I am so excited that Synapse's release of this film is finally available!

You can order it with the limited slipcover at DiabolikDVD, which is a seller I highly recommend in general.

I had sworn off buying any other movies for the rest of June at least, but I had to order this one.

[Note: This appears to just be the US cut, but it features "Deleted & Alternate Scenes" so hopefully that gives us at least a tiny glimpse of the original cut of the film]

The great thing about this movie is that this poster art is both entirely accurate and hilariously dishonest, thanks to the crocodile constantly changing size.

All these shrinking stories to me feel like when your friend is into something that you’re not into and you respect your friend, you’re giving them the thumbs up from the other side of the computer screen, but you’re just not that into it

Gotta respect Nack being all, “Eh, what can Sonic do like this, anyway?” It’s typical villain setting themselves up for failure talk, but even so

Sonic can at least do this

After a short fight scene, Sonic decides his best bet is to try to grab some of the shrink stuff from Nack’s hat and use it on him instead

I’ve made the “I’m just a little birthday boy” meme reference on this blog before already, so I’ll refrain on this occasion, but know that it was the first thing to come to mind

Just like in the Tails story with Slimy, this is genuinely horrifying. Thanks for the childhood trauma, StC :’D 

Anyone not familiar with StC may be asking themselves at this point if they just essentially killed off Nack the Weasel for real. It’s a spoiler, but the answer is: …no! The shrink stuff eventually wears off and he returns to normal, back to being a villain involved in future shrink ray stories - and even a whole shrink ray-related arc - later in the comic

The Chaotix are restored and then it’s back to the mission

I mean, I still think your whole asteroid plan is pretty weak and isn’t going to work, but I also hope that the Omni Viewer will be okay

Vector is as morbid about this as I am

But at least for the time being, the problem is on hold

We end on the gang musing what might come about if their plan doesn’t work. But in the meantime, Sonic’s still stuck here and he’s going to have a lot of time to have adventures with the Chaotix. Including next issue, where we’ll be diving into StC being one of two Sonic comics to make Charmy a prince
