The Last Drop - Chapter Four

Dawn opened her eyes and looked over to see James sound asleep next to her. She pulled herself out of bed. She collected her clothes and slipped out of the house undetected. Dawn had borrowed one of James' cars out of a broad collection that filled the garage. Dawn drove out of the big city. Parked the car in a parking lot before slipping to the slums hidden underneath the big city. Dawn walked into 'The Last Drop' and sat down at the packed bar. Samara saw Dawn and slid a drink toward her.

"Is the little imp around?" Dawn asked as she sipped on her drink.

"Oh dear, what did Necro do this time?" Samara asked.

"What hasn't he done? That little brother of mine is nothing but trouble lately..." Dawn said, sighing. "Is he here?" She asked, downing the rest of the drink only to cringe at the taste.

"Sorry darlin', we ran out of the good stuff so now we're back to the old stuff..." Samara said. "He's downstairs sleeping... Go easy on him, he's had a bit of a rough time" She warned her, watching her get up from the bar and make her way downstairs.

Dawn made her way down to the sleeping quarters. Where Vampires that didn't have a place to stay the day could sleep. She walked into the room and began peering into coffins, looking for her little brother. Dawn then looked over to see Necro passed out on a nearby bunk bed. Dawn could see how badly beaten Necro's face was, she could see that his right cheek was bruised as well as his left eye. Dawn grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and dragged him out of the room. Into the hallway, pinning him against the wall.

"Where did you get the crimson liquid everyone is after?" Dawn asked, "I know you don't want to be in more trouble than you already are so help out your big sister," She told him.

"Not even a hello, good morning and goodnight, bonjour, nice to see you, little brother, how are you doing?" Necro laughed nervously.

"Answer the question Necro, where did you get it?" Dawn asked.

"I got it from some blueblood member, alright..." Necro mumbled. "I don't know anything else, I swear..." He uttered, trying to remove her hands from his shirt. "I'll have you know these are brand new clothes and I'd really hate for them to be ruined with the likes of my blood..." he said, smiling innocently.

"Just tell me where you got it," Dawn said.

"You're not going to like my answer..." Necro uttered quietly.

"What trouble have you got yourself into now?" Dawn asked, looking at him concerned. "Why would you even think of getting involved with the blue-blood clan? You know how dangerous they are..." She said.

"They also pay quite handsomely..." Necro told her. "You know how hard it is to get by down here... I don't really have much of a choice" He said. "I know how much you want to get out of here, I do too and I'm willing to do anything to get off the streets... I don't ever want to go back there so I have to make my way up somehow," He said.

"Bluebloods are nothing but murderers and I know you better than that, I know you're no murderer... Help me and I will help you, when I bring in these bastards in, I will get you a deal saying that you cooperated very well, let me help you get out of this and attempt to get your life back, please..." Dawn begged.

"What if I get caught? What if they get to me and they fucking decapitate my head or some twisted shit like that?" Necro cowered, "You know how fucked up these guys are, don't mess with them" Necro warned her.

"You know I have to find out..." She said.

"You're going to get yourself killed... That and everyone else you care about, and you're going to get that meatbag killed" He pointed out. "I don't know why you care about him so much, especially after what he did to you..." He said.

"This isn't about him..." Dawn uttered.

"Yes it is and you know it, I know you still love him and I know all you want is to be human again so you can be with him, it's so... It's so... It's such a tragic love story..." Necro gushed as he put his hand on his heart. "A vampire and a human... Forbidden lovers afraid of hurting one another and it's even more heartbreaking the fact you have a past... You want him to love you so badly...", Dawn grabbed hold of him and threw him down the hallway.

Necro slid along the floor and hit the wall, he laughed at her only to see her walk toward him and pull him up off the floor.

"Please don't hit me, I'm fragile..." Necro whimpered.

"I will do worse if you don't show me where you got the fucking shipment from... Give me something to work with" Dawn tried reasoning with him. "I will do worse to you if you don't tell me where" She threatened.

"Promise you'll make me a deal..." Necro whispered to her.

"You're my little brother, you know I would never let you down..." Dawn said, they shook on it before Necro pulled her into a hug and squeezed her. "It can only be you, they'll sense that meatbag from a mile away..." He told her.

"Fine, but you better start walking fast..." Dawn told him.

Soldier (John) is a rookie cop and Spy (Jules) is a local escort. John patrols and gives out parking tickets near the street corner that Jules frequently works at. John unintentionally becomes a crooked cop by refusing to arrest Jules. Despite regularly catching Jules breaking several laws, such as selling stimulants and engaging in illegal prostitution. John always let's him off the hook and finds himself routinely monitoring Jules work appointments from afar. While monitoring the handful of sketchy clients Jules encounters on a weekly basis, John finds himself infatuated with the alluring criminal. John offers to escort the rogue home and often goes out on lunch dates with him. Slowly becoming Jules close friend and unexpected bodyguard.
