I tried the M&M's Pretzel Chocolate Share Size Pack and it was pretty good.

This chocolate didn't taste artificial to me and the pretzel gave the sweet chocolate a light salty taste that went well with the chocolate.

This was crunchy from the outer shell and pretzel in texture.

These were sweet and salty but not overly of both to me.

I would eat these again.

Post: #898 So recently, I had ordered some chocolates that were supposed to be given as a return gift to my family and friends who had attended a very special function in my family. I remembered a dear blogger friend Swati ( @thisfascinatingworld2 ) whose Mom ( @anumildsweets )makes these awesome homemade chocolates. I placed an order for 60 boxes of chocolates. The same were delivered to me in nice sweet and cutely done boxes, perfect for the occasion and that too it was delivered on time. The boxes are very reasonably priced at Rs. 40/- , Rs. 60/- , Rs. 80/- and so on. The chocolate were of different shapes and sizes and of 4 different categories, because I specifically asked for it. So, I had Dark chocolate, Milk chocolate and White chocolate and also Dark & Milk Chocolate fused together in one chocolate. Verdict: The chocolates were not very sweet like Cadbury's but mildly sweetend and I really loved it because one could eat it more without feeling guilty🤭😬 Quite happy with what was delivered to me. Review & Ranking of 8 Caramel Chocolates you can buy at a NZ Supermarket

Today we reviewed and ranked 8 caramel chocolates you can buy from a New Zealand supermarket.  We made sure it was the runny caramel type, not caramel chunks or the dulce de leche thicker caramel filling.  There is a mixture of milk and dark chocolates. From left to right in the photo, we reviewed: Cadbury Old Gold Caramel Hersheys Kisses Caramel Lindt Caramel Squares Dark with Sea Salt Caramel Whittakers Dark Salted Caramel Lindt Caramel Squares Milk Chocolate Whittakers Creamy Caramel Nestle Rolo Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramello How did we rank them? Find out at the end of the reviews. Cadbury Dairy Milk and Old Gold Caramels 190 g blocks

Cadbury Old Gold Caramel   Bought at Pak n Save for $2.99 Caramel 30% Cocoa Solids 47% Sugars per 25g serving size is 12.7g Fairly easy to break off a row with a good snap.  It has a faint chocolate aroma. Tasting the caramel by itself, we found the caramel had a nice flavor.  Eating it with the chocolate, we found we were mainly tasting the chocolate and had to hunt for the caramel taste. There was not much melt in the mouth. The aftertaste had a hint of dark chocolate bitterness. We do like the flavor of Cadbury caramello, they use the same caramel it seems for both the milk and dark chocolate.  We weren't really fans of the dark chocolate and it drowned out the caramel.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramello Bought at  New World for $3.49 Caramel 30% Cocoa Solids 27% Milk Solids 24% Sugars per 25g serving size is 13.4g A little hard to break off a row.  The caramel by itself is a nice flavor and is the same as what is in the Old Gold.  Eating it all together, it melts nicely.  It is very sweet, and the sweetness does overtake the caramel flavor a bit.   We do find Cadbury milk chocolate a bit overly sweet, but their caramel is yum.   Whittakers Creamy Caramel and Dark Salted Caramel 250g

Both bought at New World for $5.09 each Whittakers Dark Salted Caramel Caramel 36% Cocoa Solids 62% Sugars per 25g single serve is 9.2g The caramel by itself is salty sweetness with a slight caramel taste.  There is a slight melt in the mouth when tasting it with the dark chocolate, and the taste is a slight bitter dark chocolate with a salty overlay.  We don't taste the caramel flavor.   The aftertaste is dark chocolate with a hint of salt. This is not as nice as its milk chocolate counterpart.  The caramel flavor is overpowered by the dark chocolate and you are just getting the saltiness.  The caramel flavor itself is not as nice as the milk chocolate version either.

Whittakers Creamy Caramel Caramel 36% Cocoa Solids 33% Milk Powder 30% Sugars per 25g serving size 8.9g This has an aroma of cocoa and milk.  The caramel by itself has a nice butterscotchy flavor.  It is easy to break off a row.  When you eat it all together, it melts in the mouth and you can take creamy chocolate with a touch of butterscotch.  The aftertaste is sweetness. This is a nice caramel block.  The chocolate is nice and the caramel is yummy, and there is a nice balance of yummy flavors when you eat it all together.  

Lindt Milk Chocolate Caramel Squares and Lindt Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Squares

Bought at New World for $5.99 each Lindt Milk Chocolate Caramel Squares Caramel 30% Cocoa Solids 30% Milk Solids 20% Sugars per 16g serving size is 8.3g The aroma is milky and slightly cocoa. The caramel by itself is quite thick and sweet. It does have a caramel flavor. Eating it all together, it slightly melts in the mouth and there is a sweetness taste with hints of chocolate and caramel.   The aftertaste is sweetness. These are nice.  The flavors for us were diluted by the sweetness overall. We liked eating  the squares, taking bites like little biscuits.

Lindt Dark Chocolate Squares with Sea Salt Caramel Caramel 30% Cocoa Solids 47% Sugars per 16g serving size 7.6g The aroma is dark chocolate. The caramel itself is runny, a nice caramel flavor with a slight saltiness. Eating it all together, it slightly melts in the mouth. It gives a good chocolate hit mixed in with the salted caramel flavor.  The balance of chocolate, caramel flavors and sweetness are really good.   These are super yummy.  We would usually lean towards milk chocolate over dark, but these are so good, so flavorsome.

Hershey's Caramel Kisses

Bought from New World at $4.49 Caramel 37% Cocoa Solids 28% Milk Solids 26% Sugars per 28g serving size is 15.6g The aroma is sweetness.  The caramel by itself is sweetness with a hint of caramel flavor.  Together there is a slight melt in the mouth.  It is sweet with some chocolate flavor and a slight caramel taste.  The aftertaste is sweetness. These are a nice gift.  We like the idea of chocolate kisses and the packaging is great.  They are a bit overly sweet for our tastes.

Nestle Rolo 200g Block

Bought at New World for $3.09 Caramel 25% Cocoa Solids 22% Milk Solids 25% Sugars per 28.5g serving size is 16.2g It is easy to break off a double row.  It has a milky, slight caramel fragrance.   The caramel itself tastes of sweetness with a hint of caramel.  There is a slight melt in the mouth eating it all together.  It is sweet and has a nice chocolate flavour, but the caramel taste didn't punch through.   This is very sweet, but the chocolate does have a nice flavor.  It was okay.

No, but white chocolate is made only from the cacao butter, not the beans. AND CACAO BEANS DON’T GROW IN ICELAND!

Well I love zotter, because they are special and I hope some day they would send me some samples of their weirdest chocolate😝but #Zotter I must be honest with you, this one Is nothing but ordinary chocolate slab. Cadbury Dairy Milk with Pascall Clinkers

SPECIAL EDITION Bought at Pak n Save for $2.99 170g block Clinkers candy pieces 8% Cocoa Solids 27% Milk Solids 24% Sugars per 25g serving size is 14.5g Made in Tasmania Australia We don't always buy these novelty type blocks, but Joni remembers Clinkers with fondness.  If you have never tried them, they are like a hard Eskimo lolly with a bit more fruity flavor punch, covered in chocolate.  They have different fruit flavors, and you didn't know what flavor you would get until you bit into them. In New Zealand you can't find them in the supermarkets anymore, but I did find you could buy them online from the Remarkable Sweet Shop NZ. It smells like Clinkers and it tastes like a mix of different flavored Clinkers.  The Clinkers add a nice crunch and the balance of Clinkers and chocolate is quite good.  The aftertaste? CLINKERS! ​ This block was actually a bit of fun.  Don't buy it for a serious chocolate tasting experience, but for  the yummy Clinker bits, and a bit of nostalgic fondness.

Tasting Whittakers Cocoa Pods with Hazelnut Gianduja

We picked up another new release from Whittakers, a new addition to their gifting pouch range.  Whittakers Cocoa Pods with Ghanaian Cocoa beans and Hazelnut Gianduja. We  looked up what the difference was between Gianduja and Praline and thanks to www.hotelchocolat.com we found the answer.  You can click on the link to a really good article explaining what they are and what the differences are.  We learnt, Praline can be made with a variety of different nuts, whereas Gianduja is made with hazelnuts, almonds or both and chocolate or cocoa will be added to the paste. Gianduja is also always smooth. Whittakers Cocoa Pods come in a 125g pouch with 10 individually wrapped pods. Bought at Pak n Save for $8.99 Cocoa Solids 33% Milk Powder 30% Sugars in a 12.5g serving size is 4.8g. The shape is of a Cacao pod, and they are a decent size. The chocolate is the yummy Whittakers Creamy Milk chocolate that we like.  The center melts in the mouth and is very creamy.  It is not an instant hit of hazelnut, but it comes through while eating and you are left with an aftertaste of sweetness and hazelnut. These are nice.  There are similar, hazelnut filling, choccies out there, and these are among the nicer ones.  They are not especially unique.  We wouldn't just go out and buy them for ourselves, but if someone were to give them as a gift, we would be happy.
