The Saints (Official) x Music On Vinyl re-issue series continues with their underrated 3rd album from 1978 "Prehistoric Sounds" back on vinyl for the first time in over 30 years! Pressed on silver coloured vinyl and individually numbered out of only 1,000 copies.

A commercial failure at the time, the album not only led to the dissolution of the band's songwriting partnership of Chris Bailey and Ed Kuepper (the latter choosing to pursue the more avant-garde leanings of Laughing Clowns), but also forced their record label EMI to drop the band.

Despite the turmoil, Prehistoric Sounds has stood the test of time and rightfully been re-evaluated as an Australian rock classic, with the band continuing to build on the progression of their previous LP Eternally Yours (which is also back in-stock, by the way) with an ever-expanding sonic palette, infusing elements of soul and blues-rock into their classic punk rock sound.

A highly recommended piece of Australian rock music history! Out now and in stock now for $65.

8 уроков из книги “Мой продуктивный год”

Привет, студент! В этом посте я хотел бы поделиться с тобой некоторыми рекомендациями, которые Крис Бейли дает читателям в своей книге “Мой продуктивный год”, которую я в который раз рекомендую прочитать каждому, так как это литературное произведение наполнено просто колоссальным опытом, советами по продуктивности и обучению. Вот, собственно, рекомендации автора:

Чаще отдыхай от продуктивности. Если делать слишком мало перерывов, то можно полностью подорвать продуктивность. При правильной организации перерывов возникают многочисленные серьезные преимущества: ты работаешь более осознанно и целеустремленно, легче придумываешь новые идеи, тебе проще переключить сознание в режим блуждания (состояние, в котором решение задачи вполне может прийти в голову, как “по-озарению”), ты эффективнее размышляешь о работе, видишь смысл в том, что делаешь, и в конечном счете более продуктивен. Если мы систематически чувствуем недостаток энергии, это означает, что резервы физиологической энергии в нашем мозге недостаточны;

Ежедневно вспоминай три вещи, за которые ты испытываешь благодарность. Благодаря этому возникает мощный эффект, поскольку “если регулярно сканировать мир вокруг в поисках позитива, то со временем у мозга это будет получаться все лучше и он сохранит эту новую модель поиска позитивных сторон в окружающей вас реальности в качестве привычки”;

Записывай примеры положительного опыта. Когда ты записываешь или, если ведение записей – не твой стиль, в конце дня рассказываешь кому-либо о положительном опыте, который удалось пережить в этот день, то с неврологической точки зрения “мозг” воспринимает этот опыт как значимый, и ты понимаешь, что твоя жизнь имеет значимую траекторию;

Разложи задачи на составляющие части. Чтобы лучше структурировать большие проекты, целесообразно инвестировать больше времени в их детальное планирование, создать промежуточные цели и постоянно обновляемые списки действий, которые должны быть выполнены. В результате повышается вероятность вхождения в “поток”, это магическое состояние, когда работа настолько завладевает вниманием, что кажется, будто время не существует;
