Cole has always been a little funny when it comes to you dating.
The two of you have known each other a long time - since you were a scrawny little 7 year old new to town, getting shoved around the playground for fun until someone took it too far, and Cole ended up being the one sat in the nurse's office with you, holding a bleeding rag to your nose and waiting for your mom to come pick you up for concussion protocol.
He's been looking out for you ever since, and you'd always assumed it was that same protectiveness that had him acting up whenever you got into any sort of relationship with any other guy.
He'd checked your first kiss into the boards at a junior hockey tournament, a kid almost twice his size - but that didn't matter to Cole, warning him away from you with a padded elbow to his side after he had heard that you weren't the only girl he was going around kissing.
Your first serious boyfriend had a similar fate when Cole had watched him flirting with another girl in class when you were off sick, telling you that same night when he had brought your textbooks from your locker, promising to knock his teeth out if you wanted him to. You'd shrugged it off - and it wasn't that you didn't believe Cole, but you'd never seen your boyfriend display that sort of behaviour, at the time - and later down the line, when it had ended in tears and drama, a stray puck might have flown his way when the two of them shared the ice, bruising his ribs and putting him out of action for a couple of weeks.
He promised, after that, to be less physical about it, but he never stopped looking out for you.
And what was once petulant and slightly, problematically, violent became solid and reassuring, because Cole Caufield never says I told you so, despite all the times he could.
And that's what led you to moving into his place when your last relationship imploded - Cole offering you his spare room for as long as you needed it, promising that you weren't a burden, and needn't be in any rush to look for other living arrangements. Even after he had warned you exactly what kind of guy your ex boyfriend was, having treated his teammate's sister the exact same way, he still held your hand through the aftermath.
To say you're grateful is an understatement.
Living with your best friend is great. He's good company, he's clean, he keeps the refrigerator stocked, and he's the perfect reminder of home - warm in his affections and cozy in his presence, with a playful smile that sometimes takes you straight back to those chairs in the nurse's office, to him telling you that you still looked pretty even with blood crusted all over your face.
It's the kind of comfort that makes it easy to get over the rest, to forget boyfriends who cheat and lie, and only remember the love of your best friend, who always leaves coffee in the pot and comes home from his morning skates with breakfast bagels in hand.
You're expecting an empty house for most of the day when you wake up in the late morning - a quiet, serene lull in the air and the heat cranked up in his absence - but when you shrug on a hoodie - no doubt one of his - and your slippers, and pad through to the living room to seek out Olive, you're surprised to find Cole there, too.
"You're home!" You smile as you round the couch, distracted all of a sudden by the array of blankets on the floor, with a spread of pillows at the top. The blinds are half drawn, the late morning sun blocked and giving a moody glow to the room, and Olive sits just behind him, pretty much begging for her routine cuddles.
"Yeah, I didn't feel right leaving you alone on Valentines," he scratches awkwardly at the back of his neck, thick muscles tensing in his arms as he winces nervously your way. "I thought since we both had nowhere to be today, we could make a day of it. Just the two of us, like old times."
"Aw, Cole," you pout, "You didn't have to stick around just for my sake, Olive already promised me a romantic stroll in the park, later."
He chuckles, that same sweet smile that settles like a familiar weight in your stomach, like a soothing hot tea or a home-cooked meal. "Maybe I'll come with, considering my plans for the day are being walked all over."
"What do you mean?"
"I set up a den, like we used to make, and I figured we could watch a movie, but I couldn't find any of the snacks you like at the store, it was all like fancy and heart-shaped, and I didn't know if you'd really want that. So I bought you a cookie but uh," he looks back at Olive, who looks between the two of you with an unassuming, innocent gaze, sugar-cookie crumbs dusted across her whiskers where she hasn't quite reached to clean them yet, "I guess I tempted fate leaving it on the coffee table."
"You didn't get her one, too?" You giggle, stepping toward the dog and kneeling beside her, scratching at the back of her head in the way she likes until she nuzzles into your familiar touch and you coo at her, "That's not like him, he forget his number one girl, huh?"
"Well, I figured if either of you needed a pick me up today of all days, it wasn't the pampered pooch."
"I'm alright," you smile as you stand back up, edging toward him with open arms, "But I'll take you up on a den-day. This is really sweet."
He wraps his arms straight around you as soon as you're close enough, pressing his chin to your temple and twisting his lips into the side of your head. "Anything for my number two girl."
"Please don't call me that," you snort, sensing the way his cheeks puff out into a smile and playfully pushing him away.
"You brought that on yourself," he chuckles, "What do you say we go on a snack hunt, leave Olive to do zoomies from her sugar rush so she's not bouncing all over us on the floor?"
"You could have stopped at snack hunt," you smile softly, edging past him in search of your thickest winter coat - ready to brave the Montreal weather in search of popcorn and chocolate, and maybe even something heart-shaped to fill the void, because all of a sudden, you are in a loving mood. "I don't need any other excuse to go anywhere with you."
Cole nods, following your lead and grabbing his coat straight from the hook next to yours.
You don't know how you end up holding his hand the whole way around the store, the two of you foregoing a cart so that you can just get as much as you can carry - or why you're still holding it over the centre console as he drives the two of you home, heart shaped lollies pushing into both of your cheeks.
But maybe you need to stop questioning things when it comes to how you love Cole, and just accept that maybe he always knows exactly what's right when it comes to you and relationships.

that’s my man
Tumblr media
Word Count - 7200
Summary: Cole loves to train, and it’s no secret that’s how he’s number three on the Grind ‘24 list. But it’s also no secret that in the summer he loves taking his girl with him to the gym. But what happens when the new check-in doesn’t get the memo that Cole is in fact taken.
Warnings: jealous girlfriend, easily embarrassed boy, talks of different kinks, VERY sub male, dom female, praising kink, thigh riding
Author's Note: I don’t know a lot about lifting, but I know enough to write this. Also if you're someone who goes to the gym regularly. They are doing a full-body day because you can fight me on it but it’s actually better as far as recovery time. As per usual, I was too lazy to do a full grammar edit, so sorry in advance. Anyway, thank you for reading as always.
Masterlist
One of your favorite things to do in the summer was go to the gym with your boyfriend. Honestly, you don’t know what it was that made it your favorite summer activity. Maybe it was because you knew Cole cheered you on like no other when you beat a PR. Maybe it’s because he’s one of the only humans who you truly trust as your spotter knowing that man will injure himself before anything happens to you. Maybe it was that somehow he always wears the same damn white snapback and tightest shorts he has. Maybe it was because you loved being able to tease him in between sets. Maybe it was the fact that you were able to just stare at him while his muscles tensed to lifting the heavy weights. If you were being honest with yourself it was probably a mixture of all the above that made you happily jump your ass in the car before him when he asked if you wanted to come.
This time was no different when Cole walked into the kitchen and hugged you from behind as he asked if you wanted to go to the gym with him. You happily agreed, especially since you couldn’t go the other day with him due to your work schedule. Quickly nodding your head yes, you ran upstairs to get some leggings on, crew socks because you liked lifting in socks, and a random Montreal crop top with 22 on the sleeve. Once you were done, you threw some vans on and went downstairs to meet Cole in the car. He already had the AC blasting and music on. As soon as you buckle your seatbelt, he is pulling off and handing you your water bottle he filled up. “Here you go Mamas” he shyly says, rarely does he call you by that name and whenever he does it makes himself blush. Deciding to reward him for the pet name you reach over and lightly kiss his cheek.
“Thank you, baby boy.” you can’t help your smile grow as his cheeks get even more red.
It’s like time escapes you and before you know it Cole’s parking the car.  Both of you are shuffling out of the car. Cole waits for  you at the back of the car and flexes his hand, you know he wants you to hold his hand but he won’t say it out loud. A large part of you loves how shy he still is even after almost a year together. Slowly you reach for his hand that isn’t holding your water bringing it to your lips and leaving a small kiss. “Happy baby?” you ask shyly, he didn’t have to answer you already knew the answer. As you watched his cheeks stay that light red color, and smile shyly down to you.
Once you're inside you hear someone call Cole’s name, you turn your head to see it’s a girl you don’t recognize behind the desk. Cole starts to walk over, pulling you automatically due to your interlocked fingers. “Oh hey Chesley, nice to see you again.” Cole starts to make small talk with the girl and you can’t help but notice how she stands dipping over the counter trying to put her breasts on display. As if that’s not already too forward, she lightly touches Cole's upper bicep as his arm rests on the counter.
“I’ve been great, I’m so glad to see you again
you know after the other day.” Her voice makes your stomach hurt.
“What was the other day?” you ask even though you know ignoring this girl was probably for the best. The little jealousy that started to brew in your gut couldn’t help but want answers.
“Oh you know when you were working the other day. That’s when I met Chesley and you know how the locker room door gets stuck sometimes y/n/n, well she didn’t know how to get it unstuck and she had to use the bathroom” you nodded your head yes but your eyes never left the girls as she wouldn’t stop staring at you “- and I was the only one here so I helped her.” Cole sounded like he had no idea what he just walked into and he probably didn’t. “Oh wait let me introduce you guys - Chesley this is my girlfriend Y/N, Y/N, Chesley.”
“Hi nice to meet you.” you say your other hand is going to wrap itself around Coles arm that was still holding your hand. Not caring if it came off bitchy when you didn’t extend your hand especially since she hasn’t stopped batting her eyelashes at Cole since you got here.
“Hi. oh Cole well if you need anything I’ll be here. I know last time you forgot your water.” The way she said it slipped like it was some secret between them. But it did cause your face to wrinkle in confusion because it didn’t make sense.
“Water? Baby you never forget your water.” you say turning to him.
“I know, but I was leaving as my mom was calling and I guess I got distracted.” His cheeks are still a soft pink from earlier in the parking. You couldn’t help but smirk at how easily embarrassed Cole gets sometimes. As you glance back to the girl, you see her smirking thinking she’s the reason for Cole’s blush, and something twists in your stomach.
“It’s okay because I let him drink from mine. Plus you earned it shoving that door open after your
Hard workout” As she reached up to touch his arm again. Cole must have finally realized what was happening and pulled away. He really isn’t big on physical touch from people he doesn’t know and the fact he pulled away makes you smirk.
“Well we're gonna go see ya” you don’t even pretend to be nice as you pull Cole away. You can feel her eyes following you to the turf as you put one earbud in, put on your playlist, and shove off your shoes.
“Hey mamas, do you want me to spot you first?” he asks as he sets his water down, as you shake your head no. Handing him the other earbud and he quickly puts it in his ear.
“It’s okay Cole you can go first today, I need to stretch anyway.” Cole can tell by your voice that something is wrong but decides not to push it. He walks over to the barbell that’s on the floor, adding the proper amount of weight while you finish your dynamic stretching. As you look up you can see Chesley starring at Cole while he sets the bar.
Possessive isn’t a word you would normally use to describe yourself but as you feel your jaw set with her watching your boyfriend shamefully as he bends down to make sure the weights are fully locked in. Something about this girl shamelessly staring at his thighs makes you want to claim Cole, mark him as yours even though she already knows he is. You glance over at Cole as he moves the bench to behind the bar, knowing that means he’s decided to start with hip thrusts. Cole starts his set of twelve reps, slowly raising his hips each time, you can’t help but let your mind wander as you finally start to make your way over to him. Once he’s done with his first set he sits up shoulders resting against the back of the bench, the bar rolling stopping barely mid thighs. You come up to him from behind, separating your legs so they’re on either side of him and sit down on the bench. Your hands remove his snapback teasingly put it on yourself. “Hey give it back.” he says in a fake annoyed voice. His head tilting back so he can see you with a pout on his lips. Both of you know however that his announce and pout are fake and that he likes when you wear his clothes even if it’s just a simple hat. Your fingers lightly scrap at his head, his body automatically relaxing under your touch. His hands move away from where they were resting on the bar, to moving to the sides of your calves pushing you closer to him as he sinks into your legs. “Feels good love.” softly closing eyes, letting himself get lost in your comfort for a few seconds. Although you love this little moment you're having, the jealousy in you, can’t help but glance up at Chesley, as she quickly averted her eyes as you make eye contact.
“Alright my time for my set.” you say as you remove your fingers from his hair and place his hat back to keep his hair out of his face. As you find both you moving around the gym, you still find the girl’s eyes following your boyfriend. Later when you were benching you could feel her eyes like a bad itch on your skin. Cole being your spotter could feel you start to slip as you were doing reps until failure.
Cole hand was right there ready to help you if you felt like you needed as you finished one last rep. But once he saw you second guess the last pushup he didn’t give you a choice. “I got you baby.” as he gently helped you lift the bar to lock it in the stand.
“I am proud of you know, you realize you just benched as much as Luke does. AND you got more reps in than him the other day!” with a small chuckle.
“Yeah well he’s barely been in the gym all summer so nothing to celebrate.” you mumble annoyed at yourself.  As you watch your boyfriend bend his head over the bar to look at you, slightly frowning at your pout.
“Okay so he’s a lazy fucker we knew this. But do you want to hear the lecture about how insane it is that you're a girl and your muscle density isn’t-” you pull Cole down with a smile on your face and kiss him upside down.
“What’s that for?” he mumbles, not fully pulling away.
“To shut you up but also thank you.” you mumble as you pull away you see Cole’s cheeks bright red and as you sit up you see Chesley looking at you both from the check-in desk again.
This isn’t your proudest moment and you're not sure if it’s you being frustrated that your spotter actually had to rescue you or just Chesley staring all morning at your boyfriend. But you decide at that moment, to turn on the PDA even more which is wild because you and Cole never have this much PDA in general. It’s almost impossible to find pictures of you online together kissing or even cuddling because you both respect your privavy and like keeping intimate moments private. Slowly you started with little touches as Cole set the weights on the rack for himself. He was so focused on what he was doing barely even noticing at first. But as you glanced up you could tell she took notice and you couldn’t help the smirk on your lips.
Eventually, Cole did catch on to the fact that you would let your fingers ever so slightly graze his arm, or touch his thigh after a set. Everytime, he did you could feel him getting more shy and almost twitch away from your touch in shock. His cheeks looked like a lobster shade of red almost permanently from all the small touches you left behind.
Later as you were doing jump ups, making sure your ass was on full display for Cole. He got embarrassed when you put your ass practically in his face instead of easily going from the other side. “Sorry Coley” you whine out as you turn around and see the almost permanent blush on his face from today. Once you jump down from the box, take your hand and lightly rub it down his chest and slowly bite your lip trying to look innocent. His dick twitching in his compression shorts between all the touches and now you are looking at him with that look in your eyes.
“Hey are you okay, love. You’ve been off since we got here.” he asks suspiciously. The gulp he let out didn’t go past you. Part of you started to feel bad for doing this to your boyfriend all morning, but you also didn’t want to hear his reaction to your insecurities about the new girl.
“Yup peachy.” trying to make your voice a normal tone but failing miserably. He gives you that look that tells you he knows you're lying. But before he can open his mouth you sigh. “I might
be a little jealous.” you barely whisper as you hide your face with your hands and shove it into his shoulder. Naturally he wraps his arms around you, tightening his grip unconsciously as if it was the most natural thing in the world to hold you.
“Jealous of who?” he whispers, trying to keep his voice down to have a private moment despite being in a semi crowded gym. It wasn’t often you felt insecure or jealous and Cole knew that you probably didn’t want others to hear about you having an off day.As he looked down at you, finally you felt like showing yourself to him and  you removed your hands from your face.
“The new girl, she won’t stop staring at you and yeah I know you're hot. But I’m literally right here! She could at least pretend to respect me.” With each word your voice raises to more of an annoyance.
Cole shyly smirks “ okay let her” as he dips his mouth to your ear. “She’s not the one who’s made me hard right now.” You tilt your head up to him and take your hand to caress his check.
“Oh yeah?” you can’t help but tease him a little.
His mouth finds your ear again, “ yeah you have me almost begging you in the middle of the fucking gym how badly I need you.” He doesn’t bother removing his face from the crock of your neck, pressing his hard on to your thigh.
“Oh yeah.” your hand goes to the nape of his neck pushing closer. You hear him make a sound of agreement. “What do you want me to do baby boy?” At this point you should probably stop considering you're in the middle of the gym but you wanna see how far Cole is willing to go before he whines to go somewhere else.
“I just need you please, you can use me however the fuck you want I don’t give a fuck. But if I could choose I’d have you ride me as you used my cock to get yourself off. When my mouth plays with your boobs and you play with my hair while you tell me how good of a boy I’m being for you mamas.” Cole usually isn’t so forward with what he needs especially in public and it makes you drip at the thought of claiming him.
“Imma grab my shoes okay baby. Can you be a good boy and go to the car and wait?” you can feel him shake his head yes. “Okay good I’ll drive us home baby. I know you don’t wanna get caught by one of the boys as I’m fucking the shit out of you in the car.” You can hear him grunt as he pulls away from you pulling down the ends of his shorts trying to hide his hard-on. He backs away and turns towards the wall where you discarded your slip-on vans earlier and your water bottle. By the time you turn away Cole is already gone and you can’t help but smirk as you know he’s probably already in the car waiting for you with the AC already blasting.
You quickly make your way out of the gym but can’t help but hear Chesley try to get your attention. “Oh Y/N you're gone so soon! Is Cole not feeling well? He usually spends hours here
with the boys.” Trying to control your breathing but honestly you wanted to clock this girl but knew that Cole loved this gym, you took another deep breath. “Guess you don’t have the stamina that he does.” Her voice sounding like the scratching of nails on a chalkboard, although you control yourself not to hit her, your mouth isn’t as easily convinced.
“Actually Sarah was it? We just decided to get some cardio done at home instead. Cole didn’t think the owners would like it if we fucked in the middle of the turf.” Your voice comes out so sweet and innocent pretending that you have no idea why Cole would see anything wrong. You smiled as her mouth fell open, “well see ya around” as you walked out of the gym and quickly made your way to the car. Opening the driver's door you let yourself get settled in the seat, purposely not looking in Cole’s direction. You grab your airpod case and put your airpod away realizing that Cole already put the other one away.
As you adjusted the seat and mirrors to be able to drive home you could feel Cole’s eyes burning into the side of your face. Finally you decide to give him a little attention, “thanks for listening so well baby.” as you take your right hand off the wheel and put it on his thigh slowly moving your hand up and down. All of the teasing must have gotten to Cole more than you thought because he softly buckled his hips trying to get you to put pressure where he needed it most. “And just when I compliment you for being a good listener you try to be a brat.” Your mouth making a ticking noise of disapproval as you turn onto the highway heading back to Cole’s place.
“Please, i’m sorry” you can hear the pleading in his voice even though your eyes are 0n the road. It kind of hurts your heart a little denying Cole when he didn’t do anything wrong.
“I know baby boy, it’s okay, I’m not mad” you say as your hand inches closer to where he needs it. Coming up on your exit, both of you realize you're only ten  minutes away from his place. “What do you need?” you ask softly as your hand gently goes over his bulge and gives a light squeeze. His one hand was going to squeeze your wrist, the other that was leaning against the window flexing as he leaned his head back.
“I - I na need” you could tell Cole was getting overwhelmed and for once you were grateful you were close to home so he didn’t get too worked up before he could have his release.
“Do you want me to help you cum?” you ask, your hand still not removed from the bulge that as you glance over makes you squirm from how uncomfortable it looks like it is, Cole shakes his head no quickly.
“Nnn, no. I want you, I wanna taste you mamas.” His words have more of an effect on you than he even realizes. But sadly it logically doesn’t work if you're driving and Cole knows that too.
“Baby we're five minutes from home now okay and then you can have me I promise.” The hand that was on his bulge moved to his face and squeezed his cheek. The pout on his lips makes your knees feel weak. He shifts in his seat so that he can lean over so that his head is resting against your upper arm. Both of your hands now on the wheel for the first time this entire drive. It takes everything in you not to pull the car over and just take care of him right here but being so close to home it just doesn’t make sense.
“I know.” you hear Cole mumble, although you're not looking in his direction, you suspect that his eyes are closed and that he’s pouting. Removing your right hand from the wheel you find one of his and put it under your crop top. His head lifts up as he feels his hand move under your shirt.
“Mamas?" he asks in a questioning tone probably thinking about how obvious it looks to the people we pass as I turn into his neighborhood.
“It’s okay baby, you got tinted windows.” That's all it took for Cole to unbuckle his seatbelt so he could shift in his seat fully to face you. He dipped head under your crop top and you could feel him push up at your sports bra desperately as his mouth closed on your right boob and sucked. His right hand going across your chest to squeeze the other one. “Fuck bubs. Hmmm..” one hand busy turning on your street, while your other hand goes to press Cole’s head deeper into your chest. His mouth is swirling and sucking hard on your nipple now. Wanting him to know that he’s doing a job you let out a small moan. He moans in response with your nipple in his mouth, the feeling going straight to your core. “Coles were home” you whisper, quickly removing your hand to press the garage remote. Driving into the garage and parking. Cole still hasn’t moved from under your shirt but now that the car is parked at least you can let yourself get lost in the feeling.
Throwing your head back against the headrest and closing eyes. Your hand going under your shirt to pull at Cole’s hair, not sure where his hat disappeared to but grateful you were able to touch his hair finally. After a minute or so you became antsy to go inside. “Cole baby, it’s time to go inside.” you say in a semi-serious tone. All you hear from Cole is a grunt that you can assume means no as he squeezes your boob not his mouth harder. “Come on baby, we gotta go inside, you're acting like a brat bubs. Don’t you like being a good boy.” knowing exactly what to say for Cole to remove himself from under your shirt and start to move finally. As he pulls away, you catch him in a needy kiss, biting his lip by surprise easily taking control of the kiss. Deciding that you need to move away before you end up not leaving the car. Both of you rush out of the car, Cole running around the hood to meet you picking you up unexpectedly makes you chuckle as he sits on the hood of his car, quickly stepping between legs. He connects your lips again but quickly you take control of the kiss, Cole moaning in response. He pulls away after a minute to catch your breath, and he pulls on your shirt, refusing to use his words.
“Baby you know you have to use your words. What do you need bubs? You gotta tell me.” you say slowly encouraging Cole to use his words instead of pouting. He also knows when he uses his words 90 percent of the time he gets what he wants. But when he’s in this state of mind, of needing to be taken care of. He tends to struggle with using his voice, which actually turns you on even more but you will never admit that to him.
“Can I take it off mamas?” softly pulling at the fringe at the end of your shirt. He looks up in your eyes and you shake your head yes. He quickly grabs your shirt and rips it off the top of your head. Quickly making contact with your chest leaving soft wet kisses and soft bites everywhere but not hard enough to leave a mark. The feeling makes you lean your hands back to give him more access. “I wanna taste you.” he whimpers as he continues his attack on your chest slowly moving up to your neck.
Quickly you move your arms that were extended behind you to around his neck, crossing your legs behind him. “Take me upstairs, first baby boy.” you demand.
“Okay my love.” As he picks you up and turns you both so he can carry you up the few garage steps and into the house effortlessly. Both craving each other, you lean in and continue to deepen your previous kisses, quickly feeling more desire for eachother then before. Cole can’t stop whimpering as you pull at his small hairs at the back of head as he enters the bedroom. He softly places you on the bed, without breaking contact with your kiss. Both of you kick your shoes off as soon as you make contact with the bed. He slowly pulls away sitting up on his knees to catch his breath asking, “can I please eat you out now mamas.”
Cole usually doesn’t whine for this long, he also usually doesn’t have to wait this long for what he wants. As much as you want to to edge him on and push his limits. The idea of him sinking when he never has before makes you nervous. “Okay baby go ahead.” The smile on his face makes your stomach warm with anticipation. Lifting your hips, you help Cole take your leggings, underwear and socks off. Deciding to take your sports bra off as well.
“Wait bubs, you gotta take something off too” reaching forward you pull his shirt above his head. Slowly you scoot up on the bed to give him more room to lay down. Leaning against the headboard as Cole dips his head down giving you wet kisses, lightly nipping your soft skin on your stomach as he makes a trail to your pussy. Moving your legs to make more room for himself, keeping his hands on your thighs making sure they stay further apart to give him more access to your core. Slowly he dips his head down and looks up at you waiting for your direction. One of your hands is going to move the hair out of his face, “go ahead baby.”
That’s all it takes for him, to shove his mouth in your folds licking up and down as if his mouth had been in a drought for days and this was his first sight of water. He closed his eyes enjoying tasting you after begging for it for so long. His hands pressing down on your thighs pushing you closer to you. The hand that wasn’t playing with his hair, going to your boob to play with your nipple. “bubs feels good, always such a good boy for me.” you softly coo your encouraging words to your boyfriend. He decides to put your attention on your clit, moaning as he hears your breath catch in your mouth. The sensation going straight to your core, feeling yourself being worked up. Deciding that if you were gonna cum off of his mouth you needed a new angle. Pushing his face away, he got the message and pulled away, not without a small pout on his lips.
“Lay down on your back.” your demanding  tone leaving no room for argument. Quickly he laid down beside you, his head resting against the pillows. His leg twitching in nervousness not going past you, as you smirk down at him. Sitting on your knees beside him your hand goes to lightly go over his bulge in shorts. Knowing that it was mean but not caring as the idea came to you. “Bubs you're wearing too many clothes, I’m gonna take your shorts off.” Your fingers moving up to his lower stomach, pushing down in the start of his v-line making him whine a little in response. Then returning your hand to his bulge and giving a light squeeze, Cole bulks his hips in response not caring if he got punished for it. “Babyboy wait, then once you're undressed, I am gonna sit on your face and use your mouth to get myself off.” As you slowly start to pull at his shorts and boxers he lifts his hips automatically to help you. His brows frown, wanting to know what happens next.
Barely over a whisper he asks “ then what?”
“I’m gonna tease you, and suck you off until you're begging for me to ride you and let you cum inside me.” Lightly take your pointer finger and trace the vein that’s so visible on his dick. “Do you think you can handle that bubs?” you ask as you start to sit, getting ready to swing your leg over his shoulder.
“Ahmm.. yeah mamas”
“Good boy.” Finally, swinging your leg, before you lower yourself all the way down you ask “remember the sign if you need a break right.” making direct eye contact with his hazel-gray eyes. He shakes his head and with that you sit down, your hands resting on his chest for stability. Slowly you start grinding on his face. Cole’s hands go to the back of your thighs, kneading the flush there slowly creeping up to your ass, pushing you even closer to him. Quickly you find your pace, rolling your hands as Cole’s long tongue goes in and out of your core. The pleasure slowly starts to build, you increase the speed of hips rolling, basically just grinding on his face.
“Yeah right there baby. Don’t stop.” you encourage him. Your nails starting to dig into Cole’s chest, the little bit of pain Cole felt going straight to his dick. His hands are scratching down the back of your thighs. Starting to feel the familiar coil your stomach straightens to tighten. “Fuck I’m gonna cum, don’t fucking stop.” His nose starts to nudge at your clit, as Cole pushes you down making you sit completely on him. That being the final act being enough for the tight warm feeling your stomach to explode. “FUCK fuck I’m coming Cole. fuck” repeating it like a prayer, Cole only mildly slowing down his actions licking up all your juices as you work yourself through your orgasm. Finally, parting from his mouth you crawl down to his boxers.
“Did I make you feel good?” he shyly asks. God how you loved this man, and how he always needed to be reassured that he made you feel good.
“You did so good baby” you softly tell him, as you straddle him. His hands go to your hips pulling you closer as you bend down so your chest is flesh with him. Starting at his most sensitive spot on his neck, immediately getting his breath to catch in his throat. Smirking as you do kitten licks, finally putting your mouth on the spot and sucking making sure to leave a bruise. “Gotta make sure I mark you so that girl knows you're taken.” The jealous feelings from earlier today slowly rising in your chest again.
He squeezes his hands on the flesh of your hips at your words. “Mark me everywhere, cause you're the only one who I ever want to see me like this for the rest of time.” His cheeks immediately became bright red, you know that he didn’t mean to confess so much and it was in the heat of the moment. But you can’t help the butterflies form in your stomach. Kissing his cheek giving him nonverbal comfort for his confession.
Moving on you make your way down his chest, leaving hickies on the center of his chest. Licking down each of his abs, up and down and up again. Then softly biting each ab, probably leaving bite marks, Cole doesn’t seem to care as his moans grow into groans at the pleasure. “Ppp ple- please mamas.” almost as if he’s crying out.
Glancing up at him, you see how overworked he’s getting. “I taught you better than that bubs, use your words.” Your mouth doesn’t leave his lower stomach as you make eye contact with him through your lashes.
Cole takes a few seconds to collect himself as his hands up and down your shoulder blades, something you know he does when he’s feeling a lot of things and needs to ground himself. “Mamas it hurts.” he whines out taking another ragged breath. “Can you please help me cum.” He begs and you swear you could never say no to him when he asks so politely. You shake your head yes, and you kiss down the side of his v-line. Quickly making your way down, you leave little love bites and kitten licks up both of his thighs alternating between the two. Moving his legs so bent and open more giving you more room to down properly between them. Cole is a whimpering, moaning mess at this point. Each sound from his loops turning you on more and more. Finally making it his almost red tip, softly kissing and licking it between the slit. Cole automatically bulking his hips. Taking your hands you push down on each of his hips so he can’t move them any more. His heads going to your hair and you know that it’s going to be a matted mess but the end of this.
Taking your tongue, you start at the base and lick down the same vein you were teasing earlier. Then going back to kiss each of his balls which you know he would describe as ‘blue balls’ if you asked him. “Fuck mamas, feels so good” his eyes squeezed shut from the pleasure your finally giving him as your mouth puts the tip in your mouth. Softly sucking, slowly taking more and more until your softly choking. Cole usually isn’t this vocal in bed but you're loving how much he always moans and grunts when you take him in your mouth. His fingers threaded in your hair, as you moved the pace of your mouth. Cole never dares to push your mouth down, scared that he might accidentally hurt you since he knows he’s bigger than most. “Augh I- I am close” he whispers and he starts moving his hips unconsciously. Deciding to quicken your pace to help him cum faster, within minutes he’s crying out in pleasure and curse words as he shoots his cum into you. Continuing to suck until he comes all the way down, and tries to wingle out of your grasp scared over getting overstimulated. Finally you pop yourself off of him, a huge smile on your face as you look up on Cole as he looks properly fucked out, that glow on his skin as he pulls you up to his face. Softly he brings you into a kiss “Thank you mamas.” he whispers once he pulls away for air.
Kissing his neck softly, as he arms tighten around you. Sitting up stranding is lower stomach, you have a devilish smirk on your mouth. “no love I don’t think I can” Cole says knowing where your brain is going without you even saying it.
“Oh I think you can, but if you insist I know how to give you some rest while I still get what I want.”  your voice is cheekily teasing as you pull Cole to sit, sitting fully in his lap.
“What?” he softly asks his forehead resting on your shoulder.
“I'd rather show you.” as you move your leg so you're straddling just his right thigh. Taking your left hand resting it on his cheek to turn his head in your direction. Moving your head to crain of your neck, as you sit fully on his thigh grinding down. Bending down slowly whispering in his ear “what if I just use you again to get off, it wouldn’t be the first time I use your thigh.” His hands tightening on your hips, his grip so tight you would be shocked if you didn’t have little bruises on them later. He hums in response as you softly kiss the hickies you gave him earlier in the crook of his neck as you continue to softly grind on his thigh. “What do you think, you wanna watch me use you as I use you to get off. I’ll let you play with my boobs. While I use you to get off, I’m not evil bubs.” Softly moving down to the spot between his collarbone and neck biting hard as he groans in his pleasure.
“Fuck. Please” he mumbles as he softly puts his left boob in his mouth tightening his grip on your left hip. That’s all it took for you to roll your hips at a faster rate, alternating between rolls and purely grinding down on him. Breathing between both of you becoming uneven again, as you glance down to softly tease Cole’s cock as it’s already getting hard again. Cole softly bites down on your nipple, removing his mouth to hiss as you continue to softly tease him. “Do you want me to stop, I don’t know if I can get off watching you hard on. I'd rather be riding you.” letting you confess out quickly, your intrusive thoughts taking over as you slip off his thigh fully straddling him again teasing him with your hole.
“Yeah I need you mamas please.” as he rests his forehead. “Wanna feel your warmth mamas.” You softly kiss his pouty lips, as your core clench at his words, pulling away from kiss whispering yes. Sitting down on him getting used to him, throwing your head back in your mouth at finally feeling full. Cole starts making little kisses on your chest and down the valley on your breasts as you start to bounce softly on his dick. “I wanna make you feel good please.” as he looks up at you silently asking if he can continue his attack on your breasts.
“Go ahead baby boy.” that's all it took for him to put your nipple in your mouth, his hand kneading your other one, flicking and pinching the hard nipple. His hand on your hip shows the first sign of dominance from him today, by helping you keep an even pace. All that can be heard is your soft moans and skin slapping. Cole takes the hand that was kneading your boob to your ass kneading the flush until you're sure it’s bright red. His mouth going to your other boob deciding it needs attention. “Ugh ugh Cole fuck, you feel so good. You always fill me so well.” you voice is low, filled with your lust for the man you love. Your hand slips between the two of you to give your clit attention, rubbing small harder than normal circles on it. Your other hand moves to his hair, threading your fingers through his dirty blonde hair pulling at the roots. Cole’s mouth opened slightly at the pressure and groaned.
“Fuck bubs. You feel so fucking good, swear your dick was built for me.” His hand on your hip helps you fasten the pace. His hips help meet your thrusts, making him hit your g-spot with every thrust.  All you can do is moan as you feel your entire body on cloud 9 from the pleasure you're feeling. “Augh augh fuck baby, your always so good for me.” you slur out due to the pleasure you feel from the start of your lower stomach tightening.
Cole removes his head from your breast to ask “mamas i- i am gonna cum.”
“No” you demand. “Wait for me. I’mm close wait for me. Will let go together bubs.” leaning your head back as Cole leaves wet kisses down your collarbone, quickly removing the hand that was on your ass and lightly slapping it. “FUCK.FUCK. YES YES YES” you scream. Cole going back and slapping your ass a few more times, you can feel yourself about to let go.  “Let go baby, it’s okay.”
That’s all it took for Cole to lean back and moan in pleasure as he shot his cum filling deep in your pussy and you let go. Both not stopping your thrusts until you come completely now. Cole just holds you for the first time today, kissing down the top of your shoulder while you catch your breath. “I love when you use my body.” he softly admits.
“Oh yeah” your head softly setting into his neck. Although you can’t see him you can feel him shake his head. His fingers lightly ghosting up and down your back as he leans back so he’s laying down still on top of him.
“You're the only one who I’ve ever let dominate me.” he admits, your head lifting up in shock.
“What?” The confusion is clear in your voice.
“You heard me mamas. You're the only one I feel safe enough to give that type of control to.” He admits his cheeks become a light pink as he lets his words sink.
“Thank you baby. I love you.” as you leave soft kisses all over his face. Slowly you lift your hips to remove yourself, but his hands stop your hips.
“No, we stay like this. I like being close to you.” Turning your bodies so you're both on your sides as he looks directly into your eyes waiting for a response.
“Okay” you lightly let out, shifting again so you're on your back, Cole’s full body weight on you, as he settles between you. As your legs come up behind his back and hold him there. His face hiding in your breasts, softly kissing the valley of your breasts as he lets out a light thanks closing his eyes. He looks so comfortable you can’t help closing your eyes, your hands playing with his hair. Sleep almost grasps your consciousness. Cole's voice brings you out of sleepiness for a moment.
“Mamas.” in a questioning tone to see if you're still awake.
“Hmmm” still not bothering to open your eyes.
“For what it’s worth, I like when you get possessive over me.” His tone is as if he’s listing a well known fact, as he snuggles deeper into you as you can feel him pulling a blanket over the both of you. The laugh that escapes your mouth is contagious as you feel Cole’s chest rumble above you.
“Okay baby I’ll keep that in mind, let’s get some sleep.” you let out, little did you know Cole was already letting out little snores before you could finish your sentence.

Tumblr media
Summer. A time when you spent days at the Lake House with your family. You and your brothers, all together under one roof, much to the horror of your parents. It was a place where you brought heaps of friends to celebrate the offseason, spending the days on the lake and drinking until sunrise.
This year, your parents decided to let the four of you have the house to yourselves, allowing you and your siblings to invite friends to enjoy the free time. You, of course, invited your best friend, knowing the summer could only get better with her by your side. It also meant you two could get up to a little mischief.
Each of your brothers invited some teammates, past and present. Luke brought some UMich boys: Dylan, Mackie, Ethan, and Mark. Jack, of course, had some of the NTDP boys coming, who were also your friends: Trevor, Alex, Cole, Matt, and Patrick. Quinn mainly invited some of his Canucks teammates: Petey, Brock, and Kuzy.
Your boyfriend was among the hockey players invited to the Lake House this summer. Not that any of your brothers knew that. God, they’d all kill you. Maybe not Quinn, but especially Jack if he found out who you had been dating, let alone dating one of his best friends for the last year
 Yikes.
You and your best friend, Ella, were the first to reach the Lake House. The boys were due to arrive over the next couple of days, but for now, the two of you could go shopping for a heap of food for the next couple of weeks. Oh, and alcohol. Can’t forget that. The boys would kill you.
“How many people are going to be staying here?” Ella asked as you packed the food away.
“Uh, like 15 of us, give or take,” you replied.
“And Cole is one of them,” Ella smirked, throwing a bag of chips at you. She was one of the few people, besides Cole’s teammates, who knew.
“Yes, he is arriving tomorrow. Hopefully before Jack and Luke.”
“So you can smooch,” Ella teased.
That night, the two of you shared a pizza and some drinks while sitting around the fire pit, gossiping about the year you both had had in Michigan. You didn’t know how you managed to get the fire started. July 4th was this weekend, so plans about the weekend also slipped into the conversation.
The backdoor opened, interrupting the two of you who weren’t expecting any company. There stood Cole with a huge grin on his face, his arms outstretched, knowing you would sprint to him. It happened many times when he’d pick you up at Montreal-Pierre airport. Ever the romantic, the two of you were.
“Cole!” You sprinted from the pit to the patio, throwing yourself at your boyfriend. His arms wrapped tightly around you.
“Hey baby,” Cole chuckled, holding you close. “I’ve missed you.”
After he had dumped his bags in his, Jack, and Trevor’s room, Cole joined you to snuggle by the fire. The two of you shared a fluffy blanket, and the three of you caught up. Ella had joined you on a couple of trips to Montreal because you needed a cover story. You couldn’t just tell your brothers the truth about all the trips. ‘Hey Jack, you know how I keep going to Montreal every couple of months? Well, it’s to see your best friend, who is my boyfriend.’ God, you could just imagine Jack’s reaction.
It was special waking up next to Cole that morning, taking in the body heat that wrapped around you. But the moment didn’t last long. You could hear the front doors opening and the voices of your youngest brothers. Shit. That woke you up quickly. They were way earlier than any of you expected.
“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.” Cole was too sleepy to realise who the voices belonged to. Instead, you had to shove him out of the bed. The boy groaned when he landed on the cold wood floor.
“Cole, wake the fuck up. Jack and Luke are here.”
“What?!”
“They’re here early, Cole. Get the fuck out.”
That had him scrambling for his shirt and pants, and his other things, sneaking back to his and the boys' room before Jack could make his way to it. You pretended to sleep a little more before they came to get you out of bed like they loved to do.
“What’s all the noise for?” you groaned as you walked into the hall where Jack and Cole were hugging. You rolled your eyes at your brother’s over-dramatic antics and moved to the kitchen, making sure to call out behind you. “Good to know the bromance can survive being on different teams.”
“Good morning to you too,” Jack retorted.
The day continued, filled with looks shared between you and Cole, often over your brother’s shoulder. The day was spent on the boat with a small group, just hanging out and jumping on and off the boat in the middle of the lake. As the sun set, you found yourself around the fire pit once more with a few more people than the night before. Cole sat on the other side of the fire beside Jack.
“So, sis, we’ve heard you’ve got a boyfriend?” Jack grinned at you.
“What, no?” you lied, your eyes flicking to Cole for only a split second.
Jack chuckled, “Mum accidentally let slip you had a boyfriend. You can’t lie to us now.”
“Fine, I do.”
“How did you meet him?” Luke asked.
You thought about it for a split second. How do you lie and make sure no one connects the dots? “Here in Michigan.”
“Oh nice, so you met him at college,” Jack assumed.
Luke’s eyes focused on you. He was at UMich with you and didn’t remember you ever being with a guy. “At college?”
“Uh yeah?”
“What class did you meet in?” Luke continued.
“Art history,” you lied.
Luke didn’t believe you. The look on his face screamed skepticism. As the photographer for the hockey team, you hung out with him and the team nearly all the time. He knew you wouldn’t have had time for a relationship during college.
“How was your last trip to Montreal?” Jack asked, knowing you and Ella had spent a week in Canada after officially finishing college.
“It was great,” you grinned, “We had a blast.”
“Did you two catch up?” Luke asked, turning to Cole.
Now you could lie, but your poor sweet innocent boyfriend couldn’t. He lost every game of poker. “Yeah, we caught up for dinner, of course.”
“That’s good,” Luke muttered, watching Cole closely. “Glad to know she had a good tour guide.”
“He’s a great tour guide,” you interjected.
Jack stayed oblivious, but Luke’s eyes flicked between you and Cole. He did it for a solid minute before realisation crossed his face. You stood up and grabbed Luke’s arm, pulling him behind you.
“Luke, I need help getting the s'mores ingredients,” you said as you manhandled your tallest brother.
You pulled him into the kitchen and shoved him in, making sure to double-check that Jack didn’t follow you. Cole watched as you left, wanting to follow but knowing it would be suspicious.
“You keep it quiet,” you hissed at your baby brother.
“You and Caufield, seriously? How long have you two been seeing each other?”
“You can say we’re dating.”
“Gross,” Luke gagged.
“Grow up,” you retorted, poking your tongue out at him.
“No,” he sassed.
“To answer your question, we’ve been dating for nearly a year,” you told him, making him sigh once more.
“And that’s why you’ve been going to Montreal? Ella covers for you?”
“Ella actually comes to Montreal with me. But she has family there she sees,” you admitted.
Luke stayed quiet for a moment before nodding. He knew Cole and what he was like as a person. “Are you happy with Cole?”
At that very moment, Jack thought it was a great idea to step into the kitchen with Cole rushing in behind him. “Please say I misheard that,” Jack begged.
“Uh
”
“You didn’t,” Luke nodded, giving a pointed look at Cole standing behind Jack.
Jack turned to his best friend, “You’re dating my sister?!”
“About that,” Cole muttered, unsure of how to handle your brother. “Yes, I am. Our one year is coming up, actually.”
“Yeah, this weekend,” you admitted.
“So you guys got together on July 4th last year?!” Jack yelled.
At this time, Quinn finally arrived with Petey, Brock, and Kuzy in tow. Ella joined as well, wanting to double-check the arguing didn’t get physical between the siblings. She had seen them go crazy on each other before.
“What the hell is going on here?” Quinn asked, looking around the kitchen.
Jack pointed to where you and Cole were standing together and exclaimed, “These two are dating. For like a year!”
“Yeah? I know?”
“So what? Quinn got to know?” Luke frowned.
“How did you know?” you asked Quinn.
Quinn chuckled, “There are only so many times you can go to Montreal without an ulterior motive. It was either Cole or Juraj.”
“Hey!”
“Sorry Cole,” Quinn laughed.
The kitchen was quiet for a moment. The other Canucks and Ella stepped out, leaving the Hughes siblings and Cole alone. You stood next to Cole nervously, hand in hand. Quinn knew and was playing mediator now. Luke was upset about not being told, but Jack
Jack seemed pissed off. Which, to be fair, was what you expected. Then, after a moment, Jack broke the silence.
“Oh my god, that means we’re going to be brothers!”

Can you do Cole caufield, clubs, and 5?
Tumblr media
warnings: dom!cole, choking, exhibitionism, unprotected p in v
wc: 382
Tumblr media
“Shh-shh-shh,” Cole coos in your ear. His light touch on the front of your neck is in direct contrast with the brutal clap of his hips against your behind. He’s got you bent over the sink in the bathroom of the bar, fucking into you from the back and gripping your throat to keep you close. “Be quiet, baby. I can’t have everyone hearing you.”
You whimper at the thought. When you’d first started dating Cole, you’d loved how sweet and genuine and goofy he seemed. He still is sweet, genuine, and goofy, but you had been surprised by how dominant and outgoing he can be in bed.
He was the first to bring up exhibition. He was supportive when you’d admitted that you’d been thinking about choking, but you’d never done it before. Cole had been careful to see what you like before he started pushing at your boundaries, like he is doing now. He’s teasing you so much that you want to take his wrist and fix his hand securely on the column of your throat. You want to curl his fingers around your windpipe and leave them there until you’re seeing stars.
But, if he does, you’ll lose your inhibitions. That’s what Cole says, at least– when he chokes you, noises will fall from your lips for everyone to hear. You never recall the noises, if you’re being honest. He might be right, and most likely is, because you always get nice and hazy when Cole deprives you of your breath.
“Sweet girl, do you like the sound of that?” Cole teases, angling his hips up as he continues thrusting. “You like the idea of everyone hearing how slutty you are for me?”
You moan again, tipping your head back.
Cole cups your chin and draws your body upright, plastering your body against his. His other hand sneaks between your legs, middle and ring fingers circling your clit. “I don’t want them to hear you,” he murmurs with a slight pout to his tone. “You’re mine, baby.” His fingers on your chin inch up to your mouth, finding their way between your lips. “If you’re gonna make noise, you have to moan around my fingers. Get ‘em nice and wet for me while I come in this pretty pussy.”

I've Ever Seen
Tumblr media
Summary: You get drunk on a night out with the wags and the team which leads to you admitting something to Cole.
Warning! Mentions of being drunk!
A/N: ... surprise! I caved in and started writing for Cole lol(send in requests!!) And this song has been on repeat lately(beabadoobee is amazing)
I also never been drunk before so I don't know how drunk people act-
Tumblr media
You giggled as Kirby said a stupid joke, the drinks catching up to you no doubt. For some reason, this light makes Cole look different, almost dazzling.
Cole sensing someone's eyes on him and looks at you almost instantly, he sends a little smile before making his way to you.
He looked down at you with a smile. "Hey baby. You okay?"
You nodded hazily. "M'fine. Fine."
"So there's no reason as to why you're looking at me like you wanna devour me?" Cole chuckles.
You shook your head. "Just admiring."
"Admiring huh? If I didn't know any better I'd say you got a little crush on me." He pinches your cheek as he teases.
Your face flushed, taking him seriously. "I- I don't know what you're talking about."
"You're cute when you're flustered, very cute." Cole kissed your head.
"Can we go home?" You ask quietly, not wanting anyone to see you like this.
Cole nodded. "Of course baby."
He takes your hand in yours and the two of you leave the bar, well you're stumbling but nonetheless made it out.
He opens the car door for you to get in which you do before getting in the driver's seat.
Throughout the drive, you ramble about anything and Cole listens with intense focus despite not knowing what you're saying in half of it.
"Alright we're here." Cole looked at you to find you already staring at him, stuck in a gaze. "Hey... you alright in there?"
You blinked slowly. "Sorry just distracted." You looked away and missed Cole's signature grin.
The two of you went up to your apartment, Cole's grip tighten on you as he unlocked the door.
He let you in first and watched as you kicked your shoes off and headed to the bathroom, Cole opted to go to the bedroom and get ready for bed.
You came out minutes later, your posture sluggish as you landed on the bed right on Cole who let out a low groan at the sudden action.
"Sorry." You mumbled. "Didn't see you there."
You quickly got up and changed into your pajamas and got in bed next to Cole.
"It's okay, we all have accidents." Cole went to turn off the light, the TV already playing Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
"Wait!" You stopped him, he looked at you in confusion but you said nothing.
The two of you making eye contact longer than what was necessary, you then let out a low sigh in realization.
"Oh my god, beabadoobee was right." You looked at Cole, one of your hands coming up to cup his cheek.
Cole knew about your love for beabadoobee but didn't listen to her as much as you. Making his confusion grow even more.
"What... what was she right about?" Cole held his breath in anticipation.
"You have the prettiest eyes I've ever seen." You confesses.
Cole's face flushed at your words. "Oh... uh thanks baby." He smiled shyly.
You tried to kiss his cheek but ended up kissing his nose which he laughed a little at.
"Goodnight baby." He tucked you in his arms.
"Goodnight." You sighed before closing your eyes.

✼. such a fun boyfriend like will always want to play games with you. whether they’re board games, video games, etc. he just loves to spend time with you and make sure you’re both enjoying yourselves.
✼. along with this, he loves to do crafts with you. like if you’re super interested in making jewelry or crocheting, you bet your ass he’s right beside you either helping or wanting you to teach him how. the boys definitely give him a good chirp or two when pictures of him get leaked to the team group chat.
✼. small spoon. no arguments. he obviously loves to hold you while you sleep, but much rather prefers to lay on your chest and listen to your heartbeat. the feeling of your soft body against his, paired with the rise and fall of your breasts will lull him to sleep in record time. will cling to you like a koala, i mean full arms and legs somehow wrapped around you.
✼. prefers to keep an arm around you while in public. it just helps him feel more secure knowing you’re right beside of him.
✼. i feel like he would love to have one of those location sharing apps like life360 or something. he doesn’t want to control you or stalk you in any way, he just a likes knowing where you are in case of emergencies. although sometimes he’ll just pop up out of nowhere bc he was bored and decided to see what you were up to.
✼. cole loves to trace your facial features when you sleep. running his fingers ever so softly over the swoop of your nose, or tracing the special spots of your freckles. he loves when you fall asleep first so he can take the time to admire every single detail of your face and commit them to memory.
✼. pretty much, he’s just a big ole softy

You knew nothing would ever top the sunsets at the lake, but there was something surreal and beautiful about watching them while leaves rusted and crisped and fell around you, and you were on the rooftop of your apartment building, overlooking downtown Montreal.
You knew that fall was a quieter, slower time than the bustle of the rest of the year. Yes, it signaled the start of school, work, and sports season, but there was nothing like walking in the park while it rained leaves and crunching them underneath your feet, hand in hand with Cole.
Oh, yeah, Cole.
You first met him when he was leaving his apartment that was two floors down from yours, clad in a suit for some reason, and you gave him a small wave while heading to your first little job in the city, having just moved there for your studies.
And you just happened to be working in Bell Center, where Cole played hockey.
He was making his debut that same night, and you caught a glimpse of him in the halls where he gave you a smile and a nod and you returned it, basically a silent ‘good job on your first day’.
Eventually, the two of you noticed that you practically had the same leaving times, and got to chatting, exchanging names and numbers, him walking you to your car before heading to his own, offering each other rides back home from the arena if the other didn’t have one, buying coffee for two to hand to each other when you reached work, just a whole series of events leading to sleepovers in each other apartments, watching movies, cooking each other dinner, bonding over being new to the team, and finding comfort and solace in a place farm from home, with each other.
This lead to him introducing his new best friend to his friends in Michigan over the summer. It went by quite normally, sparing the fact that Cole’s hand would linger on your bare shoulder for longer than it should, he would look at you as if you were the only person ever even though the people he hadn’t seen in months were right there, and he had this tendency to be affectionate with you, even if it was all casual. And you’re a smart girl; you knew that there was no way that was casual.
The final nail in the coffin was Cole’s friends looking at him weird every time he brushed his lips against your temple, or when he tenderly traced your jaw before offering to carry you up the stairs when he noticed you nodding off against his shoulder. That’s how you knew you weren’t delusional. But wow, did it do something to your heart. Every time the sun hit his beautiful flow-y hair, and lit up his face in a pool of gold, you felt something stutter in your chest. His little touches felt like fireworks that went from his fingertips into your skin. And he’s a smart boy; he knew you felt something, too.
Regardless, you inhale deeply, watching cars go by at a distance, zooming back forth with cares in the world that had nothing to do with yours. A minute later you heard footsteps.
He always knew where to find you.
You look up to see Cole, dressed casual just like you, lighting a blunt and sitting down next to you. You fell into comfortable silence with him, watching the blunt roll over his lips before he pulls it out to let out a puff of smoke. He turns to you, and instead of giving it to you in your hand, he presses it against your lips.
You give him a show, maintains eye contact while wrapping your lips around it and using the corner of your mouth to blow out the smoke. His lip twitches, he’s amused.
You go back and forth with the roll until Cole speaks up.
“Y’know,” he starts, “My favorite part about getting back to work, after all the chilling over the summer, is knowing that you’ll be here too. With me.”
He’s never been afraid of saying sweet things to you, but this was new. It ignited something within you; the small part of you that wanted him as something more grew at an astronomical rate. You realized that you really, really wanted him that way.
“Cole-” You whisper, “that’s- why’re you-?”
You turn to look at him and notice that he’s scooted closer to you. Very close. The steady thrum of your heart caused by the blunt started to quicken and intensify. The way he looked at you was just so full of unspoken words that he was dying to tell you and you lived for it. You didn’t have time to dwell over your awkward stuttering when he grabbed your chin between his thumb and forefinger.
“Can I kiss you, please?” You muster a nod and he connects your lips in a warm embrace. His hand moves down your your neck and your cup his face in yours. Your lips mold gently against each other, memorizing and basking in the taste of your blunt on the others’ tongue.
You start breathing in short puffs through your nose, not yet ready to pull away even though you were breathless. Cole does it for you, hoarsely chuckling and resting his forehead against yours. You open your eyes to see him already looking at you, lips swollen and red. Eyes bright and electric.
The new season sure was going to be his best.

A Snowy Victory | Cole caufield
Cole caufield x reader
Summary: After Cole’s game-winning goal, him and his girlfriend Y/N walk through the snow, Y/N wearing his jersey, enjoys the cozy, romantic atmosphere as they head home to celebrate with hot cocoa.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
The crisp winter air was biting, but it didn’t seem to matter to Cole Caufield and his girlfriend Y/N as they made their way out of the Bell Centre, a victorious smile on Cole’s face and a skip in his step. The Montreal Canadiens had just wrapped up a thrilling game, with Cole scoring the game-winning goal in the final minutes—a goal that had the entire crowd roaring and chanting his name. Now, with the game behind them, he was heading home, but not alone. Y/N had been there, cheering him on, her eyes lighting up every time he skated across the ice.
The snow had started to fall just before the final buzzer sounded, little flakes drifting down from the sky as if they were celebrating too. The streets were quiet for a Saturday night, the occasional car passing by and the soft crunch of snow underfoot the only sounds as they walked hand in hand toward the parking lot.
Cole looked over at Y/N with a smile that was impossible to miss, his heart still racing from the excitement of the win. The snowflakes settled in his dark hair, and his breath came out in small, puffy clouds as he breathed in the cool air. Y/N was bundled up in a thick coat, the edges of her scarf tucked into her jacket, but what made Cole’s heart swell just a little more was the Montreal Canadiens jersey she was wearing. It was his jersey, the number 22 on the back, the fabric slightly oversized on her small frame, the sleeves rolled up just a bit to keep them from dragging.
“You look cute in my jersey,” Cole teased as they strolled, glancing over at her with a playful grin.
Y/N laughed, leaning into his side slightly, the light from the nearby streetlamp making her face glow. “Well, it’s *your* jersey. I figured it’s only right I wear it when you score the winning goal.”
Cole's smile grew even wider, his chest swelling with warmth. “You’ve got great taste.”
Y/N’s smile was mischievous as she looked up at him. “I know I do. And you know, it’s a good thing you scored that goal, or I would’ve had to wear someone else’s jersey tonight.”
Cole chuckled, shaking his head. “Lucky for me, I showed up when it counted,” he said, pulling her a little closer as they walked.
Snowflakes continued to fall around them, each one landing delicately on their jackets, hair, and eyelashes. The world felt peaceful, the noise of the city muted under the soft blanket of snow.
Y/N looked up at the sky, catching a few snowflakes on her tongue, and giggled softly when she managed to catch one on the tip of her nose. Cole couldn’t help but laugh too, his heart feeling light and full of happiness. He had everything he could ask for: the win, the crowd’s adoration, and the love of the woman by his side.
But then, as they walked under the glow of a streetlamp, a particularly large snowflake landed directly on his head. It melted instantly against his hair, but it caused Y/N to giggle again, the sound light and carefree.
Cole, still walking and now feeling the tiny wet spot on his hair, glanced over at her with an exaggerated frown. “Hey, you’re laughing at me,” he said, his voice feigning offense.
Y/N just shrugged, her eyes twinkling with amusement. “I can’t help it. You’re adorable. And you’ve got snow in your hair.”
“Maybe it’s a sign that I’m the snow king,” Cole said, trying to sound serious, but he couldn't keep the smile from breaking through. “I’m basically a winter wonderland expert.”
Y/N stopped walking for a moment, eyes narrowing as if she was evaluating his claim. “A winter wonderland expert, huh?”
“Yeah,” he said, his lips curling into a playful grin. “You should come with me sometime. I’ll show you how to rule the snow.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “Is that so? And how exactly does one become an expert in snow?”
Cole stopped walking too, his voice dropping to a teasing whisper. “I could show you, but
you might need to be a little closer for the demonstration.”
Before Y/N could respond, she leaned in toward him, her lips brushing against his cheek as she kissed him softly, the snowflakes seeming to pause around them in the moment. Her lips were warm against his cool skin, the faint scent of peppermint lingering from the hot chocolate they had shared earlier. Cole closed his eyes, his heart skipping a beat as he felt the gentle press of her kiss.
When she pulled back, Y/N was smiling, a soft flush in her cheeks from the cold air. “I think I’m getting the hang of this ‘winter wonderland’ thing.”
“You’re already a pro,” Cole said, his voice soft but with that familiar warmth only she could draw out of him.
Y/N smiled, taking his hand again, this time holding it a little tighter. “Well, if I’m going to be an expert at snow, I think I need to learn from the best.”
Cole’s grin deepened, and he gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “Lucky for you, I’m always here to teach you. But first
” He paused and, without warning, brushed the snowflakes out of his hair with his free hand. The snow melted almost immediately against his warm skin, but he made a little show of it, like he was brushing off imaginary snow.
“Alright,” he said, “Let’s go find my car. I’ve got a victory to celebrate with my favorite person.”
They continued walking, the snow continuing to fall around them in a steady stream. The quiet evening wrapped itself around them like a cozy blanket, the snowflakes falling in perfect harmony with the rhythm of their footsteps.
When they reached the parking lot, Cole opened the door to his car, holding it for Y/N as she slid into the passenger seat. He was about to shut the door when he looked back at her, his expression soft and sincere.
“You know,” he said, leaning in just a little, “I don’t think I could’ve had a better night. Winning the game was great, but spending it with you?” He let the words hang in the air, his smile a little shy, but genuine.
Y/N smiled back, her heart full as she looked at him. “I feel the same way. I’m proud of you, Cole. But I’m even more happy that I’m here with you.”
Before he closed the door, Cole leaned in for another quick kiss, this time on her forehead, the warmth of his lips a perfect contrast to the cold air around them. Then, as he pulled away, he finally shut the door and jogged around to the driver’s side.
The drive home was peaceful. The radio played softly in the background, but the real melody was the quiet, contented feeling between them. They didn’t need many words. The evening had already spoken for itself.
As they pulled into the driveway of Cole’s place, Y/N felt like the night had been a perfect dream, the snow still falling gently around them, the whole world quiet except for the soft crunch of the tires on the snow-covered driveway.
Cole turned to her, his eyes soft as he unbuckled his seatbelt. “How about some hot cocoa to end the night?”
Y/N laughed softly, already unbuckling her seatbelt as she leaned over and gave him one last quick kiss on the cheek. “Only if you make it. I’m still waiting to see if you're as good at making cocoa as you are at hockey.”
Cole’s grin returned. “I’ve got a lot of skills. Making hot cocoa is just one of them.”
She laughed again, rolling her eyes. “Alright, Mr. Winter Wonderland, let’s see if you can live up to the hype.”
And just like that, they were home. But the night wasn’t over—not yet. They still had each other, the snow, and a whole lot of warmth waiting for them inside.

CHRISTMAS MIRACLE — COLE CAUFIELD
cole caufield x fem!reader
12 DAYS OF KINKMAS
summary: in which y/n gets stuck with her enemy, Cole, and finds out hate can lead to some miracle discoveries
warnings: NSFW CONTENT, long intro, handjob, p in v (protected), sub!cole (ish?). (4.7k words)
notes: welcome to day 10 of my 12 days of kinkmas! we’re in the final stretch of kinkmas and i hope you guys are enjoying it!
Tumblr media
this isn’t how i want to be spending the first day of my break.
well, i guess the first hour of my break.
i was just getting ready to head home, dreading driving in the blizzard of a snow storm and taking my time to psych myself up, when an equipment manager called me over. he told me a player forgot his ipad and is asking if anyone would be willing to drop it off on their way home because he’d like to go over plays during the break.
hesitantly, i said sure, i’d bring it to them; but what i wasn’t aware of, and what i’m sure my coworker conveniently forgot to mention, is that the player in question is Cole fucking Caufield.
it’s not necessarily that i hate Cole; on the contrary, i had always thought he was extremely kind and talented.
in fact, when i had originally interned with the Laval Rocket, he was always incredibly nice to me. and in turn, i fell for him a little each day.
but then, he was called up to Montreal, and the following season, i was offered the position of media manager for the Canadiens.
i was excited, i spent the week leading up to my first day thinking about how wonderful it would be to be able to joke around with Cole again. i thought of sketch tiktoks for the team to do, most with Cole as the leading man because i knew he was a fan favorite, and questions to ask as they took the ice for practice.
and it was great at first. Cole was sweet and he was always willing to take part in team tiktoks, always greeting me with a smile. but around a month later, something changed.
no longer was he the kindhearted individual i was familiar with, instead he was cold shouldered and rude; snarky and arrogant. and that’s the way it’s stayed. for the past few years it’s felt like pulling teeth to try and communicate with him, and even worse to convince him to be in team tiktoks.
which brings me to now, standing at the front door of his house, an ipad tucked under my arm as i stand in the blistering cold. snow sticks on my lashes, flurries in my hair, but my toque does nothing to shield me from the cold Montréal air.
if i drove here on the icy roads, my windshield wipers at full speed, just for him to not even answer the fucking door, i’m gonna lose it.
i bang my fist upon the door again, body shivering from the cold, and it takes merely a moment for him to finally open the door.
he greets me with a wide smile, but when he sees that it’s me who stands before him, that cheery facade drops, a cold, blank expression taking its place.
i can hear the news blasting from his living room as the heated air wafts out of the home, blasting my face and making my nose go numb from the sudden cold to warm.
“what?” he asks, voice monotone.
“here,” i shove the ipad into his chest harshly, making him cough from the sudden impact, “next time, don’t leave your fucking ipad at the rink.”
he glares back, taking the ipad into his hands and parting his lips to argue.
“it was an accident,” he sneers, “trust me, if i knew you would bring it to me, i definitely would’ve double checked i had it.”
you.
my body fills with anger, insulted yet hurt by the way he says it. as though he’s repulsed by me.
“ya know what, asshole?” i don’t even get to finish my quip before i’m cut off a loud alarm coming from the tv.
it gathers both he and i’s attention, his head snapping back to look at the screen, while i peer around him to see it.
“with the blizzard picking up and roads becoming icier, officials have reported that all roads will now be closed for the night. stay inside and stay warm. we’ll get back to you when the storm passes.”
the news reporters words echo through my head, forcing me to end my comeback and just turn around.
i take a step towards the stairs that lead up to his door, but i’m stopped almost immediately.
“hey, where are you going?” Cole calls out from behind me.
“home!”
“they just said the roads are closed.”
“exactly,” i huff, “which means i need to get going quick so that if i get pulled over, i can say i was already driving.”
i’m about to take a step down the stairs when a hand wraps around my forearm, pulling me back.
“don’t be stupid, y/n,” he says, “you’re gonna crash, and i’m not living with your death on my fucking conscience.”
i turn to look at him, a heated glare in my eyes, “i’m not staying with you.”
a mischievous smirk spreads across his lips as he pushes me toward his open door, “yeah, you are.”
i stumble into the warm house, a stark contrast to the weather outside, and i just get my bearing when i hear the door shut, Cole flipping the lock and walking idly past me towards the living room.
“what the fuck is your problem?” i huff, shaking my head as i succumb to my fate, removing my coat and hanging it on a coat hook next to his door.
“my problem?” he looks over at me astonished, “i’m trying not to let you die.”
i roll my eyes, my arms crossing over my chest.
“i would not have died.” but he’s not paying any attention to my words, his eyes locked on something else entirely.
i follow his line of sight straight down to my breasts, inadvertently pushed up from my crossed arms, and my nipples pebbling through my thin dress.
“oh my god,” i hiss, moving my arms to cover my breasts, “fucking pig.”
his eyes snap up to mine before he rolls them.
“get over yourself, it’s nothing special.”
for some reason, i feel offended. not that him looking at them was great, but the way he shrugs it off and implies my tits are average?
“oh fuck off,” i fume, “people would pay to see these.”
he smirks, wiggling his eyebrows a few times, “you saying people pay to see you naked?”
“what? no!” i’m at a loss for words, not an easy achievement for most people, and yet a common occurrence when i’m around him.
“pretty sure that’s what you implied. and i’m sorry to let you down, but i’m not paying twenty bucks to see your rack.”
i gape, blinking at him in shock, “you couldn’t even pay me fifty to see these!”
i’m not even sure why i’m letting this conversation drag on; why i’m even entertaining it.
i sigh, stalking past him and bumping into his shoulder as i make my way to the living room.
“why would i pay when i could see them for free?” he chuckles at my lame tantrum, following behind me.
“what makes you think that?” i sneer, dropping down on the couch, Cole quick to follow.
“well that’s why you took the job, right?” he laughs, “it’s why you were constantly putting me in the spotlight of the team tiktoks and why you were always so buddy-buddy with me? you’re into me.”
i stare back at him in anger, but also frustration. frustration that anyone would think i would take a job just for a man.
“let’s set things fucking straight,” i snap, “i took the job because it was good pay and i grew up here, therefore, the Canadiens are my team and the plan was always to work for them. long before you showed up.
“i put you in the spotlight of the tiktoks because you’re the fan favorite. you have teeny-bopper girls fawning over your nice guy act and for some reason they fucking eat it up. and finally, i was ‘buddy-buddy’ with you because i thought you were a nice fucking guy and you made me believe we could be friends. never would i ever make a career decision for a fucking guy.”
i’m absolutely seething by the end of my rant, one knee bent on the couch and my body twisted to face him.
“sure.”
that one worded response sets me off. i don’t know what it is about Cole Caufield that gives him the ability to get under my skin like nobody else has, but i’m absolutely rageful.
“god, i can’t believe i ever fucking liked you!” i freeze. the words slipped out before i even had a second to process them, and now i watch as a cocky grin paints his face.
“so you admit, you like me.”
“liked. past tense,” i tell him, “i fell victim to your charming, nice guy facade. but never again.”
“you keep saying that!” he grunts, “i am a nice guy!”
“yeah? well, you certainly pick and choose who to be nice to, and for some reason, i’m not on that list.”
i can’t understand for the life of me why i’m suddenly feeling emotional, but i decide in the moment to blame it on pent up frustration. i always have been an angry crier.
“which is fine,” i sniffle, “but god, you didn’t have to be such a fucking dick. i liked you and i thought you liked me; but then all of a sudden you switched up. you started hating me, and i don’t even know what i did!”
Cole seems at a loss for words, shocked by sudden change of emotions. but, he also seems confused, his brows furrowed and a frown upon his lips.
“you don’t know?” he huffs, “i literally asked you out like five times, y/n! and you rejected me every single time!”
now it’s my turn to be confused, “what? no, you didn’t.”
“uh, yeah, i did! i asked if you wanted to go out for drinks after games like five times and every time you said no!”
realization dawns on me, clarity filling my head, and i can’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.
“why are you laughing?!” Cole groans, head falling onto the back of the couch and hands covering his face.
“because,” i giggle, “this is ridiculous.”
“how?” his response is muffled by the palms of his hands, but i can hear the frustration in his voice.
“because you asked me out five times and all five times, i thought you were just asking if i wanted to join the team for drinks!”
his hands fly away from his face, head snapping up to look at me, “what?!”
i nod my head, overcome by a fit of giggles.
“you thought i was asking you
. to hang out as a group?”
“yes!” i cackle, “and i get uncomfortable in crowded bars, so i made excuses! jesus, Cole! we’ve hated each other for years because i misunderstood your idea of a date!”
Cole is silent for a moment, staring off in front of him at the news playing on the tv, before he slowly begins chuckling.
“oh my god,” he laughs, a hand slapping down on his thigh and making me laugh even harder, “so you hate me now, don’t you?”
“oh yeah,” i nod, “you were a dick!”
“hey!” he chuckles, “you weren’t very nice to me either! i mean just like fifteen minutes ago you shoved an ipad into my chest!”
“you deserved that.” i point to him, narrowing my eyes.
he shrugs, “alright, yeah, i deserved that.”
the room goes mostly quiet, Cole watching the news, while my sight is drawn to the window, watching the snow cascade down to the ground.
we sit there for at least half an hour, him flipping through channels and me watching the blizzard, before a lightbulb goes off in my head.
“hey, i have an idea.” i announce, catching Cole’s attention.
“hmm?”
“i’m sure we both still have some pent up anger and frustration, we can’t exactly just erase the past couple years of hating each other,” he hums for me to continue, “how about a snowball fight?”
he glances over at me with a singular raised brow, “a snowball fight? what, like we’re six?”
“exactly!” i nod, “we get to pelt each other with snowballs and let out any residual anger towards each other, and then we get to start anew. get a clean slate. whadd’ya say?”
his eyes flicker between me and the window for several moments before he nods, “i say let’s do it.”
with that, we scurry from the couch, bundling back into our coats and toque’s, he even lends me a pair of gloves, and then we’re running out into the thick blanket of snow that covers the ground.
we agree on fifteen minutes to build our shields, hurrying to build snow walls as high as we can, and once i deem the ten minutes over, i’m hiding behind my wall, crafting snowballs into a pile beside me.
grabbing one in my hand, i peer out from behind my shield, watch as Cole does the same, and on instinct my hand flexes forward, throwing the snowball as hard as i can.
obviously not from here, Cole’s shield crumbles upon my third snowball throw, making me cackle as the snow cascades down upon him.
he looks over at me with a glare and i duck down, listening to the pelt of snowballs against my shield, but then it goes quiet and all i can hear is the crunch of snow until suddenly it stops.
my brows thread together as i keep an ear out for any sound, but just as i’m about to peer over my wall, it comes crumbling down, and i look up to find the culprit grinning victoriously.
“hey! no fair!” i huff, throwing a snowball right at his chest. he gapes back at me in astonishment.
“you knocked mine down too!” he shouts, a snowball hitting me in the shoulder.
“yeah, but that was an accident! yours was just poorly made!” another snowball to his shoulder, “mine was made well, you knocked it down on purpose!”
he shrugs, taking off and crunching through the snow as he tries to get away. he stops to pick up more snow and i take my chance to throw, hitting him square in the back.
but he doesn’t even turn around, tossing a snowball over his shoulder. i attempt to dodge it but my efforts are in vain as the snow lands directly on the top of my head, making me scoff in frustration.
“rude!” i yell, taking aim and hitting him directly in the back of the head. snow sticks his hair and he whips around to look at me, but upon seeing me; my hat knocked off and snow covering the top of my head, he starts laughing.
“that’s it!” i call out, stomping over to where he’s fallen onto his butt mid-laughter, his eyes squeezed closed as he chuckles with glee.
towering over him, i hold a snowball in my hand, not throwing it, but instead smashing it upon the top of his head.
his laughter falters, his eyes flying open to scowl up at me as i begin to giggle.
“you’re right, that was pretty funny!” i laugh, but i don’t make it long before i step forward, my foot hitting an icy patch of grass, and i fall forward, a squeal leaving my lips as i land on top of him.
“shit.” i breathe out.
“guess you really did fall for me.” he quips and i roll my eyes, but despite the cheesy line and the freezing cold air, the spots in which his hands rest on my sides are burning.
“that was so corny..” i tell him.
“yeah?” he raises a brow, one hand leaving my side, and i almost mourn his touch, but then a handful of snow is being shoved down my coat and i’m squealing, wiggling on top of him as the snow begins to melt into icy water and trickle down my body.
“oh my god, Cole!” i moan in frustration, my face twisting in discomfort.
“don’t do that.” he stiffens, his hands holding me still on top of him.
confusion pinches my face, but then i feel it, his half hardened cock pressing against my thigh.
my teeth sink into my bottom lip, a spark running through my body, but i push myself off of him, standing up and brushing off my coat.
“ya know what sounds good?” i ask him, stepping back as he stands as well.
“what?” he grunts, a small glare pointed my way.
“hot cocoa,” i smile, “or
something else to warm us up.”
“i don’t know if i have cocoa, but i have coffee.”
i nod, “that works! it’ll warm us up and wake us up!”
Cole trudges into the house and i follow suit, but despite my attempt to change the subject, my mind is still stuck on him being turned on.
a gust of air blows through as i reach the door, a shiver traveling down my spine, and i quickly step inside, shutting the door behind me.
i shed my coat and gloves before kicking off my shoes, hanging my now damp hat on the coat hook over my coat.
trailing behind him into the kitchen, i watch as he opens cupboards, rifling through them. i hop up on the counter, legs pressed together, sitting silently until he huffs and turns around.
“i-” he trails off and i follow his eyesight back down to my breasts for the second time today, my nipples stiff and poking through my dress from the previous frigid air.
“Cole.” i snap my fingers, grabbing his attention as his eyes flick back up to my face.
“hmm?”
“god, if you wanna see ‘em, all you gotta do is ask,” i joke, flipping my hair over my shoulder as Cole steps forward.
“can i see them?” he asks, a wicked smirk plastered to his lips.
my lips part, my eyes wide as i blink back at him.
is he serious right now?
surely he’s joking, but i call his bluff, my thumbs slipping through the shoulder collars of my shirt and pulling them down.
i pull my arms out, the top of the dress now only covering my chest, but he continues staring at me. leveling him with a raised brow as i pull the top of my dress down.
i have every intention of just slowly teasing him, but the fabric glides too quickly, my breasts fully exposed to the chilly air now.
his eyes widen and he stumbles slightly in his hurried steps toward me. my teeth sink into my bottom lip, watching him admire my naked chest.
“you actually-” he cuts himself off with a chuckle, his hands hover in the air before them as he peers at me, “can i?”
i nod, and when his cold skin meets mine, a chill runs through me.
lightly pawing at my breasts, his thumb and pointer fingers pinch my nipples, making my back arch involuntary at the stinging touch.
“Cole.” i whimper through a quiet moan.
he steps even closer, nudging my legs open with his body, and my hands reach out, locking around the back of his neck.
“can i kiss you?” i breathe out.
“fuck yeah.”
i pull him forward, finding his lips with mine in a long overdue kiss, and what starts out slow and careful, quickly heats up into something intense and messy.
my tongue slips into his mouth, pushing and battling against his as he continues playing with my nipples, pinching and pulling, rubbing them between us.
a moan reverberates from my mouth and into his, causing him to smile into the kiss.
“you don’t understand how long i’ve been waiting for this.” he mutters, his lips brushing against mine.
“probably not as long as i have.” i tell him honestly, earning a light giggle from him.
his lips capture mine once more, but his hands divert their attention, trailing down my body and pushing my dress down as a result.
“yeah, i forgot, you have the hots for me.” he grins as i lift my hips, allowing him to pull my dress down my legs and fling it onto the counter.
i roll my eyes, wrapping my legs around his waist lightly, “shut up and take me to your room.”
“yes, ma’am.”
i’m almost frightened by the way my core dampens from his reply. i’ve never generally been a dominant person in the bedroom, but there’s something about him that makes me want to become one.
when we reach his bedroom, i unhook my legs, my front sliding down his body and rubbing against his hardened length as my feet lower to the floor.
my hands find the waistband of his sweatpants, still slightly damp from the snow, and i peer at him through my lashes. when he breathes out a lust-driven ‘yes’ in approval, i push them down, allowing him to kick them off and free his cock from the restraint. he pulls his shirt over his head in a rush, leaving him naked before me in all his glory.
tight muscles and chiseled abs make my mouth water, a sculpted v-line leading to his thick cock.
well, now i know why he has his nickname.
leaning in until my lips are nearly pressing against his ear, i whisper an unsure demand, “get on the bed.”
Cole swallows harshly, nodding as he pulls me toward his mattress. sitting on the edge, he looks up at me, awaiting approval, but i shake my head.
“in the middle.” i clarify.
he follows my orders, sitting prettily in the middle of the bed. an animalistic sensation comes over me, urging me to crawl forward on the mattress, and when i do, i hover over him.
one hand rests upon his abs, tracing the results of his stern training regime, while the other presses into the mattress, holding myself up.
i can feel him shiver underneath me as my nails graze across his torso before i find myself trailing down, wrapping my fingers around his erection and giving a small tug.
a hiss falls from his lips, his jaw clenching as his hips jerk up into my fist.
“aww, look at you.” i coo. i bring my hand up to my mouth, licking up my palm before spitting into it twice, rubbing my fingers into it to lubricate it well.
gripping his cock once again, i slowly begin flicking my wrist, pumping as i stare down at him.
shaky curses and tight grunts come from his mouth, his body writhing underneath me, and the sight is enough to make my core pulse, wetness dampening my panties.
i take the moment to trail wet kisses up his chest, starting from the top of his abdomen and leading all the way up to his collarbone.
“so good for me.” i hum, backing away to spit on his cock.
my thumb rubs over his tip, the mix of precum and saliva helping my hand pump his dick smoothly, and he groans loudly, eyes squeezing shut as his face scrunches in pleasure.
“please, y/n,” he whimpers, his voice cracking, “i’m not gonna last. i wanna be inside you.”
“yeah? you think you deserve my pussy?”
i don’t even know who i am anymore, but i find myself liking the newfound confidence that fills my body.
“yes,” he nods harshly, “yes, please!”
my hand stills, releasing him and flattening against the comforter to wipe off the spit.
“condom?” i question, and he points to his bedside drawer, watching closely as i lean over and grab one.
i open the foil packet carefully, discarding it on the nightstand and pinching the tip before slowly rolling it onto him. my motions earn another huffed out breath of pleasure from his lips.
my thumbs hook into the waistband of my panties, pushing them down and off my legs before i throw them to the floor.
crawling back over top of him, i grasp his cock in my hands one more time, rubbing it through my slick folds. it’s glides smoothly through my wetness, and my head tips back as it rubs against my clit.
“fuck, Cole.”
lining him up with my entrance, i sink down slowly, the tip of his cock penetrating my core and stretching out my walls. the stinging pleasure worsens as i sink down lower, and i begin slowly bouncing with shallow movements until it becomes easier to slide onto his erection.
his hands grip my hips tightly, fingertips digging into my skin, but i can’t bring myself to care as i finally take all of him.
“shit.” he curses through gritted teeth, voice tight.
i slowly begin grinding my hips, my clit brushing against his pelvic bone with every movement, and i cry out as i begin bouncing on top of him, his hips meeting mine with shallow thrusts upwards.
my jaw slackens, breathy moans drifting out as i work my hips up and down, listening intently to the sound of his cock sliding through my wetness as my walls draw him in with each downward motion.
“god, you’re so big.” my words are shaky, my hands clutching at his chest in order to support myself.
soon, my legs begin to tire, shaking in both pleasure and exhaustion, and Cole catches on quickly, taking over the brunt of the work as he begins to pound into me from below.
the intensity of his thrusts sends me falling forward, my tits pressing against his chest, and he takes of the position, capturing my lips with his in a heated manner.
his lips press against mine, his tongue exploring my mouth, and it’s a struggle for me not to cry out as the new angle causes the tip of his cock to graze my g-spot with every thrust.
my stomach begins tightening with slowly building pressure, my walls clenching around him with my impending orgasm.
my toes curl, and knowing i’m close, i break our kiss, snaking my hand between our bodies in order to rub my clit.
“fuck, i’m close.” he gruffs, his hips smacking against mine as his thrusts speed up.
i nod my head against him, “me too.”
my fingers circle my clit, pushing me further and further towards the edge, but before i can get there, Cole is one step ahead.
he lets out a harsh grunt, spilling out into the condom as he fucks me through his release, and the feeling of his dick pulsating inside me spurs on my own climax.
my breath hitches, toes curling as i cum around his cock, my fingers slowing down on my clit.
slumping entirely against him, my head lays against his shoulder, his chest rising and falling rapidly beneath me.
“what the fuck just happened?” i pant, rolling off of him in favor of burying myself into his side.
his arms wrap around my waist, pulling me tighter to him as he chuckles.
“a goddamn christmas miracle.”
i giggle loudly, a snort escaping me and in turn making him laugh harder.
when we finally calm down, our breathing evening out and our bodies feeling somewhat more relaxed, Cole gets out of the bed, disposing of the condom in his en-suite bathroom trashcan before returning with a wet rag.
i open my legs, my hips jerking as he cleans me up, and i wait patiently as he pulls on a pair of boxers, throwing me a pair and a clean t-shirt.
i pull them on quickly, eager to cuddle more, and when he finally joins me back in the bed, my leg is quickly thrown over his hips, my arm resting on his chest as my head gets buried in his neck.
“you’re a cuddler.” he states the obvious, his hand running up and down my back as i hum in agreement.
“is that a problem?” i question, eyes fluttering shut, and i can feel him shake his head.
he pulls me in tighter, pressing a kiss to my forehead, “just an observation for the future.”
“the future?”
“oh yeah, you’re not getting rid of me now.” he tells me, but i can hear it plain as day; he’s nervous.
i heave out a deep sigh, my body melting into his before i answer, “wasn’t planning on it.”

C. Caufield - Linear Progress
Tumblr media
✄————————————
Cole Caufield x Fem!reader
Requested✹
Word Count: 3.3k
Warning(s): anxiety, mention of depressive episode, sad!cole
These upcoming fics are all things from my notes app from last season, doctored and given a finish so I could post! Some of these are so long it’d be a shame to just delete.
—————————————
His smile barely reached his eyes. His laughter was distant and distracted. Cole, so used to keeping good posture to feel like he measured up to those around him, stood about as poorly as a pregnant mother. His gloved hands clasped in front of himself as he shifted his weight from skate to skate.
I couldn’t take pictures of him like that. People would never notice the vulnerable state he was in, but I did. He looked so nervous. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere but on the ice. And I knew that’s exactly what was going through his mind, because he’d pulled all the stops that morning trying to get me to call off for him. He’d tried saying he didn’t feel good, then he tried saying he just wanted to lay in bed. Then he tried faking a headache, and he tried tricking me into thinking he had gone back to bed. By the time I got him into the car, Cole’s attitude had done a complete switch. All of a sudden it was like work was the best place on earth. We had parted ways to do our separate things, but when I came down to the ice with my camera, I could sense Cole’s discomfort from a mile away.
“You wanna hit something other than the glass, Coley?” I watched Cole through the lens of my camera. Watched the way he brushed off the chirp with a quiet chuckle and a nod. He just wanted to stay home. I should have let him. Practice was only an hour, but it certainly felt longer. Between everybody’s endless digs on the blonde, and the occasional glances in Cole’s direction from coaches, I could see his facade cracking and fading.
I didn’t capture near as many photos as I would have liked, but my boss would just have to use what the other photographers got. Surely we’d have more than enough. I tucked my camera back into its bag by the time practice ended, watching the boys leave the ice, and eventually walking toward the visitors tunnel. I stopped short though, when I heard a puck slam off the glass. I turned back to the ice, my heart sinking in my chest at the frustration on Cole’s face.
“Fucking empty net.” His voice carried through the empty arena.
This had nothing to do with the empty net in the present. It had to do with the empty net he missed one week prior. That seemed to have started his scoring drought.
“Fuck.” He spat out. My brow furrowed as he skated toward the bench, my body tensing in anticipation as he raised his stick, clearly ready to slam it off the top of the bench wall until it broke. Before he could even bring the stick down, his entire body relaxed. He found reason within his anger. Or maybe he had simply given up. I watched Cole throw the stick aside in the bench instead, saying, ‘fuck it,’ before he stomped down the tunnel toward the locker room.
He had just returned from an injury. Adjusting was normal. Relearning some things was normal. But Cole wasn’t patient with himself. He never was. I carried my camera down the separate hall, half tempted to retrieve Cole’s stick, but ultimately deciding against it. He’d be embarrassed if he knew I’d watched him lash out like that. He hated when people saw any side of him that wasn’t the usual giggly and fun side.
I stole away to my office to finish a few things before I received a message from him, trying to speed up the process of downloading photos to my computer as Cole’s face popped up on my phone screen. I quickly answered the call.
“Hey, babe-“
“I wanna go home.” So much for pleasantries, but I hadn’t expected them in the first place.
“Give me maybe.. fifteen minutes, okay?” Silence followed my request for time.
“Please.” I heard his voice echo, my brow furrowing as I glanced toward my phone.
“Are you in the bathroom?”
“I just wanna go home.” I could have sworn I heard Cole’s voice quiver.
“You can come sit in my office while you wait.”
“I’m okay.” I wanted to pinch my nose. To grab him by the shoulders and shake the stubbornness out of him.
“Why don’t you go wait in the car then?” I bit my lip as I looked back at my computer.
“‘Kay. But.. just fifteen minutes, right?”
My eyes lit up when the photos finally loaded onto the computer.
“Less than fifteen.” I answered, “I’ll be fast.”
I tried to stay true to my word, but when my boss stopped me in the hall, I knew it would be far longer than fifteen minutes. A half an hour longer to be exact. When I got out of her office, I ran as quickly as I could through the building to get to the parking lot. I felt horrible when I noticed Cole’s head lift. Our car the only one left in the players lot.
I tossed my camera in the back and climbed into the passenger seat without so much as a word. I wasn’t in trouble, but I knew Cole wasn’t thrilled.
“You said fifteen minutes.” Cole hadn’t wasted much time getting the car started and pulling out of the lot.
“I’m sorry. My boss stopped me, and- god you know how she is.”
“Talks for hours, yeah.” Cole tried to muster a chuckle. He looked so apathetic. So careless. But not in a freeing or jovial way. He simply looked drained and tired.
“What do you wanna do when we get home?” I asked, glancing out the window at the passing scenery. Christmas was just around the corner. Snow covered sidewalks and streets, and Christmas decor was up everywhere.
“I just wanna lay down.” Cole shook his head. I turned my attention to him.
“You could use a hair cut.”
“Not today.”
“Might feel good.” Laying around and doing nothing in the midst of a funk never helped anybody. As easy as it was to laze around, it usually only made one’s mental health worse.
“You can lay with me.” He was stuck on this idea. Too bad I was stuck on my own as well.
“I’ll lay with you if you let me cut your hair.”
Cole didn’t reply. He bit his lip and ignored the proposal. “I have stuff to do today anyway.” I shrugged. I wanted to be there, but if Cole didn’t let me in, there wasn’t much I could do. So if he insisted on laying around all day, I’d busy myself with cleaning, straightening up the few decorations we had yet to put out, working on Christmas cards. Anything to busy myself while he stayed miserable.
“‘Mkay.”
It was the end of our conversation until we got back to our apartment. I carried my things inside behind Cole, who kicked his shoes off and headed straight for our bedroom. I had to stop myself from following after him. Instead, I dropped my camera bag on the love seat and wandered into the dining room to grab my laptop,
He’d come around eventually. It was what I kept telling myself as I turned on some Christmas music and put the few finishing touches on our customized Christmas cards. I sang along quietly, and set my laptop aside when I finished the cards. I saved the design to show to Cole when he felt better, and shot up from the couch to make a glass of hot chocolate.
I ended up making two, and against my better judgement, I carried one down the hall for my lover.
“Cole?” I toed our bedroom door open, spotting his still body curled up under a mess of blankets. His back was turned to the door, but I could tell he had the comforter pulled over half of his face. I sighed, resting the mug on his nightstand before I placed a hand on his arm.
“Made you some hot chocolate.” I whispered, leaning over to kiss his shoulder. I didn’t know if Cole was awake or not, but the affection was needed nonetheless. I tiptoed out of our room and pulled the door shut behind myself, only to return to my own world of lonely Christmas preparation.
I spent close to two hours putting up the last of the decorations and cleaning. I saved the tiny statues of Hermey and Rudolph for the tv mantle, where they always went, but Cole loved being the one to put them up. I stared down at the statues on the coffee table, placing my hands on my hips as I’ll Be Home For Christmas came on from my laptop on the couch. The cozy atmosphere was almost perfect. I just wished Cole didn’t feel so horrible. He deserved to enjoy his holidays. Not worry them away.
I glanced back toward the hall, hearing an ear splitting shatter as if on cue.
“Cole?” I shouted, panic seizing my chest as I took off through the hallway, making a sharp turn to push our bedroom door open. Cole was out of bed, wearing nothing but boxers, holding an arm out toward the door.
“It’s fine! I’m fine! I got it!” I looked toward the floor to see the mug I’d set on his dresser in pieces. I grimaced. His favorite mug. Hot chocolate ran across the floor, and I was quick to jog into the bathroom to grab a towel.
“Here.” When I returned, I tossed the towel on the floor, covering the small puddle of liquid. “I’ll go grab something to wipe the floor down.. you start picking up glass.” I left the bedroom, going to rummage through the kitchen for my floor cleaner. When I found it, I grabbed a few paper towels as well, returning in record time.
Cole was knelt on the floor, the towel from the bathroom pushed aside as he collected glass from the floor. I noticed the sporadic and heavy rise and fall of his back, the way his chest heaved. His hair covered his eyes, and despite not being able to see his face, I knew he was upset.
“Coley.” I made my way over and knelt next to him.
“I’m almost done.” Cole’s voice quivered. I set the items in my hands down, gently resting my hand on his cheek, turning his head to face me. Cole’s eyes were wet with tears, his cheeks flushed and stained by the tracks of tears that had already fallen.
“Oh, Cole.” I kissed his forehead, shaken by the sob that escaped his lips as he set the collected glass down atop a paper towel. I sat down on the floor and pulled him in. He’d been kneeling before, but he barely thought twice about it when his body fell into my own, back pressed into my chest while I held onto him tightly.
“I’m sorry.” The words came out through broken cries, but I merely shook my head and rubbed his side with one of my hands.
“It’s okay.. everything is gonna be okay.” Cole didn’t have days like these often. Where everything bubbled over and became too much to bear. He was good at keeping himself in check. In fact, he was usually the one taking care of me on days like these. But I never missed an opportunity to assure him I was there in moments when he felt he couldn’t function. When the dark cloud looming over was simply too much to bear. I rested my chin on Cole’s shoulder, pressing occasional kisses to his body to help distract and ease his mind.
“Cole,” I whispered as he started to calm down. He wiped the tears from his cheeks and slowly turned to look at me. “Let’s fix this mess, okay? Then we can relax.” He seemed reluctant to get up, and I knew he’d sit there all day if I didn’t take initiative. “C’mon.” I directed his attention back to the glass, helping him retrieve the last few pieces before he got up to throw them away. I made quick work of cleaning the floor, wiping down any sticky spots before I had stood up to put the towel in the hamper, and throw the paper towels away. When Cole returned, he stood in the doorway, hugging himself for warmth, or maybe still out of discomfort. I turned to look at him, flashing a sad smile.
“I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to..” as if I didn’t know that. As if he hadn’t already apologized. I crossed the floor to meet him in the doorway, wrapping my arms around his body. I gently rubbed his back, taking note of the tight muscles.
“It was an accident. It’s okay.” I whispered, “you wanna talk about what’s been going on?” I looked up at him, earning a quiet ‘no,’ in response.
“Cole, you were just crying. It might help some.” I tucked a lock of his long blonde hair behind his ear, then trailed my hand down his face, following his jaw.
“I just wanna lay back down.”
There it was. That constant avoidance.
“At least lay with me on the couch. All the decorations in the living room are set out.” I rubbed the small of his back, earning a careful nod. “I’m gonna grab a sweatshirt first. It’s a little cold.” I moved my arms around to his stomach, nodding and pressing a kiss to his shoulder before I slipped out of the bedroom.
There was no promise that Cole wouldn’t lay back down in our bed, but I had to trust him a little.
When I got back into the living room, I shut the lights out and plugged the Christmas tree in. I grabbed one of our Christmas blankets and laid it out on the couch, waiting for him as I placed a throw pillow at one end. I laid down and pushed the blanket aside so I could pull it over us later. I grabbed the tv remote and started sifting through channels, smiling at Cole when he finally came through the hall. He still didn’t have pants on, but his sweatshirt sleeves were pulled over his hands, and he had the plastic end of one of the strings in his mouth. As cozy as he could get. I parted my legs for him to lay down between them, and he did with little to no hesitation. Cole’s back rested against my chest, his head finding a home near my shoulder. I wrapped my legs around his own and swiftly covered up with the blanket.
“You finished decorating without me?” I heard him sniff quietly, still recovering from the crying fit he had minutes ago.
“It had to get done.” I rested a hand on his head, gently combing my fingers through his hair. “I left Rudolph for you.” I gestured toward the coffee table with my free hand.
“Are we still visiting my family over Christmas?”
“Absolutely, Cole.” I smiled. “You’ve been looking forward to that since November.” When the silence settled between us, I moved my free hand to rest atop one of his own. I dragged my thumb across his knuckles, traced the lines in his hand, flipped it over to massage his palm.
“I just want it to be over.. ya know?” Cole’s voice was barely above a whisper.
“What do you want to be over?” I matched his volume, continuing to rub his hand and play with his hair. One little change might throw him off.
“I just wanna be good again.” He sighed, turning his head against my shoulder to look up at the ceiling.
“At hockey?”
“Yeah. I can’t even hit the net.” Cole closed his eyes, trying to hide his frustrations.
“Give it time, Cole. It’s all a part of recovery. It’s not a linear thing.” I whispered. “And we’re gonna go visit your family in a week. You should be focused on that. I know you wanna be back on the ice, but if you rush you could hurt yourself.”
“What if they don’t resign me?” My movement halted. I lifted my head from the pillow to peek down at him.
“Why would they do that?”
“Because I can’t play.”
“Cole.” I squeezed his hand. “You’re gonna recover. You’ll get back to playing hockey. Your skill hasn’t just gone away.” I could understand his concerns to a degree, but I knew these worries were all in his head. “If they decide to ship you off it’s because they’re morons. It’ll have nothing to do with your recovery. Injuries happen, and you can’t control them.” His silence was deafening. Sometimes I hated how hard Cole thought about things.
“I really like it in Montreal.”
“Cole.” A tension accompanied my tone. One that made his eyes fall toward the opposite end of the couch. “You can’t trap yourself in this endless cycle of negative thoughts.” I began to play with his hair once again. “What if they do want you? What if you recover so well that they decide to sign you for more years? What if you get a better contract than the last? What if this injury turns you into a superstar?” Cole shifted against me, clearly displeasured by the combative tactic I was using.
“Okay?”
“Cole. Anything can happen. Good or bad. You can’t control it.. so let’s just not think about it. It’s tearing you apart.”
“Because it’s my future! Don’t you get it?” Cole sat up, careful not to hurt me. I was quick to sit up as well, folding my legs criss-crossed on the couch as I watched his head fall into his hands. His once calm breathing began to pick up once again.
“The future isn’t going to sneak up on you Cole! The future is a second from now. A day, three days. It’s a fucking week or a month. It’s not going to come and assault you in an alleyway one day. You’re thinking too much. The physician, physical therapist, your coaches, they’re all working with you. They’re all making sure you get back on the ice. And they’ve been telling you that you’re recovering well. You’re doing great! Why don’t you see that?” I was impatient as I waited for an answer. Waited for Cole to look at me, or show some sign of understanding.
“I don’t know.” His voice quivered again. His chest heaved with a deep and quiet cry. He desperately needed that week off. He needed that week with his family. With his mother and his dog. Olive was the best at cheering Cole up.
I slid across the couch, draping one of my arms over his back as Cole cried quietly.
“It’s okay to be worried,” I whispered, resting my other hand on his thigh. “But you can’t let it consume you. You have to talk to people.” I didn’t know how we got there, but I knew it was because of his own stubborn behaviors. If he simply would have spoken to me before, we could have worked this out. And even despite knowing that, I couldn’t be mad. I couldn’t blame Cole for whatever reason he chose not to communicate, because I knew he didn’t do it to spite me or hurt me for not understanding. “You can’t let yourself get here, Cole. This constant state of panic won’t help anything.” I pressed a kiss to his head. “Things are going to turn out okay, but you need to allow yourself to see that. Please
let me help you see that.” I felt his body lean into my own, and I wrapped my arms around him once again. “There’s nothing to worry about.” I whispered, “take it one day at a time.”

Lacy, oh, Lacy, skin like puff pastry
Aren’t you the sweetest thing on this side of Hell?
Dear angel Lacy, eyes white as daisies
Did I ever tell you that I’m not doin’ well?
Ever since you could remembered it had always been you and Cole, the first picture taken of you two was the day of your birth, two days after Cole’s. Your dads meet at work, and quickly became best friends, and so did your moms when they met. When they all found out they got pregant around the same time, they were over the moon, already knowing their kids would be best friends.
And they were right. The two of you spent everyday together, your moms always taking walks with the two of you when you were still babies. When you became toddlers, playdates happened almost every evening when you’d get back from daycare. Cole was by your side when the two of you started kindergarten, graduated elementary school, started middle school, graduated middle school, and when you started high school. You were there for each other through it all.
You went to Cole’s games every weekends and week nights, even going away for a tournament with him and his family during spring break of 8th grade. It was like your two families became one the day you were born, something neither of your parents minded. The longest period of time you were apart was maybe five days when you went to visit your grandparents out of town in 9th grade.
Of course, that all changed when Cole made the NTDP team, meaning he would have to move to Michigan for the whole season. You were happy for him, obviously, but the fact that you’d be losing your best friend pained you. The two of you promised to talk everyday, but of course things always got in the way with his busy schedule and you started to work a part time job.
Eventually, your daily phone calls turned into weekly phone calls, and then every two weeks, and eventually you wouldn’t hear from him for a whole months some times. It hurt, of course it did, you always saw his snapchat stories of him and his new friends having fun, messing around, and he couldn’t even find the time to send you simple text.
You didn’t really understand where his sudden lack of communication came from, but it all quickly made sense when you found out from his brother that he had gotten a girlfriend, one that clearly wasn’t comfortable with how close the two of you were. You had cried in Brock’s arms that night, Cole couldn’t even bother to tell you himself about this, instead finding out from Brock when he was in town for a game.
When your mom told you Cole would be coming home the next week, your reaction confused her. You didn’t show any signs of happiness at the thought of being reunited with your best friend, instead just shrugging and mumbling a small okay. Later that night, your mom called yours, and she was as surprised as your mom about your reaction, neither you or Cole had mention about a falling out, and the two of you barely ever argued.
Cole’s mom questioned him when he came home, asking if anything had happened between the two of you, the boy quick to answer with a simple no. He hadn’t asked to stop by your house before going home, something he always did when he’d come back from an away tournament, something she found really odd.
When your parents mentioned going to the Caufield’s house that night for dinner, you lied and said you had work. Your parents questioned you about it, you hadn’t mentioned having a shift that night, so you lied again, saying you had to cover for someone else’s shift. They didn’t believe you, at all, but clearly going to see Cole wasn’t something you wanted to do, so they didn’t push it.
You didn’t hear from him the whole summer, but to be fair, you hadn’t reached out to him either. It was like he became a total stranger in the last year, slowly slipping away from you, and he did nothing to stop it.
But that all changed the day before he left to go back to Michigan. You had woken up that morning with a text from him, asking to meet up at your usual spot at 11. You accepted, of course you did, all you’ve wanted since the boy left the previous year was to see him again.
You were sitting in the same booth the two of you always sat, watching your phone as the seconds ticked by. Then, 20 seconds before the clock hit 11, he walked in. His skin was tan, his hair a little longer than usually, the only thing that hadn’t changed was his height.
“Hey.” He spoke softly as he sat down in front of you. Your eyes were piercing through his as your mouth stayed closed. “It’s nice to see you.” He added once he realized you were not going to great him back. His words made you nod a bit as your eyes stayed focused on him. He looked so different, but he still looked like your Cole, the one you spent every second of every day with for sixteen years.
“Mhm.”
“I wasn’t sure you were gonna answer me, honestly.” He admitted, even the way he talked had changed. You finally looked away from him, and instead down at the menu. He knew you were doing it simply because you didn’t want to look at him, the two of you had gotten the same thing here ever since the first time you came after one of his hockey game.
“Wasn’t sure I was ever gonna hear from you, honestly.” You mocked him a little. The boy in front of you sighed as he looked down at the menu as well.
“I am sorry.” Was all he could say, making you scoff before looking back up at him. His head was straight, but his eyes were still staring at the menu.
“Fuck you, Cole. I haven’t heard from you in almost nine months and all you have to say is I am sorry?”
“I know, I know. I fucked up, okay? Trust me, I know. And I am so sorry, Y/N/N, it’s just Bella
She wasn’t comfortable with how close we were.”
“So you decided to pretty much just end our seventeen years of friends for some girl you just met? Thanks, Cole, that just makes me feel so much better, truly.” You spoke, your voice laced with sarcasm.
“I didn’t end our friendship-”
“Oh, then what was it? ‘Cause last time I checked, you just decided to not answer me anymore, without giving me any type of explanation. For fuck’s sake, I had to find out from Brock that you had a girlfriend. I though we promised we’d always tell each other everything! You could’ve just told me how she felt and I would’ve backed off instead of just cutting me off like that. How do you think I’ve been feeling since you left? Have you ever thought about that?” You said, making him go speechless. Luckily for him, a waitress came and took your order. Cole started, going with his usual, but his eyes quickly focused on you when he heard you select something else off the menu.
“You changed your order?”
“Yeah, you’d know if you hadn’t cut me off.” You sassed, making the boy sigh slightly before looking down at his lap.
“Y/N/N
” The boy sighed, his eyes looking back up at you. “I’m sorry, I really am. I shouldn't'
I shouldn’t have pushed you away, and I am sorry I hurt you.”
“You should be. I had to find out from Brock if you were even still aliv. Have you even thought about how I’ve been feeling? First, you leave, promising we’ll talk everyday, and then you cut me off like we haven’t been friends since we were literally born.” You said, tears starting to form in your eyes, but you quickly blinked them away. You had already cried enough because of you.ïżœïżœ
“I know, I know. I am so sorry, Y/N/N. Let me make it up to you, please.” He begged, and you could tell he was being honest. Nothing about his body language was showing you that he was telling you the truth, you just knew. You always knew.
“Promise me, when you leave again, you won’t do the same thing. Promise me, Cole.” It was now your turn to beg. You wanted nothing more in the world than to get your friendship back, but you did not want to get hurt again. You refused to get hurt again.
“I promise. I promise, Y/N.” He whispered, his eyes staring right into yours. You nodded slightly, sniffling a little, and the two of you sat in silence until your meal arrived. You slowly started catching up, Cole telling you about his new life in Michigan, while you updated him on all the drama from your high school. When the topic of his girlfriend came up, you stiffened slightly. You knew she was reason he had stopped talking to you, and you knew they were still together since you saw them not long ago. You only wondered if she knew he was here with you.
“Her name’s Alana, I really think you’d love her. She reminded me a lot about you at first, I think that’s why I was so drawn to her.” He explained, a smile you had never seen before plastered on his face. Those words were exactly the ones you didn’t want to hear. He hadn’t just pushed you aside, he replaced you. He found someone to fill the gap in his life that was missing.
“Your mom talks about her sometimes, she seems great.” You said, forcing a smile onto your face. The truth was, from what you had heard from Kelly, she was nothing like you. Not only physically, but also in the way she behaved. She seemed a lot more outgoing and high-energized, just like Cole.
They were a great match, you thought. Perfect for each other. But then, the conversation you over heard your mom having the night before while you were in the kitchen and she was in the living room replayed in your mind. Kelly claiming something felt off about his girlfriend, sometimes giving the family weird looks while she was at their house. In the moment, you didn’t think much about it, but now it kept playing in your head. Cole loved his family so much, they held a very special and important place in his heart, so would he be okay with his girlfriend not getting along with them?
You wanted to ask him, you really did, but you knew you shouldn’t. Questions about how you knew that information would be asked, and having to explain that you just overheard a silly little conversation your moms had on speaker phone would be weird to explain. So, you stayed quiet.
Ooh, I care, I care, I care
Like perfume that you wear, I linger all the time
Watching, hidden in plain sight
And ooh, I try, I try, I try
But it takes over my life, I see you everywhere
The sweetest torture one could bear
When Cole left for Michigan again, your friendship was almost what it used to be. There were multiple things that hadn’t picked up again, like your weekly movies night cuddling on the couch in his basement. He has a girlfriend, he can’t just cuddle with a girl now, you had to remind yourself every time you’d think about it.
It felt weird, like the guy in front of you wasn’t the one you grew up with, like he was replaced by some stranger. But it was him, it was Cole’s eyes staring back at you, not some stranger’s, his smile lighting up the whole room, his voice echoing in the house. It was Cole, just not your Cole.
Thankfully, he had kept his promise of keeping contact with you, face timing you once a week, and texting you everyday. But it was all so different. He was always busy, either with hockey, or hanging out with Alana, and when he wasn’t busy, he was sleeping. It was hard, but it all changed when he came home from the holidays, alone.
Your families shared a Christmas evening, giving each other gifts, talking during dinner around the table and in front of the fireplace. Festive songs were playing the whole time, the volume so low you couldn’t hear it if multiple conversations were taking place. Eventually, you ended up in Cole’s room, laying on his bed as he sat on his desk chair.
“I have somethin’ for you.” He mumbled, sitting up and walking over to his closet. He pulled out a letter, your nickname written messily on the front of it. “Wrote it when we were, I don’t know, seven maybe. Found it when I came back last summer, thought it’d be a good time to give it to you.” He explained, handing you the envelope.
“You had a horrible handwriting when we were young, there’s no way I can read a whole letter of this.” You joked, pointing at the messy letters that spelt your name.
“Shut up and read the damn thing, Y/N/N.” He whispered, his cheeks turning a little red front your teasing. He was now next to you, sitting next to you as you pushed yourself up. You carefully opened it, pulling the letter out carefully.
Dear Y/N/N,
I donot kno when you will read tis but I want to tel you that you are my favorite person ever. You are a great bestfriend and I hope you will be in my lyfe for a long time. I realy enjoi when you come to my gamez, I play a lot bedder when you are tere. I think you are very prety two Jacob talk about it all the time. I wish when you read this we are stil bestfriend becoze I love you so moch.
Cole :)
You couldn’t help but laugh at the spelling mistake he had made, Cole was probably the worst kid in your class at spelling, while you were one of the best. You felt your heart warm up at the thought of seven year old Cole writing this, the sweet smile of his on his face as he messily wrote.
Cole was reading the letter over your shoulder, he hadn’t opened the envelope when he found it, wanting you to read it before him. His cheeks redden a bit again as he read the second to last sentence, coughing a bit as he looked away.
“That’s real sweet, Coley.” You whispered, looking over at him with a soft smile once you were done reading the letter. “Your spelling wasn’t cute, but you know, you learned.”
“Okay, considering I was seven, I think I did pretty good.”
“You did, you did.” You mumbled as you wrapped your arms around him, his going to your waist as the two of you sat there for a couple of minutes, holding each other close. Well, that was until you were interrupted by the sound of his phone ringing, Alana’s contact popping up the screen.
“Sorry.” He said, picking up his phone and leaving the room. You couldn’t help the heartache you felt as he left you for her, once again. It wasn’t right, you shouldn’t be feeling so jealous towards her for having his attention, but you were. You had been feeling this way ever since he left for Michigan, you didn’t understand it at first, but now it was all so clear to you.
You loved Cole the way he love Alana.
Smart, sexy Lacy, I’m losin’ it lately
I feel your compliments like bullets on my skin
Dazzling starlet, Bardot reincarnate
Well, aren’t you the greatest thing to ever exist?
The next summer, right before the draft, you finally met Alana. Her hair sat perfectly, her outfit hugging her perfect body as the two arrived at the restaurant. Your parents decided to have a night out to celebrate the two of you finishing high school, and of course since Alana was in town, she was invited.
You were sitting next to Brock, Cole in front of his brother and Alana in front of you. Your parents were in their own little worlds, your moms gossiping about who knows what, and your dads talking about sports like always.
“You look really pretty.” Alana said after a couple of minutes of the two of you being quiet and listening to the brothers. You were previously focused on the two, but your eyes quickly moved over to her when you heard her voice. It was so sweet, like an angel had just talked. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Cole look over at her briefly, a grin appearing on his face.
You knew she was trying to be nice, befriend you since you were such an important part of her boyfriend’s life. Yet her words made a bullet shaped hole form in your heart. A year ago she had pretty much forced Cole to leave you behind and forget you even existed, and here she was, trying to be all friendly and nice to you.
“You too.” You mumbled, thankfully the server arrived at the same time, taking your orders meaning your conversation witht he girl wouldn’t continue any longer.
“So, Alana, where are you going to college next year?” Your mom asked once all your plates had arrived and you all started eating.
“Wisconsin.” She answered with a smile, smiling shortly at Cole before looking over to your mom. Great. Now you’d be stuck having to see them together every single day next year. Fucking amazing.
In the car ride home, the only thing your mom was capable of talking about was how amazing Alana was. Alana this, Alana that. You were so fucking tired of hearing everyone talk about this girl all the time. You tried to block out her words until your name was mentioned.
“Honestly, Y/N, I always thought you and Cole were going to end up dating one day, but this Alana girl, god, she’s perfect for him!” She exclaimed, unaware of your burning crush for the youngest Caufield siblings. That was the last thing you needed to hear your own mother say. When you finally arrived home, you were quick to make your way to your room, locking the door and going to sleep.
The next morning you woke up to a couple of texts from both boys, but mainly from Brock, asking if you were okay and why you hadn’t answered either of them. Normally, whenever you wouldn’t text the siblings after telling them you would, Cole would text for hours, spamming you letters just so you would answer. One time, he almost came over to your house at midnight after you hadn’t text him for ten hours.
This time it was different thought. Cole had only left two messages, compared to the hundreds he used to send.
Hey you get home okay?
Are you alright?
That was it. No, do I need to come over? Did something happen? Is everyone okay? Answer me please. Nothing. Not even a good night, granted you didn’t text him that either, but it all just felt so weird. It was like your friendship was back, but with an obstacle that made it impossible for the two of you to go back to how your friendship was before he left for Michigan. The obstacle being Alana, of course.
You eventually texted them, telling the both of them that you had fallen asleep almost as soon as you got home and forgot to text them. Brock answered you almost immediately, while Cole didn’t answer you until later that night. You found out during the afternoon that him and Alana were spending the day together, just them, meaning all Cole was focused on was her. Not you, her.
Ooh, I care, I care, I care
Like ribbons in your hair, my stomach’s all in knots
You got the one thing that I want
Ooh, I try, I try, I try
Try to rationalize, people are people
But it’s like you’re made of angel dust
You never thought of yourself has a greedy person, well that was until Alana, of course. You hated her. You had been in Cole’s life since the beginning, literally, you were there for him through every step of his career, whether that be his first game to away tournaments. You were there for all of it. Until you weren’t.
You weren’t the first person he hugged after his game anymore, and you sure as hell weren’t the first he hugged when he got drafted by Montreal. You weren’t even in Vancouver, the boy completely forgetting to ask for a ticket for you. So, here you were, on your couch watching as Cole smiled brightly into the camera, the habs jersey engulfing him.
You knew it was rubbish, he shouldn’t have gotten picked at the fifteenth spot. He was so much better than many guys that got drafted before him, but you knew deep down why the teams had chosen them over him. He was too small. Guys before him were almost all at least half a foot taller than him, stronger than him, of course general managers and scouts would look at them before him. But if going fifteenth meant getting drafted by the Canadians, then you were fine with it.
When you were kids, the Caufield siblings would always talk about one day being the coach of the Canadians, even going as far as taking French classes in high school. Back then, you would all just laugh about it, but now here he was, getting drafted by them. You couldn’t remember the last time you had felt so proud of him, this moment not even coming close to when he told you he made the NTDP squad.
Tears formed in your eyes as you watched your lifelong best friend, who felt like home and a completely stranger at the same time, accomplish his dream. Yet your heart ached as the camera showed his family, Brock and Alana sharing a hug as they all cheered for him. That should’ve been your spot.
You had been there for everything, and suddenly this girl just shows up and takes your spot? It made you angry, so angry. She had everything you wanted, she had the one boy you ever wanted. Knowing you’d have to be on the same campus as them next year only making it hurt so much more. You’d be stuck seeing her be with him every single day. See her enjoy having the one thing you’ve ever truly wanted.
You hated yourself for not realizing your feelings for the boy sooner, maybe if you had you’d be the one wearing his new jersey at the moment. Instead, you’re laying on your bed, Brock on the other line of the phone since Cole was apparently too busy to answer you.
“It was weird.” The oldest sibling stated, making you fur your brows slightly.
“What do you mean?” You questioned.
“Not having you there. It was so peaceful, I loved it.” The boy joked making you roll your eyes as a grin grew on your face. Brock laughed, clearly proud of the very sad joke he had made.
“It was so obvious I wasn’t there. I would’ve never let you walk out the hotel room with that suit.” You teased, making the boy gasp a bit.
“Was it really that bad?” He whispered after a couple of seconds making you giggle a bit.
“No. You looked great.”
“I am serious though, Y/N/N. It was weird not having you there. I know Cole will never admit it, but he regrets not inviting you, you know.” The boy told you, his tone going from a light one to a very serious one.
“Is it bad if I say I am not that mad I am not there?” You mumbled after a short period of silence. Your words confused the boy on the other end of the line.
“What? But you and Cole have been talking about this for years. He should’ve invited you.” Brock stated, getting a little worked up at the end. “You’re more family than she is.”
“She’s more important to Cole than me. She’s his best friend now, not me.” You told the boy. You had been thinking about it for a while, but saying the words out loud hurt so much more than you though it would.
“He’s being stupid. He remembered to invite some of our cousins we haven’t seen since we were babies, but forgot you? He’s so fucking stupid.”
“She doesn’t want me there. She thinks of me as like
an obstacle, I guess. I was getting in the way of her relationship with him at the beginning, she asked him to stop talking to me and he did. I wouldn’t be surprised if she asked him not to invite me and he agreed.”
“Do you? Get in the way?” You knew he wasn’t asking it in a rude way. He just wanted to know if you had done something to make her act that way about you.
“No. At least I don’t think so. But if Cole would’ve told me before they started dating that he was seeing, I probably would’ve became one on purpose.” You admitted into the phone, leaving Brock a little shock.
“You love him?”
“Yeah. I hate her for taking him away from him, but she makes him so happy. She makes him happy, not me.” You cried out, tears starting to form in the brim of your eyes.
“Does he know?” The boy asked. You scoffed loudly, blinking the tears away before they fell on your cheeks.
“Of course not.”
“Are you gonna tell him?”
“And give her a reason to actually think of me as an obstacle and possible lose my friendship with Cole? Absolutely not.”
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
The first month of college surprisingly went quite smoothly, you barely ever ran into Cole and Alana. But that all changed when the first game of the season approached, Brock asking you to be there of course. Being so close with Cole meant you had also always been there for Brock’s big moments in the show. You were for his first USHL and College game, having to skip a little school sometimes. But now you had no excuse not to come.
So, here you were in the stands of the Khol centre, your friends standing next to you as the crowd cheered the Badgers on. Alana was sitting a couple of rows in front, sitting with the friends she had made over the last month and a half. You couldn’t help the jealously you felt every time your eyes landed on her, a Wisconsin jersey hiding her frame, C. Caufield written on the back.
Your feeling only grew stronger when you made your way down to where Brock had told you to wait, which was of course where Cole told Alana to wait for him. The two brothers came out at the same time, the girl next to you letting out a squeal when her eyes landed on Cole.
“You were amazing, babe!” She exclaimed as she threw her arms around him. Thankfully, the eldest sibling came in front of you, hiding the couple from your line of sight.
“Thank you for coming, munch.” He mumbled, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and bringing you into his chest. He didn’t use that nickname often, only during moments where he was really thankful to have you there.
Your friendship with Brock was one you held so close to your heart, he was like the brother you never had, and you were the sister you never had. You could always talk to him about anything, whether that be something stupid you did, or just wanting to gossip. He had helped you with your nerves on your first day of high school, giving you a tour of the place himself before class started. He was one of your favourite person ever.
Another reason why you were so scared of telling Cole how you felt about him. What if that meant losing Brock as well, and their parents. You didn’t know how you’d survive without him in your life, he was somehow always right there when you needed someone, becoming more of a comfort person than Cole was.
“Let’s get out of here, I am hungry.” The boy told you after looking over his shoulder, getting glimpse of his brother and his girlfriend deep in a make-out session. He made sure you didn’t see them, but the sound of their kisses was something he just couldn’t hide from you.
“They’re disgusting, anyone could see them.” You mumbled as the two of you walked away from the couple, Brock’s arm still around your shoulder. The boy chuckled slightly as he opened the door for you.
“Be glad you’re not his roommate. Think I might have to invest in earplugs soon.” He joked, making a sour look creep up on your face.
“You can come crash at mine if you ever need, you know.” You told him. Brock had always been there for you, helping you through though situation, it was always fair for you to return the favour.
“Got place for an extra tonight?”
Lacy, oh Lacy, it’s like you’re out to get me
You poison every little thing that I do
Lacy, oh Lacy, I just loath you lately
And I despise my jealous eyes and how hard they fell for you
Yeah, I despise my rotten mind and how much it worships you
As the year went by, your feelings towards Cole’s girlfriend slowly became mixed. You couldn’t help but hate her, but you also envied her so much at the same time. You wanted to be her, you wanted to live her life. Be the most important person in Cole’s life, but most importantly have the boy look at you like you hung the moon.
But that was never going to happen. You would always be second in Cole’s life from now on, meaning you’d eventually have to move on from this overwhelming crush you had on him. Even if the two of them ever broke up, he’d find another girl to take her spot, a girl that wouldn’t be you either. You were his childhood best friend, and that’s all you were every going to be to him.
You hated it, but you eventually found yourself trying to become another version of Alana. Picking up on some of her little quirks and manners, something that didn’t go unnoticed by the older Caufield.
“You’ve been acting weird lately.” Brock stated as the two of you sat on the couch of his shared dorm apartment with Cole. You furred your brows slightly, lifting your head from his chest and looking at up.
“What? No I am not.” You scoffed, only making the boy next to you sigh.
“But you are. You switched your coffee order, the order you’ve had for four years. You switched from silver jewlery to gold, you’ve been doing your hair differently, you dress completely the opposite of how you used to. It’s like
it’s like your trying to become Alana.” He mumbled the last part. Now it was your turn to scoff.
“‘M not.”
“But you are. Gosh, Y/N/N, you even talked about dying your hair the same colour as hers. Look, if this is how you plan on getting Cole to look at you differently, you need to stop. Becoming someone you’re not isn’t going to help you, it’s only gonna hurt you.”
“Then what’s gonna help me, Brock?” You asked harshly, fidgeting with your fingers. The boy next to you sighed once again before answering you softly.
“You need to move on, munch. I know you don’t want to hear this, but Cole loves Alana. I mean yeah, he had like the biggest crush on you when you guys were in third grade, but he moved on, and so should you.” He explained softly. His words hurt, a lot, but you knew they were true. “Why not me? Why her, and not me?”

Authors Note: This the first part of a series I plan on writing where I take one mental health issue or any type of disorder and pick a player to write about how they would react if their significant other had it. Let me love you masterlist main masterlist
Sometimes your brain likes to remind you that you were in fact not a normal happy person. It was an act that you’ve learned to master over the years, sometimes you're such a good actor you even fool yourself. Until your brain reminds you that you are in fact an actor. Someone who plays a part, and it will happen in a flash. Feeling as if you're having a good day, and then suddenly you hear a song that reminds you of something and you start to feel that exhausted and craving your bed. Or you will be out with friends and they remind you of something they find funny but it only reminds you of how much you were struggling at the time. Although the worst one was when you don’t even know the trigger, you could have been having a great time and then suddenly you will be on your couch for the next three days rotting away.
The worst part was this time, it’s almost like you felt the signs but ignored it. It started with the fact that it had been a stressful week at work, then you felt tired all the time, you found yourself being late to work simply because you couldn’t get yourself out of bed. Sadly, you were used to this popping up every once in while, knowing it was inevitable to get this all too familiar sadly almost welcoming feeling in your head. It’s like you had a brain fog come over and no matter what you did you couldn’t shake the feeling. But this time was different from all the others, this time you were dating the actual definition of a very hyper individual who always had some joke to say or a smile on his face. Cole was quickly becoming one of your favorite human beings but you didn’t want him to see you like this where you haven’t even taken a shower in 2 days. Cole was one of those people that radiated sunshine and it made you sink further into your couch thinking about how he would react to you right now. Again, your brain makes you think that he would judge you like others have for when your brain made you hate yourself. Thankfully, Cole was on a roadie so what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him.
Knowing that you should probably answer Cole’s messages or answer one of his many facetime calls but you just couldn’t bring yourself to. Somehow during the last couple days, your mind seemed to alter your perception of time. Thinking that Cole would still be on his roadie for at least another day. But suddenly you heard banging on your apartment door.
“Baby?! Open the door please.” Cole pleaded on the other side of the door. Hearing his voice shocked you to your core, part of you wanted to open the door and tackle him. Allowing yourself to feel his comforting warmth hoping that some of it would make you feel even a tiny bit better. The rest of you were screaming to pull yourself more into the hoodie that you were wearing, pulling the blankets higher up to hide your body from the world. Letting your emotions overtake you when you realized you were wearing Cole’s hoodie because you wanted him more than anything 3 days ago when you started your couch rotting. It’s funny how time can change things, because nothing could get you up now and walk 30 feet to go open your apartment door.
Cole’s pleas and banging didn’t stop, “baby please! Tell me what I did.” he begged through the door. “y/n?” he said much softer than before, you could barely hear it from where you were hiding in your living room. “Please open up or I’m gonna use my key you gave me for emergencies.” The tears that were lightly streaming down your face now full on ugly crying. Of course that was the moment Cole decided to enter your apartment.
Hearing the door shut behind him as he entered your apartment. “Love where are you?” he asked, before he noticed what appeared to be the shape of your body on the coach. Once Cole did notice you, it was like he was on his knees in front of the sectional in seconds, even though he was on the other side of the apartment. “Mamas you awake, my love?” he asked gently as you felt him taking his palm and rub comforting circles all down your side. As your body registered his voice and processed words and touched your silent sobs became very much more real and loud.
“Hey shhh babygirl whats wrong?” he asked as his other hand not rubbing circles now your back went to grab the edge of the blanket. In a quiet voice Cole spoke his next words very carefully.  “Honey, baby I'm gonna remove the blanket okay.”
His voice was telling you that he wasn’t asking but you didn’t care as you started to protest. “No no don’t” your voice started to crack “no I don’t want you to.” As you grabbed the blanket to keep it from moving.
“Why not?” you could tell in his voice that he was feeling hurt.
“I don’t want you to see me like this.” softly you admit not sure if your confession was more of admitting to Cole you didn’t want him to see you or confirming what your body was telling you earlier.
His voice barely over a whisper “what? Did I hurt you? Baby you haven’t answered a single one of my texts in 2 days, I spent most of today trying to not panic as I called your phone. Please baby let me see if you're okay?” Hearing his voice on the last few words and how he seemed to be fighting his own emotions. Feeling as if your own heart broke at that moment, the last thing you wanted to do was bring Cole down with you.
“You're gonna judge me.” you mumble, most of you knows that your thoughts are irrational but the part of your brain that’s calling the shots at the moment truly believes.
“Never.” his voice stern. With that yoo you couldn’t help but let out a little okay. Within seconds you could feel Cole slowly pulling back the safety of your blankets. Only pulling them down enough to see your face. “Hi beautiful.” he grins at you, the relief clear not only in his voice but his face as his eyes are finally able to see you after being radio silent for 2 days.
He moves your head so that you're looking up at him as he asks you “please tell me what’s wrong.” He moves his hands so that they are able to wipe some of the tears off your face.
“I don’t know.” your voice squeaking. Finally letting your eyes focus on him, you see his face is full of nothing but worry. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I-”
“You’re okay. I’m not mad, baby
I just- I want to know what’s going on in your head.” he admits, and your stomach drops at his confession. Loving Cole was one of your favorite things in your entire life, but Cole was different, he had this way of always being happy. How could someone who you have never even seen to have a frown on his face understand that your brain sometimes fights itself. Leaving you feeling as if even doing the most basic mundane task is out of reach and you don’t even know why.
Cole has never seen you struggle with your depression and it’s a lot. On top of his busy schedule due to being in the middle of the season, trying to move up from third line or second. Somehow your brain has convinced you all in a matter of minutes that Cole doesn’t have time to sit back and watch you fight your battles. You didn’t even realize that you were lost in thought until you heard Cole’s voice again.
“Baby” his voice is soft but loud enough for your brain to register that someone was speaking to you.
“I- I- sometimes I just - my brain it's like it.” Struggling to say what you want to say, finding the words to describe how much you truly feel like death at the moment.
“Is it a dark day?” he asks gently. You look at him in shock, “it’s okay to have a bad day every once in a while honey. Just please don’t push me away.” softly bending down and kissing your forehead, your body automatically chasing his lips as they leave your forehead.
“What if it’s more than a day?” you ask.
“Then I’ll be here please just let me love you.” he asks.
“Okay.” feeling yourself caving, allowing Cole to help you, it's almost like your body felt just a sliver of lightness for the first time in days, knowing that Cole felt the same way with the smile he had on his face.
He moved his hands so they were under your arms gently lifting you so he could lay comfortably with you on the coach. “Okay we can lay here for a little longer, then I’m gonna help you shower and get some clean sweats on alright?”
All you can do is nod, feeling overwhelmed with the love that Cole is showing you. Cole stayed true to his words after a few minutes he picked you up and carried you to the bathroom. Balancing on the balls of his feet in front of you on the toilet seat, his hands resting in yours on your thighs. He already turned on the water to warm up “Do you want me to stay or are you gonna shower by yourself.”
“Don’t leave.” the phrase rushing out of you, feeling scared if you didn’t get it out fast enough Cole would leave you again with nothing left but your thoughts to keep you company.
“I won’t until you tell me. We can shower together it’s okay” Finally making eye contact with him again, a giant pout on your lips looking as if you were gonna cry again. He took one of his hands that was resting with yours and took it to your face. “Hey hey you're alright. I promise. This will pass.” Finally moving his lips to yours for the first time since he came over, it was full of nothing less than the love he felt for you. He poured every single emotion into that kiss, it made you feel loved, safe, adored, cared for. Finally pulling apart you whisper a small ‘thanks.’ “Let’s get you cleaned up baby.” As he helps you undress and then quickly shedding his own clothes before helping you in the shower. He helped you wash your body and your hair, giving you little wet kisses all over your body, whispering reassuring words between the kisses. He wasn’t trying to start anything, he just wanted to show you how much he loved you when you couldn’t find anything to love about yourself.
Cole stayed with you that night, actually his only entire weekend off. He had to go to morning skate that Monday morning since it wasn’t optional. But from that weekend on you never felt closer to Cole. He was your light even on your darkest days, and he helped you find yourself every time you felt your depression pulling you away. Every time he noticed you randomly ghosted him. Or seemed distant in your eyes like your mind was somewhere else, he would always ask you one simple question “is today a dark day?” so that he always knew how to care for his girl.

"shh, baby you gotta stay quiet." cole whispered breathlessly in your ear as he fucked you into the mattress, holding on to the headboard above to get more momentum. you couldn't even process his words as you nodded in 'understanding.'
you were both staying at a hotel in new york for a game and all his teammates were on this floor. if you kept being loud, he would surely get teased for the next few weeks. but did he really mind? not really.
he didn't even try to keep you quiet as he kept thrusting into your cunt, holding on to your hips harshly. your eyes rolled in the back of your head as loud moans left your bruised lips. your moans were at raw as they get ─ you weren't even exaggerating.
if cole really wanted you to keep quiet, he'd put a hand over your mouth or slow down ─ but he was doing it on purpose. he loved showing off how hot you were to all his friends, especially after they all said he couldn't pull you, and especially when you rejected jack hughes for him. not only did he pull you, he could make you scream louder than any of them ever could, and cole would be a liar if he didn't show off the scratches on his back in the locker room.
he rocked the bed forward with each powerful thrust, your legs shaking at the impact. you were close, he felt it as you held onto him a little tighter. "come for me, princess."
and with that, you let go completely ─ cumming all over his cock, your mouth hung open at that. with a few more harsh thrusts, he was cumming right along with you.
cole leaned down to give you a kiss but before he could proceed, the hotel phone rung. as you caught your breath, cole answerred.
"we've received some noise complaints from your room." the lady said nervously through the phone.
he nodded as a cocky smirk came onto his lips. he wasn't the slightest bit sorry for his actions. in fact, he was rather proud of his accomplishment. "yeah of course. sorry 'bout that. have a good night."

"Your hand feels so much better than mine", requested by @sidcrobsimp <3 luv u boss
Warnings: service kink, praise kink, handjob, mention of fingering WC: 707
Tumblr media
You might have a bit of a service kink. You’ve been writing it off by saying that your love language is Acts of Service. It wasn’t always. Honestly, it’s not your fault that you’ve grown to love showing your affection through service, considering the way Cole praises you whenever you do something for him. It’s like you’ve been conditioned: you want to give and give and give until Cole says something that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Like now: you and Cole are watching a movie before bed and his hand had drifted to the front of his boxers absentmindedly, holding himself comfortably the way you do when you’re close to falling asleep and your hand finds your boob. It’s a natural shelf, like how it’s easy to put your hands on your hips when you’re standing and waiting for something.
Most of the time, Cole’s not really touching himself when he touches himself. However, you’re always itching to get your hands, or mouth, or dripping wet cunt on him. You’ve become distracted, eyes on his hand and imagining what’s underneath it.
“Can I help you?” Cole asks with a snorted laugh.
Well, there’s no use denying that you were looking. Your mouth is probably slack with want, eyes only a bit darker than they normally are. Cole knows your tells too well. You give him a look that’s a mixture of embarrassment and exasperation, yet it still conveys your desire. You move closer to him, batting your eyelashes ad you near him.
Cole laughs again. “Alright, go ahead,” he says, moving his hand and making himself available to you. He returns his attention to the television for now, letting you do your thing without impeding.
You shift his shorts down, then dig him out of his underwear. He’s soft, but it doesn’t take long for him to grow hard under your circled fingers. You consider getting your mouth on him, biting your lip as you watch precum bubble up from his tip.
“Pay attention to the show, babe,” Cole murmurs. “You’re missing everything.”
Eager to please, you lift your head and return to the television. Your hand is pumping Cole’s length the whole time.
He reaches behind you, resting his arm along the pillows behind you like he would if you were on the couch. As you twist your wrist, just to change things up, Cole’s head falls back.
“Your hand feels so much better than my own,” Cole says. He doesn’t say it to get you to increase your pace or change anything. It’s just an acknowledgement. “Love it when you touch me, baby.”
The praise is excellent, making you want to push him over the edge. Your pace increases, squeezing just a bit tighter as you stroke him. You cuddle into Cole’s side, resting your head on his shoulder. With a brush of a kiss to the freckles that have faded into his skin, you refocus your attention on making him come. As much as you want to watch the movie with your boyfriend, you care more about the show that you’re putting on for yourself.
Cole lets out a low grown when you bring your head down and let a line of spit fall onto his cock, making it easier for you to move your hand. Your spit mixes with his precum, slicking him up. Before you return your head to his shoulder, you kiss the crown of his cock. You just wanted a taste.
Without words, you know Cole’s ready to come. He rolls his hips into your hand and kisses your head, leaning against you after the sweet peck. He always makes a choked whimper in the back of his throat when he comes, and today is no different. You watch him spill over your hand and paint your knuckles white. His chest seizes with a stuttered breath as you continue to stroke him through the orgasm, then he kisses your head again when you bring your hand up to your mouth and taste his cum.
He tucks himself away and you finish the last twenty minutes of the movie. When you get to your shared bedroom, Cole will insist on returning the favor and fingering you to completion.

Under The Mistletoe
Tumblr media
Summary: You're at the annual holiday party with the team, and you're found under the mistletoe with your hot co-worker
A/N: Did the summary eat or what? Cole is such a cutie pie... like actually just look at him
And a stranger things reference even tho I don't care much for the show anymore, very funny reference that some people might not get- long story short finn wolfhard(Mike) sees himself as a bad kisser
Tumblr media
You debated whether or not to go to the holiday party hosted by the team or to just have a cozy night in. The latter seeming tempting at the moment.
You sighed as you shook your head. You promised your co-worker Emily you would be there and make it the best night ever(her words).
Your dress hugged you well in ways you only imagined, the emerald dress fitting you perfectly.
You finally left the warmth of your car and entered the surprisingly not as loud house. Full of habs, some wags, and others part of the team.
Emily immediately squealed when she saw you, leaving a conversation.
"Oh my god, you look amazing." She hugged you tightly.
You chuckled in her embrace. "Oh uh it's nothing, you know that."
"Nothing? I never get to see you all dolled up like this. If I were your man, I wouldn't be able to take my hands off you." Emily winked.
You scoff at Emily's words. "Okay, okay, I think I know what you mean."
"Maybe tonight Cole will finally realize his undying love for you." Emily whispered, causing you to glare at her.
"No need to say it out loud." You hissed.
"Oh look, he's right over there." Emily moved you where you saw Cole laughing at something, someone had said.
Cole, feeling eyes on him, found yours and sent a warm smile.
"Go get your man!" Emily hushed as she pushed you forward.
You smiled shyly at Cole. He took a couple of steps towards you, meeting in the middle.
"Wow..." Cole looked you up and down. "You look beautiful."
"Oh thanks, didn't wanna go all out." You explained with a shrug.
"Well you look nice, you always do!" Cole exclaimed. "You um look extra nice in emerald... suits you."
"Thank you. I never wore this dress before." You smiled.
Juraj whistles. "Y/n and Cole under the mistletoe!"
That made you perk up and look up and see that, in fact, you were under the mistletoe. You two have been talking for at least five minutes? Did he know this whole time?
Cole's face was tinted pink when his eyes met yours.
"We don't have to do anything, just a dumb tradition." You told him.
Cole chuckled. "Oh no, believe me, I want to."
You kissed his cheek softly. "Well there you go."
You begin to walk away when Cole grabbed your wrist and spun you into his chest.
"Didn't know you had moves, Caufield." You say, suprised.
Cole grinned at your words. "Just wanted a kiss from a pretty girl... properly this time. Can you blame me for being ambitious?"
You lean in, feeling confident. "Then kiss me, sweetheart, no one's stopping you."
That was all Cole needed for confirmation. He leaned in. His lips met yours in a soft and sweet kiss that grew more passionate as time went on.
"Oh cole cmon don't eat her now!" Emily called out, making everyone laugh.
Cole pulled away sheepishly. "Sorry."
"It's fine, don't worry about it." You shook your head. "Let's get away from this mistletoe, seems to bring nothing but attention."
Cole laughed and led you to the kitchen. "Yeah, at least now we can kiss in here."
"Oh hell no, don't you dare make a child in my kitchen." Nick looked at the two of you with a warning look.
Cole groans in frustration. "Damn it!"
