blaire is peak and why rusty can't write truly evil women

If you've found this post, I don't need to introduce Leasebound to you.

Instead, we're going to talk about the fandom.

Leasebound's fandom has a sort of Lemony-Snicket-esque schism, with Rusty's intended audience and (hilariously) the exact opposite. I've seen both sides of the Leasebound audience, and I've noticed something interesting.

...nobody hates Blaire.

Okay, that's a HELL of a sentence to make, and very exaggerated. I've seen 'Blaire unenjoyers' and other people treating Blaire like the Eric Cartman of Leasebound, it's an eye-catching statement that makes people read more of the text post.

But I wouldn't call it wrong, I'd give it a 'hyperbolic.'

Even on the side of Rusty's intended audience, Blaire isn't loathed. I've seen many enjoyers of Blaire who either talk about how much they went her to talk gender to them, so to say. On the flipside, the worst interpretation of Blaire is a misogynist who pushes her activism on other people, which is more or less her canon intent.

But if Blaire was as bad as Rusty Hearts portrayed her, I don't think we'd see so much art of Blaire. In fact, I put down a poll, and Blaire pretty much took the #1 spot for the 'character with the most fanart' almost instantly, beating out characters such as Jaden (who took silver), Riley, and Violet. And it pretty much sticks!

I've seen a lot of Blaire fanart from the Leasebound tag on both sides! I've seen a lot of Blaire discussion and discourse on both sides, either about the possibility of a redemption arc, a rewrite, thirsting over her, etc.

So...we can pretty much say Blaire is a bad strawman.

Strawmen are supposed to be one-note characters the main cast is supposed to be more interesting than and can fight with no pushback. Blaire is massively popular across the board in the Leasebound fandom, has discussions about her that are multi-layered, and has wonderful fanart from people that really like her.

Done. That's all.

But we're not done. We need to keep talking.

Rusty Leasebound is very good at some things. Her chapter focusing on Shez had emotional, gut-wrenching art, and there is a definite appealing quality to the way she draws things.

Some things, atleast.

But Rusty is not a great writer. There's tons of other essays and an entire discord server that can point all the flaws in her story out enough to write an epic worthy of the Mahabharata. Leasebound has largely forgotten what it is to be a mouthpiece for her political opinions, its characters are one-note and one-dimensional, she focuses on the wrong things at the wrong time, and many more that will make my fingers cry as I type this. But I want to focus of Rusty's tendencies to tell, not show.

Blaire is not evil. She's not even Maleficent or Ursula or Cruella evil. And she's no Makima either. Blaire is just a woman passionate about her beliefs, and makes the mistake of pushing them on other people. That's not evil, that's a flaw. Women cannot be perfect all the time.

But we're meant to believe she is evil. In this panel of the Actor!AU, we are TOLD by Rusty that Blaire is meant to be evil.

Blaire isn't evil! Come back to me when she puts a living creature in a blender, or something!

While the statement is understandable, you're using it in the wrong way! Because there is no reason for the casual Leasebound reader to ever believe Blaire is evil, the way you portray her!

(Yes, casual Leasebound readers exist. Quinty's one.)

And there's multiple occasions of this 'tell, don't show' narrative Rusty keeps pushing.

For example: Meriam.

Meriam is told to be the protective, strong mother, but I'm not sure that's entirely the case.

Meriam has serious flaws in her parenting that is never acknowledged. Shez was made to basically worry for her siblings at a young age, which sounds horrible for a young girl.

(side note: criticism of the comic has often lead to more interesting, and realistic plotlines for leasebound to include.)

She's obviously traumatised, and it shows in her parenting. When she shuns out Rissa and her boyfriend; that's not good! If Rissa wants her family by her side, she won't get it because she's marrying a man. Meriam always keeps Shez on the pedestal like she's Luisa from Encanto.

Nobody asks how's Shez. Someone help Shez.

And there's so much more!

We get snippets of Riley, a MAIN CHARACTER'S backstory from one-off panels and dialouges, but we heard the majority of it from Rusty in the comment section, Rusty confirming fan speculation, the cast page, non-canon panels, etc. Nothing in the main story!

And that just makes Riley...really boring. The most interesting part of Riley is Blaire right now, and that's REALLY bad, considering we're supposed to dislike Blaire.

Blaire and many others of Rusty's characters have fallen into one of her biggest writing flaws' clutches, but it's interesting as to how fan perception and works have essentially made one of the most three-dimensional characters of the comic, aside from Jaden. And that's one of the main problems with Leasebound.

I want to end this with an open letter. I don't know if she'll read it, but if you do:

Listen to criticism, and find out what's wrong with your comic. Tune in to different parts of the fandom, even when you don't agree with them. At the heart of the war, we all share one thing: reading your comic. Don't take that for granted; many amazing, better written comics would love to have the attention you have. Your art is good. I enjoy reading Leasebound when it's about the characters, not how we're supposed to percieve them. You have something; harness it before it goes away! And at the rate Leasebound is going- it might go away really fast.

when i first met him (over 2 years ago), he was introduced to me as her bf (they broke up the same year)

and i have this thing that it doesn't matter how much a person is my type. if the person is introduced to me as someone's romantic partner, i do not feel attraction at ALL. like i dont feel anything towards the person, its like im looking to a wall

so obviously i didnt even pay attention to him (and im not saying this to sound cool or whatever is just how i function really)

then, earlier this year, one of my best friends (the one thats his childhood best friend) celebrated her birthday twice, the second time being at a restaurant with less people, so its more intimate

he was there. i was there. sitting in front of him.

and i want to preface this by saying that during that time, i was reaching the 2 year mark of not feeling any kind of romantic attraction towards anyone

(also i do suspect that im somewhat in the aro spectrum but that's not the point)

so i was not used to having crushes anymore, and i didnt know what to do?????? like he was there suddenly being an attractive human being and i was like??????? uhm hello. sir. hi.

and then this man started being funny. like hes HILARIOUS

but i wasn't able to really talk to him bc im a rather shy person and i was also reconnecting with an old friend that went to the celebration too!!! so my focus was on this friend rather than mr dawson impersonator

so on that night we didn't interact much

then, i started liking another boy (who is a friend of mr antonio). a different one. and the dawson impersonator isnt really someone who i see a lot, so i kind of forgot about him and focused on this other boy, who i saw more and its also very nice!!!! (nothing happened between me and him bc i cant talk to him for the life of me but that's ok)

then, my friend (the one i reconnected with) decided to host a halloween party, and since (in my head) i was alrwady over irl dawson, i was able to talk with him freely and that was my worst mistake because this man??????????

ok. lets go from the beginning.

there i was, a bit tipsy but very much conscious and happy because i was cruella!!!! and i finally went and got my oreo hair done so i was feeling great

in the beginning of the party i was already comfortably talking with mr tonio but nothing more than just being in the same little circle of people talking altogether and answering each other sometimes

after like one or two hours, i went to the party host friend and said "idk if its the alcohol but im considering telling you who i like" and i was referring myself to the other boy™️, not mr dawson

and he was like "i think i know who it is by elimination" and HE WAS RIGHT???? like wtf that was insane but not the point

then we left the room and went to the kitchen to get some things done for midnight bc one of the guests was going to turn 20 or smth so the host friend had a cake etc etc

i went with him to continue talking about it and started being dramatic (as one does) about how im so predictable and blah blah blah and i have this thing i like to do that is:

if im having a conversation with someone and im complaining about something, and a third clueless person shows up in the middle of the conversation, i will complain to them with no context

real life antonio showed up.

and i said, dramatically

"im so predictable, [his name], im so sad"

but i was not expecting him to be so fucking curious and interested about it?????

he was all like "why are you predictable?" and then i didnt answer ofc and he said "if you really were predictable, id know what youre talking about."

i was a bit taken aback bc i wasnt expecting such?????? interest????????? and then i said

"im predictable to my FRIENDS" (in a friendly jokingly funny way i swear that it wasnt rude or anything. he is literally not my friend we've seen each other less than 10 times and we've know each other for OVER TWO YEARS)

and he completely ignored that and went on to wanting to know what it was and we started a little banter that sounded basically like this:

"im not telling you"

"but WHY"

"i cant tell you why bc if i tell you why youll know what it is about"

"no i wont" (he said that confidently alright. his tone wasnt whiny or anything like that he was SMUG)

"yes you will"

"cmon tell me"

i was already back on the couch scrolling on my phone peacefully but then this man just THROWS himself right next to me with his arms crossed, tilts his head to look in my direction and asks

i immediately rolled my eyes and laughed bc GET OVER IT???? and also bc it was infuriatingly attractive but THAT he will never know

and then we just talked and talked and it was less banter-y than the first talk but god it was just as fun

I know there's a lot of talk about Disney princess' hanging out, but I was wondering what villains you think would get along with each other, and also what hench people, for reasons that are beyond me I'm absolutely taken with the idea of Iago and Creeper interacting.

Ok! Took a bit but I think I figured out how they’d all line up

So Queen Grimhilde, Maleficent and Lady Tremaine I think would actually all get a long. Not really friends but they do respect each other’s power (and pettiness against young innocent girls) and I can see them being allied in any sort of dark plans.

( Maleficent’s definitely the most powerful but she can respect a woman with power as long as they’re not going up against her. And Lady Tremaine if we include Cinderella 3 actually also has a pretty powerful dark magic ability once you get a wand in her hand so I think she fits here as well)

After them there’s the group I actually think would have fun together though they’d also totally all be down to stab eachother in the back if needed and they all know it:

Ursula, Yzma, Jafar, Dr Facilier, and sometimes Hades. He wants to be the Boss since he’s a god so he has a harder time working together but they all have the same sort of ‘wealing dealing having fun while ruining lives energy’ and I think they’d have terrible evil fun

Gothel, Cruella and Madame Medusa I can kinda see in this too. They’re looked down on by the others as they don’t have magic (or arnt very good at it in Gothel’s case) and they’re all so self obsessed they don’t play well together but they gravitate together because of this?

The Queen of Hearts finds Madam Mim hilarious and Mim likes her manic energy and the Morva witches sometimes hangout with them too when they deign to hangout with anyone besides themselves.

Hook and Long John obviously bond over being pirates though they have very different views on children—though John kinda gives leeway for going after an immortal kid who cuts your hand off

Rourke, Clayton , Radcliffe and Sykes all get drinks together sometimes though they’re not really friends as each thinks they’re secretly better then all the others—Gaston sometimes gets in on the group to talk guns and the army and making shady deals to get what you want but his running egotistical dialogue usually gets him booted out after a while

That’s when he usually gets taken aside for more drinks by Mcleach who also tries to talk to Clayton and non half drunk Gaston about hunting but Clayton thinks he’s a low class tramp and doesn’t give him the time of day and sober Gaston finds his lizard creepy.

The only person who actually likes Mcleach’s company is Alameda Slim, (the only fun part of that aweful cow movie) and Mcleach is the only one who likes his yodeling

The Horned King is above anything so mundane as friendship with any of these petty sorcerers and wouldn’t deign to hangout with mere witch women, let alone human mortals, so he just molders somewhere. Sometimes he’ll speak with the Coachman as a fellow demon.

Frollo also sees himself as above everyone else for a mirad of reasons and so keeps to himself—though he usually does end up glaring (ogling) various of the witches. Gothel and him would honestly probably get along great if he could get over the witch thing. They have similar parenting styles.

Edgar and Amos Slade, despite being very different types of men bond over being the only actually normal sane-ish people in the villain pub and hating animals

(And Scar, Shere Khan, and Ratigan are all in the back hanging out as well—the first two probably try and eat Ratigan at some point)

Ummmm honestly I think Hans (pre my Frozen 3 storyline where he learns the follies of making shady deals with spooky magic users) also thinks he’s above the rest of the villains being a prince and all but he definitely tries to get in good with any and all of them he thinks could help him get him power and honor and such. I think Gaston actually likes him tbh, the rest of them either think he’s fake and look down on him for it or think he’s fake and can admire his initiative/ acting skills

Hey Aira, I had a fun idea and I was wondering what you think of it. All of your posting about Oliver and Company leading up to your audition has reminded me of one of my absolute favorite Disney songs, which is Perfect Isn't Easy, the one Georgette sings (sidenote: I want a bed like hers so bad xD).

Years ago I thought of how fun it would be to have a human version of that song, the sequence is hilarious, and I wanted to ask you who you would cast as Georgette, assuming that she really is as hot as she thinks she is. Like who do you think has the right face, body type, even mannerisms lol. I just think it has the potential to be real fun and your castings are always very interesting so I was just wondering 👀

I... can't help but think of Cruella x'D And not just the animated Disney one, but the live-action ones too. No, Georgette isn't straight-up evil, but there are certain mannerisms and the way she speaks, that she can be manipulative, that she's kinda attractive in a I hate that I love her kind of way and that she, underneath all that elegance and charm, has massive anger issues x'D

Another reason I can't help but compare her to Cruella is also that while Cruella might not be conventionally attractive, she is STILL somehow attractive - mostly Emma Stone's version, but hell she has some panache no matter how portrays her and ugh I just can't help but love her.

As a sidenote, I don't know if I've ever said this before, but I unironically love the Emma Stone Cruella movie. If you go into it, not as a prequel or origin story of the animated Cruella, but the first live-action Cruella with Glenn Close, it really is somehow magnificent. I love this movie to my very core, and someday I WILL be making a fan edit with both Emma Stone and Glenn Close. Animated Cruella is fine, but godDAMN Emma Stone and Glenn Close have my little bisexual heart in an iron grip xD

tai is the daughter of sleeping beauty who has issues with supernatural sleepwalking, presumably a strange holdover from her mother's curse. she's not entirely sold on lottie's idea, but she tries to give it a chance, at least. if there's anyone who feels stifled by every bit of auradon's pomp and circumstance and Why Don't You Find a Nice Prince or Nobleman to Settle Down With? it's tai.

lottie, tai, akilah, laura lee, and mari are The Tourney Girls. there are some other extras out there but they are the main ones. airbud is the next most important player. he doesn't talk he's just there barking and being Amazing At The Game. travis is there but he hates it. like, absolutely HATES IT. he is so bad at tourney but there aren't enough good players for his dad not to have an excuse to make him play. tai akilah and mari really resent him for Being There, Sucking, laura lee is kind because she feels like she has to be, but lottie actually really likes him. she doesn't talk shit so travis talks nothing but shit. javi is always around just chilling in the stands and drawing. he goes to the attached auradon middle school.

misty wants to be the equipment manager and do lots of Cool Things TM for Cool People TM but her mom wants her to do certain fairy things. and she HATES IT.

natalie- okay so natalie is mal but she has a different backstory. maleficent did not want to deal with raising a kid, but since abortion does not exist in descendants, she dropped the kid off with her dad and peaced out. the dad was clayton from tarzan and natalie never knows who her biological mom is because her canon mom is around and married to clayton. things go basically the same as yellowjackets canon where a year before the events of descendants clayton is beating her step mom and nat gets the gun and he accidentally puts a bullet through his own head. her "step mom" that she never knew wasn't her bio mom throws her out on the streets with nothing but the name of her bio mom and nat, angry and hurting, goes directly to maleficent's lair. maleficent, who never wanted to have a child, is more than happy to have an angry, powerful teenager who presumably killed her shitty ex.

jackie is evie and mrs. taylor is the evil queen. she grows up with all of evie's Must Be Perfect Wonderful Wife conditioning, the knack for poisoning and subtle manipulation, and the love of fashion, but she has source of solace in-

shauna, from a narrative standpoint, is carlos. she's not cruella's daughter, though. shauna is the daughter of one of cruella's goons (take your pick). on the isle there is a very strong expectation that henchkids become henchmen, and this, of course, does NOT work for shauna shipman and her sixteen different complexes. her dad tries to conscript her into following around and doing cruella's kid's bidding at a young age, and it... does not work for her. she has a violent little outburst and then runs away, living on the street and killing animals to eat for a while. she finds jackie instead. perfect, wonderful, Almost Fit for Auradon princess jackie. they clump together and shauna moves into their castle, under the pretense that she's become jackie's handmaiden. (a princess needs a handmaiden, darling). this chafes too, but with jackie's insistence that it's not true, not their real relationship, not anything tangible, it's a lot easier to ignore. they go to school together everyday at the weird little isle school, and shauna is the top of their class. it's hard for that to feel like it matters, though, when the biggest currency in the outside world is fear and the biggest currency inside is Being Jackie. the resentment still happens and chafes, but it's just simmering. it won't boil over until auradon.

van, from a narrative standpoint, is jay, but she's the daughter of madam medusa from rescuers rather than jafar because. van is so white it could blind you. madam medusa has a junk shop just like she did in the world before the isle, and van spends a lot of her time super athletically stealing for it with a lot of parkour. her mother spends all the time she isn't running the shop collapsed on the couch, just like in van's canon. she doesn't really have anyone her own age until natalie, daughter of maleficent, starts upending the power structures on the island and she decides she wants in. they become fast friends, but it's always "second" and "commander", because van never met a power dynamic that she didn't jump on. they also try their hardest to make things as good as possible for the isle kids in their area, but they refuse to admit that. come on, and look weak? dumb

jackie and shauna end up with nat and van pretty soon after they become a They. natalie wrests control of the taylor castle from jackie's mother and the evil queen refuses to surrender, leading to a bitter siege. jackie and shauna finally come out to try to broker a surrender, but natalie steps on jackie's toes and then jackie turns from Perfect Princess to Top Tier Bitch. and then she's like oh shit oh shit oh sHIT i pissed off maleficent's daughter this is going to be-

and shauna's back here getting her hunting knife out like sure, maleficent's daughter might have magic but if she DIES first then she can't use it- and nat just laughs. boisterous, delighted laughter.

"i think this castle's already got a queen." then she glances over to shauna's no longer concealed knife. "maybe two?" they both blush.

natalie is torn between what she feels she owes to her mother and the other denizens of the isle, her friends (who are the most important in this equation), and then her emerging feelings for lottie. lottie who is so kind and who trusts her and is trying so hard for her and her friends, who she's so attracted to but is just using (right, that's all this is? right????) who is trying to make her own shitty society better too.

jackie is finally in the land of the royals and is trying to put all that life training to good use, but it's not... really working. we have something resembling the chad plot with jeff and something resembling the doug plot with laura lee, who thinks that jackie is very kind and deserves to be treated better (though their relationship isn't romantic). shauna is standing at the sidelines and crossing her arms and pouting. fine! if jackie wants to get her heart broken by this dumb auradon boy be my guest! i'll just. go do something else. fuck you

shauna and van both join the tourney team, because it's part of their collective How to Infiltrate Auradon Society and Get Lottie's Good Graces plan. also because shauna is very angry right now and needs a physical outlet and van has been cooped up for too long and is gonna go crazy. they're both good enough to make it and travis is like FUCK YEAH I'M FREEEEEEEE

his dad is very upset about this but shauna and van are way better than him already and it's hard to justify making his son do something the kid doesn't want to when there are better options and the nepotism isn't even wanted.

shauna and javi become friends and she encourages his interest in art like. huh. wouldn't it have been nice to have one singular adult who was nice to me? and then does not examine it beyond that. shauna also befriends tai, who tries to show her all of the things auradon has to offer because shauna is the most obviously Intelligent TM of the isle kids.

van flirts with tai a lot, but neither of them make a lot of progress with that because tai is pretty closeted and van is. not trying as desperately as shauna to try to be acceptable TM here.

by the end of the movie, they all decide that they don't want to use the wand to burst the barrier and talk with lottie about ways to help the other kids integrate over here in auradon instead. lottienat happens first, taivan happens second after van starts to commit to being in auradon and tai starts to commit to Going Against Dumb Auradon Rules like Homophobia (I'M A PRINCESS DAMN IT) and learn more about what's up with her sleepwalking with van and also nat. it takes a really long time for jackie and shauna to work things out because jackie keeps trying to force things with prince jeff and shauna finds better uses of her time and energy than worrying about it, but eventually they come together too. and crystal comes too! and she and misty become besties. and misty does not do any insane things, thnx

So, I finally my girl/love of my life/my IRL Wednesday Addams to give the show a try! We just watched the first episode and her are some of her thoughts lol

She would definitely go the piranha revenge route too if she was Wednesday. I knew this from the start, remember watching that scene and immediatly texting her "you would totally be Wednesday if somebody bullied your brother!"

She's not super sure about this version's Gomez and Morticia. We're both 90s babies so we grew with the movies (I've had a crush on Anjelica Huston since forever and She's the same with Raul Julia) and she has trouble dealing with change, but she's interested on seeing how the different interpretations play out.

She also agrees that Wednesday's relationship with Morticia reminds her of herself and ver mother, so that's another point to me saying She's basically Wednesday.

She absolutely despises Xavier lol she thinks he's boring and 'has a bad vibe', so she basically hopes he dies soon. I think She's gonna like his arc of being acused of murder (?

On the other hand she thinks Rowan was cute, he reminded her of Adam Maitland from the Beetlejuice movie (I'm also trying to get her to watch the Beetlejuice musical, I know her taste in men and She's gonna love BJ lol). She also thought his death was hilarious and "he got what he deserved! Faster than I thought he would" lol

She's curious about Tyler but mostly because I told her Hunter reminds me of one my ocs she loves lol. I honestly think she's gonna really come to like Tyler, I'm curious how the finale is gonna be for her.

And in Enid's case, she is 'wilder and sillier that I thought she would be!' in a good way, she loves the energy and she's also happy to see she confronts Wednesday and doesn't just let her win. I don't think She's gonna be a Wenclair shipper, but she's curious because she says that if she's Wednesday then I'm her Enid (I'm the happy and cuddly and shiny one with dyed hair and I'm obsessed with wolves since forever lol)

A couple years ago she was in the hospital with pneumonia and she hates hospitals. She's intrigued about the murder mystery and the whole past murder plot with Gomez so we're probably gonna be watching more sometime

Favorite Pairing: Ok I'm gonna list both my favorite main pairing and favorite side pairing.

Favorite Main Pairing: Captain Swan. You all knew this was gonna be my answer don't lie. Finally watched the Captain Swan wedding for real and it is the best thing ever. Also started season 7 officially and THEY'RE HAVING A BABY!

Favorite Side Pairing: Mr. Hyde x Mary Lydgate (I don't know what the ship name is someone plz help). Gonna be honest I don't exactly know why I think about them as much as I do. Maybe it's because Hyde is also a favorite, or because of their dynamic in general, or because I wish we saw more of them, but I just think about them a lot and what they meant to each other. I'm attached to a pairing that was together for ONE episode??? It's more likely than you think.

Least Favorite Character: uhhhhhhhhhhhh I got a few

Fiona "The Black Fairy". I did not like her. Yeah she's a villain so she's meant to be rooted against but other villains in the show are at least ENTERTAINING. Regina was an entertaining villain (and the og). Zelena was fucking hilarious (and still is as a hero I'm glad they kept that part of her). Cruella de Vil is a cruel dog murderer but I was always interested when she was on screen. But Fiona? She was just a bitch, and not an enjoyable one. I just wanted someone to finally end her. Was so satisfied when Rumple killed her for good.

Mother Superior/"The Blue Fairy". Just because I don't like Fiona and she and Blue were foils doesn't mean I like the Blue Fairy. I agree with the rest of the fandom that she was shady as fuck. She does some good things but also a lot of rude and shady ones. The way she treated Tinkerbell was awful, and her overall "I art holier than thou" attitude was just unpleasant. I could never really tell if she actually wanted to help the heroes or not, which would have been an interesting thing to think about during the show if not for her over-the-top self-righteousness.

Rumplestiltskin (Season 4, Season 5B-Season 6A. Season 7 TBD). He has had many opportunities to redeem himself and be a good person, which he claims he wants to be, but over and over again he kept clinging to "muh power." He is entertaining as a villain overall, and I do like Rumbelle, but not when he is being borderline abusive and possessive of her. I specified specific seasons where I don't like him because those are where he fucks up the most imo. 5A could have been his perfect redemption arc, and he was finally free of the Dark One Curse, but he willingly chose to take that power back. Which makes his actions more irritating in 5B. 6A Rumple was god awful. However, I am glad that by 6B he got his shit together (most of the time) and ultimately did the right thing. *I will say that I enjoy Rumple the most when he is in full-on Dad mode. Which is part of why I like him again in 6B. He genuinely cares about his sons, and I believe him when he says he would do anything for them.* Rumple in Season 7 has yet to be determined as I have not finished it yet.

Who's Most Like Me: Ok imma be completely honest I don't actually know. I feel like my answer, if i have one, would just be me projecting myself onto the character and not actually looking at canon.

Most Attractive: Killian is the obvious choice but ngl more than half of the entire cast slays. The costume department is a big reason why. I agree with the idea that most of the budget went towards the costumes and honestly that is 100% valid of them to do.

Three More Characters I Like: Here ya go:

Elsa. Fuck y'all the Frozen arc was great and Elsa was great and she cares about Anna and Kristoff and becomes besties with Emma and doesn't understand talking phones with Killian and she's great and I may or may not have shipped her with Liam (the first) at one point even though there is literally no way that could ever happen but consider this: it'd be cute.

Zelena (Season 5B and onward. Season 7 TBD). I mentioned how she was a very entertaining villain but ngl I think she's even more entertaining when she's on the heroes' side. She still has 100% of her sass, it's just now directed at people who deserve it. Like Fiona for example :D. I also love when she and Regina work together and help each other. I also believe, like Rumple, that she genuinely cares about her daughter, and seeing her go mom-mode is great. Overall, I think she became a much more likeable and enjoyable character after 5A, and especially by mid 6A. Zelena in Season 7 has yet to be determined as I have not finished it yet.

Lily Page. So from what I've seen online I'm not the only one that was hoping to see more of her after Season 4, right? I thought she was an interesting character, and I'm happy she finally reunited with her mom, Maleficent. Lily being her daughter was a plot twist I don't think anyone expected, but I really liked it! I would have honestly loved to see an episode where Lily and Emma, and maybe a few others, go searching for Lily's dad. They introduced that arc for Lily in the Season 4 finale, but then it didn't go anywhere. (Ok so I have been spoiled that it's revealed in Season 7 at the very end but I wish we got more than that ngl). I like Lily, I just wish we got to see more of her.

I grabbed Deuce's hand!!! As to why?

Well when I first started the game, I legit had NO info on any of the game outside that it's Disney and neither boys so I did not know who's hand to grab let alone how important this would be (which no sadly... honestly this should be important in the game)

So I just went with what I would think would be the best??? I settled with choosing someone in Heartslabyul cause I do like Alice in Wonderland a lot, and then grabbed Deuce's hand cause he looked like he was gonna be a normal guy who's probably serious with schoolwork and such but have a softer side. (No legit I thought of this for Deuce when I first looked at him)

Would I choose someone else if I could do it over again???

It because of course of the references to Dr. Facilier and Cruella de Vil. They're not my most favorite villains of course, but the reference is what I like about them and how they're design

alright my ten followers, i saw the live action remake of disney’s “the little mermaid” yesterday and here are my thoughts!

first thing, i have to get this out of the way on the off chance a racist comes across my blog - halle was AMAZING as ariel. i swear she sounded just like ariel at parts, and she 100% had the voice and skills for the part. not to mention she’s literally gorgeous??? i love her as ariel, 10/10

sebastian has a trini accent instead of a jamaican one and it’s fucking hilarious to me, ok? i’ve only seen a few people comment on this, so maybe some of y’all who aren’t caribbean may not have noticed, but his accent changed, he has a trini accent now and i LOVE IT. idk if it’s just bc i’m guyanese and know more trini people than jamaican people, but this was pure gold to me. i loved it, idc what people say, it’s too good, and even if you don’t actually like the change, you can AT LEAST say it’s funny

the cgi wasn’t too bad, honestly! “under the sea” was pretty gorgeous at times, but nothing amazing 100% absolutely divine

we got so much ursula lore in this and now i NEED a cruella/maleficent-style movie about ursula. calling triton ‘big brother’??? mentioning something that happened 15 years ago (when ariel was born/a baby)???? introducing herself to ariel as ‘aunty ursula’????? i NEED this movie. NOW. also idk if i’m biased bc i think melissa mccarthy is funny but i thought she was really good as ursula!!

i liked the depth they gave eric here!! he had a backstory, a song, and an actual character!!! he was cool, amazing job

as someone who was literally obsessed with the original “the little mermaid” when i was like 5, i may be biased here, but i loved this movie! i feel it was pretty good for a cash-grabby remake of an old movie, and in my opinion it’s probably the best of the live action remakes. (do not even MENTION live action “aladdin” that movie was AWFUL)

a little detail i just HAVE to mention that i didn’t really like - they changed the names of all of ariel’s sisters :/. i loved all the actresses and designs, they’re literally all gorgeous, but i wish they all had their ‘A’ names because it just added a lot more to ariel’s want to get out. with the whole ‘A’ name thing, it seemed more as if she was predestined to be part of a set and not her own person, which added to her desire to go to the surface. just a minor detail, didn’t really affect the movie too much, but i was a bit disappointed at that

overall, i enjoyed this movie a lot! it wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely very enjoyable for a movie that’s literally just a soulless tactic to get disney more money. i’d rate this a solid 8/10, only because of the name thing and the fact that, y’know, it’s a remake. it was an all-around good movie and i think i’ll be doing the same thing after i see the barbie movie! thanks for reading this long post, the one follower who actually sees this
