hm. that's a good fuckin' question. i mean, sushi isn't terrible.
but uh, smoked salmon blinis with some crème fraîche and caviar fucks hard. or oysters on the half shell, topped with mignonette sauce. though, i cannot get enough of charcuterie skewers with cornichons. or if i'm really wanting to look on top of things, chocolate-dipped strawberries layered with edible gold leaf.

Vegeta x You first time flying
Sneak peek of chapter 7 of Lunar Eclipse of the Heart
After you've sampled Vegeta's triple helpings of crème brulee and tiramisu, he takes you up into the sky. He brings you to a gloomy alleyway nearby, reminiscent of the day you first met and he’d scared your socks off by chasing you into the dark. He folds his arms gently around you, watching you intently, and takes you with him a few meters in the air, causing you to let out a startled yelp. It feels very awkward to have his arms tightly wrapped around your torso and to be floating above the ground, with nothing but the wind beneath your feet. You tighten the grip on his shirt, and you're so distracted by this whole flying business that you're barely registering the hard lines of his muscles under your hands.
“Vegeta, I have to be honest here, this is a little bit out of my comfort zone…” You squeal out. “I assure you,” Vegeta says calmly, “I’m not going to drop you, woman,” giving you a small squeeze for reassurance. “You better not. Or I'll haunt you for eternity,” you threaten with a hint of theatrics. Letting out a light chuckle, he ascends higher, just beyond the roofs of the alleyway houses. You thank your lucky stars that you aren't particularly afraid of heights as you clutch his shoulders tightly, digging your nails into his skin, but he doesn’t seem to be affected in the slightest. His warm breath is on your shoulder, which is weirdly calming.
Vegeta soars higher and higher in the sky, taking your breath away, now more out of awe than fear. A captivating nightscape of city lights is unfolding beneath you. The wind whips your face like a stormy sea, and if you squint into the darkness, you can see the tapestry of flickering lights being swallowed by the night sky's black. His warm breath tickles your ear as he whispers, "Ready to fly?" You nod against him , snaking your arms around his neck, to get a better grip on him. You squeeze your eyes tightly shut, not knowing what to expect, as you feel your body moving horizontally. Vegeta slowly picks up the pace, making you feel that same sensation you had as a kid every time you swayed too high on the swing. As you open your eyes, a gasp escapes your lips. Flying, the sensation of it, feels more exhilarating than you ever imagined. Seeing the world rushing by beneath you makes you feel more alive than ever before.
The one time you dare to shift in his strong embrace and look at his face, slightly illuminated by the densely knit lights from below, you see a softness residing there, shadowed behind thick, dark lashes.

Conclusion

Research different cultures and try new desserts on this day!
History of National Dessert Day
The origin of the word dessert comes from the French “desservir,” a word which here means “to clear the table.” This, of course, referenced the dish that came after the clearing of the main dishes served as part of the meal. The earliest references to the term dessert being used are in the 1600’s and arrived at the same time as the concept of serving a meal in courses, letting each part of the meal be its own experience.
While it may seem like a no-brainer now, the idea of serving a sweet repast following the main meal wasn’t something that was always done. Those masters of decadence, the French, were known to serve a sweet wine as an aperitif, and it didn’t take long before the concept of sweet followings to the main dish became commonplace.
The birth of the sugar and honey trade helped to bolster the idea of dessert as it became easier to obtain sweeteners, though for a long time it was still known as a lush decadence reserved for the wealthy.

How to Celebrate National Dessert Day
National Dessert Day encourages us to celebrate by selecting our favorite delicacies and indulging in them, while also exploring the ever-growing number of options we have to experience in the world of sweets. There are so many to choose from cakes, pies, fried dough, chocolate, tarts, candy, jellied desserts, and pastries; it’s all about choosing how you make them and what to make, and maybe even where to make it?
Dessert can happen at home with family, or you can pick them up from your local store, and there’s always grandma’s house? The only important question on National Dessert Day is “What is your favorite dessert, and how would you like it?” Maybe there’s an old family recipe or something that the bakery down the street made fresh that morning. Whatever you decide, National Dessert Day is your opportunity to indulge in your favorite treats and maybe relive some old memories while doing so.
From rich chocolate to sweet strawberries, there are many desserts you can make on this day. How about Sticky Toffee Pudding? This is a British classic. For those that are unaware, Sticky Toffee Pudding is a delicious moist sponge cake that is made with finely chopped dates. The star of the show is, of course, the toffee sauce that is poured over the top.
If you fancy something a bit more modern, how about Green Tea-Coated Chocolate Mousse? Green tea is a massive hit in desserts at the moment. The Strawberry Cobbler is another dessert worth a mention. For something spectacular, serve it with cream cheese and warm vanilla seed custard. It is warm, comforting, and will melt in your mouth.
Or, what about Sicilian Lemon Tart? The balance between the sweetness and tartness in this dessert is spot on. We could go on, and on, and on, and on… after all, there are so many delicious and mouth-watering desserts out there! All you need to do is a quick search on the Internet and you are going to find plenty of exciting recipes to try on this day.
Another fun way to celebrate National Dessert Day is by watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. When you think of sweet treats and chocolate, this is often the first thing that comes to mind. It is a great film, and it is something that all of the family can watch. So, prepare your dessert, whether it be an ice cream sundae or a comforting apple pie, and get yourself comfortable in front of the television so that you and the family can enjoy a good movie night together. What could be better?
If you are really feeling adventurous, you may want to try making your own dessert invention on National Dessert Day. After all, the best recipes out there usually started as a bit of trial and error. Get plenty of different baking ingredients in and have fun experimenting with different flavors.
You could even turn this into a bit of a bake-off competition with your family or friends. You can all have your own ‘workstation’ and then you can try everyone’s desserts to see who is crowned the winner. It’s always fun to do something a little bit different with your loved ones, isn’t it?

Derived from the French word “desservir”, the word dessert means “to clear the table”, which seems fitting for the last course of a large meal.
Are desserts bad for you?
Some desserts that are high in fat, sugar and empty calories can be unhealthy, especially when eaten every day. But in moderation, it’s okay!
Can desserts be healthy?
Sure! Desserts that have a small amount of sugar and lots of fiber, like fresh fruit, applesauce, or frozen fruit pops, can be a healthy end to a meal.
What dessert is Italy famous for?
Most people would say that the most famous Italian dessert is Tiramisu, which is made with coffee, ladyfingers, cinnamon and sweet cream.
Should dessert wine be chilled?
Yes, sweet wines that are meant to be served after a meal should be chilled to between 6-10 degrees C or 45-50 degrees F.

Hi! It’s your holiday pen pal! I’m glad to hear your Decembrr is going well, if a little fast. Good thing you love a good rable, makes me feel lees guilty for asking you questions hahahaah.
Great answers for the dinner question, i love love love that two of them are irl people and two celebrities, feels like good balance. I have a killer hangover so I can’t think of three people rn but my number one choice would be my aunt who passed away when I was six, I miss her every day.
For today’s question: if you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? You can pick a starten, main dish, dessert and something to drink.
Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday!
omggg pls do not feel guilty about that, i LOVE being asked questions. of any kind.
and yesss i thought so too that’s why i couldn’t narrow it down haha. oof i hope ur drinking water and eating food so it passes quicker! that’s a good choice though<3
ok as a major foodie who’s bad at making decisions this is an even harder question… i love so many different countries’ foods it’s so hard to pick! like u could ask me to name top ten foods from every region in the world and i would still struggle. so i’m gonna cheat again and pick breakfast lunch dinner AND snack with a ramble for each lol.
breakfast: my starter will be a fruit salad with vanilla greek yogurt and almond granola topped with fresh honey. my main will be a sourdough breakfast sandwich with poached eggs, bacon, gruyère, tomatoes, arugula and avocado. my drink will be a mango peach strawberry smoothie. my dessert will beeeeee a stack of 1/2 chocolate chip waffles and 1/2 banana blueberry pancakes with strawberry and maple syrup.
lunch: my starter will be chips with fresh guacamole and salsa with lots of lime. my main will be a 1/2 carnitas 1/2 fish taco plate with mexican rice and refried beans with cotija + pickled carrots and jalapeños. my drink will be a mexican coke with sweet cream and lime (OR an ice cold horchata i cannot decide between these two for this meal). my dessert is gonna be a classic hot fudge sundae with churros to dip.
dinner: i was torn between asian and italian here but i have a strategy bc im already breaking the rules. we’re going asian. my starter will be 1/2 crab sushi and 1/2 bulgogi lettuce wraps with lots of kimchi and ginger. my main will be 1/2 sticky rice and 1/2 japchae with peanut chicken satay skewers. my drink will be a crème brûlée matcha with brown sugar boba. my dessert will be mango yuzu chantilly cheesecake TOPPED WITH a strawberry ice cream mochi.
snack: listen i have considered running a food blog for years i will do anything to include more food in this answer. we’re going italian for this. the starter is gonna be a charcuterie board with meat and cheese and olives and the whole shebang except half of this board is a caesar salad. the main is gonna be a dish that is 1/2 pasta primavera w extra fresh parmesan and grilled salmon + 1/2 macaroni and cheese w tomatoes and grilled tofu. the drink will be cranberry apple juice. the dessert will be a plate that has both tiramisu and pistachio cannolis.
(i’m also not counting tea as a drink bc i drink tea all day every day like water lol)
(and my midnight snack is gonna be a classic pb&j and an oatmeal raisin cookie bc they didn’t fit anywhere but i can’t leave them out)
i will not put u through the torture of answering the same question but do u have any favourite or go-to foods ?? 😅
#it’s not torture i love answering the questions im just not concise in the slightest lol#and i rly love food. as u can tell#thanks for letting me ramble lol 🫶🏻#holiday pal 24#answered
