Why does my brain only make me think of significant character moment while I’m at work—

Anyway, remember how Gideon had the fae love curse towards Kremy? Well, idk if anyone else caught it, but Gideon said “I love you” towards Kremy while under the curse (twice, I think? Counting Bumbo as well?). And I’m not talking about “oh, I loved your original form, but I love this form as well” or “I’m so glad we’re married”. I mean Gideon said, and I fucking quote; “Man, I love you.” While Kremy was distracted with something else.

And what really gets me is that they then did the fucking “what?” (From Kremy, probably realizing that Gid just said something) “what?” (From Gideon, who I think had a big dopey innocent smile as if he didn’t just fucking verbally say that he loves his best friend and ironic husband)

And then, after the curses wore off and before they met the king of Downfall, Gideon was quiet. Like really quiet. Frosty even pointed out that Gideon hadn’t said anything in a while, so it wasn’t just a meta “Mace letting everyone else talk” thing. And for the next few episodes afterward, he started acting kinda awkward around Kremy

Idk I think I might be overanalyzing literally every little thing. I mean, I know they’re basically end game at this point (god I hope they are), so it’s not like I’m looking for every scrap of evidence I can for a rarepair (*cough* frostbek *cough*). Im just. Hnngh they make me unwell.

Gideon Coal is the hearth, the warmth within the home, the steady heat to cook wonderful meals, the beating heart to warm the chill of a soul, the stocked woodshed, the ray of sun through a window. A protector. A guardian. A friend.

Kremy Lecroux is the stew pot, the silverware, the favorite spoon, the homemade bone broth, the smell of spices, the foundation, the walls, keeping his family safe however the wind howls. Keeping his family fed. Keeping his family.

Morning Frost is the books, the smell of sugars breaking down, the turning of dog-eared pages, the little spaces in the margins of recipes where someone has made their little touches, keeping the knowledge for those who come after, for those who are willing to learn, for those who crave to know

Gricko and Hootsie Grimgrin are the music of the home, the soft hoot beyond the window at night, the familiar creak of the floorboards, the hushed lullabies of rain on the roof, the absence of loneliness, always welcoming, always comforting, always soothing, always soft.

Torbek is the devourer, the one who consumes, the one who can appreciate the wholeness of the warmth of a hearth, the taste of a good meal, the pages he knows by heart, the knowing that he isn't alone, even when sometimes he feels himself a stranger in this house. Torbek is home with Carnival Lecroux. Torbek is home.

Tbh if you are trying to find good irl references for Gideon's body type (at least the way i like drawing him) looking up "olympic weightlifting" or "olympic shot put" or even "strongman competition" are all good ones to look at. And avoid "body builder", since often they aren't even going for strength and instead just getting insanely low body fat percentages (cowards). Like here this is what I'm talking about;

Personally, I think it’s crazy to be from a state that seceded from the confederacy to join the union and wear the confederate flag. Almost as crazy as “coming from a long line of coal miners” and being anti-union.

The fact that the episode where Arya assists Tywin and famously says “most girls are stupid” corresponds directly with the chapter in the books where she overhears Chiswyck laughing about how the mountain and his lackeys (him included) gang-raped a 13 year old child, and this harrows and angers Arya so much that she adds all of these people to her prayer kill list and uses her one of her three precious death-wishes with Jaqen H’ghar is the reason I will be personally beating the bloody shit out of d&d.

Back when Kremy first joined Garou, he had to make a sacrifice to keep his job. Something that would tether Kremy to Garou for the rest of his life. On his back is a large scar that was carved into his scales Remy Garou’s seal and the Baron’s symbol below. It hurt like hell and bleed for weeks as it scarred over.

The only one that knows about it is Gideon of course, it’s not something that Kremy likes to talk openly about. So, when he got branded tbt Agdon Longscarf it brought back memories he tried so desperately to bury and hide. The pain in his back that lingers for weeks.

I definitely think that is not outside the relam of possibilities. From what I know Garou is a ruthless man, though the idea that perhaps a magical rune was imprinted on Kremy's skin to make it so Garou always has eyes on him is also potentially interesting (and actually something I found quite compelling in I Like It When You Lie and I'm assuming it's sequel by Sweet_reaper, which is similar to this idea)

The inclusion of the Baron's symbol raises interesting questions that I've had about how much the Baron actually listens to Garou (or if Garou is just lying through his teeth and Kremy doesn't wanna find out), but that's for another day.

Though when I read the first statement, the idea of "making a sacrifice" in other ways is also interesting. Physical wounds are one possibility, but ridding himself of personal joys? Cutting off a finger? Killing a random person just to prove that he can? Or, in that case, ridding himself of all innocence he had remaining? Memories? The faces of loved ones? His name? His literal heart?

What is terrifying about the time Kremy worked for Garou is that at no point was he ever safe, even if he felt like it. He was always a puppet, and Garou made sure that he'd remember that you don't escape his claws easily.

And even in the feywild, he's not safe.

I'm a bit nervous to post it, but as most of the people say: I'm cringe but I'm free! So, take this ref sheet of coalecroux fankid that I'm came up with! :]

Some small facts:

-His adopted

-Calls his parents like "purple dad" and "fire dad"

-When he was just born, he easily fitted in Gideon's one hand

-He really liked to bite Gideon(especially his fingers) and lay on Kermy's head when he was 3

-Firefly is 3ft tall

-He strongly refuse to wear shoes

-Calls Gricko, Frosty and Torbek as his uncles, calls Twig as his auntie and calls Hootsie as his big sis

-He really likes when someone carries him around

-He's halfdragon who was born from thing called "forbidden fruit"(I read about it on DnD.su)

-He's a halfdragon of lizardfolk and sapphire dragon

-His tail is a bit defected

-His favorite creatures are griffons(he likes them as much as Kremy likes unicorns)

Some kind of story how Gid and Kremy got him(I'm bad at making stories srry):

Basically, Gid and Kremy found his egg in the bushes near some lake deep in the forest when they wanted to make some "ironic" picnic date there. When they found his egg they waited some time to make sure if someone will comeback for him, but after 2 hours no one came they realized that the egg was abandoned and so Kremy's parent instincts started to kick in and they decided to take it. Something like that :d

in order: fire genasi, tabaxi (lion), lizardfolk (gila monster), human, goblin, bugbear, brownie

i'm not super familiar with fire genasis, despite playing one myself, and idrk how they look or if Avantris has a different take on em than WOTC. That said, all of the genasi that I've drawn for this project are based on Gid's canon design, primarily flaming hair and cute lil horns. The colored irises are a trait I attributed based on each character's canon design (ie if they had colored irises before, like Kremy and Frost, then they'll have colored irises as a genasi). Kinda just an on-fire human lol

Not a lot to say about him as a tabaxi, almost no thought went into it other than "haha that looks cool :)". The ONLY rational thought I put into it was that I wanted his mane to be dark like his hair, and kind of lucked out that dark maned lions exist

I had a hell of a time decided what kind of lizardfolk I wanted him to be. I knew going in that I wanted him to be based off a big lizard, ideally a toothed predator to reference his character aspect of being a ginormous and dangerous fighter. For a hot sec I considered making him a crocodile or komodo dragon, but I ended up liking the way gila monsters play into the themes that I wanted as well as his general color palette.

Speaking of, his human design is the most unremarkable yet <3 It's really just is canon design but in like. human tones. No fire. I did base his skin tone off the one I used for his father when I drew my concept of his family a thousand years ago, really wanted him to look like his dad. Nothin too special otherwise
