DNI: NON BLACK PEOPLE!!
So…y’all seeing the Antiblackness jumping out of the nonblack people in the Free Palestine on tiktok and other social media platforms(mainly Twitter)?
Like it’s crazy how all this started because Maya Ayooni came at a Black woman, sicked her 2.1 million followers(some of which are still on Tori Griers page today), did a whole live framing her as an angry Black woman and just being condescending overall, then making a quick little apology video that had the comments locked so there’s only ten of them. Then a bunch of non black people and even other Arabs(unsurprising tbh) started jumping on Black people collectively. It’s absolutely disgusting that I’ve actually seen someone call Kamala Harris a white man in a colored woman’s body(she’s biracial but come on now) to referring to other Black people as melanated people.
And Maya’s butt had the nerve to repost this tiktok calling Black people colonizers which by the way is the same video calling Black people, melanated people.
@queen-shiba
Here’s some links with the TikToks that started this whole mess:

I first watched bridgerton last month (all seasons for the first time), and the racism in fandom caught me by surprise somehow. there is always some to be expected in any fandom, unfortunately. but with black (light skin) leads and important characters, I expected a little different, I suppose.
anyway, this is about the general hate towards the actor portraying John Stirling. it is absolutely insane. It's driving me a little mad. He is so good in the role ! wdym he's not attractive??? you eurocentric racist freaks can't see beauty in dark skin, and we are sure of it. he was adorable in the role, btw. (saying his portrayal is akin to horror or that he's too "feminine" I SEE YOU ALL)
tbh I wouldn't have cared if all they did was call him unattractive (because theres the plausible deniability regarding racism). to go the next step and spew casually racist nonsense?? in 2024?? the fandom demographics are so obvious. sick sick people.
maybe it's the general state of this fandom idk I just got here but???? we need to bring back shame

Me: Don’t use black oppression to push your hate for fictional characters. As a black person I’m telling you that’s uncomfortable.
Lorcandidlucienwill: I don’t care there’s nothing wrong with using antiblackness and applying it to fiction.
Me: don’t use derogatory terms when talking about black people. The term “blacks” is a historical derogatory term that was popular during segregation and the Jim Crow days.
Lorcandidlucienwill: well it’s not like I’m saying the n word so it’s not a big deal. You people make everything racist.
Me: mocking the way black people feel towards derogatory terms being used to address them is ignorant and dismissing their feelings with “you people make everything racist” is racism. Using black oppression for your own benefit but in the next breath refusing to listen to black voices when they try to educate you about their oppression is disgusting.
Lorcandidlucienwill: w-w-well you’re just calling me racist because I don’t agree with you.
Ps. They also did say that shit about it not being that serious because they didn’t say the n word.

Fandom Racism
If you don’t want to read this, unfollow me and anyone else who is black. I’m not playing with y’all.
I’m tired of nonblack people writing Sam Wilson in predatory roles and minimizing his trauma and need for healing and therapy like everyone else - especially given that he is a black man first, veteran second, and these are canon-based fics. If you don’t understand that nuance, literally don’t write him until you can.
Yes, I just read some shit that said Sam’s pain was okay because it wasn’t worse than Bucky’s and that Zemo is some kind of generous white martyr (mind you, he used Bucky and Sam the whole show, felt no remorse for killing the black king of a black nation, and is based off of Nazi comic material). And this isn’t an uncommon occurrence.
Black and brown fans don’t have an escape because we have to experience racist bias in real life just to then read it and writers want to cry, “It’s just fiction!” instead of doing the anti-racism work on themselves. Art includes the manifestation of real thoughts and systemic biases. Art is not an excuse.
This fandom has a lot of work to do. It’s not enough to have ‘good intentions’ when you’re still putting biases back into the world that are harmful. You’re different from your grandparents, cousins, uncles? PROVE IT instead of whining when black readers are tired of dehumanization of blackness.
PS. anti-racism is a life-long journey, not reading an article and a book and calling it a day. This also extends to POC who engage in anti-blackness. Do better and check your cousins. I should not have to.
PS2. This is not only Sam Wilson, but almost every fandom that has black characters, popular or not. The issue is widespread, Sam just happens to be where my particular offense lies at the moment given that I engage with his character often.

what’s really disheartening about the maya/tori situation on tiktok is seeing maya adopt white supremacist suppression tactics (the fake smiling, tears, and the muting of tori) in their dialogue. to me at least, this just shows that the way non-poc leftists have been centering themselves in the movement of palestinian liberation here in the united states has been not only successful, but welcomed, going off of the reactions to the livestream.
historically, black american activists have been some of palestine’s biggest and longest supporters. activists and diplomats like ralph bunche was critical of the development of israel before they (israel) even declared themselves a state. malcom x was deeply tied to the palestinian cause, eventually visiting gaza before his assassination. james baldwin, angela davis, the black panther party, and more recently, the ferguson protesters have all had close ties and even direct communication with palestinian liberationists. there legitimately has not been a bigger or more vocal group in america for palestinian liberation than black americans as a whole.
the lack of intersectional interest in the face of kamala harris’s campaign has been insane. the assumption that black americans are ignorant to harris’s sins as attorney general is so far from reality that i am genuinely in awe. black americans were more affected by her stances in california than any other minority group, and the assumption that we forgot is so baffling that i am almost speechless. kamala is not a perfect candidate, however, many lgbtq+, black, and disabled folks can recognize that she is the lesser of two evils. neither candidate is ideal, but it is common knowledge that third party candidates have no chance of even denting the polls this close to the election. (for even the smallest chance of a third party candidate winning, we would have to start voting in every election year round, big or small, but that’s a conversation for another day!) so that leaves us with the 2 big party candidates. the american government is so deeply entrenched in the foundations of israel that realistically, this is not a one election catch-all. the best we can do with this election is harm-reduction, not elimination. it is NOT ideal in any way, shape, or form, but it is a base we can develop on. trump is genuinely terrifying for the idea of democracy, and the fact that people equate that whole mess to the harris campaign, is so lacking in common sense that i genuinely had to take a breather. freedom of speech, civil liberty, and the right to protest are in the direct line of fire in this election cycle with the current rise of trumpian laws being put in front of both congress and the supreme court.
intersectionality is based on the idea that we can limit the harm to oppressed people in facing multiple oppressors, NOT having tunnel vision onto one form of oppression, because all oppressive ideologies are inherently linked. a large group of non-poc, pro-palestinian liberation supporters are not grasping the true basis of this mindset, and are actively bringing more harm to the palestinian cause by rejecting a more multi-faceted understanding of how to actually achieve liberation. there is a lack of understanding that we as americans can only support the liberation of palestine. trying to center the idea of palestine’s liberation as something that american activists can only achieve is based in the same ideology of the “white-savior” phenomenon. palestinian people have given us direct ways that they want support, and largely, american supporters have either de-stabilized or suppressed the original outreach and replaced it with more performative activism. the rampant racism, suppression, de-centralization of both black voices and palestinian voices goes directly against the beauty of palestine’s multi-ethnic, religiously diverse, and multi-faceted history as one of the most diverse areas of art, culture and thought in history.

Reminder that Hamas is an anti-black terror organization. They do not represent Palestinians or any kind of freedom. Their only goal is to subjugate Jews, black people, queer people, women, and anyone who represents progressive values or is a minority to them. Fact check whenever you come across something like this- even when you usually trust the info you get from a page

it’s kinda funny to me how people will say that there’s multiple ways of being black but there’s nonblack people literally portraying themselves as if they were a black person and you have people who love black culture but don’t wanna take the time to realize how harmful is it to not recognize that the way we talk isn’t ‘tiktok slang’ the way we dress isn’t ‘ratchet’ the way we do our hair isn’t ‘nappy or wrong’ like literally everything we do will not be credited as something that is ours
i know some people be like “well why can’t you just share your culture? it’s the right thing to do?” you don’t get happy to share your culture when it was the only thing you had that was ours after coming to whatever country you were enslaved in. i’m not big on it in and of itself because we’re never allowed to practice your culture freely with no repercussions, everybody and they momma gotta have a say in what black people do as a collective. suddenly, the way we talk ain’t good but when a non-black person starts talkin like us, it’s cute and gangster.(in the cool white way, not the getting into drugs and bad stuff kinda way)
me personally, i feel like my culture is for me and my people alone. especially when you see how disrespectful and uneducated people can be but be swearing that “well maybe if you-.” we ain’t there to teach y’all of something that you don’t even respect cause you sure as hell don’t respect black people likeeee it’s so telling honestly
i’m tired of black people hatin on each other because of what non-black view us as. the women shouldn’t have to wear wigs to see themselves as pretty or that ‘well natural hair takes too much work..” it’s your hair, it’s a part of you!!! the men shouldn’t have to go high and low just to find a replica of they momma, grow up and realize that they ain’t gotta be actin like someone’s disrespecting them solely because of just asking them a question.
especially, the child abuse, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, the hiding pedophiles and sex offenders in the comforts of our homes because they’re family. ain’t nobody’s family if you around touching on people inappropriately, you ain’t gonna be around nobody til you get yourself together, if you ever will. it’s just tiring because everything with being black, people love expect the getting killed by the police, having people be on high alert just because of what you look like, it being harder and harder to get respect because of what you look like honestly, i’m pretty sure y’all like the getting killed by police part cause after 2020, we was/still are being killed by them and y’all ain’t say a word.
it’s just the fact that no one will sympathize with you because “well, black woman and girls are always suppose to be strong.” everybody needs a break once and awhile but that doesn’t excuse the abusive black women either, whether or not they was treated right, it’s a reason but not a excuse. it’s the while having child predators in our personal spaces, it’s more and more likely that sexual violence will be present, the having ya momma be like “go put some clothes on, your *male family figure*’s coming over.” the not being able to be a kid because of that and the adultification of young children because of they skin color.
but ofc we can’t be bitter, can’t hate on our oppressors because “we know white people aren’t great but give us a break!” like ain’t nobody perfect but the least you could do is just go away or send me back to a africa that isn’t ruined by colonization and greed from the US, you take and take from the motherland just to say “GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY!” ugh, the hypocrisy

Pulled some screenshots off mastodon that rather aptly describes some of my feelings concerning the way white people are acting about this election. Don't tell Black folks we're responsible for the rising fascism like we haven't been voting for harm reduction since we got the right to vote. That's the same bullshit as claiming rape victims are at fault for being raped because they went to the bar in a skirt. Like frfr go fuck yourselves. Who are y'all to tell us that Trump winning will be our fault if we don't vote when 55% of white women voted for him?
Talk to YOUR people to get them out to vote since it's *white* people refusing to vote that is the issue, not us, and with respect and community, not that condescending, victim blaming sheisty shit y'all been on. Get YOUR folks to do the work of joining advocacy groups with the intent to be good hands rather than fake heroes and false leaders (because y'all love to reinvent the wheel and try to bulldoze your way into leadership positions for the gram and your fucking egos and cry crocodile tears and show you aren't actually dedicated to justice and are only in it for the savior complex).
Get YOUR people out to vote, because I PROMISE niggas got ourselves covered and the issue is YOUR people going out of their way to stymie us. Fuck off. We've always been doing our best and your complacency and self centeredness are the reason we're staring down fascism and have to vote between "old ass dickhead bankrolling genocide who has spent his entire career harming BIPOC communities and refuses to restore public health or invest in infrastructure and other dire needs of the country, thereby allowing it to continue to collapse by neglect" and "old ass twatwaffle who bankrolled genocide, destroyed public health and isn't going to do any better, the 'worse' he'll do is pretty much only worse to white folks because Black and indigenous folks have been living under apartheid and fascism this whole time anyway".

absolutely crazy learning tonight that the main slur I, an Arab, grew up being called in Australia (w*g) was originally a British slur for a Black person. It never ceases to astound me just how much racism against non-Black poc is nevertheless rooted in anti-Black racism.

Carolyn Bryant- Donham: Ding Dong the Witch is Dead!
Tumblr media
Mainstream Media was quick to announce the death of Carolyn Bryant @ 88Yrs Old, but many kept their storylines short & sweet. Another Day in The Life, under the Biden Administration. Bryant reportedly died in hospice care in Westlake, Louisiana. Details were not given by the Coroner of cause of Death, but Bryant's battle w/ Cancer was not exactly a secret. New Black Media has reported in recent Yrs on how she was initially in Raleigh- Durham, North Carolina, before being moved to Kentucky, & later Louisiana.
Back in June 2022, members of Emmett Till's family discovered an Arrest Warrant issued for 'Mrs Roy Bryant', among Records @ the Lefore County Courthouse in Mississippi. The warrant was issued back in 1955, citing the charge of Kidnapping; but it was never served. The Till Family attempted to reissue that warrant, citing Carolyn Bryant's [recent] admission of perjury in the Trial of Emmett Till's brutal murder. In her 2017 interview w/ Dr. Timothy Tyson, Bryant allegedly admitted to lying on The Stand.
Unfortunately, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch didn't think the case presented any new evidence, & in Aug. 2022, The Grand Jury declined to indict Bryant. As recently as Feb. 7th 2023, Emmett Till's cousin, Priscilla Sterling tried to compel Lefore County Sheriff Ricky Banks to reissue the warrant on Carolyn Bryant; but as of April 13th, she was informed that there was 'no point' in reissuing the warrant, since the Grand Jury declined last August.
Some lament missing the opportunity to send Carolyn Bryant- Donham to Prison. She lived a full life, while Emmett's life was brutally ended before it truly began. Bryant lived in anonymity for decades, until The New Black Panther Party & other Activists began showing up @ her addresses in North Carolina & Kentucky- to issue an 'Unofficial Warrant for her Arrest'. Some complained that Blackfolk were terrorizing an 'Old Lady', but no one says anything, when Nazi Hunters take individuals in their Nineties to justice.
The whole Emmett Till 'Tragedy' revolves around the Culture of protecting a White Woman's 'Honor'- whether she's worthy or not. Emmett Till & Carolyn Bryant are the only ones who know what really happened on Aug. 24th, 1955. According to Emmett's cousins, he was in the Store for a minute before they entered; they didn't know if he knew how to 'act' around a White Woman. From what they saw, Emmett didn't say or do anything threatening; they admit to hearing him whistle @ her. Carolyn Bryant initially concurred, but in Court, she recounted a different story.
In her Court Testimony, Bryant recounted how (14Yr Old) Emmett "put his left hand on my waist, and he put his other hand on the other side." When she rebuffed him, he replied: "What's the matter baby? Can't you take it?" She went on to say that Emmett uttered obscenities that she refused to repeat in Court, but related to his sexual prowess w/ White Women. According to Press Reports, Bryant gave the [unmistakable] impression of being afraid that Emmett might rape her. The Jury took about an hour to deliberate; the Foreman said that it would've been shorter, but they decided on having a [Soda] Pop.
In his 2017 interview, Dr. Tyson says that Carolyn Bryant- Donham told him that her testimony about Emmett grabbing her & uttering obscenities was 'not true'. Unfortunately, his recording of that interview was not enough to change the Grand Jury's opinion about reissuing the 1955 Arrest Warrant. For the most part, The State of Mississippi & The Federal Government were more concerned about the welfare of Carolyn Bryant, than the Family of Emmett Till. The Press described her as a former Beauty Queen that was raised in Poverty, w/ little Education or 'Knowledge of The World'... She was a product of her environment.
Following her death, Dr. Tyson wrote that 'Carolyn Bryant's precise role in the murder of Emmett Till remains murky, but it's clear that she was involved.' It appears that Bryant was in the car when her husband abducted Emmett; she pointed him out. By the time they reached the Store to drop her off, Dr. Tyson says that Bryant may have learned Emmett's fate, & was now saying that he wasn't the boy. In her interview, Bryant says that Emmett didn't do anything that warranted what was done to him. It appears that Emmett's Big Crime, was putting money in Carolyn Bryant's hand, & not on the counter.
Dr. Tyson speaks on how American Society views the Emmett Till Lynching as a story of 'Monsters', including Bryant. Professor Black Truth often speaks about how [White] Society operates on Moral Relativity & Situational Ethics. Applying them here, we can easily see how Dr. Tyson concludes that Society finds it easier to condemn Carolyn Bryant- Donham's actions, than confronting what America is. It's a big reason why both Democrats & Republicans have problems w/ Critical Race Theory (CRT).
For all of the aid & comfort that The State of Mississippi provided Carolyn Bryant- Donham, I can't stop thinking about Emmett... What was that 14Yr Old boy thinking when those grown White Men took him out of his family's house? Took him to that barn where they beat him mercilessly, shot him in the head, tied him to a 70lb Cotton Gin Wheel, & dumped his body into the river... As bad as that Jet Magazine Cover of Emmett's face looked, I can't get past the sheer TERROR he must have felt being alone, in the presence of Pure Evil.
I personally hope that Carolyn Bryant- Donham gets the Full Tour of 'Dante's Hell'... I'll even cover the tribute to Cerberus.

okay last thing for real. call me crazy but i think comparing dream’s actions with nada to the transatlantic slave trade is kind of completely 100% nonsensical. and weird, frankly. an eternal entity fundamentally incapable of bigotry inappropriately leveraging his power over a young woman and condemning her to hell for rejecting him is a fantastical story and also, fundamentally, an interpersonal conflict. it isn’t. the transatlantic slave trade
