9 Women are competing in the 24H of Daytona next weekend.
#83 (GTD) - Iron Dames: Doriane Pin, Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy & Michelle Gatting
#66 (GTD) - Sheena Monk, Katherine Legge & Tatiana Calderón
#45 (GTD) - Ashton Harrison
#88 (LMP2) - Lilou Wadoux
This weekend we can already see a preview of what's about to go on with the roar before the 24. Practice has been going on since yesterday, where Katherine Legge topped the times in GTD during the second session.
Today practice continues and tomorrow Qualifying takes places. We won't see Doriane Pin until next week as she competes in F4 UAE this weekend.

The Daytona 24H is free to watch on IMSA.TV and in the US you can watch the race on Peacock
Also of note Taylor Hagler will be competing in the Michelin Pilot Challenge race. A series she is already a two time champion in.

oh btw after realizing that sophia floersch didnt change a bit of her attitude:
in a german doku she said that the reason the richard mille all female team was failing (while she beitske and tati were in it) because it was hard to find 3 worthy women
aka calling beitske and tati slow...

I got Takuma's height from F1 Racing's interview with him in 2004 (a couple of months after the podium), when it said he was 5 foot 2. It's possible the writer or sub-editor may have been exaggerating the shortness for effect, I suppose (there was a comment in that year's mid-season review that it's a good thing that, as the Japanese proverb says, it's the size of the fight in the dog that matters…) Tatiana's struggles in GP3 are how I found out junior series are less flexible (due to regulations limiting placement). But F1 teams would definitely adapt if you were (somehow) allowed to go straight there.
Takuma Sato got on the podium of a F1 race despite being 5 foot 2 inches (155 cm). If you're fast enough, you're tall enough - at least in F1, where they'd probably thank you for being light enough to let them put some extra ballast in your seat (which is faster).
i also forgot to mention that i'm also oscar's age and that it's way too late for me to start a career in motorsport lol. best i could do is be an actor in a motorsports film. so if they're looking for a body double for yuki tsunoda, i'm your guy /j
either he podiumed when he was younger because i just checked his height which is said to be 5'5, so either he's lying about his height or he grew (doubtful, since he was 27 when he got a podium in f1)
tatiana calderon is 5'4 and she struggled with GP3 series cars because of her height, and i'm assuming formula cars are quite different from 2016 GP3 series cars, as 5'3 short king yuki managed to breeze his way through F3 and F2 before hopping into F1 and having to drive a modified car built around his average height french teammate lol

hiii this is the research paper anon!! do you think 543 days logan would be friends with any other female drivers like abbi, doriane, etc.? i hope you’re having a nice day!! 🫶
Research paper anon!!! Great to hear from you <3 how are you, how is the paper? Are you making progress?
So I have to preface this that although I love to explore the topic of gender in motorsport, I'm not very knowledgeable on the F1 Academy girls, since I'm not too fond of the whole women-only series concept, that being said... yeah, Logan would have female racer friends but I think not that many.
I'm not telling anyone anything new when I say that being a woman in a male dominated field means relying on chance meetings or actively participating in women-led initiatives and even then you're more likely making "work friends" or acquaintances than close friends.
with logan rising through the traditional ladder, chance meetings are what she relies on the most and so I think our darling logan definitely knows the Al Quabisi sisters since she raced in the UAE and and Marta Garcia from her karting days. Also Jamie Chadwick and Tatiana Calderon who were performing well competitively in British F4 and F3 around the time when Logan was active there as well.
Those are all women that logan has met, whom alongside she competed on one or two occasions, with whom she spent some time, exchanged numbers, but didn't get to know them well enough to see as more than "work friends".
But i also see two drivers she would form friendships with. One being Sophia Flörsch who also competed in the 2020 F3 season, so they have ample time to get to know each other. funnily enough, they were both born in december 2000 (also i just realized i lied with saying Logan was the first woman to score F3 points, it was Sophia one year prior 🙈).
Logan's second female driver friend would be Lia Block imo. Having seen the good morning america appearances OG Logan and Lia did, I think they got along pretty well, seeing they're both American Williams Academy Drivers, plus Lia's dad was very well known in US rallying. For 543 days, it's giving besties.

no hate for sophia floersch but there is one thing that makes me a bit mad about all the attention:
sophia is the first women to race in the fia f3 series so why is everyone talking about that she is the first succesfull woman? there was no competition in that series
and if we take the other series that were merged for fia f3 (gp3 and euro f3) then there were a lot of other women who scored points
Tati Caldaron
Sophia herself
and alice motherfckn powell my beloved (the one that sophia called slow scored a point in gp3 also with the shittiest car ever
I like that sophia is progressing and I wosh her all the best for her carrer but this is just boosting her pick me attitude
