SMT?

I’m just gonna limit this to mainline because you didn’t specify.

The first character I first fell in love with:

Demifiend, believe it or not. Nocturne was my first SMT game ever, even before I ever touched Persona, and something about this edgy shirtless teenager running around punching demons in the face resonated strongly with fifteen-year-old me. He’s still probably one of my favorite silent protagonists ever.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:

NAVARRE. Did anyone actually like him in SMT4? Or expect him to have actual character development as a blob ghost? 4A had a lot of problems, and I get why some people don’t like him, but he was one of my favorite parts of the game. Naturally, I had to choose him as my megami when I did anarchy. BEST WAIFU. also, free doping.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t:

Tough. I’m not really a fan of Jonathan or Walter, and my feelings towards Flynn and Isabeau are lukewarm at best. Does SMT4 as a whole count? I enjoyed 4A despite its flaws, but SMT4 was just… really bland, imo.

The character I love that everyone else hates:

Chiaki. She’s popular on tumblr afaik but on /r/megaten hating on her is something of a meme. I get why, but honestly I love what an unapologetic power-hungry bitch she is. There’s no attempt to portray her as tragic or a love interest or whatever, she’s just following her Reason just as Isamu and Hikawa are. Girl power means power to be just as much of an asshole as the boys. Yosuga is the best reason ending and Baal Avatar is the only sponsor that isn’t fugly.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer:

Toki, and also Nozomi. Just… goddamn. Whoever wrote 4A, never touch female characters again. Asahi only managed to avoid being on this list because she had at least some character depth. Toki just makes me sad. And immensely creeped out. The fact that Atlus apparently thinks lolicons are a legitimate demographic they should be appealing to in any way, shape, or form is utterly sickening.

The character I would totally smooch:

SMT IMAGINE LUCIFER. HOOOOOOLY SHIT I WANT HER TO DESTROY ME. Yuriko and Chiaki are also 100% my type. As far as demons go, in no particular order I’d smooch Vivian, Cleopatra, Sati, Nekomata, Angel, Laksmi, Amaterasu, Asherah, Ame no Uzume, Kikuri-Hime, Gabriel… I’m probably forgetting a lot. tbh my end-game party is usually a very careful balance of powerhouses and hotties.

On the male end of the spectrum, I’d totally smooch Krishna. Something about him is just so intensely alluring.

The character I’d want to be like:

uh. Yuka? She led an entire revolution despite being merely human. That’s pretty impressive. She’s not really my favorite character by any stretch, but unlike Chiaki she doesn’t really have manikin genocide under her belt.

The character I’d slap:

Toki. Just so she shuts up for five goddamn minutes and I can use her to farm mitamas without wanting to kill myself.

A pairing that I love:

hrm, I don’t actually have that many ships in mainline SMT. Closest I have to a legit OTP would be Flynn/Krishna, though I have a soft spot for Aleph/Lucifer.

A pairing that I despise:

Nanashi/Toki is probably my NOTP of the franchise. I’m not against it in concept, but the way it’s written is just so fucking creepy. Nanashi/Asahi also turns me off immensely, and I’m so grateful that you can just ditch the shit waifus and romance Hallelujah or Navarre. Or Gaston I guess but who cares about Gaston.

I’m also not really a fan of Chiaki/Demifiend? Or even Yuko/Demifiend. Demifiend not really having a love interest was really refreshing to me. It left his human connections a lot more up in the air rather than pushing a designated waifu onto the player. I do think Demifiend/Pixie is cute, though.

She is Bohrga, she is the Warlock character I create for the 5° ediction od Dungeons & Dragons I'm actually play at a game shop in my city. This is a #watercolor #painting Bohrga is mentally unstable and her bond with her Patron is dark and full of compromises; blood and death destabilize her, make her remember about her recent past. She had no friends, and the only person who gave her some help died in game, from now on Bohrga rely only on herself but her mentaly hill may confuse her.
