Love the thought of Remus taking the Vancouver Conference for some reason and a) INSISTING on just buying her own hotel so she can be Cerberus and b) taking Cerberus for walks on the ocean 🥺
Bonus thought: her being just a little pregnant. Like the start of a bump. There are adorable little markets here with handmade baby clothes and I NEED her to browse them but for that I need her to have a reason.
#ignore the fact that they already live near the ocean and therefore cerberus already sees it and walks by it all the time#this is like a more exciting more popular more crowded beach#it's DIFFERENT#and i don't know which baby Remus would be pregnant with#one of the dead ones seems sad but Matthew or Tommy make the most sense#she wouldn't go pregnant with Carlisle because thats when Tommy is sick. the twins is when Carlisle is sick. and Clary isnt born in BC#technically if i take out the paralysis though Clary IS possible#Clary would be cute. shes one of my favourites.#james is rambling again#ocs#rambling#thoughts#writer#writing#original character

Hi Clari! I don't know if youve answered something like this before but! What would Touya nii do if he found a little bullet vibe in readers room that she forgot to hide away 👀
tw: stepcest, touya is a Meanie!!, forced overstimulation (dubcon)
ooooh my gosh anon!! (*ノωノ)ᵉᵉᵏ listen if touya-nii found any sort of sex toy hidden in your bedroom that he did not either buy for you or give you explicit permission to buy—and he will find it, no matter where you try to hide it, during one of his routine inspections of your room (often performed while you are out of the house, without your knowledge or approval)—he would be LIVID. when you arrive home that day, you find him sitting on the edge of your bed, legs crossed loosely at the ankles and pretty pink bullet sitting untouched in his lap; the perfect picture of calm sans the blue fire roiling in his eyes, sharp and intense, bright flames flaring when your startled gaze flits from his face to his thighs, then back to his face, terrified.
you know you’re in trouble. you know you’ve done something bad.
with an even and borderline apathetic tone, he asks you when you were planning on telling him you had such a pretty little toy, slight sting gnawing on the very last word, suddenly spit from his tongue like it’s some sort of disgusting insult. when you can’t answer him, stuttering out some pathetic excuse of a response, half-finished and hiccuped, he laughs, cruel and void of humour, the melody furious, ringing with the implicit promise of retribution.
it’s cute that you thought you could hide this from him, he tells you as he picks up the vibe, turning it in nimble fingers, thoughtful. it’s cute that you think you can hide anything from him now, that he won’t always and inevitably figure out the truth, that he won’t swiftly and severely enact rightful punishment immediately following his discovery. how precious, how utterly idiotic.
he’s disappointed, he continues, solemn, and you think he really does sound upset, hurt—only contradicted by that blazing, unblinking sapphire scathing your face as it devours your guilt, and that slight sadistic twitch at the corner of his mouth, threatening to grow into his favourite lopsided grin when those thick tears finally spill past your lashes. you could’ve just asked; he probably would’ve said yes. but what’s done is done—you have it now, and it would be such a shame to let it go to waste, don’t you think?
he certainly does think so, which is exactly why he’s going to spend the rest of the night assaulting your cunt with the stupid fucking thing—until every muscle is quivering from extreme overstimulation, bones turned liquid, limbs aching with the heaviness of pleasure-tinged pain, everything gone useless; until your entire body is covered in a sheen layer of damp salt, sweat and tears and snot and cum slathered across your skin, saturating your sheets into something sticky and gross—and then maybe you’ll think twice about buying a toy without his express permission again.
#EHEHEHEHE#tw:stepcest#aaaah touya niiiiiiii#bad boy <333#thank u for ur question anon!!! this was so fun to think about aaaaaaAAAAAH#i hope ur having an awesome weekend!!#stay safe n drink water ok!!!#touya nii universe#inky.bb#clari gets mail

Shadowhunters Headcannons!
Hi! So this is like my first post post and I hope you like it and feel free to share some of your own head cannons!
——————————————
- first off not a head cannon but Simon Lewis is by far one of the most underrated characters in the books and in the show. He is my absolute favourite character and I love how Alberto Rosende plays him
- Within the Sizzy or Climon or Saia relationships, I think Simon would be the one to like read out loud to them if they’re just relaxing (rlly unpopular opinion I actually really liked Clary and Simon together)
-Simon will refuse to drink blood from Clary, no matter how hungry he is, he absolutely refuses to drink from her even if it’s just her wrist. He also doesn’t like doing it to Izzy, it was a one time thing when he almost died.
- When Simon and Clary were younger they would make Jocelyn and Luke play hide and seek, one time Clary dragged him up into a tree and he got a nosebleed from his cute little puppy love crush on her, and that’s how Luke found them in the tree.
- despite his flashy style, Magnus hates wearing suits
-on the contrary, he LOVES seeing Alec in suits
-Luke hates cats, but Jocelyn always wanted one so when he moved in with them, he bought her one. The cat hates him and he hates the cat, they fight when Clary and Jocelyn aren’t around.
- When figuring out his sexuality, he was caught staring at some of the older shadowhunters training, mouth wide open, Izzy walked up to him and went “close your mouth or you’re gonna catch some flies big brother” (she knew way before he did)
-After Jem showed up at the institute, Will found himself unable to sleep unless he heard Jem playing his violin
- Charlotte often found Jem, Will, and Tessa all asleep in the library; Tessa in a chair with a book fallen on her lap, Jem on the couch his hands protectively (cuddling basically) his violin, and Will sittin on the floor in front of the couch near Jem passed out drooling
-When Tessa decided she wanted to drink at the institute for the first time, Charlotte made sure she was there to make sure she didn’t over drink, they ended up basically having a girls night.
-As Magnus watched new shadowhunters train and as they came to bug him, as much as he denied it, he loved them all. He saw their ancestors in their faces or their personalities.
- Jace tried to teach Izzy how to cook, they almost set the institue on fire.
——————————————
Let me know what you think and if I should do more of these?

Heyooo first lemme just say that your writting is amazing. Even your darkish prompts are kinda fluffy at the end.
I imagined my prompt in a marriage of inconvenience but it kinda goes on any if yours.
Magnus flies into a rage and destroys either the NYI or alicante itself because Clary attacks Alec because of the secret marriage. Alec ismt hurt or anything but because she dared to do it our favourite high warlock shows the shadowworld that you really shouldnt touch what is his.
Thanks in advance and im looking forward to all your writtings so i can curl up in a corner wispering my precious like Gollum
Ah thank you so much! i really appreciate that and yeah, i'll write something super DDDNE and dark and then write the end and saeth will read it and go 'awww thats cute' but... that's also @saeths. who is @alxndrlightwoods and their opinion of cute things can be a little skewed.
so i'm never really sure until i post where my stuff falls tbh
kay so this is totally random but this is actually going in 'all your cracks i'll paint gold' the deruned alec verse. because it just fit best there and also, it's a bit of a plot twist because clary doesn't care enough about the institute or alicante for her to be bothered or affected in season 1 or 2 by it being destroyed.
i hope you've been enjoying them and enjoy this, thank you for this lovely prompt

Clarissa Fray is the last person Alec expected to meet on one of the rare occasions he ever leaves Magnus’ loft. The only reason he’s even where he is, is because one of Magnus’ friends is healing an acquaintance of Magnus’. Which means that when asked to go with him, Alec of course said yes.
However, he was not expecting the small redhead that charges into the hospital rune and is seething at him. If not for the wards and magic on this floor of the hospital, Alec imagines that Fray would have caused an incident.
“You, why are you here?” She yells when she sees him and Alec reminds himself that he can’t just rip the stupid little girl’s heart out, even if she is yelling at him like she isn’t the one whose fault is everything that’s happened to him. “You’re supposed to be dead! Everyone is acting like you are. Your mom threatened me! Izzy hates me and Jace is practically a ghost! This is all your fault Alec!”
“My fault?” Alec scoffs because he’s not touching the rest of her statements and is about to argue when he realizes it’s pointless. He can’t argue with someone caught in a delusion and Clary Fray is caught in a delusion of her own grandeur and self-righteousness. “Forget it, Fray. I didn’t come here for you. You’re not even supposed to be here.”
“Well, I didn’t come here for you either, but that doesn’t matter. You’re going to help me save my mom, Alec. The warlocks won’t listen to me without Magnus, and I heard all about it while Dot was being healed. You ran to Magnus. You’re the reason why he stopped helping me, why no one can solve the potion.”
“Actually, I stopped helping you because you disgust me, and I have better ways to waste my time.” Magnus says and Alec relaxes, watching him come out of the shadows, the gold of his eyes a deadly promise in the dark. “In fact, watching pond scum form is a far less a waste of time than listening to you.”
—
Magnus binds her easily and throws her through a portal, following leisurely with his arm around Alexander’s waist, his boy pressing kisses to Magnus’ temple.
“How does she know I’m with you?” Alexander asks him, worry in his voice and Magnus regrets trusting Dot as much as he and Cat have. Apparently, she’s not nearly as trustworthy as he thought, if she thinks sharing information about her High Warlock’s lover is acceptable.
Because Alec is no longer a shadowhunter and he certainly doesn’t have any ties to the clave, not like Clarissa now does. Yet for some reason, Dot shared something that she only ever heard because Magnus lowered his guard enough to share with Cat while he helped heal her.
It’s such a disregard for Magnus’ privacy as well as Cat’s and also, means that Magnus and she can no longer talk around Dot freely. Which is disappointing on many levels.
“A small mistake on my part, darling.” Magnus assures him, “I’ll handle it. She won’t be able to share it around anymore and if it looks like they’ve tracked us, I’ll simply move us again. The clave won’t be able to take you from me, darling. Not even if they begged or bribed me.”
They’re on a roof by a mundane college, an artistic one and while Magnus could feel pity for all the lives he’s about to ruin, it’s hardly his fault that Clarissa Fray doesn’t consider the consequences of her actions.
“I normally try to avoid mundane losses, even just their structural losses. However, even if you should decide not to be a shadowhunter, Clarissa Fray. Remember that because of your greed, this avenue will always be lost to you.”
With a flick of his power the fire alarm goes off and Clarissa is struggling and yelling against the magic keeping her quiet, eyes wide as the last lingering vestiges of the college flee and, as they all watch, Magnus lights it up.
Several parts of the building suddenly imploded. Little clouds of smoke and bright bursts of flames, mortar and ash and debris raining down as Clarissa screams and cries. She’s showing more emotions for the idea that the college brings than when her little friend died or when she’d been supposedly grieving the pain, she caused Alexander and Magnus rolls his eyes.
“How tragic. Who could have predicted that a gas explosion would take down the school you hoped so dearly to join.” Magnus tuts and he pulls Alexander closer, and he sighs in contentment when his boy leans back trustingly. “Perhaps, you should learn to watch where you step, little shadowhunter. Not everyone will be so kind as to light the way and the world of shadows is a very dark one.”
Magnus portals away, leaving her to watch the place burn down and without really any interest in staying. She’ll either manage to free herself or be found by her blond shadow and Magnus doesn’t care either way, not beyond getting Alexander away.
“I’m sorry you had to deal with that, Alexander.” Magnus tells him, when they’re back on their roof and Alexander is sitting on the moss, his knees tucked to his chin as he stares at the pond with waterfowl and koi that Magnus keeps.
Magnus very sneakily magics a little dish of tidbits to Alexander, and he’s given a weary but grateful smile before Alexander throws out the pieces. The koi dart over even faster than the birds, greedily gobbling as much as they can from the surface before following the sinking pieces down. The few birds that there are ignore them, coming straight to the edge, spoiled little creatures that they are.
They come right up to Alexander and snack out of his hand, ignoring Magnus with glaring orange eyes and ruffling their bloodred feathers.
“I can’t believe they all like bones so much.” Alexander murmurs, “it’s a good way of disposing of it though.”
Magnus hums in agreement, because that’s exactly why he has these variants on their roof.
"I loathe her." Alexander finally whispers, "I wanted to rip her heart out. She was talking to me just like she did when she first showed up. Ungrateful, demanding, like nothing in the world matters compared to what she wants. I just wanted to kill her. Make sure she can't cause any more damage to my life, Magnus. I can't I lose anymore."
“It's alright darling, I have you and I’ve taken care of it. Clarissa will be unable to speak of where you are or that she’s seen you. Or that you're with me. Dot has also been taken care of, as apparently, she was under the impression that she enjoyed certain privileges that she does not.”
Which simply meant that she was relying on their precious dalliance to smooth things over and hadn’t expected Magnus to actually be serious about his boy.
A misunderstanding of course, but a grave one on her part. Not, however, an unforgivable one.
As long as she keeps her mouth shut from now on.

Shadowhunters
Here are some of my favourite Shadowhunters fanfiction.
Summary:
"When Jocelyn agreed to take Alec off Maryse’s hand when she was escaping Valentine she never truly realise the implication of raising two shadowhunter children but with one of them having warlock abilities on top of all that it was a struggle to keep the whole shadowworld a secret from both of them. Alec’s magic was both extraordinary and flipping annoying because she can’t remember how many pieces of furniture she had to replace because of some accidental magical burst when Alec was a toddler and don’t get Jocelyn started on trying to train Alec to control his magic. To this day she was ever so grateful for Dot for being by her side throughout the whole of Alec and Clary’s childhood.
AU: Maryse gives Alec to Jocelyn when she escapes Valentine and Alec grows up living an mundane life until Clary's eighteenth birthday when they discover the shadowworld together."
Summary:
"He grunted in pain and looked down at his injury. Seeing the sliced flesh he huffed angrily. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a pen-like object, without releasing her wrist he brought it up to one of his many complicated tattoos. It flared to life, his wounded skin knitting back together easily.
She was still crouched there with one wrist limp in his hand, her mouth open wide.
“So? How can you see me?”
She gathered herself and snapped, “More importantly, what the fuck?”
He rolled his eyes at her, “That’s a pretty open question, ‘what the fuck’ to what?”
What-If Clary and Alec had met before the start of the series."
Summary:
"Magnus is turned into a dragon and appears to be stuck that way. (This is not how he pictured his Tuesday going.)
Alec is called to handle a disturbance that involves a dragon and meets a creature that is scared and in need of protection.
Within minutes of meeting each other, they are inseparable, with Alec taking responsibility for the small dragon, and Magnus taking advantage of the protection offered by the shadowhunter.
Neither of them is expecting a convenient arrangement for them both to evolve into something much, much more."
Summary:
"When Magnus found out a shadowhunter, of all things, was taking care of a warlock child, well, to say he was shocked would be an extreme understatement.
Centuries of experience with shadowhunters had taught him that they were not to be trusted. They were cruel, and had killed many of his kind simply for existing. The other thing that scared Magnus was that the shadowhunter was a Lightwood, and of all the shadowhunter famillies he'd met, the Lightwoods were by far one of the worse.
-
Or: Author wanted a cute single dad Alec fic where he adopts Madzie and Magnus sees them together and falls in love with Alec because he's a single shadowhunter parent to a warlock child."
Summary:
"What if Alec and Magnus had already met during that Pandemonium scene in the very first episode?
-
Or, how things might have gone if Magnus and Alec had just had a few extra days to get to know each other, before Valentine’s schemes, Clary’s various crusades, Lightwood family history revelations and Clave-Downworld politics made everything more difficult for them than it really needed to be.
It truly might have made all the difference in the world."
Summary:
"Alec Lightwood, grad student at NYU, gets hired by Magnus Bane, CEO of Edom Enterprises, as the new caretaker of the latter's three kids, Max Rafael and Madzie.
Alec has a temper.
Magnus is rude.
Both have a past that they'd like to forget
Magnus' past includes an arranged marriage, heartbreak, cheating and Camille Belcourt while Alec's past... oh well, only Alec knows about his past.
They resent each other, until one day...they don't."

Top 5 fictional crushes ✨
This was so hard: I felt exactly like this tiktok
Anyways after much deliberation:
Simon Lewis
James Herondale
Jem Carstairs
Gilbert Blythe
Percy Jackson
Simon Lewis - my favourite character from TMI; I couldn't see why Clary was going for the broody angsty type when Simon was right there! I especially love him in TFTSA when he's not putting up with any of the shadowhunters' bs. So much more I could say but you also love Simon so I'm sure you already know why.
James Herondale - I love this boy so much. He's so polite and shy especially when he was younger; bookish and so loyal; it was so nice seeing him come out of his shell a bit and be confident and comfortable with the people he loves. Also!!! the people he loves he loves them with everything he is; he's also just so charming but without being cocky? Also very cute; I 100% see why Cordelia likes him so much
Jem Carstairs - I feel like at this point you can probably recognise a pattern in terms of my type lol. Jem is the sweetest human being alive and gentle and kind and so strong. He chooses to be kind and a good person everyday, despite all the horrors and suffering he has faced and the cruel hand he has been dealt. Even the small bit I've said does not fully encompass who he is as a person and fully capture why I love him so much
Gilbert Blythe - this man!! Honestly I love the romance between him and Anne so much; especially over the course of the first three books. He's hardworking, he tries so hard to be Anne's friend and just is so earnest in his efforts? He sees Anne exactly how she is and loves every single part of her - that quote in Anne of Avonlea where it says if Gilbert had been asked to describe his perfect girl, it would have been Anne, right down to the freckles on her nose that she hated so much? *screams* that is the kinda romance I want; also the way when Anne rejects him and he respects that and takes that step back to create that distance between them that he needs cos all those little things had meant so much to him and he needs space to just be her friend.... this man, just I love how respectful he is while also being able to acknowledge what is best for him. He never punishes Anne for not being able to give him more than friendship and respects her decision and does continue to be friendly; but also respects his own boundaries and knows how to put himself first. Gilbert was never cruel; I also just love their friendship and how close they were in Anne of Avonlea especially. He also pushes Anne to do her best and sends Anne the lilies of the valley when she graduates, the necklace as well at Christmas(?), letting Anne know there's no hard feelings and still showing her love and caring in a way that honours the years long friendship they've always had. Going to stop now cos otherwise I will never stop but yes Gil is just the perfect gentleman and I adore him.
Percy Jackson - this one especially I was like I love Percy - in what way ???? Percy Jackson is a character I have so much love for and his relationship with Annabeth is my absolute favourite thing to read about. I started reading Percy Jackson when I was 12 and then flew through pjo and hoo in like a year or so, so I went from being the same age as him to younger and then slowly over the years with TOA etc eventually becoming older than him. It's been a weird experience. I have so much love in my heart for Percy Jackson and I will always be so happy that I picked up these books all that time ago

hi! for the writing ask game, I'd love if you answered what you want outta: 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 12, 15, 19, 23, 24, 29, and 48! :)
*deep breath* alright then 😉
1. When did you start writing?
When I was a kid I used to write a bit but not anything serious (I did plot out an idea for a "book" that shall never see the light of day). And then twelve years ago when I was 18 I started writing fanfiction, it was also when I started writing in English (which isn't my first language, but is weirdly now the only language I know how to write stories in).
2. Favourite character?
Of all time? No idea. Seriously. But let's narrow it down a bit. Favorite character that I enjoy writing for from the fandoms I've written in a few times? Elena from TVD because it's easy to get into her headspace, and also I feel very protective of her. Sameen Shaw from Person of Interest because doing her character right is kind of a challenge for me, also I adore her. Regina Mills, though it's hard to write from her POV so I mostly have stuff from Emma just being totally in love with her. Parker from Leverage, because she's really cool. Izzy from Shadowhunters, because ditto. Lizzie from Legacies, IDK she's just one of the most complex and interesting characters in the show. River Song from DW, she's really cool and I love trying to reunite her with Thirteen. Aaaaaand I think that's enough of that.
3. Favourite AU?
From one's I've written... I think I'm really proud of this one.
Royal Marriage Agreements and Cursed Princesses and Dragons Oh My!
It's my Clary/Izzy feminist Sleeping Beauty fic where Princess Izzy's supposed to get married for political reasons but doesn't wanna and figures out that if she wakes 'the sleeping princess' then that would take precedent. There's also a bit of cute background Malec with Dragon!Magnus.
6. Do you write on your phone/laptop/paper/something else?
Usually my laptop. But if an idea for a sentence or a paragraph strikes, or if I'm editing and adding some short changes, but I don't have the laptop on me I also use my phone.
7. Favourite writing advice?
Probably the advice to not worry about making it good immediately. To write something that's terrible because once it's been written you can edit it to your heart's content. But first you need to WRITE it.
12. Your favourite work?
Currently the story I'm working on right now because I've never done something as challenging as this. Something where I keep switching points of view through the chapters, and where I'm dealing with really complicated and intricate issues of overcoming trauma, and healing, and opening up to love, and finding comfort in friendships.
She's Come Undone and Set Free
Which is the story where Elena deals with the trauma of the sire bond, as well as finds out what Damon did to Caroline in s1. Which brings stuff to the surface for Caroline, but now she has her friends there to support her. Elena and Caroline get to be ANGRY. Also there's Elejah. And a bit of Klaroline. But also a LOT of bonding for Elena, Bonnie, Caroline and Rebekah. Also the Salvatores face some actual consequences.
15. Do you ever delete works?
I have in the past. Like two or three fics I think, some of the very first ones I ever wrote. They were AWFUL. And really short. No one's missing much, I promise.
But I don't think I'm ever going to again. Even though there's a lot that makes me cringe upon rereading, it would feel wrong to delete them.
19. Where do you write?
In bed. It's weird, I know, but I have some back issues and it's better for me than staying in a chair for hours on end.
23. Least favourite part about writing fanfiction?
Starting out. Once I've started I get in the zone and the story kind of... happens, like even if I don't know where I'm going with it there's little unexpected moments that surprise me. But starting out is hell, I've somehow always have just forgotten how to write.
24. How many unfinished works are in your drafts?
I plead the fifth 😂. Seriously though... a BUNCH. I've got a half written Hizzie fic that's torturing me. A Bellarke fic that will probably never see the light of day. Some beginnings to a Marisa/Asriel fic that I lost inspiration to.
Yeah, a bunch.
29. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Hell if I know. Usually though it's when something is pisses me off about canon and my brain goes 'wouldn't it be cool if...' and then I try to write that scenario and sometimes a fic happens.
48. How do you deal with coming up with titles?
*groans* it is the WORST.
Sometimes I take the episode title and twist it. 5+1 fics make it easy and I just describe the scenario. Sometimes I take one word that is used in the fic and use that. Sometimes I pick a random song lyric.
There's not a lot of brain involved, is what I'm saying.

April l was apparently the month for me to revisit some children’s authors who are steeped in controversy at the moment. So here’s my hot (well, lukewarm) takes on issues that absolutely do not need a single other person talking about them. Also some actual good books that I read this month!
Badger in the Basement
The Animal Ark books are a childhood classic — though I recently found out that apparently there’s a difference between American and British publications, and the American versions didn’t include a lot of actual COOL animals which is… bizarre. As a Canadian stuck in the middle of this, this nonsense drives me nuts. This one was about the main character, the daughter of pair of vets, trying to protect a local badger sett from men wanting to participate in badger digging and baiting. These books are always feel-good, and it was a nice single-day-read while I waited for a library book to come in.
Chi’s Sweet Home
The cutest manga series about the misadventures of a little kitten, Chi, who has been adopted by a loving family. I’ve never bothered to read them in order, but apparently this time I stumbled across the last in the series -- whoops! Still, stood on it’s own pretty easily, and it was a fun read! Things get tense when the family realize that they may have found Chi’s original home… and may have to give up Chi forever.
Earth Before Us: Dinosaur Empire!
This was an odd graphic novel, I feel like I’m not sure who the target audience was exactly. It was a nonfiction comic done in a Magic School Bus style, with the purpose of teaching current, up-to-date facts about the animals that lived in the Mesozoic Era. If you’re into dinosaurs, you’ll probably enjoy this! The art is absolutely adorable, I love the dinosaur illustrations, and I learnt some really neat facts. That being said, the pages are really dense, and there’s a lot of info crammed in… some of it will probably go way over a child’s head without specific additional teaching or a very strong personal interest. But that being said, a dinosaur obsessed kid is still probably going to really dig this… as would a dinosaur obsessed adult. It wasn’t my cup of tea exactly but I’m sure it is someone’s.
assorted Dr Seuss Books
I love these types of controversies because it means getting to listen to every moron who has never had an opinion on Dr Seuss ever start generating a mile of them out of the aether. So many people are so mad about the six books that are getting retired and I bet most of them haven’t even read them. These are not the friggin Cat In The Hat or The Lorax or even the likes of Yertle The Turtle. I was raised by a grade one teacher, was a voracious reader who loved Dr Seuss, and wrote my university thesis on children’s literature, and I still only knew two of the six books on that list. So by all means, if you want to write an essay explaining why those specific books are worth clinging to, feel free, but if you haven’t even heard of them maybe it’s not a big deal. *grumble*
Anyway, my grousing aside, it gave me the urge to reread a bunch of Seuss books, including the two retiring books I personally knew: McElligot’s Pool and To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street. I do still enjoy both, especially McElligot’s Pool which always sparked my imagination, but it’s obvious why they’re being retired and I personally think it’s the right choice. There’s so much good kidlit out there, we can survive without these.
Goodbye, My Rose Garden
A f/f romance manga, fairly standard fair though cute if you’re looking for some historical angst, pretty dresses, and mutual pining. A young Japanese woman moves to England in the hopes of meeting a writer (Mr Frank) who she has long admired. Along the way she is employed by an enigmatic woman with plenty of money, rumours, and melancholy following her. I’ll be honest, uncut romance isn’t really my genre, but I’ll probably still try to the second book to see if the story picks up.
From The Holocaust to Hogan’s Heroes: The Autobiography of Robert Clary
It’s no secret that I’ve been on a Hogan’s Heroes kick. This is the autobiography of Roberty Clary, who plays my favourite character in the show, Louis Lebeau. And holy shit what a life this man has had. He was a Jew growing up in France before the start of the war, and who was one of many children taken away from his family and sent off to the concentration camps in Germany. This was an amazing, intense, inspiring, and heartbreaking read… it has Clary’s voice all over it, and it tells everything from the charming childhood he had, to the horrors of the concentration camps, the brutality of survival, and then about his exciting journey into the entertainment industry afterwards. It’s an experience, would recommend if you’re a fan of the show.
The Ickabog
The second controversial author I read this month. Originally I was going to give Rowling’s new book a miss, given everything that’s been going on over the past few years, but in the end my curiosity got the better of me. Politics aside, it was a fun read! Not groundbreaking, but enjoyable enough and written in an interesting style. It didn’t read the same as a lot of modern kidlit, it felt more like a cross between a classic fairytale and a Dahl book. Perhaps a bit like Despereaux. It tells the tale of how an idyllic country gradually falls into ruin through the ignorance, inaction, and greed, and how a supposedly fictional monster hides the very real, human monsters at the heart of the country. It was cute and pleasant and I’m glad I decided to get it from the library, though for anyone who is choosing not to engage for political reasons: you aren’t missing anything major.
Franklin In The Dark
A Canadian classic. I don’t think there’s a single person my age who hasn’t read or been read a pile of these books, and the nostalgia is so comforting. I found this on Youtube and listened to someone read it to me, and honestly 10/10 would recommend for a calm evening.
The big reason I decided to seek this one out though, was because I finally got to the M*A*S*H episode that inspired this entire series! In the episode C*A*V*E, in which Hawkeye is freaking out over his claustrophia while the camp is forced to take shelter in a nearby cave during some intense shelling, he mentions that if he had been born a turtle he would have been afraid of his own shell, and that the other turtles would make fun of him cause he’d be forced to walk around in his underwear. And so this first story about a young turtle who’s afraid to sleep in his own shell and drags it around behind him. So if you were ever curious, Franklin the Turtle is in fact named after Dr Benjamin Franklin Pierce. (this is also why the French version is named Benjamin!)
Wolves of the Beyond: Lone Wolf
I loved the Guardians of Ga’Hoole books as a kid but I never read the Wolves of the Beyond series. This first book was an interesting read, Lasky does a great job creating worlds and societies for the animals that inhabit them. Lone Wolf is about a deformed wolf cub who was abandoned in the wilderness to die. And he would have, if a desperate mother bear, who had recently had her only cub killed, hadn’t stumbled across him and saved him, vowing to raise him as her own...
Petals
A “silent” graphic novel. It has beautiful artwork and is told entirely through pictures, no text at all. It’s loves and heart-wrenching, though it left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied… I felt like there should have been more. Still, a neat story.
The Southern Book Club‘s Guide To Slaying Vampires
What a banger of a novel!! I can’t recommend this one enough. It’s about a group of suburban mothers in the ‘80s who form a book club out of a shared need for community and a love of grisly true crime novels. But when a strange drifter appears in town and starts setting down roots… and when children begin disappearing… these women need to band together to confront the horrors that have invaded their neighbourhood, and face down not only a terrifying monster among them but the patriarchal system that allows it to flourish. To quote the preface:
“Because vampires are the original serial killers, stripped of everything that makes us human — they have no friends, no family, no roots, no children. All they have is hunger. They eat and eat but they’re never full. With this book, I wanted to pit a man freed from all responsibilities but his appetites against women whose lives are shaped by their endless responsibilities. I wanted to pit Dracula against my mom. As you’ll see, it’s not a fair fight.“
The Weirn Books: Be Wary of the Silent Woods
I love Chmakova’s graphic novels, though I’ve only ever read her slice-of-life middle grade series before. This one is pure fantasy and very fun. It’s about two cousin “weirns” — witches with demon familiars — who attend the local night school. Things get strange though when an ominous figure appears outside the old, abandoned school house deep in the Silent Woods, and begins tempting children down its path…
I’m very much looking forward to word of a second book and was honestly kind of surprised that I haven’t heard more about this book given how popular her other series is. This has all the same charm and quirks but for those of us who prefer stories based in fantasy rather than reality.
And A Bonus...
For some masochistic reason I got a Garfield book out of the library. Jeez, if I didn’t love these as a kid, I found them absolutely laugh out loud hilarious, and now I just don’t see it anymore. But here I will share the one strip in the book that actually made me laugh

Chapter 1 - When You’re Feeling Weary
Alec is just making sure he’s mixed Magnus’ martini to his very stringent specifications when the man himself, looking entirely too put together to be feeling the supposed exhaustion Izzy’s text just warned him about, makes an entrance that has Alec eye-rolling in the fondest of ways.
Dressed in the all-black outfit with electric-blue accents that has to be Alec’s favourite, Magnus already has his attention, but the sultry neck-roll that he pairs so well with that heaving sigh guarantees it. Only before he can respond to this display of effortless sensuality, Magnus performs a well-timed heel-pivot and flops dramatically down onto the couch, with the limbs flung wide being a particularly nice touch.
Even by Magnus’ usual standards, that was impressive.
“Busy day, huh?” Alec asks, ambling over as he adds the obligatory olive. Trying, but largely failing, to keep a straight face.
“You could say that, Alexander,” comes the weary reply, followed by another sigh.
So adorable.
“Then perhaps this might help?” he enquires, holding out the drink and waiting for the reaction.
One glitter-rimmed eye cranks open. The smile is Alec’s reward.
“Well, it’s certainly a good start,” Magnus replies, eyebrows dancing as he somehow musters the energy to make it to a half-seated position, and swallows it down in one.
Okay.
“Another?”
With a wink, Magnus hands back the glass, and Alec is happy to comply. Grinning to himself as Magnus starts sniffing the air.
“Alexander, I know I may be hallucinating through sheer fatigue, but is that mouth-watering aroma I can smell coming from our kitchen, by any chance?”
More than a little offended but willing to forgive in the circumstances, Alec passes Magnus ‘liquid medicine number two’ and gallantly sees to the removal of his boots and coat.
“I’ll have you know that I’ve been practicing. Hard.”
Magnus still looks unconvinced.
“Fine. Hold onto your drink,” he warns before hoisting his disbelieving husband over his shoulder, ignoring the shriek and the spills, and marches into the kitchen where he’s only marginally more gentle about depositing him on the countertop. “Now do you believe me?”
Shame-faced, Magnus nods. His wide eyes take in the organised chaos of Alec’s dinner preparations, which Alec hopes will produce the best eight-ounce steak Magnus has ever eaten. Well, at the loft, at least.
“My apologies for doubting you, Alexander. It was just, given how-”
Palm raised, Alec halts the unnecessary explanation mid-flow. He did have form in ruining meals, after all. But not this one.
“I get it,” Alec assures him. “But like I said, I’ve been practicing.”
Two strong legs hook around his hips and draw him closer until they’re trapping him against Magnus’ body. Magnus gives him a quizzical look. “How could you possibly have known that I would need exactly this today?”
“My rather concerned sister gave me a heads up about your heroic exploits at Croton Point about an hour before you came home, because she was worried you may be feeling the consequences of having dealt with a particularly stubborn horde of Kuri earlier. Hence why everything to restore your depleted magic is already in hand.”
Alec knows he looks pretty pleased with himself, but seeing how visibly touched that news makes this man in front of him is also a worthwhile cause to be happy, without a doubt.
Raising his half-empty glass, Magnus addresses his gratitude to the ceiling. “Thank you, darling Isabelle.” Then swiftly downs the contents, before winding those equally strong arms around Alec’s neck. “You, however, deserve something altogether different as a sign of my heartfelt thanks.”
Alec couldn’t agree more, gladly accepting the thoroughly gratifying kiss that puts fire in his blood as his due for being thoughtful.
“Consider that the first of many you’ll be receiving tonight,” Magnus promises, as his thumb traces the outline of Alec’s kiss-swollen lips.
It’s Alec’s turn to heave a deep sigh.
A playful Magnus is a powerful thing, but if he wants Magnus brimming with energy to get those kisses, he needs to flex his culinary muscles without delay.
Only when he explains this is he reluctantly released.
Supplying a third martini to a now doubly-thirsty Magnus, Alec then focuses entirely on his cooking. Dodging those grabby limbs isn’t easy though. Mostly because their remarkably-energetic owner is a mischievous little shit who is in the mood for games.
A mood that Alec is hopeless to stop, not that he really wants to, even as he plates up the medium rare triumph and pours another zinger of a cocktail. Mostly thanks to Magnus’ excessive pleasure-noises as he works his razor-sharp jaw to chew, extends that elegant throat to swallow, and uses that wicked tongue to lick his lips.
Who needs actual food when you can provide a feast, Alec muses, chin resting in his palm as he dreamily enjoys the multi-sensory feedback he’s getting from a very aware Magnus. Is there anything better than seeing this man happy? Alec doesn’t think so.
He’s so eager for his second thank you kiss that Magnus has barely had time to put down his knife and fork before Alec’s dragging his chair out so that he can straddle him, their giggles making it harder but neither’s complaining.
“You continue to surprise and energise me, Alexander,” remarks a husky-voiced Magnus when they come up for air. “That was delicious.”
Alec’s about to thank him with a kiss of his own, when he adds, “The steak wasn’t too shabby either,” and they’re off giggling again.
Alec doesn’t think he’ll ever not blush when Magnus compliments him, and trying to hide behind his hands only results in being called “all kinds of cute,” so he sucks up all the embarrassing-but-secretly-pleasing adjectives being thrown at him and tugs his tormentor in the direction of their bathroom for phase three of his recovery.
Once he’s plonked Magnus in a chair and plugged his nonsense with a fifth martini, Alec fills the lavish, claw-foot tub with water, adding the iridescent blend of unknown boosters that he knows has to be used sparingly else Magnus will be on a super-charged magic rush again for days to come.
Alec didn’t think his body, or their bed, could survive that again.
Or could they?
Magnus’ filthy laugh means he’s not the only one thinking dirty thoughts, but Alec hasn’t gone to all this trouble to have both of them wiped out at the end of it.
“Cut that out,” he warns, to no avail, as he pulls the menace to his unsteady feet and begins the ever-enjoyable task of ridding Magnus of his beautiful clothes.
Meanwhile, Magnus is taking every opportunity to derail his efforts with kisses here and caresses there, deaf to Alec’s admittedly half-hearted protestations when he starts to return the favour of undressing him. All of which makes it impossible not to reciprocate with eager touches of his own.
Alec tries one last time to be good, even as he’s stepping into the bubble-filled bath and pulling Magnus down to rest against him. “I’m supposed to be helping you get your energy back, Magnus, not encouraging you to spend more.”
Magnus gives a lazy shrug of his shoulders, even as his hands begin to wander. “Then we’ll just have to take things very, very slowly.”
Oh well. He tried.
Chapter 2 - When You’re Feeling Sad
Alec’s just signing off on what feels like his hundredth mission report of the day when a message from Magnus shows up on his phone.
Mind if we postpone tonight’s plans? Fancy a quiet evening instead
His hesitation is brief, even if he’s surprised Magnus wants to skip on their much-anticipated theatre trip.
Not at all. Everything okay?
This hesitation is longer.
Tell you when you get home x
That’s all the reason Alec needs to clear his desk and inform Underhill that he’s done for the day. He knows Magnus had clients today, but he hadn’t been worried about them. As he heads home, he’s left wondering what could’ve happened since their goodbye kiss after breakfast.
The loft is in near darkness when Alec arrives, save for a sliver of light that spills from the balcony door left ajar, and the mild concern that prompted him to return early is replaced with a heavier sense of foreboding as he makes his way out there.
Hunched over the balcony wall and nursing what looks to be at least a double whiskey, is how Alec finds Magnus, and although his face can’t be seen from this angle, everything about his posture radiates a sadness that worries him.
“Magnus? Are you okay?” he asks softly, somehow still unprepared for the sorrow that’s etched on his husband’s face when he turns around and slowly shakes his head.
In two strides, Alec’s there to gather him up in a comforting hug, giving Magnus all the time he needs to explain what’s made him upset.
“We lost a promising young warlock today,” Magnus begins, barely audible from where he’s burrowed into Alec’s chest. “Her name was Zoe. A girl Clary saved the night I met you, after her father was killed by Valentine.”
“I’m so sorry to hear that, Magnus. I think I remember that name though,” Alec tells him as he presses a kiss to Magnus’ forehead. “Wasn’t she the one you asked Tessa to train at the Spiral Labyrinth?”
Magnus nods, a smile at least present in his voice now. “That’s right. She always had her head in a book, hungry for information. Gifted with an eidetic memory and a talent for learning languages, she really did have a very bright future ahead of her, until....”
Alec waits as Magnus drags in a shaky breath before continuing.
“As Tessa explained it, Zoe had recently added tutoring to her list of accomplishments. Something I was aware of, but I wish now I’d taken the time to ask her about. In lieu of her late father, I’d always felt a certain parental responsibility towards her. Anyway. While she was there, at the home of the family who hired her, she collapsed. No warning, no complaints of feeling unwell. No chance of help.”
Alec’s hands try to soothe but he doesn’t interrupt, preferring to let Magnus work through his emotions.
“I-it’s just such a shock, Alexander. Such a waste. Tessa said they can’t be sure it’s not magic-related yet, but...I’m finding it hard to accept that she’s gone. That I’ll never get to witness everything she undoubtedly would’ve become.”
Untangling himself momentarily, Alec brings him over to the lounger where he plucks the whiskey from Magnus’ hand and sets it down on the nearby table before they move in sync to settle in that age old way of dispensing comfort, with Magnus curled up in Alec’s lap, his fingers combing through Magnus’ hair.
“Magnus, I can only imagine what you and Tessa must be feeling right now. Passing way before her time, and so suddenly? It’s tragic. But I’m here for you. In whatever way helps you the most.” He’d protect him from every loss, every hurt, if he could.
“This is already helping. Truly,” Magnus assures him, head resting against Alec’s chest in order to hear the heartbeat he’s frequently said helps to send him to sleep.
Alec hopes it does now, and allows the long, peaceful minutes to stretch, feeling the tension in Magnus’ body gradually ease. He’s about to suggest they lie down instead, when Magnus speaks.
“I’m sorry about cancelling our plans tonight. I hope you’re not too disappointed?” A hint of amusement colours Magnus’ question and so, Alec takes his cue.
“Me, look forward to a show? Have you met me?”
It makes Magnus chuckle, but it’s a tired one. A state that’s reflected in how long it takes those beautiful eyes, too weary for glamour, to find his, and that elegant hand to cup Alec’s cheek in that way that never fails to make him feel precious.
“I have, and I will never be as grateful for anything else in this life, Alexander.”
The barely-there kiss is so reverential that Magnus finds sleep before Alec’s able to voice words of his own, but he hopes Magnus already knows how thankful he is too.
Closing his eyes, Alec promises to make a point of telling him as soon as they both wake up.
Chapter 3 - When You’re Feeling Overwhelmed
Alec’s not sure what’s initially responsible for disturbing his fathoms-deep slumber, but the muffled stream of expletives he hears in that very familiar voice definitely has his attention now.
Reaching out blindly for Magnus’ side of the bed in the forlorn hope that he’s mistaken, Alec groans when all his fingers encounter is cold silk. Opening his bleary eyes to confirm the distinct lack of Magnus in their bed, he tugs on a t-shirt and stifles a yawn as he sets about finding the errant husband who’d promised he “wouldn’t be much longer” hours ago.
He’s just stumbled into the dimly-lit corridor outside the bedroom when a series of kabooms, followed by what Alec can only assume is a heartfelt curse in some ancient tongue, brings him not only to the half-open doorway of the unusually-chaotic apothecary, but also fully to his senses.
Surrounded by various experiments and too engrossed in the energetic scolding of his own fisted hands to notice Alec’s arrival, is a wildly dishevelled Magnus, whose exhaustion is writ large on his handsomely expressive face.
Alec decides they're both in need of a hug.
Hitching his top over his nose so as not to inhale any of the sulphur-and-spice-scented smoke that’s fogging up the room, Alec ventures cautiously inside.
Doing his best to avoid bumping into the extra tables that are covered in a myriad of mixing bowls and mason jars, and the messy assortment of ingredients that are strewn in between them, Alec inadvertently startles his fragile husband with his sudden appearance, causing him to dislodge a cylinder of liquid that scorches a hole in the priceless Persian rug mere inches from their feet.
At which point, Magnus promptly bursts into tears and collapses in a graceless heap on the floor. Feeling terrible, Alec joins him there and holds him as he whispers abject apologies that barely make it through the racket of frustrated sobs, until finally, in between sniffles, he receives forgiveness in the form of a salt-stained kiss.
“Magnus, what are you doing in here? Whatever it is, surely it can wait until morning?” Alec asks, using the hem of his shirt to wipe the worst of the tear stains from Magnus’ face. Even smudged and saddened, he’s still easily the most beautiful man Alec’s ever seen.
“Loathe as I am to admit it, Alexander,” Magnus replies in between hiccups, “I’ve bitten off more than I can chew with my current list of client orders, and instead of rectifying this sooner, I shall now have to admit to them, and to myself, that my own hubris will result in them either being delayed or cancelled all together.”
Even his gulp is cute, Alec muses, before pondering the best way to go about saving Magnus’ hard-won reputation from the brink of destruction, preferably without the need for any humiliating apologies. Given the time constraints, he can only think of one.
“I’m assuming at least some of those orders need filling by tomorrow if you haven’t been able to sleep yet?”
Sheepishly, Magnus holds up six shaky fingers, and regardless of whether or not the answer had been that or six hundred, Alec was not about to see those orders fail. Not with so much at stake.
Getting to his feet and pulling Magnus up with him, Alec offers his suggestion as his hands make light work of straightening out Magnus’ robe and his hair.
“Here’s what’s going to happen.” A hopeful glint in those warm brown eyes almost distracts him. “I’m going to put some pants on and make us both a generous mug of strong, black coffee while you salvage what you can here, and then,” he chuckles, cupping Magnus’ eager face in his hands, “I will try my best to help prepare the ingredients you need, so you can then concentrate on whatever process is needed for each order.”
Concerned, Magnus grips Alec’s waist and asks, “But it will take at least two hours for all the distilling and blending to be done, and then there’s-”
“Uh-uh, none of that. Positive thoughts only, Mr Lightwood-Bane, you have a humble assistant that needs training, after all,” Alec counters, dropping an encouraging kiss that threatens to flare out of control until Alec takes a firm step backwards.
“We’re supposed to be working,” he warns, wagging his finger at his unrepentant mentor and backing carefully out of the room, much preferring the sound of Magnus’ laughter to the sound of his tears.
With the aid of caffeine to boost their concentration and a near constant supply of cheeky kisses and inappropriate booty grabs, along with a lot of hard graft, dawn finds them bone-tired but relieved that their joint sacrifice has paid off.
Now, with two orders already boxed and ready to go, three in the final stages of resting and one that just requires filtering every half hour, Alec finally feels confident enough in their ability to meet the delivery deadlines to insist that Magnus, a spent force at this stage, catches up on the sleep denied him earlier.
Magnus’ mumbled protests eventually peter out as he’s carried bridal-style to their bed and tucked beneath the sheets, his peaceful expression being all the reward Alec needs to see him through the final hours of his vigil.
Chapter 4 - When You’re Feeling Worried
Having arrived home sooner than expected from his weekend of intensive Portal Enhancement lectures in Stockholm, Magnus can’t deny he’s more than a little disappointed not to be greeted by a strong pair of arms and an enthusiastic pair of lips.
Especially when his reason for curtailing his professional obligations was so he could be here for Alec on the eve of his important meeting with fellow institute heads.
Proud as he is of Alec’s commitment to change, they both know there’ll be many who will try and resist his controversial proposal that they each create their own Downworld Cabinet without delay, in order to deliver on promises made to their counterparts. As he’d said many times, no change worth making was ever easy.
A deep sigh escapes him.
Just for one day, it would be nice to let the mantle of responsibility slip from their shoulders and have nothing but each other’s happiness to worry about, but Magnus will gladly take every day he can get with Alec and cherish it, whatever the challenges may be. And right now, the challenge is to discover the whereabouts of his husband.
Skype catch-ups and hastily-arranged phone sex are no substitute for enjoying the tangible presence of your biggest supporter and primary stress-reliver rolled into one.
Only stopping long enough to make sure his research papers are stored securely in the apothecary’s safe and his case is banished to the bedroom, Magnus portals to Alec’s office where he finds his very own sleeping beauty sprawled awkwardly across the couch, surrounded by pages of scribbled out presentation notes, cartons of barely touched food and a dozen or so coffee cups that have been drained of every drop.
Another deep sigh escapes him.
Heart full at seeing that much-missed face, youthful in its slumber, but feeling guilt over allowing himself to be persuaded that Alec’s preparations were all going well and his smiling reassurances were genuine, Magnus vows to do better in future and prepares to get Alec, and his proposal, back on track.
Shrugging off his coat and folding it over the least cluttered surface he can find, he locks the door behind him with a quiet flourish and soundproofs the room, because as far as Magnus is concerned, only he should be privy to those adorable little snores.
Unable to give into the overwhelming urge to wake Alec up with slow kisses, Magnus settles instead on burying his face in the soft, untidy curls that still smell of sandalwood, as he kneels down to better wrestle Alec’s heavy limbs into a more comfortable position.
Guessing that Alec probably hasn’t slept much in the last twenty-four hours, he decides to leave him be for a little longer and covers him in the cashmere blanket that Magnus insists on being kept here in case of emergency naps, reviving the fire with a flick of his wrist.
Rolling up his sleeves and allowing his gaze to sweep those handsome features one last time, he turns his attention to the task in hand.
In the absence of a conscious Alec to berate, Magnus grumbles his way through the clean up operation, aware most of his annoyance is aimed at himself for not being here to help, but also knowing that sometimes, their work has to come first. He wishes it didn’t.
Decluttering the desk, and lamenting how Alec always manages to look after everyone but himself, Magnus' annoyance at all the unnecessary edits Alec has made to his already-perfect speech evaporates. As he organises them into what he thinks was the original order, it’s too easy to picture how Alec’s self-doubt would’ve made him see flaws in his preparation that just weren’t there.
Oh, Alexander, I wish you’d told me how you were really feeling.
Wrinkling his nose up at the pungent leftovers and the dark circles staining the surface of the desk, he quickly gets rid of the rubbish, replacing the stagnant odours with the mouth-watering smell of baked goods and beverages from their favourite bakery.
If he places it right under Alec’s nose in the hopes it wakes him up, so what? Magnus has been separated from the beautiful man that’s so temptingly draped across the cushions for two very long days and nights, and he’s missed him dreadfully. Surely, Alec has had enough rest by now.
Toeing off his boots and climbing cat-like over Alec to wedge himself against the back of the cosy couch, Magnus carefully adjusts the blanket to cover both of them and snuggles in, breathing in the familiar scent of the man and feeling at home in every sense of the word.
Arms tighten around him on instinct and Magnus can’t suppress his smile when it’s followed by a sleepy, “That’s better.”
“Much better,” Magnus whispers, trailing soft kisses down the side of Alec’s throat that can be reached without disturbing him....too much.
Appreciative noises fill his ears and embolden him to seek out more skin, until Alec is finally roused to wakefulness and greeting Magnus with kisses of his own.
“I must say, this is a very, very nice surprise,” Alec informs him once he has Magnus securely settled on top of him.
“I’m very, very glad to hear it,” Magnus replies, finally content but unwilling to let things he’s worried about slide just yet. “Alec, listen,” he begins earnestly, “you have to tell me when-” before Alec interrupts.
“When things get on top of me? I know, Magnus, and I’ll do better next time. Really,” he sighs, eyes closing briefly before they urge him to believe his words. “I shouldn’t have tried to hide my stress. I should’ve been honest with you about how I was feeling about tomorrow.” Tipping his head towards the cleared space, he adds, ”Preferably, before it got to whatever that was.”
Believing him, Magnus plants a lasting thank you kiss on his cheek. “May I humbly suggest that those unnecessary changes you made to your excellent speech be forgotten?”
“Sure thing,” Alec quips, eager to show Magnus just how much he’s been missed. “It’s like I’ve told you before, I can’t think straight when you’re not around.”
Magnus hums in agreement. “And as I’ve told you before, I can’t do anything without thinking of you.”
Alec’s eyes are dancing with mischief as he quickly flips them over to start working on opening Magnus’ buttons.
“Then it’s clearly in both of our best interests to stay as close to each other as possible.”
“Clearly,” Magnus agrees, following suit.
Then finally, their reunion begins in earnest.

In a shocking turn, for the ask game: shadowhunters
Oh man, I have such a complicated relationship with this show.
my all-time ultimate fave character: Clary Fray. No questions asked.
a character I didn’t used to like but now do: Hmm, this is hard. Book knowledge is coming into this as well possibly Maryse? I didn't like her in the books, but I did in the show.
a character I used to like but now don't: Alec. I loved him in the books and at the beginning of the show, but he soured on me so much as the show went on.
a character I’m indifferent about: Probably Maia, Jordan in the show (definitely less of a fan in the books), Max
a character who deserved better: CLARY! How are you going to have this character be selfless and save the world AGAIN just for her to even verbalize that she has FINALLY found her place just so she could lose EVERYTHING and suffer in silence at the wedding? She lost her boyfriend who was the ONLY person who even seemed to care in that flashforward, her mother was dead, pretty sure Luke was presumed dead, Dot was gone, and her home was burned. Imagine what she went through when she left that church. I'm so angry again.
a ship I’ve never been able to get into: Maia/Simon, even in the books. Maia/Jordan, but that's a whole nother can of worms.
a ship I’ve never been able to get over: Clary and Jace
a cute, low-key ship: Simon/Isabelle
an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: I don't know if I would call it unpopular but a lot of people do seem to DISLIKE Clace.
a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: Luke and Maryse
my favourite storyline/moment: everything Clary did...
a storyline that never should have been written: most of the last season? Clary losing her memories?
my first thoughts on the show: I really liked it despite it straying far from the books.
my thoughts now: Look, I try to give adaptations room to be their own thing. No adaptation is going to be exactly like the source material. However, this one really did their own thing and I was just left with anger. I was fine with a lot of the changes--making the characters older, tbe Shadowhunters being more high-tech, even some of the relationship dynamics (I was ALL FOR Clary and Izzy being parabatai). There were a lot of changes I couldn't take--killing Jocelyn, turning Luke back into a Shadowhunter are 2 of the biggest ones that jump out at me. I know this is unpopular but I really started to dislike Malec toward the end, moreso Alec. I did not agree with the way he was portrayed and part of that could've been the love he received from the fandom while Clary got all the hate. I hated the wedding. I felt like Magnus got the short end of the stick a lot.
But the thing that I will never get over from this show is Clary's ending. This girl lost everything she knew, gained a family and a belonging in a world, was warned that if she used her powers again that she would be punished, and STILL used them tk save the world when she didn't have to. She was punished by having everything stripped away from her. She was the most selfless person on that show and often criticized as being selfish when she was so far from it. She is the definition of character who deserved better.
And THEN, they jump forward a year to Jace going to the art exhibit to see her and everyone else doing whatever. And Jace seemed to be the only person who cared about what she sacrificed. Not even the man she considered a father seemed to care. And that hurt even worse.
Basically, I loved this show. I really did. But I'll never forgive them for what they did to Clary.

Max arrived late at training that day. He’d been making plans with Rafe, who had gone to do “stuff”, to scout out the school and Central Park, where Rafe had killed the first Greater Demon.
What awaited him was a special guest. “Mina Carstairs!” Max exclaimed, and ran to hug one of his best friends. Wilhelmina Yiqiang Ke Carstairs, daughter of Tessa Gray and James Carstairs, 15 years old, hugged him back with fierce affection.
“Max! I’ve been waiting for you,” she said when they broke apart and Max could finally breathe. Mina’s grin brought a smile to his own face; her cheeriness was contagious.
“Sorry, didn’t realise it was so late. How come you’re here? Did Uncle Jem or Aunt Tessa come with you?” He looked around, in hopes of finding Tessa’s serious face, or Jem’s kind one.
For a second a dark cloud came over Mina’s expression, but then she brightened, making Max wonder if maybe it was a trick of his imagination. “No, I’m here alone. Ma and Ba had some urgent work in Los Angeles. Thought I’d come visit you while they’re gone.”
Max had a feeling there might be more to that, but didn’t ask more. He led her to the training room, where they could hear voices from inside. Mina, ever the troublemaker, shot a gesture which Max interpreted as quiet, idiot! when in his defence he hadn’t even said anything. Yet.
“…not necessary!” came Aunt Clary’s voice, stubborn and determined. She seemed upset, although Max couldn’t imagine why. Aunt Clary was one of the strongest people he knew, easy to laugh and hard to deter.
“Clary…” that was Uncle Jace, his voice surprisingly serious. The rest of the words were cut off by Church’s large and accusatory meow right where Max and Mina stood. “Stupid cat!” Max was fairly sure Uncle Jem would not approve of Mina calling Church stupid, but before he could point that out, the doors of the training room burst open.
Clary looked surprised, and as Max had suspected, a little upset, but Jace looked as he always did: a lazy smile on his face, ready to make a joke.
Clary hugged Mina and told her she looked really pretty. Mina went on to ramble about “How Aunt Clary’s top that day really complimented her eyes.” Typical Mina, ever the flatterer. She hugged Jace too, who winked at Max and then he and Clary went down the hall.
“What do you think they were talking about?” Mina said almost immediately as soon as they were out of sight, looking as if she’d found her favourite ice cream in the fridge (you knew I was going to make an ice cream analogy).
“I don't know,” he replied, slowly. It surprised Max that something could upset his Aunt Clary, who was one of the strongest and bravest shadowhunters he’d known.
Mina looked disappointed. She could never resist a good story. “So, you wanna train with me?” She asked, her eyes brightening again. Max nodded, Mina’s contagious smile making its way to his own face.
As they entered the training room, they were immediately met by a loud thump! as Auraline Herondale plopped out of the armchair she was hiding under, hitting her head in the process. Ari may have inherited extraordinary angelic powers from her parents, which allowed her to best almost anyone in a fight, but that didn’t stop her from being as clumsy as an egg.
A blush climbed to Auraline's face as soon as she came face to face with Mina. Mina was about two years older than her, and ever since Ari met her she’d adored the other girl. Max found it all oddly amusing and very sweet.
Mina hugged the flustered girl, and Max was half sure Ari would faint right there. Ari was a sweetheart to everyone she met. She worshipped Mina.
“It is so great to see you again, Ari! How have you been?” Mina asked her. Auraline’s eyes went full wide, making her look like an overly frightened fly in the web of a spider. Max found it weird, mostly because of the genetics, that Auraline might have a crush on Mina. Jace was descended from Tessa’s children while Mina was herself Tessa’s daughter. Nonetheless, they were both his best friends.
(Ok, ok. I get that it's *kind of* incest. But only a little bit. I think it’s cute. And they totally don’t have to date. Just saying.)
After regaining her composure, Ari managed to sputter out that she was fine. Mina’s eyes glittered. “So, tell me what you overheard,” she said, a devilish grin spreading on her face.
Thank you so much for reading I love y’all

Hi Clari!!! I hope you're doing well and had an amazing weekend! I'm sorry if you've already answered something like this before! 😊
I was having big thoughts about the twins, but then I couldn't remember if you'd mentioned the other Todoroki siblings existing in this AU!?!
You may have done and I just missed it, but if the other siblings already do, and if not, did exist in the AU, what would the twins relationship be like with them?
I can imagine Touya being the more approachable of the two, I feel he'd click quite well with Fuyumi perhaps? They both give me those sort of caregiver vibes 😅
Natsuo and Dabi I can imagine being close, not quite as close as in the Touya - Nii series, but I can still imagine Natsuo looking up to both his big brothers because they're so cool! (Dabi is just that smidge cooler to him though 😌)
Would Shoto still be Enji's perfect poster boy, or would Touya have taken that spot?
Would the twins be open to sharing the reader with Natsuo like Touya-Nii did in the Snowman and Me series? Or is it strictly something kept between the twins?
Do the Todoroki family know about the reader and the twins relationship? Do they approve?
There are just too many thoughts for my one track mind 😩😌
It'd be really interesting to know your take! --- The anon who dreamt about living with Dabi on a ranch 🐥
hello sweetpea!!!! oh you’re so lovely <33 thank you bb i hope you had a wonderful weekend as well!!! <3
BUT ANONNNN I AM SHOUTING HAHAHAHA oh my gosh okay first of all you and i have got to be on the same wavelength today bb hehehe because i haven’t mentioned their relationship with the other todoroki siblings much on my blog but i do have (and have had) their relationships with each mapped out in my notebook for months now and i was literally looking it over when you sent this in!! <33
AH SO MANY GOOD QUESTIONS LET’S GET INTO IT WEEEEEEE <3
so first i’m going to link you to this post (which kinda just delves into their relationship with each other but touches upon other relationships in the family) and this post (which discusses dabi’s reaction to yelling and touches upon his trauma related to enji; pls heed the tws!!) but to reiterate and all that:
twin!touya pretty much gets along with all of his siblings in some way. he’s the perfect model of an older brother. as i mentioned in the first post linked above, touya is just really good at playing the part. twin!dabi, on the other hand, barely gets along with anyone other than his twin. he’s extremely difficult to be around about 97% of the time.
natsuo definitely does think both of his older brothers are super super cool, and he follows them around like a puppy when they’ll let him, but he’s actually closer to twin!touya than he is to twin!dabi, simply because twin!dabi won’t let him get too close; dabi’s extreme trust issues get in the way. still, natsuo was the only one there for dabi when touya had been taken from him, and that forged quite a lasting and deep bond, even if it terrifies dabi to this day, even if dabi tries his very hardest to shove natsuo away because of it, even if it’s still extremely complex; a jumbled, tangled mess in his heart. but natsuo understands, and he’s nothing if not resilient, so he kinda just bounces back from it each and every time. but twin!touya has a special soft spot for natsuo, because natsuo was there to take care of his baby twin brother when he wasn’t, and to touya, that means the whole world to him <3 touya hopes that one day his twin will let his guard down enough to let natsuo into his heart, too.
fuyumi is incredibly suspicious of twin!touya. she’s smart as a whip, just like he is, and she can read him like a book and knows when he’s up to something; and he’s always up to something. all she wants is for her family to get along, for god’s sake, and she knows touya’s a threat to that, because he knows how ridiculously manipulative he is, and how he’s planning something against their father—fuyumi is the only of the todoroki siblings that actually has sympathy for their father. thus, even though touya has told her time and again not to worry about it, that everyone will be happy in the end, she knows ‘the end’ does not include their father in any way, shape, or form. still, with that being said, they get along quite well, and they’re constantly throwing teasing quips each other’s way <3 when it comes to twin!dabi, fuyumi’s heart positively breaks for him. he shoves her away, too, because he doesn’t know how to deal with her overwhelming love, but that does not deter her in the slightest. she was there, she witnessed what happened to him, she helped natsuo take care of him in every way she could; in fact, fuyumi took care of that entire family after her mother left. but she has such a soft spot for twin!dabi in her heart, a special type of unconditional love and sympathy for him, and she’ll always be there for him, no matter how many callous insults he spits her way. she views him akin to a terrified animal, and she understands why he lashes out, and sometimes—very rarely, but sometimes—he will let her take him into her arms and hold him, hug him, shush him. she was pretty much the mother he never had for those years when he was without his twin, even though she’s a little younger than he is. so there’s a very interesting, very complex bond there as well.
shouto loves both of his eldest brothers so much. twin!touya loves him back, thinks he’s an absolutely brilliant kid and such a kind, beautiful soul, but he can’t help but feel some resentment towards him; residual feelings that have been transferred from his twin to him. still, he tries to bury them, because he knows none of this is actually shouto’s fault, and that their father is the true villain here, the true one to blame. as i mentioned in the first post linked above, twin!dabi hates shouto with a fierce passion, because he feels betrayed for his twin, betrayed by the way their father so quickly found an (inferior, in his opinion) replacement for touya—to mold into the perfect puppet—and he himself feels a little slighted, too, angry and offended that their father didn’t even try to mold him in replacement of his twin and just went straight to the next ‘perfect’ child, because twin!dabi was too much work, he’s sure. shouto is terrified of dabi, but he looks up to touya with absolute stars in his eyes <3
rei feels incredibly guilty. she likes to pretend that she doesn’t know why she took only twin!touya when she really should’ve taken them both, and will regret for the rest of her life seperating the two of them for a few years. it was incredibly selfish of her, to snatch touya up only because she knew it would hurt her husband the most, and to leave twin!dabi and the rest of her children there with such a brute for a father. dabi hates her for it, and she doesn’t blame him. she hopes one day he can find it in his heart to forgive her for such a horrible mistake, but she knows it’s a slim possibility. she is very, very close to twin!touya though.
i have already touched upon their relationship with enji in the posts linked above, but basically twin!touya IS still enji’s favourite, and enji only latched onto shouto after rei took touya away (during the divorce). touya is still first in line for the family business, and shouto acts as more or less of a back-up, in case touya fails. he’s also easier to control, which is quite appealing to enji, too.
and then, as you can tell, the twins themselves have a very, very unhealthy codependency on each other; they can barely function without one another now <3
ANYWAY LOVELY, THOSE ARE THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE SIBLINGS + THEIR PARENTS!!! to answer your last few questions:
would the twins be open to sharing the reader with natsuo like touya-nii did in the snowman and me series? or is it strictly something kept between the twins?
no, they absolutely would not share her with natsuo, this is something very special and sacred and kept strictly between them <3
do the todoroki family know about the reader and the twins relationship? do they approve?
EHEHEHEHE this is something i’m really really looking forward to exploring in the future of the series!!! because the angst potential is totally insane hehe <3 the answer is, it’s extremely complicated. enji doesn’t approve at all. like, at ALL. he hates to think what the press would think, if this ever got out, and he knows dabi would be more than willing to leak it; anything to hurt his father, right? natsuo thinks it’s SO awesome and super hot, fuyumi thinks it’s quite cute how they share everything, but worries for the poor sweet reader since she knows how her brothers can be, and shouto can’t even think about it without blushing and getting super embarrassed; he isn’t really sure what he thinks yet, but he feels like it’s more their business than his own. rei is on the fence; she wants her boys to be happy, but is this really the best and healthiest way to do it? does she even have a say in it at all? is it really her place or her right to step up and say something? she isn’t sure.
i hope this answers all of your questions bb!!!! thank you so much for asking aaaah i LOVE talking about stuff like this and i am super super excited to explore it deeper within the series!!!! AH EHEHE I REMEMBER U AND UR DREAM <3333 aw such a cute lil chick emoji 🥺🥺 i hope you’re doing wonderful my friend and i wish you many more touya dreams in the future <3
#SUCH GOOOOOOD QUESTIONS!!!! THANK U SO MUCH#SORRY MY POST IS SOOOOOO LONG HAHAHAHA i have pages upon pages of this in my journal so i tried to condense it and not give too much away <3#i just wanted to capture the essence of each relationship and let u know <3#if u have anymore questions pls let me know!!!!#have an amazing week sweetpea!!! <33#i am sending u lots n lots of love and health!! as always pls stay safe!!#inky.bb#FARMER TOUYA DREAMER#LMAO <333#clari gets mail#inky.twins#todoroki twins dabi and touya

Top 7 Favourite Shadowhunter Couples
I was going to do just a Top 5 list, but when I actually started to think and plan out which couples I wanted to talk about, I realized that I could never just fit 5. I am also going to do some honorable mentions for the couples that I just want to give some love to. I love Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter world and I’ve read every single book that she’s written in that world (and every extra-novella/short story book too!) I am just fully invested in her characters and the universe she has created. (Also this is going to be full of spoilers so if you haven’t read any Cassandra Clare books, this might not be the thing to read).
Honorable Mentions
So for my HM’s I just wanted to mention four couples that I really love, but just couldn’t make it on the list, so those are:
Bat & Maia- from The Mortal Instruments. I just love them together so much and I always wanted them to find someone special, especially Maia, who’s just been through so much. I was happy when she was with Simon (but I preferred him with Izzy) and I really loved her with Jordan, but they just didn’t seem to click in the right way and Maia didn’t feel the way he felt about her (she didn’t love him). But then Jordan dies and I really wanted Maia to find someone who she could love… and she found that with Bat which was super cute!
Charlotte & Henry- from The Infernal Devices series. I love them so much and the reason they are not on the actual list though, is because we just never really saw their journey in actually falling in love, we only saw them after they were married. But all of the scenes with the two of them together makes me very happy and I can’t wait to see more of them in the next Last Hours books.
James & Cordelia- from The Last Hours. I also put them here because we actually don’t know for sure if they end up together (I think they will but you never know with Cassie!) They are on the family tree and are said to be together, but Cassie has said many times during the release of Chain of Gold, that we cannot trust the family tree. (It already got the date of Lucie’s birthday wrong). Anyways, I just really want both James and Cordelia to find happiness (and Matthew!)
Ty & Kit- from The Dark Artifices. These two didn’t really have a happy ending in the series, but Cassie did say that we would see more of them in The Wicked Powers series, which I am very excited for. Also, I am not fully certain that these two are meant to be romantically involved, although I do know lots of people in the fandom ship them together and they were very good friends in the books, I don’t know if they were very really heading down that road. But it doesn’t matter since I think that they would be really cute together and since they already have so much history, I think that they could make it work too.
7.Simon (Lewis) Lovelace & Isabelle Lightwood
I love these two!! I mean, they have just been through so much and I think that in the end they have shown everyone that they are meant to be together. From the start with Simon being in love with Clary and Izzy having lots of other boyfriends, to Simon becoming a vampire and playing both Izzy and Maia, to them finally being together and then Simon gets all of his memories taken away! They just had all the obstacles and got through them all too! I thought it was the most romantic thing for Simon to fight for Izzy in Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy even though he knows he can’t give her everything she wants. They make it all work out in the end and are engaged finally (but I don’t think they’ve gotten married yet… but I might be wrong.)
6. Clary Fairchild & Jace Herondale
These two have also had it hard. From being siblings to being possessed and winning a war, Jace and Clary went against all odds to come out together. But they still didn’t get the immediate happy ending when they went on their own little adventure in The Dark Artifices and Clary doesn’t want to marry Jace because she thinks she’s going to die soon. And even after it’s all said and done, and we think they can finally be happy and at peace, frickin Jace from that other realm has to come and want to tear them apart again! Like, haven’t they been through enough!? But I have a feeling that they will still come out of it all together and I hope one day maybe even… become… parents? That would be exciting!
5. Diana Wrayburn & Gwyn ap Nudd
The two of them were a blessing to read about. I absolutely loved every single scene with them together and was shipping them from day one. I thought it was also very fitting that the characters from The Dark Artifices all be involved with the Fae in more than one way. We have the Blackthorns being connected to Mark, and Christina is connected to both him and Kieran, and the Seelie Queen is connected to the TMI characters. So I thought it was perfect that Diana got her own personal connections to the Leader of the Hunt and you could see how many faeries are actually good people and can fall in love with Shadowhunters.
4. Christina Rosales, Mark Blackthorn, & Kieran
I LOVE THESE THREE! Really, I was totally shipping Christina with Mark from the beginning and actually was not too fond of Kieran with Mark, but when I saw that Kieran also loved Christina AND Mark and all three of them could be together, I felt completed. Prior to reading Cassandra’s books I was pretty uncultured and unaware of the types of lives that LGBTQ+ members had to live, and all of the types of relationships humans could have. Mind you, I was young when I first started these series and when Alec and Magnus first got together I was so happy, until I started to realize more things outside of my bubble of reading. I started to understand that our world is not full of acceptance and these relationships are frowned upon. I honestly hadn’t realized that when I was small. But reading about people like Christina, Mark and Kieran so casually in these books, gives me hope for the future. So thank you Cassie, for showing the truth in your books. You educate us.
3. Tessa Gray & Jem Carstairs
Now from the beginning of The Infernal Devices series, I always loved Will the most. Maybe it was because of him being this alluring bad boy type, but I just loved him and he loved Tesse, so I wanted him to get Tessa. That doesn’t mean that I don’t love Jem. Jem is such an amazing character who I also love and wish happiness for, but he’s just not Will. At the end of the series when we find out Jem turns into a Silent Brother and Will isn’t cursed, I was really happy, but still sad for Jem. When Will dies and Tessa has to live hundreds of years alone, I was very sad, because Jem was there. In TMI when Jem is fried from being a Silent Brother and got to be with Tessa, I was beyond happy. They finally got their own love story and are now married with a daughter and an adopted son, all of which they deserve. It was the best thing Cassandra Clare could do, giving Tessa both Will and Jem, and letting them both have families of their own. So that is why, even though I wanted Will to be with Tessa from the beginning, I am still in love with Tessa and Jem being together.
2. Alec Lightwood & Magnus Bane
Alec and Magnus's love story has been rocky, but that makes it all the more special. Where they are at the end of everything is together with two adorable boys to call their own. I love Magnus as a character. I did a whole project about him in school once. He is my favourite character of all time. I have watched him grow and be in relationships and grow from them and be heartbroken and everything. But what he has with Alec is special and they deserve each other and are definitely two halves of the same soul. They are for sure my second favourite couple from the Shadowhunter world… and probably of all time. I just love them and their family like no other. (Well maybe like one other…)
1. Tessa Gray & Will Herondale
And we’re finally at the top (or bottom) of the list. Like I said in Tessa’s and Jem’s part, I was shipping Will and Tessa from the start, and even though I love Tess and Jem together, Tessa and Will have a love story that surpases it all. They were meant for each other and they deserve to be together and the fact that they got to start a family together and be together for the rest of Will’s life, is beautiful. The biggest part I was excited for going into reading Chain of Gold, was the fact that I was going to see Will and Tessa together and see them as parents and them be happy. Now that I’ve read the book I’m also there for their kids and their stories, but I started it for Will and Tessa and I will keep reading the series for them and all the other characters. It is beyond me, how Cassandra Clare can write characters and relationships that have everyone so invested in them and their lives. It is a gift, her writing, and I can’t wait for more couples to come together and for more beautiful love stories in her next books.
If you got to the end, thank you, and if you didn’t… well you’re not reading this then so it doesn’t matter. Until next time!

Jealous - Alec Lightwood
A/N - Been busy with life but I’m back baby :D Hope this is everything you wanted and more <3
T/W - Adult themes, sexual assault
----------------------------------------------------------
“Come on Y/N! Keep up!” Your best friend Alec was stood in front of you, sweat glinting off his athletic form, a cheeky smirk on his face. You may have a slight crush on him but you weren’t gonna let him know that.
“I’m comin’, I’m comin’. We can’t all be half-angel fitness buffs.” You knew you looked a mess, sweat on Alec looked hot, sweat on you made you look like a lumpy dumpling. Alec tried unsuccessfully to hide the smile that lit up his face.
The two of you were climbing to your secret treehouse. It was just outside of the city. It wasn’t really a treehouse, just a giant tree with a hole in it. Together, you had decked the hole out with blankets and pillows. Whenever things got too hectic at the Institute the two of you would escape to your hideout.
Everyone had told you how Alec normally never mixed with mundanes but when you’d met him a year ago, after meeting him through Simon, he had been enamoured with your, what he called “sparky-ness”. He found Clary’s attitude grating but on you, he found it adorable.
When you finally reached your little safe space, you stopped to catch your breath before laying out the picnic you’d packed at home. The two of you spent the next few hours just talking and laughing about anything and everything.
The conversation turned to the topic of dating when an attractive runner gave Alec a suggestive up-down look. You joked about Alec ignoring them, suggesting that maybe he knew he didn’t have enough game.
“I have more than enough game Sparky! You’re the one who hasn’t been on a single date since we met!”
You knew that it was true but you weren’t about to tell him that it was because he’d had your heart the moment you laid eyes on him.
“Yeah, well Simon set me up with one of the guys from Magnus’ apartment block, I’m going out with him tonight once we get back!”
You hadn’t meant to tell Alec unless things got serious but at that moment you wanted to make him jealous.
“We better not stick around here then, pack up and I’ll take you back so you can get ready.”
This was not the response you expected. You didn’t know what you expected but it definitely wasn’t acceptance. It almost felt like he was rushing to get you on this date. You watched as he started packing up the blanket and leftovers, your chest felt tight and your stomach dropped.
“Yeah, I guess.” You sighed as you got up and dusted yourself off.
The walk back to the Institute was awkward, you didn’t know what to do, things had never been awkward. Several times you opened your mouth to talk but nothing seemed appropriate. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Alec do the same thing. Clary was waiting outside, a glint in her eye, obviously Simon had told her about your up-coming date.
“A little birdy told me that you’re going out tonight!” She ran up and started dragging you inside. “Alec you can drop that stuff inside, I’m going to go get this goddess all dolled up.”
Alec just grunted in acknowledgement before sulking off to the kitchen. You turned to follow Clary, knowing that if you weren’t careful you’d end up tripping while she pulled you further inside. As you both entered your room, there was Isabelle, make-up brushes at the ready. You had helped both these girls get ready for dates in the past and now they were going to help you.
Despite being with two of your closest friends, you couldn’t muster any excitement as they offered different outfit choices. You saw Isabelle giving you a look, you’d never told her or Clary about your crush but you suspected they already knew.
“Alright, sit on the bed.” You did as you were told. Clary climbed on behind you and started brushing and playing with your hair. “What’s wrong? Only this morning you were grinning away about this date and now it feels like we’re dressing you for your execution.”
Silence seemed like the only option. How could you explain that you were upset over her brother? Upset over a boy who you had no romantic connection with. It sounded stupid, even in your own head. Logic and reasoning was normally your strong suit. The hurt you were feeling was not logical.
“It’s Alec isn’t it?” You couldn’t meet her intense gaze but you nodded none-the-less, there was no point trying to lie to Isabelle. “That idiot! What did he say? If he was mean to you, I swear I will beat him from here to London.”
You started to cry, prompting both girls to wrap their arms around you, both muttering about the unthinkable things they were going to do to Alec.
“No, no. It’s not that.” You managed to splutter out in between sniffs. “If anything, he was nice about it.”
Isabelle and Clary both looked very confused but didn’t say anything. Clary just continued to stroke your hair while Isabelle held your hands. You explained what had happened at the picnic, how you had wanted to make him jealous, how stupid and hurt you felt when he seemed indifferently accepting. As you talked Clary continued braiding your hair and was just tying it up by the time you’d finished rambling. Isabelle just looked thoughtful, nodding every so often to let you know that she was listening. There was a beat of silence while Isabelle decided what to say.
“Alec is my brother, but you are my friend, Y/N. I will not let the fact that he is my brother affect my advice. In all honesty, I always thought there was more than just friendship between you two, I knew you’d both figure it out eventually. Maybe it’s just taking Alec a little longer to figure it out.” There was a look in her eye you couldn’t quite place. “We’ll make him realise what he’s missing out on.”
With a sly little smile, Isabelle got to work.
An hour later and you had been pushed and pulled into a person that you barely recognised. The dress you were wearing was one of your favourites, a white skater dress with cute bell sleeves. Nothing too extreme, the dress gave a gentle angelic vibe that made it seem like you were glowing. The make-up highlighted your eyes, framing them with a thin black line. A soft pink lipstick turned your lips into a perfect little rose. Isabelle and Clary nodded in appreciation, a little self-serving but you couldn’t help but smile at your two best friends.
“If my idiot brother doesn’t take right there on the dining room table, then I will.” Isabelle threw you a cheeky little wink, which made you and Clary giggle.
This was it. You were all dressed up and now you had somewhere to go, and it was terrifying. What if Alec didn’t care? You took a deep breath and steadied yourself before walking out to the main living area.
“Good luck!” A chorus of well-wishes followed you out the door.
You knew Alec would most likely be sat with the boys so you lifted your head a little, stuck out your chest and swayed from side to side. As you entered the room, you heard the appreciative murmurs from Simon and Jace, you smiled slightly and flicked your hair, enjoying the attention.
“Whatever.” You looked over to see Alec intently staring at the TV. Simon had obviously tried to get his attention, but he wasn’t interested. Like that, your chest deflated and your face dropped. How could he not care?
“I guess I’ll see you guys later, I guess.” You gave a small wave and turned quickly to make sure they didn’t see the tears in your eyes.
It was only going for a few drinks, you didn’t have to stay for long so you tried to muster a little enthusiasm for the guy standing in front of you. He was relatively attractive, you had to admit he was exactly your type and Simon had made a good choice, but he wasn’t Alec.
A few drinks in and you felt your face flush, the guy had put his hand on your leg, he had told you his name but you hadn’t cared enough to listen. He took the lack of protest as a sign of encouragement, inching his hand higher to under your skirt. You swayed on your seat and leant towards him, hoping leaning against him would stop the spinning. It didn’t feel like you’d had too many drinks but the room was blurry and you struggled to keep yourself upright. His breath felt too warm and too close for comfort, his hand on your thigh got tighter and suddenly you didn’t feel very safe.
“I wanna go home.” It took a lot of effort but you managed to get out those few words. “Take me home please.”
You hated how quiet and weak you sounded. He stood, putting his arm around your waist to keep you steady. While you appreciated the support, it made you feel uneasy. The walk back to the institute was slow and filled with not so subtle “accidental” grabs.
The big doors soon came into focus and they’d never looked so good. The walk home had helped to clear your head slightly, your mouth still felt very dry, but that was probably just the nerves.
“This is me. Thank you for walking me home.” You stopped and turned to face your date. He took a step closer. You stepped back and were horrified to feel the iron of the door handle press into your back.
“Aren’t you going to let me inside?” His hands migrated south from your waist. You gasped when he grasped your backside.
“I-I don’t think that’s a good idea.” You heard the stutter is your voice, you didn’t sound very convincing.
“You didn’t say no when I felt you up earlier. Your such a little tease.” One hand uncupped one of your cheeks and moved up to brush your hair from your face. He slowly pushed down one of your sleeves, exposing your bare shoulder.
“Please don’t.” Fear filled your voice. Your legs shook, fear mixed with alcohol was making standing a difficult task.
“I’m not asking.” His leg pushed between yours. Suddenly, the dress that made you feel so confident earlier made you feel open and exposed. One hand pushed your body into his while the other pulled your mouth forward.
You couldn’t let this happen, your first time wouldn’t be with some creep! Adrenaline filled your body. You turned your head just as his lips connected with yours, smudging your lipstick but you didn’t care. Using all the strength you had left you pushed him away, turned, opened the door and snuck inside before he could realise what had happened.
You leant against the door, your head was still spinning but the cool wood helped. You kept your eyes closed while you caught your breath. You were glad it was late and everyone was in bed, this was humiliating.
“He was that good was he?” You spun round to see Simon with a smug grin on his face.
Alec was stood behind him, a face like thunder. That face was enough to sober you up entirely. You thought about how this probably looked, face flushed, heavy breathing, clothes coming off and lipstick smudged. The thought of what you just escaped hit you and before you could stop it, tears filled your eyes and you collapsed to the floor.
Two strong arms engulfed you. You knew it was only Alec but you couldn’t help but flinch and push them away. Alec looked hurt and confused as you shuffled further away.
“What happened Y/N?” Simon was stood watching you. Alec tried to reach out to you again. You flinched when his hand touched your arm but you didn’t move it away.
You hiccuped and sobbed your way through the story. Alec’s rough yet gentle thumb gentle brushed your arm. Even though you were horrified he saw you like this, he was still your best friend and his touch made you feel better. He didn’t say anything while you talked but you could tell he wasn’t happy. The thought that your best friend was angry at you caused the waterworks to double.
“I’m so sorry Alec. I was so stupid. I wanted to make you jealous and I lead that guy on and I’m so sorry. Please don’t be angry at me!” You threw yourself into his chest, not really realising what you just said.
You turned your head to see Simon slowly edging out of the room.
“I’ll give you guys some space.”
It took a second for Simon’s words to make sense. You paled when you realised what you just said, you turned your head and buried it further into Alec’s chest, hoping that his silence meant he hadn’t heard.
“You wanted to make me jealous?” You felt the chuckle in his voice rumble through his chest.
“Don’t laugh!” His laughter hurt and made you angry. You pushed yourself away and turned your back on him.
“I’m such an idiot” He chuckled slightly.
“Hey! I am not!... Wait, what did you just say? Why are you an idiot?” You spun to confront Alec before you fully registered what he said.
“I’m an idiot because I was trying to make you jealous by being distant. I didn’t even think that it might have the opposite effect.” You stared at Alec, waiting for him to tell you he was just messing with you. Expecting him to make a horrible joke about how silly you were for liking him. But it didn’t happen.
You both stared, measuring the reactions of the other. Neither one of you wanted to be the first to break the silence. After what felt an hour you decided to take the plunge.
“So what? Does that mean you like me, like, like like me?” You felt like a child again.
Alec chuckled softly, brushing your cheek gently.
“Yes, I like like you.”
“Now what do we do?”
Alec pulled you towards him, encasing you with his arms and placing his chin on your head.
“Well, I’m going to put you to bed because you need it. Then tomorrow, how about we go get pancakes for breakfast.” That sounded perfect, you nodded against his chest. “This doesn’t have to be a sudden change, we can go on dates, take it nice and slow. We’re best friends and that doesn’t need to change.”
You felt so safe in his arms, you let your eyes close, enjoying the silence. Before you fully fell asleep, you heard Alec softly humming to himself while he rubbed your back.

Jace Wayland- (Don’t) care
Requested a long time ago by @badasseddy, I’m sorry again I lost your request😭 If this has happened to any of you, please message me! I hope you like it
Plot: Jace’s carefree attittude is going to have terrible consequences for once.
Warnings: this is part of the angst alphabet, so please RAPE THIS CONTAINS RAPE.
Jace slammed the door of your house with a huff. He threw his jacket to the ground, not bothering to leave it on the coat rack or check if you were still behind him. The lights came off after him, and he didn’t care if you could see where you were going or not. Jace didn’t care about much in that moment, all he felt was a deep and burning anger in his body, his fist tensed and veins popping out. Your annoyed voice calling out of him only made it worse.
“Come on, Jace!” you tried to keep up with his long steps. “You’re being a child.”
“Funny that is you saying that” he chuckled, turning on the small lamp of the living room.
“I just wanted to help you” you rolled your eyes, placing carefully the coat on the couch.
“You don’t think I can defend myself?! I’ve done it thousands of times before, and I can keep doing it, thank you very much!” Jace turned to look at you, and then muttered to himself “I don’t need your fucking help”
“I didn’t know it was such a deal, sorry I hurt your masculinity” you joked, your hands up in the hair and doing exaggerated movements. “Gosh, next time you can clean up your mess on your own.”
“My mess? Are you serious right now? The guy was looking for a fight! It was not definitely my fault.”
By that point, you had already reached the bottom of the cute stairs that lead to the bedrooms. Usually, they were Jace’s favourite place; you took there Christmas photos with the rest of the ‘family’, and he kept one of them with just the two of you in his wallet.
In that moment he simply didn’t care.
There was a wooden table between the two of you, with all the weapons you had chosen for that night. Where you had went to a club to get a vampire before he killed everyone in there; and that was the original, and only, plan. Jace wasn’t supposed to talk to the guy who was serving the drink, wasn’t supposed to mock him neither threaten him.
“No offense, Jace, but the threats didn’t help the situation” you laughed a little. You had been in that argument since he got into the car with you and started giving you those long stares that wanted nothing but fights. “If I hadn’t stepped in between, you two would’ve reached the fists. And, guess what? That wasn’t on the plan!”
“Everything is about the plan, now?” he sassed. Everyone knew he was the most rebellious of the group, and it was a wonder how he ended up with you; a rightful follower of the rules. You were starting to wonder that too.
“Yes, the plan, Jace. The one you were supposed to follow.”
“Stop talking about the plan!” he shouted at you. “Everything would had gone just right if it wasn’t for you!”
“Me?! At least, I don’t screw things! Or do I have to remind you the incident with the…what were they names? Whatever! The mundanes!”
“Clary, Y/N” he scoffed. “Her name was Clary, and she wasn’t a problem.”
“So you can’t remember her name but not to follow the plan?”
It was true that, maybe, you were a little jealous, or very, very jealous. The girl had appeared in your world to make everything harder, destroying Alec and Jace’s friendship and keeping your boyfriend to herself. You had talked about it with Jace before, and he had assured you, between soft laughs, that she was just a friend. Still, the heat of the argument had made you bring her up.
“Well, at least she wouldn’t be this annoying!” Jace screamed one last time. “I can’t-I swear, I can’t stand you!”
“Okay! Fine!” you pulled your hand up and let out a sarcastic chuckle. “I’m out.”
“Out? What’s-Hey! Where are you going!”
“To clear my fucking head before I’m framed for your murder!” you yelled as you turned on your feet, walking back the path you had done just a few minutes ago.
“Alright! Go, and see if I care!”
He did care, and he realised the weight of his words just when you closed the door and the pictures on the walls shook. Sighing, he walked up the stairs and reached your bedroom. You would come back, that was what he said to himself. It was not the first fight you had, neither the first time any of you walked out of the house to avoid bigger arguments. Jace sat on the bed an gripped the ends of his blonde hair, already regretting his words. Of course you weren’t annoying, yet he knew how much it hurt you to talk about Clary and he thought that it would be a good idea to talk about it. Anything was better than to admit that the guy had been making comments about that dress you loved so much, and that he had started the argument because he couldn’t stand the thought of you hearing those nasty comments. Not after seeing your excited face about the dress.
Meanwhile, you walked to the nearest park and sat on the swing, allowing yourself to calm down as you felt the cool air blowing against your skin.
“He’s an idiot” you muttered to yourself.
Tears blurred your vision as you fixed your gaze on the ground, so you decided to look instead to the sky. The night sky calmed you enough to make your breathing go back to normal and keep the tears away. A few minutes passed as you gazed at the stars, lost in your thoughts until you noticed a man walking down the sidewalk.
He looked slightly alarmed when he looked up and saw you just some meters away. Too quickly for your liking, he ran towards your spot and stopped in front of you, placing his hands on his knees.
“Hi miss” the stranger said, apparently out of breath. “I don’t want to be any bother, but would you happen to know the time?”
“Sure” you turned on your phone and looked at the clock. “Half past one, sir”
“Thank you”
You gave him a small smile and nodded. Still, he didn’t move and kept staring at you. After shifting the weight of his body from leg to leg, he decided to talk again.
“Are you- I’m sorry for asking, but are you alright? You seem upset”
“I’m fine. Long day” you avoided his eyes, looking instead to the street in front of you.
“Oh. Right” he chuckled. “Well, would you- This is weird, I know… do you want to grab something with me?”
“That’s really sweet, but no, thank you”
There was a small twitching in his eye that you didn’t like one bit, not that he didn’t see as tired as before or that he had a perfect clock on his left hand. Looking around, you realised that no one was around, and the houses didn’t have the lights on. Cold sweat began to run down your neck when you thought about your weapons left in the living room desk.
“Alright, alright” the stranger raised his hands. “My bad, what about a walk?”
“I just don’t think my boyfriend would be too pleased about that, I’m sorry”
The words you used were kind, but your tone was harsh and demanding. You kept your eyes on him, but the exhaustion from the fight at the club and Jace’s argument made you less focused. With a fast movement, he threw you backwards, making you hit your head hard against the metal pool supporting the swing set.
You felt the area of impact and looked at your hand to find blood. In that park, everything seemed to be suddenly ten times more silent, your head throbbing and dizzy. You tried to move so that you could fight back, yet the man took advantage of your split second of shock and slammed your head into the pole again, making you feel even more confused.
If he was going to prey on your moment of weakness, then coward was not a strong enough word to describe his appalling personality. His sickening smirk and another hit to your head was the last thing you noticed. Then, your nightmare began.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The first time he did it, was the worse. You were too lucid not to notice the movement of his hips on top of you, the pain between your legs. You had cried, screamed, sobbed and begged. Still, the man didn’t stop his movement, not until you felt him leaking out of you. Arms and legs tied up in the different posts of the beds, you couldn’t move, and got stuck with the sick feeling in the bottom of you stomach. Still, you didn’t give up, because Jace would find you, because he cared.
The second day, you tried to think about other things. As he pounded into you and touched every inch of your body, you thought about happy memories. Isabelle and you dancing the night away. In and out. Alec’s training with you, the laughs and the jokes. He kept still, wanting you to feel him inside. Catching Magnus and Alec making out in the elevator, long talks with them. His meaty fingers touched your sensitive spot, yet only pain came out of it. Jace. He finished with a long moan, and left you there again. Jace, he wouldn’t leave you alone, you knew, because he cared.
On the fourth day, he decided to try something different. Raping you didn’t make you scream anymore, so he tried cutting, biting, cutting and bruising. Again, you screamed until your throat was sore, and he laughed until he had tears on his eyes. You wondered if Jace cared about you enough to look for you.
Soon, a week passed and you didn’t recognised yourself in the mirror. Skinny arms, bruised legs and big bags under your eyes. You had tried to escape, but the chain that usually started on the wall and finished on your neck was a big obstacle. Besides, that guy held especial love for punishments.
“Hey, baby doll?” you heard his voice from downstairs. “Dinner is ready!”
You were enjoying one minute of peace alone in the attic, your will of leaving non-existent. Like a robot, you walked downstairs with the stupid white dress he had bought you; it made you pretty, he had said. Truth was he liked to see the bruises shinning against the white fabric.
The place where he was holding you was really small. A house with two floors, one kitchen and two rooms. You didn’t know what was on the second one, neither wanted to find out. As he said, it was the punishment room, and it scared you to the core.
He was waiting for you in the kitchen, as always. Disgusting food on the table, cocky smirk on his face and the zipper of his pants low.
“I made eggs today” he cheered, signalling with his head to the small plate on your side of the table. “Hope you like them, I really put all my effort on them”
They weren’t eggs probably, just another soup that smelled like shit. You sat on the chair in silence, your hand folded in your lap. As he shook his head and pointed to the floor, you wondered if Jace still cared about you. As you kneeled in front of him and took his dick out, dried tears in your cheeks, you wondered if Jace had ever cared about you.
Suddenly, the small window that was always closed broke, and a small ball flew into the room. He got up quickly, putting his dick back into his pants and you wiped your mouth with shaky hands, knowing that if he saw you doing that you would be punished. He didn’t see. The only thing he was aware of was a small click and a huge white smoke cloud filling the whole place. Then, darkness.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jace Wayland liked to think was brave. He didn’t cry when his father died, he didn’t cry when almost everyone left him, and he didn’t cry when many of his friends were killed by his reckless actions. You used to say to him that it was okay to cry, it didn’t mean that he was weak, just that he had feelings and was brave enough to let them show.
That was what he was doing at that moment, and he was cursing himself for it. He had to be focused; after a long week, they had managed to find where the psycho had you hidden; he had always thought that you would die because of some supernatural being, not by a rapist and a killer.
“Jace” he heard Alec mumbling beside him. His friend put one hand on his shoulder, trying to calm his shaking. “Maybe you should go back to the van.”
“No” Jace voice, even small, held no doubts. “We’ve talked about this, I’m coming with you.”
“If something happens in there, you can get her killed” Isabelle interrupted, rolling her eyes. She knew it wasn’t his fault, but since you disappeared she had given him the cold shoulder.
Jace blinked the tears from his eyes and decided to ignore her; enough guilt and pain were filling his body. He took a shaky breath and let Magnus know that he could throw the bomb.
It wasn’t a bomb, he would never put your life at risk. He just wanted to guy knocked out cold so that he could get you; then, Jace himself would take care of the guy. The night sky was suddenly illuminated with the light from inside the house, and they all heard the man screaming and then two loud thuds. It was silent for a few seconds, Alec holding Jace down so he couldn’t run to you so quickly.
When he let him loose, Jace was the first one to enter the house. He broke the door down with a rune and ran inside the room. He had to cover his mouth with his arm and, still, coughed when the disgusting smell reached his nose.
“Do-Where is she?!” Isabella asked behind him. Magnus and Alec ran towards the man, who was unconscious and tired him down so he wouldn’t scape. “I can’t see her.”
“There might be more” Magnus warned from his place on the ground. “Search in the others rooms before-“
Jace didn’t hear anything else, since in his line of vision appeared a bruised hand. He walked a few steps forward, watching your body being revealed from the other side of the table.
“Jace? What are you-Oh my god!” he heard Isabelle choking on his breath behind him, but he couldn’t look at her.
Not when you were in front of him, laying on the ground in a fetal position, bruised an bleeding. He didn’t remember dropping to his knees or cupping your face between his hands, he only noticed where he was when Alec took a hyperventilating Isabell out of the house. His knees hurt from the impact and his vision was blurry, yet he was awfully aware of your fragile body in his arms.
You were thinner, your hair was shorter and your body showed him the hell you had been through. Jace didn’t recognize his own sobs until the tears made contact with your closed eyes. Carefully, he wiped them out of your face, and for a second your eyes fluttered.
“Y-Y/N?” he whispered, repeating the movement once more. He watched as you did the same, and opened your mouth slowly. “Hey, love. Can, can you hear me?”
He was met with silence, but he got a faint glint of the colour of your eyes. A small, teary, happy laugh left his lips, and he pressed them in your forehead. When he looked back, you had a sad smile on your face with your eyes closed, and his heart beat for the first time in a week.
Sirens were heard in the distant, and Jace sat besides you, placing you on his lap. He breathed you in, ignoring the foreign smells and focusing on yours. His hands, without thinking, went to your cheek, and he started drawing small circles. While he rocked you both and checked that you were awake, he repeated the same words again and again.
“I care, I do care, love”

I am definitely obligated to ask Shadowhunters for the game! ;)
IN DEPTH FANDOM QUESTIONS
oof you really went for it, huh! haha
Top 5 favourite characters: Simon, Magnus, Clary, Maia, Jace
Other characters you like: Izzy, Sebastian, Raphael, Meliorn, Luke
Least favourite characters: Valentine, Maryse, Alec
Otps: Simon/Jace, Clary/Izzy, Clary/Maia, Izzy/Maia, Raphael/Izzy/Simon, Raphael/Simon, Jace/Maia, Jace/Simon/Maia, Magnus/Ragnor (that’s book influenced though, haha), Clary/Simon
Notps: Magnus/Alec (i said what i said), Jace/Clary, Camille/Simon, Victor/Izzy, Simon/Faerie Queen
Favourite friendships: lightwood siblings (that includes jace), clary/izzy, clary/simon
Favourite family: Lightwood Siblings, but the Garrowfray+Simon family was done dirty and could have been so much more
Favourite episodes: Don’t know what this really says about me, but the one where Valentine is torturing Jace on the boat, because it really points out the trauma he grew up with and doesn’t disclose (which the show did horrible of showing the aftermath of btw ugh), and then obviously the episode where Jace sacrifices himself to save Simon and lets him drink his blood a little too much........ I haven’t watched most of s3/4 so I haven’t seen the later Jimon scenes but I’m sure those too
Favourite season/book/movie: lol, none of the show is a fav, necessarily, but i do like some of s2. my fav book is the City of Lost Souls
Favourite quotes: Can’t think of specific ones, but pretty much anything Simon says
Best musical moment: Simon singing Fragile World. I downloaded it and listen to it still
Moment that made you fangirl/boy the hardest: jimon blood feeding
When it really disappointed you: i was mad about them not exploring jace’s trauma after the boat. i was upset they didn’t let the malec breakup last longer for alec to grow as a person before they got back together. just so much. so so much.
Saddest moment: Um, I don’t know about sad but the most poignant was when Simon was talking about his Bubbie having been through the holocaust and that was why he wasn’t about to do the shadowhunter bullshit tracker thing
Most well done character death: they did Jace’s okay. I think Simon’s was good too.
Favourite guest star: Lydia the Lesbian
Favourite cast member: Alberto 100%, although Kat is a sweetheart too. And Isaiah is hilarious.
Character you wish was still alive: Um, Jocelyn, I think. She deserved the Maryse “redemption” storyline more than anyone else after the abuse and manipulation she went through as Valentine’s wife imo
One thing you hope really happens: well the show has ended, but I guess I hope Clary/Jace break up just to break up Izzy/Simon and switch respective partners.
Most shocking twist: There wasn’t one, really, after reading the books. I guess the most shocking thing was the show actually incorporated Simon’s Judaism in a serious and respectful way? And that they let Maia talk about police harassment as a black girl vs shadowhunter harassment as a werewolf
When did you start watching/reading?: Um, reading the books would be circa 2012 I think? The show I watched when it first aired
Best animal/creature: any downworlder
Favourite location: Magnus’ flat
Trope you wish they would stop using: redemption storylines
One thing this show/book/film does better than others: showing Simon’s Judaism as a part of his life
Funniest moments: most things Simon or Magnus related
Couple you would like to see: see all above non canon otps
Actor/Actress you want to join the cast: n/a
Favourite outfit: the little black dress Izzy puts on Clary because gayyy
Favourite item: Stele
Do you own anything related to this show/book/film?: nope
What house/team/group/friendship group/family/race etc would you be in?: in this world, weirdly enough, I think vamp
Most boring plotline: haahahahahahahahaha
Most laughably bad moment: Valentine’s “lair” being in Chernobyl for absolutely no reason
Best flashback/flashfoward if any: i don’t remember most of them, but I guess the lightwood siblings ones? or valentine’s? god it’s been too long. also this doesn’t count really but the alternate universe where Jimon are friends and Alec has a personality
Most layered character: if they had actually explored his psyche, Magnus
Most one dimensional character: Alec
Scariest moment: I had read the books, so really nothing?
Grossest moment: Sebastian going in to kiss Clary. Incest isn’t a good look...
Best looking male: Isaiah, but Alberto is up there. Dom.
Best looking female: all of them
Who you’re crushing on (if any): Alberto and Kat. I miss Kat’s red hair too much
Favourite cast moment: all the stupid cute domberto videos
Favourite transportation: portals
Most beautiful scene (scenery/shot wise): Alicante
Unanswered question/continuity issue/plot error that bugs you: no one has time for that list
Best promo: n/a
At what point did you fall in love with this show/book: the show? the minute I saw Simon’s smile and him changing his shirt. Also the part where Clary and Izzy are actually friends but also check each other out up and down while changing clothes.
