Cycles exist because they are excruciating to break. It takes an astronomical amount of pain and courage to disrupt a familiar pattern. Sometimes it seems easier to just keep running in the same familiar circles, rather than facing the fear of jumping and possibly not landing on your feet. It Ends With Us.

“Whoever coined the phrase, I love you to death obviously never experienced the kind of love Tate and I share. If that were the case, the phrase would be I love you to life. Because that’s exactly what Tate did. She loved me back to life.”

🎥 Filmkritik: Nur noch ein einziges Mal - It Ends with Us 🎥

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐔𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐌𝐀𝐉𝐎𝐑 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧.
Blake Lively's promotion of the film as a romantic comedy, along with her shameless self-promotion of her hair care line and appearances with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, clearly indicates she has not truly engaged with the deeper themes and subject matter of the original book.
In stark contrast, director Justin Baldoni has approached the project with the proper gravity and intent. He recognizes that the book's core focus is on the sensitive and important issue of domestic abuse and violence. Baldoni has made it his mission to faithfully translate that vision to the screen and use the platform to raise awareness.
Sadly, it seems Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds, have hijacked the project. They have apparently subordinated the book's weighty themes in favor of turning it into a more commercial, star-studded affair. Many of the book's most impactful and nuanced elements appear to have been left on the cutting room floor.
This is a tremendous disservice to the source material and the important message it sought to convey. Lively and Reynolds should be ashamed of themselves for prioritizing their own fame and interests over doing justice to the book's powerful exploration of domestic abuse.
