This was always the segment of this movie I watched the least growing up - mostly because neither the story nor the characters involved were ever really my favorites as a child - so I missed a lot of details. Like the way Minnie’s house is clearly a bit run down; it’s not falling apart, it looks like it’s comfortable enough, but there’s things like the wallpaper peeling or the floorboard being pulled up a little. It shows that while she might not be struggling a ton to get by, she can’t afford to spend a lot on things she doesn’t need, whether it’s minor home repairs....or presents.

And he doesn’t even know! He doesn’t even know who his family is or who Lava Lamp is to him or that they care for him so deeply! He doesn’t know where he came from or why he exists and for a while he was scared that he didn’t actually exist at all, just a dream destined to fade away. 

And he almost was, but now he’s so much more than that, and it’s the love of everyone around him that keeps him firmly planted in reality. 

I JUST HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS ABOUT WATANUKI OK.

I love the difference in the breakfast that Donald makes for the boys compared to what they make for him. Like, the breakfast Donald makes is more balanced, including things like bacon and eggs and stuff like juice to drink. 

Meanwhile, I think the boys just grabbed basically everything they’d want to eat for breakfast, including just soda and cupcakes, and threw it on a plate. I love how they didn’t even make a bowl of cereal - just tore open the box and set it on the plate.

Lava Lamp so tightly tied by fate that it's captured him from every angle, ever new connection he forms another piece of the prison. And it's all something he blames himself for, so he can't even be mad about it, only desperate as he tries to save the Sakura at the other end of the strings, even if it leaves him tied here. (which it does)

When all along it was Evil Wolverine behind the scenes setting up each of these cords to snag Lava lamp and suffocate him until he has no choice but to take the wish he offers him. 

It’s such a powerful image - him trapped here in the quintessential Tsubasa Syaoran outfit, surrounded by the darkness, seemingly trapped by fate - but the single voice calling out to him from the void was the person who put him here in the first place, and not someone who is interested in helping.
