Dark fleets and Sanctions
We now have two worlds of international commerce, as a result of trade wars and the Ukraine-Russia conflict. As the Western world, principally the EU, UK and related countries and the US look to tighten sanctions on Russian oil exports, some shipowners are finding creative ways to get around the rules set by the West. One important escape hatch is to flag ships with a Flag State that doesn’t…

⛥゚・。 protector: chapter five
synopsis: " you were supposed to stay a crewate, just another back to watch, " he tightened his hold, " i didn't even notice the change until i woke up one day and realized i'd take a bullet for you "
cw: violence, gore, fighting, mature themes, profanity, MAJOR/MINOR ANIME SPOILERS, follows the plot of the anime, slowww burn.
a/n: reposting from another account
You groaned as you felt your head stir, slowly sitting up.
You could tell your power had already come into effect, the pain in your wing and side completely gone.
'Nami was gone, Luffy was fighting, and Zoro was asleep, so they probably didn't notice it.'
"What happened?" you weakly asked as you placed a hand on your head.
That's when it all came back to you.
You used your wings to fly straight into the air, frantically looking around.
It was the ocean, and below you were two boats, Nami being on one and Zoro and Luffy being on the other.
"Relax, (y/n)! The fight's over!" Zoro called.
You took a deep sigh of relief before flying back down, landing on Zoro's boat.
"Sorry. Reflexes," you apologized as you rubbed the back of your neck.
"No worries!" Luffy smiled.
"Back to what I was saying. There's absolutely no way we'll make it to the Grand Line in this condition," Nami stated.
"You're right, we're gonna need a whole lot more meat. Eating fruit everyday is for the birds," Luffy added as he finished off an apple core.
"We'll also needs some booze," Zoro smirked.
That reminded you.
"Here, mosshead. Knock yourself out," you chuckled as you tossed him a sake bottle, the one you had bought from the old man at the bar.
His eyes lit up as it landed in his lap, and you laughed even more.
"Ugh! That's not what I mean. The Grand Line's a dangerous place, we'll need more than beer and meat to survive there. Not to mention the place is crawling with pirates who are also in search of the One Piece. And they all have ships that are way better than this," Nami corrected, throwing an apple at Zoro's head.
"And we don't have a crew," Luffy chimed with a mouthful of apple.
"We don't have a crew, we don't have any equipment, or even a real ship for that matter! There's no way we'll ever make it like this," Nami groaned.
"We'll need a cook, and maybe a musician to keep us entertained," Luffy smiled.
"A musician?" Zoro heartily laughed.
"A little south of here is an island with some settlements on it. And it looks like we might be able to get out ship and some of the supplies we need form there," Nami sighed as she looked at her map.
"Finally," you groaned, throwing your head back.
"Fresh meat at last!" Luffy cheered.
"Lots of booze as well," Zoro smiled.
"What is with you and booze?" you asked.
"Says the girl who was hiding her stash," Zoro glared, taking a swig of the bottle you gave him.
"Is that all you guys think about? Ugh! What am I gonna do with you three?" Nami exclaimed in anguish, throwing her hands in the air.
The four of you finally touched land on this island and you spread out your wings, stretching.
"Ooo, that feels good," you smiled, flapping them a little bit so you could hover off the ground.
"There's a village around here somewhere, right?" Luffy asked.
"Yeah. It looks like a small one, though," Nami answered.
"Ooh! Ooh! Then there's meat! There has to be a place to eat meat in this village!" Luffy smiled, drooling at the mouth.
"Just forget about meat for a minute, would ya?" Nami grumbled.
Just then, you heard a rustling noise.
"Careful. We're being watched," Zoro said in a low voice, popping a bit of his sword out his holster.
"Who?! Where?! Do they have meat?!" Luffy smiled, looking around.
"Look out!" you warned Luffy as these pebbles began shooting at him.
Suddenly, these pirate flags began popping up from the bushes.
You quickly flew up into the treeline and perched on a branch, where you saw this guy with curly hair and a long nose stand at the edge of the ledge.
"I am Usopp! Leader of the invincible nation of pirates who reign over this island! You stand before a living legend, the most revered pirate who ever lived! I am the Great Captain Usopp!" He smirked
"Surely you know that plotting an attack on this island would mean certain death! My army of super mean pirate soldiers would squash you like bugs!"
"AWESOME!" Luffy exclaimed.
"You expect us to believe that?" you scoffed, swooping down and grabbing him by the ankle, hoisting him up.
"Ahhh! She knows!" he exclaimed.
"Well now I do," you smirked.
"Ohh no! I practically told her I was lying! I'm such an idiot! So stupid! Please spare me!" he squirmed, looking like a worm on a hook in your grasp.
"What?! He was lying?!" Luffy exclaimed.
"Curse you! 80 million may have been an exaggeration, but I have a great many men under my control!" Usopp continued.
"My guess is three," you smirked again, your guess confirmed by the screaming of three kids that jumped out the bushes.
They immediately dropped the flags and ran away.
"Hey! Where're you guys going?! Come back!" Usopp shouted at them, fearfully looking up at you.
"A pirate using a slingshot. Well, now I've seen it all," Nami smiled, picking up one of the stones Usopp shot.
"That's pretty cool!" Luffy laughed,
"Grr! Shut your mouth or I'll shut it for you! I'm a proud man and I won't stand for it! This is your last warning, or you'll get to see why they call me, Proud Usopp, and not, Pushover Usopp. Is that clear? You've already seen or yourself how good I am with this thing, so, you know I can rival anyone carrying a pistol!" Usopp ordered, drawing his slingshot and aiming it, while still upside down.
"Just gimme the word captain and I'll drop 'im," you shrugged, Usopp whimpering.
"Now that you've drawn your pistol... are you willing to use it?" Luffy smirked.
Usopp looked shocked.
"Guns aren't for threats, they're for actions. Are you willing to risk your life?"
"I can assure you, we're real pirates. Consider your next move very carefully," Zoro warned.
Usopp struggled with himself for a moment before dropping it.
"Gah. Real pirates have a lot more punch behind their words, 'cause they can actually back 'em up! That's so cool," he sighed.
Luffy and Zoro began to chuckle.
"I stole that. I stole that from Red Haired Shanks, a pirate I know," Luffy smiled.
"What?! You know Red-Haired Shanks? You really are a pirate!" Usopp exclaimed as you carefully dropped him back on the ledge.
"Wait, you gotta be lying, do you really know him?"
"Yep! I know your dad, too. His name's Yassop, right?" Luffy asked.
Usopp cheesed like an idiot before tumbling down the ledge, landing face first.
"You're right. My old man's name is Yassop. But, how? How in the world do you know him?" he asked.
Usopp took the four of you to this place in the village to eat so you could talk a little bit more.
"This is good, huh?" Usopp asked, muffled by the rice in his mouth.
"So, I met your dad when I was just a little kid," Luffy started, taking a large bit out of this piece of melon meat.
"Hold on, does my old man really know Shanks?" Usopp asked.
"Know him? When I met your dad he was part of Shanks' crew, so they were probably pretty good friends," Luffy smiled.
"I can't believe it! My old man, sailing the high seas with famous pirates," Usopp dreamily sighed.
"I haven't heard from him in a while, but I bet he's still with them. He was a heck of a sharpshooter! I'd keep him on my crew!" Luffy continued, grabbing an apple.
"He used to go on and on about his son. I think I heard enough about you to make my ears bleed. And lemme tell you, he was a great pirate!"
"I sure am proud of my old man. He leapt into a pirate's life on the endless sea, and chose a life of real adventure!" Usopp beamed.
"Maybe you can help us. Do you know someone who can provide us with a decent ship? Or even anyone who knows how to sail for that matter?" Nami asked.
"Well, it's a pretty small village. Sorry, but I just don't think we'll be able to help you," Usopp shrugged, his face telling me otherwise.
"What about that mansion?" Zoro asked.
Usopp squeaked.
"The one on top of that hill over there."
"Do you know them, Usopp? I mean, it's a pretty small village," you smirked, resting your cheek in your palm, "With all that money, surely they could help us get our boat."
"You stay away from there!" he snapped.
Everyone gave him a confused look.
"Gah! I mean-I just remembered something that I really gotta do! Everybody knows me at this place, so, uh, stay and eat as much as you want! Gotta go!" Usopp said hurriedly before rushing out the door.
"Why was he in such a hurry to get out of here?" Nami asked.
"I think you scared him," Zoro smirked at you.
"It's not like I did it on purpose," you shrugged, smirking back.
"The Usopp Pirates have arrived!" the three kids from the beach shouted, bursting through the door.
"Who're these kids?" Nami asked.
"Fess up, you filthy pirates! What have you done with our beloved captain?! Tell us now!" the one with the pepper-like head demanded.
"Yeah! Tell us now!" the onion and carrot looking ones shouted in unison.
"Ah. That meat sure was good!" Luffy smiled, rubbing his stomach.
"Meat?!" Carrot exclaimed.
"These pirates are cannibals!" Onion trembled.
You and Nami snickered.
"What have you done with him, you savages?!" Pepper shouted.
"If you're looking for your captain... we ate him," Zoro smirked, putting on this creepy face.
"AHH! CANNIBALS!" the three screamed, looking dead at Nami.
"HUH?! WHAT'RE YOU PUNKS LOOKING AT ME FOR?!" Nami shouted.
You, Luffy, and Zoro burst into laughter, slapping the table.
"You really had us goin' there," Pepper sighed as all of you approached the mansion.
They were showing you to the big mansion that Usopp told you to stay away from.
"Whoa! This place is huge!" Luffy exclaimed, mouth gaped.
"And if our captain ran off at this hour, then this is the place he's gonna be," Onion firmly stated.
"Oh. What in the world does Usopp come here for?" you asked.
"He comes to lie," Carrot smiled.
"To lie? That's terrible," Nami said disapprovingly.
"He's great! Isn't he?" Pepper smiled.
"Yeah! He's awesome!" Onion agreed.
"How is a liar awesome?" Zoro asked, cocking a brow.
"Well, Kaya, the girl who lives there, had been in a terrible depression that's kept her weak and in bed since her parents got sick and died a year ago. She's very rich, but all that money couldn't help her recover from her sadness. So our captain tells her special, made-up stories to make her laugh and cheer her up!" Pepper explained.
"Captain Usopp is the best at telling lies!" Carrot beamed.
"That really is pretty nice of him," Luffy nodded.
"So when he tells her these made up stories, he makes her feel better?" you asked, squatting down to their level.
"Yup! Lots better," Pepper nodded.
"Great! I think we should ask her for a ship after all!" Luffy smiled.
"We're not the one's making her feel better, Usopp is," Zoro sighed.
"Getting in is impossible. Those guards at the gate don't let anyone through!" Onion stated.
"I'll go ask her!" Luffy called, climbing the fence, stretching his arms so he could get ready to shoot himself over.
"Luffy, no—!"
You all ran over to try and hold him down but he shot all of you in the air with him.
"LUFFY, YOU IDIOT!"

"I wonder if our white fellow men realize the true sense or meaning of brotherhood? For two hundred years we had toiled for them; the war of 1861 came and was ended, and we thought our race was forever freed from bondage, and that the two races could live in unity with each other, but when we read almost every day of what is being done to my race by some whites in the South, I sometimes ask, 'Was the war in vain? Has it brought freedom, in the full sense of the word, or has it not made our condition more hopeless?' In this 'land of the free' we are burned, tortured, and denied a fair trial, murdered for any imaginary wrong conceived in the brain of the negro-hating white man. There is no redress for us from a government which promised to protect all under its flag. It seems a mystery to me. They say, 'One flag, one nation, one country indivisible.' Is this true? Can we say this truthfully, when one race is allowed to burn, hang, and inflict the most horrible torture weekly, monthly, on another?"
Everybody raise a glass to the memory of Susie King Taylor (neé Baker), teacher, author, field nurse, and Civil War hero. Susie holds the singular distinction of being the first Black woman to write and publish a memoir of her wartime experiences. Born enslaved in 1848 Savannah, Georgia, Susie was fortunate enough to be able to attend secret schools taught by Black women --despite the state's harsh literacy laws regarding slaves. Her principal teacher was a free woman of color who is only ever named as "Mrs. Woodhouse," a friend of Susie's grandmother, Dolly Reed, and over the years Susie would herself surreptitiously educate other enslaved persons. At the age of 14 she became free when her uncle led her out to a Union gunboat patrolling near Fort Pulaski (in Confederate hands at the time). Along with many other formerly-enslaved Black refugees in the aftermath of the Battle of Port Royal, Susie sought safety behind Union lines on the South Carolina Sea Islands.
Expediency led Susie to attach herself to the 1st South Carolina Volunteers, later known as the 33rd U.S. Colored Troops --the very first Black regiment in the U.S. Army. Formed in 1862, this unit boasted a large number of Gullah recruits. Having originally signed on as a regimental laundress and cook, Taylor's literacy quickly elevated her to the role of reading and writing instructor for many of the black Union soldiers during their off-duty hours. She also served as a field nurse. Military governor Rufus Saxton took notice of Taylor's talents and entrusted her with munitions and equipment responsibilities far beyond the scope of a laundress. She married a Sergeant Edward King of Company E in 1864, and the 33rd Regiment itself ultimately dissolved in 1866. The Kings settled in Savannah and established a school for Black children; unfortunately Edward died in a dockside accident only a few months after the birth of their son. Susie moved to Boston in 1870 and joined the Women's Relief Corps (of which she would eventually become president).
By 1879 Susie had remarried a Russell Taylor of Boston, and while she continued her work with the Women's Relief Corps, had also begun work on a memoir of her time with the regiment --originally intended for her son, she instead opted to publish the essays in 1902 as Reminiscences of My Life in Camp with the 33D United States Colored Troops, Late 1St S. C. Volunteers.
So... yeah. Go pick that one up and give it your undivided attention. And then pour one out for Susie, who died on this date (October 6), 1912, in Boston. She is buried at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Forgotten standard bearers? African American Soldiers and Iwo Jima 🦅
The Battle of Iwo Jima is known as one of the bloodiest and most intense battles fought during World War II. It lasted for 36 days, with the United States Marine Corps facing off against the Imperial Japanese Army.
The battle was significant for several reasons, including the iconic photograph of U.S. Marines raising the American flag on Mount Suribachi, which has become a symbol of American patriotism. However, there is another aspect of the battle that is often overlooked - the role of African American soldiers.
At the time of World War II, the U.S. military was still segregated, and African American soldiers served in separate units from their white counterparts. The majority of these soldiers were relegated to support roles, such as cooks, drivers, and laborers.
However, there were also several African American combat units, including the 369th Infantry Regiment, known as the Harlem Hellfighters, and the 761st Tank Battalion, known as the Black Panthers.
During the Iwo Jima campaign African American soldiers were responsible for providing artillery support to the Marines on the ground. They fired over 6,000 rounds during the campaign, often under intense enemy fire. African American Marines often served as ammunition handlers and stretcher bearers.
An estimated 700 to 900 African American soldiers participated in the epic island battle, many of whom were Marines trained in segregated boot camps at Montford Point, within Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
African American soldiers continued to serve with distinction and bravery despite discrimination and racial inequality.

British Columbia (Headcanon)
British Columbia, the “chill province”. Biggest province of the west, she’s the third most populous of the country with a population estimated to 5,368,266 (2022). She’s the second most expensive place to live in, after Ontario.
When in the east coast, with New France and the thirteen colonies, it was the French fighting the British to get more land, BC was disputed between Spain in Russia, in the 1700s. It’s when James Cook, an English man who was the first to chart the land (this is not considering the many Natives communities who lived there first), came in that Britain settled the conflict. Before the 1850s, it was mainly used as fur post, with the Vancouver island managed by the Hudson bay company. Then, in 1857, it was the gold rush, and the colony of British Columbia was made, which the Vancouver colony joined after the rush in the 1860s. BC, who was separated by the rocky mountains from the rest of the British colonies, was made a province in the 1871 (country was made in 1867) when MacDonald promised there would a rail link from the east cost to them. (Note: this is generic reshearch I did. BC is the province of the West coast and I'm from the Québec on the East coast, so I don't really know their whole history)
British Columbia is friendly, but not kind (think of the West coast states like when Washington joins the Table). She keep to herself, but is nice enough to be friend with Alaska, Washington, and Yukon. She can relate to them with the earthquakes and wildfire season, but she’s kind of cynical. She understand many languages (Spanish and Russian from the conflict, and remember but can`t really speak her Natives' languages anymore), but mostly speak English; she’ll speak French either to annoy Alberta, or to mock Québec. Like most of the provinces, she’s a loner, and will annoy the others when she can. She’s chill, kind of "don’t really care for work" (she hates it) and still share some hippie vibes to anyone who don't know her. She also a good actress, making you believe she cares about it when she can't wait to never see you again.
As for temperature, she’s fairly stable, staying around 20°C/70°F in the summer to 0°C/32°F to 5°C/41°F in the winter. Concerning her relationships with other provinces, as said before she mostly keep to herself, so not close to them at all. She will banter time and time again with Alberta, who wants a pipeline to cross the Rocky mountains to sell oil in Asia, but BC is pro-environment, therefore she obviously refused, thus the banter environment vs economy is common between those two, but if you insult the west? The west twins and Yukon are suddenly her bests friends.
Physically, she (6’4) is taller than Texas (6’3), and got that smile where you’re not sure if she’s honest or fucking with you. She has golden skin, mid-back curly, bleached blond hair with and dark green eyes. She has an eternal pacific dogwood flower crown on her head, a white cropped tank top with a Canucks pin and she wears her flag as a boho skirt with black doc martens. She always got a join on her, even if she already smoking one (she’s meaner when she’s not high, so the other provinces don’t mention it to Cana).
Here she is, polite, visibly chill. She’s probably savouring the fact that she made Alberta angry again.

Scenes from Nazi Summer Camp
In the years leading up to WWII, children across the United States spent their summers learning archery and antisemitism.
— January 18, 2024 | Kirstin Butler
Children at a German American Bund camp stand at attention as the American flag and the Bund youth flag are lowered in a sundown ceremony in Andover, N.J., July 21, 1937. Associated Press.
Camp Wille und Macht—Will and Might—came first, in 1934, and was joined in New Jersey by Camp Nordland in Andover and Camp Bergwald in Bloomingdale. In Wisconsin, Camp Hindenberg claimed ground along the banks of the Milwaukee River, and children left their homes for Camp Siegfried in Long Island, the Deutschhorst Country Club in Pennsylvania and Sutter Camp in Los Angeles, California. Photographs and footage from the 1930s document those children pitching tents, cooking baked beans, hiking and singing songs. “It looks like any kind of Boy Scout camp or Girl Scout camp,” author Arnie Bernstein told American Experience. “But these were Nazi camps in America.”
The camps were owned and operated by the German American Bund, a pro-Nazi organization formed by U.S. citizens of German descent in the years leading up to World War II. With scores of chapters and thousands of members across the country, the Bund promulgated an antisemitic, isolationist agenda that sought to establish Nazi ideology in the new homeland. An important part of Bund policy was the creation of a program modeled after the Hitler Youth, the Nazi movement for young Germans. Bund parents enrolled children as young as six into the Jungvolk, which at age 14 split into the Jugendschaft for boys and Mädchenschaft for girls. The Bund camps became the main site for their indoctrination.
Most of the camps were located in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, but others sprouted up in locations like Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and California, with an estimated 15 to 25 camps distributed across the country, most in communities with a large German diaspora. Campers were dressed in uniforms featuring the Hitler Youth’s lightning bolt insignia, adorned with swastika pins and given knives inscribed with the phrase “Blut und Ehre,” or “blood and honor.” Daily activities also took on militaristic tones, including target practice and the Sieg Heil salute.
The Bund also published a German-language magazine for its youth members—first called Jung Sturm and then Junges Volk—whose pages featured campers’ accounts and photo spreads dedicated to selective parts of the camp experience. Not depicted, however, were activities that later became public knowledge—like forced nighttime marches that culminated in fireside renditions of the Nazi anthem—after an erstwhile camper testified in 1939 before the House Committee on Un-American Activities. (HUAC was originally formed in part to address concerns about the Bund, as well as other Fascist and Communist organizations in the U.S.) Its leader was ultimately charged with embezzlement, and the group’s assets were seized; some of its leaders and members deported. As the Bund’s troubles multiplied and membership dwindled, the camps closed.
But many of the camps’ archives survived, as did, presumably, children’s recollections of their time spent there and the messages that accompanied it. “It was an experience, a trip, that will remain in our memories forever,” Adirondacks camp director Gregor wrote in Junges Volk.
Four young boys peek out of their tent at the Deutschhorst Country Club, a recreational Bund site outside of Sellersville, Pennsylvania. July 26, 1937, Historical Society of Pennsylvania.
“The German Youth Association will be opening a camp this summer… I’m looking forward to what we’re going to do. We’ll go swimming, play soccer, do gymnastics, go on rides, tell stories, go for walks, do outdoor activities and play lots and lots of games. And now the best part: get up at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow morning and bathe in ice-cold water.” - Edgar, 11, camper in Jungsturm

“The bugle wakes you up for morning exercise, washing and raising the flag. After the stars and stripes and the camp flag have been hoisted, the pennants are put in their places, the daily motto is announced and a new camp day begins, filled with work and pleasure until curfew.” - Anita, 14, camper, in Junges Volk

“Just watch those long columns march past, their gaily colored flags flying in the breeze, their strong, tanned legs keeping time to the roll of the long drums, and you shall realize the value of the camp: training ground for the generation of tomorrow. This new generation used to the rigors of camp-life with its long marches, its lonely sentinel duty, its life in the open by rain and storm and hot, burning sun, will be fit to carry on the resurrection of the German in America.” - Paul M. Ochojski, Junges Volk columnist
The summer 1937 issue of the Bund youth magazine featured a gallery of images from its various camp sites—”unsere Jugendlager”—across the country. Image courtesy Leo Baeck Institute.
“We stayed at this fabulous lake for another week and a half, shot wild game and climbed the highest mountains, before it was time to go home. It was an experience, a trip, that will remain in our memories forever. Our youth group has been going to this wonderful mountain range for four years now to set up a summer camp there.” - Gregor, camper, in Jungsturm

“We look with heartfelt reverence and sincere trust to the great leader of our old homeland, with the wish that God bless his new work—we are aware of our responsibility as German-American youth and will do our part to ensure that the new spirit of our times will once again become a force for the renewed health of our people. Rise up!” - Erna, camper, in Jungsturm
“This is our main goal, to create a large community of American-German youth, where all boys and girls who are of German blood pass through our youth movement. We want to ensure that the German race of the American people will be healthier and stronger, and from which the leaders of the nation will emerge.” - Junges Volk editorial, summer 1937

Details of Sicily yacht incident
Divers were searching for six missing people, including British technology tycoon Mike Lynch, who were on board the British-flagged luxury yacht Bayesian, which sank off the coast of Sicily during a storm.
Specialist cave divers, in 12-minute underwater shifts, were searching for six missing passengers and crew members on Tuesday. The yacht Bayesian was carrying a crew of 10 people and 12 passengers when it suddenly sank near a Mediterranean island around 4 a.m. on Monday. One body was recovered and 15 people survived.
Fire and rescue officials said six people believed to have remained in the hull of the sailboat would be considered missing until they were found among the wreckage.
Italian civil defence officials believe a sudden and severe storm that hit the Sicilian coast in the early hours of Monday caused a water tornado at the very spot where the 56-metre (184-foot) British-flagged Bayesian vessel was moored. Karsten Borner, the captain of another yacht moored nearby, found a lifeboat with 15 people, some of whom were injured. They brought them aboard their yacht and alerted the coastguard.
Rescue services reported that the wreck rested at a depth of 50 metres (163 feet) about half a mile off the shore of Porticello fishing village.
Missings and survivors
In June, Lynch was acquitted of all charges in a US fraud trial related to the $11bn sale of his software company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard in 2011. However, Lynch still faces a potentially huge bill stemming from a civil case in London that HP largely won in 2022. The amount of damages in that case has yet to be determined, but HP is seeking $4 billion.
Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter Hannah was reportedly among those missing. His wife, Angela Bacares, and 14 others survived. One of Lynch’s US attorneys, Christopher Morvillo of Clifford Chance, and Morvillo’s wife, Neda, went missing on Tuesday, according to the civil protection agency.
Jonathan Bloomer, non-executive chairman of Morgan Stanley International, and his wife Judy are also missing. One body was recovered on Monday, identified as a flight cook.
Charlotte Golunski was among the survivors. She said she lost her one-year-old daughter Sofia in the water for a moment, but then managed to grab her and hold her above the waves until a lifeboat inflated. The father, identified by ANSA as James Emslie, also survived.
The Dutch Foreign Ministry stated that the Dutchman, whose identity was withheld for privacy reasons, also managed to survive.
More details
Sicily has been languishing in a heatwave this summer, and a panel of UN climate change experts says the Mediterranean Sea is particularly vulnerable to climate change, with the rate of warming about 20 per cent higher than the global average. Experts say it is extremely rare for a luxury sailing yacht of this size to capsize due to weather events.
Skip Novak, a lifelong sailor who has taken part in multiple round the world yacht races and written books about sailing, said:
“This just doesn’t happen. You know, boats sink because things like keels fall off, or they run aground and breach the hull … whereas just from a weather angle, a boat that big being pushed over on its side is absolutely extraordinary.”
When you’re at anchor, even if it’s blowing with a storm in the Mediterranean, you rarely shut the whole boat down because nobody expects something like this to happen. So if the boat wasn’t completely watertight at the deck, you’d have flooding going in. It would take a couple minutes and that would be it.
As the search for the missing continues, authorities have already begun trying to reconstruct an accurate picture of what happened. Prosecutors in the Sicilian town of Termini Imerese have launched an investigation, as is usual in such cases, even when no suspects have been identified.
The British Marine Accident Investigation Branch said four of its inspectors were on their way to Palermo.

The Mood of Plastic Beach
So, this isn’t really a review or anything. Gorillaz have been very beneficial to my mental health lately, so I decided to write about how the two albums I’ve listened to the most make me feel and what imagery the songs conjure up. It’s not like, a ranked list or anything, I don’t really want to say one song is better than another, but I may have more to say about one than the other. Read it if you like, if you don’t, that’s fine too.
1: Orchestral Intro- Beautiful, feels like a pink sunrise over an enormous ocean.
2: Welcome to the World of The Plastic Beach: Chill, synesthesia inducing cadence. Feels like Snoop is gonna tell you a cool story.
3: White Flag: Starts off like you’re on a sailboat in a crystal blue sea, but then you and your friends find a cool, isolated island full of trash and you interact somewhat peacefully with the natives. It’s a new discovery for you.
4: Rhinestone Eyes: Tickles the brain just right, despite invoking imagery of a beach being invaded by the military and nature being poisoned by forces way out of your control. Definitely a song about bad news but it feels so good.
5. Stylo: Feels like a long drive down a neon-lit highway in a constantly chugging city. Bright and colorful but kind of grimy.
6: Superfast Jellyfish: Feels like when you walk into a convenience store or fast food joint at like 9 am and you’re starving, you can smell the cheap food cooking and you want it all. You know it’s bad for you and the environment but you’re hungry goddammit.
7: Empire Ants: It’s weird to explain how this one makes me feel. I used to work a long way away from home and would have to leave early in the morning when it was dark and cold. I’d be cold and unhappy, but eventually I’d fall into this sort of zen when my car would warm up and it’d just be me and some other headlights and a thermos of something warm to drink. That’s what this song feels like.
8: Glitter Freeze: Feels like a digital blizzard you’re running through. Pretty and all, but you gotta keep moving.
9: Some Kind of Nature: Groovy and relaxed, but sort of sad. Kind of like an old guy with depression talking about the sorry state of the world, but he has a really good sense of humor.
10: On Melancholy Hill: A bittersweet and completely genuine love song. Two people that are on and off in love with each other and don’t have the best lives, but stick together anyway. Beautiful.
11: Broken: Feels like you’re out at a beach at night and looking up at the stars and city skyline, and you feel bad, but the sort of introspective kind of bad where you realize everything is messed up but it’s messed up for everyone, not just you.
12: Sweepstakes: You’re in a city and everything is constantly moving and loud. Sort of like Wall Street where everyone is trying to hit it big and is dressed nice and walking fast and you feel out of place.
13: Plastic Beach- Sort of the thesis statement of the album. It’s a beach that’s incredibly polluted, but oddly clean. You feel safe swimming in the water and laying in the sand even if you know there’s trash all over the place, just out of sight.
14: To Binge: You just got really bad or disturbing news, but you have a day at the beach planned. So you go to the beach and you enjoy yourself but every now and then you get a reminder that something awful happened.
15: Cloud of Unknowing: Feels like smoking by yourself on a balcony, or like a clear sky after the world ends. Something happened that has you depressed. So you need a long time to think about it and cry. Things could get better or they could stay bad.
16: Pirate Jet: The world is out of control, there’s new information being chucked in your face every day, and you’re one person. So you live the life you got knowing things aren’t working right, but you need to live too, so you just enjoy what you have. Things are okay. For you, at least.

5 cool places to visit in Virginia
https://lifesporttravel.com/?p=1359 5 cool places to visit in Virginia - https://lifesporttravel.com/?p=1359 Cool Places to Visit in Virginia If you are thinking of making a trip to the United States, there are a number of cool places to visit in Virginia. The state is located in the southeastern part of the country, and is home to the Atlantic coastline, as well as the Appalachian Mountains. Colonial Williamsburg Colonial Williamsburg is the place to be if you are interested in learning more about the early history of the United States. In addition to the history of the area, there are plenty of interactive activities for kids. Among the most interesting aspects of the colonial town is the fact that many of the buildings are on original foundations. Some are even marked by colonial flags. You can also see a replica of the Governor’s Palace, which was home to the first two elected governors of Virginia. The palace also boasted an 11-bin wine cellar and a natural park. Other points of interest include the official Episcopal church and the College of William and Mary, which is the second oldest college building in the U.S. Founded in 1715, it had students of all levels. If you’re looking for a bit more of a hands-on experience, head over to the Governor’s Palace for a cooking demonstration. You may also want to stop by the Ripley’s Believe It or Not, a strange-but-true museum that features a shrunken head, a real two-headed cow, and a 4-D movie. Another thing to do in Colonial Williamsburg is take a stroll through the historic gardens. They’ll tell you about the crops that were grown in the early years of the settlement. And don’t forget to pick up a free map at the Visitors Center. Manassas National Battlefield Park If you’re an avid history buff, you’ll want to visit Manassas National Battlefield Park. It is located in the Prince William County, Virginia region and preserves the sites of two major Civil War battles. You’ll be able to enjoy a variety of activities at this historical site. The park’s visitor center is full of artifacts and displays from the battles. In addition to the museum, you can take a self-guided tour of the battlefield. At the Visitor Center, you can see an exhibit about the Second and First Battles of Manassas. There is also a 45-minute film that you can watch. There are also many trails in the park. You can visit the Stone House, which served as a Union field hospital during both battles. After the Visitor Center, you can head out on the First Manassas Loop Trail. This trail runs along the Henry Hill loop and continues into the woods. Another trail to explore is the Stone Bridge Loop Trail. This trail combines a wooded area next to Bull Run with a stretch of boardwalk. For additional information, you can check out the website of the Manassas Battlefield Park. They also offer daily interpretive programs. Guided tours of the battlefield are offered in the summer. No advance reservations are needed. To learn more about the Civil War, visit the Henry Hill Visitor Center, which features a bookstore and an information desk. Chincoteague Chincoteague is a beautiful island in Virginia that is a great place to visit. The town has an idyllic atmosphere and has many things to see and do. While you’re in Chincoteague, you can’t miss the annual Pony Swim. This event draws thousands of people in late July. In addition to the ponies, there are a number of other fun activities to do in Chincoteague, VA. The Museum of Chincoteague Island features exhibits about the history of the island. Among them is a first-order Fresnel lens from the Assateague Lighthouse. There are also many parks to check out. One of them is Veteran’s Memorial Park, which has a pier and a view of the water. You can enjoy a picnic, swim in the sea, or walk along the water trail. Another great thing to do in Chincoteague is to check out the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. This is a 14,000-acre National Wildlife Refuge located in Accomack County. It’s a great place to go for fishing and bird watching. Other places to check out include the Museum of Chincoteague Island, the Chincoteague Center, and the Herbert Bateman Educational & Administrative Center. The Center offers unique programs, while the Library has a variety of book clubs. The Museum of Chincoteague features a wide range of art and historical artifacts. Some of the displays include fossils, shipwreck items, and famous Chincoteague ponies. Frontier Culture Museum The Frontier Culture Museum is a museum in Staunton, Virginia. Located on about 200 acres of land, it is one of the largest open-air living history museums in the Shenandoah Valley. In addition to traditional rural buildings from around the world, the museum has eleven historic exhibits representing different time periods in American history. There are also four illustrative working farms from the 1800s. These farmsteads represent different cultures, such as an Irish farmhouse, a West African village, and an American Indian wigwam. It’s not hard to see why the Frontier Culture Museum is a family favorite. Not only does the museum offer fun events, like the “Curious Farm” and the 1820’s American Farm, but it also provides an interesting perspective on the history of the United States. Visitors can choose to tour the museum on their own or with a guide. Both options take approximately 1.5 miles. Designed by architect Carlton Abbott, the visitors’ center features three frame gable-roofed buildings grouped around a courtyard. Other displays at the Frontier Culture Museum include a 17th century Irish Forge, an 18th century German Farm, and a West African village. Each one of these demonstrates how the settlers of America were able to combine their native culture with their European and Native American backgrounds to create a new culture. The museum also has an American Indian village, a schoolhouse from the 1800s, and a 17th century Ganatastwi Native American wigwam. Those interested in learning more about the origins of the United States can visit the museum any time of the year. Luray Caverns Luray Caverns is the largest caverns in the eastern United States, and one of the top places to visit in Virginia. This cave in the Shenandoah Valley is home to an underground lake, crystal-clear waters, a Great Stalacpipe Organ, and more. In addition, there are several other attractions on site, including a garden maze and a rope adventure course. The Luray Valley Museum is a historical museum that features pre-contact Native American artifacts and items from the mid-19th century. There are also exhibits devoted to cars, stagecoaches, buggies, and more. Visitors can take a self-guided tour of Luray Caverns, or choose to join a guided tour. You’ll find that the tours last about 45-60 minutes. It’s possible to buy tickets at the gift shop, which offers a variety of options. If you do decide to buy tickets, you’ll be able to purchase a ticket that includes admission to the Luray Valley Museum and Toy Town Junction. Other activities at Luray Caverns include gemstone mining, a Rope Adventures Course, a Garden Maze, and a Ropes Course. You can also explore the historic Car & Carriage Caravan Museum, which has over 150 vintage vehicles from the past 150 years. Another attraction at Luray Caverns is the Luray Singing Tower, which is a 47-bell carillon. This instrument originated in Belgium in the early 1600s. When it plays, it sounds like a symphony. Shenandoah National Park Shenandoah National Park is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. This park is home to abundant wildlife, such as black bears, white-tailed deer, and many different kinds of songbirds. The park features hundreds of miles of hiking trails and campgrounds. There are also a number of great things to do in the park. One of the most popular attractions in the park is Skyline Drive, which runs along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It has over 75 scenic overlooks, making it an ideal place to take in the beauty of the area. Another cool thing to do in the park is to hike on the Appalachian Trail. This trail runs through the park and has three rock scrambles. Hikers can enjoy panoramic views of the peaks. Shenandoah is also home to a number of waterfalls. Most falls occur on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. These falls are generally easier to see in the fall. If you’re looking for something more active, consider white water rafting. There are several areas in the park that are suitable for rafting. Depending on the water levels, you can choose from a variety of difficulty levels. You can also check out the park’s visitor centers to find out more information about hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities. If you’re interested in learning more about the history of the park, stop by the Byrd Visitor Center. Here, you’ll find exhibits about the park’s history as well as about the park rangers. Emotionally Intoxicated
Summary: Your husband was the image of a perfect working man and father, what would happen when you discover he is not what you expected?
Parings: The Salesman x F!Reader
Word Count: 4.1k
Warnings: Manipulation and lying. A short smut scene, oral (f receiving), fingering and missionary. ALSO I did keep one of the character that died alive. So yeah.
A/N: I know the smut scene is kinda out of place, but Gong Yoo makes me feel some type of wayyyy. Also I use the salesman actor name because I don't recall them giving him a name...ANYWAYS enjoy!
“Hey baby, how was work?” You asked your husband as you continued to chop the vegetables. He approached the kitchen island and gave you a kiss on the cheek then turned to look at what was boiling on the stove. “Work was alright. Boring as usual” he never gave many details of what he actually would do during his work. You knew he was a salesman, but what he was trying to sell to people was a mystery to you. Your friends tried to point out how much of a red flag that was, but stupidly you ignored him. Your love and attachment towards him blinded you from accepting the issues with his secrecy.
“What are you cooking?’ He asked, as he began to sir the boiling pot himself. “Smells good, as always.” He turned to smile towards you. You were going to respond but then you remembered something. “Oh, right. Um, two guys came at the door this morning asking for you. One had red hair, the other said he was a businessman. Their names slipped my tongue, but they told me to let you know that they want to speak with you.” You stopped cutting the vegetables to grab another frying pan from the cabinets. Your back was facing him, so you couldn’t see how his expression dropped at your words. His work never interfered with his personal life, ever. He always made sure of it. Not even his boss knows about you or the kids. “They came here?” his voice almost came out in disbelief; how did they even know where you guys lived? “Yeah, even left a fruit basket for the kids. I put it on the table.” You said, finally standing up and heading to grab the oil to add to the frying pan. Gong Yoo headed to the dining room and grabbed the fruit basket aggressively off the dining table. There was a small card, no bigger than a business card with a number on it. He took the card but grabbed the fruits and dumped them into the trash.
“Gong-Yoo what..why? That was for the kids, Iseul was excited to eat it!” You were a little shocked by his behaviour. Fruits are expensive in South Korea, in contrast to your homeland. Not only that but he wasted perfectly good fresh food. And Iseul your oldest child had been begging you non-stop if she could have a bit for dessert.
“I can buy my wife and children their own fruit baskets. I don’t need some guy doing my job.” Legitimately he didn’t care about the fruit basket, he never got seriously jealous because he knew you’d never even think about another man. He just couldn’t say ‘hey honey, two guys who survived from my bosses battle royal came back for revenge so I’m not sure whether or not the fruits are poisoned or something.’ Letting you know too much would put you in danger. So going the jealousy route was best bet for him.
“Oh, come on babe. It was just a kind jester.” You stated as you began seasoning the vegetables. Gong Yoo left out an overexaggerated sigh, “Well I’m going to go check on the kids” giving your ass a swat on his way out.
“Aera is napping don’t disturb her peace.” You groaned in annoyance. You were instantly reminded by the fact that you had to basically battle that 5-month-old to go to sleep somewhere that wasn’t your body.
He creeped up the stairs, looking for the four-year-old and three-year-old. He missed them dearly considering it’s round up season (in which he needs to round up players for the games to begin) he hasn’t seen them as much, as he liked too. “Iseul, Minguk, Appa is home.” He toned down his voice not to awaken the sleeping demon. But it was a mistake because the two toddlers came down running his direction with burst of happiness. Charging towards his direction to give their father a hug. “Oh, I’ve missed you guys so much.” He said while his children suffocated him with their affection. Minguk gave his father a kiss on the cheek, meanwhile Iseul ran back into her bedroom.
“Have you been treating your mother well?” He asked playfully. Minguk was the least troublesome of the three, but he had attachment issues like no other, so he was consistently around you. Unless his older sister wanted to play.
Before Minguk could answer his sister came running back “Appa! Appa! Look! Look!” She handed over him her new toy.
“WHAT THE FUCK!” Gong Yoo didn’t mean to yell, but it slipped out. It was a gun, but one that looked awfully like the one that Gi-Hun had pointed at him when they first came in contact. Minguk covered his ears at his fathers cursing, and Iseul looked at him with shame and disappointment. “No bad words!” She scolded him, and her brother nodded furiously in agreement. “I’m telling Eomma.” She began to walk off angrily but Gong Yoo grabbed her tiny body in one swift movement. “Hey monkey, where did you get this?”
“A friend.” She said so simply.
“Which friend?” He asked
“Ummm.” She thought about it for a moment. “From the park. Appa after dinner can we-can we play” He knew he wasn’t going to get any direct answers from a four-year-old. So he’d have to figure shit out himself. “Yeah, we can, just don’t tell Eomma.” He pinched her nose which made her giggle.
“Dinner is ready.” Your soft voice caught him off guard, he didn’t even realize you had come up the stairs. “Yay.” Minguk said before he started running. “MinMin baby, stop running. You’ll hurt yourself.” You turned to look at Iseul, then you saw it. “Why is there a gun?” you went to pick up what you assumed was a toy gun. “Jesus Gong Yoo, you always give the kids the weirdest gifts.” You opened your bedroom door and tossed, the gun into it, then closed the door behind yourself and started walking downstairs with Minguk.
The dinner was oddly talkative yet quiet. The kids babbled about literally anything, normally both you and your husband would be fully engaged in their conversations to help their development, but suspiciously he was pretty quiet. There was a lot of “mmhmm..nice..wow..cool.” rather than actual dialog, while it might have not been clear to the kids. It was clear to you, that he was not paying attention. Eventually the two oldest finished up and you suggested them to go out and play in the backyard. The two of you grabbed your own plates and went to go and sit on the patio table and eat outside while watching the kids play.
“You okay?” You asked, placing a hand on his thigh allowing your thumb to circle his thigh
“Yeah, just drained from work. Um how’s it going with you and your friends.” He quickly changed the subject before you could ask any further.
“Not good. Cho Hee’s husband, you know him, right? Well, he came to us today while we were at the park with the kids. Saying his wife went missing, apparently, she went to play a game or something. I don’t know the whole story is weird.” You felt uncomfortable with the idea that your friend was missing, you wanted to help but Cho Hee’s husband’s story made no sense.
“Oh, I mean it’s unfortunate his wife is missing. But you know Kyong is an unreliable narrator.” He lied. It’s only been maybe an hour or so but the two worlds he specifically never wanted to collide. Were essentially smashing together all at once.
“What do you mean?” You asked.
“Well..you know…He’s a heavy drug user. His mind is all over the place.” Now Kyong did do drugs, but all he did was smoke some marijuana in his free time. Your husband made it sound like he was an avid crack user.
You looked at him in shock. “Holy shi- wait is this true? He seemed completely normal to me; how did you know?” You were now concerned because his erratic behaviour would make a lot more sense. Asides from his wife being missing, allegedly.
“Functioning addicts seem normal, but it doesn’t take much to crack them. I’m sure his wife is fine, or probably tried to escape him who knows.” He took a swing of his soju bottle and glanced over at you to see your reaction. He was taken back a bit by your worrisome reaction. It was his turn to comfort you, he placed a hand on your shoulder. “Hey, I’m sure everything is going to be okay.”
“I really hope so.”
***
Your kids currently were with your mother-in-law. Today was your day alone, and you usually did it to go on your runs, workout, and complete your hobbies.
You went out on your morning jog, going around the neighbourhood as you normally did. You went around and did over 5 laps, it was on your 6th lap that when you felt an arm pull you towards the forest near your neighbourhood. You began to kick and scream, begging for someone to help you. Your attacker covered your mouth and pleaded with you to stay quiet. He sounded so empathetic, and incredibly guilty. “Please, please just listen to me.” You continued to attempt to break yourself free from your grip. “I won’t hurt you; I just need to talk.” Hearing his voice again made you recognize it instantly. He was the businessman who came to your door. You stopped fighting not because you believed him. But rather you wanted to catch him off guard. When you stopped screaming and your breathing paced back to normal, he let go of you and you waited 30 seconds before kicking him in the balls and started sprinting. You made it far enough, but surely, before you were able to get out of the forest, he made it in time to drag you back in.
“Please Ma’am we just need to talk, that’s all I want to do. I don’t have much time currently. I swear on my life I won’t hurt you.” His grip being tight around you, was making it hard to believe he didn’t mean any harm. Considering you probably got bruises just from the altercation 30 seconds earlier. He didn’t wait for you to respond. “Your husband, he can’t be trusted.”
“And I’m supposed to trust the man who is strangling me? You’re insane.”
“I have evidence, it’s not much. But it’s enough to show you at the very least he’s not trustworthy.” He huffed out the last part.
“Let me guess, you are one of his associates he may or may not have screwed over financially and now you’re coming for revenge. Whatever money you loss, I’ll pay it back. Just please let this go, let me go.” You were growing tired of battling and attempting to escape his grip.
“No amount of money can fix the amount of blood loosed on his hands. While he might not be the direct cause, he’s still complicit. Hundreds of people are dying every year because of him and his people. You are the one closest to him, help me stop them.” He was pleading with you, and you could tell that he was believing his own words. You were baffled by the sheer stupidity coming out of his mouth.
“You are fucking sick in the head. You know that? You’re saying that my husband is indirectly the cause of hundreds of people’s death annually. T-That’s not fucking possible.” Your denial was in full force, and understandably so.
The businessman pulled out a thumb drive and handed it over to you. “My name is Cho Sang-Woo, if you wish to stop this, contact the number on the drive.” He let go of you and he began walking too wherever.
You immediately got up and started sprinting to your house. You turned your head every few seconds to make sure he wasn’t following you back to your house. You immediately got inside and turned on all the alarm systems. And made sure all the doors were locked, and curtains pulled shut. You ran up to your room with a baseball bat and sat on your bed. You grabbed out your phone and dialed out your husband’s phone number. You knew he was at work, so you tried to not disturb him while he worked, but you desperately needed him.
He didn’t pick up on the first call, so you sent a text to your mother-in-law asking if it would be possible to let your kids stay over for the weekend. After you sent the text message, you immediately got a call back.
Before he could speak you immediately started to talk. “Baby I need you to come back home, like right away. Some asshole tried to grab me when I went on a jog and…and then he- shit.” You couldn’t even speak coherently because the whole situation felt unreal. How do you even tell him what Sang-Woo is accusing him of the murder of an insane amount people. Even if the story felt like bullshit to you, you couldn’t even comprehend how you’d explain it to him.
“He did what? What the fuck did he do to you.” His voice was harsh, but it filled with concern.
“He-…Are you in a train station?” The noise of a passing train took you by surprise. It made no sense for him to be in a train station at this time of day.
“Sweetheart, answer my question, what happened?” He asked again, but this time more calmer.
“He dragged me into the forest near our home. Saying things like I can’t trust you, and that y-you’re complicit in the murders of hundreds of people annually. Just some crazy shit.” Your voice was all over the place, trying to recount what happened.
You heard him curse, then his end went quiet for a minute. “A-and then he just let you go, after spewing lies?” You looked over to the thumb drive, and then closed your eyes for 3 seconds. “Y-yeah. He wanted me to know the ‘truth’ about you.” Something inside of you was telling you not to mention the thumb drive. Your inner thoughts were screaming at you not to say it.
“I’m coming home, I’m an hour or so away. Don’t answer the door for nobody, understood.”
“Yes.”
“Love you baby.” He breathed out hopelessly.
“More than anything.” You responded.
When the phone line went dark. You immediately went to go and grab your MacBook and plugged in the thumb drive. A few files, filed with pictures of your husband, his alleged boss, and a bunch of people who went missing, torturous games. The one photo that stood was your husband slapping a woman, in the next photo it was clearer who the woman was, Cho Hee. She was wearing the same outfit on the last day she was scene. Another photo was Cho Hee dead, captioned on the bottom “Cause of death: Tug of war.” You couldn’t continue looking through the photos, it was far too scary for you to handle. Your denial was kicking in again, and you absolutely refused to believe the man you married, the father of your children, was capable of working for someone like that.
***
When Gong Yoo came home he was feeling incredibly anxious, he normally knew how to handle situations, he always found a way. But now he had no clue how he was going to handle this, he needed to distract you one way or another.
He opened the door and disarmed the alarm. He closed the door slowly not wanting to bring himself to acknowledge his presence in the house. The house was dark with all the curtains shut, and the lights off. He turned on the lights and announced his presences to you. “Baby I’m home.” His voice came without confidence.
You walk down the stairs incredibly slowly, not intentionally, but the previous mental breakdown you had was enough for you to walk down the stairs slightly menacingly.
“Oh look, the pathological liar is home.” You said so expressionlessly. “Wonder what he’s going to lie about next?” By the time you were able to arrive to the bottom of the stairs you could see his hopeless facial expression. “Baby it’s-“
“What? It’s not what I think? Were you really going to pull that lame ass excuse? Seriously? The audacity that you must seriously think I’m going to believe that, not when I have proof.” Even though you appeared to be mad, you were mostly hurt. You couldn’t believe that you were being lied too.
“Proof can be doctored.” He began to walk closer to you, expecting for you to back away from him but you didn’t because the unfortunate pathetic thing about you, you were willing to forgive him. You did not want to believe that your husband was working for the devil himself, a man who would put poor people through hell and back for his own sick entertainment, have hundreds of people die. For his own satisfaction, you couldn’t bear to imagine your husband being okay with any of that.
Ignoring his statement you continued, “You knew about Cho, you saw her before she diapered. You made out her husband to be fucking crazy, tainted another man image you save your own…why Gong Yoo..why the fuck would you do that.” He was quiet for a bit, so you pulled out your phone you’d transfer some of the pictures to your phone and showed him the picture of him and Cho.
“S-So a picture of her and I at the train station is evidence of me having anything to do with her disappearance?” He figured that if he could drag out the situation and over state the obvious, it might make you rethink your intelligence, which he hated doing. However, he could not let you find out the truth, the separation between both worlds were necessary for the protection of his family.
‘You have a car, why would you be at a train station? And in another picture, you were slapping her. Shit doesn’t add up.” You responded back aggressively.
“My car can’t get me everywhere on time, I drive it to the train station, but it’s quicker and more time efficient to leave in parked in the parking lot and go catch a train. And I slapped her because she was talking shit about you, I didn’t tell you that because I know how much that so called friendship means to you. You had a hard time adjusting to living here, and you finally seemed happy.” He was weaving truths with lies. Of course, he didn’t slap Cho Hee because she was talking shit, it was because she kept losing to the game. However, he did over here Cho Hee spoke tremendously terribly about you on several different occasions, to him she was a jealous fake bitch. It’s why he had absolutely no problem recruiting her to the game.
“If you knew she was fake, why not fucking tell me?” You knew realistically you shouldn’t be believing his words, but love was blinding you, as it normally did. “And you’re always so mysterious about your job…baby I don’t know what to believe.” You plopped yourself onto a step putting your hands in your face. Gong Yoo immediately took the opportunity to go and sit beside you and place his arms around you pulling you into his chest “I know that this situation is fucked up, but I need you baby, I need you to just trust me. Okay? I love you so much, and we are a team, and as a team we need to trust each other, okay?’ His charisma was working in full effect, and you fell for his words. Before he could finish his sentence, you planted a kiss on his lips. You just wanted to block out the world and all the bullshit going on, whether he is lying, or telling the truth. You just wanted to feel this moment, you wanted to feel like you did when you first met him, when things were simpler. And while you could never go back to a time like that, you could pretend, just for a moment.
He accepted the kiss and began to slowly make out with you. Instead of the rough passion that you were normally accustomed too, instead there was a sense of sadness and grief. An acknowledgment that the relationship will never return to what it once was. Your hand began to travel downwards, and he knew exactly what it meant. “Upstairs” he mumbled.
When the two of you arrive upstairs, you drop yourself on the bed and he climbed on top of the bed. Lifting your shirt off Gong Yoo waisted no time removing his own, then unbuckling his pants. You removed your own pants, and immediately he slipped his fingers into your pussy.
He watched as you accepted each wave of pleasure as he thrusted his fingers at a sensual pace, you small moans escaping your mouth gave him a sense of peace. He twirled his fingers causing your wetness to spill out as he fingered you. He brought his mouth onto your clit and began to lick it slowly, occasionally allowing himself to suck on your clit. ‘You taste just as sweet as you always do.” He complimented.
You were suffocating by the waves of pleasure hitting you, making it hard to focus on proper breathing. “Gong Yoo I need your dick, please.” You couldn’t even keep your eyes open to look down at him.
He gives your ass a light slap, and you became aware of your mistake. “Oppa, please. I fucking need you inside of me.” You begged. He brought his fingers out of you and pulled his harden dick out of his boxers. He slicks his finger with your wetness and placed it on his dick. Jerking himself off lightly to prep himself. Once he was ready, as much as you were. He slides his dick inside your dripping cunt. The warmth sent shivers down his spine as he adjusted to the new sensation. You guys fucked a million times over, but each time felt like the first time, and it was always amazing whether you were going quickly, or slowly.
His thrust was passionate, and he brought himself closer to you, he’d suck on the skin of your neck as you moan out mercifully. You could feel the power within each thrust as he was hitting your sweet spot, he’d transition from your neck to your mouth, and before you were about to cum you separated the kiss, “I fucking love you so much.”
Mumbled his love back to you before he felt himself spill all inside of you, he kept thrusting. Making sure that you’d still cum even after himself, and so you did. You clenched onto his body as you threw your head back.
Eventually the two of you came crashing down onto the bed. You went under the sheets as you cuddled yourself into him. Aftercare with him always felt so relaxing. He kissed your forehead and kept his arms around you. Eventually you feel asleep, and he got out of his bed.
He tried to slowly exist the bed without waking your presence, but it seems the movement of the bed disturbed you enough to give him a grumble “where are you going?” he told you he needed to go to the washroom, and it was enough for you to go back to sleep. He did walk to the washroom; however, he wasn’t going to use it.
He went into the washroom with the water bottle from the nightstand. Pouring the water in the toilet to give the illusion he went to pee. He then turned on the sink and let the water run. He pulled out his phone dialing the number that he was forbidden to call, only in the series of a legitimate issue, an issue that could threaten the game.
The phone ringing scared him a bit, he was on edge so he thought you might overhear. When the caller finally answered Gong Yoo Knew he only had to say a few words to get the message a crossed.
“Code 907. We are dealing with a strategic takedown. It needs to be dealt with immediately.” Gong Yoo stated simply.
“Understood. Who are we dealing with, and how are we handling it?”
“Seong Gi-Hun, and Cho Sang-Woo along with any accomplice of theirs. Make no exception we are currently under attack. Everything is jeopardized.”
“How are we handling it.” The person on the other side aside of the phone call ask again.
“As we normally do, death.”
