It's September 29th. 🎂 Buon Compleanno, Loretta Goggi! On this day in 1950, the popular singer, actress, and TV host was born in Roma, Italia. This multi-talented entertainment artist began her career auspiciously in 1959 at the tender age of nine by winning first prize in the radio singing competition "Dino Verde Disco Magico." Three years later she made her debut as a child actress in the TV show "Sotto Processo." In 1963, she recorded her first song, "Se La Cercherai."
Throughout the '60s, Ms. Goggi could be seen singing, performing, and hosting on TV and acting in films and in the theater. She even did a stint as a disc jockey for Vatican Radio and dubbed the Italian voice of Tweety for Warner Brothers' Merrie Melodies.
In the '70s, Ms. Goggi continued to expand her horizons, hosting and singing on radio and television shows, acting in TV dramas, and traveling the world. She participated in a Song Festival in Tokyo and performed in England on TV with Sammy Davis, Jr.
The climax of Ms. Goggi's career came in 1981 with the release of her monster worldwide hit, "Maledetta Primavera," which was awarded Vintage Golden Disco certification by the Federation of Italian Music Industry. Ms. Goggi didn't rest on her laurels, though. During the next 40 years, she continued to sing, perform, act, and host on TV. She even added "author" to her list of accomplishments when she wrote the children's book "Un Mondo per Tutti." Ms. Goggi continues to be a relevant force within the Italian entertainment industry. She’s currently working on the television production of “Più Forti del Destino.” Unbelievable! What a life! ☮️ Peace… Jamiese of Pixoplanet

Hi! This is really random, but a while ago you posted about writing Italian characters and offered to give advice. Are you still interested and/or comfortable with answering a question?
If so, my question is: if an Italian character had a collection of really romantic pop and rock music spanning from the 1960s through the early 2000s, which Italian artists and bands would they pick?
Hi!! What a cute question! I think I can suggest you some very popular songs from past Italy, thank you for asking! Adriano Celentano used to be very popular in the 60s: (even on personal side I really liked him from this years) Adriano Celentano - with 24000 kisses Another one is Gianni Morandi, which is another very loved one from the 60s: Gianni Morandi - Kneeling by you Here some other Artists from 60s (italian music in the 60 was roaring worldwide!) Little Tony - Crazy Heart
Fabrizio De André - Song of the lost Love Gino Paoli (sung by Mina) - The sky in a room
From the 70s, you can find some more rocky hits. A very VERY appreciated italian artist was Fabrizio de André. He is considered up to this day as a real poet of italian music but I would say his vision is a bit dramatic for what you are searching for. So I'm going for... Umberto Tozzi - I love you Vasco Rossi wrote some very big hit (he is not my fav one but he was famous and I can't deny!) Vasco Rossi - Beaming Sunrise Claudio Baglioni - This little big love From the 80s: Fausto Leali - I miss you Mia Martini - You, at least, in the universe Ricchi e poveri - Might be because I love you From the 90s: Laura Pausini - The Loneliness Franco Battiato - The Cure Ambra Angiolini - I Promise, you Promise From the 00s: Tiziano Ferro - Black Nights Gianna Nannini - You are in my soul I hope I helped you!

ELENA
Elena non la conoscevo. Così come non conoscevo Walter, Roberto, Fausto, Iaio, Ivo, Claudio. Tutti ammazzati dai fascisti in dodici mesi.
Settembre 1977, settembre 1978.
Uccisa a freddo.

it’s wild when you think about one club men that there’s so many players you’d think are one club men but aren’t. like steven gerrard isn’t one. javier zanetti isn’t one. john terry isn’t one by the technical definition. de rossi isn’t one. iker casillas isn’t one. neither raul or guti are one. neither xavi or iniesta are one. claudio marchisio isn’t one. bobby charlton isn’t one (none of the trinity are).
