TO READ: Sex, Surrealism, Dali and Me by Clifford Thurlow (2000).
This is really two biographies in one, that of Salvador Dali and his long-term muse - the Colombian dancer Carlos Lozano. Don't know what to make of it yet, as I haven't started reading, but sounds intriguing.

“Woman Convicted On Bigamy Charge,” Toronto Star. April 22, 1941. Page 2. ---- Given Two Months by Judge Ian Macdonell ----- Pleading guilty of bigamy, Elda May Wilson was given two months by Judge Ian Macdonnell in county criminal court today. Clifford Thurlow Wilson, accused’s husband, said that they were married on Jan. 12, 1928. They had four children. ‘In 1936,’ Wilson said, ‘my wife walked out on me.’
A marriage certificate put in as an exhibit showed accused had gone through a form of marriage with Russell Lloyd Kwas on July 12, 1940.
Det.-Sergt. William Matthews said that while searching the home in which Kwas and the Wilson woman were living for a quantity of stolen cloth he had come upon a marriage certificate.

Review: Operation Jihadi Bride, by John Carney with Clifford Thurlow
Blurb
Would you turn your back on a teenage Jihadi bride and her innocent children?
‘Jihad isn’t a war. It’s an objective. An aberration. If there are young women with children, lost boys… If they are trapped in that hell and we can get them out, don’t we have a duty to do so? Every person we can bring back is living proof that Islamic State is a failure.’
Ex-British Army Soldier, John…

Salvador Dali Spanish Surrealist Painter via /#bestofcanvas
Salvador Dali Spanish Surrealist Painter
Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí I Domènech, 1st Marquis of Dalí de Púbol (11 May 1904 – 23 January 1989), known professionally as Salvador Dalí was a Spanish Surrealist painter born in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain.
Dalí was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters.[His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931 and is one of the most recognizable Surrealist paintings. Dalí's expansive artistic repertoire included film, sculpture, and photography, at times in collaboration with a range of artists in a variety of media.
Dalí was highly imaginative, and also enjoyed indulging in unusual and grandiose behavior. To the dismay of those who held his work in high regard, and to the irritation of his critics, his eccentric manner and attention-grabbing public actions sometimes drew more attention than his artwork.
In Carlos Lozano's biography, Sex, Surrealism, Dalí, and Me, produced with the collaboration of Clifford Thurlow, Lozano makes it clear that Dalí never stopped being a surrealist. As Dalí said of himself: "the only difference between me and the surrealists is that I am a surrealist".[61]
Salvador Dalí has been cited as a major inspiration by many modern artists, such as Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, and most other modern surrealists. Salvador Dalí's manic expression and famous mustache have made him something of a cultural icon for the bizarre and surreal. He has been portrayed on film by Robert Pattinson in Little Ashes (2008), and by Adrien Brody in Midnight in Paris (2011). He was also parodied in a series of painting skits on Captain Kangaroo as "Salvador Silly" (played by Cosmo Allegretti) and in a Sesame Street muppet skit as "Salvador Dada" (an orange-gold Anything Muppet performed by Jim Henson).
The Salvador Dalí Desert in Bolivia and the Dali crater on the planet Mercury are named for him.
