onay’la bir hafta boyunca müzikal bilgi ve enstrümanlarında ustalık kazandılar. Yoğun etüt programı ve derslerin sonunda geçtiğimiz akşam festivalin Gümüşlük sahilindeki sahnesi Toprak Ev’de izleyici karşısına çıkan GFA Keman Masterclass öğrencileri, keman için yazılmış eserlerden derledikleri bir repertuvarla sahneye çıktı.
Yaşları 12 ila 21 arasında değişen, Bilkent Üniversitesi Müzik ve Sahne Sanatları Fakültesi, Hacettepe Üniversitesi Ankara Devlet Konservatuvarı, Bakü Bülbül Müzik Okulu, Mimar Sinan İstanbul Devlet Konservatuarı gibi farklı eğitim kurumlarında gelen 9 genç yetenek, Toprak Ev’in sahnesinde hünerlerini sergiledi. C. Saint-Saëns, Fritz Kreisler, Joachim Raff, Henryk Wieniawski, W. A. Mozart, N. Paganini, Antonín Dvořák ve Béla Bartók gibi sevilen bestecilerin keman için yazılmış eserlerini seslendiren öğrenciler, konserin ardından düzenlenen törenle, sertifikalarını eğitmenleri Erkin Onay’ın elinden alma şansına sahip oldu. GFA Keman Masterclass öğrenci konserinin geliri önceki yıllarda olduğu gibi bu yıl da bir sonraki yılın öğrenci fonunda kullanılacak. GFA fonu, ihtiyaç sahibi öğrencilerin yurt içi veya yurtdışı eğitim giderlerine aktarılıyor.

As Marie left her room, she bumped into Allegra and Claude who were getting ready to head to the cafeteria.
“Morning, guys.” yawned Marie, as she made herself her specialty coffee, lovingly named Death Brew.
“Good morning, Mars!” chirped Allegra.
“Good Morning, Mari! We wanted to ask you something,” Claude hesitated and looked towards Allegra for confirmation. “...We, that is Felix, Allan, Allegra, and I have been practicing together to start a band… but we don’t have a lead singer. After yesterday, we talked it over, and wanted to ask you if youwantedtojoinourband?”
“What?” Did she hear that right?
“Join our band?”
Allegra cut in to explain better. “Obviously, this isn’t something we would offer after knowing you for one day, but you seem like an amazing person, and we would all love to get to know you! The fact that you come with Jagged Stone as your honorary brother and are also an amazing singer is a huge plus, but really, we want to be friends with you.” Allegra rambled, nervously.
Marie was shocked. Her new dormmates were really offering something so important to them to her. And not just because of who she was, and what connections she has. Not for her money. Not for fame, and not for love. She could truly see herself being good friends with these teens in time. She shook her head to shake off the intruding thoughts of her past friends and focused back on Allegra and Claude, who were nervously waiting for her answer.
“Yes! Yes, I would love to be in your band! What’s your guys’ band name?”
By that time, the others had come out to join them and were contributing to their ever-growing list of possible band names as they left their dorm and headed to the elevators.
“What about The Catastrophe?” supplied Allan.
“...The Six?”
“...Malfortune?”
“...Heritage?”
“What about The Quantics?” Questioned Claude, absentmindedly.
The others paused.
“You might be on to something, Beauchêne…” Felix hesitated, before continuing, “Since Marie will be our Lead Singer, why don’t we call ourselves Marie and the Quantics?”
Completely shocked, Marie froze, as Allegra and Claude cheered at having found their name and pulled them all in for a group hug.
Marie looked around at her new bandmates and smiled softly. It looked like she would finally find a place she truly belonged in.

The newly named band exits the elevator and makes its way to the cafeteria, where they’ll get their new schedules.
They joined the other tired students who were slowly trickling into the cafeteria for breakfast and sat down at a table, close to the doors, to not get trampled by the students when they rush to get to their first class of the day.
They keep up small talk while the administrator, Camille calls up students to pick up their schedules. One by one, the group picks up their schedules and shares them with each other.
Marie studies her schedule, trying to commit it to memory before she passes it to Allegra.

They finished up their food and began heading to their new classrooms, ready to start learning.

Monday, September 5th, 2005 - 3pm
After a, frankly, overwhelming morning, Marie Wayne was jogging to her dorm, to pick up her guitar before her next class, when she crashed into another student who had their hands full of papers, sending them both toppling to the ground and papers fluttering to the ground around them.
“Ugh,” Marie groaned, as she slowly sat up, trying to keep her head from spinning. She turned towards the student she had crashed into and saw him curiously observing her.
She jumped up and stumbled before she got her balance back, and reached out a hand to the boy who had finished picking up his scattered papers on the ground and pulled him up.
She looked up at him and their eyes met, and Marie nearly stumbled again from their intensity.
The boy was absolutely gorgeous. With breathtaking cyan eyes, silky black hair with blue tips, and a friendly, reassuring smile, Marie was near-instantly smitten.
She shook herself out of her thoughts and introduced herself.
“I’m Marie and I am so, so sorry about that. You’re not hurt, are you?”
“Don’t worry about it, I’m wasn’t hurt. I’m Luka, by the way. Where are you headed to, so distracted?”
“I’m just heading to my dorm to grab my guitar.”
“Well, Marie,” He smiled down at her, “Would you mind if I accompanied you? I’ll be heading to Mme. Beaumont’s class, too.”
“N-no,” She stuttered, “No, I don’t mind if you join me. We’re not far. It’s dorm A-21, just down the hall.”
‘Yeah,’ Marie thought, as she walked to her next class with Luka, 'This is going to be a great fresh start for me.'

Defenestrating Sphere has been voted the Best Dungeons and Dragons Spell for sixteen consecutive years since its publication in 2004 by the Royal Society For Yeeting Your Bitch Ass Out Of A Fucking Window, which is the greatest number of consecutive wins of this award for any spell published in a D&D splatbook by nine years, and the most awarded spell in the game overall by four years with the runner-up being Telekinesis (although Telekinesis has more total wins due to its being in the game for longer - it was already published at the founding of the Royal Society For Yeeting Your Bitch Ass Out Of A Fucking Window in 1983.
The American Your-Bitch-Ass-Out-Of-A-Window-Yeeting Association predates Dungeons and Dragons, but has only given awards for tabletop RPG spells since 2006. Defenestrating Sphere has won every single year in America, except for 2016 and 2008. In 2016 the award was given to Bigby’s Grasping Hand in a close vote, with the prevailing opinion being “come on, it’s just too easy, man.” The resulting riots nearly led to the AYBAOOAWYA’s collapse, and over twelve members were killed, most by the obvious cause but one by gunshot wounds. In 2008 the award was given to Hurl Through Hell. However, this was no longer valid in 2010 with the resolution to no longer consider D&D 4th Edition a Dungeons And Dragons Game, resulting in the award being moved to the new “Best Spell From A Tabletop Imitation Of A MMORPG” category, later renamed the “Best D&D 4th Edition Spell” in 2013. Hurl Through Hell has won this award every year since its inception. The 2008 “Best Dungeons And Dragons Spell” award was reinstated in 2014 after the release of D&D 5e and the inclusion of Hurl Through Hell, but was later rescinded in 2018 when somebody pointed out that Hurl Through Hell is a class feature and not a spell in 5e.
The AYBAOOAWYA currently does not recognize a winner for Best D&D Spell in 2008. The Czech Defenestration Society is the oldest and ninth-most prestigious recreational defenestration organization, established in 1419. However, to date CDS Windowlords have refused to add roleplaying games as an awards category, on the basis that it would detract from their reputation. Nevertheless the foundations of the great window, and the lake as a whole, have been designated a world heritage site by UNESCDO, the United Nations Cultural, Scientific, Cultural, and Defenestration Organization, and tourism has replaced fishing as the dominant industry in the area.
But this atrocity did not deter the CDS, and over the course of the war the Czechs proceeded to defenestrate several other German settlements including Cloppenburg, Dingolfing, and Bad Mergentheim (Good Mergentheim fifteen kilometers to the South was also leveled in an unrelated attack by the Budapest Pyromancy club. Sorta Okay Mergentheim still stands to this day, although it has been depopulated since 1971 due to the actions of the Slovenian Necromancer’s Guild), as well as Lubbock Texas, which was sadly confused with Lübeck, Germany (Which was sunk into the sea in 1955 by the Liverpool Cult of Neptune), and Ipswich, which was destroyed just for the fun of it. Luckily for the allies, the CDS was finally brought to its knees with the 1942 defeat of most of its Council of Archdefenestrators by Defenestrierungsmeister Hans Von Liechenberg, also known by his post-war professional wrestling stage name Hurl-It-Out Hans, using his signature finishing move, Defenestrierenkugel (roughly translates as: Defenestrating Sphere). Hurl-It-Out Hans was the third most popular defenestration-themed professional wrestler of all time, after Max Pane, and The Undertaker, best known for the 1998 match where he threw Mankind out the window of Hell In A Cell and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.
However, while the Czech Defenestration Society has the most total destroyed cities to its record, the largest individual city to be defenestrated was San Antonion in 1993 by the Texas-based biker gang known as Yeet-Haw. A 2008 attempt by the CDS to overturn this record by defenestrating Hamburg ended in tragedy when Hamburg, Arkansas was accidentally defenestrated instead of Hamburg, Germany. After major public outcry, the CDS’s Senior Geography Officer Pepik Otradovec was ejected via the 14th-story window of the organization’s headquarters in Hradec.
This was also the same year that American Your-Bitch-Ass-Out-Of-A-Window-Yeeting Association retroactively failed to crown a Best Dungeons and Dragons Spell winner. As a result of these two incidents 2008 has been voted the Worst Year In History by the Royal Society For Yeeting Your Bitch Ass Out Of A Fucking Window five times, the third-most wins of any year. It is tied for third place with AD 79, when both Pompeii and Herculineum were destroyed by a volcanic eruption without windows being involved at all. In second place is 1965, when the Chicago Municipal Building Code briefly banned windows. This ban was quickly overturned due the entire committee responsible being hurled out of an existing window which had been grandfathered in and was not affected by the ban. In first place is 1903, the year when impact-resistant windowpanes for high-rises were invented.
1903, coincidentally, is also exactly 173 times the number of votes by which Bigby’s Grasping Hand won in 2016. But even more impressive is that 2016 happens equal the height in feet of the current world record for Highest Purely Architectural Defenestration in the Women’s Category by use of a rolling chair, set by Agnes Bilchmoitner of Lincoln, Nebraska (Defenestrator) and the late Joe Rusell Bracegirdle Junior (Defenestratee) of Schaumburg, Illinois, off the 137th floor of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which shattered not only the previous record but also the impact-resistant glass in use on the tower, although the record would have been higher if the structure had not been built with lower roofs which interrupted Mr. Bracegirdle’s fall against the recommendation of the American Your-Bitch-Ass-Out-Of-A-Window-Yeeting Association. Regardless, the floor number this record was set from with the last two digits reversed is equal to the ratio of the calendar year which was voted the Worst Year of All Time by the RSFYYBAOOAFW to the margin of victory for Bigby’s Grasping Hand, and the last two digits of the year when Bigby’s Grasping Hand won Best D&D Spell is the same as the distance in feet that the Undertaker threw Mankind out the window of Hell In A Cell and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table. This took place in 1998, which is not only the best version of Windows Operating System according to the  AYBAOOAWYA, but is also equal to the current height in feet of the world record for Highest Magically-Assisted Purely Architectural Defenestration By A Minor, set by 16-year-old Brian Woolworth in 2004, which is when the D&D 3.5 edition Complete Arcana was published, including the spell Defenestrating Sphere, and Brian’s age when he set the record is equal to the number of consecutive years Defenestrating Sphere has been voted the Best Dungeons and Dragons spell by the RSFYYBAOOAFW.
And that, according to the Czech Defenestration Society’s 2021 annual awards ceremony, is the Greatest Defenestration Trivia Fact of the year.

Physical Description: Irritator was a Spinosaurid, so the weird crocodile-mimicking theropods that roamed the Cretaceous landscape across the Southern hemisphere (and some of Europe). Irritator, however, is not known from very much material, despite having loads written about it. It was one of the smaller members of the Spinosaur group, only about 7.5 meters long and not weigh more than one tonne - which may actually indicate it could have still had some sort of fluffy integument, though this still seems unlikely based on its ecology. As a Spinosaur, Irritator would have been fairly bulky, with a long and vaguely crocodilian skull. Its skull also featured a long thin crest going from the midline to the eye, where it flattened into a bulge - this was probably some sort of display structure. Little is known of the rest of its skeleton, but it is known to have had a long and well-clawed hand. It probably had some sort of sail on its back, but it probably was a shorter one, and whether or not its legs were a normal size is unknown.

Diet: Irritator would have mainly fed upon fish and other aquatic organisms.
Behavior: Irritator, being a Spinosaur, spent most of its time in the water, swimming about and searching for food. Since it was rather small, it would have been able to fit in smaller streams of water than most of its other relatives. Though, since it probably still had fairly decent legs, it also would have spent a good amount of time on the land, surveying the shore for food and seeking out prey. Its long snout would then be used to grab fish and other animals from the water, using the lightweight instrument to grab food it might not be able to reach otherwise. While swimming, it would be able to use that snout to reach even more food than before, ducking its head underwater or doing the reverse to hide from land sources of prey. Its very powerful neck muscles would have also been extremely helpful in grabbing and holding onto thrashing prey.

Irritator was probably warm-blooded, and used its sail more for display than for keeping warm. This display structure may have been able to change color based on blood circulation or environment in order to send different messages to other members of the species. The crest on the center of the snout also probably served similar features, for displaying to one another. It seems likely that Irritator, like most other dinosaurs, took care of its young; but there is no evidence either way to support that hypothesis.

Ecosystem: Irritator lived in the Romualdo Environment of Brazil, which was a basin of lakes surrounded by rivers and other wetland environments, filled to the brim with a wide variety of plantlife. Nearby was the burgeoning Atlantic Ocean, making this a Spinosaur’s favorite place of all. Here there were a wide variety of early flowering plants like magnolias, seagrasses, and lilies - all of which were associated heavily with this aquatic environment. There were many types of ray-finned fish, which would have been the primary source of prey for Irritator, as well as lobe-finned fish which would have also been decent sources of food. Sharks seem to have been rare. There were plenty of turtles too, including one of the earliest sea turtles Santanachelys. This was the land of extreme pterosaurs, including Anhanguera, Arirpesaurus, Barbosania, Brasileodactylus, Cearadacytlus, Maaradactylus, Santanadactylus, Tapejara, Thalassodromeus, Tropeognathus, Tupuxuara, and Unwindia. There was also a Notosuchian, Araripesuchus. There were other dinosaurs there too - the compsognathid Mirischia and the Tyrannosauroid Santanaraptor, which would have mainly fed on small animal prey.

Other: Irritator was found as part of the illegal fossil trade, initially mistake for a pterosaur, then a maniraptoran, before being finally identified as a spinosaur. The confusion surrounding this fossil - and the fact that the snout had been artificially elongated by the fossil traders - lead to its name. Its position within the Spinosaurs is well supported, and it seems to have been at least somewhat closely related to Spinosaurus itself, rather than Baryonyx on the other end of the family tree.

KAGE is Konoha’s New Exciting Boy Group

Kage have emerged as an unstoppable force in the Konoha pop scene, and now the group is already on their way to take over the world. Its two main tracks, “Beasts” and “I’m on My Way” landed on the number 1 and 2 spots on all major music charts on Konoha and abroad, while the rest of the tracks on the album “Jutsu” are on the top 20. The group’s four music videos on their YouTube channel have already amassed nearly 200 million views and counting.
The five members—Hyuuga Neji, Sai, Inuzuka Kiba, Uchiha Sasuke, and Uzumaki Naruto—all helped write and produce the songs on their album.
Kage is KG Entertainment’s first idol group. The label previously specialized in hip-hop and more experimental soloists and groups, so the decision of debuting a pop group was met with either eyebrow-raising incredulity or feverish anticipation.
“There was certainly a huge amount of pressure from both sides—from the ones who anticipate because we don’t want to let them down, and from the ones rooting for us to fail because we want to prove them wrong,” said leader Hyuuga Neji. “But we simply channeled the anxiety and frustration into working hard to make an excellent debut.”
Kage’s debut also came at the most opportune time. Konoha’s pop music is on the rise and is being recognized all across the great nations. “I think it’s pretty cool that our music is reaching other countries! Kinda makes you realize what they say about music’s power to connect everybody,” shared Uzumaki Naruto, the mood-maker and the youngest of the group.
With a world tour currently planned, Kage really would be able to connect more with their fans. The group is set to visit 6 countries and play 30 shows. 500,000 people are expected to attend. Now, that’s something to look forward to.

Uchiha Itachi of the legendary 2nd generation group Akatsuki is his older brother. (Handsome bros <3)
He trained with Oto Entertainment for 2 years before transferring and debuting under KG.

Kunoichi is only the fourth Konoha act to hit number 1 on World Digital Songs Chart, joining Akatsuki, Tsunade, and Kage.

KAGE Unveils Titles of First Two Singles of Comeback Album 04/04/2008
KAGE has finally unveiled the title of two tracks on their upcoming comeback album.

To kick off their highly-anticipated return, it has been revealed that the group will be releasing “Will of Fire” and “Endure” this coming July 1, as seen in the brand new teaser posters for KAGE’s ROOTS PROJECT released earlier today.
Also indicated in the teaser posters are the personnel in the production of the tracks. KG Entertainment veteran Hatake Kakashi produce both tracks as he always does for Kage, while all the boys would take turns to write and compose, and the main rappers, Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto would pen their own verses. This time however, one of the writers of the second track “Endure” is none other than Kunoichi’s Haruno Sakura, alongside the group’s primary lyricist Uchiha Sasuke.
Kage leader Hyuuga Neji says of Sakura’s involvement in their album, “Sakura-san was kind enough to gift us a song, to which we are grateful. Its style is unlike anything we have done before and it gears towards a different but interesting direction for us as a group.” Neji adds, “We hope the fans who have supported us up until now will continue to let us show them Kage’s new colors.”
Meanwhile, Kage will be gearing up to start their world tour on October 10 at Konoha Memorial Stadium which would include the tracks from the new album in the setlist. They plan to visit 11 different countries, hold 50 performances, and meet 1.2 million fans.

‘Idols Weekly’ Kage Episode Highlights 08/05/2008
Hey, guys! KageYah here. The video for part 1 is already up but it hasn’t been subbed yet. For those of you who can’t wait, here are some highlights of the episode. (Spoiler alert?)
It’s Kage’s second time as guests and hosts Hashirama and Tobirama (mostly Hashi) pretend to be emotional because they say the boys have grown up so well and will probably be really chic and cold now after their international success.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, the hosts said they prepared a red carpet only for Kage.
Finally, the boys enter one by one in the studio driving a toy car on the red carpet.
Kiba tumbled off the car towards the end.
Sasuke was blank-faced the whole time and everyone was laughing.
Hashirama tells the editor to pause a few times for Neji’s footage to give viewers a chance to screenshot him on the car while wind blows on his hair.
After introductions were made, Tobirama asked them what has changed with them in the past two years besides being recognized more. Neji said nothing much and that they are the same. “Yeah, we never learn!” Naruto interjected. Hashi beamed at this saying he was gonna make them talk shit.
Sai: “I was specifically instructed by our CEO to ‘stop talking shit.’ …  He didn’t like it when I said that he said he asks for malls to close so he can shop and that we have the same dermatologist among other things. He also didn’t like that I talk about peni—” The members had to cover his mouth for this, lol.
Hashi asked if they got themselves significant others in the past 2 years since they all claimed to be single last time. Neji said that it has gotten more difficult for them somehow because they’re so busy. “Speak for yourself!” Kiba said. He and Naruto were howling.
During a beat, Hashi asked Sasuke, “Sasuke-kun, how’s your grandfather?” Sasuke was all ‘what’??? [T/N: I don’t know either?? He asked this the last time, too.]
Naruto told Hashi to ask Sasuke if he has had a girlfriend. Sasuke replied no. Everyone in the room went crazy with this revelation. Sasuke said, “Nor have any of these guys. I don’t know why they’re celebrating.” [T/N: AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!]
Sasuke: “I take relationships very seriously, so I won’t start anything with anyone unless I feel something very deeply towards them.”
Tobi: “...Damn, suddenly we can’t make fun of him anymore.” Everyone laughed.
Hashi: “You’ll never get married, Sasuke!!!” Sasuke shrugged comically.
Then it’s time for Dancing at Random, where the boys have to dance to their own songs played on shuffle. Whoever is the least synced with the other members by the end will be hit by a toy hammer in the head. The songs played are: Will of Fire, Beasts, Believe It!, and Illusions.
[T/N: I have to say, Kage is at the point of their career where they really don’t give a shit anymore. In other words, they couldn’t remember most of their choreography.]
Despite not remembering their choreography, Kage is still very much synchronized with their idiocy. Except Naruto, the King of the idiot line. The rest of the members wordlessly conspired to betray Naruto so he had to take the hammer in the end.
“I CAN DO THIS!!!” Naruto said as he bowed his head for the hammer. He looked like he was close to tears. “IT HURTS!!!!!!!!”
Hashi and Tobi felt sorry for him and decided to give them a chance to dance to one more song. The plot twist was that it wasn’t a Kage song--it was ‘Bloom’ by Kunoichi.
Another plot twist: everyone nailed the choreography.
Hashi: “This is… really something, you guys.” Tobi: “Naruto, maybe you should ask to be transferred to Kunoichi instead.”
Naruto: “Maybe I should!! Those girls will never betray me!” Naruto said Sasuke would join him if he transfers to Kunoichi not because they’re friends but because… Naruto never got to finish what he was saying because the camera caught Sasuke glaring challengingly which made everyone laugh.

Uchiha Sasuke releases a brand new single to mark first solo project.

Fresh from the success of his group’s Roots Project and rap subunit SN, with member Uzumaki Naruto, the Kage rapper who is known for the dexterity of his words and dry wit, ditches radio-ready pop for a more experimental raw rock-funk-hip-hop hybrid in his solo debut album “Revolution.”
“Breathing Fire” is about a man’s obsessive pursuit for power that it ends up burning him. The music video is a single take of the camera zooming out to show an empire slowly burning to dust, providing a stunning supplement to an already captivating track.
The release of this single also kicks off a series of shows that Sasuke will be doing around Fire Country and abroad. Tour dates to be announced soon so keep an eye out for them.
In addition to “Breathing Fire,” Sasuke is also set to release a music video tomorrow for “Heavenly Hand” which features a vocal line from Kunoichi member Haruno Sakura who is also busy preparing for her own full-length solo album tentatively set to be released later this year.

[INTERVIEW] 100923 KoKo Magazine: Sakura Throughout
We catch up with Haruno Sakura on her journey as an artist, and beyond.
Q: It’s very difficult to get an interview with you. We wanted to know more about you. Sakura: I like doing interviews but I don’t get that many opportunities to do them. Maybe it’s because my company thinks I thrive in easy-consumption type of media. (laughs)
Q: But you’ve been all around this year and prior. You released your first solo album, you’ve been featured in a few tracks by different artists, and you’ve gotten songwriting credit for a Kage track. What was that like? S: It was a mixture of tenacity and luck. Before debuting, I was insistent that I wanted to write or at least contribute to writing our own material, to the point where I think I annoyed our company. Our CEO said they would only agree if I made a song that they determined would be a hit. So I wrote and wrote every single day, two track ideas at least. Luckily, I got a few songs in and they allowed me. But then I’m left with a heap of material just waiting to be worked on, and counting! It was really just luck that I went to the KG Studios when Kage were throwing ideas around for their comeback. Naruto asked me—maybe as a joke, now that I think about it—if I had anything lying around, and I said I did. I’m just glad they liked it enough to work with it and took a risk even if it sounded different from what they did. That became a starting point where our company decided to take a chance and make me release my own album.
Q: Your album Love Throughout had really good reviews. What did you think about that? Were you expecting it? S: Not at all! I still couldn’t even believe that it exists sometimes, and that I was allowed to do it. I’m really thankful of the warm reception. It makes me want to work harder and better. I hope they’ll let me do it again.
Q: Your collaborations with Kage’s Uchiha Sasuke were also well-received. S: I was honored that Sasuke-kun asked me because ‘Heavenly Hand’ was a lovely song. He was nice enough to return the favor with ‘Silently, Strongly’ on my album. Next time, I’ll be the one to return the favor, and then this exchange will go on forever. Hopefully the fans won’t get tired. (laughs)
Q: What do you wish to do next? S: I would really like to try my hand at producing. I’m currently taking a few courses in music theory and production at KUA (Konoha University of the Arts) because I want to take this seriously. I’m not actually producing anything at the moment but I’ll be ready when it comes. (laughs) If it doesn’t, well, I’m having fun learning, at least.
Q: You seem to be a very disciplined person to manage studies in between activities. In what other ways are you strict towards yourself? S: In many aspects. As a public figure, I’m obligated to maintain an image so I watch my weight and take care of my hair and skin and all that. I’m most strict towards myself with making music. My pre-debut habit of making two song ideas before the day ends has carried on to this day. I have set high standards for myself. I’m pretty sure I have put off some people with how intense I am. (laughs) But I think of being here as a gift and that it’s my duty to work hard to show that I am grateful and worthy of it in return.
Q: Lastly, this question begs to be asked: any news on Kunoichi comeback? S: At the moment, we’re all very busy doing individual activities. I have promotional activities and school at the moment. Ino is working on her own solo album to be released next year which I’m looking forward to. Sprinting Sisters variety show has gotten even funnier since TenTen joined as a member. Hinata’s doing her drama. I still keep in touch with them, especially Ino, and they’re all really pleased with their accomplishments, as I am. We are all looking forward to come back as a group in the near future but in the meantime, we hope Kuchis will support us in our individual endeavors.

In a recent interview with local news outlet K-Daily, Tsunade discussed her thoughts and feelings about working with Haruno Sakura (Kunoichi) on her much awaited comeback album after a 5-year hiatus following the death of her husband, Kato Dan.

When asked, “Is there a reason you decided to work with Sakura of all the more experienced producers?” the legendary singer commented, “I only met her personally last year but her career has been one of the few that I’ve truly followed and anticipated. When we met, she mentioned that she’s trying to branch out into producing so I invited her to work on my album, and the rest, as they say, is history.”
Tsunade also adds, “She is very comfortable to work with, and it didn’t feel like she was a beginner at all. She has a clear vision of what she wants, and puts her heart into achieving it.”
Even before her comeback, Tsunade’s first single, “Rebirth” got a lot of attention for being written by Kage’s Uchiha Sasuke and composed by Sakura herself. Regarding this, Tsunade reveals she initially didn’t know about the song’s origin when it was brought to the studio.
“I had no idea it was Uchiha’s track and only found out about the fact while working with Sakura. I told her I wanted to have a song that commands and has a lot of energy, the kind that makes you think, ‘Oh! The baddest bitch is back.’ Then when we returned to the studio the next day, she looked like she pulled an all-nighter, but she had the perfect song for me,” Tsunade reveals.
Tsunade says she has yet to meet Sasuke in person, “We haven’t met but the recordings would go back and forth, and he would give notes through Sakura on the kind of feeling that would go with so and so part.”
With the success of ‘Rebirth,’ Tsunade hopes to collaborate again with Sakura and Sasuke in the future.

Kage member Uchiha Sasuke is this month’s cover artist for K-D magazine. The editor sat down during the photoshoot for an in-depth interview. Check out the translation below.
Q: You look pretty tired even though it’s still morning. Is the photoshoot too early for you? Sasuke: No, it’s fine. I’m just a bit jet-lagged is all.
Q: This photoshoot is highlighting a different side of you—a softer, more natural concept than the ones we normally see you in. Does looking like an idol make you feel uncomfortable? S: No—well, I am an idol. This is the path I have chosen so I should be able to get past any sort of discomfort I would feel on my own. Also, I was told fans seem to enjoy this kind of thing.
Q: Tsunade’s ‘Rebirth’ which was released this year got a lot of positive feedback. What did you think about it, as the one who wrote it? S: It did? That’s great. Tsunade’s distinctive voice has been something that I regarded highly as I was growing up. The song wouldn’t have worked as well had it been sung by anyone else, in my opinion. It’s an honor to have my song sung by her.
Q: You said, “It did?” as though you don’t pay attention to charts. S: I don’t. Not about stuff I did myself at least. Or rather, when I was told that Tsunade liked it, and when I heard the results and was satisfied with it, then that’s all that matters. Not that it’s surprising that it did well; this is Tsunade after all.
Q: That was a cool thing to say... S: Anyway.
Q: You’ve always written your own stuff, and now, aside from collaborations, you’ve started writing songs for other people. How do you know which songs to give away, which songs to use for Kage, and which ones for your solos? S: They aren’t premeditated decisions. When I work on a project, I work with the mindset that I have at that moment so the output would come organically. Although, when I work with Kage, the decisions would be informed by the opinions of the members and mass appeal. When I’m on my own, as I said, I’m less concerned about whether it would chart or not, and more about releasing content that currently speaks to me, or that I’m curious about. There would always be ideas and tracks that wouldn’t work so they’d be put in the back burner until an opportunity arises, which was the case with ‘Rebirth.’ And then there would be songs that would never see the light of day—the ones I keep for myself or for certain people.
Q: Like a significant other? S: Sure.
Q: The last two years have been very eventful for you especially as a solo artist. I heard that not only did you produce your album, but you also participated in its visual concept and direction. What prompted that decision and what was it like? S: It seemed like a natural course of things since I wanted the album to show facets of myself I haven’t shown before. Up until then, we’ve been making decisions as a group and we’ve always trusted Neji’s aesthetic sensibilities in terms of the direction of our visual concepts. It was just something I wanted to try on my own. In working solo, I wasn’t so much worried about looking cool as I was about showing visuals that would effectively complement the tracks. It was like problem solving so I thought it was enjoyable.
Q: Also in the last two years, you have been a featured artist in various tracks from a whole range of artists—there’s ‘Retrieve’ with Shino A; and then there’s ‘Silently, Strongly’ with Sakura with whom you also collaborated on Tsunade’s ‘Rebirth;’ and then if you consider your subunit with Naruto— S: I don’t.
Q: Oh, alright. And then you’re also set to feature on a track on Troublesome’s new album. My question is, is there a reason you do all these features? S: You say it as if I have done so many, but it’s not nearly as much as the featuring offers I’ve gotten. I’m rather selective on which tracks I feature in. I would always consider if I can really be of help to make the song better, if my current mindset matches the tone of the song, and also if I can offer and learn something different from this collaboration. It must be a give-and-take, in my understanding. Shino has an interesting turn of phrase in his lyrics; Troublesome has a unique eclectic sound; Tsunade, I’ve already mentioned; and Sakura is incredibly talented and I’d be a complete idiot if I said no to her. It’s burdensome to turn people down but I’d rather be thorough than half-ass these things.
Q: You’re very particular about where you lend your talents to that’s why it always yields good results. Now I understand why people consider you a top idol rapper. Who do you think is your current competition? S: Naruto told me that if I were to encounter a question like this, I should answer his name. So my answer is no comment.
Q: Are you at all competitive? S: With rapping, not anymore. There’s a prejudice against idol rappers that they’re somehow less legitimate than those in the underground scene, so they’re upheld to a different standard anyway. It’s futile to compete. Frankly, I’m not interested in it. As it is now, rapping is just a means to an end for me. I’m more concerned about making good music that reflects who I am, what I care about.
Q: Ever since you debuted, you have been compared with your brother Itachi of Akatsuki. What is your opinion on this? S: I knew it would be inevitable from the start even if I tried to distance myself and debuted in a different company. The admiration I feel for my brother even from before he debuted remains, so I’m not resentful at all. But I think our directions are different. Itachi has surpassed being a musician to being an icon. His influence extends to fashion, lifestyle, art, business, and such. I’m just trying to make good music. I’m flattered by the comparison but I would prefer to be viewed in a different light.
Q: Lastly, any hopes for the next 2-3 years? S: Be more courageous.

KG Entertainment CEO Danzo laughs off Sasuke and Sakura dating rumors. 2012-02-15
Photos recently surfaced on various social media sites of what appears to be Uchiha Sasuke (Kage) and Haruno Sakura (Kunoichi) in a grocery mart, in an attempt to spark up dating rumors.
Despite the fact that these dating rumors would usually fizzle out after a few days, KG was quick to dismiss them with an incredulous scoff. CEO Shimura Danzo himself spoke to various news outlets: “It’s utterly ridiculous. The reports are merely unfounded rumors.”
A representative from the company spoke of the photos, “Kage went to Wave Country last year for a world tour and Sakura was a guest performer at the time. They had a free day and decided to go out as a group, including PD’s and managers. ” They added, “Our company prides itself in having talents that treat each other as they would their families and friends. Rumors like this would only hurt that.”

Haruno Sakura and Uchiha Sasuke are longtime friends and songwriting partners, but could their relationship be blooming into something more?
Fans are determined to prove it.
KG representatives have previously denied the existence of this relationship which seemed to quiet the rumors down for a while, but they were sparked anew after Haruno Sakura uploaded a photo on her Instagram. The photo is taken in a park and featured a blurry man’s pair of legs. Seems innocuous, right? It could be anyone!
However, a few minutes later, Uchiha Sasuke uploaded a photo that looks like it was taken on the same park. Fans kept noting the similar bench, light posts, and trashcan, and deduced that they must be together. Some more meticulous fans even went as far as zooming in on one of the trashcans to reveal what was supposedly the reflection of two people who are believed to be Sasuke and Sakura. Almost immediately, Sasuke removed the picture which only added more fuel to the fire.
Back in March, Uchiha Sasuke discussed being in the middle of relationship rumors in an episode of Video Star: “There are pros and cons to admitting. Because I’m a celebrity, being in a relationship with me would potentially do more harm than good. Although the public has a right to know whether or not I’m dating someone, I have no obligation to disclose anything.”
So it looks like we won’t be able to have any kind of confirmation (affirmative or negative) anytime soon.
“There’s nothing to confirm because there’s nothing going on. If that blurry blob of whatever really was them, then so what? They could be just hanging out. It’s not impossible for a man and a woman to just be friends/workmates,” reasoned one K-netizen.
On the other camp, fans are going wild.
“ok am i thE ONLY ONE WHO WANTS THIS TO BE TRUE?!?!?!! i’ve seen their stages and i think they’d be a cute couple!!!! #confirmthisrelationship #please,” another K-netizen exclaimed.
More evidence? Back in 2011, when Sakura collapsed after Kunoichi’s concert in Konoha Arena, Kage were in the middle of promotional activities in Earth Country, but the day after, Sasuke (and Naruto) were already back in Konoha. Some people even claim spotting Sasuke bringing a pillow to Konoha General Hospital where Sakura was confined. In addition, recently Sakura has been spotted visiting the Leaf Gallery where Uchiha Mikoto (Sasuke’s mother) is a director. The two seem to be very friendly based on the photos Mikoto posted on her Instagram page.
But for all we know, this could all be just a huge coincidence and that they really are just friends.

REVIEW: Sakura’s Courage braves into more adventurous sounds, more intimate songwriting angles 31-Mar-2013
Up to this point, the Konoha pop scene has often been disregarded for producing fluff pieces that would always shy away from hard-cutting themes. Sakura’s appropriately titled sophomore offering Courage is a bold example of stepping up to the challenge by baring her doubts and vulnerabilities, and finding comfort in the person underneath it all. With the sonically diverse musical styles experimenting with folk, electronica, R&B, and classical music, Courage’s sound echoes the complexity of the artist within Sakura.
When Sakura softly sings, “Women have to be strong in order to survive,” on the title track Courage, even with a distinctive, almost tremulously emotive voice, it was no soft declaration, and it sets the tone for the rest of the album.
Having debuted as one-fourth of Kunoichi, KG Entertainment’s first girl group fresh after the overwhelming international success of its flagship group Kage, she has been thoroughly judged by the public through a microscope since she was 19. In the years following their debut, she was often mocked for her appearance and presentation, and their group’s success was often questioned as only riding on the coattails of the boy group before them. Moreover, she is involved in an ongoing “dating scandal” with a member of said boy group.
This preface is a necessary evil because as we now arrive with Courage, we recognize that Sakura’s declaration is no small feat. Sakura addresses the frankly, oddly obsessive level of hatred directed at her in the tongue-in-cheek and drone-like, “And all I do is cry, and all I do is cry, and all I do is cry” hook of Useless repeated ad nauseam, sandwiched in between verses that are a litany of her supposed faults. In addition, the chill-inducing restraint as she sings in a silky voice, “Smile to ease out of a situation / Even if it’s fake,” in Fake Smiles gives the audience a glimpse of what’s underneath the glitter and glamour of the star: a human, working through the anger and hurt all the while having to appear pristine and perfect.
Maturity is certainly a theme in Courage, and in the time between this and Sakura’s debut solo album Love Throughout, she has undergone relationship rumors and scandals. The veracity of these rumors notwithstanding, heartache can be found in Courage, specifically with the songs 181 and Maybe Next Time, about distance and pining. Softly sung with Sakura’s gentle and emotive voice, like a secret—they’re infinitely intriguing.
With Courage, Sakura isn’t afraid to show moments of self-doubt, insecurity, and loneliness. An album like this proves the importance to have musicians explore deeply into themselves and express themselves in compelling ways, to show the humanity underneath all the glossy production, and gorgeous visuals.

On the June 25 webisode of “The Road of Life,” Haruno Sakura visited a fan who has a dream of becoming a singer-songwriter.

The episode began showing the daily routine of Moegi Kazamatsuri, the fan. Sakura surprised her with a basket of goodies that she handpicked herself, moving Moegi to tears.
Once she had calmed down with Sakura’s words, the two quickly became comfortable with each other, with Moegi saying that she’s usually shy around new people but she felt immediately at ease with Sakura. Moegi began to explain the inferiority complex she feels and how hard it is to break into the industry. “It’s like no matter how much I try to raise myself up, there’s always going to be another wall that I need to overcome,” Moegi said. “At the moment, that wall is the feeling of never having anything good or important to say. People who want to get in the industry all have unique voices and stories to tell. But I don’t even know what I’m trying to be, let alone who I am.”
Hearing Moegi’s words, Sakura empathized because she said she has felt that way at some point, and that she still does every now and then. She began to talk about the rejections she had faced before she was finally signed as a trainee. “I can’t even count how many companies I have tried to audition for,” she laughed. “It was definitely a lot for a 12-year-old. I kept wondering if there was something wrong with me, if maybe people who make it innately have something, and that perhaps I’ll never have it—whatever it is.”
Sakura added, “But performing and writing was something that I have always enjoyed. My mom says I’ve been making up songs ever since I learned how to speak. Being able to express my thoughts is a good release for me. I’m sure you know that feeling.” Moegi agreed.
“As for them being good or important, those standards are too ambiguous and arbitrary. You can never please everybody, so you might as well just do what you think is you—your thoughts, your experiences. You are the only one in the world who is you, so that alone makes you and whatever you say important. I think if there’s at least one person out there who listens and finds something compelling in what I do, then that’s how I know I’ve chosen the right path,” Sakura said.
The conversation took on a lighter note when Moegi started to ask Sakura about her creative process and how she finds inspiration. “I do try to write from experiences, although not in a literal sense,” Sakura explained. “I wrote about “Tearfully pleading in the middle of the night/ Don’t go” in my previous album, but I have never really experienced that when I wrote it. It was more about my hopes at that time. Not that I hope to tearfully plead to someone! (laughs) I mean, I guess I hoped to feel that kind of all-encompassing love towards someone.
“So while Love Throughout was about my hopes, I tried to be as genuine as I can in Courage. The songs here really are my own experiences and thoughts. I tried to be personal and vulnerable in this album, and then tried to find strength in that vulnerability. I think that’s what I was going for,” Sakura added.
This revelation prompted Moegi to ask if the story behind Sakura’s hit ballad “Maybe Next Time” from her latest album really happened to her. “Were you really in mutual pining with someone?” To this, Sakura blushed, “I guess I dug my own grave here! (laughs) It was a situation where we weren’t in the position to pursue anything even if we both wanted to, not at the moment at least.”
As the night ended, Sakura posed for a photo with Moegi before walking her home. The two shared a big warm hug before saying goodbye.

Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura Caught Up in Dating Rumors Once Again + Affiliates Respond
Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura are caught up in dating rumors once again, and sources close to the two idols finally respond.
On an online community, one exchange student reported that Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura were spotted together in Snow Country. Haruno Sakura was there from February 9 to 12, while Uchiha Sasuke was seen on February 13. Some outlets reported seeing the two together in Kazahana, before returning to Konoha separately with a three-day gap between their flights.
On February 20, Haruno Sakura’s affiliates stated, “Haruno Sakura had promotional activities for the movie ‘The Strong 100’, where she is set to appear in. The schedule was tight and it would have been impossible to meet with Uchiha Sasuke. The two are not dating.”
Uchiha Sasuke’s camp also denied the rumors stating, “Mr. Uchiha went to Snow Country for a project, not to meet Ms. Haruno.”
This is not the first time that dating rumors about Uchiha Sasuke and Haruno Sakura have surfaced. However, while rumors in the past have been denied by their label KGE, this is the first time that sources from the two idols have outright denied it.

The economy must be a game: a set of regulated activities…but in which the rules are not decisions which someone takes for others. It is a set of rules which determine the way in which each must play a game whose outcome is not known to anyone. The economy is a game and the legal institution which frames the economy should be thought of as the rules of the game. (Foucault 2008d, 173) (NICE!)
----------the game as a metaphor for the neoliberal economy----------(BUT HERE HE SWITCHES THE METAPHOR AROUND)The procedural rhetoric of the digital game functions like the neoliberal free market economy in offering choices to players who can use its resources to further their own interests within the parameters of the game’s rules. In doing so, the digital game naturalizes a neoliberal approach to decision making in daily life.------->----->---(THE FREE((D😂M)) MARKET)------> Foucault outlines how eighteenth-century liberalism responded to the question of government by turning to the market and its “natural truth” as the main justification for its practice. Just as the free market was thought to establish the truth of “natural” prices and lead to prosperity, so too it was surmised that subjects living under “natural” conditions of freedom would thrive and prosper as well--------------------------------------Like liberalism before it, neoliberalism essentialized the market in applying a market rationality of choice to other social domains.----The digital game’s emergence in the mid to late 1970s mirrored the workings of an emergent neoliberal market by offering one of the first media in which choice was paramount in the experience.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Other forms of popular media available at the inception of the digital games, including vinyl records, film, books, radio, and television, were typically more top down in what they allowed a reader or audience member to experience. Audiences would typically be unable to direct the flow of the experience in listening to, reading, or watching these media texts. There would be little intervention in the unfolding of the text beyond turning off the music, closing the book or leaving the theater. Certainly, these forms of media offered their audience some choice in terms of which text to engage and how it might be engaged. However, the experience of these media was not characterized first and foremost by choice within the experience itself in the same manner as the digital game. This ability for subjects to constantly choose as they engage the medium mirrors the workings of their activity neoliberal market.---(IMPORTANT ^^^^ GAMES< MEDIA< AND CHOICE)
----------------------Digital game designers explicitly and intentionally afford players the opportunity to determine what decisions will shape their experience with and in the medium. Therefore, the choices players make in interacting with a digital game will likely result in a different experience every time the game is played. In this respect, the digital game serves as a prime example of a nonlinear text.5 (NON_LINEAR)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------As such, digital game theorists have described the choice-laden encounter with the digital game as a configurative performance. The choice found in the digital game coincides with the move to choice afforded subjects in the free market economies ushered in by neoliberalism. As markets open up, the ideology of the neoliberal market shapes the kinds of technologies it produces and consumes. Economically, disavowing choice is to remain in the realm of protectionism and regulatory mechanisms rather than enabling subjects to act freely in the open vistas of the free market. Technologically, disavowing choice is to remain in the realm of older forms of media attached primarily to interpretive rather than configurative approaches to the experience of media texts. Digital games begin their popular ascension and ultimately thrive within the context of this burgeoning marketized neoliberal culture of choice.
