It sucks so much that as someone with a severe and persistent mental illness it's MY responsibility to jump through hoops and be proactive in contacting people at limited times of the day just to get MY MEDS THAT I'VE BEEN TAKING CONSISTENTLY FOR YEARS

Man it is worth pointing out that the ACA is a living piece of legislation. Like every year updated protocols and guidelines release to the whole industry from CMS (gov oversight) and I educate professionals in my field on the changes each time. It was built intentionally to be an evolving and improving system that can handle more and more people each year. The ACA is not a stone tablet; it's an arm of federally protected benefits like Medicare that is inherited and maintained and built up by sequential administrations. It is WORKING, it's so reassuring to see it become so intertwined with our American health care model that an entire wing of the industry is now dedicated to the ACA.
Yeah, we want a better health care system, of course we do!! That's why so many people dedicate their careers to supporting the ACA!!! THIS is the fish crawling onto land that can eventually become a health care system that treats us with dignity. We just have to keep evolving it into a more equitable and accessible option. I vote with my head mostly tuned into future health care + research policies and it makes my goals much clearer. Biden has spent 2 separate administrations leading the Cancer Moonshot research funding initiative that has contributed significantly to the boom in cancer breakthroughs. Trump suggested we drink bleach for covid. I trust one significantly more than the other to continue funding ACA and NIH initiatives and interests 🤷
#Creepy chatter#Idk I live in a red state so we are ground zero for some of the worst ACA myths that deter locals from voting in favor of pub health#So like when I look up the political ladder at those decisions....I usually have the same questions#What is your plan to continue to reduce health care costs? Do you have plans to address pharmacy patents?#Disability protections and workplace health investments?#Any plans to further legislate for-profit privatized health resources like hospitals or walk-in clinics?#There are so many federal walls that need collaboration to overcome. Either public health suffers or continues to improve.#The ACA is proof we can snowball improvement over the course of different administrations. Keep rolling it!!!

one big task down, two to go.
#I got the process of having my meds transfered to another pharmacy that does 100% coverage with my student health plan#AND they do free delivery so that's a big plus#I've been with shoppers pharmacy for the bulk of the last 10 years#wait hang on have I really been on medication for a decade? jesus.#anyways. I still need to call the surgeon's office back to tell them I want to keep my ovaries (for now) and I really really#REALLY#need to get the ball rolling and self refer to the gender clinic as well#dysphoria has been eating me alive#and the other school part (callie) may be “woman aligned” but they're also dysphoric apparently? at the very least they're more comfortable#with binding and kind of passing#we accidentally outed ourself as trans to our friends last month so there's no point trying to pretend otherwise now#I still cannot believe I gave two of them my discord for a group project and FORGOT THAT I LISTED MY PRONOUNS AS HE/HIM#it's fine though? they've been really cool about it. even the guy I expected to be weird about it has been making an effort to use he/him#he's even caught himself using she/her and apologizes when he does#sometimes cis people can be good and normal

tried putting on my radiator for the first time this winter (we've had snow this week.... its focking cold) but it trips the fusebox for the entire flat lmfao. I'm fuuuucked 😐
#all the other radiators work fine its just mine :'(((#and bc its thw weekend they wont come out to fix it until monday at least so thats great#its fine i havent needed it on this week so far and i have layers and a hot water bottle so ill be fine but i did cry abt it a bit#but not so much abt the radiator just a lot on my mind.. i couldnt pick up my prescription after work either bc the secretary left half an#hour early and the very kind nurse who had a look for it anyway couldnt find it and i cant get there any earlier next week bc of work#i know itll be fine ive already sent an email to ask if they can send it to my local pharmacy instead ill get my meds before they run out#but still i cried a bit walking home from the clinic 😢 just been a long week even if not a bad one. and i miss my friend whos moving#he'll be on the plane now.... man. its a bit selfish but im also sad abt it bc he always noticed how i was feeling when i was at the gym#like if i was privately dealing w some shit or just wasnt quite myself he could tell n would find a moment to gently ask or just be there#without probing abt it like man hes so reassuring and kind and has such a big heart. before he left he asked me to look out for some of#the quieter ones in our group and make sure they feel included and someones listening to them when he wont be around to anymore#😢💔💔💔💔 and i know i didnt know him long enough to become proper good friends with him but it meant a lot that he looked out for me#like all i really want in this world is to feel seen n safe esp when im having a hard time. and none of my closer friends really do that#and thats okay like its not their fault and they just express their way of caring differently but sometimes i feel so lonely ah....#and also my period is due and im kind of scared of how painful itll be bc the last few have been so bad snd i find loneliness a lot harder#when im in a lot of pain and anyway this is all probably just the pre period hormones making me so tearful so it doesnt matter#its ok made a big bowl of rice so im going to eat that wrapped up cosy in bed with a movie i think. and then sleep#.diaries

i only had five minutes to go home and i spent it all looking for my special bag which i didn’t find and now my room is extra messy because i messed it up to look for the bag and i forgot to change my jacket to the less warm jacket so now i’m too warm and i’m going to be too warm for a while. at least i caught the bus i needed to catch.
#now im going to the clinic to get my bc prescription#and then i’ll take the prescription to the pharmacy and pick up the bc there#and then i’ll go to the comic book store from there#because it’s only 20 min away from that area instead of the hour away it is from my apartment#and after i get my comics i’ll go home and fix my room and hopefully find my special bag#and then i can read the new question issue#personal#i’m going to be warm on the train especially if its crowded but whatever.#it’s not that serious but it feels stressful.
