There was no chat option for himself, so he assumed that the users likely had a direct camera and audio feed of him on their end. Even without confirmation from his visitors, he began to speak out loud.

"I... I thought I would be alone forever. It's been so long since I've had anyone to talk to, I honestly thought I'd been... scrapped."

There are seven forces of magic, namely, Passion, Desire, Joy, Hope, Trust, Clarity, and Love. To use magic, you must channel at least two of the forces. I don't really have anything beyond that.

That said, I’ll flesh out some of my ideas based on the information given in your question. Here are some questions you can use to make the magic system specific:

What is the effect of the magic? Generally, magic will either be destructive or constructive or both. Is the purpose of your magic to make a person feel the corresponding emotions? 

Does one person have only one type of magic, forcing your characters to work together?

Also consider how you’re going to differentiate the different type of magic – through the use of color, the physical appearances of the different types of magicians, different symbols, different ways of activation, etc. 

Do the different type of magic users like or dislike each other in general? 

Can this magic be learned, or must one be born into it? 

If the magic must be learnt > competitive schooling/training for aspiration magicians, unlocking different “levels” of a type of magic, is it common or rare or people to be able to use 

If the magic is born into > discrimination between magical vs. non-magical people, conflict between “superior” and “non-superior” forms of magic, etc. 

I think a magic system (apart from being a part of worldbuilding) must provide the basis for interesting conflict. Think about how you can make use of the characteristics of your magic system to pull the plot through a main conflict and back to resolution. 

For example, 

There are “good” combinations of the seven magical forces and “bad” combinations that would cancel each other out…or worse. Magicians with different types of magic either alley with each other or have long-standing beef based on how “friendly” their magic forces are to one another. 

The seven types of magic are tiered. Some magicians monopolize power and inherit it throughout generations – until the hero comes along. 

Enemies-to-lovers dynamic where the hero and heroin have to work together because they’d be useless on their own. 

You can also consider what your magic system means for us in the real world. All of your magic types are emotions. Is the ultimate moral of the story that we must be willing to embrace conflicting emotions rather than just chasing happiness? Or that every one of these is equally valuable? 

Magic systems can be satirical.

Magic systems can be a twisted version of a real-life social/governmental/corporate system, often to critique the real world.

Hello, I'm Fyki and I created this blog to post the tranlsations of the Yowamushi Pedal manga. I know many of you have been following me for a long time, but I decided to make this masterpost so that new user can know everything they need!

First things first: I am NOT a professional translator, nor am I a professional Japanese speaker. I learned Japanese precisely to be able to read Yowapeda, and then since no one else was translating it and I love this manga so much, I decided to use what little knowledge I had to translate it. This is to say that these translations contain errors, especially those of the older chapters.

2. You can find everything in this Google Drive folder: LINK

3. Translations start from chapter 422, which corresponds to the end of the fourth season of the anime - basically, translations start from the start of the third day of the second Inter High. Chapter 424 has only the last few pages translated, and chapter 425 is not translated - for both it's because I didn't tranlsate the scenes that were already in the last episode of the anime.

4. Some chapters are typesetted, but mostly they aren't. When I first started I was trying to typeset too, but it was too much work; then during the years some people offered to give me a hand and that's why some chapters are typesetted. For the non typesetted chapters, in each folder there's the raw pages and the translations file.

5. Everything is also here on tumblr at @yowapeda-translations. That was my first blog, but then tumblr for some reason flagged it as containing mature contents, and that created some problems with the search and the visibility, which is why I made this new blog.

6. I post the new chapter every week, usually during the weekend, so you expect it between Friday and Sunday, depending on how long it is, how difficult, and how much time I have.

7. I LOVE talking about this manga, it's the reason I started doing this in the first place! So if you wanna chat, share theories, fangirl together, please do!! I am extremely slow in replying to asks and messages, but that's because I have little time, but I promise you I will reply!

I often find myself wondering if the way I have been living my life is correct. Is there a right way to live?

🍂Many of my days are summed up in preparing a good coffee and reading a book in the morning. From then on comes the tasks of life, university, work and many other things. I'm not a user of any social network, this space I found for myself is like a diary. But 4 years ago, at the height of the pandemic, I used these apps like any other. In the midst of this movement, for about a year I unlearned what it was to live. International travel, extroverted people having fun with friends, parties, bars and beaches.

Don't get me wrong, dear reader, this is still a way of living. But what about the rest of us? those who make a coffee to drink while reading a book, those who have bedtimes and wake-up times, those who avoid crowded places because we are introverts, those who hate noise and are lovers of silence. An afternoon writing essays for college while drinking tea, taking care of the plants and enjoying nature, choosing not to go out on a Friday night and watching Harry Potter for the thousandth time, wouldn't all of this still be living?

☕The truth is that there is no right or wrong way to live. Of course there are choices that harm us, one more piece of advice for myself and I hope it will also be useful for you, dear reader. We introverts with grandpa spirits are also living, enjoying the aroma of coffee, picking flowers, reading books and spending hours, days or weeks enjoying our own company is also living, just because we don't lead a busy life like the waves of the sea. , does not mean that our calm and comfort is not a way of saying, thank you universe, I am alive.

(Kakyoin has never made any friends in his entire life. Now he has tried when he was a kid, but the minute he tried to bring up his stand in a conversation is when he got weird looks and kids ignoring him so he figured trying to make friends was pointless if they couldn't see or understand his stand. Although he was close with his cousin, Ryoko, even he kept major secrets from her.)

(Despite never going on a date before, Kakyoin is easily an amazing boyfriend! He loves making lunches for his partner and is very physically affectionate. Being so touch-starved for affection from others, he has a hard time not wanting to hold hands or embrace his partner!)

(Even though he loves the idea of having a partner someday, Kakyoin is not very optimistic that he'll find love because of how long it took him just to have friends.)

(Kakyoin has grown up believing he is the only stand user ever in his family but the truth is that his grandfather was a stand user as well, he just kept it hidden even into his death where Kakyoin would never know that he wasn't alone in his family.)

(Kakyoin actually struggled to sleep a lot after Death 13. Even in the hospital from surviving Dio's attack, nurses had a hard time convincing or even getting him to sleep because he was still scared he'd dream of that stupid baby coming back round 2. By the time of part 4 though, he can actually sleep relatively peacefully!)

(He's never going to tell his cousin or his parents about what happened in Egypt. All he's ever told them is that he got into an accident after he left the hotel and found himself injured for months in a hospital. Sometimes his mother still asks how the fuck did he end up with a large punch-like hole in his stomach, but he makes some vague allusion to a car accident or construction accident.)

(Kakyoin is a VERY neat person so trust me when I say he's extremely on-top of his hygiene! He has an entire skin care routine in the morning and pretty expensive brands of shampoo and conditioner for his hair to remain nice and healthy.)

(He's such a nerd by Kakyoin's happiest hobby is just organizing and cleaning up! He loves making sure everything is neatly put together and of course, he loves using his label maker.)

(For half the trip, Polnareff really pissed off Kakyoin. This was mainly because the two of them are polar opposites, and sharing a room with him sometimes on their travels was absolute hell when the Frenchman was so messy while Kakyoin liked everything neat and folded. Obviously they learned to get along later, but let's just say that punch when Avdol 'died' wasn't just to get him to snap out of it.)

(He's actually a really good cook! Since he had no friends, Kakyoin spent a lot of time with his mother so she taught him how to cook.)

(Kakyoin really likes coffee actually! He just hates it plain so he'll usually load it with cream and sugar but he LOVES having a nice latte with a cherry pie~)

(His mother was a painter before he was born, retiring to be a stay at home mom, so Kakyoin learned to paint from her as it was still her hobby when he was away at school. He still likes painting and drawing, he just doesn't do it very often because he has a lot of other hobbies, but on the occasion he paints they're actually very abstract and Picaso-esque.)

(He gets his red hair from his dad but his curls from his mom. He did teach his cousin, Ryoko, how to do his curl style though because they were close when they were little.)

(Kakyoin dresses pretty simple actually. He wears a lot of button-up shirts, polos and sweaters! For him, it's anything casual and comfortable.)

(He may have recovered pretty well after the events of part 3 despite being in the hospital for a year, by that I mean that he had to have an experimental stomach and intestinal transplant by the Speedwagon Foundation, they weren't able to completely help his spine. Although he was young so his body was able to handle the partial artificial spine the Foundation put in place, it's not the same kind of technology as something like Joseph's arm so over time it would wear down.

Over the course of each Jojo part, Kakyoin develops severe mobility issues. By part 4, he usually walks with a cane or leg braces to keep himself upright or else he risks his legs giving out at random intervals and by part 6? He's completely confined to a wheelchair as the artificial spinal chord will completely fail by then. Now the foundation has tried to continue developing a better artificial spine for Kakyoin, but the surgery for it would still be a massive risk that could cause further damage or even leave him with even more issues.)

Healing

Most religions have a form of healing magic - it may be called "faith healing" and "miracle".

Some healing magic is subtle, strengthening he body's own immune defences so it can fight off infections, cancer cells and hormonal imbalances. In such cases, this might not be considered magic by others.

Dramatic, sudden healings attract a lot of attention and will run into many ethical dilemmas:

What if the magician is kept in captivity to keep the king young, forever?

What if the magician is forced to heal armies that are doing terrible things?

What if the magician only heals those in power/ who can afford to pay them?

In modern society, it is possible for the line between healing magic and life science to be blurred. Magic might simply amplify existing medicines, or provide luck to surgens who are performing a particularly tricky operation.

Protection

Many people seek magical protection, and hire magicians to provide it.

A farmer might seek to protect his crops

A mother might seek to protect her offspring

A courtesan seeks protection from her lover's wives

A soldier who seek protection from attacks.

Methods through which it may be achieved:

Using an amulet, necklace, or other tools that must be carried

A mark or tattoo for protection

A circle or physical barrier surrounding the client

A blessing that wears off with time

A protection spell that can be memorized and used only once.

Talismans and Amulets

Talisman and amulets give magical enegy to the people who wear them. They are two different objects, so it's best not to get them mixed up if your story has both. The follow categorization is fluid:

An amulet gives general help, while a talisman serves one specific purpose.

An amulet keeps harm away, while a talisman empowers the wearer.

An amulet is motly secular, while a talisman typically contains divine/angelic/spiritual energy

An amulet usually works for whoever that wears it, while a talisman is custom made for one user.

An amulet deflects negative energies, while a talisman attracts positive ones.

They are generally small objects that can be worn or carried. They have symbols on them which charges them with magical power.

In ancient societies, amulets and talismans were big business, with magician earning large sums by making and recharging them.

Guarding Against Harmful Magic

Using magic to harm or kill others is generally frowned upon. However, the magician may accept the job of hexing or cursing someone, given that they are paid well.

Hexes and curses

A hex is worked in cold blood, unemotionally. A curse involves intense emotions.

A hex lasts for a given period, then wear off. A curse may last a lifetime or even generations.

A hex is usually secular, while a curse often has a religious element (placed by or on behalf of a deity)

A hex is usually Low Magic while a curse may be High Magic

A hex is always worked by a magician while a cuse can sometimes be worked by a non-magician

A hex can affet an object or a person, a curse almost always affects a person.

Hexes tend to cause great nuisance, while curses bring long-term devastating harm.

Protection against magical attacks

The afflicted person may seek to undo the hex or spell, often at a high cost (even life)

Rituals may either aim to deflect other magical attacks, get rid of the attack, or send the spell back to the sender.

Sometimes, placing a curse or hex has a consequence to the caster, and this will deter a magician from doing it in the first place.

The client may pay to lessen the impact of a curse or seek drugs to ease their pain under it.
