Corpus Christi
The Feast of Corpus Christi (Latin for Body of Christ) is a Latin Rite liturgical solemnity celebrating the belief in the body and blood of Jesus Christ's Real Presence in the Eucharist.
"Jesus wants you to do more than to go to Mass on Sunday. Our communal worship at Mass must go together with our personal worship of Jesus in Eucharistic adoration in order that our love may be complete.” -JPII

despair
hiii hello yes it's me the guy that started drawing bible stuff for no reason I'm back uwu
I did done a jesus design here's some other sketches of He:
anyways I watched + read "the last days of judas iscariot" simultaneously this morning (and by this morning I mean at 3am in the morning and then sleep for 2 hours before having to wake up I am so fuckin tired lmaoo) and then just
fuckin
chew on the near end stuff (predictable I know) but also like
it's interesting lol
I'm not really verse in any kinda religious stuff (I'm atheist my whole life and will probably continue to be atheist) so i can't tell you if anything related to religion in the play is accurate but liek
the difference between this version of judas vs jcs judas and how those differences change bits n pieces of the story is interesting uwu
anyways sth sth the black halo in this instance represents despair and how judas is trapped in it in the end and while jesus is there the halo fractured and becomes those spiky things but it still lingers around judas and ultimately return back into being a halo just like how judas went back into catatonia
sth sth I will chew their small (but real fuckin juicy) interaction into mush that shit is so good to me
also I love saint monica and mary m lol shout out to them
also also this was the production I watched + where the poses came from
screenshots I used:
side note I love how they execute the set lol such a versatile lil set and use of lighting to convey different places n emotions n shit I love I stan

The month of June is consecrated to the sacred heart of Jesus. The first Friday of the month is the "Heart of Jesus Friday". On the second Friday to Corpus Christi or on the third Friday after Pentecost, the Roman Catholic Church celebrates the high festival of the holiest heart of Jesus, the Pope Pius IX. Introduced for the whole church in 1856.

“I devoutly adore You, hidden Deity,
Who are truly hidden beneath these appearances.
My whole heart submits to You,
And in contemplating You, it surrenders itself completely.
Sight, touch, taste are all deceived in their judgment of You,
But hearing suffices firmly to believe.
I believe all that the Son of God has spoken;
There is nothing truer than this word of Truth.
On the Cross only the divinity was hidden,
But here the humanity is also hidden.
Yet believing and confessing both,
I ask for what the penitent thief asked.
I do not see wounds as Thomas did,
But I confess that You are my God.
Make me believe much more in You,
Hope in you, and love You.
O memorial of Our Lord’s death,
Living Bread that gives life to man,
Grant my soul to live on You,
And always to savor Your sweetness.
Lord Jesus, Good Pelican*,
wash my filthiness and clean me with Your Blood,
One drop of which can free the entire world of all its sins.
Jesus, whom now I see hidden,I ask You to fulfill what I so desire:
That the sight of Your Face being unveiled
I may have the happiness of seeing Your glory. Amen.”
~Hymn “Adoro Te Devote” (“I devoutly adore You), written by St. Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christi
*Christ is called “The Good Pelican” and the pelican is a symbol of Christ because pelicans will, if need be, peck at their own chests and feed their young on their own flesh and blood.

I'm having a pretty severe pain day, so we played hooky from the day job to do some slower work.
I'm working on a large piece featuring a German crucifix and thought it needed a rosary. I haven't found one I like and that I feel compliments the corpus, so I'm just doing it the hard way and making a rosary that I KNOW will look perfect.
The Devil's in the details.

Once again found a random Hamish interview while looking for something completely different and remain awestruck at how he lives life. No one is going to save him from himself. He is bear hugging the cringe at every possible opportunity.

Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ
Gospel Jn 6:51-58
Jesus said to the Jewish crowds:
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven;
whoever eats this bread will live forever;
and the bread that I will give
is my flesh for the life of the world."
The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying,
"How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
Jesus said to them,
"Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood,
you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
has eternal life,
and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food,
and my blood is true drink.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood
remains in me and I in him.
Just as the living Father sent me
and I have life because of the Father,
so also the one who feeds on me
will have life because of me.
This is the bread that came down from heaven.
Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died,
whoever eats this bread will live forever."
