Great news for uninsured adults in the USA who want a COVID-19 booster! It now appears that ALL CVS locations are now active participants in the Bridge Access Program. The Bridge Access Program gives out free Covid-19 vaccinations to 18+ adults who otherwise can't afford one, so if you have a CVS near you, please go get one! For others who don't have a CVS near them, please go to vaccines.gov, click on "Find Covid-19 vaccines", fill out which vaccines you prefer (you can mix different vaccines if you have to so i reccomend just marking all of them for the age groups you need), and when the next page loads mark the "Bridge Access Program Participant" option to see only locations that are Bridge Access Program participants. Hopefully, other places that aren't CVS will start participating soon, so just check back every so often to see if there are any updates. The CDC Bridge Access Program website also has more details on what locations will be participating, but only CVS is appearing as an active participant on the vaccines.gov location finder at the moment.

From the article:
Any common face mask provides significant protection against the virus that causes COVID-19, but N95 masks are most effective at slashing the amount emitted by infected people, according to a University of Maryland-led study released Wednesday. So-called “duckbill” N95 masks scored highest in the study, which measured the exhaled breath of participants who were tested both masked and unmasked to measure comparative outputs of SARS-CoV-2. The inexpensive masks, which have two head straps and a horizontal seam, captured 98% of exhaled virus, according to the study published in eBioMedicine. The researchers also found that—in what might come as a surprise to many—cloth masks outperformed the specific brand of KN95 mask that was tested. Surgical masks brought up the rear in performance out of the four types, but even they blocked 70% of the virus, the tests showed. (To reflect the general public's use of masks, study volunteers were not fit-tested for their masks or trained how to properly wear them.) “The research shows that any mask is much better than no mask, and an N95 is significantly better than the other options. That’s the No. 1 message,” says the study’s senior author, Donald Milton, a professor of environmental health and a global expert on how viruses spread through the air.

I know I probably sound like an old man yelling at a cloud but wear a goddamn mask people jesus christ. You, yes you, could be permanently disabled from this plague. There's so many variants of covid that becoming immune to one means nothing. The more you catch covid the more chance you have of catching long covid.
You can still do a lot of fun things while masked. I went to a concert recently and it was a good time. I've also been to the movies masked. Just remember to take some hand sanitizer with you and to drink water.

Masking is mutual aid; do it for yourself and your loved ones.
Here's some more sources on the long term affects of covid 'cause I know some nerd is gonna doubt me (which honestly good for them don't trust strangers on the internet )

So I got this idea for a "wear a mask" image, and even though it's kind of silly, once I had thought of it, I had to make it:

Sure, you show up when people are organizing picket lines and protests that'll be covered in the news, but do you ever go to the fucking organizing meetings? Do you have any idea what's going on between the high-profile actions? Do you know what other tasks need volunteers? Or are you just there for the things that are "fun" and get attention from outside observers?

This is another piece of art I made while processing my ongoing anger with how the US specifically, though also many other countries, have completely ignored managing the covid pandemic for the last several years.
This is your reminder: there was a new vaccine released in September of 2023. If you have not had a vaccine since then, you need one.

Please remember to still wear a mask and wash your hands! COVID is still going around and is deadly to many people, including myself!

CDC voice: "I know I said we'd do something about covid if it got very high again, but we have real tough jobs to do, like removing the recommendations that children with head lice or watery diarrhea be sent home to prevent further spread of their illness."
