𝑶𝒄𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆
Pairing: Mapi Leon x Ingrid x reader
Words: 1500+
Warnings: vague body image issues.
Summary: You take a trip to the beach with your girlfriends.
The beach trip was supposed to be fun, a spontaneous idea that Mapi had brought up the night before, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She and Ingrid had finished a particularly grueling training session that day, and the idea of lounging by the ocean, sun warming their skin, and waves crashing against the shore had sounded like the perfect remedy for sore muscles and tired minds. They'd both looked at you with hopeful eyes, and you'd agreed, swept up by their enthusiasm.
The morning of, however, the reality of it hit you.
Standing in front of the mirror in the small changing room near the beach, you tugged nervously at your bikini, eyeing the reflection that stared back. The swimsuit fit fine; it was actually really flattering. But that wasn't the issue. The issue was that it left you feeling exposed, vulnerable in a way that even intimacy with Ingrid and Mapi hadn't made you feel. Despite being with them for nearly six months, despite the countless nights you'd spent tangled together in bed, their bodies pressed against yours, this felt... different.
There was a safety in the dim lighting of your bedroom, the privacy of closed doors. Here, though, out in the open, with the sunlight harsh and unforgiving, every insecurity you'd ever had seemed to bubble up to the surface. Your eyes trailed over your body, taking in every curve and line. You weren't big, not by any stretch of the imagination. But standing here, knowing you'd soon be beside Ingrid and Mapi — two professional athletes with lean, toned bodies honed from years of training — you couldn't help but feel... inadequate.
Ingrid, with her tall frame and thick, dark hair cascading down her back, was effortlessly graceful and strong. Her Norwegian features were softened by her warm smile, the one she gave you that made you feel like the most special person in the world. She was lean but muscular in a way that was understated yet powerful. And Mapi... Mapi was pure energy, her body compact and defined. Her natural brown hair mixed with blonde from the last time she'd bleached it, and her easy, playful confidence made her feel untouchable in your eyes.
They were waiting for you outside, both probably already sprawled out on the sand, soaking up the sun. You wrapped a towel around yourself tightly, feeling like you needed a barrier between yourself and the world. It wasn't just the swimsuit. The beach itself was unnerving. The vastness of the ocean, with its dark depths and unknown creatures lurking beneath, had always terrified you. You couldn't swim, and the thought of going into that endless water made your stomach twist with anxiety.
Taking a deep breath, you stepped out of the changing room, hoping that neither of them would notice the way you clung to the towel. The sun was bright, casting a warm glow over the beach, and the sound of waves crashing was both calming and intimidating. You spotted them immediately. Ingrid was lying on a beach towel, her sunglasses perched on her nose, looking effortlessly serene. Mapi, on the other hand, was already in the water up to her knees, waving at you excitedly.
"¡Amor!" she called, grinning widely, her English slightly stilted but endearing. "Come in! It's perfect!"
You forced a smile, lifting a hand in a half-hearted wave. Ingrid looked over, sensing your hesitation even from a distance. She raised her sunglasses, her warm eyes narrowing in concern as she took in your expression and the towel wrapped around you like armor.
As you reached their spot on the sand, Ingrid sat up, patting the space beside her. "Hey, love," she said gently, her Norwegian accent wrapping around the words. "Are you okay?"
Mapi, catching on to Ingrid's tone, made her way out of the water and jogged over, sand sticking to her legs as she approached. She tilted her head, eyeing you with that same concern, her brows furrowed slightly.
"I'm fine," you said, trying to brush it off. "Just... not really a beach person, I guess."
Mapi chuckled, oblivious to the undertone of your words. "Not a beach person?" she teased, nudging you lightly. "Who doesn't like the beach?" She reached for your towel playfully, her fingers grasping the edge. "Come on, let me see you."
You instinctively tightened your grip on the towel, pulling it closer. "I... I'm fine like this," you mumbled, looking away, hoping they wouldn't notice the heat rising to your cheeks.
Ingrid's hand found yours, her touch grounding you as her thumb brushed softly over your knuckles. "You know," she began softly, her voice low and soothing, "you don't have to hide from us."
Mapi's playful demeanor softened, and she exchanged a quick look with Ingrid, understanding passing between them in a way that needed no words. She crouched down beside you, her gaze warm and steady. "We've seen all of you before, hermosa. We love all of you."
You bit your lip, looking down at the sand. "I know, it's just... out here, it feels different. I don't know." You hesitated, glancing up at the ocean in the distance. "And... I can't swim, so I don't really want to go in the water."
Mapi's eyes softened, and she placed a reassuring hand on your shoulder. "Why didn't you say so, amor? We wouldn't have dragged you here if we knew."
Ingrid squeezed your hand gently. "We'll stay right here on the sand if that's what you want," she said, her gaze earnest. "We don't need the water to enjoy being with you.”
Something in her words loosened the tightness in your chest. You took a deep breath, glancing between the two of them, the warmth in their eyes melting away some of your insecurities.
"Maybe... maybe I'll try sitting on the edge," you said, your voice barely a whisper.
Ingrid's face lit up with a soft, encouraging smile. "Whatever you want, love. We'll be right there with you."
They each took one of your hands, guiding you toward the shoreline at a leisurely pace. The sound of the waves grew louder, and the salty breeze brushed against your skin as you neared the water. When you reached the edge, Ingrid and Mapi sat down beside you, their hands still holding yours.
Ingrid looked at you, her eyes gentle. "If you're uncomfortable, just let us know. We're here for you."
You nodded, feeling a bit braver with their hands anchoring you. You let your feet stretch out toward the water, watching as the waves gently lapped at your toes. It was... surprisingly soothing, and you found yourself relaxing a little.
Mapi, never one to stay quiet for long, leaned over with a playful grin. "See? Not so scary, right?" she teased, though her tone was gentle, supportive rather than mocking.
You rolled your eyes but couldn't help the small smile that tugged at your lips. "Maybe not as scary as I thought," you admitted.
They both smiled, and you felt yourself easing into the moment, letting go of the tension you'd been holding onto since you'd arrived at the beach. You glanced over at them, their bodies relaxed and carefree, and for the first time, you didn't feel the urge to compare. They were beautiful, yes, but they were also so much more — supportive, patient, understanding.
After a few moments, Mapi gave your hand a light squeeze. "Let's take it slow," she said, her gaze kind but teasing. "I'll hold onto you if you get scared."
You laughed, the sound surprising you. "I think I'll be okay."
Ingrid smiled, her thumb tracing soothing patterns on your hand. "We'll take it one step at a time. And remember, you don't have to prove anything to us. We love you just as you are."
The words settled into your heart, and for the first time, you felt yourself believing them. You let the towel slip from your shoulders, feeling the sun's warmth on your skin, and both of them grinned as if they'd just witnessed a small victory.
For the rest of the day, you stayed close to the shore, letting the gentle waves brush over your feet as you laughed and talked with them. They never left your side, always checking in, always making sure you felt safe and comfortable. You even let Mapi coax you a little further into the water, her hands on your waist as she steadied you, her grin infectious as she cheered you on.
By the time the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, you felt lighter, the insecurities that had weighed you down at the beginning of the day now distant memories.
As you all sat together, watching the sunset, Mapi leaned over, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek. "I told you, didn't I?" she murmured, her voice a gentle tease. "Nothing to be scared of."
Ingrid wrapped an arm around you, pulling you close as she pressed a kiss to your temple. "You're perfect just like this," she whispered, her accent thick with affection.
And in that moment, wrapped in their warmth and love, you believed them. You didn't need to be anything more than who you were, because to them, you were already enough.

Fic Request for @ckxep "Charles and Edwin being dumb teenage boys"
They're having a little holiday weekend!
It was the first month of Autumn and things had finally slowed down at the office. They had had a busy few weeks and they had all decided that they were long due a break.
Initially, they had struggled to come to an agreement on where to go, but then the classic British September heat wave had hit and Niko had eagerly suggested that they all go to the beach.
Charles was immediately eager, it having been a long time since they had gone to one outside of a casework. He was practically already in his swim shorts and flip flops before she had even finished her sentence.
Edwin hadn't really been to the beach much while he was alive. There had been a lake on his family's estate, and there was the one Summer when he was twelve, when he had been sent to the seaside "for his health" (though he hadn't actually been allowed on the beach or in the water, and his aunt Beatrice had kept trying to feed him nettle soup).
All that to say that they had leapt at the idea.
They had debated for a while about where to go, but in the end they had settled on a two day trip to Cornwall. They had taken the train into a seaside town called Hayle from London Paddington, and Crystal had rented a chalet at a small holiday resort that had it's own private beach.
Once they arrived, they quickly realised that they would have to wait for the following day for the beach.
It was raining. A lot.
So, Charles pulled a couple of umbrellas out and they headed over to the supermarket to stock up on snacks before checking in to the chalet.
The place was pretty spacious inside, with a small kitchenette, a compact lounge with a coffee table, an open area and then two bedrooms and a small bathroom.
They set up in the small sitting area and broke out the snacks, had an afternoon of board games that Charles had brought along. Half way into it, they had started a game of Charles and Edwin throwing popcorn and gummy sweets, and Niko and Crystal trying to catch them in their mouths.
At one point, they had also made a game of seeing how many marshmallows they could fit in their mouths (Edwin had cheated by letting them phase partially through him and they embrassingly hadn't noticed until he got to ninety-seven).
The next day, they had all gotten into their beachwear and headed down to the seafront. It was a picturesque little area and due to the time of year, most of the others there were middle-aged or elderly couples (likely there in September because all of the families with children had gone back home with the end of the Summer holidays).
Crystal set up their wind shield and parasol while Niko laid out the beach towels and found rocks to weigh down the corners.
Charles put his backpack down and opened it up before pulling out two decently large shovels, both with wooden poles and brightly coloured plastic handles.
He gave Edwin a look, grinning and raising his eyebrows.
"Shovels?" Edwin looked at Charles curiously as he took the blue shovel in his hands.
"Shovels!" Charles echoed, waving his own, bright red shovel excitedly.
He brought Edwin over to a patch of sand that was a little bit damp at the top. The tide was on its way out, so they wouldn't have to worry about having to move across the beach.
"What are we doing with these?" Edwin asked, already having an idea, but still being unsure.
"Digging a hole!" Charles exclaimed.
"A hole..."
"A really big hole!" Charles made the first move to bury his shovel in the sand and toss the contents to the side. "Come on!"
Edwin hesitated for a moment, but when Charles carried on, he decided to join in. If nothing else, he was curious about the appeal.
One hour and twenty minutes later and the appeal had become more than apparent.
Edwin and Charles had managed to dig down deep enough that their heads were barely visible over the brim of the hole and it had become wide enough for at least three people to fit in there (granted, uncomfortably, but still).
"Well, I must admit that this is a strangely rewarding endeavour." Edwin said, digging his shovel into the lump of sand at his side.
"Mate! It's digging a massive hole, it's brills! It's like human nature, innit?" Charles beamed.
It felt good to do something so pointless and fun, just for the sake of it, without having any additional purpose or end goal. Just dig a hole. A really big hole. And then hope you don't accidentally make it too deep to climb out without help.
When they were done with the hole, they rejoined Crystal and Niko by the parasol and dragged them over to see the hole.
"Holy shit!" Crystal laughed. "It's like six feet deep!"
"You guys! That's crazy!" Niko hesitantly leaned over the side to peer in. "it's like the mountain of sand you dug out just makes it look even deeper."
"You basically dug a pond."
"Pretty cool, yeah?" Charles put his hands on his hips and looked incredibly proud of all their hard work.
"Pretty cool." Crystal smiled, holding back the rest of her giggles.
They all took a splash in the sea, then spent the rest of the day lounging, waiting after they had packed up for the wave that finally reached the hole and filled it up to the brim, knocking half of the dug up sand back in at the same time. They cheered.
Walking back up the path, Charles suddenly darted ahead. "Oh, yeah!" he cheered and when he turned back around, brandishing two large sticks that he had picked up from the bushes.
He threw one to Edwin, who deftly caught it. "En guarde!"
Without another word the two of them took a fighting stance and started "sword fighting" with the sticks, carrying on until they were almost back at the chalet, where Edwin finally managed to disarm Charles, sending the stick flying off to the left.
Before the sun had set, they finished packing up their overnight supplies, picked up some takeaway chips for the journey, and headed back to the train station. There would be one changeover at Plymouth and then they would be on their way back to London.
Vacation well spent.

The Treasure Hunt
Belle held the compass out in front of her, hand on her hip. The needle pointed at Mr. Gold, standing behind his desk and watching her, somehow both with bland disinterest and a little hint of panic.
“You’re not serious,” he said.
“You can see it with your own eyes.” She pointed at the compass needle. “You’re involved.”
“I’m not participating.”
At the town meeting that morning, the Storybrookians in attendance had all received what Belle could only describe as a message from above that they needed to find the self-destruct diamond or their town would implode. Belle hadn’t known that towns could implode, or even that there was such a thing as a self-destruct diamond, but here she was, standing in Mr. Gold’s shop with the compass that had appeared in her pocket as if by magic—magic!—because it had led her right to him.
“Why not?”
“Everyone in this town expects me to solve all their problems, dearie,” he said. He folded his hands over the glass counter, but kept his eyes on the compass. “Well, today, I’m closed for business.”
Belle snapped the compass shut. “Closed for all business?”
It wasn’t many people who could set a verbal trap for Mr. Gold, but then Belle suspected, after months of popping by to admire a set of first edition Jane Austens and, subsequently, chat, she could only trap him because he allowed her to.
“Have you finally come to make a purchase, then?”
“No.” She leaned onto the glass, careful not to smudge it. “I was thinking a deal.”
When he grit his teeth, eyes straying toward the compass, she knew she’d won.
****
“This is hardly a victory,” Mr. Gold muttered as Belle sat on a towel in the sand, sifting through seashells.
“It’s a baby milestone.” She discarded a small, broken one. “We solved the riddle, we should feel good.”
“It’s not solving the riddle until we have the next clue.”
Belle hummed but otherwise ignored him. He’d been crabby at every stop they’d made, from the library to the grocery, but he’d driven them to each one without protest, limping out of the car and watching her flit from place to place, rubbing shelves and walls and furniture to see if anything caught her eye. The compass had so far led them nowhere else, just kept spinning toward Mr. Gold whenever Belle tried to use it, so she figured that clue was done.
“Move over, this is taking forever.”
Belle hardly had time to register that Mr. Gold had spoken before he was folding himself onto the towel with her. He’d abandoned his jacket in the car long ago, but the image of him in most of a three-piece suit sitting on a towel on the beach, one Oxford-clad foot stretched out so his leg didn’t cramp, would not be leaving her soon.
“That’s the spirit!” She scooped up the pile of shells she had yet to sift through and dropped it between them.
While she picked through every shell, studied every crack, ran her finger over every crevice, Mr. Gold just stared at the pile, eyes slightly narrowed. She wished she could read his mind right then.
“There.” He flicked a few shells off and pulled out what looked to Belle to be a normal, if slightly shabby, clam shell. “That’s the one.”
She picked it up and ran her fingers along the grooves, into every crack and crevice, and then felt a slight pulse. He was right.
“How did you do that?” she asked.
“I trade in precious objects, Miss French.”
That wasn’t so much an answer as a statement of fact, but she didn’t press. Time was running out.
Shell in hand, she took the compass out of her pocket to see if this would make a difference, but all it did was continue to point at Mr. Gold. Useless.
“Okay.” Belle pocketed the shell. “I think we need to go to the woods next.”
She hauled herself to her feet and then offered a hand to Mr. Gold. He could have gotten himself up, she was sure, but instead, he took her hand, allowing her to help.
****
By noon, they’d collected the clam shell, a compact mirror, the leaf from a fiddlehead fern, a handful of loose tea leaves that Mr. Gold stuck in an Altoid tin, and a perfectly spherical rock that looked like someone had taken an ice cream scoop to the sidewalk.
“Does it not bother you that the supposed end of our town is being thwarted by nothing more than a glorified treasure hunt?” Mr. Gold asked as they drove back to his shop.
It did bother her, actually. It bothered her every time they collected a new, nonsensical item, every time they saw another team out and about.
“Well, what else can we do?” Belle asked. “I’m not just going to sit back and watch my home implode.”
He glanced at her, and she thought she saw the beginning twitch of a smile. She had grown to recognize the expression in their short, almost daily at this point, chats.
“If we are convinced that this magical divine hand of fate is, in fact, real, and if we are convinced that, if we do not solve this series of inane riddles by midnight, we’ll be destroyed, then I think we need to stop solving the little riddles and try to solve the big one.”
“I like it.” Belle straightened up. “Ambitious.”
“I’m nothing if not ambitious,” he said. “Besides, the clock on your deal is running low.”
Belle pursed her lips. Being ambitious herself, she’d only begged Mr. Gold for six hours of teamwork. She hadn’t expected to be creeping up on hour four feeling no closer to the end. “I only traded you for a favor sometime in the future. I’m sure we can work out an extension arrangement.”
He smirked, a much more common expression, though she’d never seen him so friendly.
“I’m sure we can.”
****
“If it’s a diamond,” Belle said, pausing between fries. “Then maybe we should check where diamonds are.”
With her time extended and Mr. Gold assured of two favors, they’d swung by Granny’s. Granny Lucas was so busy, she’d just made to-go containers of grilled cheese and fries, handing them to everyone except Mr. Gold, who she charged full price for both of them.
“I was thinking the same.” He drove with one hand, sandwich in the other.
“Mr. Gold?”
“Yes?”
“Do you really think there’s some sort of doomsday diamond in Storybrooke?”
“I never rule out anything.”
Belle watched him, slowing down her chewing to study his profile. He still wore his waistcoat and sleeve garters, but throughout the morning, his tie had come a little loose, his hair had gotten a little windswept and salty at the beach, and now he ate a grilled cheese for what she imagined was the first time in his prim and proper life.
In all her time in Storybrooke, she’d never imagined Mr. Gold would let his guard down enough for her to see him like this.
She snuck the compass out of her pocket and opened it. The needle was already pointed at Mr. Gold.
****
They stood at the mine entrance, all the trinkets stuffed into Belle’s pocket. She had no idea if this was it or not, but it felt momentous, like once they stepped into the darkness, nothing would be the same.
She hoped Storybrooke would still be there.
“Is it good or bad that we’re the only ones here?” Belle asked.
“Neutral,” he said. “I’m sure Regina will think of it soon.”
Belle nodded. Whatever happened, she had done her best to be the hero that her town needed.
“What if we’re not the only ones here?” She inched closer to him without thinking, gripping his cane arm.
He looked down at her hand with an expression she couldn’t read—or maybe she could, but she was afraid to at this moment, standing in front of their possible doom.
“Then we’re not the only ones here.”
She nodded. “I’ll go in first.”
“No.” He withdrew a small pistol. Had he been carrying that around all day? In his pocket? “I’ve got better aim.”
“You don’t have to do this.” She gripped his elbow. “You stay outside. I’ll go in.”
He cast her a wry look. “I’ve only broken one deal in my life, and I don’t intend to break a second.”
“I guess I’ll owe you a pretty big favor.” She attempted a smile.
“Two pretty big favors.”
That startled a laugh from her, and maybe she was crazy, but she could have sworn that a faint pink tinged Mr. Gold’s cheeks.
“Wait.” She tugged back on his arm, though he hadn’t moved, and then pulled the compass out of her pocket. “I just want to check one more time.”
He lowered the pistol. She opened the compass. The needle pointed at Mr. Gold.
“I can’t believe that the divine hand of fate would drop a compass into my pocket from nowhere and it doesn’t even do anything.” She snapped it shut.
“Maybe it only works once for a person,” he offered. “Here, let me try.”
She could have let go of him, but instead, she waited for him to stick the pistol back in his pocket—his pocket—before handing it over.
When he opened the compass, she couldn’t see over the lid, but she could see his jaw clench. He looked at her, then turned his back to her, shaking the compass.
“Well?” she asked. “Is it pointing at you still?”
“No.” He didn’t move.
“What’s it pointing at?” She tugged on his sleeve and, slowly, as though it took great effort, he turned back to face her, snapping the compass shut.
“What’s that information worth to you?”
Taken aback, she let go of his sleeve. Why was he suddenly being difficult? He’d been so accommodating all day, even tromping half-crouched through the woods until they found the exact fiddlehead they needed.
“What’s it worth to me?”
He shrugged, his bland expression back. He could have slapped her. “Either you want to know or you don’t.”
Something like fire bubbled up in her. Maybe she could open her mouth and scorch him.
“How could you do this to me? Right now, at the end?”
He shrugged again. “We don’t know this is the end.”
“Fine, give it to me, and I’ll go in by myself. You can leave.”
She tried to snatch the compass from him, but he held it out of reach, fending her off by barely moving his cane. How was he so much more agile than her?
“I’ll tell you what.” He held the compass above his head. Her fingertips just barely touched his wrist. “If you check it one more time where I can see, I’ll tell you what mine said.”
That knocked the wind from her sails. She dropped to her flat feet. “Fine. Hand it over.”
He did without comment or complaint, and she threw the lid open with more force than was probably warranted. The needle wavered a bit, but still pointed solidly at Mr. Gold.
“There. Are you happy now?”
But when she looked at him, his expression was unlike anything she’d ever seen. He might have been about to retch. Her anger evaporated. Mr. Gold wasn’t trying to be difficult—whatever he’d seen had scared him.
“Where did yours point?” she asked.
“A deal’s a deal, isn’t it?” His voice was softer than she’d ever heard it, tinged with something like anguish. “Have you figured out what it’s meant to point at yet?”
If a deal was a deal, why did she still not know where the needle had gone for him?
“I don’t know,” she said. “It pointed at you and you brought me here, so maybe it’s not about the doomsday diamond at all, but the thing I needed most to get there?”
“I don’t think it’s about the diamond,” he said. “If it was, we’d have seen other people wandering around with their nose in compasses, or maybe a map.”
What was he getting at? Belle knew she was clever, but she felt daft then. “Okay, so—just something I needed most?”
He shrugged. “Perhaps.”
“Mr. Gold, I’ve never raised my voice to you, but I think I might. Where did it point for you?”
His lip twitched, the familiar gesture putting her on more even footing. “It pointed at you.”
She opened her mouth to say that of course it did, if they were meant to be on this treasure hunt together, it made sense that the compass would point to one another, but then it sunk in. What if, like he said, the compass wasn’t about doomsday? What if whatever force had dropped the other clues had dropped this in her pocket as some sort consolation for the end of the world? A way to allow her to spend the whole day with Mr. Gold?
“You need me?” she asked.
“It would appear so.”
She pursed her lips. “Mr. Gold, don’t be so stubborn.”
He smirked, but it didn’t reach his eyes as he watched the compass. “Sorry, dear. It’s in my nature.”
Well, it was in hers too. Emboldened by the fact that he hadn’t yet fled for the car, she took a step toward him, then another, then touched her lips to his. The ground shook.
He didn’t move, and she pulled back.
“What are you doing?” he asked, hoarse.
“If we’re going to die, and we both agree that we need each other, I think we should kiss at least once.”
“Do we?” he asked. “Do you? Agree?”
“I agree.” She kissed him again, and this time, he slid his free arm around her waist, and she cupped his cheek, and then the ground shook so hard they both fell over. Belle managed to grab him so that she took the brunt of the fall instead of him and his bad leg, and when the world stopped shaking, he did not look pleased.
“Belle,” he said, filling her veins with warmth. “Now you’re hurt. What have you—”
A high-pitched whine screeched from the mines, and they both hunched. Belle grabbed his tie and yanked him to her.
“What are you—”
“Kiss me again, it’s working!”
Maybe it was presumptuous to think that pressing her lips to Mr. Gold’s had anything to do with stopping the end of the world as they knew it, but as she did it a third time, she couldn’t have cared less.

How to travel without luggage: a guide to minimalist adventure
Traveling without luggage might sound daunting at first, but it offers a liberating experience that can enhance your adventures. Imagine breezing through airports without waiting at baggage claim or seamlessly hopping on and off public transport without struggling with bulky bags. Traveling light is not only more convenient but can also save you money and reduce travel stress. Here’s a guide to mastering the art of traveling without luggage.
Embrace the minimalist mindset
The first step to traveling without luggage is adopting a minimalist mindset. This means being intentional about what you bring and focusing on necessities. Start by asking yourself what you truly need for this trip. Consider the weather, activities, and duration of your stay. For a weekend city break, you might only need a few clothing items, toiletries, a smartphone, and a wallet. Many travelers find that they can fit everything into a small backpack, making the journey hassle-free and mobile.
Choose the right bag
When traveling without traditional luggage, selecting the right bag is crucial. Opt for a versatile, durable backpack or a crossbody bag with multiple compartments. Ensure the bag is comfortable for extended periods and has secure closures. A small, 20-liter backpack can be ideal for short trips, offering enough space for essentials while being compact enough to carry comfortably throughout your journey.
Pack multi-functional clothing
The key to packing light is choosing versatile clothing that can be mixed and matched to create multiple outfits. Opt for lightweight, wrinkle-resistant fabrics that dry quickly and can be worn in different settings. Choose a reversible jacket or a pair of pants that convert into shorts, allowing you to adapt to various climates and situations with minimal clothing. Consider items that serve dual purposes, such as a scarf that can also be used as a blanket or a sarong that doubles as a beach towel.
Use packing aids
Packing aids like compression bags and packing cubes can help you organize your belongings efficiently and maximize space. These tools allow you to fit more into a smaller bag while keeping items accessible and neat. Using a compression bag for clothing and a small packing cube for toiletries can significantly reduce the volume of your packed items, making it easier to manage on the go.
Simplify your toiletries
When it comes to toiletries, less is more. Opt for travel-sized products or multi-use items to save space and weight. Consider solid toiletries like bar soap, shampoo bars, and toothpaste tablets, which are not only compact but also help you bypass liquid restrictions at airports. A single solid soap bar can replace body wash, shampoo, and even laundry detergent in a pinch. This minimizes the need for multiple bottles and simplifies your packing list.
Leverage technology
Take advantage of technology to reduce physical baggage. Instead of carrying books or maps, use e-readers and digital maps on your smartphone or tablet. Store important documents, itineraries, and tickets in digital form to keep your paperwork minimal. Plan for laundry
If you’re traveling for more than a few days, plan to do laundry during your trip. Many accommodations offer laundry services, or you can pack a small, portable clothesline and some detergent to wash clothes in your hotel room. A quick hand wash and air-drying can keep your limited wardrobe fresh and clean, allowing you to travel light without sacrificing cleanliness or comfort.

A Day at the Beach
Kanae Kochou x They/Them Reader Modern AU
A/N: Cute idea! I didn’t know what the direction of the story should be about so I hope you don’t mind the beach. I also put a hint of ShinoMitsu in here because I miss them. Thanks for reading, hope you like it! Word Count: 2,420
“Food, water, juice, sunscreen, towels, tarp—“
“Sand toys!” Daichi interrupted his parent, eyeing the list intently. He couldn’t quite read yet, but he could pick out things here and there.
“Yes, sand toys, first-aid kit, floaties—“
“Noodles!” Itsuki shrieked. Nothing brought him more joy than a good water noodle fight. He simply had to make sure they are not forgotten!
“There will be noodles, I promise.” (Y/n) swore to their child for the fourth time that morning. “Why don’t you boys go put your swim trunks on so you’ll be ready when it’s time to get in the car, okay?”
(Y/n) heard Kanae giggle beside them as the boys upturned the swim bag and sifted through for their respective swim trunks.
“This is going to be such a fun day. I’m glad we’re doing this.” Kanae beamed.
“Once everything is packed up and we make it to the beach, I’ll agree with you.” (Y/n) half joked, getting up from the couch to help Itsuki who had somehow put both legs in the same hole of his swim trunks.
A fussy wail then caught Kanae’s attention as she helped Daichi tie the drawstring of his trunks.
“Sounds like Ayame is awake. I’ll get her ready. Do you still need help with packing?” Kanae asked.
“Don’t worry, I’ll figure it out. Actually, can you get the baby duffle ready too?”
“Already on it.” Kanae gave (Y/n) a chaste kiss on the cheek as she walked passed them and disappeared down the hall. (Y/n) could hear her faint cooing and their daughter’s cries silenced.
“Okay boys, will you help me with a big job?” (Y/n) asked.
“Yes!”
(Y/n) rolled out the compact cooler that already had a layer of ice on the bottom. The boys’ eyes lit up, not hesitating to reach in and touch the cold cubes.
“Can you put the drinks in here please? No, don’t put the ice in your mouth, we need that to keep the drinks cold. Put them in like this so there is lots of room left for the food, okay?” (Y/n) opened the boxes of water and juice to give the boys easier access.
“We can do it!”
“Thank you. I’ll be back in a minute.”
(Y/n) knew they had to work quickly to gather what needed to be taken out to the car. As well meaning as their children were, they were still very young and impulsive. They could turn back around and probably find them sitting in the cooler, or see ice chips scattered all over the floor.
(Y/n) tightly packed the towels back into the swim bag the boys had ransacked, then grabbed the first-aid kit from the bathroom, putting it in another bag with the sunscreen, floaties and the rolled up tarp. From the closet, they also grabbed a couple camping chairs for themself and Kanae. They’d grab the kids’ chairs too, but they seldom used them anyway. They would much rather sit on their parents instead.
(Y/n) took the two bags in one hand and the straps of the chair bags in the other then went to check on the boys, relieved to see that nothing seemed amiss.
“Will one of you help me get the door please. And someone want to open the trunk?”
Daichi tore off to the door with Itsuki trying his best to keep up.
“Walking feet,” (Y/n) reminded, “Careful for the step.”
The boys heeded their warning, but it was clear they were buzzing with excitement.
“I wanna open the trunk!”
“I do!”
“No, me!”
“I want to hit the button!”
Ah, how could (Y/n) forget the age old battle of who gets to hit the button that will make the trunk open.
“How about you both press it at the same time?”
“No!” They yelled in unison.
“Alright, here’s what we’re going to do. One of you is going to open the trunk, and then the other will get to close it. That way it’s fair.”
After a bit of squabbling, Daichi got his way. Making an older sibling promise of showing Itsuki something cool once they got to the beach. Once the trunk opened, (Y/n) wasted no time hauling the heavy goods inside.
“Alright, c’mere bud.”
(Y/n) hoisted Itsuki into their arms so that he could reach the button. They would need to open the trunk again of course, but when it came to a three year old who was very fixated on what he wanted, it was best to just do it sooner than later before he began to think he had been cheated out of his turn. It can be hard to reason with small children sometimes.
“Okay, while we’re out here let’s get the beach toys from the shed.” (Y/n) prompted, following the boys who had already taken off as soon as beach toys were mentioned.
They dragged back a couple of pool noodles, the sand toys, and an inflatable ball. Daichi and Itsuki wanted to bring more, but (Y/n) managed to dissuade them. They would be plenty entertained with what they already had. They would probably tire out before too long anyway.
They did their little ritual with the trunk again and then headed back inside to finish packing the cooler. When they entered, Kanae was shifting her feet, rocking from side to side in that magical way that always managed to make Ayame happy.
Kanae turned to face (Y/n), a confused smile on her face,
“Making punch, dear?”
“Hm?” (Y/n) stepped up beside Kanae to look into the cooler and held in a groan.
Well, the boys did put the drinks in… just not with the containers they came in. Their cooler had become a tub of watered down fruit juice while they had been packing.
“I’ll have this clean in less than ten minutes. I still have the other half of the bag of ice and we can pick up more drinks when we stop for gas.”
“Take your time, there is no rush.” Kanae comforted, as laid back as ever.
“I love how easy-going you are, but I would like to get there before midnight.”
“I don’t know, that sounds pretty romantic.” Kanae teased.
“Oh, then let’s drop the kids off with Shinobu and trade the juice boxes for a couple of cocktails.” (Y/n) couldn’t help but laugh imagining the look Shinobu would give them if they came to her apartment unannounced to push their children into her arms and leave as quickly as they came.
“We couldn’t possibly, not after last time. I think she still hasn’t forgiven us.” Kanae recalled.
“She got help from her neighbor across the hall,” (Y/n) waved dismissively, “Kanroji, was it? I think we were actually doing her a favor. You saw how cute they looked together.”
“They did look really cute, didn’t they? I should figure out if anything is going on with them yet.”
“And if dropping off the kids unexpectedly doesn’t get us killed, meddling with Shinobu’s prospective love life certainly will.” (Y/n) began to pour the liquid down the sink. Then they scrubbed it with warm, soapy water and patted the cooler dry.
“Is Shino-Obachan coming to the beach?” Itsuki asked hopefully.
“No, sorry sweetheart. Maybe another time. Shinobu has a lot of big tests coming up soon and she wants to study.” Kanae explained, patting over her son’s unruly hair with her free hand.
“Alright, cooler is half ready to go.” (Y/n) declared, “Found everything okay for Ayame’s bag?”
“All accounted for.” Kanae patted the bag resting atop the counter.
(Y/n) took the cooler and the duffle bag to the car with the boys while Kanae put Ayame into her car seat. After a final check of the supplies and making sure that everyone was buckled into their seats, they were off.
It was only an hour trip to the beach, but with a baby and two young children it might as well be twelve. They were pretty good for the first twenty-five minutes, but then they started getting fidgety. Daichi had somehow managed to pull the pool noodles from the back of the car and placed one of them in Itsuki’s grabby hands. They then proceeded to whack the crap out of each other. Daichi being older and having the advantage of being in the back seat, it didn’t take long for Itsuki to realize he had been given the raw deal. He was getting more and more frustrated with every bonk to his face.
“Boys!” Kanae turned in her seat, not wanting the tension to build into something totally unmanageable, “Daichi, please stop bopping your brother. Put the noodles down. It’s dangerous to play rough in the car.”
“But I’m bored!” Daichi whined, and though Itsuki had been ready to scream bloody murder half a second ago, he seconded his brother’s thoughts.
“We’ll be there in thirty minutes. How about we play I spy?” Kanae suggested.
“No!” They answered in unison.
“Alphabet game?” (Y/n) tried to suggest.
“No!”
“How about some music?” Kanae was already syncing her phone to the bluetooth, “This album never fails. Let’s all sing along!”
As soon as the jaunty tune of one of those ear worm songs began, the boys were all ears.
“Nice save as always.” (Y/n) complimented. “That’ll keep them busy for awhile.”
“Thank you, darling,” Kanae beamed, “but don’t forget to sing along! The words are starting soon.”
Well, there were worse things to do than sing along to songs about dinosaurs. And to be honest, the whole album was kind of a bop. Even Ayame was making happy little shrieks while she kicked her feet.
They made their quick stop at the gas station and not much longer after that, they finally made it to the beach.
“No, no, do not go in the water yet,” Kanae warned the eager boys, “Not until we have a spot set up and everyone’s sunscreen has set.”
Daichi and Itsuki deflated, but they listened to their mother, joining her under the shade of the tent like tarp she and (Y/n) had setup. Once everyone was adequately slathered in sunscreen, Kanae convinced the boys to make a sand castle with her instead of going into the water right away.
(Y/n) joined them after they secured Ayame’s cute little sun hat atop her head. They sat beside Kanae in the warm sand, holding Ayame in a way that would give her enough support to stand. The baby babbled and squealed at the texture of the sand between her toes, wiggling and bending her legs to further sample the coarse granules.
“So happy,” (Y/n) observed, “do you like the sand Aya?”
“So cute!” Kanae cooed, reaching back for her phone. She needed to document this precious moment!
“Smile baby! Can you smile for mommy? Oh, such a sweetheart!” Kanae snapped a buch of photos in rapid succession, then turned to the Daichi and Itsuki digging their moat, “Your turn boys, smile!”
Itsuki gave Kanae a big grin, shovel in hand and his arms already caked in wet sand from all of the digging. Daichi stuck out his tongue, wearing a bucket like a hat. Kanae chuckled, taking another burst of photos. Before she could put her phone back, (Y/n) stopped her.
“What, you think you can just take a bunch of pictures without being in any of them?” They reasoned, sitting Ayame up in their lap to take Kanae’s phone.
They motioned for the boys to crowd around Kanae and took a couple pictures, then they motioned them all over to sit around them and Ayame. It was a little tricky to get them all into frame, but they managed to get a couple nice pictures of the whole family.
(Y/n) handed Kanae’s phone back to her, mirroring her happiness. More picture would be taken throughout the day, especially when they would start playing in the water.
The family approached the gently lapping waves, Itsuki chasing off a few seagulls on the way. Kanae reminded Daichi and Itsuki to only go in as far as their bellybuttons and to stay close. The water gradually got colder the deeper they went, making the waves feel quite refreshing.
Finally the noodle fight could begin in earnest. While the boys smacked and splashed each other, (Y/n) and Kanae sat in the shallow water with Ayame. (Y/n) stood her up in the water, but unlike with the sand, Ayame didn’t seem to be as big or a fan of the water. She began to fuss, trying to keep her feet up and away from the surf.
(Y/n) scooped her back up to rest against their shoulder and patted the disgruntled baby on the back while Kanae soothed her with her voice and stroked her chubby cheek with one finger.
After awhile, they boys got tired of whaling on each other, they turned their weapons on their parents and baby sister instead. (Y/n) transferred Ayame into Kanae’s arms and the boys shrieked when they stood up and began to chase after them in the shallow water. They stole the noodles and bopped them both on their heads as they giggled and tried to dodge the hits.
It wasn’t long before stomachs began to rumble and they went back to their setup to eat lunch. Afterward, Itsuki and Daichi got back to work on their sand city and Kanae joined them, helping them find the perfect ratio of water to sand for the best and strongest structures. (Y/n) sat in one of the chairs nearby with Ayame sleeping against their chest.
After a couple more hours of alternating between playing in the sand and sea, fatigue was finally hitting the boys and the sky was steadily growing more pink and orange. It was time to pack up and go home. As tired as the kids were, they didn’t want to leave, but when Kanae dropped that they could grab some fast food for dinner on the way home, they changed their tune.
They packed everything up then washed themselves of the sand and salt water and changed into fresh clothes. They then bid the beach goodbye and drove away.
Full and satisfied from their dinner on the road, it didn’t take long for the three children to fall asleep to the soft music Kanae had put on.
“Today was a lot of fun, wasn’t it?” Kanae whispered.
“It was,” (Y/n) agreed, “I hope we can do it again soon.”
Kanae beamed, twining her fingers around (Y/n)’s free hand as they drove closer and closer to home.

Embracing Beach Fashion: My Guide to Effortless Warm Weather Wear and the Magic of the Sarong
Hey there, beach bums and sun seekers! I recently got back from an epic trip to Cabo San Lucas, and I just have to share my beach fashion escapades with you all. There’s something magical about feeling the warm sand between your toes, listening to the waves crash, and, of course, strutting your stuff in fabulous beachwear. Because let’s be honest – half the fun of a beach vacation is rocking those cute outfits. And guess what? I’ve discovered the ultimate warm weather fashion secret weapon: the sarong.
If you haven’t been introduced to the wondrous world of sarongs yet, brace yourself. This simple piece of fabric is about to change your warm weather game forever. So grab a piña colada, kick back, and let’s dive into why sarongs are the unsung heroes of beach fashion and how you can tie them like a pro!
The Magic of the Sarong
Okay, first things first. What in the world is a sarong? Picture this: a large, fabulous piece of fabric, typically about six feet long and three feet wide, adorned with vibrant patterns and colors that scream “vacation mode.” Sarongs have been worn in tropical regions for ages and for good reason. They’re the Swiss Army knife of beachwear – versatile, easy to use, and endlessly stylish. So let’s break down why sarongs are the warm weather fashion MVP.
Why Sarongs Are a Warm Weather Fashion Must-Have
Versatility: Seriously, there’s nothing these babies can’t do. Dress? Check. Skirt? Check. Scarf, beach towel, headwrap? Check, check, check. It’s like having a whole wardrobe in one piece of fabric.
Compact and Lightweight: Say goodbye to overstuffed beach bags. Sarongs are light, take up hardly any space, and dry super fast. Perfect for the minimalist traveler or anyone who hates carrying extra baggage.
Easy to Clean: Spill some sunscreen? No problem. Sarongs are easy to wash and dry quickly, so you’re never stuck with a soggy mess.
Fashionable and Functional: With endless designs and colors, you can match your sarong to any swimsuit or mood. Plus, they’re a quick cover-up for when you need to dash from the beach to the bar.
Comfort: On a hot day, nothing beats the breezy comfort of a sarong. Pants? Forget about it. Sarongs keep you cool and stylish without the fuss.
How to Tie a Sarong
Now that we’ve established why sarongs are awesome, let’s talk about how to style them. Spoiler alert: it’s super easy, and you’ll look like a beach goddess in no time.
Basic Waist Wrap
Let’s start with the basics – the waist wrap. Perfect for when you need a quick cover-up to hit the snack bar or chase down the ice cream truck.
Step 1: Hold the sarong horizontally behind you like you’re about to stage an elaborate magic trick.
Step 2: Wrap it around your waist, bringing the ends to the front.
Step 3: Tie the ends in a knot at your hip. Ta-da! Instant skirt.
Halter Dress
Transform your sarong into a chic halter dress for those beachside lunches or casual strolls where you want to look effortlessly fabulous.
Step 1: Hold the sarong horizontally behind you.
Step 2: Bring the top two corners up and around your neck.
Step 3: Tie the corners in a knot at the nape of your neck.
You’ve now got a flowy, stylish dress that’s perfect for any casual occasion. Vogue, here you come.
One-Shoulder Dress
Add a touch of elegance with this one-shoulder number. Perfect for when you want to impress that cute lifeguard or just feel like a Greek goddess.
Step 1: Hold the sarong horizontally behind you.
Step 2: Bring one corner over one shoulder.
Step 3: Wrap the other end around your body and tie it to the corner on your shoulder.
Et voilà! You’re now rocking a chic, one-shoulder look.
Strapless Dress
For a cute, comfortable dress option, try this strapless style that stays in place even when you’re chasing seagulls.
Step 1: Hold the sarong horizontally in front of you.
Step 2: Wrap it around your back, bringing the top corners to the front.
Step 3: Tie the top corners in a knot at your chest.
You now have a breezy strapless dress that’s perfect for soaking up the sun and showing off your tan.
Head Wrap
Need to protect your head from the sun or just want a cool new look? The sarong has got you covered. Literally.
Step 1: Fold the sarong diagonally to form a triangle.
Step 2: Place the long edge of the triangle along your forehead.
Step 3: Bring the two ends around to the back of your head and tie them in a knot.
Instant chic head wrap that keeps your hair in place and your style on point.
My Beach Fashion Essentials
While the sarong is the star of the show, there are a few other beach fashion essentials that I never leave home without. These items complement the sarong perfectly and help create that effortless, beachy vibe we all crave.
Swimsuits
A well-fitting swimsuit is a must for any beach trip. I usually pack a couple of options – a classic bikini for maximum tanning and a one-piece for water sports or when I want a bit more coverage. Pairing a vibrant sarong with a simple swimsuit can really make your beach outfit pop.
Sun Hats
A wide-brimmed sun hat not only looks stylish but also provides essential protection from the sun. Whether you’re lounging by the water or strolling along the shore, a sun hat adds a touch of glamour to any beach outfit. Plus, it makes you feel like a movie star from the 1950s.
Sunglasses
Protecting your eyes from the sun’s harsh rays is crucial, and a pair of stylish sunglasses can complete your beach look. I always opt for polarized lenses to reduce glare and enhance visibility. Plus, they make you look effortlessly cool, even when you’re squinting at the snack menu.
Sandals
Comfortable sandals are a must for navigating sandy shores and rocky paths. I prefer lightweight, water-friendly options that I can easily slip on and off. They’re perfect for transitioning from beach to boardwalk without missing a beat, and they won’t leave you hopping on hot sand like a lunatic.
Beach Bag
A spacious beach bag is essential for carrying all your beach gear. I love bags with multiple compartments to keep everything organized – sunscreen, snacks, a book, and, of course, my sarong. Look for a bag made from durable, easy-to-clean material, because sand gets everywhere.
Lightweight Dresses
In addition to my sarong, I always pack a few lightweight dresses. They’re perfect for slipping over your swimsuit for a quick trip to the beach bar or a casual dinner. Choose breathable fabrics like cotton or linen to stay cool and comfortable, and to give off those “I’m effortlessly chic” vibes.
Accessories
A few simple accessories can elevate your beach look. I like to bring some fun jewelry – think shell necklaces, beaded bracelets, and anklets. They add a playful touch to your outfit without being too fussy. Just avoid anything too precious; the ocean has a knack for swallowing up jewelry.
Making the Most of Your Sarong
Beyond its fashion versatility, the sarong is incredibly practical. Here are a few more ways to make the most of this magical piece of fabric:
Beach Towel
Forget lugging around a bulky towel. A sarong can easily double as a beach towel. It’s large enough to lie on, dries quickly, and is much lighter to carry. Plus, it can shake off sand much more easily than a traditional towel.
Blanket
Whether you’re having a beach picnic or just need a spot to rest, a sarong makes a perfect blanket. Spread it out on the sand or grass, and you’ve got an instant seating area that’s comfortable and stylish.
Shawl
When the sun starts to set and the evening breeze kicks in, a sarong can double as a shawl to keep you warm. Simply drape it over your shoulders or wrap it around you like a cozy blanket. Instant warmth without the bulk.
Bag
In a pinch, you can transform your sarong into a makeshift bag. Just tie the corners together to create a bundle, and you’ve got an instant tote for carrying beach treasures or groceries from the market. Plus, it looks way cooler than a plastic bag.
Final Thoughts
Beach fashion is all about embracing the laid-back, carefree vibes of summer and warm weather. With the right pieces, you can look effortlessly chic while staying comfortable and practical. The sarong, in particular, has become my warm weather fashion MVP – its versatility and style are unmatched.
So next time you’re packing for a beach trip, make sure to include a few sarongs in your bag. Experiment with different ways to tie and wear them, and you’ll soon discover why they’re the best fashion item for warm weather travels. From lounging by the water to exploring local markets, a sarong will be your go-to piece for any sunny adventure.

Okay, I´ve finally finished it. And I've started on June, 2nd. This story was intended to be something short and fluffy, but it turned out bigger and with some sad themes (loss of a close relative in particular, and attempts at coping with it).
~5.7k words. Luis x OC.
Sorry for any mistakes and typos. Some things might seem weird - as I'm not completely sure if real people do talk like that.
Idea: Beach day with Luis.
Summary: Sea and cats are the best cure for the soul.
By the Sea at the Edge of Forever
“The sea is everything. It covers seven tenths of the terrestrial globe. Its breath is pure and healthy. It is an immense desert, where man is never lonely, for he feels life stirring on all sides. The sea is only the embodiment of a supernatural and wonderful existence. It is nothing but love and emotion; it is the Living Infinite. ”
― Jules Verne, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea
- So, this is your hometown, eh? - Luis could not resist asking this question in the late evening, when the priority tasks were finished.
Other relatives and friends of Jessy's brother were notified of time and date of the funeral. The newfound cats were fed, the minimum cleaning in the apartment was done too. Even soothing tea was brewed and handed to a young dark-haired woman, who looked pretty upset by this sad event.
- Almost, - the girl who settled in Serra's arms smiled mirthlessly and, after taking a sip of tea, continued even without more questions. - My parents moved here when I was a little less than a year old. For the climate, they said. Sea air, and all that, you know...
- Speaking of sea air... Maybe we can go to any beach? - the Spaniard felt that he was treading on uneasy territory, but he also felt the urge to cheer up his girlfriend. - I once heard that cure for everything is salt water: tears, sweat and the sea...
Silence fell over the room. For a while, Jessica just sat there, clutching a mug of tea with both hands, as if trying to warm up her fingers. But when Serra was starting to worry that he might've crossed a line with this proposal, beyond which she would simply stop talking to him (just after asking him to leave), the girl emerged from her trance and finally answered.
- You know, I dig this idea of yours, - she turned a little in the ring of hands to see the face of her Spaniard. - I've had enough tears for now. There is one small beach here, quite secluded. I like it. But it's not easy to get to it, and your back...
- It's fine, mi luz, - Luis smiled at her reassuringly. - I'm in pretty good shape already, such a walk won't hurt me.
- Well, okay then, - still, Jessy decided to play it safe. - However, we can always change the route and stop at any other place on the coast. It's not the high season, so it's not like there will be no free space on the beach.
- ¡Bien! - the Spaniard beamed and hugged his girlfriend a little closer, mindful about the mug of hot tea in her hands. - Then we'll leave tomorrow morning.
The next morning came quickly. And while Luis was cooking breakfast, despite the cats' attempts to sabotage all the preparations (or, at least, to get these new people to take their feline friends with them wherever they were going), Jessy went on with packing stuff they would need. Surprisingly, this apartment still had some of her belongings, although she has not been living here for almost a year: working, traveling, getting stuck in that mess in Spain and staying by Serra's side at the hospital and even after that...
Two small backpacks readily accepted beach towels and a compact beach mat, sunscreen lotion, water and a light snack (sandwiches with butter and cheese, dates and a few oranges)... Besides, she managed to rearrange the contents of the backpacks so that Luis got a lighter one. The same stab wound on his back that almost ended his life was healed, of course, but doctor's orders were to avoid any serious strain until the end of the rehabilitation period. And there were at least a few more weeks before it, so the girl did not want to worsen the condition of the person so dear to her. Also she was used to go hiking with a backpack three times heavier and it was not a big deal for her.
Among her clothes left in this apartment brunette unexpectedly found men's swim shorts, which she once bought for herself as a part of beach outfit. But they remained brand new as Jessy never dared to wear this piece in public because of unusual design with pictures of turtles in various poses from the Kama Sutra. Luis, on the other hand, didn't have any problems with that, he just grinned at the offering and tried the shorts on to make sure it suited his size.
After having breakfast and, at Jessy's insistence, applying sunscreen on their faces and hands, the couple set off. At first they went by public transport almost to the outskirts of this small coastal town, and then by foot, along forest trails. They tried to keep slightly away from the wider road: though its condition was terrifying, there still were some reckless souls who seemingly enjoyed bumpy and dusty car rides.
On their way Serra chatted almost incessantly about all and everything at once. He even told a story how he learned to read animal tracks as a child. Then he asked something about the surrounding area, and, after listening to the answer, gave out a new bunch of questions. But as they came to the seashore, he stopped mid-sentence and stared in fascination at the expanse of water spreading before his eyes. Jessica sighed happily by his side - she had always harbored deep love for the sea, and now she was glad to share this love with someone significant.
- Well, hello, here we are, - the girl said softly, wiping away the welled up tears and not being afraid to seem ridiculous because of this and because of her words addressed to the majestic water element.
For some reason, she was absolutely sure that Luis *would understand* that. And he did, silently squeezing her cold fingers in his warm hands.
- Perhaps, we will have to walk in the water somewhere, and, please, be careful with stones, even large ones, - brunette gave out the warning on the rights of someone who had scouted all the surroundings in her childhood. - I was about six years old, and that stone seemed very reliable... As a result, twisted leg, slightly cut arms... And my dad and my brother took turns carrying me back to town.
At the mention of her relatives, Jessy´s voice quivered, but she managed to regain control of her emotions.
- Point taken, - the Spaniard nodded seriously, adjusted the straps of his backpack and, wincing from the short jolt of pain in his left arm, added with his usual charming smile. - Vamos, I can't wait to see that beach you were talking about with such a dreamy expression on your face.
And they headed to the border of the first beach, where the sand was almost hidden beneath rather large stones. Jessy was leading the way, maneuvering between those stones with ease, but never forgetting to cast a side glance at her companion to make sure that he was all right and that she wasn't too fast for him. Well, another reason for those glances was to take some sweet time to admire Serra's grace.
It turned out soon, that their's timing for such trip was not very great. The high tide period quickly had them taking off their shoes and rolling up their pant legs. However, the first water obstacle also had an unexpected effect: Jessica barely took a couple of steps only knee-deep in water and froze, feeling sudden dizziness and nausea. The water was so clear and shimmering that it was hard to understand what real depth lied ahead. Some underwater stones and common unevenness of the bottom only added to said effect of uncertainty. The brunette almost offered to turn back, unable to overcome this weakness combined with irrational fear of suddenly going under water, but then Luis was the first to step forward and, turning around, held out his hand to her.
- Hold tight and look at me, not at the water, - understanding and care were reflecting in his gray eyes, and confidence that nothing bad would happen.
Jessy nodded and, clutching to the offered hand, also took a step. She almost went off balance immediately, but Luis never allowed her to fall, simply pressing her to his chest and letting to wait out this dizzy spell. Her next step was much more confident, but she never let go of her Spaniard's hand. Fortunately, there wasn't much distance left to go, and just a little bit longer before their intended destination.
The entrance to that small beach was partially covered by a pile of stones — and without knowing that there was a passage there, it could be easily missed. Jessica confidently dived into this very passage, waving to Serra to keep up. To a casual observer it would seem as if they had vanished into the barrier. And there they were met by light sea breeze, gentle sun and salty spray. The couple could also hear the even roar of the surf, accompanied by the rustle of stones carried away by the waves. And absolutely black sand was quite striking addition to the view.
- Vaya, - the Spaniard breathed out in pure fascination. - How beautiful...
- It is, - the girl responded quietly, leaning into her man's shoulder. - I've missed this place so much...
They dropped the backpacks and set up the place for their base camp, spreading the beach mat and pinning it down with suitable cobbles so that it wouldn't be blown away.
- There is a natural pool of a kind here, that area surrounded by rocks, about waist-deep for me... The water usually warms up faster in there, - and Jessica fell silent, realizing that yesterday she was so desperate for any kind of distraction that she did not even ask what exactly they plan to do on the beach. - By the way... You *can* swim, right?
- Only in fresh water, - Luis, who has already managed to pull off his shirt and jeans and even settle on the mat, saw the mentioned "pool" and smiled in anticipation. - There was a swimming pool at the uni, and we didn't always have our lake contaminated with that... thing. But I haven't got a chance to swim in the sea yet.
- It's said it's easier to swim in salty water, it pushes you to the surface, - the girl relaxed a bit and reached for a bottle of sunscreen. - Do you want me to help with your back? The forecast said that sun can be quite active today.
- And why only my back is worthy of your attention? - the Spaniard pretended to be indignant, nevertheless obediently turning over on his stomach. - What about the rest parts of my body?
- Well, if you insist... - Jessy readily played along, squeezing the lotion onto the man's back and applying it with confident movements on his shoulders and neck, trying not to disturb that new scar under his left shoulder blade. Skin at that place was still too sensitive.
She even touched top of his ears with the lotion out of an old habit, explaining to Serra, who jerked in surprise, that people rarely think that such body parts need protection too, and sunburned ears are really unpleasant experience.
- The only thing worse is getting the scalp sunburned in the parting, - the girl giggled, recalling that *unforgettable* experience of hers. - Moreover, no one believes you when you get sunburns in such weird places. So, roll over and let's continue.
A new portion of the sunscreen was squeezed on a broad chest with the older scar, and soft hands got back to work — gently rubbing the lotion onto chest, arms, stomach... Throughout the process gray eyes were never turning away from brunette's slightly smiling face. However, when those hands slipped on his sides, Serra tried to squirm out from under the light touches.
- Don't, Jess, - the man pleaded through involuntary laughter. - Por favor...
- Sorry, sunshine, - the girl quickly removed her hands and gently touched the tip of her beloved's nose with her finger, leaving a little bit of lotion there. - I guess, you'd better finish this on your own.
While Serra was finishing with his face and legs, his companion got rid of her T—shirt and hiking pants, fished out from her backpack another bottle with a sunscreen of higher SPF, and began to apply the protective coating. With her rather pale skin using a more powerful remedy was quite a logical choice.
- And now it's your turn, - the Spaniard almost purred, not even trying to hide a playful glint in his eyes. - Get down and hand me your lotion.
Jessica stretched out on the beach mat with a smile, exposing her back to the man who knelt next to her, ready to return the favor. Suddenly it dawned on Jessy that she really trusted Luis. Not forcing herself to trust him - it was simply there. During their "Spanish adventure" she had absolutely no time to stop and muse about such things, but now the realization has finally caught up with her.
She only instinctively tensed for a second when deft fingers unhooked the top of her swimsuit. It was a public place, after all, and she was not quite ready for being that explicit. It felt just like a quick test for developed trust, so Jessy relaxed. Luis still noticed her reaction and stopped to explain his intentions.
- This is just to cover all of your skin, - his words did not diverge from the deed, with strong hands smoothly sliding along the curves of the female body, carefully wrapping it with an even layer of sunscreen. - The straps and belt are too thin, if they shift, you won't like the outcome.
- Been there, done that, - the brunette admitted with a stifled chuckle, patiently waiting until the Spaniard hooked everything back, in order to roll over on her back and put her chest and stomach under his caring hands.
Of course, she could have managed on her own from that point, but it felt so nice to be taken care of, that the girl just mentally shushed her inner voice and allowed herself to revel in such an uncommon feeling.
They chatted a bit more, while waiting for the sunscreen to "cure" on their skin. Jessy shared a couple of funny sea-related stories from her past. Though shocked expression on Spaniard's face openly hinted her that the particular story about her almost drowning at the age of five was not that funny as it seemed to her.
- Hey, it was okay, - she tried to lighten the mood. - My dad was close by. He plucked me out of water in no time. It was not enough time for me even to get scared.
- I just can't imagine that I could've never met you, if it wasn't for your dad... - Serra whispered, slightly shaking his head and reaching with his hand to touch the shoulder of his vis-à-vis as if to make sure she was still real.
- But I made it to this day nonetheless, - brunette shrugged and smiled warmly.
After a few more minutes of silence Luis easily got to his feet and stretched out his hand to Jessica, helping her to get up. Then he pulled her towards the "natural pool", not letting go of girl's hand. The water, however, was not yet fully warmed up, but it already felt quite pleasant. And it was much, much warmer than in the mountain creeks in the wilderness of Valdelobos, as the Spaniard mentally noted.
As soon as Jessy was knee-deep in the water, she stopped for a while and took a deep breath, taking some time to adjust to the temperature. And then, gently freeing her hand from Serra's hold, she pushed off from the sandy bottom and slid into the water with a soft exclamation. The first dive after a long break was always a little uncomfortable for her and required some efforts. After taking a couple of strokes, the girl swiftly turned over on her back, exposing her face to the sun and letting the water catch her. Fortunately, there were no big waves this time.
Luis followed suit right away, relaxing on his back close by and just occasionally touching his girlfriend's hand or shoulder with his own. His pose was an expression of a tacit agreement for "no active long-distance swims yet".
After floating in the water like this for a little, they slowly swam together to the stone borderline that separated this small lagoon from the open sea. The couple settled there, enjoying beautiful views of the sea or their secluded beach.
Jessica, in gentle reverie, admired how small waves rolled over hardly visible rocks in the water and crashed on the shore. And Luis, amazed by the transparency of the water, tried to look at the bottom of their improvised pool — his gaze was captivated by nimble fish, colorful starfish, colonies of shellfish and corals. Suddenly, an unusually shaped shell lying a little further away caught his eye, and Serra decided to dive for it to get a better look. It took him a few tries, and it also got Jessy's attention. Finally resurfacing with the loot, Luis turned the find over in his hands, then handed it to his girl. She put the shell on the palm of her hand, but suddenly, with an ouch, shook off the object of study into the water.
- What's wrong? - Serra asked, with concern evident in his voice.
- Something pinched me, - the brunette was obviously embarrassed by her own reaction. - Not that it hurts much, more like I just didn't expect it...
The Spaniard examined Jessy's palm for possible damage, then looked for this shell again. When he spotted it, he carefully knelt down, plunging into the water almost up to his shoulders, and took the shell out, turning its aperture to the light. Something with pincers was clearly stirring inside.
- Oh, so it's one of the Paguroidea species, - Luis smiled involuntarily. - I didn't think they can be found here too. - A hermit crab? - Jessica instantly forgot about her palm and, literally hanging on the Spaniard's shoulders, stared curiously at the shell resident, who was clearly dissatisfied with such intense attention. - This is the first time I've ever seen one, not on TV, not in the aquarium and not in the encyclopedia. Awesome!
- They are usually not aggressive to bigger opponents, - Serra nodded, watching how a representative of marine fauna menacingly moved its claw. - We seem to have just scared this one. - Let's put it back to its natural habitat then, - Jessica expressed their shared thought, adding with a chuckle. - As long as it doesn't come back to bite our heels for this.
- It'll rather be glad that it was released and will not risk another encounter, - Luis laughed heartily, arranging the shell in the water closer to the stone barrier.
The girl also laughed at this joke and hugged her man as he swam closer to her again.
- You know, it's warmer around you, - the Spaniard suddenly remarked in a soft voice, returning the hug. - You're like a little sun with an aura of warmth. To hide her embarrassment at such a compliment, Jessy splashed this eloquent subject and, with a laugh, twisted out of his hands, trying to swim away. This unexpected childishness resulted in a small water duel, which ended in a draw. Or, as the girl proclaimed: "friendship always wins!" - after which, with her arms outstretched, she fell backwards into a small wave, raising a cloud of salty spray... only to be almost immediately back in the firm embrace. Luis was glad that his crazy idea worked and his querida is still able to enjoy simple things. Even after such great loss. Only the shadow of guilt lurking in her hazel eyes kept him a bit worried. He himself had only one night *then*. Afterwards there was no time: his studies and the need to provide his living completely absorbed even hints of free time for several years. He managed, and developed the mask of “a good-for-nothing guy, who happens to be quite a ladies' man”. And under that mask there was an acute, painful sense of guilt: he was not there, he could not help, he did not prevent... Now his own experience seemed to be quite useful. Luis could roughly imagine the direction of his girl's thoughts, and see where it would be possible to intervene and lend her a shoulder. After all, even the strongest and most hardy at some point may break down.
- Let's go back to the shore and get some sun? - the brunette, who went quiet in his arms, offered hesitantly.
Her fingers were absentmindedly tracing some patterns on his chest, and it was... rather pleasant.
- I like the idea, mi vida, - Serra planted soft kiss on his girlfriend's temple and pushed her in the right direction. - A snack would be nice too.
The sea did not quite share their intentions, trying to knock the pair down, like a too playful puppy would, and then drag them back into its depth. Thankfully, it was much easier to get out together.
After drying off with beach towels, the couple paid the closest attention to their food supplies. Sandwiches with cheese and dates were delicious, although the sea air usually made everything tastier anyway. And Luis was very surprised, when Jessica took out a thermos with green tea - the most unexpected and uncommon option for a picnic on the beach. However, it turned out that she forgot to take mugs, and they only had the lid of the said thermos at their disposal.
- One for two is a great option, - Serra stated with a playful grin, deliberately taking a sip so that his lips touched this "mug" in the same place as his companion's.
- I'm glad that we share this opinion, - the girl returned both the gesture and the smile. - An orange for a dainty?
- Sure! - the Spaniard grabbed their improvised mug with his left hand so that Jessica could peel the citrus, but then his shoulder was pierced by a sharp pain and his fingers went numb and weak, forcing the man to hiss through clenched teeth. - Mierda...
The girl with a soft cry threw another small towel over the spilled tea and scurried behind Luis's back. He was clutching his hurting limb to his chest and it was such a vivid and unexpected reminder of the past injury.
- Guess, I've overestimated my condition... - the Spaniard's voice sounded strained.
- The doctor warned me that you might still have twinges like this from time to time, - Jessy's hands confidently glided over his aching muscles, starting from the upper back, stroking, pressing harder, kneading carefully. - He was talking about build-up of scar tissue as a possible cause. Now, it should get better... And the pain really subsided, yielding slowly to firm but gentle touches. When Serra's back finally relaxed under her fingers, brunette sighed with relief and pressed a small kiss upon that creepy scar. She remembered how they had to cauterize the wound with the same plaga removal laser, wrecking all the settings and restoring them again to get rid of those parasites. All because there was nothing left to sew up the wound with.
Shaking off those memories, girl wrapped her arms around Luis, pulling him a bit closer. He, in response, covered the palms that settled on his chest with his own and slightly leaned back, sinking into that warm embrace. - Gracias, querida mía, - his fingertips slid over her forearms in a tender caress. - I hope I didn't scare you too much... - I was more scared when you passed out on the operating table in your own lab, under my hands, - the girl admitted with a nervous laugh, carefully moving to her former place next to Luis and snuggling against his side. - As of today... Thank goodness, that the tea was not boiling hot. We'll do just fine without any burns.
After calming down a little, she finally peeled an orange, handed it to the Spaniard and reached for the second one, this time for herself. She noticed the fact that Serra was willing to share only when a slice of orange was already touching her lips. Jessica did not turn down the treat, followed by the man's fingers weightlessly brushing over her lips, his warm palm resting comfortably on her cheek. She smiled and leaned slightly into Serra's touch, turning her face to him for a kiss with an orange-salty taste.
The kiss was short though and when their lips parted, the couple just finished their snacks and went to lie down on the beach mat, snuggling side by side. Pebbles rustled softly, carried by the waves along the bottom, gulls cried in the sky, sunlight caressed the skin... Luis and Jessy were having fun cloud-gazing, sunglasses in place. Strings of fantastic images floated through the sky above them, driven by the wind: a large turtle, a dancing couple, a kitten playing with a ball of yarn, "Enterprise NCC-1701", that space station "Babylon 5", a sailboat, a dragon, an archer...
Soon the wind changed and brought in black clouds. Noticing this, Jessica reluctantly offered to call it a day and, as soon as their swimsuits were completely dry, slowly move towards their temporary home. Even if it wasn't supposed to rain, weather forecasts did not always pass the reality check.
To pass the wait a little, the girl sat up and reached for a small pointed pebble. She drew several lines on a larger flat stone with it. To Luis's surprise, these lines stood out on the black surface in a gray-brownish color, though the pebble was black too. The first clumsy lines were gradually turning into a simple silhouette of a lighthouse above the sea.
- Hey, you're good, - the Spaniard smiled upon seeing the final picture.
- Nah, I can't draw, - the girl dismissed his comment with ease, throwing her pebble "pencil" into the wave that ran ashore. - That's just my itchy fingers, nothing more.
- I dare to disagree on this statement, - Serra squinted slyly, taking the flat stone with a drawing from the brunette's hand before she sent it into the water too. - A little more practice, and it will no longer be "good", but "excelente".
In response, Jessica vaguely shrugged and, picking up another handful of dark pebbles, consistently sent them into the water, immersing in her thoughts. However, she was not allowed to stay like that for a long time and was soon distracted. Drying off after sea bathe, her hair fluffed up a little, curling and framing Jessy's face with a light-brown halo, trying to get into her eyes and mouth. Second distraction was Luis, who plucked a long blade of grass, and took part in the fun mini-game "tickle-a-friend". The Spaniard was quickly caught doing this, but at a reproachful stare, he just smiled broadly and stretched out his hand to smooth his companion's disheveled hair, which only resulted in another hug.
With all this childishness in action, time to go back home came swiftly. Their swimsuits finally dried out, the wind grew stronger, the sea became stormy... Luis and Jessy had to hurry up with packing, yet the first drops of rain caught them almost at the forest edge. Luckily, it gave them a chance to hide from such weather under the green dome of branches, at least for a while.
They still had to run from the forest to the bus stop to avoid getting soaked to the skin. However, it didn't help much. But when Luis and Jessy got back to the neighborhood where they lived at the moment, it looked like there was no rain there at all. After exchanging puzzled glances and quickly assessing their appearance a la "we went swimming in our clothes", they both burst out laughing. That attracted the attention of a passerby who turned out to be one of Jessy's distant relatives. And that man didn't hesitate to express his disapproval for such behavior of the girl in mourning for someone as significant as her own brother. Jessica visibly stiffened from being scolded, her guilt rearing its ugly head again. Serra noticed this change in his girlfriend's mood, and realized that he neither can nor should tolerate it. He stepped forward, as if trying to shield his girl from unpleasant conversation with his body. It was hard to contain his anger, but Luis mustered the calmest tone he was capable of at the moment. He was not aiming for a fight after all.
- I don't know about you lot, but I personally prefer that miss Jonzz here stayed among living, - he added more menacing undertone to his voice, pinning the other man with a slightly disgusted glare. - And not cried herself into heart attack or cardiac arrest just to maintain someone's else believes of how it's appropriate to grieve.
This rebuke somehow silenced an uninvited do-gooder and forced him to beat a hasty retreat. As soon as this person disappeared from sight, Serra turned to face brunette and gently pushed her chin up with one hand just to meet her unsure hazel eyes with his steel gray ones.
- It's not your fault, Jess, - Spaniard's tone was all about firm, but gentle care mixed with a tint of worry. - You are absolutely allowed to take care of yourself under any circumstances. Remember that, por favor.
- I know, - Jessy tried to smile, almost successfully, and to shook off the dreadful feeling of guilt's filthy paws reaching to claim her soul. - I... I'm okay. Let's go, Luis?
- Sure thing, cariño, - with a wide smile Serra swung his hand over girl's shoulders and pulled her into the right direction. - Our new cats must be waiting us already!
The cats were really waiting, and their patience was finally rewarded. Chirrups, squeaky little trills and cute meows filled the space of the murky apartment, making both Luis and Jessy smile and giggle at such enthusiasm. In fact, little calico cat and his gray brother acted like they knew that right now their humans needed all the positive attention they could provide. Gray one even tried to climb up Serra's leg, but was quickly and gently picked up and placed over Spaniard's shoulder. Meanwhile calico cat sniffed and licked at Jessica's ankles, as soon as she took off her shoes, of course.
- Hey, fur baby, it tickles, - brunette laughed and knelt down to pet this welcoming committee. - I know, I know: you and your little brother missed us.
Smiling to another almost shy meow, Jessica stood up and, after asking Luis if he didn't mind, headed to the shower, to wash off sea salt and sand still stuck on her skin. Serra wished he could join, but this bathroom was too small for two, so he stayed behind to occupy cats' attention instead.
He scooped up the second cat and sank into the nearest (and only) armchair. Those cats, although young, were very skilled at common cats' things, and they've purred their new man into light sleep in no time. When Jessy was done, she came right to a snooze-town. The sight was heartwarming and peaceful, but to shower was a must, so the girl had to wake Luis up.
Brunette watched her loved one go, yawning and carefully pulling off his shirt on the way. Cats yawned in sync and jumped down from the armchair. The movement caught Jessy's eye and she noticed a book with colorful cover lying on the floor. She changed from her bathrobe into T-shirt and funny shorts with TMNT print, then reached to pick that book up and smiled fondly at it's name: “50 best baking recipes from around the world”. It was her gift for her brother's last birthday. This memory made Jessy's heart sank again, and she quickly flipped through a few pages to detach herself from this sorrow for just a bit longer. The girl checked out some recipes and stopped at one, baked churros. It seemed pretty easy to cook, and all ingredients were present in the fridge.
- Oh, temptations... - Jessica sighed softly after considering some other options from this book.
- Are you talking about me, mi amor?
Her train of thought was interrupted by Luis, refreshed and relaxed... and wearing only a towel around his hips. His hair still slightly wet from the shower and his smile as charming as usual - a real eye candy.
- And about you, too, - Jessy couldn't help, but smile in response.- But, actually, I've been thinking about trying this recipe... What do you think?
- Sounds great, - Serra pushed the damp hair out of his face and headed to change into something more suitable, than a towel. - Wait for me.
He was rather fond of this idea for even more quality time together, and it worked out pretty well.
As the late day gradually turned into early evening, sorrow, that was almost perceptible the day before, finally shrunk and hid in the darkest corner of the apartment. Combined efforts of Luis and two impish kitties left no chances for it to overtake again.
The rest of the evening went pleasantly and peacefully, with tea and home-baked churros, and heartwarming talks on the sofa. Cats tried their best too, singing cats' songs, kneading and even clawing lightly at their humans' limbs. And after a while tiredness, mixed with loud purring lulled Jessy to sleep.
Tight embrace of her beloved Spaniard, his steady heartbeat, and her feeling secured helped the matter too.
Luis smiled gently at the girl lying in his arms, and closed his eyes too, drifting off to sleep. Both cats immediately seized the opportunity to pin their humans to the sofa for more feline comfort, and the apartment went silent.
This spontaneous beach day turned out to be the much needed breather for Jessy. A little something to make future look brighter and less hopeless for her, even with all those unwanted changes. It was easier to believe now, that she won't be struggling with everything on her own. And it became plainly obvious that she was not alone anymore. They were not alone.

Sitting down on Earth’s sand was something that he had to get used to. The texture of his own world differed much to that one: softer in comparison and yet more compact. It confused his senses but left him happy as time passed. Blue shorts soaked on the sea side’s waters, his legs spread and the weight of the other against him as he hugged him tight with fists pinned against the towel above the sand, thumbs fidgeting around as his gaze followed Garrett’s attempt at hitting on a girl and chuckling to himself as he wanted no more than to tell him she was out of his league. “Thanks for the beach trip, I barely take them myself.” @ragtagrunaways
#ragtagrunaways#human wave#tell me if you want something different#your choice of muse but i guess it's probably going to be a fellow dad XD

A Sandy Solution – Turkish Beach Towels that Repel Sand
As summer approaches, you may find yourself visiting a beach or two. But one of the most annoying parts of any beach visit is dealing with all the sand – it gets everywhere! If you're looking for an easy way to combat this problem, look no further than Turkish beach towels. These specially designed towels are made from material that repels sand, so you can enjoy your day at the beach without the hassle of sandy messes. Let's explore why these towels are the perfect solution to your sandy problems.
Material Matters What makes Turkish beach towels special is their unique material. Instead of cotton or linen like other traditional towels, these special towels are made with a blend of Turkish cotton and polyester microfiber. This combination creates a durable material that not only repels sand, but also dries quickly and is lightweight enough to be easily carried around on your beach adventures.
Functionality & Comfort At first glance, Turkish beach towels may seem small compared to regular-sized cotton ones; however, they can actually hold more water than larger-sized cotton towels! They are also incredibly soft and comfortable against your skin – perfect for drying off after a swim in the sea or lounging around in the sun. Plus, they come in all sorts of fun colors and patterns, so you can express your style while staying comfortable and sand-free! Easy Care & Storage Since these special towels are made with quick-drying materials, there's no need to worry about them getting musty when wet; plus they don't require much care either! Unlike traditional cotton towels which require frequent washing and drying cycles to stay fresh and absorbent, Turkish beach towels require minimal effort to keep clean; just hang out in direct sunlight until dry then store away for next time – simple as that! In addition to being easy-care, these compact little wonders also make great travel companions since they can fold up small enough to fit into almost any bag or suitcase without taking up too much room.
When it comes time for your next trip to the beach, don't forget about Turkish beach towels! They offer all sorts of benefits; from being lightweight and easy-care to quick-drying and sand repelling – plus they look great too! So if you're ready for a summer free from sandy messes then grab yourself a few Turkish beach towels today - they'll make sure you have nothing but smooth sailing during your next seaside holiday!

When we were kids our Nana lived near the beach, so the whole summer would be going down for a swim and then digging holes in the sand for several hours. With our hands, because we weren't lugging equipment down beyond towels. I still remember the visceral satisfaction of our best ever hole. It was about a foot wide and about ... I'm not sure, about two or three feet deep, however deep was our full arm length when we wedged our heads sideways to get our shoulders in. It was scraped out by hand, fully compacted on all sides, and in hindsight a serious risk of injury to anyone who didn't know it was there. It still broke my heart to have to fill it back in.
We also used to dig tunnels, again by hand, and the point was to dig it deep enough to not collapse and then try to head sideways to join up with someone else's. The sensation when you first met their wiggling fingers digging towards you through crumbling sand is, again, very viscerally embedded in my brain.
Digging holes good, is the summary here. Heh.
i think it is unjust to deny a child their right to dig a hole motivelessly

Turkish Cotton Supremeweight Beach Towel: The Ultimate in Luxury and Comfort
When it comes to beach towels, the Turkish Cotton Supremeweight Beach Towel is a standout product in both quality and luxury. Known for its soft, absorbent, and durable fabric, Turkish cotton is revered worldwide for creating some of the finest towels. The Supremeweight version takes this experience to the next level, offering an unparalleled level of comfort and performance.
The most notable feature of the Turkish Cotton Supremeweight Beach Towel is its weight. Unlike traditional beach towels that can feel thin and flimsy, this towel offers a thicker, more substantial feel that is perfect for lounging or drying off after a swim. The dense fibers make it highly absorbent, ensuring that you stay dry quickly while offering a plush, cozy surface to lay on. It’s ideal for spending long hours by the beach or pool, whether you’re relaxing or engaging in various water sports.
Moreover, Turkish cotton is known for its long, silky fibers, which contribute to the towel’s durability. The Supremeweight Beach Towel resists fraying and wear over time, making it a reliable companion for years. Despite its heavier weight, the towel remains lightweight enough for easy folding and portability, a feature that makes it perfect for beach vacations, poolside relaxation, or even a spa day at home.
Sport Towels With 2 Printed Borders: Style Meets Functionality

One of the standout features of these towels is their absorbency. Made from high-quality cotton, they quickly soak up sweat, keeping you dry and comfortable throughout your workout. The 2 printed borders not only enhance the towel’s appearance but also provide a non-slip surface when draped over equipment or used for seating during exercise. These functional yet fashionable towels are perfect for athletes and fitness enthusiasts who demand both performance and style.
The design of the Sport Towels with 2 Printed Borders is another key factor. Available in various colors and patterns, these towels offer a unique touch to your gym gear or sports kit. Whether you prefer bold, vibrant hues or more subdued tones, there’s a towel that fits your style. Their compact size makes them easy to carry and store, making them an ideal accessory for active individuals who need quick access to a towel on the go.
