Since October 7, our lives have completely changed for the worse, as the occupation deprived us of the basics of life, including: “water, electricity, education, health...”

Many families were removed from the civil registry, children were killed, and the elderly and women forcibly displaced citizens from their homes and burned and destroyed their homes.

The occupation left nothing but destroyed it. The war continues in the Gaza Strip and our lives are getting worse day by day

Hey - what about [historical figure]? How could you forget [historical figure]? This is erasure!

We didn't forget, we promise - this is the first of several installments of this project. After the absolute stress of the last Kickstarter when we had 300+ different SKUs by the end of the project, we decided to take a more focused approach to Historically Queer. We attempted to provide a good cross-section of identities, and will continue to expand in future projects. Spider has a huge folder on his computer full of planned pins and reference images.  

But historically...

Yes, we know that it isn't totally proper to use today's terms to discuss people who lived a long time ago. But also, how else do we talk about our community history in a way that's understood, and celebrate our shared queerness, other than to use the words and iconography which are understandable to us now? We celebrate our shared history with the words and understandings most accessible to all of us, and we hope that by providing not just the pins but a few elementary facts about these historical figures, we'll encourage people to read more about them in their original context.

hi  everyone  ..  my  name  is  amara  and  i’m  an  eighteen  year  old  nonbinary  person  who  just  got  kicked  out  of  my  home  .  my  step-father  somehow  logged  into  my  personal  computer  while  i  was  away  from  the  house  and  went  through  everything  .  he  knows  everything  ,  he  knows  that  i’m  queer  ,  he  knows  about  my  partner  ,  every  little  secret  that  i  kept  hidden  about  myself  to  protect  myself  …  when  i  got  home  ,  he  was  in  the  process  of  ransacking  my  room  ..  started  calling  me  horrible  transphobic  and homophobic names , said i'm no longer allowed to  live  under  his  roof  .  he  told  me  to  get  the  fuck  out  ,  all  while  my  mom  watched  and  didn’t  do  or  say  anything  to  defend  me  or  stop  him  .

my  older  sister  is  letting  me  stay  with  her  which  i  appreciate  so  much  but  she  is  a  single  mom  and  she’s  already  struggling  without  me  adding  more  to  her  plate  .  i’m  trying  to  finish  this  final  year  of  high  school  so  i  can  get  my  diploma  and  go  to  live  with  my  partner  .  i  have  $75  saved  up  from  babysitting  but  that’s  going  to  go  so  fast  with buying  my  own  groceries  and  necessities  .  i’m  going  to  start  selling  my  art  soon  but  in  the  meantime  ,  i  could  really  use  some  help  ..  if  anyone  can  send  a  few  dollars  to  help  me  stay  afloat  until  i  graduate  ,  it  would  mean  absolutely  everything  to  me  !

This beautiful book is going to have illustrations for the stories, which are collected from most of the Valdemar anthologies, plus the novella from Herald's Companion.
