Even though Bulger and his siblings faced many hardships growing up, life was not all dismal as he was rebellious at a young age. He was already involved in criminal activities by the time he was a teenager and his delinquency activities were changing from minor to serious.

Bulger’s rise to infamy started during the 1950s, when he was officially aligned to the Winter Hill Gang; a dangerous Irish-Mafia gang originating from Somerville, Massachusetts. Bulger has been depicted as a relentless character with a great mind for planning, this saw him rise through the ranks and become an instrumental factor in the gang.

In the period of seventies and eighties, Bulger became a well-established power controlling the city’s criminal sphere. Bulger was forced into hiding in 1994 after accusations that he was planning to conduct hit operations had started and was followed by indictments . Despite the best efforts of the authorities to arrest him, he was not successful and he disappeared into American society and went underground for a total of 16 years using different identities.

This was thrown to the dogs in 2011 when he was arrested in Santa Monica California, where he had been living a low profile lifestyle with a long time girlfriend, Catherine Greig. While Bulger’s arrest was the start, it set the final nail in the hoodlum who was once regarded as invincible.

Trial and Conviction

It was only in 2013 when he was brought to trial and charged with ways that ranged from murder to drug trafficking. The courtroom drama played out in a sensationalized manner due to the heavy focus given to it by the media and the general public. Bulger was ultimately convicted on 31 counts, collectively with racketeering, extortion, and homicide. He was sentenced to two consecutive life terms plus 5 years, bringing his violent legacy to a near end.

The Last Drop - Chapter Three

The slums were an underground city lit by neon signs located beneath the streets of the big city. The slums were the only place Vampires could be relatively safe but as it was, the streets weren't very safe. It was far too dangerous for a human to go down there on their own and James insisted on going with her. Dawn had warned him to stay with her, that if he decided to roam off, he'd risk being someone else's meal. Dawn had tried her best to disguise him by wearing all black and a hood to cover most of his face. Yet, she knew any Vampire in a ten-mile radius would be able to pick up on his scent. James had lost count of how many times she had warned him not to leave her side. Dawn led him into a bar by the name of 'The Last Drop', she walked up to the bartender.

"Welcome to 'The Last Drop', we serve bloody Marys, and blood berry martinis and if you're hungry we've got tomato soup... No, we don't have any solid foods and yes we’re aware our all drinks have a coppery aftertaste... Take it or leave it and don't cause a fuss" A female vampire greeted her only to realize who she was.

"Samara, nice to see you, how about a clot shot on the house?" she asked.

Samara’s eyes fell on James who was lingering behind Dawn. "Who's the meatbag?" she asked.

"An old friend that is off limits… Where is Dorian?" Dawn asked.

"Upstairs, why? Is this the kinky son of a bitch who wanted in on your 'private meetings' with...", Dawn sent her an unwanted glare. "I'm investigating a series of murders," She told her. "Have you heard anything lately from the clientèle?" She asked, watching her pour a shot and slide it toward her.

"I might have had a customer or two who gloats about a new shipment of some good crimson liquid that tastes like nothing you've ever tasted... Everyone is trying to get her hands on it," Samara said. About to pour Dawn another shot when she saw Dorian gazing down from the balcony above.

"I'm afraid you have a stalker my dear" Samara smirked, motioning to the balcony above. "One more shot on the house, it's the least I could do for a dear friend of mine," She said.

Dawn downed the shot and thanked her, "Would you look after the meatbag for me? Just make sure he doesn't get into any trouble... He might like the tomato soup" Dawn laughed, making her way upstairs.
