Brit here and there was DEFINITELY Press just before Meghan and Harry married saying that in future William & Kate would focus more on the UK as heirs to the throne and that Harry & Meghan would 'get' the Commonwealth. I remember thinking it a good idea at the time (when I still liked Meghan). William & Kate wouldn't have to travel so much with their young family; it would allow the BRF to provide 'coverage' of both UK & Commonwealth; it would give Harry (who so famously loved Africa etc.) a proper job and of course Meghan's bi-racial heritage was seen as a massive advantage. Everything points to this being official BRF policy rather than M&H PR. They were given their meaningful Commonwealth titles, Meghan was told enough about the role to have the Commonwealth flowers on her veil, there is a documentary about the Queen and the Commonwealth where Meghan is highlighted (K&W are absent) and they were sent almost immediately to Australia and New Zealand. They may also have been told that the Duchy of Cornwall would fund them on these tours. This is my theory about what happened next.

As we now know that tour was a disaster behind the scenes due to Meghan's attitude. My take is that they were soundly chastised and given one last chance to prove themselves with the South Africa tour. This was also a bit of a disaster, culminating in Meghan's tearful interview. I believe they were then told they were a diplomatic disaster and not ready to take on the Commonwealth. It's about this time that there was a lot of Press about them moving to Africa or elsewhere in the Commonwealth for a long stint and to focus on their young family. I believe this was the BRF's plan to give Meghan a chance to ease into royalling and keep the Commonwealth connection before coming back at a later date. It was at this time that Megxit was planned. Meghan had been told in no uncertain terms that she wasn't as good as Kate (who had stepped perfectly into the royal role almost immediately). I think Harry tried initially to stick to the script with the move to Canada but Meghan was having none of it and made the move to LA. I think it's significant that their final planned engagements included the Commonwealth Day service (this was probably why they got so stroppy about their diminished roles there). After it became obvious after Megxit that they wouldn't be getting their roles back, M&H went scorched earth and wanted to destroy any possible Commonwealth roles for the rest of the family. That's why they went all out to scupper the Caribbean tour, wove all their vague racist allegations about the entire family, followed by more substantive subsequent allegations about Kate and Charles (who could be expected to take on the bulk of Commonwealth roles going forward) and dissed the C'wealth in 'Spare'. TL:DR this whole sorry saga is Meghan's revenge for being told she and Harry weren't good enough for the Commonwealth roles planned for them.

Allegedly the Sussexes were sent on vacation after Remembrance Day 2019 because “it” wasn’t going well and upsetting a lot of people.

(Speculation for “it”: the South Africa tour being a PR disaster and the “no one asked me if I’m ok” interview, both of which overshadowed Charles’ trips and the Cambridges’ Pakistan trip; general bullying/rude behaviors; BP finding out about negotiations with Quibi, Netflix, and Oprah; complaints from Frogmore neighbors; issues with The SussexRoyal Foundation relating to financials and/or how it was set up (Bower talks a bit about this in Revenge); and having cameras for their event at the Field of Remembrance in Nov 2019 (Camilla was supposed to join them but she bowed out at the last second and Meghan was overly glam with her makeup for the event).)

So allegedly after the Remembrance Day 2019 events concluded, the Sussexes were sent to Canada on holiday for a punishment and then the Sussexes, furious about being sidelined, devised their Megxit plans.

And also allegedly, Harry and Meghan didn’t expect the hard “no” they got from The Queen. They thought they’d be able to present it at fait accompli since they were both so fully delusional over the strength of Meghan’s race card and Harry’s “status” as The Favorite.

Regarding the Queen of the World documentary that highlighted Meghan, allegedly she completely took it over. She wasn’t supposed to feature as much as she did. And allegedly, Meghan bailed on an artsy engagement with Charles that she had already committed to to film and “direct” the documentary.

The BBC is already not being impartial during the UK election 2024

I shouldn't even be surprised but here we are. So much for any kind of journalistic standard.

Those of you who were around for the last election campaign may remember at that point a far-right party member's claim, which was repeated uncritically and as if it were factual by many media outlets, that he was 'assaulted' by 'a youth on a bicycle' throwing a yogurt at him while he innocently campaigned for his party, which was an example of political violence against his beliefs.

Except it turned out that there was CCTV in the area and no 'youth on a bicycle carrying yogurt' was seen.

What was in fact seen, was the man in question had brought a packed lunch with him for his day out, which contained... a yogurt. Which he either accidentally or deliberately spilled on himself while campaigning, and then took the opportunity to report to his party leadership and the media as an assault, which was then spread around as if factual and it definitely happened, inciting sympathy for the poor innocent far-right people.

Well folks. They're at it again this year.

Here's a fun uncritical headline from the BBC that dropped today:

"Reform election candidate 'attacked' in Cornwall"

What evidence is given for this attack, I hear you ask, given that the BBC has reported it as a factual event in the title?

Well, the chairman of Reform, the party in question, has claimed that it happened, and has made a social media video stating that it happened. Three days ago.

Here's how the article describes it:

"A statement from Reform UK said Mr Rubidge, 51, was handing out election leaflets in Event Square when he was verbally abused by a man believed to be in his 20s. The party said that, as Mr Rubidge tried to leave the scene after two other men turned up, he had a bag he was carrying grabbed off him by the first man.

He was eventually able to "wrestle the bag" back off the man, but he was punched and kicked multiple times, leaving him with injuries to his ligaments, Reform added. The incident left Mr Rubidge shaken and shocked, the party's statement said.

In his social media video, Mr Tice said he was "appalled" after hearing about the alleged incident. He said: "This is no way of having a democratic debate and discussion. "We can disagree, but we don't fight each other. That's not what our democracy is about."

He added Mr Rubidge did go back on the campaign trail for a further four hours on Saturday."

Nowhere in the article (archived ver. June 18th 2024) does the BBC make clear that this is not an impartial account of what has been determined to have actually happened, but rather, a biased account from a political party representative that has likely been crafted in conjunction with a PR specialist in order to stretch the truth as far as possible in order to present the campaigner as innocent, a victim, and suffering due to his innocent political beliefs that are UNDER ASSAULT by vicious strangers who are JUST INTOLERANT for no reason.

The article, of course, comes complete with a smiling image of the campaigner in question, looking as innocent as possible. The article is careful not to mention any of the content of the leaflets that the campaigner was handing out which may have caused some backlash if, perhaps, the camapigner was also shouting about some of the content of the leaflets while handing them out in a city center at midday on a Saturday: for context, Reform UK as a political party want to ban ALL immigration to the country, to deport international students even if they have already paid for their education in the UK, to remove all unemployment benefits from citizens who are struggling, to stop investing in any kind of renewable energy sources, to get rid of all diversity and inclusion practices, and to ban 'transgender ideology' including the admittance that trans people even exist from all schools and educational institutions. They also believe that 'the majority of mothers want to stay at home' instead of working.

Going back to the article, apparently the poor campaigner in question who was definitely ASSAULTED HORRIBLY and completely UNPROVOKED ended up with 'injuries to his ligaments'. This is a serious injury and would be quite debilitating to deal with and would require immediate treatment and some bed rest and gentle exercise for days therafter to aid recovery.

Interesting then, isn't it, that the campaigner in question was then able to then keep campaigning for a further four hours with such a horrendous injury?

The BBC and other media outlets need to realise that this isn't a fun RPG or game of who can present something the most quickly to 'win', accuracy be damned, or a situation where it's fine to save time doing your own research by just repeating a political organisation's press release about an incident as factual, verbatim.

This is a real election, the only election that will happen between now and 2029. The BBC is supposed to be impartial. Reporting an alleged assault as if it were factual and exactly as described by somebody with an interest in making it out to be as bad as possible, and trusting that all readers will be able to read between the lines of what is said and understand that your write-up of the event is actually just reporting what someone else SAID about the event rather than an unbiased record is at this point in time EXTREMELY irresponsible.

Journalists, your job, especially now, is to report what's happening to inform the public. You can report what someone THINKS is happening, but only if you make very clear that you are doing so, and ideally only report that within a larger piece that discusses just the facts of the situation. It's okay if details are unknown - it's better to note that than to put anything in, no matter if it's been fact-checked or not. The BBC is publicly funded, it and its staff don't need to be the first on the scene to react or comment on any given situation, it's not like anyone's going to get more funding or any reward for doing that.

You can't claim to be impartial on the one hand and on the other, uncritically report something that a political party has a vested interest to lie about as if it were definitely and wholly factual. And the BBC keeps doing this, as if there's no way anyone could ever lie about a situation in order to advantage themselves.

Wake up, BBC.

Excellent reading, CC. Why would KC3 still want Harry back in the UK at this point? Harry will not stop attacking until KC3 issues consequences and also cuts off all contact and support for Harry and not invite him to any state or family events. 2 tarot reading ideas: is KC3 angry at William because William refuses to pay Harry money from the Duchy of Cornwall so KC3 can say he's not supporting Harry? Why is KC3 attacking his DIL Catherine in the media?

Those are good questions and I will add them to my list, to be done soon.

I would hope that Charles wants Harry back in the UK so he can send Harry to rehab and get him off the drugs, which won't be happening until Harry wants it to happen. I prefer to think that it is out of concern for Harry's welfare rather than for other reasons (blackmail? PR? wanting both his sons around him?) although more than one reason could be true at the same time.

We need some fun engagements for Kate, the ones she has done recently barely any RRs reported on them or anything and there’s not many photos also, I miss seeing a William and Catherine joint engagement🥺

100% agree! I’m not always obsessed with William and Catherine engagements because I want 100% of the attention on my girl and not on her bald husband but I love seeing how happy they are together. I always do a list of predictions for each year but here are my royal watching dreams for Catherine’s schedule next year:

Good PR - she must attened all of the events which generally provide good PR for the royals with little to no effort (Trooping, Remembrance Sunday, Festival of Remembrance, Christmas Day Walk, Pre-Christmas Dinner, Easter, Ascot, Chelsea Flower Show, Wimbledon, at least one football match, Commonwealth Day Service, Balmoral in the summer, Garter)

Sport - I’ve already mentioned Wimbledon (I’d like to see 3 visits - one earlier in the fortnight and the two final days). I want her to go to at least one public football match and, if possible, a rugby match. She should attend as much of the Commonweatlh Games as she can (I’m thinking every day but I’ll settle for once every two days). At least one hockey engagement and one sailing engagement. Speaking of sailing...

Projects - King’s Cup Regatta please and thanks. I expect to see more visits to work focused on the early years - both specifically related to her centre and not. Another arts/outdoors based project, possibly something with Place2Be about the importance of young people physically expressing themselves through art?

Patronages - a minimum of one “public” engagement with each patronage (at least a photo must be released). Visit an EACH hospice. Do a sailing engagement. A joint event between the NPG and RPS. View a new exhibit at the NHM. Literally anything with the Royal College of Obs and Gynae.

Jubilee - all the possible engagements. Trooping is obvious. Light one of the jubilee beacons (TAKE THE KIDS). Service of thanksgiving. Epsom Derby. Party at the Palace. Jubilee Lunch. Pageant. Go with the Queen to the official grand unveiling of the official emblem. Tour the countries of the UK. A commonwealth tour.

Other - visit Cambridge again. Also, Strathearn and Carrickfergus. A summer engagement in Cornwall and Scilly. More UK-based away days. Solo overseas visits to European countries (about two, one day each). That Malta visit which was eventually given to William to finally be done by Kate. A tour. A consistent work rate - I’ll settle for something like Monday off, Tuesday engagement (maybe away day), Wednesday meeting, Thursday off, Friday short engagement. A mixture between project-linked engagements, patronage engagements, and the boring salt-of-the-earth engagements. I want to see her with the public again. More engagements with children. More outdoorsy engagements. I just want more

I find quite telling that the RF is cementing themselves as the future of the monarchy during the G7, the choice of location (Cornwall, go Cams!) PC being basically the host of the event with Wills as the future POW. Let’s face it, every leader and people there would rather meet Charles than meet Boris. Pity there won’t be a state dinner and we’ll miss Catherine in a gala dress and tiara.. 1/2

2/2 Now, Mrs. Dumbarton tries so hard to be perceived as powerful (remember the “power meeting” with Michelle?) but lacked the vision of the actual pull the royals have during diplomatic functions. She could be mingling with world leaders and billionaires, PR-ing her way into friendships, etc., but preferred HW and cheap headlines. She has a z-list mentality and that’s why she fails to build the brand she wants. Plus, snubbing Trump&Fam that time showed she is clueless and unfit for the role

If I may, the BRF is positioning itself as an integral part of the future of the UK, afterall the monarchy is an inseparable aspect of the country's identity and has been for a 1000 years.

Chapter 1

Settling down

On their return to Sennen, they decided to stay until the end of October which would give Kerry time to make plans for the cottage. Then they would return, either at Christmas or New Years, to see her sister and her family.

Day to day, life living together was comfortable - they each found the other easy to live with and she was relieved to find that he was a tidy person and didn’t expect her to do all the heavy lifting on domestic tasks which had been a bone of contention with her ex. She did do most of the cooking though as that wasn’t his forte, however he had taught himself a little during his time in lockdown and also in Cornwall given you can’t eat out so easily there as in LA. His forte was definitely sandwiches for lunchtimes - he could wax lyrical about sandwich choices and creation and he could rustle up a couple of pasta dishes his sister had taught him as well as cook a mean steak.

They had a chat about pet peeves to try and head off issues, from the possibly trivial (like no coming in for a pee while I’m in the bath (they had 2 toilets in the house after all) to getting a cleaner and then more fundamental issues like phone privacy, honesty, not sleeping on an argument and so on.

After a couple of weeks, she commented that living together felt good and easy and she admitted how nervous she’d been, after Tresco, that they would be brought back to reality with a bump with the day to day of living together. He warned her it might not be so great when he’s filming.

“I can get a bit obsessive, reclusive. You’ll have to call me on it if I neglect you but I will try not to turn in on myself. But I also used to take on projects more I think to fill my life, I feel now I should get even more picky, now that there’s something, well someone else worth spending time on!”

Kerry had already given up waitressing due to the writing needing more time, so they often split their time between Cornwall and London where he could take meetings and do PR or press if needed while there and she would see her agent and publisher. They established a rhythm of 4 days working and 3 off for leisure and trips back in Cornwall or elsewhere. She took him to Lords to see a cricket test match, laughing as she tried to explain the intricacies of the game. Being a sports guy, he enjoyed it despite the occasional confusion at what was going on!

Another trip was to Oxford, where he’d discovered she studied at university. Their early lives had never come up in conversation til one evening they were watching an old episode of “Inspector Morse” which she said she loved.

“Reminds me of student days”

“Huh? You studied …… there?”

“Yup” she grinned at his amazement. “Don’t you think I’m clever enough?!” her eyes sparkled with mischief.

“No, god, no I mean yes!” he garbled “it’s not that, it’s just wouldn’t that be, you know like one of your highlights you drop in, you know, to impress!”

She giggled.

“Well I guess it wasn’t like that with us was it? Neither of us was trying to impress, and educational or other achievements never came up otherwise you’d have been telling me about all the A list directors who’ve chased you to work with them or how many millions you’ve made or how you were the internet’s boyfriend!”

“Stop, stop, ok, you know all that stuff?”

She nodded yes. “You only have to read one or two decent articles to get all that info you know!”

“OK but anyway back to you, so wow, Oxford!”

She told him how she’d studied English at St Catherine’s, one of the modern colleges (well, one that was built in the 1960s not the 1560’s!) and it favoured a more state school intake than the likes of Christchurch or Magdalen where old Etonians gravitated.

“But I still got to go to tutorials in the dreaming spires parts so it was a wonderful experience. We should go, on the way back from London next week. I’ll give you the tour.”

They fitted in a visit, staying at the Randolph Hotel as a treat for Kerry. She explained to him that it was always there that the well-to-do murderers in Morse episodes had stayed and it was totally central in the city too. He donned a beanie and shades to try and keep a little anonymity as they strolled around the city and she used her alumni card to get free access to some of the splendid college gardens.

There was some publicity while they were there due to fans spotting him in a pub where he’d taken his beanie and sunglasses off while they sat to eat. A small crowd had gathered as they’d left and at first it was fine, just taking selfies but when Kerry got jostled by an overzealous fan, Keanu nearly lost it, starting to drag her away but she stopped him.

“Look, don’t punish the nice guys for that one idiot. Leave her out but I’ll just go sit out of the way for a sec while you do your thing”

“You sure?” She nodded and he went back to the gathered fans, taking selfies for about 15 minutes. The rude fan stalked off when he pointedly ignored her.

“Phew that was a bit intense,” she said afterwards. It’s like news of your presence spread like wildfire!”

“Yeah took me a little off guard too. I mean usually, it only happens in airports or hotels when people get wind you are there due to an event, not so much day to day, at least not a crowd like that. Look try not to worry.” he reassured. Fortunately, the rest of their stay there passed without incident.

He’d already told Cheryl that he and Kerry were now an item and warned Kerry that at some point there might be pictures in the press and some intrusion. After that incident, she also talked to her literary agent and publishers - they were pleased, only saying the attention could be positive for her book but she hoped it wouldn’t distract or appear like she was using him. After all, she’d been pursuing her writing long before she even met him.

Before they left the UK, they made a visit to see her sister and her partner and kids. Kerry loved to see how well he got on with her brother-in-law and niece and nephew and how readily they just accepted him as her partner. But her sister couldn’t help but be worried about her younger sibling. In a quiet moment in the kitchen over breakfast, she said

“I can see he loves you, god those puppy dog eyes gazing at you last night - how do you get anything done?! But I do worry about you going away to America for long spells. Won’t you be horribly isolated, lonely even?”

“I’ll be fine” she reassured “I’ll still have my writing to do and Scout, and we have each other. It will take some getting used to, sure, but it’s just a change of location really. It’s not like I see my friends that often anyway in person. Cornwall might as well be LA if you think about how unwilling most people have been to visit me since I moved!”

||Reader's POV||

My leg bounced intensely on the ball of my foot as I sat at the DnD table, hunched forward. My fingers were intertwined together to keep from fidgeting and my stomach felt uneasy.

A lot just happened and I haven't quite processed it yet. I remember running into Troy in the woods and being chased all the to the quarry. I remember a sharp blow to the head and everything is fuzzy from there. I remember barely being able to stay conscious before blacking out and the next thing I remember is seeing Mike jump, only to be saved by El of course.

"Here, let me help."

Dustin's voice tears me from my thoughts. I look up and see him walking over to me with a wet washcloth. I perk up in realization and pull my hair aside and out of the way.

I hiss in pain when I feel the cold washcloth touch my open wound at the back of my head.

I feel his hesitation. "Oh, sorry."

"It's okay. Thanks for helping." I say quietly, taking hold of the washcloth and applying pressure. Dustin let's go and sits across from me at the table.

"No problem. Are you sure you are feeling okay? How's your vision? Any light-headedness?" I can hear the worry in his voice escalate with every question he asks.

Sighing, I let my hand that holds the washcloth rest on the table, I give my brother a small smile.

"Dustin, I'm okay."

Dustin sighed, and the room filled with silence. The only sounds were coming from the sink in the bathroom. Mike was helping El clean up.

Dustin soon broke the silence.

"I, I was really scared for you. I mean, how the hell are you even functioning this well? That rock should have done some serious damage."

I give him a slight frown, even though I know what he is getting at.

"You know what I mean,"

It's silent again, but we both begin to chuckle softly. Enjoying this fleeting moment of peace, not knowing the next time we will be able to laugh like this.

I frown at the thought. I take a deep breath, contemplating whether or not to voice my paranoid thoughts that have been festering in the very farthest corners of my mind.

"Dustin, I think," I shift in my seat a little. "I thi-"

Defining static erupts from the comms as it bursts to life, causing Dustin and I to jump.

A panicked voice begins shouting incoherent words.

Lucas.

My head whips around to the device and then Dustin and I look to each other in understanding.

Dustin runs to the bathroom door, alerting Mike and El while I grab the comm and begin fiddling with it, desperately trying to fix the static.

Dustin came running back over with Mike and El in tow.

"Do you remember how he said he was looking for the gate?"

"Yeah," Mike said confused.

"Well, what if he found it?" You said in a questioning tone fiddling with the device.

"What's he saying?" Mike asked.

"We don't know! He's way out of range."

I hurriedly put the device up to my ear and I hear more muffled words and manage to make out a very muffled "son of a bitch!"

I shakily bring the comm up to my face and begin speaking into it.

"Lucas? Lucas, it's [Y/N]. If you can hear us, slow down. We can't understand you. Over." I release the button and meet my friends' gaze as we all wait for a response.

Suddenly his voice bursts through the comm loud and clear.

"Yes, I copy! Do you? They know about Eleven! Get out of there! They know about Eleven! The bad men are coming! All of them! Do you head me? The bad men are coming."

My heart stops at his words and I look to El in fear while Dustin rambles on.

"'Mad hen.' Does that mean anything to you?"

"Bad men." I croak in fear.

"What?"

"Bad men!"

I waste no time in springing into action.

I grab Mike by the arm and begin to drag him towards the stairs.

"El, we're gonna need you to stay here for just a moment. We'll be right back. Dustin, stay with her." I give her a fearful yet pleading look.

She shares the same look of fear in her eyes, a kind I have never seen before. Though she seems to trust me. 

Dustin speaks up. "Uhh, sure okay."

To be completely honest, I thought it'd be a better idea that if anything were to go wrong she could protect him, rather than the other way around.

Heart pounding we make our way to the nearest window at the front of the house. We are running so fast we are barely able to stop ourselves from slowing down before we reach the window.

"Umm" I trail nervously as we both spot the same sketchy man in a very sketchy van parked just across the street.

"What's that guy doing?"

"You don't think..." I trail off once more, my stomach plummeted and I looked to Mike worriedly.

He returned the same terrified look and he dashed off to the kitchen.

I hear Mike's footsteps pound against the kitchen floor and I can't help but overhear snippets of the conversation. 

"Mom!"

"Well, is he home?"

Although not much time passes before it begins to fade out. My attention focuses on the van outside.

Alarms are going off in my system, everything is screaming danger and my suspicions are only confirmed when I turn my head to see a fleet of identical vans parade down the street.

My heart begins pounding against my ribs to the point it hurts.

The fleet of vans slow to a stop in front of Mike's house and one man in the passenger's seat of one of the vans give me a curious glance.

I want to run and hide. I want to whip the curtains closed and run away and never come back, the look he gave me... it struck a fear in me I have never felt before. Everything inside me was screaming for me to run.

But I was frozen.

It was like a nightmare. I want to run, but my legs won't carry me. I'm paralyzed. I'm frozen with fear and they seem to become intrigued with me.

Too intrigued.

My brain finally reconnects with my body and I quickly jerk the curtains closed and run for the kitchen.

I realized I've only wasted seconds but it felt like minutes staring out the window.

I stumble into the kitchen, almost out of breath, too scared to even remember going the short distance to the kitchen.

"Mike!"

Without even looking at me, he holds out a finger to me.

"One second."

I have no time to roll my eyes, scoff or even be offended.

"Mike!" I roar, grabbing his and his mother's attention.

He immediately whips around.

"We need to leave... right now!" I enunciate every word, making sure I'm getting through to him.

I waste no more time and run for the basement.

I hear the distant scolding of Mrs. Wheeler.

"Michael!"

I practically fly down the stairs and jump to the ground with a stomp that rattles a nearby lamp when I reach the third to last step.

"They're here," I say frantically, grabbing my things.

"We need to leave."

I grab my jacket and threw it on.

"What?" Dustin asked frightened.

"I said, they're here. We need to get El out of here now. Mike will be down in a second, there's no time to explain. Just be ready to leave."

I say hurriedly, scrambling around the basement and snatch up my compass and shoving it into my jacket pocket.

Soon enough, Mike was downstairs with us and we all made our way out the back door. We all grab a hold of our bikes and begin running them across the grass.

We all freeze when we see the men striding towards us.

We all climb onto our bikes and I see the fear in El's eyes and I turn back to see one man in particular that she had been staring at.

He had stark white hair and his slightly wrinkled face and surrounding him was an aura of menace.

It was him.

The same man struck fear into my very soul only minutes ago through the window.

His cold eyes bore into El, but then he turned his attention to me.

Something about him and the way he looked at me... it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. My blood ran cold.

Finally coming to my senses, I peddle away with my friends in a frantic splurge of energy. The adrenaline was finally kicking in.

I eventually heard the faint sounds of a cluster of car doors slam followed by tires squealing and I knew they were already close on our tail.

"Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God." Dustin moaned fearfully as we raced down the street.

Thankfully he had brought his headset and connected it to our shared comm so that we could still communicate with Lucas.

I hear a muffled voice coming from the headset before my brother responds.

"Yeah, Lucas, they're on us."

More static.

My heart is pounding harder which I never thought was possible.

"Cornwallis!" He shouts into the mic.

My lungs are beginning to burn.

"Copy! Elm and Cherry!" My brother orders.

Mike and I respond at the same time.

"Okay."

"On it."

We head down the road when I hear the frightening sounds of several vans approaching.

The ringing in my ears is now deafening. Panic has completely taken over now.

"Shit."

"This way, come on!" Mike orders.

My limbs have grown tired and I start to fall behind. This only makes my heart pound faster.

They begin to head toward one of the houses and I begin to follow them. Only then, I hear the sounds of an approaching vehicle. I whip my head back and see one of the vans approaching me. They know I've fallen behind. They know that I am as good as alone.

Separated from the group.

Vulnerable.

And that's exactly what I am.

There was no time. It was a snap decision that did not allow me time to alert my friends. My brother.

Needing to throw them off my trail, I jerked the handlebars of my bike to the left at the very last second. I knew it had worked and had gotten that van off my tail because it had no time to turn. I cast a glance behind me and smirked knowing I had succeeded, but I also saw my friends disappear behind the house as they took the shortcut.

Hopefully, if I can time everything right, they won't even know I was gone. The last thing I want them to do is to worry about me and compromise themselves in the process.

I returned my gaze to the road, but it was too late. A van had swerved out of nowhere and cornered me. Trying my best to avoid it, I swerved my bike to the side and I lost my balance and tumbled to the ground, and I rolled across the pavement.

By the time I stopped rolling, I laid there, the wind knocked out of me. Tears escaped my eyes. I had survived, but my bike had not.

I heard the opening of car doors and I came to my senses. I saw men approaching me and I scrambled backward. Tears began to fall.

"Ple-please. Stay away from me." I blubbered.

Another van began approaching and slowing to a stop behind the other. Another man stepped out.

It was him again.

He knew they had me cornered.

The men who had cornered me began circling in on me and I panicked.

I don't know what happened next.

All the sadness I had felt these past few days for Will. The heartbreak. All the anger I felt towards Troy. All the pain inflicted on me, all the fear. Every emotion washed over me as I relived the most intense moments in the past week flashed before me and I felt everything at once. And it exploded. Like a violent force of nature, I erupted.

"I SAID STAY BACK!"

I threw my hand up to protect myself and suddenly I felt a powerful warm wave of energy surge off of me and the air around me blurred, the windows of the van shattered and the men circling me were thrown back and slammed against the vehicle.

They fell towards the concrete and laid there, unmoving surround by shards of glass.

Shaking, and at a loss for words, I looked to my hands realizing I had been the cause of this sudden occurrence. My hands were bright red. I felt the blood pump intensely through my veins and I looked to the man with white hair and to my own surprise I smirked slightly at him. 

I jumped to my feet and begin backing away, not before giving the damage I had done a quick once over. I then broke out into a sprint and cut through the trees.

A smile broke out onto my face. A new wave of power and adrenaline was pumping through my veins and I was beginning to feel invincible.

A now undeniable, beaming smile found it's way onto my face when I saw my friends gather up just around the corner.

I leaped and bound and I waved my hands up in the air calling to them.

Even from a distance, I could tell they had just figured out I wasn't there and were beginning to panic.

"Over here!"

"[Y/N]!"

"Oh, thank God!"

"Where were you? I thought you were behind us!"

"Where's your bike?"

"No time to explain! Lucas, I need a ride."

"No problem, hop on."

I quickly took a seat on the back of Lucas's bike, knowing he had a similar model to Mike's.

"They are not that far behind. We need to go. Now!" I explained frantically.

Sure enough, a few seconds later the roaring of engines came from down the street.

"Go, go, go, go, go!" Mike cried.

I held on tight to the Lucas as he began picking up speed. I shared a worried look with El and then we both looked behind us to see the vans gaining speed behind us.

"Go, go, go, go, go! Faster, faster!" Mike shouted desperately.

"Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!"

Lucas casted a glance behind us and much to my dismay, I saw one more van just up ahead and it was heading straight for us.

"Look out!" I couldn't help but shout.

I held on tighter to Lucas and I looked ahead frozen in shock. It was just a few feet away.

And then everything happened in slow motion. I watched in amazement when the van tipped forward and it was thrown into the sky. It hurdled over us and I watched in amazement as it flew right over our heads.

"What the fuck?!" I shouted in awe.

My gaze never left the van and my heard turned to see it crash on it's roof blocking all the remaining vans and allowing us to escape.

I began laughing in relief and I looked behind me as we made our escape. I met eyes with the man with the white hair and I couldn't resist.

Keeping one arm secured around Lucas's torso, I turned around as much as I could and have the man the finger. A proud smile on my face.

Brenner got out of the car and made his way toward the wreckage. Not bothering to check for survivors he stares at the fleeing children.

He wanted to be mad that they had escaped. That his beloved Eleven escaped once more.

But he was too impressed.

And he was thrilled to have witnessed the incredible feat only minutes ago.

The tremendous effort showed by the young Henderson girl. He had had his suspicions for some time now. She was all too familiar to him. But seeing her amazing abilities.

Abilities that had been inside her all her life, hidden, lying dormant inside her. It was brought out in a complete state of emergency. Acting as her body's natural defense that she didn't even know she had.

All that untapped potential mixed with the unpredictable attitude could do great things. 

No, today was not a loss. Today was a victory. He had finally found her after all this time.

His missing experiment.

Announcement they were stepping back as senior royals ‘blindsided’ palace

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex defied instructions from the Queen not to go public with their bombshell announcement they are to step back as senior royals until details of their plans had been fully discussed, it has been claimed.

The Guardian understands that the couple went ahead regardless, sending a copy of their explosive statement to Prince Charles and Prince William just 10 minutes before it was released on Instagram, and without any further consultation.

Buckingham Palace was said to have been “blindsided” by the release of the statement while talks were at such a very early stage. Senior family members were reportedly left feeling “disappointed” and “hurt”.

As myriad questions remained unanswered, the sequence of events leading to the announcement emerged.

Harry originally contacted his father about spending more time in Canada and America just before Christmas, but was told he needed to come up with a thought-out plan, according to details first reported by royal editor Robert Jobson on the Evening Standard.

He then sent a draft proposal about his planned new role to Charles early in the new year, but was informed more time was required to think through the complex implications, particularly over funding.

Harry then sought a meeting with the Queen as soon as the couple and son Archie returned from their six-week break from royal duties. He was told the Queen would only meet him after he had discussed the plans in detail with Charles, sources told Jobson.

The planned meeting was blocked by courtiers, but the Queen is said to have made it clear the couple should not go public at this time.

No senior royal knew in advance the wording of the statement, penned personally by the couple, or that it was about to be released.

Amid fallout over the news, there was said to be a willingness at the palace to make the new roles work. But, senior advisers have stressed, there are “complicated issues” to work through.

In their statement on Wednesday, Harry and Meghan said they intended to “step back”, split their time between the UK and North America, and work to become “financially independent”. A new “progressive role” would see them freed from palace constraints, allowed to earn income, promote their causes while also “continuing to honour our duty to the Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages”.

A number of royal commentators have criticised the decision, with some describing it as the biggest surprise since the Panorama interview with Diana, Princess of Wales.

Dickie Arbiter, a former palace press secretary, said of the couple’s actions: “It seems to be a succession of doing things their own way, which is the wrong way.” Royal author Penny Junor said it had echoes of when Diana announced she was stepping back from 50 of her charities without consulting anybody. “The problem is that they are not working for themselves, they are working for a family firm, and to be making announcements of this sort without consulting is beyond bizarre”.

But Meghan received support from her close friend Jessica Mulroney, Canadian stylist and wife of Canadian TV presenter, Ben Mulroney, who posted a quote attributed to US singer and filmmaker Gina Carey, saying: “A strong woman looks a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink.”

On their new website, sussexroyal.com  the couple said they received just 5% of their funding for official duties from public money through the sovereign grant, the formula for funding the monarchy that replaced the civil list in 2012.

The remaining 95% of their funding comes from Prince Charles’s private income from the Duchy of Cornwall. However, it is understood that the 5% figure does not include travel expenses or their round-the-clock security detail.

They will also hand-pick selected journalists to cover their engagements, and no longer participate in the “royal rota”, which allowed accredited royal correspondents from UK newspapers access to their events.

There has been no further explanation of how they intend to become “financially independent”.

Media organisations often seek to justify criticism of the couple by claiming public interest because they receive public funding. They may hope relinquishing this funding will strip away this justification, and grant them greater power over protecting their privacy.

Harry inherited an estimated £7m from his late mother’s estate, which will have grown with investment. He and William also inherited her dresses and valuable jewellery. He is also thought to have received money from a trust fund left by the Queen Mother, although the exact amount is not known.

David McClure, author of Royal Legacy, about royal finances, estimated the couple could be worth up to £18m in total. He warned: “The history of senior royals making money – the two is a toxic mix. It hasn’t worked well in the past.”

In 2002 the Earl and Countess of Wessex both stood down from their businesses, in television and PR, after accusations they were cashing in on their royal status. Sophie Wessex was caught in a “fake sheikh” sting by an undercover journalist trying to bid for business, which led to a major review by the palace of the royals’ commercial interests.

So far neither the couple, nor Buckingham Palace, has shed any light on the high costs of security to the taxpayer, which runs to more than £100m a year for the whole royal family. The couple’s website states they are classified as “internationally protected people” requiring armed security from the Metropolitan police.

While in the UK, it seems the couple expect their bill to be met by taxpayers. If in Canada, which is a realm, it may fall to Canadian taxpayers. There is no answer to who would pay if they lived in the US. Shuttling across the Atlantic would significantly increase their security bill.

Meanwhile, wax figures of the couple were removed from the royal set at Madame Tussauds in London. Steve Davies, general manager at the attraction, said they would stand separately. “As two of our most popular and well-loved figures they will of course remain an important feature at Madame Tussauds London as we watch to see what the next chapter holds for them.”

My central thesis has always been that the Harkles wanted everything the Wales have and more. I know I remember reading that she cried after hearing William was made Prince of Wales. Right from the get go, her PR was all "Meghan is way better suited to be royal". Then there were all the Commonwealth flowers on her bridal veil and their insistence that they move into Windsor Castle. Now I don't believe everthing Neil Sean says, but his latest video mentions that Megxit was an ultimatum to get Windsor. As that is the traditional home of the Monarch, I feel as though they were attempting a coup.

Then there is the thought that Harry believes that the Dutchy of Cornwall should be split and he should eventually be made co-King or King of the Commonwealth. Let the Wales have that tiny island while they are jetted and feted around the world.

Here's my question for you. Did Meghan and Sparry REALLY believe they could leapfrog over the Wales??? I know her jealousy and envy of Catherine is bunny boiler level and he absolutely eviscerated his brother in Waagh. Has this been their plan all along?? Death by a thousand cuts for the Wales to force them to resign their place in the LOS or that they could somehow convince Charles to make Harry the heir??

I'd like to know where you think the delusions stem from. It wouldn't be the first time in history that younger brother has attempted to remove old brother from the throne.

I'm pretty sure that was exactly their plan: they wanted to use their popularity to force The Queen to name them as her successors. I don't remember where I read this or when, but allegedly Harry sent "documentation" to someone - to whom specifically I can't recall, but options are The Queen, Charles, William, and/or grey suits - providing evidence for claims that he and Meghan were more popular than any of the others and deserved more than what they were getting.

And if they couldn't get the actual crown, they were going to do their damnedest to try and get a co-kingship with William. That's where Meghan's obsession with the Commonwealth came from; she had been told (again, I don't know by whom - all signs point to Harry exaggerating to keep her interested or maybe Charles spitballing ideas during his 'Magnificent Six' planning circa 2012) that William would rule Britannia and Harry would rule the Commonwealth.

I think that's why Meghan went all in on 'racist Kate.' Not only did she want to knock Kate out of the spotlight, she wanted to do enough damage that Commonwealth/realm nations would threaten to quit and The Queen would capitulate by offering to install Harry and Meghan as new leaders. This actually had a chance of working; it's been said quite often during her last years and since her passing that The Queen saw the Commonwealth as her greatest legacy and there was speculation that she would have done anything she could have to keep it in tact. And had Meghan played her cards right, she and Harry probably could have ended up becoming the main ambassadors of and for the Commonwealth, like a Commonwealth version of the UN Secretary-General.

But where the plan failed, obviously, was that it required blaming Kate for problems and issues that don't exist. Because remember, in 2021 when Meghan was making these claims, we'd just gone through the huge global reckoning that was Black Lives Matter and the agreement during/after BLM was "call racist people out on their BS. Put them on blast. Don't let them get away with it anymore." So not only would Meghan have been perfectly justified to name names, cite events, bring receipits, air the real dirty laundry and everyone would've been so much more supportive of it. But she didn't. Instead she played coy and said something like "I'm protecting them even though they don't deserve it."

Girl, please. That was Meghan's one chance to go justifiably scorched earth and air out all the dirty laundry and she fumbled hard.

Anyway. Let's get this train back on track. Where do the delusions come from? Traumatic childhoods courtesy of Mommies Dearest.

We all know Harry's story with Diana. She was a young, fun, free spirited loving mom larger than life with a neediness that she depended on her children to fill, rather than her own husband or other adults her age, so Harry grew to find satisfaction in supporting and providing her what she needed. He probably saw, and understood, the way Diana received what she wanted by exaggerating what she needed and following it up with excluding or isolating herself until whoever came chasing after her to give her what she wanted. And ultimately this led her (and Harry) down a path that ended up killing her; she exaggerated the relationship with Dodi to get attention from Hasnat or the BRF, then isolated herself in France to force whoever (Hasnat? Charles Wales? Charles Spencer?) to come chase after her. We know how that ends.

That's where Harry's delusions, IMO, come from. He saw how it well it worked (mostly) for Diana - exaggerate her needs/wants, then run and hide until she gets it - so he does it too. He probably started doing it right after she died, when no one knew what to do or how to handle him so they kept indulging in everything he wanted, so those wants kept manifesting bigger and bigger. And I think the way we see the BRF treating Harry is what would have happened to Diana had she lived; eventually the public would sour on her (this was already happening, by the way), which would then enable the BRF to grey rock her, devenomizing her in effect, and move on without Diana having too much of an influence on their day-to-day.

It's sort of similar for Meghan. We don't know specifically what happened (the way we do with Harry and Diana), but we know that Doria was a young, fun, free-spirited mother herself married to an older husband who had other priorities (eg kids from his first marriage). Unlike Diana, Doria probably didn't want the responsibilities of motherhood (which is the vibe Meghan and Thomas have given about Doria during Meghan's childhood) and left. And like the BRF, Thomas may have also overcompensated Doria's absence in Meghan's life by giving her everything she asked for, which made her asks get bigger and bigger and when Thomas couldn't deliver, she threatened to leave him...like Doria did and Thomas, erstwhile girldad he was, just kept throwing more and more at Meghan to keep her happy. Her delusions come from preying on other individuals' trauma to ensure she gets what she wants. The bigger her wants (ie the more grandiose her delusions), the harder she manipulates other people's trauma to make sure she gets what she wants. Which is kinda the opposite of Harry and Diana; they create the trauma to get people to do what they want, whereas Meghan exploits it to get people to do what she wants. Both are skills they learned after being abandoned (metaphorically and literally) by their mothers.

And all of Meghan's PR about "young mother," I think it's more insidious than that. Yes, it's a very overt evocation of Diana's narrative. Yes, it's a judgement against Kate. But it is also digs at Doria. "See? Motherhood is hard but I'm prioritizing my kid. How dare you to have left me" kind of spiteful digs meant to shame her for whatever happened that caused her to disappear. Meghan is the kind of person who must always have the last word, so I wouldn't be surprised if she's been targeting or belitting Doria about not knowing certain things about Archie/Lili because she wasn't around when Meghan was that age.

So...yeah.

I've realized now that this is the third or fourth Wednesday in a row that I write these super long analytical/in this essay I will posts. I guess Wednesdays are my thinking days...

BRF Reading - 17th of June 2021

Cards drawn 17th of June, 2021

Question: Will Harry attend the statue unveiling?

Background: The energy on this reading is a bit lighter than Tuesday, but it is still very heavy. The cards did a lot of sticking together and having to be shoved together when I was shuffling, and the final pack had rough edges. So there is still a heavy and reluctant energy to these readings.

Interpretation: Yes. As sources have confirmed, Harry will attend the statue unveiling - and ask for money from his father at the same time.

Card One: Six of Wands. This is a card about success in a venture. A goal has been achieved. Wands can be PR, so this may be a something that has been achieved through PR.

The card shows Jason with the golden fleece raised triumphantly above his head, while his companions cheer in the background. As a card of success, it says that yes, Harry is going to attend the statue unveiling.

The success meaning of the card refers to the event itself, Finally, after years of planning and commissioning and arguing about how it is going to look, the statue is ready to be unveiled. The project is coming to a successful conclusion. Harry will be present as one of the instigators of the project, to cheer as it s unveiled. With respect to the card, the statue is Jason, and Harry is one of the companions in the background.

With respect to PR, I keep thinking of the articles that said Meghan was going to the statue unveiling, and then they were contradicted by Victoria Ward, who people have said is a reporter who is sympathetic to the Sussexes, so in effect the rebuttal came from the Sussex camp. I am wondering if this is what they count as a PR success - a way of saying to the palace 'You don't have to keep a check on us, we do it ourselves'.

Card Two: Temperance. This is a card of balance, of moderation, of taking the middle path. This comes across as advice to Harry - don't go to this statue unveiling full of yourself, or full of grievances. Be moderate, be patient, take the middle path. That will do more to achieve harmony with your family than strutting in like you are the best thing ever. Be Temperance, and not the Six of Wands (the triumphant, swaggering hero).

Harry will be back with his immediate family for this event, so it would be nice if they could achieve some harmony or balance together. Unfortunately, I think the opposite is going to happen - that this event will show just how out of harmony the family is, due to the unbalanced behaviour of Harry and Meghan.

It is rumoured that when Harry returned for the funeral of Prince Philip, his first words to William were "How did you like that?", referring to the recent Oprah interview. I would not be surprised if he displayed a similar attitude at this event - joking around and full of himself, with every joking statement designed to rub in his supposed power over his family. This unbalanced behaviour is the opposite of that recommended by the Temperance card.

Card Three: King of Wands. This is a fire sign, particularly a Leo, and here it represents Meghan, a fire sign Leo. As it appears in the middle of the spread, this card says that Meghan is behind both Harry's behaviour and attitude at this event, as shown in the Temperance card, and she is behind his behaviour as shown in the card ahead of this one, the Six of Pentacles.

Card Four: Six of Pentacles. This is a card of material success, of having enough wealth to give away, or in having success in asking for wealth. The card shows Daedalus being given money by his patron, King Minos. While he is at the statue unveiling, Harry is going to ask for money, status, titles etc. Unlike Daedalus, I don't think Harry is going to be rewarded, and he will come away empty handed.

Harry is also looking for a royal connection - links to Diana, links to the BRF - that he can use to boost his profile in the US. In this area I think he will be much more successful, as the vent is a public and royal reminder that Harry is the son of Diana, Princess of Wales. While we have had many public reminders of this before, mainly from the Harkles, the royal element has been missing. Attending an event with the future king in the grounds of Kensington palace will provide that missing royal element.

This card has come up before for Harry. The repeated image of Harry begging his father for money reinforces the idea that Harry is broke and living beyond his means.

Card Five: The Emperor. The Emperor is a card of a male authority figure, the ultimate patriarch, the boss of everyone. The card shows Zeus, the chief god, in all his glory. This card is coming across as Prince Charles. Coming after the Six of Pentacles, it tells me that Harry will be asking for wealth and power/status from his father at this event (i.e. not from Her Majesty the Queen). Prince Charles is represented here as the head of his family, and as such the person who can accept or deny Harry's request. The energy here is about money, wealth, and as Prince Charles is the one with access to money from the Duchy of Cornwall and he could, if he was so inclined, use some of that money to pay off Harry's debts or give it to Harry, as he has done in the past (although not recently), it makes sense that he is the one Harry approaches with his requests.

Underlying Energy One: Six of Cups. This is a card of childhood, looking back on the past with nostalgia. The card shoes Psyche sitting on a rock, looking over her past with her husband before she takes action in the future. Harry is doing the same thing - reviewing his memories of the past. They may bring him pleasure, but they may also bring up all the real, imagined and misunderstood slights and hurts from his childhood. I am getting half and half energy from this card - some memories are happy ones, some are making Harry feel resentful and angry. I would not be surprised if he turned up in a sulky and petulant mood, blaming everyone for the death of his mother. The memories will almost certainly be aggravating any issues he has around his mother and his place in the royal family.

Underlying Energy Two: The Hermit. This is the card of Virgo, and Harry is a sun-sign Virgo, so this card stands for Harry. The card shows Kronus, Saturn to the Romans, the god associated with time who ruled the Greeks in a mythical golden age. I think Harry is looking back at his childhood as a golden time when nothing went wrong and all his wants were met, which may not match with the reality of his childhood. I feel that the message here for Harry is to take time to sort out his memories, to keep the nostalgia if he likes it but to also look at the events as they appeared to his brother and father - to get different perspectives on what happened. This phrase has been used in regards to the Prince of Wales, for decades now. Since PP stepped down from official duties, HMTQ has been steadily handing over various patronages , to PC, The Duchess of Cornwall, William and Catherine, Harry, gosh even madam got the British Theatre patronage! Lots were delighted about that, NOT! Yet that one was part of the prolonged game of charades the Royal family has been forced to play, even though it’s a game they live, certainly not this variation of the game! PC has been successfully voted in as Head of the Commonwealth, that role does not automatically be bestowed on him. PC will continue to take on more and more responsibilities. In that, we shall observe some of that during the NATO visit, as well as decision making regarding several impending crises situations, which in all likelihood are made and done, we just have not been officially informed of as yet!

TLC, is a tv channel here with oddest shows, pimple popping doctors, married fiancés overseas, guy with five wives etc. We don’t need ,THAT, TLC. TLC is what nurses excel at, good ones anyhow, Tender Loving Care. Whose in need of that? PP is recovering from flu/cold? However he doesn’t strike me as a man that would like to be fussed and clucked around! HMTQ is strong as they come. I wonder if this is our Harry. Adjusting to life without madam, l wonder when and how this will all be made official? I know the surrogate baby is not Harry’s and l have no doubt the child is being lovingly anonymously looked after. Harry, whom,l think l was correct about him being on the bridge the other day, would have had his first active duty incident. He may need not described as TLC but rather debriefing as would the entire team. This is always done after a major incident, first to review protocol, was it carried out, do any changes need done. Then it’s the emotional debriefing, THATS THE ESSENTIAL part of keep a critical response team functional, make sure to debrief the emotions! I imagine , the debriefings, the formal ones are done, 72hours is the golden time window. I have led and been involved with quite a few debriefings, the mental health end of it. Often team members are assigned a mentor especially if they are new to the unit! Great work Harry! I have never ever given up on you, nor will l ever!! Notice they all wore balaclavas, for security! I am quite certain, given the fact Americans are still due to pay taxes even if a non resident and given her status and the wealth she married into, l have no doubt the IRS is auditing her, hence the word scrutiny. Mutiny , that a seafarers word for disobeying the captain and the crew takes over, is also a criminal conspiracy among a group of people to openly oppose, change, or overthrow a lawful authority to which they are subject. Now does this sound like a group of individuals we might know? Madam, MA, JM, etc, the families,in America, Mexico, all allegedly working in tandem.

In other words madam has been doing this her entire life and using the raining excuse to explain her way out of everything! After squidgygate, and other similar ghastly phone calls that were recorded, and then made public, plus intelligence and needs for security in today’s world, l have no doubt that everything is encrypted, and they likely have blocking technology so none of those fancy devices you can, it’s like a clear plastic umbrella, it gathers sound from a distance and you can listen in, you need a jamming device to block the signal, muddying it, if you like. I am sure technology is way way way advanced of that already.

William is away, is she asking her to sit with Harry at the NATO banquet and used discretion when others ask where madam is? I hardly think that would require a big private ask. Will Kate end up wearing the George IV Diamond Diadem when she becomes Queen consort? What will King William wear?

She will most likely wear the Diamond Diadem at some point but it’s not really part of the official crown jewels that are used for ceremonies which I think is how you’re thinking of it.  Because of it’s design It occupies this weird place between a crown and a tiara and it’s become tradition for Queen Elizabeth II to wear it to and from the State Opening of Parliament which gives it kind of a semi-official purpose but there is nothing that says it has to be used that way.  Queens before QEII used it in more of a general way like any other tiara but QEII keeps it to just these state events and I see the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge continuing that tradition.

Now onto the consort crowns that will be used at the coronations.  There are a few different choices, the first of which is to have a new crown made.  The last four queens consort (Adelaide, Alexandra, Mary, & Elizabeth) have each had a new crown made for them but I don’t think they will go this route because it would be seen as an unnecessary expense and would likely be bad from a pr standpoint.  They will probably use either Queen Mary or Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother’s consort crown but both would need some work done so that they fit the new queen.  Each one also has some diamonds that have been replaced with rock crystal for display and those would need to be added back.  After the coronations, Queen Mary and the Queen Mother both wore their crowns without the cap and arches to State Opening of Parliament and to their children’s coronation so I hope that Camilla and Catherine would also use them in that way.

Charles and William will wear the Imperial State Crown and St Edward’s Crown when they are King but I’m interested in what Prince William will wear for his investiture as the Prince of Wales because I don’t care for the coronet that was made for Charles in 1969.

MW: How did you get into music promotion?

DW: I have been working in the music industry a long, long time, mostly in marketing/product management (I was marketing manager at Warners for ten years and Director of Masters at BMG) and artist management. I had always spoken to DJs and knew many key ones. When I was managing, I was also talking to the DJs about getting my artists on radio. It was becoming more and more apparent that I was talking to DJs about radio plays more than anything else. Then I met up with my old friend, Alan McGee, and we got chatting and he said can you take all my label releases to radio for me and so I thought maybe now is the time to move from management and more into radio and so we set up CDP Radio PR. So, it was quite a natural progression.

MW:  How do you usually get a campaign going?

DW: Before anything else it has to be about the music. I'm not interested in working with artists or music that I don't like. Everything always has to be about the music.

Once we have that sorted, I then talk to artist/management about timing i.e is there anything else going on outside of just releasing a track and going to radio? touring? if it's being used in an advert, TV or in a film? brand deal? anything that ties the release to a particular date.

Then you have to look at other things such as “events” ...Valentines, Christmas etc, even the World Cup! Things that will distract people from listening to new music. Obviously, some things happen that are out of your control such as a famous person dying etc, but in general, you need to look at the whole picture and then plan the release.

Ideally, you will be planning a whole campaign not just promoting a new single. Radio like to see the plan. They like to know they are supporting an artist who isn't here today and gone tomorrow. So, once you have all that in place, we then plan on how to release, and that of course changes from band to band.

MW:  What's it generally like dealing with UK radio stations?

DW: You have to accept that there is a lot of music out there all fighting for the same thing. Some will have advantages such as a major label or previous support behind them. So, nothing is a “home run”. You have to understand that some DJs are getting something like 150-200 tracks a week and very few of the national DJs have the freedom to play what they want so you might be 1 of 200 tracks going for one of fifteen free plays… but in general, UK radio stations are incredibly supportive of new music.

MW: Tell me about your BIG successes so far, and those, in the past, you think should have made it BIG...

DW: As far as radio goes, a big success differs from band to band. Some bands such as The Clockworks have been playlisted on BBC Radio 6 Music which is fantastic; but then you take an artist like, Megan Wyn, who was played for around seven weeks in a row on the Gary Crowley show on BBC Radio London.

For other artists who come to me with a great song, but have literally nothing else, so no followers on socials etc, plays from anyone are a huge success.

I guess one of the most pleasing was the Rokia Koné/Jacknife Lee being playlisted on BBC Radio 6 Music - it was a record so different from anything else that I was working with (I've worked with Jacknife in the past but on very different music).

As for ones that should have been big … all of them deserve to be big!

MW: Give some examples of acts you are currently plugging...

DW: Ewan MacFarlane (he should be bigger - certainly in Scotland -his album is incredible). I’ve just finished the latest Megan Wyn single (third single in a row to get A listed at BBC Radio Wales). JW Paris (who have just recorded a John Kennedy Session); Isyla (amazing eco arts duo from Cornwall); Dead Star Talk (I love them. German/Danish band who are massive Britpop fans); Liam Fender (Sam Fender’s brother and an incredible songwriter); Fauna (one of those bands who when you hear the track for the first time you just love it. They’re  from Manchester); Girls in Synthesis (possible album of the year. post punk perfection. Love them) and the list just goes on...

MW: What musical instruments, if any, can you play?

DW: I have trouble keeping time on a triangle! I am musically inept. but I can at least hold a tune.

MW:  Have you ever presented on the radio?

DW: When we were doing Deathdisco, The Club, myself and Alan (McGee) were asked to do a one-off show on what was then XFM. When we got there Alan decided he didn't want to be on-air and so I was left to do it alone. I loved it!  Clearly no one else did as we weren’t asked back!!

The only other radio show I have done was with Danny Goffey from Supergrass. We were given a one-off show on Soho Radio. I had done loads of research for every track, but Danny hadn’t! All I can say here is that they shouldn’t put radio stations so close to pubs!! We both enjoyed it though and I’d love to do more.

MW: If you were in charge of your own FANTASY RADIO FM, what would be your Saturday line-up of presenters (dead or alive)? plus give your reasons for scheduling them in...

DW: So, this is where I offend loads and loads of DJs! It's like choosing my favourite child. So, I'm going to do this without thinking and apologise to everyone later. I also realise my choices are quite old; maybe i need to do two stations because there are some incredible newer DJs out there like Dave Monks at BBC Radio Merseyside, Rowena Alice on Islington Radio, Sam Shiner on Barrelhouse Radio, ‘In Your Ears’ (radio) which showcases music that’s under the radar…again, the list just goes on and on.

BREAKFAST - Lilian Smith from RTE Radio 1, because at 6am in the morning nothing calms the soul like an Irish voice.

MID-MORNING - Phill Jupitus with Mark Lamaar - they made some of the best radio shows ever so I’ve put them together.

LUNCHTIME - Gary Crowley - a legend, and an incredible musicologist.

AFTERNOON - Steve Lamacq - and I would give him more free plays.

EARLY EVENING - John Kennedy - i think its criminal that John is not on Radio X every night. He’s one of the greatest supporters of new music.

LATE SHOW - John Peel - couldn't exactly leave him out, could I?!

OVERNIGHTS - I would choose a different DJ every week… from Gideon Coe, Don Letts, Rob Da Bank and Mickey Bradley.

MW: What type of music would FANTASY RADIO FM station play?

DW: From the list it looks quite Alternative but people like Jupitus and Lamaar are not going to be selecting music by genre.

MW:  What are your GO TO daily reads (a) newspapers (b) magazines (c) websites (d) social media and why in each case?

DW: I’m ashamed to say I rarely have time for any of them other than Twitter. In fact, I have a love/hate relationship with Twitter. I love how easy it is to use for bands and DJs and pluggers, but I also hate how it drags you into other areas. Maybe that's just me. If i could just use Twitter 100% for my job, then great but I can't; I'll see a comment and off I go!

I used to devour the music press: NME, Melody Maker, Sounds, Uncut, Mojo but now I read books instead.

MW: How do you think England will do at this year's World Cup in Qatar, and who do you think will actually win the competition?

DW: Well, this should lose me some friends! I have Scottish heritage and therefore have never felt English, even though I was born here to English parents.

I think it will be between Brazil and France. I hope England go out early so we can enjoy the tournament without all the English bias... ha ha… sorry.

MW: Have you ever read Nick Hornby’s FEVER PITCH?

DW: Of course. A fantastic book and film. And yes, I’m unashamedly an Arsenal fan.

I've tried and failed to name all of my children after Arsenal players. The closest I got was one of my sons is called Emmanuel (after Petit) but it was a name my wife had already liked. I went to my first game in August 1972 and saw us beat Stoke. I rarely go now due to costs etc, but they are as important to me now as they ever were. It’s great to see us sitting at the top of the Premier league which is something I point out to Marc Riley whenever I send him a tune lately.

I think Nick Hornby’s other biggie, HIGH FIDELITY, is another amazing read, however it took me a long time to watch the film though as I worked in record shops and some of it was a bit too close to home.

What would your 1 year, 5 year and 10 year plan be for The Duchess of Cambridge if you were her private secretary?

What would you do if you were Kate’s private secretary

Because I loved Jessica’s answer, I’m curious to know what would you do as Catherine’s Private Secretary? what would be your plan in the short, medium and long term and how would you handle the PR aspect.

First of all, sorry to Jessica and her anon who created this idea because I have blatantly stolen it and, second, thank you to my anons who clearly read my tags! I’m going to answer the PR aspect more in another post so stay tuned!

1 YEAR – this is from September 1 2020 to August 31 2021

From September, I would expect to see her more. I’d tell her to do at least one visible engagement a week (following social distancing) and at least one other engagement, preferably with a photo/photos released after the fact. I know she takes the school holidays off, which is fine, but I’d want her to make up the “missed” engagements in other weeks

In January, I’d expect Louis to start nursery (I think he would have started in April but a global pandemic had other ideas and I can understand why they haven’t started him in September). Once he’s in nursery and the others are back in full time school, I’d want to see her up her engagement count to at least two visible engagements per week (pre-pandemic I said that if she worked the equivalent of 3 mornings a week that would be 156 engagements)

I don’t imagine there will be much overseas travel in the next year but I’d like to see her do zoom calls with charities from Commonwealth Countries with similar concepts to her patronages. While she can’t go abroad, I want her and Will to essentially do what Felipe and Letizia have been doing – tour the UK, visiting areas which have been affected by the pandemic (and by UK I mean all four countries, as well as the islands, if possible)

Continue her work with the Baby Banks (which I love) and release a statement saying the Early Years Foundation is continuing but in the immediate future they’re going to focus on early years in response to the pandemic. I think she should do some work with schools and nurseries, focused on that massive gap from March to September this year, and work with families who spent lockdown with little room and the impact that will have had on their mental health. I’d also like her to return to her garden idea and do something around making more public green space

Social media-wise, I’d like to see a balance of what they’re doing now and what they did during lockdown. For engagements, I’d like to see a selection of photos and a formally written description. If something more casual happens, they can make a separate post about that. I’d tell them to continue releasing photos for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, Easter, etc. I’d also tell them to try and release a short video of the kids when they can – for example, they could release a video of them wrapping presents to donate to a food bank near Christmas

Similarly, I’m assuming there will be open air pantos this Christmas. Go to one with George and Charlotte.

Their 10 year wedding anniversary is next year. In the lead up to their anniversary, I’d tell them to make posts on social media about different aspects of their wedding – the cake, the flowers, the dress, the ceremony, the carriages, the charities they raised money for – as well as behind the scenes photos if they have any. On April 29th, I’d tell them to release a new “couple” photo, as well as private photos from their wedding day. I’d like them to release a full royal regalia couple photo as well, but it might not be appropriate coming off the back of the pandemic (off topic but I also want to see lots of their 40th birthdays the year afterwards)

5 YEARS

Early Years – release the results of the 5 big questions survey, with information as to what they’re going to do with the findings. I’d love her to do something in early years education, as well as more work supporting the mental health of early years and new parents. I’d tell her to release a yearly update and show some photographs of the behind the scenes work

Sports – Kmiddy loves her sport so I’d tell her to keep going with that. I think she needs to focus on introducing children to sport and sport children from poorer and disadvantaged backgrounds can easily access

Patronages – Kate needs to do at least 1 engagement for each of her Patronages each year. She always does an engagement for the AELTACC but I want the same energy for everything. If one of her patronages is doing fundraising or launching an initiative, I want her to get behind it. I’d also like to see her take on new patronages in new areas

The arts – coming off the back of the pandemic, the arts need support. I’d tell her to go to at least one show a year, as well as visit her museum and gallery patronages. I’d suggest she tries to create or support a programme getting disadvantaged children access to the arts. I’d also like her to do more around the concept of arts as a form of therapy for younger children

State Visits – I love seeing her at state dinners but I want her involved in the rest of the visit as well. When the Japanese State Visit gets rearranged, perhaps she could join the Emperor and Empress on a tour of the NHM or the V&A. Even just meeting with them and releasing a behind the scenes photo of a private dinner between the Cambridges and whoever.

The UK – keep visiting the whole of the UK. The UK summer holidays are 6 weeks but for private schools, it’s longer, so George and Charlotte will normally get a summer holiday of around 8 weeks. For three of those weeks, I’d like to see the Cambridge family go on holiday to Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. They don’t have to be consecutive weeks. For example, during their Wales holiday (they could stay in one place one year, travel around Wales the next year, etc.) they could arrive on the Monday and visit a market town with the kids, visit a charity on Tuesday, have Wednesday private, take the kids to somewhere outdoorsy and sporty on Thursday, and release some private photos on the Friday. They still have 5 weeks to have private holidays etc.

The King’s Cup Regatta – make it an annual thing, changing up the charities. Continue participating. Take the kids. The Middleton’s came last time, invite the whole RF

The children – continue taking the children to TTC and Christmas. Try and do a family polo match at least twice a year, taking the kids, and letting the public see them interact with their cousins. I also want to see them on UK-based engagements that aren’t trooping. Go to the ballet and take Charlotte. Apparently, they all love cooking, do an outdoor kids cooking engagement. George loves helicopter so take him to an Air Cadet engagement. Something around the idea of a sporting event for young children would be a good idea to take them to

A new project – I expect Kate to create a new project in the next 5 years. I’d like it to be connecting her work in Early Years with her work in the arts. I would straight up pay her to make it about textiles

10 YEARS – aka the Princess of Wales (this will be vaguer)

Overseas visits – I put this in 10 years, not 5 years, because I don’t know what the state of travel will be like over the next year or so. Each year, I want to see two full tours, at least one of which needs to be a Will & Kate tour. The other one can be a Cambridge tour, a Will & Kate tour, or a solo Kate tour. I want them to continue visiting other monarchies (during their W&K tours) and I think they still need to continue with their Brexit charm offensive. I’d also love to see more tours to South America and East Asia. For solo tours, I’m more than happy for Kate to keep doing single day trips until Louis is older but, after that, I need her to go to Italy. I also think she could do a full solo Mediterranean tour

Foreign royals – the Scandi tour is popular for a reason. More visits to foreign monarchies and more engagement with foreign royals. When foreign monarchs die, go to the funerals. When foreign royals marry/give birth, at least send/post a message, if not go to the wedding. If another royal family visits the UK, participate in the State Visit. Once they are Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, they will be the same place in the line of succession as Victoria, Frederik, Haakon, Guillaume, etc. Use that. Haakon and Fred both have interest in sports – create an engagement around that. The Crown Princess Victoria's Fund supports children with chronic illnesses and functional disabilities – create an engagement focused on the mental health of these children

Patronages – she needs to take more on. I don’t expect to see as many as the old guard because I still think she should try and do one engagement per patronage per year at least, but she should take on patronages in other areas: fostering, child abuse, postpartum psychosis, mothers in prison, arts as therapy, sports as therapy, green spaces, forest schools, baby banks, food banks, underprivileged and underfunded schools, clubs for disadvantaged children. She also needs some more boring patronages, like the military and diplomatic ones

Away days – I’d expect a minimum of two full away days a month, scattered throughout the UK. If a full away day can’t happen, she needs to do more engagements in places that aren’t London, similar to her UK tour for 5BigQuestions. Work with disadvantaged areas in the North. Work with outdoor spaces and forest schools in the South West. Look into language in North Wales. Talk about food banks in Perth. I want to see her continue the holidays in the UK. As the Duchess of Cornwall and possibly Princess of Wales, I want to see more engagements in Wales and Cornwall, like Charles and Camilla currently do

Taboo topics – now she’s found her feet, I’d like her to start looking at those more taboo subjects. Kate works with mental health – I’d suggest she starts looking into psychosis and BPD, and schizophrenia. She works with children – look at the impact of prisons and the prison system on people under the age of 18. She is passionate about maternal mental health – what about parents in prison? What about parents who aren’t mentally stable enough to care for all the needs of their children? Other areas which I think fit her interests are child and domestic abuse, childhood drug abuse, and fostering
