in the spirit of impending halloween, can you go off about overrated (or underrated) candies?
im gonna go out swinging and declare at the top of my lungs that i hate red candy AND blue candy and quite often green candy. strawberry flavored candy is on thin ice but usually not bad. and before you're like woah what the fuck. prepare to die on this hill with me fucker. im allergic to food dye, esp red n blue. not like, severely, but it gives me migraines, and combined with a billion other triggers, shit like birthday parties n valentines day were vomit bummers of a repeated nature when i was little.
so then like, at halloween, i'd have to give my little brother all my red n blue and often green candy, and being a little brother, he was piss poor at trading, and it was a whole thing.
SO WHAT"S GOOD ACTUALLY?
chocolate except for like, almond joys, mounds. im not a coconut guy. snickers are fine. caramel fucks, peanut butter is good if it isn't a bitch to get out of the wrapper, i like crispy bits, nougat rules. pretzel m&ms fuck. the best easy to get chocolate is the hershey symphony almond n toffee bits bars that are ginormous, but like, actually decent chocolate rocks the socks. i got a bar of tony's chocolonely the other day and it was like fucking, strawberry cheese cake flavored and usually im a milk chocolate, then white chocolate, then.......................................................maybe slightly dark chocolate person, but god i ate the entire thing in one go and i had no regrets except for that it was gone
peach anything! chewy orange candy, lemon candy, strawberry candy (if you are offended on red and blue flavored candy's behalf please come take it off my hands the next time i have a variety bag). skittles, starbursts, etc. also like, sour gummy worms/octopi, watermelons, sour patch kids. also also tootsie rolls, which kind of straddle the line between one and two taxonomoically
rock candy fucks, good texture. chocolate rocks are the same. lollipops but only like four flavors and i don't fuck with mystery. pop rocks (again like. three varieties) are cool. bubblegum is a probably.
grape is a hard maybe. as are smarties (chalky), nerds. nerds are like eating aquarium gravel so you have to be in the mood. i'll eat like three candy corns and that's plenty. mint chocolate heavily varies. peanut stuff, gotta be in the mood for it. mega sour candy is probably a no, as is like...gooey things. i don't do like, gushers etc. wrong texture.
no: cherry anything, blue raspberry anything. no mystery flavors, cause you never know when it's gonna kick your ass. no coconut (texture), dark dark chocolate (bitter), spicy (spicy), coffee anything (bitter). if you are upset about it give me your mailing address and you can have any of mine you like (joke)
also i never eat candy from like, the dollar store, tj maxx, craft stores etc, and if it has been in my cupboard too long bye bye. im also not gonna eat like, chocolate flavored wax product.

Decided to post for the 12th of October day. A little drabble of the Ll with MC in the frightful month.
Felix Iskander Escellun
Gentle boy is stoked for a month of disasters waiting to unfold. Magic spells to test on Sage.
Custom costumes you help him make on the whim to wear throughout the spooky holiday (gnome, wizard, vampire *again*, skeleton, shapeshifter, or reaper) so many choices to ruin him in by scaring him senseless for every day on the calendar.
Participating in a wine game you two created by saying a Halloween festive word (neither can repeat words you or the other have said already. If so, take a sip. The winner is the least drunk or the one who hasn't taken the last sip of wine from the bottle. *hint* it gets heated to the point your both yelling at each other slurring your words. "I said caramel popcorn a minute ago. You-you rough rider of cheating thespian's!!", he snarls at you wiggling a finger. Furrowed brows you smack his hand, " My poor sir, you're the one who stole my word first. I...MC was the one to spit it out first you pumpkin headed looney!!" *hic* stumbles over each other to fall together in a fit of giggles. (Anisa in the background. "You two had enough for the night."😅)
Decorating the manor and halls with Felix's taxidermy creations he spent his valuable time on. He feels accomplished more so than taking a nap 20 minutes ago in your lap. Send rapid fire on praises till he passes out from your sly smile. Breath down his neck to spook him and to see his pout. Give his taxidermy names or nicknames for fun. He's never felt more appreciated than right now for his creations.
Tell him he looks ravishing. Don't be shy. He lives to hear your sweet words. Kiss his rosy cheeks after hugging him from behind to show off your costume. Twirl for him. Admires you respectively.
Care for a treat. Has pockets full of peppermint sticks with caramel lollipops to hand out on a whim you had a sweet tooth. Feeds you and pinched your cheeks. Sometimes will lick his lips to make you wobble on your knees. Giggles...he truly is a nuisance in his own hollow way.
Grabs your hand to go to his homemade fort he made for the two of you to read for a restful night of mischief in fantasy land. He listens to your voice on repeat. Sometimes creates shadows with his hands to roleplay a scene for your eyes only. Very invested on nailing his characters by adding dramatic effects. For extra scenes you tell him to save the special scenes for when the two of you are alone. His face is stuck in a red hue for the rest of his waking days.
Anisa Anka
Gives out candy to any kids who visit her at the marketplace she volunteers for the monthly festival of Pumpkin season.
Loves to carve silly faces in the pumpkins or apples she finds to decorate for the month. You two actively engage on one-to-one fake duals to put on a show for Porriman dwellers for entertainment purposes. The crowd finds it out of this world. Cheers and claps can be heard from every direction. The two of you are pleased but sweaty to the point you want to pass out right then and there.
Her costume (Alien, Minnie Mouse *her favorite*, Jack frost, dragon tamer, mother nature, and cowgirl) Please tell her her legs and thighs are lovely beyond words. Bow down to her. Please do. She is so charming in the seasonal colors.
Massage her shoulders while she drinks her pumpkin spice latte you made for her to warm up. Watch her shoulders relax and a sigh escapes her. Tell her to wear booties you bought her to shuffle around in on her days off. Sit her by the fire and hold her till she falls asleep.
Making candy apples with her. Some of the caramel and melted candy are burnt but the apple is crispy. Add whatever additional sweets like candy corn, chocolate, peanuts, fudge or strawberry syrup you wish to add to fill your stomach with.
Telling you cursed stories she's heard from her "fellow" knights that ends up looking her for the rest of the day. PARANOID. She is on high alert for any criminals or drunks though you try to grab her attention to let her enjoy herself for once. "Crime never ceases, Mc. Don't forget that I made a vow to stand up to protect you myself," a timid smile presents itself on her round face. "Neither does JUSTICE!," hands entwined a laugh escapes the two of you as you venture toward a new adventure.
Classic till the end. She will want to conquer her fear of clowns. At the end, trials and error, she just pulls you closer into her chest at night with a candle in her hand. Bed sheets clutched around the two of you in matching nightgowns. You worry at her wide-eyed stare at the dresser in front of you, until she falls asleep with her eyebrows raised.
Sage Lesath
This man is unhinged for the entire month. Keeps his tail away from Stella and Urchins roaming below his thick ankles. Admires pranks. Despises Halloween pranks or Felix's experiments that target him during the cold season.
He has you tied to his hips at all times. Searches for wanted criminals for bigger bounties. Secretly saving up to buy you two accessories for your homemade outfits. (Would dress as a nymph, mafia boss, banshee, werewolf, samurai, or lizard man). At one point he accidentally kept tearing the fabric of his costume. You just fix it throughout the day. Grateful for your patience with his messy self. You assure him his claws are the minimum concern and that you just want him to enjoy being apart of the experience.
Mazes are a BIG no! Him and tulsi tried it when they were younger. He immediately lost her. Then again, his sense of smell was not trained to pinpoint a person and rather for food. You wave off his frowning face. Drag him to an cartoon artist. Eases his worries and struggles to sit still for a while. You have to legit sit on his lap for him to focus on his attention on you. The artist draws you two with funny expressions. More saliva coating down sage's chin staring at you with googlely eyes. You two laugh for a couple hours showing off your new favorite picture.
Has zero tolerance for magic unless it double-backs on Rime and felix. He recently asked those two to keep him out of any "malarkey" the two create for this month. Felix and rime tie "magical" balloons to sage's tail to wake him up stuck to the ceiling. (Cue meme: Are those Helium Ballons?...Yes) He curses the silly boys laughing their butts off on the slime-stained carpet. You and anisa sip your tea with your legs crossed marveling at the trio before you.
*gasp* karaoke!! At any bar you two visit that sage isn't banned from...you dance clumsily upon the drunk patrons. Will dip you occasionally to lift you up by the thighs and spin you till you puke. Sorry not sorry. He will definitely have sour candy in his pockets to snack on when you take a break to clear your throat. Kisses your forehead and leaves you to ponder on his swaying tail wrapped around your waist. Grab his collar and smooch his neck. He spits his drink out. Mission accomplished.
Throw pumpkins to see your strength endurance. You make a game of it. Who can throw the farthest? Later, you and he bake the seeds to share with the others. And if there are leftover intact pumpkins you bake a pumpkin pie. Yum!
Can and should give out candy to urchins that knock on the door of Fanthom. Spook them a little. Compliments every single one's costume or respects those who did not wear a costume. Sometimes doesn't notice the same kids coming to the door. They switched costumes with each other to fool the cat man who gives out a handful of candy. Luckily, sage and anisa bought three bags of candy earlier the week before. Hug him forever and thank him for his existence.
Rime Solano Varela
He should be the definition of terrifying with his lack of empathy and psychopathic tendecies. He's slowly working on it with you. Anyways you made him a costume. (I can imagine him as a ninja, plague doctor, assassin, spy, shinigami, or wendigo). Compliments you to the extent he can see the pomegranate tint coating your entire face. He haunted his threats and killing you for now. Just in case, anisa and felix confiscated his knives for the coming holiday. Shrugs his shoulders in irritation," Excessive but fair."
Absolutely! Plays! Pranks! No one is safe. Ask you to help him for the sake of getting sage and the others. Mostly sage. You probably don't witness the glimpses he takes in your direction when you look away from him. A smile escapes him from time to time. He contemplates your relationship to the point in time (wherever you're at in the frenemies era). Sociable to you little by little about felix mainly. Maybe you or himself one day.
Scares crows or black cats off. He's not superstitious. He just doesn't want the mess in his personal area or surroundings of mischief. Twirls a pocket knife. (MC sweats in background)"Relax. If I wanted another corpse hanging over Fanthom, you are the last decorative ornamental I want to show to the world," his smirk makes you slap his butt and run up ahead of him in a huff. Shock for a second. Then chases you into the forest to pin you down. *cough* thats all I'll tell you.
Sets up Fanthom tower like a haunted house to obnoxiously scare people for his amusement. *hint* Do Not ask him were he got the"fake" blood from. Intentionally has skulls along with felix taxidermy to hang on the stone walls or ceilings. Scented cinnamon candles are a must. Oops, a hand in the winery. Not really, it's a ice hand he carved to expand his devilish inquiries.
Has a couple spells to mess with you. For example, one day you decide to cross boundaries and touch his cold hand. As soon as you grab his hand you feel bolts of electricity shock your core. Ouch!! He loses it at your attempt to punch him in the chest. Later, you get him back.
Drinks warm apple cider with a cinnamon stick clinking glasses with you. Dresses with a thick black wool crop top. And Burgundy pants with chains dropping on the side. A pink shawl is tied around his waist to cover his swishing tail. Works on training to keep up his abs. Will never give that up. His words, specifically. You can't blame him. A little jealous of his work effort and diet schedule. He still eats caramel and chocolate candy.
Without knowing you two fall asleep on the couch waiting for Felix to make lemon tea. With the rain padding the windowsill outside and the romance novels, you read lull you two to sleep. When felix returns with a tray of tea and snacks he sees you drooling on rime's shoulder. And him nuzzling into your ruffled hair. After you two wake up you're both in denial. He continues his work with a furrowed brow and you as well. Felix shakes his head. Although, the deer's white speckled face burns brilliant in the fall season for his outlook on life is surely changing for the better.

Halloween is coming, which means candy!! Nobody is too old for candy. Why, even grandmas enjoy an occasional butterscotch, and so do I! What kind of candy do the mercs like?
Pyro: anything with chocolate (peanut butter cups, chocolate bars, snickers etc.)
Scout: bubblegum, taffy (specifically the grape flavor), and also malt balls.
Sniper: not really a fan of candy but he will enjoy a lemon drop from time to time.
Medic: anything blue-raspberry flavored.
Heavy: candied fruit (namely candied oranges).
Engineer: root beer gummies, butterscotch drops and (sometimes) candy corn.
Demoman: anything filled with caramel.
Soldier: chocolate lollipops (he calls them ‘Freedom Sticks’).
Spy: claims he doesn’t like candy, but in actuality he loves any kind of chocolate that has a crispy wafer inside.

In Canada, these are the top 22 Halloween candies
In Canada, these are the top 22 Halloween candies
Trick-or-treating is a beloved childhood tradition. When kids dig through their pillowcases or plastic pumpkins after a long day of going door-to-door, it seems like everything is a treat. With Halloween just around the corner, we wondered: What are the most popular Halloween candies in Canada?
Here is the list>
1. Milk Duds
Halloween is no dud with Milk Duds. It is packaged in adorable little boxes of three or four and given out to tens of thousands of trick-or-treaters each year. During Halloween, about 9,732 pounds of these chocolate-covered caramels are sold.
2. Life Savers
Life Savers have been around for more than a century. It's an oldie but a goodie, with an average of 11,987 pounds of Life Savers sold during the holiday season.
3. Almond Joy
There are times when you feel like a nut, and there are times when you don't. It is estimated that 32,744 pounds of Almond Joys will be sold on average this Halloween. Apparently, almond joys sell much better than their nut-free counterparts, as Mounds didn't even make the top 25.
4. Blow Pops
The ultimate two-in-one candy, Charms Blow Pops are lollipops with bubblegum centers. Is there anything better than that? Not much, since this iconic treat is so popular; about 256,916 pounds are sold for Halloween.
5. Dubble Bubble
The little barrels of super-chewable bubblegum known as Dubble Bubble are hugely popular. How popular is it, you ask? In the fall, about 150,000 pounds of this sugary treat are sold.
6. Kit Kat
Here's a fun fact: 172,663 pounds of Kit Kats are sold every Halloween, making them the 18th most popular candy. This year, the Kit Kats in kids' Halloween baskets may look a little different. As well as glowing packaging, Kit Kat has a new flavor in 2019: Mint Chocolate Duos.
7. Twix
Mars introduced Twix to the U.K., which traditionally comes in a two-stick pack. He arrived in the U.S. in 1979. Over the years, this caramel, cookie, and chocolate concoction has become a favorite of young and old alike. There have been 198,777 pounds of fun-sized (and normal-sized) Twix at Halloween over the past 12 years. That is a lot of caramel, no matter how you pronounce it.
8. Swedish Fish
What is the exact flavor of Swedish Fish? Although we're not sure (lingonberries are rumored to be in it), trick-or-treaters love the sweet, fruity taste of Swedish Fish. Each Halloween, about 202,000 pounds of these little swimmers dive into buckets and bags.
9. Milky Way
This Halloween, you don't have to go to outer space to find a Milky Way, just walk around the block. If you follow trick-or-treating etiquette, someone will give you this 15th most popular Halloween candy. Milky Ways make their way to trick-or-treaters in about 282,111 pounds this holiday season.
10. Hershey’s Mini Bars
America's iconic chocolate bar, Hershey's, is often imitated but never duplicated. What is the popularity of this sweet milk chocolate? I like it a lot.
11. Taffy
This classic boardwalk food has become a Halloween staple, thanks to Laffy Taffy. Taffy branded with Willy Wonka debuted in the 1970s and is now a staple of trick-or-treaters; about 385,000 pounds of taffy are sold each Halloween.
#12 Butterfinger
This Halloween, Butterfingers have a new recipe, but Butterfingers have always been a favorite. Every year, 388,891 pounds of these crispy, crunchy peanut butter chocolate candies are sold for Halloween.
12. Jolly Ranchers
Jolly Ranchers only weigh 6 grams, so it's crazy to think that about 950,000 pounds of these hard candies are purchased for Halloween. Seven million hard candies are equivalent to that. You can buy bulk fruit treats and hand them out to trick-or-treaters.
13. Hershey’s Kisses
Are you aware that Hershey's Kisses are produced every day in excess of 70 million pieces? To keep up with Halloween demand, Hershey will have to maintain that volume. Every Halloween, chocolate drops are the first candy to sell over 1 million pounds, starting off the top 10 with a kiss.
14. Sour Patch Kids
These sour patch kids may be little troublemakers, but there's nothing trick about them. These tart little gummies are perfect for Halloween. Nearly 1.1 million pounds of these fruity candies are sold every Halloween.
15. Tootsie Pops
The genius idea of putting Tootsie Rolls in lollipops emerged in 1931, and since then, this fruity and chocolaty combination has become a global phenomenon. How sensational is this? Just ask the people who contribute to the 1.2 million pounds of these sold on average each Halloween.
16. Hot Tamales
If you like spicy candy, you're in luck. The little red hot cinnamon-flavored chewy candies known as Hot Tamales are hugely popular at Halloween. About 1.3 million pounds of candy are sold every Halloween.
17. Candy Corn
Candy corn is synonymous with Halloween and the fall season, regardless of how you feel about it. Each Halloween, over 1.3 million pounds of this divisive candy are sold, just outside the top five most popular treats.
18. Starburst
Opal Fruit was originally called Opal Fruit when it was introduced in Britain in 1960. We know and love them as Starburst now. Every Halloween, 1.6 million pounds of Starburst are purchased.
19. Snickers
A chewy, tasty candy bar with nougat, caramel, peanuts, and chocolate, Snickers is a national favorite. Halloween trick-or-treaters will likely have their fill this year, thanks to the nearly 2 million pounds of candy sold on average.
20. M&M’s
M&M's are a classic candy. Is there anything better? Every year, 2.2 million pounds of these chocolate buttons are purchased for Halloween, whether they are peanut, caramel, crispy or plain.
21. Reese’s
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, in mini form and in pumpkin and bat shapes, are perhaps the most beloved Halloween candy, but they're only second in sales. Each year, about 3 million pounds of candy are sold in anticipation of the spookiest night of the year.
22. Skittles
Skittles debuted in the 1980s, but are more popular than ever today. With 3.3 million pounds sold on average, they're also the top-selling candy. Skittles are the most popular Halloween candy of the 2010s, but the most popular Halloween candy of the previous 80 years was quite different.

Gem Harvest Meal
My friends and I had a Gem Harvest together the day before the Steven Universe movie came out! I thought I’d share my recipes with you all in case you’d ever like to eat like a Gem with your found family. Recipes for corn, chicken, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, homemade whole wheat rolls, hard boiled eggs, and of course the entirely-from-scratch Gem Harvest Cake are all available below the cut!
See more SU food tutorials!
CORN
Ears of corn can be cooked many ways! You can shuck the corn and boil it, or wrap it in aluminum foil and roast it in the husk, but what we did was set the oven to 350ºF / 175º C, put the corn right onto the oven's racks, and roast it for around half an hour. Then peel and eat!
Tumblr media
CHICKEN
Obviously a turkey also works, but we made chicken since we only had three people (and one who doesn't eat meat!). This is my friend's recipe for chicken.
Ingredients:
Whole chicken
1 small onion
Several sticks of celery
Several small carrots
Salt / pepper / garlic powder / spices to taste
Oil or butter
First, you preheat the oven to 375° F / 190º C. Prepare the aromatics first: Peel and quarter one small onion, and cut up the celery.
Take the chicken out of its bag and remove any giblets from the cavity/neck. Pat chicken dry with a paper towel and pull out any stray feathers. Salt the cavity and stuff with onion, celery, and carrots (or any other aromatics). Cap the cavity with foil.
Oil or butter the chicken skin all over and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and any other desired spices.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bake at 375° F / 190º C for 12 to 15 minutes per pound until an instant thermometer reads 165° F / 75º C stuck in the thigh (or if your chicken has a temperature indicator, you can wait until it pops up).
Tumblr media
MASHED POTATOES
Make real mashed potatoes! It's worth it!
Ingredients:
Four whole potatoes
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
Salt & pepper
Peel and chop potatoes. Boil a pot full of water that covers over the potatoes, salting the water before turning the heat on high. Put the potatoes in when the boil starts. Wait until the potatoes are soft enough to mash with a masher (about 15 minutes), then drain and mash in the hot pot.
Tumblr media
Melt the butter into a cup of milk, then add to the potatoes and mash until creamy.
Tumblr media
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Tumblr media
GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE
This classic casserole is a fantastic vegetable complement to a heavy meal!
Ingredients:
1 can (10 1/2 oz) Cream of Mushroom soup
3/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 cups cooked cut green beans (we used 2 cans)
1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions
First, get a baking dish that can hold 1 and 1/2 quarts. Mix the soup, milk, and pepper in the dish.
Tumblr media
Next, drain the beans, then stir them in with 2/3 cup of the crispy fried onions.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bake at 350º F / 175º C for 30 minutes. Take out, stir, and top with remaining onions!
Tumblr media
WHOLE WHEAT ROLLS
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/8 cup honey
2 medium eggs
1/2 cup buttermilk or milk (room temperature)
2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
Tumblr media
First, make sure the water is above 100º F (37º C) but less than 115º F (46º C) and dissolve the yeast in it. While waiting for the yeast to dissolve, mix the butter and honey together and cream--either with a stand mixer using paddle attachments, or manually. Add the eggs and mix that in, and then add the warmed milk with the yeast mix.
Add 2 cups of flour and the salt. Mix until it's combined evenly. If you're using a stand mixer, use the dough hook here for 2 to 3 minutes, and if you're kneading manually, do it for at least 5 minutes. Add more flour a couple tablespoons at a time until the dough is not tacky.
Tumblr media
Let the dough rise, covered, for an hour. Then turn onto a floured surface, knead briefly, and let rest a few minutes before dividing into a dozen pieces. Butter square dish and throw the balls of dough in to let them rise (covered) for another hour.
Tumblr media
Then bake at 350º F (175º C) for 20 to 25 minutes.
Tumblr media
HARD BOILED EGGS
I boiled six eggs like this: Put cold water in a pan until there's enough water to cover the eggs by about an inch. Boil the water. Once it's boiling, add eggs cold from the fridge. The water will briefly stop boiling. Wait for it to start boiling again and wait 30 seconds. Then turn the heat down to LOW and put a cover on the pot. Let the pot simmer for 12 minutes.
Then turn off the heat, remove the eggs from the water, and put them in ice water. Let them chill briefly, then peel.
Tumblr media
GEM HARVEST CAKE
Gem Harvest Cake is a three-tier cake covered in buttercream frosting and spouses!
Since there was no peek inside the middle and bottom tiers, I took some artistic license and made the bottom a chocolate cake, the middle a lemon cake, and the top a vanilla cake (to match the yellow cake we see in the cartoon).
The Gem Harvest Cake has its own separate recipe page for in-depth directions and recipes, but here is an abbreviated version:
Bottom tier: A ten-inch chocolate cake with two layers.
Tumblr media
Middle tier: An eight-inch lemon cake with three layers.
Tumblr media
Top tier: A six-inch vanilla cake with three layers.
Tumblr media
Make each cake according to an appropriate recipe. Cakes can be frozen if they will be made on different days and will be made a while in advance of serving.
When all three tiers are made and defrosted if previously frozen, first you need to level them so they are flat.
Tumblr media
Then you make buttercream frosting. You'll need a white batch and a pale pink batch.
Tumblr media
Use the white for a crumb coat; frost between the layers of each tier, stack them neatly on round cake boards, and apply a crumb coat using a cake turntable and a bench scraper.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Refrigerate the cakes for a bit before applying the finishing frosting. Frost the tiers with a layer of thicker white frosting on top, followed by pale pink frosting around the sides, smoothed with the bench scraper.
Tumblr media
Then use a piping bag and various decorative tips to apply scalloped frosting and frosting shells to your liking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once all three tiers are frosted, measure the placement of cake dowels and balance the tiers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, apply spouses!
Tumblr media
These spouses are made from a lollipop mold using white chocolate. You can use plastic ones if you can find them, or make your own.
Tumblr media
Enjoy the Gem Harvest with your nearest and dearest!

Cutie Reviews: Tokyo Treat July 19
Hello all, welcome to July’s Tokyo Treat review!
Besides the fact I’m in a different place taking these pics, I don’t have anything else to say so we’ll just get straight into it.
Tumblr media
Also, because I accidentally cut it off, July’s theme is Life’s A Beach.
“With warmer weather on the horizon we were feeling super inspired to bring you a summery box filled with snacks ready for a beach day! This month you’ll be receiving a lot of fun treats and a taste of summer in Japan. We hope this yummy selection of sweet and savory snacks inspires you to go outside and enjoy your treats in the summer weather!“
So in my rush to get these pictures ready, I ended up not getting the Prize or Lucky Treat pictures. So to summarize, Lucky Treat heavily focuses on Kindom Hearts with a dash of Pokemon. While I was lucky enough to win the September one, I can’t deny that this would probably have been the other one I really wanted. Meanwhile, July’s prize features figurines of Sanji and Trafalgar Law (my favorite characters, along with Luffy, Ace, and Perona) in One Piece, and some smaller Pokemon figures for the runner-ups.
As usual I won’t be reviewing the DIY candy kit (see top pic) because we’ve had it several times before and I think I already covered it on the blog anyway.
-------------
Melon Cream Soda
Tumblr media
(Sorry the stand is a mess, this pic was last-second and I was in a hurry, and no the drink in the background is not the same one as on top, it’s cola).
Perfect for summer, we have a refreshing melon cream soda. It’s a really pretty pastel green color, and it’s very foamy on the top which helps emulate the cream soda vibe. It smells like fizzy melon candy (and tastes like one too), and it’s very light and refreshing with a small hint of vanilla in the background.
If you don’t like melon then you probably wouldn’t like this- but if you do then I think you would love it.
Crushed Poteco 4-Pack
Tumblr media
If you read the blog before then you will recognize these; we get them fairly often and I won’t be reviewing these because I’ve done it a handful of times.
They’re cute, tasty little potato rings with a slight saltiness, but as good as they are I’m pretty sick of them <_< I actually gave all of mine away because I really didn’t want them.
Soda Soft Candy & Sherbet Perot Cider
Tumblr media
I love soda candy and I can’t think of anything more lovely for warm summer weather than cooling, refreshing blue sweets~
First we’ll start with the Sherbet Perot Cider, the equivalent of the cola-flavored lollipop with fizzy candy that we got either back in May. It consists of a neutral-lightly sweetened lollipop with powdered candy you can tip it in, giving it a vaguely fizzy and sweeter, almost sour taste. This specific one is 44.5 calories.
Much like the cola one, I think it’s really yummy. I love the taste of the powder with it especially because in my opinion the lollipop on its own isn’t sweet enough- but like the cola one, I find myself completely forgetting about the powder and just sucking on the candy.
------
The other soda candy we got are these cute spherical soft candies. But what makes them special is that they have a hint of lemon for an additional pinch of sweetness~
The entire bag is 63 calories, which seems about right since you get a handful of them. The pamphlet describes these as sweet and sour, but unless you let them sit in your mouth for a few minutes, you taste no sourness- and honestly, they didn’t taste as good as they do if you just chew them up from the beginning.
Mini Chocolate Bat
Tumblr media
Next up is an item I’ve had before, but it’s been a really long time so that’s not too bad. These have been around for a long time now if I recall, but I’m not sure if they’re popular. For the entire box (or one stick, not sure) its 51 calories, and each crunchy stick is coated in a thin layer of chocolate, they remind me a lot of those yellow cake donuts... if they were stale and hard.
These aren’t bad or anything but they aren’t sweet either. I love dark chocolate and I can appreciate not having a sugar buzz as much as the next person, but sometimes you just want sugar too, you know? I feel like this would be good with coffee though, and it was nice of them to give us a box, making them a nice little item to bring to a get-together with a friend or two.
Chocolate Mint Candy & Peach Mint Kit Kats
Tumblr media
To go with all of our refreshing green and blue sweet snacks, we got two more, but these are of the mint variety!
Our first item is inspired by delicious Hokkaido mint chocolate ice cream (my favorite~!) and takes the form of a spherical hard candy. I know the picture makes it extremely hard, but the candy actually has brown dots covering them to emulate the ice cream. The inside is filled with a cooling white powdery substance, but you don’t have to wait until you get to the center, because there is a tiny hole in the candy allowing the flavor to seep out.
Per-candy or bag (I certainly hope bag), the calories are 290.
These are very yummy but I’m not sure they would be enjoyed by those who aren’t big on choco-mint. They mostly taste like chocolate with a hint of mint, and I really like the cooling effect. The hardness of the coating seems to vary between candies though, because I noticed the first one I could bite through the middle no problem, but the second one was a lot more difficult.
-----
Next up is another kit kat like usual. As much as I like these I tend to get tired of them too, but I believe last month we didn’t have one so it isn’t that bad. Anyway, this is a PREMIUM kit kat blend, which means its slightly more special or pricey or something. Each pack is 63 calories, and i love the pretty mix of pink and mint on the packaging~
Before getting these, it never occurred to me to think of a combination like mint x peach. I thought it sounded strange. The outside chocolate oddly resembles cookies and cream while the inside is pure mint, and they are deliciously amazing!
As I said, it sounds unusual, but it’s really good. As soon as you bite into them you get hit by the refreshing peach, followed by a combination of mint until you’re left with a cooling sensation. I recommend these if you can find them!
Anpanman Grape Gummies & Sour Peah Gum
Tumblr media
Our refreshing fruity theme continues with these two fun, colorful candies. I’ve had these both before so I don’t think I have too much to say, I’ll start with the Anpanman. These are fun grape-flavored gummies that come in 24 various poses and characters, and each pack is 62 calories.
I was really confused with these, because of summer and them being gummies I assumed they would be inedible because they were stuck to the plastic/wax paper. But it turns out the paper can dissolved! It’s very weird, but my mom pointed it out while I explained my issues with it, and while having them in my mouth it would just slide right off. I wasted half of the pack until finding this out <3< but I am very glad I did because I wasn’t very impressed when I opened them.
------
Next is a really fun gum roulette candy that came out a couple of years ago :3 Basically, you have 3 gums (I’ve tried a few flavors so far, but Peach is the only one I’ve had twice now) and each one is different: one is sour, one is sweet, and one is normal. There’s no physical way to tell them apart, nor do they have a scent (except for what the flavor is, in this case peach). The only way to find out which is which is to chew them.
I like sour candy, and I also love sweetness, so this is really fun and the gum quality is pretty good, but the flavors only last a few minutes. This was how I felt about each piece:
Sour - It gets worse the more you chew. I love sourness but Japanese sour candy seems to involve salt; my mouth was starting to feel an extremely faint numbing burn. I never really considered myself a wimp when it came to sour candy but this stuff is on another level; but because it died down fairly quickly, it wasn’t unbearable.
Normal - Sweet and a little cooling. It actually didn’t taste too much like peach but the sour might have ruined my taste buds at the moment :P
Sweet - A lot like the Normal piece, but slightly more peach-ish.
Umai Sugar Rusk & Sour Cream and Onion Doritos
Tumblr media
Recognize the guy on the Sugar Rusk package? He’s our adorable Umaibo friend (by the way, am I the only person who thinks he resembles Doraemon a little?), but now he’s featuring a sweet rusk snack. Each pack is 209 calories.
I don’t usually like rusk snacks, but these are tasty. They’re light, crispy, and sweet with a hint of butteryness. The calories for this are high but they’re delicious, would recommend.
-----
Now, where I live Doritos are not uncommon. We have tons of flavors (my favorite being the original, and the sweet and spicy), at one point we even have mix-flavor bags. I really miss those, but I never met a Dorito I didn’t like so I was excited to get to try something new. Each bag is 277 calories.
These are based on sour cream and onion, which is not something new to me. I used to really like it and the dip with the same flavor, but besides these foreign things I get lately I don’t actually eat too many chips- except for when I’m in the mood for some Doritos since it’s actually my favorite American brand.
These taste really good. Pretty different from the sour cream and onion I’m used to though; they have a garlic-onion-ish taste and while I hate onions (mainly the texture of them), that didn’t really bother me. They actually kind of remind me of the cool ranch Doritos.
Tonkatsu Sauce Umaibo & Texas Corn Okonomiyaki
Tumblr media
(This pic is different because my original was corrupted, which I discovered when I went to save it to my computer.)
Our final 2 items of this months box is a delicious Umaibo I’ve had a few times. It’s Tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) sauce flavored and it’s AMAZING. It’s my second favorite Umaibo flavor behind corn potage, I really recommend this one if you ever get a chance to try it out.
The flavor itself I can’t really describe, but it has a hint of spice. I want to say it’s a bit like a smoky barbecue-soy sauce? It’s not salty though.
----
Lastly is a bag of Texas Corn snack in Okonomiyaki flavor. Okonomiyaki is an Asian Dish best known as a savory pancake. It’s a combination of dough and vegetables, sometimes with meat (bacon is pretty popular), noodles, or seafood, then its fried and covered in things like sauce or pickled vegetables.
These smell kind of similar to the Umaibo, but with a tangy addition and it’s very strong- but the flavor itself is extremely light, it gives me a plain dough (and this next part will sound crazy) and apple cinnamon...
Yeah. I don’t know what I’m on these days o_o
♥ Cutie Ranking ♥
Content - 3.5 out of 5. I nearly-loved everything, but I am scoring it down because there was a handful of repetition and two items I refuse to forgive for seeing again for the millionth time. Call me petty but when I look at the content featured in Japan Crate’s box, I feel like its kind of a rip-off because they always have a bunch of unique new types of items in the boxes.
Quality - 4.5 out of 5. Everything was fine, items were good and tasty and nothing was damaged (including my umaibo, which lately has been suffering), while everything but one item held up being open a bit late, a couple of them went stale fairly quick after opening. BUT they still tasted decent so I didn’t entirely mind. I’m only mentioning this because I’m not a person who inhales everything at one or shares them with others. My snacks tend to last a while.
Theme - 2 out of 5. I thought they kind of failed this time around. The theme was perfect for summer, but when I think of the beach I think of flavors like pineapple, mango, coconut (I hate coconut so I am thankful none of that was included), other fruits, and maybe grilled flavors. The mint, soda, and melon flavors were great for the theme to provide a refreshing and light taste, but I wish they had played that up some more.
Total Rank: 6 or 7 out of 10. Lately the boxes are improving I think, I keep liking them more and more and I really loved this one (with the exception of the poteco rings and the DIY, they’re good but I’m just tired of seeing them!). The flavors are all very yummy, but the items correspondence with the theme needs some work. Let’s see if they do better next month with our last of the 3 summer boxes this year :3
♥ Cutie’s Scale of Yummy ♥
1. Tonkatsu Umaibo - It’s a unique flavor but it’s so good! I can only imagine what the real sauce tastes like~
2. Soda Soft Candy - Soft candy is much better than hard in my opinion, I love candy like this. They tasted so good x3
3. Sour Cream and Onion Doritos - I love Doritos and these were no exception- I do wish the flavor didn’t linger in the mouth so long, but it’s not horrible.
4. Sugar Rusk - These are like the sugar rusk Umaibo, and they’re very tasty.
5. Peach Mint Kit Kat - I love the pink and mint pastel color scheme and for such a unique sweet combination, I thought they were perfect together.
6. Sour Peach Gum - Delicious, but the flavor dies down very quickly. I like the texture of the gum.
7. Sherbet Perot Cider - Very yummy, but I wish the lollipop was a little sweeter.
8. Chocolate Mint Candy - I’m not big on hard candies like I used to be, but these are unique and I love the cooling effect.
9. Anpanman Grape Gummies - I love grape and I thought they were too cute not to eat~
10. Melon Cream Soda - It was really good but when I have melon things I feel like I have a point where I lose interest. I’m glad I split this with someone else because I’m not sure I would have drank the entire thing on my own.
11. Texas Corn Okonomiyaki - I like the texture but the weird apple cinnamon cereal vibes I was getting weirded me out.
12. Chocolate Bat - I hated these initially but the ore I ate the more bearable I found them.
13. Poteco - I’m extremely over these... thankfully I know people who like them or aren’t as picky.

31DoHF: Chapter Four
Hunk had shown up to pick up Pidge, and after that the call got awkward and the others hung up as well. “See you soon.” Lance closed his computer, frowning, and lay back on his bed. This was all very weird. Strange was another word for it. He tried to think of any possibility of who those messages could have been from, but whenever he had the faintest idea it was snatched away by logic. The boy sat up, glancing around his messy room. They had mice in the house on occasion, from dirty floors and mysterious messes from years of kids. Was there any chance one of them had gotten a hold of his phone and was running all over the screen? That was stupid, but it soothes him for now so he went with it. Maybe it wasn't that important anyway. No one was in his house except him and soon it would be his friends too. Lance got up out of bed, putting on a pair of jeans and a new hoodie instead of the one he had slept in. Better. Tomorrow was Halloween and they had much to plan for, so Lance went downstairs to start finding snacks and such to eat while they brainstormed. Pizza rolls, Sabritones, and candy corn. Candy corn was nasty, but he knew some of the others liked it so he added it to the coffee table in front of the couch. They could drink juice boxes. Shiro showed up first, carrying some bags and he smiled, “Hey, Lance.” The boy beamed, “You brought candy!” The older man chuckled and nodded, “Keith got mad and claimed he was going to poisons our candy so I brought some leftovers from my house.” Allura was a big fan of Halloween, especially giving candy to trick or treaters, so there was always an excessive amount. Lance liked that about her. “Hunk will be happy about this.” Lance stated, even though he had already taken the bag and started looting around through it. He found a lollipop, and stuck it in his mouth with a hum. Shiro made a face, “Lance, you haven't even had dinner yet.” Oh great his Dad instincts were kicking in. Lance made the face right back at him, “Shiro, it's not even four o'clock yet.” The college man rolled his eyes and smiled, “Alright then.” Following Shiro came Hunk and Pidge a few minute later, and lastly, Keith. Lance hopped on that one real quick. “Why are you last? You literally live a few blocks away.” Lance crossed his arms and smirked, accusing silently. Keith glared at him, “Your stupid street dog chased me a few more blocks than I intended, AND it took my candy.” Lance gasped, “Yankee? No, he is a sweet stray and you're just jealous that I love him, and hate you.” The boy with the Mullet threw his thumb over his shoulder towards the door, “I can leave.” “Run to your---” “Lance!” Shiro cut in, sliding between the two who were nearly forehead to forehead now. “Be nice, or at least civil. We've got work to do and you can't bicker the whole time.” “Watch me.” The argument ended there though, as Hunk explained he had all their tools and wires and more that they would need out in his car. Following that statement, the gang filed outside to begin their project. The goal had changed sometime earlier that day, from scaring every kid that dare cross the houses path, to seeing how much candy they could have left by the end of the night. Shiro also had the adult idea of putting a sign in front of the house that told adults who could read that all of the sounds and window and door opening were not real, and run by mechanics. Way to take the fun out a little, but it made sense so that they wouldn't get in trouble or be reported. “So Keith, scream as loud as you want.” Lance smirked, glancing at his friend/rival and everyone groaned. “That's disgusting!” Pidge exclaimed. It was a wonder how anything was gotten done as the hours progressed in the crispy October scenery. Shiro was probably best at keeping them on track, until they'd discovered a leaf pile and devoted themselves to destroying it. It was fun. The sounds were working, windows we're opening by themselves, and floorboards were creaking. This was going to be the best Halloween ever. Lance made sure of it. “Ewww! Lance, these leaves were dirty.” Hunk complained, although he was grinning and had leaves stuck all over him. The rest of the gang was in a similar state. Leaves crunched into clothing, sticks and leaves in their hair. They all laughed at each other, until something stopped them. “Guys, I'm bleeding.” Eyes shifted to Keith, who was crouched in the leaf pile, holding his arm. “I think I got scratched by some sticks.” No one had planned on anyone getting hurt, and as they swarmed around their friend they saw he had three even scratches going vertical down his forearm. It looked too perfect to be a scratch from sticks, and that seemed to be on everyone's mind. “Let me---” In a mere instant, everyone's hearts leapt in their throats. Breath hitches and bodies jumped. Wide eyes turned with bodies to look, and shaking forms of sudden alarm trembled in their cool autumn weather. Behind them, all of the windows had slammed shut simultaneously, echoing through it the yard. What spooked them most, since they hadn't set the door up to do so and there was no breeze… ...was that it slammed too.

Facts About Twix Candy Bar
Tumblr media
Facts About Twix Twix is a candy bar that was introduced in U.K. in 1967 and U.S. in 1979 and had been known as a Raider bar in some places until 1991 despite concerns over the change being a marketing ploy to some. This type of bar features a cookie center with a caramel topping all covered in a milk chocolate coating. Two of these bars come in each package. Twix bars come in many varieties including a version with a chocolate cookie and a peanut butter topping. Various other forms have appeared too including mint, ice cream and double chocolate bars. Twix is one of those pieces of candy that many folks can remember craving and seeking out as children.  The shiny wrapper around the those two Twix Bars was just too much too resist for many an adolescent - and to many an adult as well.  Eating some Twix with a cold glass of water or with some almonds or pancakes is simply the best.   Buy TWIX Peanut Butter Bars Now All production of Twix takes place in Cleveland, Tennessee.  In the 2012 and 2013 time period the size of the Twix in the United Kingdom dropped from 58g to 50g. In late 2018 Twix launched a new candy bar.  The Twix Triple Chocolate hit the market in the late fall of 2018.  It is packaged and configured just like the original.  Immediately folks started to try it out and debate how it fares compared to the original.   How Many Calories In A Twix? Twix Cookies are the best method to receive your fix of chocolate and caramel. This is one of the reasons why the candy has been so successful over all these years. Cutie Reviews: Tokyo Treat April 19
Okay, so it occurred to me that I accidentally marked last months TokyoTreat as February <3< I hope that didn’t confuse anyone like it did me. . .
Tumblr media
“Happy Easter to our awesome TokyoTreat family! We hope you’re ready for an exciting mix of treats in your box this month. We have a number of sweet and savory treats for you and pulled together a box of treats we hope will get you into the Easter spirit! Lookout for some special fruity flavors, crunchy crispy texures, and an all-around fun box! Are you ready? We certainly are, so please enjoy this month’s Easter Surprise box!“
Lucky Treat & Contest Prizes
(I always forget to take these pics, but since I had room I decided to get them before starting :P)
Tumblr media
For this months Lucky Treat we have a whole plethora of Pokemon-themed goods x3 from sweets and snacks to home goods to various random knick-knacks and cuddly new plush. This would be perfect for any Pokemon fan.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, the prize features some adorable shiba, and some Pokemon desk figurines. They all look like a lot of fun~
Sakura Cola
Tumblr media
Our first item is this really pretty pink Sakura Cola drink. Now, originally we were supposed to have a Banana Yogurt Fanta drink, but because of everything related to the box being curated months in advance and the last-minute switch, this new drink wasn’t put into the booklet. Instead we got a note about it, explaining that because this was such a new drink and everyone has been requesting Sakura-flavored items, they had to include this.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
I wasn’t disappointed by the last-minute swap in drink items, and I love this shade of pink so I fell in love with this drink quickly. Unfortunately, as pretty as it looks... its taste is weird.
It’s sort of like... a really light or bland cola, with a faint floral aftertaste that lingers. I can’t really say it reminds me of previous Sakura/cherry blossom tastes I’ve had. It does have a smoothness to it though, and I feel like the more I drink the better it gets. But it’s still a little weird to me.
---
Our DIY for the month is a Chocolate Banana Soft Candy DIY kit we’ve already had before. I think around last Easter or some months ago, I do remember it though so I won’t be doing a review post on it. It’s great if you like easy to no instructions and like banana- but it tastes very artificial to me and the only part I like is the chocolate and candy...
Tohato Caramel Corn Tiramisu & Good Moist Chocolate
Tumblr media
Our first item is the ever-so-popular Tohato Caramel Corn in Tiramisu flavor. This chocolate is baked with cocoa flavors and those in the tiramisu dessert, and it’s enhanced with coffee to add that extra touch.
The entire bag is 425 calories; so you shouldn’t eat these all at once or alone. I can’t say this brand is healthy, but in small doses it’s okay.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Okay, so I never actually had real tiramisu before; I think I tried it once in a set of exotic puddings I bought at the store, but it wasn’t like the actual dessert.
However, I think this tastes delicious. They’re light chocolate with a pinch of saltiness and coffee. The coffee isn’t really bitter or anything, and until reading the information i didn’t realize there was coffee flavoring in this.
If you don’t like coffee I’m not sure how you would like these; but I feel like they’re tolerable, unless you’re extremely sensitive to it.
----------
To go with these, with also have this off-brand bag of good moist chocolate, which is chocolate said to melt in the mouth. These come in circle shapes, but as you can see in the picture there are also some heart-shaped ones. I’m not sure why but I think it’s adorable~♥
The entire bag is 192kcal, and they have a crispy texture and are completely soaked in chocolate.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
See, now these actually taste bitter. They’re not bad or anything, and I like dark chocolate a lot, but I don’t think that’s what they use in these... and I found them to be meh. The booklet says they melt in your mouth (they also like these way more than I do :P), but I didn’t enjoy them enough to wait and find out. I noticed a little melting but nothing too extreme or exciting...
Okin Milk Coffee Crisps & Banana Kit-Kats
Tumblr media
Next up we have some milk coffee-flavored little crisps (that reminds me a teensy big of fossilized dinosaur heads) by coming in a cutesy bag that resembles a canned drink!
The entire bag is 77kcal.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
These remind me a lot of a cereal, like the rice puffs from the previous box. They taste good, a lot more coffee-ish than the tiramisu caramel corn and it lingers in the mouth more noticeably. They don’t taste bitter but again if you don’t like coffee you might not be fond on these.
-------
Next is an item I won’t be reviewing because we’ve had it before. These banana kit-kats are exactly the same as last years Easter box; nothing is different. They have a banana milk-ish taste I find tolerable- but I still don’t like bananas, so I usually share these ones more than the others :P
Furuta Egg Chocolate & Rice Puff Bar
Tumblr media
Our next item is a fun one- because not only does it come in this neat egg container to go with the holiday, but the egg came in a few different colors :D but as you can see, the inside candy is essentially non-marked, dull colored M&Ms.
I’ve decided not to review these ones because hasn’t everyone had M&Ms at least once? they have a crunchy non-flavored candy shell over chocolate; which tastes a bit different than M&Ms do.
-----
Meanwhile, this is kind of a not-really funny story, but when I used the rice puff in this I though it was sweet because last months were. I prefer savory rice snacks, and I was very delighted to find out this was!
Sorta, it’s made with sweet soy sauce- which is absolutely one of my most favorite things ever~
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
The only way this could be better would be if the soy sauce flavoring was stronger. But to be fair it might have been back when I got this, I don’t know, it wasn’t opened beforehand.
The flavoring is light, so I want to say it’s a great blend of both sweet and savory, because it doesn’t bring to mind sugary cereal, nor does it remind one of a rice dish. It reminded me a lot of something I had before, but I can’t think of what...
Anpanman Mini-Chocolate Lollipop & Sherbet Cola Candy Stick
Tumblr media
Who doesn’t love a good lollipop now and then? Our first item in this set is an adorable Anpanman chocolate lollpop featuring the adorable Dokinchan (my favorite anpanman character). The chocolate is half strawberry and half milk, and this is a mini one, so as you can assume they do have bigger ones. I have seen them before.
The brand is Fujiya, and this is 30kcal.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
It’s very tasty, it reminds me a lot of those yummy apollo chocolates. The only disappointing thing is that its gone in like two seconds ;P
(Also, as a side note the top piece the chocolate is on resembles Anpanman. On the opposite end is Dokinchan, they’re so cute~)
-----
Our partner item is an adorable cola-flavored lollipop in a sherbet powder. The powder tastes like soda (the blue kind in Japanese candy obvs) and it has a little bit of foaminess to it~
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Both flavors individually and together are delicious. The powder has a bit of a tanginess to it but it isn’t sour or anything, while the lollipop is sort of a mild-sweetness, so it’s not overly sugary or anything. It’s just perfect :3 I loved every second of it.
Kappa Shrimp 4-pack & Garlic Edamame Chips
Tumblr media
Our next items are both by the brand Calbee (which I didn’t realize when I took the picture, but the color should have tipped me off?), first is the 4-pack set of Kappa Shrimp, which I won’t be reviewing because we’ve already had it before.
I will say this though. Each bag is 60 kcal, and if you like light crunchy snacks and the flavor of shrimp you’ll probably like these? A few years ago I loved eating shrimp but then I got over it, and I really don’t like seafood as a whole, so these I’m... eh, with. By that I mean, they’re not my favorite, but I don’t actually hate them.
-------
I always get excited when we get Japanese Chips; I’m not a huge chip fan, but I love their unique flavors! This time we got a bag of sweet edamame mixed with salty garlic to create a lovely, delicious, and crunchy blend.
Each bag is 305kcal. Which is kind of a lot, but if you share them or eat them in a few sittings it’s not so bad.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I can’t say these taste sweet or salty, they’re actually pretty peppery if you ask me. They make me think of a really yummy garlic bread with a hint of edamame, and they have a hard crunch- which I usually dislike since it makes my mouth sore, but I find it tolerable in this case~
Dragon Bar Umaibo & Corn Potage Crisps
Tumblr media
These our are final 2 items, a special and unique Umaibo (which was part of a collab with a game I forgot the name of...) said to be “Dragon“ flavored. If you’re curious in this, I’ve seen it on Blippo.com, and the TokyoTreat online store might have them in...
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥
So if you don’t like spoilers I’d suggest not reading this next part.
Dragon flavor is actually Soda. It tastes exactly like soda flavoring and seems a little foamy. It’s very weird, but I don’t hate it.
----
The final item is more up my alley :P it’s a corn potage snack and if you’ve been around long, you’ll remember my most favorite Umaibo is the corn potage one. So whenever we have corn portage or just corn flavored anything, I always have high hopes it’ll be good~
The bag is only 48kcal, so I feel like this would be a nice snack to have because you get a lot of them per-bag.
Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
They’re very delicious~ They have a typical corn/corn potage flavor and are lightly crisp. I would recommend them if you see them.
♥ Cutie Ranking ♥
Content - 5 out of 5. Everything was very tasty, and if you like banana you’d probably love this one. Nothing tasted bad or was too intense, except for the banana items for me personally but it’s not fair to judge it on that. Quality was good, nothing tasted stale or expired, the repetition wasn’t too bad this time around either.
Theme - 1 out of 5. Here was where the box kind of flopped, yes in comparison to the other boxes I can say this one is probably the most Easter oriented, but in comparison to last year I feel like it was heavily lessened. They only gave us 2 Easter items, 1 was a repeat I’m pretty sure, and the other was similar to another item we had in another box. Nothing really special or unique...
Total Rank: 7 out of 10. The items are fine and good, again I hate banana but I don’t want to discredit it over that. I’m only really disappointed by the failure of a theme. I would otherwise recommend the box because I thought everything as pretty good. Also, as I suspected, they removed the health snack. We haven’t had it for... what 3 boxes now? So far they’ve been getting rid of everything I liked DX first the cute bonus items, then the original characters, they have also been giving us the boring repetitive DIY kits too lately so I’m not too happy about that either...
♥ Cutie’s Scale of Yummy ♥
1. Garlic Edamame Potato Chips- This one gave me the stronger flavor and quantity I wanted in the corn crisps :P the flavor is a bit odd at first bite, but addictively tasty~
2. Corn Potage Crisps - Surprisingly this isn’t my #1 of the box, but only because I wish the flavor was a little stronger and it’d be nice if we had more of it~
3. Cola Candy Stick - I wasn’t sure what to expect with the “sherbet“ but the soda flavor goes well with the cola. I love both of them together and seperately~
4. Rice Puff Bar - I loved snacking on this, but the flavor needs to be stronger~
5. Caramel Corn Tiramisu - Pretty much a better version of the below, and sweeter, but not overbearingly so like previous Caramel Corn I’ve had. I love the crispy texture.
6. Okin Milk Coffee Crisps - Honestly I didn’t have too much of an opinion of these, but I do like them. The coffee taste lingers though, so I wouldn’t recommend them to non-coffee fans.
7. Anpanman Chocolate - Dokinchan is so cute, and I love strawberry. I just wish it was bigger!
8. Kappa Shrimp - Had them before, I don’t hate them and I’m sure if you like shrimp you’ll love these.
9. Good Moist Chocolate - I didn’t hate these, but I can’t say I liked them either. I loved the heart-shaped pieces though.
10. Dragon Umaibo - I didn’t hate it, but it was so weird, in a fun sort of way.
11. Sakura Cola - I love how pretty it is but I had higher hopes for it...
12.  Egg Chocolate - They weren’t anything special but I thought the egg container was cute.
13. Banana Kitkats - They were okay but because they’re nothing new and my disliking of banana... yeah...

Halloween Candy: a beginner's guide.
It's the day after Halloween and your house is full of candy. Probably things you've never heard of. This ain't a rank by opinion and anybody who cares about how healthy the candy is needs to get a hobby. This is just an alphabetical list of all the major candy that I personally have eaten and can therefore vouch for. As a person who has eaten a LOT of candy in her time, childhood, teenagerhood, and adulthood, without diabetes or allergies, I feel I have some authority here. The only things I'm not gonna be talking about are either from countries other than the united states, off brand or unique candy only ever found in certain places, or candy I've never eaten before for whatever reason (I'm autistic and things like coconut and licorice have been sensory hell the few times I've tried to eat them, but I can and do eat most things). I'll expound on different flavors and varieties and stuff too, and this list may be edited in the future. Some bias will be present and an editorial rating/10 will be present in all items for the sake of the lulz. Without further ado, here is the list.
3 Musketeers
Fluffy chocolate covered in even more chocolate. 7/10
100 Grands
Caramel and rice crispies covered in chocolate. Sounds better on paper/10
Airheads
Pure sugar with a little bit of fruit flavor. 9/10
Almond Joys
Coconut with almonds and covered in chocolate. I hate coconut/10
Andes Mints
Chocolate with a little bit of mint flavor. Would be 9 if they were bigger but they're tiny so 8/10
Atomic Fireballs
Hot cinnamon flavored hard candy. Traumatic childhood experience/10
Baby Ruths
Nougat, caramel, and whole peanuts covered in chocolate. Compare it to Snickers/10
Blow Pops
Bubble gum in a lollipop. Not enough to blow a bubble but enough to accidentally swallow it and almost choke to death/10
Butterfingers
Crispy crunchy peanut butter covered in chocolate. If toffee was peanuts/10
Candy Corn
Nuggets of corn syrup and maybe a little bit of honey. Like it or don't/10
Caramel Apple Pops
Green apple flavored lollipop with caramel. Exactly what it sounds like/10
Charleston Chews
Marshmallow flavored sludge covered in chocolate. Not a fan/10
Dots
Tiny gumdrops. Impossible to chew but I love them anyway/10
Doves
Creamy chocolate with a variety of different flavors. I'd rate it 10 but they're tiny so 9/10
Dubble Bubbles
Cheap shitty bubble gum. Oops I let my bias show/10
Dumdums
Tiny lollipops that come in a million flavors. You can get free stuff by saving the wrappers but you'll accidentally throw them all away before that happens. Would be 9 if they were bigger but they're tiny so 8/10
Everlasting Gobstoppers
A ball of compacted sugar. Do not crunch. They unfortunately eventually dissolve. Tfw no Willy Wonka/10
Fun Dips
A stick of hard sugar and a packet of colorful sugar. Some people eat the stick first and then eat the powder with heir fingers (*cough* Chrissy Teigen *cough*) but if you're not literally insane then you lick the stick then dip it in the sugar and lather rinse repeat. Pure sugar/10
Gummy Bears
Chewy sugar gelatin in the shape of bears. Don't ask why/10
Gushers
Chewy sugar gelatin filled with liquid sugar. 10/10
Heath Bars
Toffee covered in chocolate. An acquired taste but one I enjoy/10
Hershey Bars
Chocolate. Literally, that's it. Sometimes it'll have almonds in it, sometimes it's white chocolate with tiny chocolate cookies, but it's always chocolate goodness that comes in a bigger size than Dove. 10/10
Hershey Kisses
See above but the kisses might have mint or if somebody jumped the gun, they'll be white with peppermint flakes in them. They'd also be 10 if they were bigger so 9/10
Jelly Belly Beans
Chewy sugar in a million different flavors. Depends on the individual's tastes/10
Jolly Ranchers
Blocks of compacted sugar. Will turn your tongue the same color/10
Kit Kats
Thin cookies covered in chocolate. Be sure to eat them correctly or your friends and family will literally murder you, trust me I know. But regardless of how correct the way you eat them is, they're a staple. 10/10
Krackles
Crisp rice covered in chocolate. Compare to Nestle Crunch/10
Laffy Taffys
Chewy sugar with terrible jokes printed on the wrappers. Very. Terrible. Jokes. 9/10
Lemon Heads
Tiny balls of compacted sugar that tastes like lemon. Also comes in other fruit. 10/10
Lifesavers
Hard candy shaped in a ring. Also comes in oversize gummies. You won't choke to death on it/10
M&Ms
Chocolate covered in a candy shell. Sometimes has peanuts, pretzels, crispies, peanut butter, mint, and a dozen other different things inside. What's your favorite variety?/10
Mike & Ikes
Pill shaped chewy sugar. I like squeezing them before I eat them. Sticks to your teeth/10
(cont'd)
