⚡️Third registration of IE nation citizens + professional activities⚡️
Side note : i took a little break from tumblr, my blog was glitching so hard it was pratically unusable. Once fixed, i was too focused on work and tired afterward. Don’t worry, IE nation will still rise no matter what but i will probably post less posts about it on weekdays, so don't panic if it happens, nothing is cancelled. I'll try to post about it the week-end tho. Anyway, here is the registration.

For those looking to raise doubts about American elections, it's becoming clear that a key 2024 voting boogeyman will be immigration.
The false notion that undocumented immigrants are affecting federal elections has been floating around for over 100 years, experts say, but this year, due in part to an increase in migrants at the southern U.S. border, the idea could have new potency.
The narratives are being pushed by prominent right-wing figures including Cleta Mitchell, a former adviser to Donald Trump, along with the presumptive Republican presidential nominee himself.
NPR acquired a two-page memo Mitchell has been circulating laying out "the threat of non-citizen voting in 2024."
"I absolutely believe this is intentional, and one of the reasons the Biden administration is allowing all these illegals to flood the country," Mitchell said on a conservative radio show in Illinois last month. "They're taking them into counties across the country, so that they can get those people registered, they can vote them."
Trump has made the same claims on the campaign trail. And even Elon Musk, the Tesla founder and owner of X, has used his social media platform to push the baseless idea to millions of people.
"[Democrats] are importing voters," Musk wrote in a post about undocumented immigrants on March 5 that X claims has been seen more than 23 million times.
It's illegal for noncitizens to vote in federal elections, and numerous studies over the years have found that it almost never happens, but voting experts still worry the claims could take hold at a time when huge numbers of Republicans simultaneously don't trust elections and see immigration as the top problem facing the country.
"I think that's what it's meant to do — to freak people out over an issue. It's a continuation of this myth of voter fraud," said Gilda Daniels, an election law professor at the University of Baltimore. "It not only creates hysteria, but it [furthers] this idea that only certain people should be allowed to participate in the process."
A TALE AS OLD AS VOTER REGISTRATION
The idea that people are being shuttled into the U.S. to influence elections is a familiar tale for seasoned election officials.
"I've been hearing it my whole career," said Kim Wyman, a senior fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center and the former Republican secretary of state of Washington.
In fact, the myth started taking hold in the U.S. in the late 1800s.
A hundred years before, when the country was first founded, noncitizen voting was actually fairly common and uncontroversial, says Ron Hayduk, an expert on noncitizen voting at San Francisco State University. But after the Civil War and Reconstruction, a wave of migration from Europe of nonwhite, non-English-speakers led to xenophobic fears about what would happen to the U.S. if immigrants were allowed to exercise their power politically.
One by one, states began implementing voter registration systems specifically as a means to disenfranchise immigrants.
"Allegations of vote fraud were the main stated justification for imposing restrictive practices," Hayduk said.
And in the century since then, he said, every time the country has seen an influx of immigrants, a loosening of immigration policy or an expansion of voting access, accusations of voter fraud have followed.
Mitchell's memo about the risk of noncitizen voting touches on two of those things. Migrant encounters at the southern border hit an all-time high in December, and the document focuses mostly on the implementation of a 1993 law, the National Voter Registration Act, that made registering to vote easier.
The NVRA does not require proof of U.S. citizenship for people to register to vote, only that potential voters fill out a form and attest under penalty of perjury that they are citizens. A federal voting law passed in 2002 also required applicants to provide a unique identification number to register, like a driver's license or Social Security number, which election officials say effectively serves as a citizenship check since both of those forms of ID involve the government checking whether someone is a citizen or not.
But Mitchell's main hope, according to the document, is to spur Congress to require documentary proof of citizenship as part of registration.
Experts say that sort of change would have a drastic negative impact on many eligible voters, like naturalized citizens, without solving any real problem.
"If you make [registering] harder, there will be students, young people, elderly people, poor people and other groupings of people who would just not bother," said Daniels, of the University of Baltimore. "This whole document is [saying] we don't want the NVRA or any other piece of legislation to do what it's supposed to do, which is register people to vote."
Mitchell did not respond to an email from NPR requesting comment.
SOLUTION IN SEARCH OF A PROBLEM
The right's concerns about noncitizens voting have persisted despite there being no recent evidence that ineligible people are voting at anything other than microscopic numbers in American elections.
After the 2016 election, the Brennan Center for Justice, which advocates for expanded voting access, looked at 42 election jurisdictions including some of the jurisdictions with the largest noncitizen populations in the country, and found suspected noncitizen votes made up roughly 30 of the 23.5 million votes cast (0.0001%) in those places.
A recent study in Arizona (first reported by The Washington Post) found that less than 1% of noncitizens attempt to register to vote, and even in those cases, the vast majority are thought to be mistakes.
"There are dire ramifications for those who register when they are not eligible—in the naturalization process applicants for citizenship must affirm that they have not registered to vote," wrote Tammy Patrick, a former local election official in Arizona who is now the CEO of the nonprofit Election Center, in an email. "The stakes are high and not something that most people would willingly, knowingly gamble away for the sake of casting a single ballot."
Hayduk, of San Francisco State, agreed.
"The last thing [migrants] want to do is put themselves at risk of being detained, deported, let alone put a wrench in their application for citizenship," he said.
In Georgia, Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger had his office perform a citizenship audit that found fewer than 2,000 suspected noncitizens registering to vote in the state over the past 25 years. None were actually able to cast a ballot.
"Noncitizens are not voting in Georgia," said Raffensperger, in an interview with NPR.
Still, in a sign that the issue has become a priority not just for the election denial wing of the Republican Party, Raffensperger has made noncitizens a key focus of his time in office even as he has fought against other conspiratorial election narratives.
Earlier this year, the secretary was pushing for a constitutional amendment in Georgia to explicitly ban noncitizen voting, something a number of other states, including neighboring Alabama and Florida, also passed recently.
"Perception is 9/10 of reality," said Hayduk. "Putting the solution on the table suggests there was a problem. And I think that's part of the point. [These laws] create a solution to a problem that doesn't exist."
Legislation tracking by the nonprofit Voting Rights Lab shows that in the first few months of 2024, 17 bills have been introduced in 12 different states that involve proof of citizenship provisions.
Federal law already bans noncitizens from voting in federal elections, but a few liberal U.S. cities, including Washington D.C., have begun allowing them to vote in local elections, adding to conservative fears that soon noncitizens will be voting en masse.
In Georgia the proposed amendment effort stalled in the legislature but Raffensperger said he plans to push for it next session.
That is almost certainly true. Both Ohio and Florida's constitutional amendments banning noncitizen voting passed with more than 75% statewide support.
But it's one thing to say noncitizens shouldn't vote. It's another to claim, as Mitchell and Trump have, that they already are in great numbers.
Raffensperger has directly refuted many similar election fraud claims over the past four years.
But when asked by NPR what he thought of the false idea that President Biden was shipping in undocumented immigrants to boost his reelection bid, Raffensperger declined to comment on it.
"What Joe Biden's up to, I don't really know. You'd have to ask him," Raffensperger said. "I'm going to make sure that we secure our elections: Now more than ever, American citizens are demanding this."

The Biden administration on Friday rolled out new guidance to provide expanded access to voter registration during naturalization ceremonies of new U.S. citizens – part of a broader push by the federal government to increase voter registration that has raised concerns from Republicans.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it is updating its policy manual "to increase awareness and expand access to voter registration during naturalization ceremonies" at which eligible foreign nationals become U.S. citizens and are then able to vote in elections, including federal elections.
The new guidance "affirms that USCIS provides access to voter registration services at each administrative naturalization ceremony, including information regarding points-of-contact for voting and voter registration."
It also tells officials that offices should request state or local government election offices attend ceremonies to distribute and collect registration applications. It says offices will coordinate with "non-partisan, non-governmental organizations" for such services when state and local government officials are not available.
Tumblr media

"The ability to vote in federal elections is a fundamental right that comes with U.S. citizenship," the agency, which primarily deals with legal immigration, said in a policy alert. "All individuals naturalized at an administrative naturalization ceremony are immediately eligible to register to vote."
"In furtherance of its long-standing goal of encouraging newly naturalized U.S. citizens to exercise their right to vote, USCIS has historically provided access to voter registration services at the conclusion of administrative ceremonies."
The new guidance originates from President Biden’s March 2021 executive order on "promoting access to voting" and orders agency heads to "evaluate ways in which the agency can, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, promote voter registration and voter participation."
Earlier this year it announced that in line with that order, USCIS would issue guidance, "including providing a clear roadmap for how to successfully partner with state and local election administration officials and nonpartisan organizations to provide voter registration applications to all new Americans."
The broader multi-agency push launched by the executive order has caused controversy with some Republicans in Congress, who have expressed concern about federal overreach and have called for more information to be released by the administration. Republicans in the House had called for the strategic plan to be made public and argued that Biden "has no legal basis to order all federal agencies to engage in voter registration, nor does he have the authority to order any federal agency to engage in efforts to promote voter participation."
Former Deputy DHS Assistant Secretary Michael Bars, who served in the Trump administration, told Fox News Digital that conservative lawmakers in the House should deny funding for what he called an "unlawful executive order directing federal agencies to conduct registration drives for partisan voter turnout, whereby political appointees are ostensibly deputized to register and mobilize voters."
"This is a function of political parties and candidates – not state, local or federal government," said Bars, who now serves as executive director of the Election Transparency Initiative.
Election reform has previously been a flashpoint between Republicans and Democrats. Democrats in 2021 attempted to pass the For the People Act, which would have overhauled the voting process, including requiring states to automatically register voters, and restored voting right to felons.
Republicans rejected it as a "hostile takeover" by Democrats to federalize state and local elections. The bill passed the then-Democrat controlled House but failed to advance in the Senate.

I haven’t really seen any of the more recent U.S. election news hitting tumblr yet so here’s some updates (now edited with sources added):
There’s evidence of Trump cheating and interfering with the election.
Possible Russian interference.
Mail-in ballots are not being counted or “recognized” in multiple (notably swing) states.
30+ bomb threats were called in and shut down polling stations on Election Day.
20+ million votes are still unaccounted for, and that’s just to have the same voter turnout as 2020.
There was record voter turnout and new/first-time voter registration this year. We definitely should be well over the turnout in 2020.
U.S. citizens are using this site to demand, not only a recount, but a complete investigation into election fraud and interference for the reasons stated above:
Tumblr media
Here is what I submitted as an example:
An investigation for election interference and fraud is required. We desperately need a recount or even a revote. The American people deserve the right to a free and fair election. There has been evidence unveiled of Trump cheating and committing election fraud which is illegal. There is some evidence of possible Russian interference. At least 30+ bomb threats were called in to polling places. Multiple, notably swing states, have ballots unaccounted for and voting machines not registering votes. Ballots and ballot boxes were tampered with and burned. Over 20 million votes that we know of are unaccounted for. With record turnout and new voter registration this year, there should be no possibility that there are less votes than even in the 2020 election.

Multiple screenshots and images.
The first is a screenshot with a link and information for contacting the White House directly regarding election fraud. The instructions include choosing to leave a comment to President Joe Biden directly and to select election security as the reason.
The screenshot then instructs people to include any or all of the following information in a paragraph as a comment to the president:
32 fake bomb threats were called into Democratic leaning poll places, rendering polling places closed for at least an hour.
A lot of people reporting their ballots were not counted for various reasons.
This all occurred in swing states.
This is too coincidental that these things happen and swing in his favor after months of hinting at foul play.
Directly state that an investigation for tampering, interference, fraud is required, not just a recount.
The second image is from the FBI Twitter account that reads:
The FBI is aware of bomb threats to polling locations in several states, many of which appear to originate from Russian email domains. None of the threats have been determined to be credible thus far. https://t.co/j3YfajVK1m — FBI (@FBI) November 5, 2024
The next four Gmail screenshots of an email sent to Rachael Bellis from Chris T. Spackman that read together as follows:
Dear BELLIS, RACHAEL E., The Dauphin County Board of Elections received a challenge to your absentee ballot you applied for in the November 5, 2024 General Election. The challenge argues that a provision of the Pennsylvania Election Code takes precedence over the federal Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA), which requires states and counties to permit U.S. citizens who move overseas to vote by absentee ballot for federal offices based on their last U.S. residential address.
The full text of the challenge that was filed appears below this email.
You may respond to the challenge in any of the following ways:
1. Call the Bureau of Registration and Election at (717) 780-6360;
2. Email a statement to the Bureau at Election [email protected]. Any statement you submit regarding the period during which you lived in Dauphin County, any family or connections that you still have here, and why you are now residing abroad would be read into the record.
3. Appear in person at a Board of Elections hearing scheduled for Friday, November 8 at a time to be determined in the Commissioners Public Hearing Room, 4th floor of Dauphin County Administration Building, 2 S 20d St, Harrisburg, PA 17111. The meeting is also likely to be livestreamed on Facebook on the Dauphin County channel.

To this point, all ballots have been scanned, including all mail-in ballots.
Centre County's Election team and IT team have identified that the data are successfully being exported from the mail-in ballot scanners, but that the data is not being recognized when uploaded to the elections software.
Centre County's Administrator, John Franek, Jr. stated, "We have not stopped working, and we will continue to work until unofficial results are posted and reported to the Pennsylvania Department of State."
As a next step, Centre County has begun working with the equipment vendor to adjust configurations to make the two systems-the mail-in ballot scanner and the elections software where data are uploaded -compatible with one another.
We will provide updates as we make progress.

Friendly reminder that almost half of the states in the U.S. have same day registration! This means you can go to the polling center for your location, register there, and cast your vote same day. So if you are over 18, are a U.S. citizen, and live in one of the states listed below, it is not too late to register and vote! I’m going to put notes for some of the states where voting is extra important due to the political climate of the state. *Please note that every state has its own rules and requirements for same day registration and voting, some are only for early voting, or have very specific ID requirements. Make sure to research your state specifically before showing up to the polls
California
Colorado
Connecticut
D.C.
Hawaii
Idaho
Illinois
Iowa - recent polls indicate state could flip from red to blue
Maine
Maryland
Michigan - swing state! Could go red or blue!
Minnesota
Montana
Nevada - swing state! Could go red or blue!
New Hampshire
New Mexico
North Carolina - swing state! Could go red or blue - same day registration allowed only for early voting
North Dakota - voter registration not required
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin - swing state! Could go red or blue
Wyoming
You can go here for more info on voter registration
I also have a huge list of voting resources here

trying to come up with a scenario that could feasibly lead to TJ being arrested but not thrown in jail or forcibly weaponized as an alternative to prison time...
having a difficult time with it lol 😂
(TJ's powers = chemical element control, aka alchemy and transmutation, and early on manifests as mostly explosions and fires)
i need him to be a little shaken but not traumatized and get off w/ a slap on the wrist and maybe a small fine...

The election doesn’t start tomorrow, it ends tomorrow.
If you haven’t already, please make sure you are registered to vote and know where your polling place is (vote.org is a great and easy way to get that information). Additionally, please make sure you have a way to get to your polling place. Uber and Lyft often give free or discounted rides to the polls, and this year the car rental company, Hertz, is allowing free one-day rentals to get to the polls. More information on that here.
EDIT: NAACP has a discount code to use for Lyft, valid for two rides up to $20 ($40 total). Use code: NAACPVOTE24
The following states allow same day registration for general elections, ie: the presidential election:
California
Colorado
Washington DC
Hawaii
Idaho
Illinois
Iowa
Maine
Maryland
Michigan
Minnesota
Montana
Nevada
New Hampshire
New Mexico
Utah
Vermont
Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin
Wyoming
Note: North Dakota does not require formal voter registration, and upon presenting valid identification at a polling place, eligible citizens receive their ballot to vote.
all info here
The following states are required by law to give you time off to vote (between one and three hours):
Alabama
Alaska
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Georgia
Illinois
Iowa
Kansas
Kentucky
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
Missouri
Nebraska
Nevada
New Mexico
New York
Ohio
Oklahoma
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
West Virginia
Wisconsin
Wyoming
*Most states requiring employers to permit voting leave also require that this time is paid. Among the above, the following do not: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Dakota. (info here)
Again, it is your right to vote. If you are in line when the polls close, stay in line. It is your legal right to vote.
If you are turned away at the polls, say the following verbatim: “Give me a provisional ballot with a receipt as required by law.”
If you make a mistake on your ballot, you have the right to ask for a new ballot. Don’t cross anything out, simply ask for a new one.
Poll workers are required to make reasonable accommodations for voters who need, including ballots in other languages or translators.
Canvassing is not allowed at polling places, and no one is allowed to threaten or intimidate voters. You have the right to report anything of the like.
All info taken from here
Some tips:
Don’t wear political merch to the polls.
Don’t engage with anyone about your politics at the polls.
Don’t take phone calls inside your polling place — it can wait, please be respectful.
Research who is running locally and see what their policies are. Additionally, research any local propositions that may be on the ballot. The language on ballots is made to be purposefully confusing, so make sure you read everything carefully in addition to your research.
If you’re able to get up early on Election Day, go right when your polling place opens to beat the line.
REMEMBER: IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE!
Here are a list of state-by-state voter protection hotlines, as well as hotlines in various other languages:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Please vote tomorrow if you have not already. It’s so important, and choosing not to vote or voting for a third party is a vote for extremist measures. Vote down the ballot, and do not let anyone bully you into voting one certain way.
What we are seeing throughout this election cycle (and the last two election cycles) is entirely abnormal. The bullying we see from a certain side and its supporters is childish and dangerous. They spew false information, make racist remarks, and sexualize and discriminate fellow candidates. No single presidential candidate is completely and wholly good, so criticize accordingly.
Vote with those you love in mind, vote with your safety in mind, and vote for those who will be affected for decades to come. Vote for someone who speaks coherently, not for someone who is, let’s be honest, not cognitively alright — and that is the bare minimum of the issue.
If you have anything to add to this post, please do. If anything is incorrect, please let me know and I will gladly change it.
Vote. Vote. Vote.

Hey, US citizens who are eligible to vote, today is National Voter Registration Day!
As someone unable to vote in the country I live in, I’d like to take a moment to encourage everyone who is eligible to vote to check their voter registration.
Deadlines are coming up fast in many states, and many states have been purging their voter rolls to try and suppress the vote. Don’t let them take it from you.
You can use this link below to check your voting status, and remind your friends/family/followers to do the same; it only takes a couple minutes.
And remember, if you’re vote didn't matter, the bastards wouldn’t be working so hard to take it from you.

WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK ARIZONA
Okay, look. I know I don't have a huge following. I'm hoping my friends @nudityandnerdery and @dee-the-red-witch and anyone else I may manage to tag after might be kind enough to share.
Im well aware tumblr isn't a US site. However this post ist for US citizens.
If you think you are registered to vote, and you plan on doing so this November, MAKE SURE. DOUBLE CHECK. Because you may not be.
A month or two ago, a tumblr post encouraged me to verify my voting status, and I did. All was well. I was happy. Nothing to worry about.
I saw a different post elsewhere today that gave me a mild nudge to check again, and to my surprise, I was listed as INACTIVE.
Nothing about my registration had changed. I hadn't moved. I hadn't changed ID numbers. Obviously my SSN doesn't change. My job hadn't even changed. There is absolutely no reason my voter registration should not have been the same as it was 2 months ago.
I have updated it. But you can bet your ass I'll be checking it weekly until it's actually time to vote. And you should, too.
