i love that viktor is czech i love everything about it. my favourtie is when jayvik people make him call jayce a "dobrý chlapec" because they used google translate i love you so much everybody.....

a little guide on calling jayce a "good boy" in czech: "dobrý chlapec" is kinda like calling him a "sensible young man" skjdfh. "dobrý" is a very literal translation of "good", its use is like "good day, everybody", not like "a well-behaved dog". "chlapec" is super formal, it's like how heimerdinger calls people "my boy", not like anything familial or intimate.

you might want to probably use "hodný kluk", literally translating to "kind boy" or "nice boy", closer to what we use for praise. (a more casual version is "hodnej kluk", as i can't imagine they'd use formal czech in the lanes.) he could even just say "hodný"/"hodnej", as we often use just the adjective for nicknames and such. (if you ever see a slavic character call someone "hey, [adjective] one!" that's what that is, english is weird with this aslkh)

that being said: there is nothing wrong with using google translate!!! it's incredibly sweet nonetheless, i really don't mind any mistakes ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ i grew up learning english in fandom so i know first hand how hard it is :]

Podhorácko Miku!

Jumping on the cultural representation bandwagon (must say I had to look her up...) with a quick doodle of one of the least obvious Czech / Moravian folk costumes.

I mean, original idea was Valašsko / Moravian Wallachia (part of my own family heritage) but I feel like that's the second most obvious Czech folk costume artists reach for every time they want to be different and avoid the super-obvious Slovácko... Podhorácko is a rather loosely defined border region between South Moravia and Vysočina / the Highlands, where it seems the folk costume doesn't differ too much from Horácko proper and what sets the region apart is rather geography and dialect.

One thing to bear in mind is that folk costumes were never uniforms, and Podhorácko appears to be one of the regions that underline the individuality. I zoomed in on Tišnov (among other reasons like liking the town, the red and white striped skirts are striking and easy to draw) and stole some elements from an old photo of very low quality which I'm guessing is from the 1890s (based on the non-folk-costumed lady in the back), and even there every single person seems to be wearing something slightly different.

Upon reflection, not sure where I came across the beribboned sleeves because Tišnov it ain't. Ah well. If someone with better artistic skills wants to take her on, please do. Yay for cultural representation. 😀

I took photos of these photos of slag heaps from Ostrava museum because I'd never seen something like that before and they look bizarre to me. If you come from an area with a mining heritage, you've probably seen a slag heap before...

There's one in Ostrava which still stands and not only that, but is like, *warm*. The thing is warm on the inside

my VISION my dream story is to write a werewolf!chase x hunter!foreman au where foreman catches chase changing and. he never really BELIEVED in all that monster stuff his dad was always talking about growing up. always chalked it up to more religious talk and disregarded it. but here is chase, who he's known for years, becoming something WRONG right in front of him and it fucks him up real bad and blah blah eventually they have werewolf sex in the hospital you get the gist. i have the ENTIRE thing plotted out so perfectly in my mind but i just CANT write foreman's voice for the life of me. he's my specialest little guy and it kills me that i cant get inside his head the way i can for other characters. i understand why and how he reacts to things the way he does i GET him on a psychological level but if you asked me to write like three lines of realistic foreman dialogue i'd be incapable of it. ill write this fic someday but until then i have to study my fucked up little guy like a bug intently under a microscope until i can put him in Situations in a way that feels true to his character.
